Magical Girl Katarina AU: Dark Magic

Note: These headcanons on Dark Magic are applicable to all of my AUs where Katarina is born with this element.

The Dark Magic that Katarina uses is different from the Dark Magic that is known in Sorcier. Her Dark Magic is best described as “Pure Darkness” while the magic that is used by Raphael, Sora, and Sarah is “Corrupted Darkness.”

Pure Darkness is innate while Corrupted Darkness is acquired. Meaning that Katarina was born with her Dark Magic while the Dark Magic that Sorcier is more familiar with is acquired through human sacrifice.

Demons are naturally born with Dark Magic and can use either the Pure version or the Corrupt version depending on their intent. The Tenebrous Horde Demons and Monsters use Corrupted Dark magic.

Okay so, in Katarina’s previous world, magic exists but it has been mostly forgotten about. People with the potential to be mages exists but they do not know how to access that magic. It’s like, most people think that magic is fantasy so those born with magic subconsciously suppress it or try to rationalize it. Therefore, they cannot activate their magic by themselves and need an external force to awaken it.

Monkey Girl/Mashiko Hayashi was born with a connection to the Dark Element but she couldn’t access her magic until she bonded with the Wand of Darkness.

In contrast, people in Sorcier know that magic exists and expect to use it (at least, the nobles do). That’s why they manifest their magic so young.

Dark Magic was once natural in Sorcier but an event in the distant past made it so that the Dark Mages lost their magic and new ones could be born. Those born with the affinity for Darkness were instead granted other elements connected to their bloodline, but because they were not completely compatible, their power was weak. This explains why Katarina’s Earth Magic is so weak; she is connected to the Earth element through her Claes blood but she was meant to have the Dark Element.

In this AU, Katarina was born with Dark Magic along with the Earth Magic from her Claes blood. Her Dark Magic was dormant until she regained her memories of her past life.

The real difference between the two is the intent of the mage who has that magic. A Natural Born Dark Mage can use the Corrupted version of the element; just the same, a mage who acquired Dark Magic through a ritual could use Pure Darkness.

Of course, it’s easier for mages who acquired Dark Magic to use the Corrupted version due to the nature of the ritual.

Dark Magic is associated with death, destruction, the night, the shadows, and “bad” emotions like anger, sadness, fear, and envy. It can also affect a person’s mind and memories. These things are not inherently evil but do have negative connotations.

Here is a list of how Katarina uses her Dark Magic:

The ability to see ghosts and spirits. This power is passive, meaning it’s always on.

The destruction aspect is similar to the Cataclysm power from Miraculous. She can specify what she wants destroyed and how she wants it to break. This power can work on living beings but Katarina only uses it against the Demons and Monsters.

Control over shadows and darkness. Travel through shadows, cover an entire area in darkness, uses shadows as solid attacks, make shadow constructs, etc.

Ability to see in the dark

Since her Familiar is a wolf, Katarina/Mashiko has a connections with them and she can command them. This does not work with dogs so they still chase her.

Sensing dark magic and negative emotions. Her Dark Magic sense only allows her to sense the Dark Magic in a general area while Iyashi/Raphael can pinpoint the specific source.

Lock away memories. This power has only been used once in her Past Life and Katarina rather not use it in her current life.

hello, I want to ask you about the Bonus story or side story that exist In Hamefura. I kinda confused a lot because in my knowledge side story are only exist from the light novel (?), but I heard that they have a web novel special, and theres also some that are from yamaguchi web, and theres also from the manga volumes, can you explain to me are the differences? Thank you, if is it wow hamefura indeed have many side story 😫

First of all, I haven't read the web novel, so I can't talk about it.

Aside from that, "bonus stories", "extra stories", "side stories", "SS stories" are all additional short stories written by Satoru Yamaguchi. These stories are usually given out as bonus:

some are bonus stories that come from special editions of the light novel. They come in separated booklets and are usually long (~50 pages). For example the Stuart Brothers story.

some are bonus stories that come with the ebook version of the light novel (they are titled "SS Story"). They are short (~4 pages)

There is a extra story included in each volume of the manga. They are usually about an AU. For example the Magical Girls AU extra story. They are also short.

Satoru Yamaguchi has a blog where they publish extra stories. The first published stories are just side stories, but whenever a new volume of the light novel comes out, Yamaguchi usually publishes 2 extra stories related to the new volume.

