A/N: I made this more the NRC teachers as parents, but I did mention a few teen-related things inside of them, hope that's okay! Apologies for not getting this out any sooner, Anon! I do hope this is up to your standards though. Since I haven't really written these guys before, I hope this isn't too OOC! Enjoy!

🪶 He never really did care for younger teens, despite how 'generous' and 'kind' he swayed himself to act and seem like, they just differed with him too much.

🪶 It takes a fairly long while before this crow is able to trust another being with any information, unless that being was something of usage to him, like you were.

🪶 At first, Crowley just wanted you to help him out with 'a few' things, but after each and every trial he handed you, you just got back up and took on even more responsibilities.

🪶 When he eventually trusts you, he adores it when you call him 'father' or anything relating to that.

🪶 If you could somehow use any kind of magic, he would teach you specific spells, if not, then he would just help you in certain subjects that he is quite knowledge in, like history of magic, practical magic, etc.

🪶 Crowley is a decent father figure, and a, equally decent real father, he can just get caught up in so much, so it's best to reel him in at certain points

🐾 He's the kind of dad that would be super protective and would definitely attempt in separating you from those he deems as 'bad influences to his puppy'

🐾 He's a difficult person to work with at times, and he'd be the second to admit it (being Trein of course)

🐾 Divus would obviously get you the most elegant coats and clothes he can find, from boots to the most gorgeous looking fur coats you'll ever see in Twisted Wonderland!

🐾 Normally, Crewel wouldn't bring his dogs (I hc him with having two) to the college, as they don't get along with Trein's cat, Lucius, very well, but when they did come by one day and he saw you interact with the two pups, he just smiled and chuckled at the antics you three were getting into

🐾 He may not be the best dad when it comes to emotions, but he definitely is good when it comes to listening, and asking him to get you things that may seem embarrassing to other fathers (like pads if you're a female)

🏆 This guy is the typical 'sports dad' that is seen in a lot, and I mean a lot of media

🏆 If you were to ever do any kind of sports, he would fully support you and would definitely be the kind of dad to have you skip your own practices, and have you do them with him

🏆 Vargas is a hot-blooded person by heart, so if you are his biological child, you would obviously inherit that from him, which would be a nightmare for the rest of his fellow staff members whenever you visited him

🏆 For some reason, I can see him doing the same as his Disney counterpart by eating a ton of eggs and such, and because he cares about physical fitness, he'd have you do it (as long as you weren't like allergic or something, he isn't that bad of a person)

🏆 If you were to be adopted by this coach, you'd be in-I'd say the 4th best hands on this list, which I'll get into more at the bottom!

🏆 He obviously cares about you, but his emotional range is fairly small, so bear with him whenever he seems upset when you make a mistake. It's his 'resting face'

🐈‍⬛ Trein is the best hands you can be in when it comes to being the 'child of' in any of these scenarios

🐈‍⬛ Because he already has experiences with anything child-related from raising his two daughters, this cat-lover would be able to handle any challenge you handed him

🐈‍⬛ (for the fems!) If you were to have anything related to periods and such, he'd be right by your side helping you all the way through your pain, and don't forget his two daughters!

🐈‍⬛ They'd by right by your side as well, helping you very amazingly, as they learned what to do from their father's example

🐈‍⬛ If he cannot be there to comfort you or anything like that, he'd normally allow Lucius to be there to watch over you, like a sports game? Lucius! Play? Lucius! Really anything

🐈‍⬛ Because of how close you are to this imposing teacher, Lucius would be right by your side a lot, which if you're the MC/Yuu, would get a few cat fights to be initiated from their shared possessiveness of you

🃏 He is quite a fun guy at times, and if you are related through blood, you share the go-lucky and charismatic personality

🃏 This man would get you into his 'spiritual connections' faster than any kid falling back asleep after turning off their alarm clock

🃏 Yes, he's that good of a salesperson

🃏 You're the only one, and I mean the only one, who is safe from being called a 'little imp', instead though, he'd call you his 'little clover', even if you hated it, he wouldn't stop calling you it

