okay but i can't stop thinking about the way that bobby — bobby who knows about eddie's will, knows that buck is chris' other dad, knows exactly what buck means to eddie and vice versa even though they haven't quite cracked it for themselves yet — told eddie, you don't seem to have a problem committing to certain things. the way he pointedly mentioned everybody but buck. the short pause before and long pause after he says shannon.

the way that eddie sits and thinks about how to best respond before talking about how, despite the religious trauma and catholic guilt, he loved being married to shannon... but not saying that he loved shannon (even though he did, in his own way). the way that bobby lets eddie know that he can't tell eddie how he feels about marisol, how that's for eddie to know, and how eddie makes a face and shakes his head in response.

part of me wants bobby to stop being such a dad and just give it to eddie straight, like eddie's begging him to. part of me wants him to tell eddie flat out that he knows he has feelings for buck, and that buck has feelings for him, and that it's been that way for a long time. but a way bigger part of me knows that eddie would not be able to hear or receive it anyway. he'd just recoil further into his denial and add another lock to his closet door.

saw a post one time of someone getting an annotated book as a gift and it's been living in my head rent free imagine bakugo doing that and there being angry scribbles whenever a character is being dumb or cute parts being highlighted

but YES GOD!! in his worst handwriting cuz he just scribbles as he goes, at first thinking it wouldn't be anything anyone else would care about, just a habit he picked up from reading all his hero stats and damage report paperwork.

but then when you take a liking to that first book (probs something he just lent you off his shelf), he starts to do it more and more w/ the books he gets for you both. and it's probably coded somehow with the highlights, too.... underlines and circles but hearts and smileys as well (EVEN IF they're small or ugly) ... i'm gonna cry :(((

i also like the thought of him reading your annotated books too... he's the type to pick up whatever you're in the middle of while you're away and just start reading it randomly, all so he can talk to you about it. it's funny if its for school or not his preferred genre, seeing him stand over your desk with his glasses on and a grumpy face bc he's having typical bakugo-esque Thought (TM) about it jaskdlfkajsdf.

I feel like many of us felt unsafe stating our (valid) hate on p*ggy even in what are supposed to be sticky safe spaces. Even when I read stucky fics, it makes me uncomfortable how many of them have previous Steve/p*eggy tag and in many of them it almost looks like Bucky was Steve’s second choice after fantastic p*eggy was gone. There is nothing romantic about their interactions in tfa and they don’t ever really have scenes beyond that. While Bucky. Is. There. Literally taking your stereotypical love interest part, while not being a nazi collaborator. Why am I forced to read about how amazing (or god forbid, gay, that offends me as a wlw) p*ggy is?? The endless deification of her in even stucky fanfic (especially the classics) is... God, it really grinds you down.

Most depressing is when they frame Bucky as feeling inferior to her, because not only is he a lovely heroic person in every way she is not and never could be, but everything interesting about her is just stolen from him anyway. It's like Tony Stark being intimidated by Justin Hammer! What a joke!

Plus, it demands a way OOC depiction of Steve as some kind of hypocritical idiot who would put both his ethics and his friends aside for a pretty face.

In reality, not only was he pretty damn dismissive and aloof from her in CATFA, but all of his other characterisation implies that he (of all people!) would be the first in line to call out her bad behaviour, not failing to notice how hypocritical and shallow her interest in him is. And he would be the person least likely to be dazzled by looks and money.

(And all the things they pick as attractive qualities in her, for him, are in fact the very things that Steve could not find attractive. Worshipping strength, rude health, and quick violence? Reserving respect for people who are not weak? People who defend themselves but not others? Finding upper class English people more worthy of his time than lower class? People who have non-combat roles during wartime when they could be behind enemy lines? People who talk and act like Red Skull?

Yeah all that's just straight up impossible in Steve's love interest if he's going to be a disabled blue-collar underdog Antifa Irish Catholic defender of the weak from Nazis. Her character traits are directly antithetical to his, in every single respect.)