The Japanese blurays of the anime come with various bonus, including booklets containing extra stories. There is a 4-page extra story for each character except Katarina and Nicol.

People who watched the movie in the cinemas in Japan were given 2 booklets containing each a 4-page extra story. They are the "special episodes" I translated.

The artbook of the anime contains an short extra story.

When you purchase a new volume of the manga in animate stores, I think they give out a bonus card containing a picture on one side and an extra story on the other side, but I haven't seen any of those.

According to @sparklingmusicofstars , the Chinese version of the light novel includes extra stories that I haven't seen on the Japanese version of the light novel. But they seem to be the same kind of "SS story" that comes with the ebook.

And that's all I know about Hamefura's extra stories.

Katarina Termina

As promised, the AU that was inspired by THIS thread, but I'm going more in-depth on this here.

This AU is going with the idea of the Monkey Girl being reincarnated into someone who isn't integral to the plot of Fortune Lover. As I said in the linked thread, the name Katarina Termina came from my fanonical name for a rough draft of Katarina Claes being Tatiana Terni, a romanceable character borrowing the surname from @azure-wolf-227's name for the Queen's family.

Since I like that concept, I decided to not attach Katarina to that name, in order to give the harem an officially fair chance, even though my endgame is always the same ship when given the option.

The Termina Family:

Duke Odin Termina of Termina:

Portrait of a northern barbarian with fire magic. Despite Sorcier having a rather nice climate in general, his island some how manages to be permanently covered in snow, which necessitated the development of greenhouses and a massive keep that the people of his Duchy occupy. Looks much, much older than he is, and comes off as only slightly less intimidating that Luigi. Adores his family and has a love of the macabre that comes off as threatening to some. He and Luigi Claes have shared maybe ten words in court and tend to sit in the same general vicinity. He would call the man his close friend, if asked. He's also related to Miridiana through their great grandparents and knows Viscount Coleman by reputation, so he quickly figured out the Keith situation, but has never actually seen the family together, so he doesn't know about the family issues.

Duchess Tatiana Termina nee Smith:

There was quite a stir at court when Odin married his personal blacksmith, an orphan apprenticed to the blacksmith of the previous Duchess Termina, Odin's mother Belladonna (from whom he inherited his title), but they'd grown up together and fallen in love, and the northerners don't rightly care who marries whom unless agreements are being abruptly broken. Tatiana is a cheerful woman who will happily go on about how which weapons she designed are capable of doing what amount of damage to people. She also has a fondness for creating new weapons and has been working on what Bakarina would recognize as a flamethrower for years. There's a rumor in court that she's the result of one of the previous King's affairs due to her having golden hair and bright blue eyes behind her goggles, but there's no proof of that one way or another.

Katarina Termina:

Prior to Catarina Claes's accident and the subsequent scar on her forehead, Katarina Termina was one of the frontrunners for Prince Geordo's fiancee. She actually didn't have an opinion about that one way or another, being more interested in improving the greenhouses and her weapons training, as well as her interest in her mother's designs. She does have quite a fondness for sweets born from sweets being uncommon in Termina, and she doesn't have the most courtly of manners, but she was actually considered rather refined in the mead hall in Termina's Keep. She also later manages to "invent" the ice cream maker after regaining her past life memories. By sheer coincidence, she and Catarina Claes were born on the same day and look similar, save for Katarina having slightly darker hair and lighter eyes, as well as darker clothes in general and a sword that's always present on her hip. She has fairly weak fire magic, and unknowingly has moderately strong Dark Magic.

Anne Shelley:

She was sent to Termina, instead of the Claes land because Baron Shelley thought it would be best to send her somewhere that most people didn't know and also because, from an in-universe meta perspective, Katarina Termina is the cut content for Katarina Claes, so she gets the positive relationship with Anne that I give FL Katarina. Her relationship with Katarina was a slightly more professional version of her relationship with Bakarina, up until the training accident, when Katarina becomes notably more friendly and Anne winds up adapting. Her time in Termina actually let her become more of a free thinker, and Baron Shelley didn't even make it to the door of the keep before he was chased off. Despite not being related by blood, they treat her like part of the family, and, though she doesn't know it, Odin, Tatiana, and Katarina agreed that, if Katarina winds up engaged to someone who has to maintain their family title, Anne will be made the heiress to the ducal title.

