Don’t let this delicious blueberry muffin deceive you!

Now, I’ll tell you a little story about why I shouldn’t have ate this “delicious” muffin. So, one of my coworkers was raving about how great she was at baking. She tells me this after I had made a rather delectable batch of snickerdoodles the day before. 

There is something you should know about my other coworkers: they inhale EVERYTHING. All baked goods I had ever brought in were gone by 9 AM. On this particular day, I went down to refill my water and noticed there was a tray of muffins on the table. This was at 11 AM! If I was smart, I would have saw this as a sign to not eat it. Fortunately for you, I did. I brought one of those muffins back up to my office and took a nice, big bite out of it. I immediately knew something was wrong when I felt something running down my chin towards my expensive dress shirt. Thanks to my quick reflexes, I was able direct my face over a trashcan and attractively spit what was in my mouth into said trashcan. Who brings raw muffins into work? Do we not all practice safe baking (the toothpick test)? 

Yes, this is an actual picture of the muffin before I took a bite of it.

Rule #1: If your ravenous coworkers don’t eat something, don’t eat it...

Chan-Bixler First Family Summer Vacation - Acadia National Park

I’m not sure if I would go back to PEI any soon, particularly because it’s such a long trek just to GET to PEI.  In both directions we had to stay for a night in Maine because it was just too long of a drive.

But on the way back, we had a chance to stop for a meal in Acadia National Park.  N had told me about it because it was where he first started hiking part of the Appalachian Trail.  We didn’t have time to do any hiking, but I’m really glad we stayed for lunch.

We ate at Jordon Pond, and had the chance to eat OUTSIDE on a beautiful day.  My mom was particularly excited about their popovers, because she and my dad had visited Acadia with some friends earlier in the year, but they didn’t get a chance to eat anything while they were here.  We all took full advantage of the popovers and the blueberries that Maine is so well-known for.  

It was all super delicious and I thought for decent prices, too.  I would definitely come back here some time to do some more adventuring and exploring!

My creative ideas continuously float (only if I had more time) and sometimes pop up in my head unexpectedly. Though I had an intention of making a berry pie at some point, an idea or -rather than an urge - of making the blueberry pie in the photo was the unexpected pop up. 😀 During one of those rare moments, yesterday I decided to rest up after work. I never nap but somehow I drifted off to sleep, dreaming of a #blueberry #pie 🥧. A felted one. As if I’m not #felting enough in real life, now I have dreams about my #craft. 🧐 my sleep was promptly interrupted leaving me with an urge to felt that pie. 😳 Though the creative process was unintended, I couldn’t help but think of Salvador Dali’s intentional practice for #creativity. He would sit down in a chair, with a metal spoon in his mouth and a plate near his chin aiming to fall asleep in that pose. At the moment of transitioning from REM into a deep sleep, the spoon would fall onto the plate and wake him up. He would then draw the surreal images that he remembered during the REM sleep. Creative process is always fascinating. Don’t you think? У меня постоянно много идей появляется и иногда неожиданных. Я давно хотела свалять ягодный пирог, но руки все не доходили. А вот идея пирога из черники привязалась ко мне вчера во сне. Я после работы решила прилечь и отдохнуть. Обычно днём я не сплю, даже если усталая, а вчера задремала. И пирог черничный приснился. Не настоящий, а из войлока! Так много валяю, что теперь вот во сне мое ремесло появляется. Домашние меня случайно разбудили, а назойливая идея свалять пирог осталась. Хотя моя мысль про пирог случайно во сне появилась, я вспомнила про Сальвадора Дали и его целевой творческий процесс. Его сюреалистичные образы, которые он рисовал, появлялись в течение бодрствующ��го сна. Он садился в кресло с металической ложкой во рту, ставил перед подбородком тарелку и засыпал. Когда сон переходил в глубокий, ложка падала на тарелку, тем самым будила Дали. Художник сразу садился за холст и рисовал запомнившееся образы. Помните его «мягкие часы»?