The Training Accident:

During Katarina's first year at the Academy, she was in a friendly duel with a wooden sword with her sparring partner and best friend, Lady Penelope Blancarosa, whose family is allied to her own, with Sienna Nelson and Astrid Grimnir as their witnesses, only for a momentary distraction to cause her to drop her guard at exactly the wrong time, getting a blow to the head that woke up her Monkey Girl memories.

The Harem:

Geordo:

I feel like Katarina was someone he found interesting early on, which was why she was one of, if not the frontrunner prior to Catarina's injury. Since she lives on an island in the north, she only really visits during social functions, so he didn't notice all of the changes, since she was basically just a slightly more disciplined version of herself as Bakarina. He's still trying to figure out how to broach the subject of potentially leaving his fiancee to be with her specifically due to the fact that, as a northerner, she might take offense to him trying to break his engagement like that.

Keith:

Keith wound up developing into something just shy of being an actual playboy, but it's very close. While his relationship with the Claes is... strained, to say the least, he actually managed to meet and befriend Katarina Termina during a ball, causing him to be infatuated because of how kind she was to him. Alas, she has noted on occasion that's she's somewhat disappointed in him for all his flirting with pretty much every girl he meets, which hits hard enough that he never goes further than flirting and the occasional cafe date with his target du jour.

Mary:

As something of a horticultural hobbyist, Katarina, upon a social visit to the Hunt manor, finds herself musing upon how the person who tended to the field has a green thumb, not knowing Mary was in earshot. By sheer chance, she and Mary don't get to properly meet until another social event, when Alan directly tells Mary that she has a wonderful green thumb. Cue Mary having a Crisis when she properly meets the mysterious garden lover at that same event. Now she's trying to figure out a good way to get both of them, by whatever means she can scheme up.

Nicol:

Nothing much changes, to be honest.

Sophia:

No one is quite sure how she keeps managing to get to Termina, given that it's on an island, but she inevitably appears there to hang out with the girl who saved her from those bullies when she was little, who she feels oddly comfortable with in a familiar sort of way.

Alan:

Not much actually changes. Timeline shifts a bit and, due to Mary not messing with him to try to neutralize him as a rival, he has a surprisingly healthy understanding of his feelings for everyone around him. Geordo breaking decorum by showing his interest in Katarina despite his engagement to Catarina also helped him see Geordo as fallible and human, helping him feel more comfortable with his brother.

Raphael:

Due to Marchioness Dieke not letting Sirius go many places and Raphael having no real basis for comparison, he spent an unfortunate amount of time thinking that Katarina Termina and Catarina Claes were the same person. He's actually a bit embarrassed about it when the trial starts and he sees the two of them in the same place.

Maria:

Since the Training Accident happens prior to the Academy days, then Maria's life actually isn't all that different from canon. The only real change for Maria is that her beloved Lady Katarina has an evil doppelganger named Catarina Claes, who Maria has seen her chase off.

Other Noble Ladies:

Sienna Nelson:

As with Anne, this relationship is being transferred from Catarina to Katarina because Katarina is all of the positive traits that the developers cut from Catarina Claes. Her family is subordinate to the Termina family, so she grew up in Termina's Keep with Katarina, giving her more confidence.

Penelope Blancarosa:

Her family's lands are the closest mainland territories to Termina, so she and Katarina are very close friends, and a fellow lover of the art of swordsmanship. Katarina has seen her with Astrid Grimnir enough times to know they have feelings for each other, but Katarina wonders how any girl can be as oblivious as Penelope when it comes to realizing one's friend is in love with them.

Astrid Grimnir:

Daughter of the Baron Grimnir of Seithr, the self-proclaimed Young Wolf is an avid hunter, like her father, and loves seeing innovations in any technology. She's also completely in love with Penelope and quickly befriended Katarina after having met her while she was tweaking the systems of one of the greenhouses.

Marsha Catley:

Funnily enough, she gets along rather well with Katarina, though she does assume that Katarina was devastated by the fact that she wasn't chosen to be Geordo's fiancee.

Noelia Flores:

She and Katarina hate one another. No one is entirely sure why, and most are too afraid to ask.

Catarina Claes:

Katarina and Catarina are natural enemies as a result of their opposing views on various topics. The only thing they can agree on is their disdain for Noelia's purposeless, boring malice. Like I said in the original thread, paraphrasing Terry Pratchett is the best way to describe how they feel about one another: Catarina and Katarina shared a look. It said: While I loathe you and every aspect of your personal philosophy to a depth unplumbable by any line, I’ll credit you at least with not being Noelia Flores.” Despite this, Katarina is still trying to figure out a way to stop Catarina from ruining her own life and that of those around her out of pity for what her foreknowledge showed her of her possible fates. This, funnily enough, got Catarina to stop bothering Maria after the first week because she was getting concerned by Katarina looking disappointedly at her with her hand on her sword.

The Vampire Dairies and The Originals AU

Stolen Three - Esther attempts to break the deal to save the future firstborns from Dahlia, who keeps her word and returns for Finn and Elijah. The oldest three grow up together under Dahlia, it isn’t pleasant.

Familiar Faces - Elijah Gilbert has been haunted by dreams of other lives as long as he remembers, but now with the appearance of the Salvatore brothers he may finally get some answers.

Lady Elijah - Elijah is born a girl, it changes much and little at the same time. Eylaug Mimisdottir was born in the shadow of her older sister's loss, she will never escape that weight but to those born after her she's the only oldest sister they have.

Soulmarks - Since Celeste's death Elijah had only had her name, reburning itself onto his skin every few years, he took the pain in penance of her death however after her final death he discover the two new names that should have appeared decades ago.

Andréa Labonair and Jackson Kenner.

Inner Child - Esther casts a spell to bring forth a Elijah who believed in her when her first attempts to bring him onto her side fails, when Elijah wakes from his sleep by Klaus, they find a seven year old version. The aftermath leaves more damage than even Esther had planned.

Grandfather Elijah - Elijah makes a different choice in the wake of Tatia's death and flees with the child he orphaned. He makes a promise to the boy that would become his son and keeps it beyond his death and those of his grandchildren.

Reincarnation Woes -On the night Mikael struck down his children, Elijah managed to grab one brother and run, sixteen years later Kol desperately tries to repay the favour and save his brother.

He failed or so he thought until years later he meet the eyes of his son and finds his brother looking back, starting a cycle.

Mother's Son - in the aftermath of losing Freya, Esther uses magic on her unborn child. Years later Dahlia appears to take the child that her magic tells her is hers.

Nature's Spare - A Omegaverse AU; Where nature decides it needs a backup Tribrid, it uses Elijah and Jackson to get that.

Entangled Minds - Sage gets a witch to cast a spell to help her reconnect with Finn, it has other results, Finn’s freed from the darkness of the box to learn the darkness within his brother’s mind and Elijah starts to questions his sanity in isolation, as while he looks for his siblings and questions if Niklaus is redeemable anymore, he starts to hear his older brother’s voice.

Northstar in stone - Elijah manages move at the last moment, saving Finn from Lucien's bite at the cost of taking it himself.

Taste of sin - Kol calls Elijah to help prevent Silas's return instead Elijah falls. A year and half Elijah arrives in New Orleans with a new hunger, powers and a trail of blood. Siren!Elijah

A Lost Coat - in the aftermath of losing Freya, Esther bleeds and Elijah is born of another woman and Mikael, one with her own secrets. Selkie!Elijah AU

Forgotten - Mikael makes his own version of the daggers and Elijah when he decides to buy Klaus and Rebekah time never leaves New Orleans. When Klaus comes back a century later, Elijah isn't how he last saw him.

A Small Break - a Dollhouse crossover, where Elijah after decades of failing to find any evidence against Klaus' claim of throwing their siblings into the ocean meets a man in a bar and takes a chance on human science giving him a escape from his failings.

- I headcanon that Lousabre is based on Norway, Sweden, and England (and maybe Belgium). I'd like to think that they have some viking influence.

- Maria and Sterling are related in a way. I'm still not sure if I should make them distant relatives or not.

- Hayden is based on Kaoru Seta from Bang Dream and Manaria Sousse from I'm in love with the villainess

OG Katarina Headcanons!

I am back from the dead! After screaming for one week and smiling during the next, I am officially back! Sorry I wasn't updating or anything like that these past 2 weeks, it turned out my extracurricular activities lasted 2 weeks instead of 1.

I didn't have much time to think of new ideas for Bakarina headcanons for the RPG AU, so I'm thinking about posting them sometime later during the weekend. In the meantime, here are some ideas I had about OG Katarina while I was doing extracurricular activities!(In the OG Fortune Lover timeline, not the RPG AU)

Please note that some of these headcanons aren’t there to excuse OG Katarina’s behavior and to make her a saint, they’re made to help me understand her character and make her more human and fleshed out. Some of these were inspired from analyzations made by @dulcito-on-ao3 and @azure-wolf-227.

OG Katairna has extremely low self esteem, so much so that it can rival Bakarina's, because she A) is grasping straws when it comes to affection from her fiance, B) lives in an unhappy household, and C) has to maintain her reputation as she is rumored to only have been engaged because she is a duke, has weak Earth magic, and Prince Geordo only married her out of "guilt" of her being "damaged goods."

OG Katarina met Sienna Nelson 2 years ago in a social event before they attended the Academy of Magic. She respected Sienna for her diligence and intelligence, and instilled the confidence that she wished someone could provide for her.

OG Katarina was a daddy’s girl through and through. At least, until she meets Keith and thinks that he’s her father’s bastard. She became a mama’s girl after that.

OG Katarina doesn’t have any actual hobbies. Sure, she excels in some lady activities and does them during her free time, but it’s usually done because it makes her mother proud, or for the sake of keeping up with appearances. She doesn’t have any activities she truly enjoys.

One of the reasons why OG Katarina clings onto Geordo is because she is desperate for love. She doesn’t want to end up in a relationship like her parents had, and wants to at least make this right.

Because she never had an example of what actual couples acted like, she has a very screwed up idea about how love works, to the point that it's toxic.(for instance, possessiveness and clinginess)

OG Katarina and Bakarina are both determined people, however, they use their determination for various reasons and have their own boundaries to never cross. While Bakarina uses hers to survive the world of an otome game without anyone getting hurt, OG Katarina uses hers to survive noble society and get whatever she wants, even if it causes people to get hurt.

OG Katarina is a type of person that is willing to do whatever it takes to reap many benefits, even if it's at someone's expense.(however, it can depend at who)

OG Katarina bullied Maria and Keith because she felt insecure, and that the ones who she felt didn’t deserve to be in power and were a threat to her needed to be put back in their place.(hence why she didn’t bully Sienna, despite said girl having a less powerful noble status)

OG Katarina is oblivious, similarly to how Bakarina, except in reverse. Rather than thinking that Geordo doesn’t like her, she thinks that Geordo loves her.(but is in a way, in denial)

Like when lux was a baby she was kidnapped by noxus coz why not and before they kill her she shows she has magic and noxus is like new weapon pog? And raise her as like an assassin with Swain personally looking over her training coz like us noxus using a fucking Crownguard as a weapon that hates Demacia against Demacia, fucking hilarious, imagine what the Crownguards think when they find out there Luxanna was raised as a Noxian and fucking hates them

I don't know how Lux and Jinx meet but God just think about the fucking angst here, the Crownguards being thrown into a frenzy coz precious Luxanna has been kidnapped and with nobody asking for a ransom they think she's dead, whilst noxus over here is like Lux you gotta hate Demacia! Why? Coz your a mage, you where born there and we rescued you before they could kill you!

I jest (like the clown I am) given my recent track record of stories featuring them.

Actual thoughts below since I rambled too long.

Think it's a pretty neat idea, especially depending on what kind of relationship you'd make Lux have with Swain. Personally, as I'm a sucker for found family and "Evil person has a small soft spot if you squint", I'd probably have Lux view Swain basically as her adopted dad who 'saved' her from a life of misery being a Mage which would make her fiercely loyal to his cause. It would make her excuse (or even praise) the less than 'moral' things he'd do.

On Swain's end it would be far harder to determine his feelings towards her, but I think there'd at least be some affection in that he has a loyal (powerful) force that he's raised from a young age. It might be gruff or hard to really tell the truth, but I always kinda like those characters. Full how he would act would depend on after research tho since I honestly don't know that much about Swain (besides him kicking my ass multiple times in PoC).

Also just love the idea of the two having quiet private talks sometimes, Swain idly playing with his birds while Lux voices her worries or just opinions as he offers cryptic comments that always seem to put her at ease. Feel like their relationship would be an important part of the fic because it would act as the main lynchpin for why Lux was so fiercely loyal (and also somewhat mirror Jinx's feelings for Silco).

As for how Jinx could be added, it depends on how AU you wanna make it, few off the top of my head:

-(Really AU) Jinx is a demon that Swain helps Lux summon after she pleads with him desiring to be more useful. Make her personality more of jokester to counter Lux's likely angst no nonsense one.

-(Post s1) Have Piltover catch Jinx and in an effort of increasing positive relations have Demacia offer to imprison her with them, far away from any Hextech and under heavy security. Lux could then end up breaking her out while rescuing some imprisoned Noxian operatives. Likely this would be the angstier option given how Jinx was by the end of s1 or it could have a Jinx that doesn't give a shit anymore and is just having fun at everyone else's expense (no 'chains' to bind her anymore).

Those are at least the two I can think up at the moment, I'd lean towards option one for the fun of it plus it gives me a chance to slip in monster girl Jinx again and personally I can only take so much angst and there's already plenty promised with the whole crownguard stuff.

If I ended up going with the more canon complaint I'd go with the "doesn't give a shit anymore" Jinx, again for the fun of it. The few times she does get serious could be key moments of Lux better understanding her as a person and growing closer.

Could also have a lot of fun building Lux's relationship with other notable Noxians too.

Katarina -Rival? Big sister? Battle companion?

Darius - Honestly be great to have him be the big brother stand in to replace Garen.

Draven - Annoyance

Would also look into neat little lore tidbits that Legends of Runeterra puts in, lots of Noxian characters there. If you throw say Vladimir in (having him work with Swain in Noxian conquest while neither actually trusts each other, a shaky alliance at most) you could bring in The Lady of Blood (Faris Noradi) and all the 'fun' stuff she does with corpses. Which could open up even more fun by having Lux interact/be friends?/rivals/begrudging allies with Ophelia Noradi (Crimson Aristocrat in game) and Clara (Crimson Discipline).

That's not even going into all those specifically under Swain in that game which Lux could interact with. Like Aurok Glinthorn, Arrel the Tracker, Captain Farron (Since he's originally from Zaun you could have him and Jinx end up as surprise friends if you go with a more canon focused Jinx), etc. Just looking through the Trifarian Legion in general could prove useful.

With Draven, you could have him taking Lux to the arena to show off or something which then opens up bringing in characters specific to that (Kato the Arm, Shiraza the Blade, etc). Also, for some reason I just imagine Draven and Jinx would get along. They'd go to the area together and drag Lux along.

This is just me quickly running through the wiki for Noxus region cards.

Lots of stuff you could do with the idea since it's like a neat character reversal, like how Poppy has a Noxus skin in lol.

idk, all this is just be spitballing :) I still think Lux's relationship with Swain would be an important core to the story, but that's just me.

Okay, hear me out: Hamefura magical girl/boy series. Fortune lover was a harem/magical girl anime that past life Katarina loved, but takes a walk with truck-kun, and gets reincarnated as the traitor character in the show. Deciding to stay as far away as possible from the magical girl stuff, she tries to live out her life as a normal girl, but in a strange turn of events, finds the magical creature, anne, and becomes a magical girl. Also Katarina becomes the leader instead of Maria.

That’s a really cool AU idea! A quick side track, I really do think that Fortune Lover could have been better of as an isekai into a novel/series rather than an otome game like what other japanese/korean otome isekais have done, considering how much extra content FL is getting in the series to extend the series (aka FL2 and an FL fanbook). Of course it’s perfectly fine as it is since it explains the harem aspect the best.

I really like your idea for the a Hamefura Magical Girl AU! Katarina becoming the new leader of a magical girl group would be a great subversion of the original material and is a perfect equivalent to her essentially becoming the new heroine of an otome game.

Your idea of Anne being the partner familiar is so perfect I have no words, there’s a lot of series where the magical pet acts as kinda like a guide or tsukkomi for the magical girl so it really fits! I can even imagine some sort of heartwarming comparison between Fortune Lover and the current timeline where the original pet Anne is a normal magical guide who isn’t too personally involved with the girls and mostly just gives exposition and plot to the girls in the Fortune Lover series, but when Katarina becomes the leader she’s more outspoken and reprimanding, being more personally involved as she constantly need to help Katarina in getting her head together.

I’d love to hear what you’re idea of OG!Katarina’s role in the Magical Girl AU would be. She could be like an evil magical girl that acts as one of the antagonists for the girls, but she can also be that archetype that every magical girl show has where there’s this spoiled rich girl who either arrogantly claims to be part of that magical girl group or belittles them as if she is somehow better than them. Or a combination where the spoiled rich girl is given a chance to transform but works for the villains because of her hatred of the heroes!

I personally haven’t watched or read many series where both male and female characters play the role of magical guardians of a country (unless its super sentai stuff) so it’s kinda hard for me to imagine what kind of roles the boys play in all of this. I’m just gonna assume/imagine something in the same vein as Shugo Chara when it comes to the range of magical heroes in Fortune Lover.

There’s a Magical AU oneshot that reminds me a lot of this premise, so here’s a link if you haven’t already seen it.

Thinking about this is really fun! I’d love to maybe write my own ideas for a Magical Girl AU, but I’m not that well versed in Magical Girls/Boys ever since I grew out of them in my childhood so I know that there are lots more qualified to expand this AU more than me. I’d love to hear more ideas though and throw in my own dumb expansions and ideas hahaha!

You know where this is going. For @sayuricorner's TW x EAH AU.

So, this was inspired by these two videos:

And that got the gears in my head turning and I just went with it, so here it is!

A few key things:

There are three VA/Seiyuus per character because I didn't want to overwhelm myself.

Some of the characters will have the same VAs because I thought the voice suited more than one character as well as to get a feel for their characters and because I was lazy about looking at every single VAs filmography.

If you could make an AU about "My next life as a villainess", which one would you make? I would write one where monkey girl is a secondary chatacter (NPC), so that she could avoid being tangled with the aristocracy (or marry someone she doesn't want to) while still befriending them (platonically).... have no patience to write that.

Too much of a shipper to go a platonic route like that (and my multishipper self is enjoying most options), and there's no one else I'd rather really focus on if making her a secondary character. I really like her a lot and would rather write her.

But an au... honestly nothing has come to mind.

I suppose there's the what if she was aware of enough to catch that Geordo was proposing to her, and she refused it as she didn't want it out of guilting of her getting hurt at the palace garden. And thinking it over, a lot can change through this.

Geordo I see largely being the same. Visits a lot and bonds with her, still falls for her, but this time they're not promised so he is trying to appeal in getting engaged with her. He'd also have less tolerance for competition as he doesn't have that sense of security that he already has her hand. Not in this scenario. So there's more tension between him and others.

Mary I also still see the same as Katarina is a higher rank than Mary so could still get invited to the party. At most, Mary and Geordo might team up to keep Allan from realizing his feelings so there's less competition. Neither like it, but it is what it is. Though there is still backstabbing between them. Neither are going to make it easy for the other.

Maria and Raphael would still be the same I believe.

Allan will probably be the same, perhaps more dense on his feelings with Geordo and Mary making an effort to keep him from realizing his feelings. Still very much drawn to Katarina, but doesn’t quite know why.

Nicol would be a little more forward, not publicly as his friend still has feelings for her, but in private, he may be forward with her. Just a little in a respectful way. He won’t intervene, but he won’t deny his feelings entirely.

Keith would be the most up in the air. Like, he was adopted due to Katarina's engagement with Geordo, and mindful, that could still happen if her father sees the abuse he's dealing with. But it also may not happen and they don’t meet until the academy. And he may not even end up like his original playboy self as this time, he doesn't have a Duke's name behind him. He comes from a lower rank family and one that doesn't favor him so less people would be interested in him. And with that, his outcome is up in the air. He could still try to be flirty as a means to combat the cold shoulder, or he could be more withdrawn and cold. If you want to get angsty, could dabble in dark magic.

Also Katarina would have a lot more male students approach her as she’s not promised to anyone yet. As people sees she treats everyone the same no matter the rank, she’d be their ticket to rise in the ranks of nobility. Depending on Keith, he could be among them, seeing her as his chance to get away from his family. She could go to her father about this upon learning Keith’s situation and her father could take Keith in as his ward. Which, for me, will largely remove my issues with Keith as he’s the only one I can’t get into.

So there’s an au idea, one that’s interesting to think about.