🃏 Handling teenager things is quite hard for him, as he was kind off socially distanced because of his interests, but seeing you either in emotional pain or physical pain hurts him and makes him want to just wrap around you in a bear hug and never let go

🃏 He had be quite protective of you, especially when around the other spirits he knows. Like Eliza for example, during the wedding event, he made sure she didn't choose you, as you were A; to young for it (in his eyes lol) and B; he wanted you to marry on your own will

🃏 You're definitely close to the spirits he contacts, which scares the other students when a shadow randomly chases another down the hallway

Random person: you’re all dragon slayers?

anon you have no idea how much i love you for asking this, ive been waiting for an excuse to do this, i am a SLUT for anyone and anything being overprotective of Gray

i don’t believe in canon or timelines so use ur imagination

i like to think of Gray as person practically everybody ends up really liking, and a total cat magnet.

And dragon slayers r just big cats. So Gray already had close friendships with them

so when they realized ‘holy shit hes like us now’ their protective instincts went in overdrive

Natsu, Wendy, & Sting didnt even try to hide it; constantly trying to make sure hes comfortable and felt safe and didnt sit alone confused and scared by all these new things he has to deal with

Natsu definitely drags him onto impromptu jobs and fishing trips with Happy, in an effort to get away from people, or just so they can spend time together, the reason is unclear

i think dragon slayers as a whole are like violently touch starved, and thats what Sting focused on mostly.

he would drape himself over Gray when he felt like the other needed or wanted it but wouldnt ask

it helped Gray get more comfortable for sure

Wendy, as a healer and friend, tried to give him every piece of advice she knew, offering remedy after remedy to help ease him into his now heightened senses

Gray tried to explain to them once that his abilities are fairly different from theirs, yes he has heightened senses, but his instincts and needs were a hell of a lot different than theirs; that only spurred them on more, making them try to research everywhere they could about demon slayers

Rogue & Gajeel were more subtle with it (not by much tho), they understood when needed it quiet, when he just wanted company without the talk

If Gray was having a hard time, whether or not it was bc of his slayer magic, Rogue would offer up Frosch and sit with him, offering silence or white noise. whatever he needed

Gajeel probably thought he was subtle but he absolutely was not, like asking Gray if he wants to run errands with him when places theyre at get too sensorially intense

he tried to ask Levy about everything she knew abt demon slayers without being too obvious, when she kept sending him knowing glances he just asked (very resigned) for some books on the matter.

there was surprisingly little

But he made do and probably studied every piece of literature there was on the matter

The others probably found out and teased him even tho they did the same thing (they also probs asked him to drop a list of books for them)

Now, Laxus really was subtle

telling Gray to go home when he was visibly pushing himself

talking about his new sound canceling headphones and then conveniently leaving them near Gray

or little compliments abt how his new magic is coming along, quiet support type shit

also staring someone down to get them to shut up if they’re being too much

i feel like they turned from ‘one of our own’ protective to overprotective when they realized ppl werent as accepting of demon slayers as they were with dragon slayers

Most ppl exposure to slayer magic is limited to dragon slayers, who refer to themselves as dragons. so when a demon slayer pops up, the correlation isn’t pretty, and their actions are even worse

While Gray understands people must just scared or confused, so he doesnt blame them; he has a hoard of extremely protective dragons who think differently

Wendy had to be physically restrained by multiple people after she heard people calling Gray a monster

Natsu genuinely considered burning alive someone who refused to pay Gray after he finished up a job

Gray definitely now had scary dog privileges, the dog being every single dragon slayer he knows

Laxus zapping people who so much as look at Gray wrong, or frying whatever electronic (ik its lacrimas but work with me) device they have.

Them all hyping up (in their own ways) Grays physical demon features when they start showing up

Post joint guild party at Sabertooth: some guy talking shit abt how Fairy Tail could allow a demon into their ranks, how he is gonna hurt someone. They are now guildless and only eating through a straw and a face not even a mother could love

Someone at an event giving Gray a backhanded compliment and immediately getting death stares mixed with a violent increase of magic in the air that would make the gods shudder

Remember when i said Grays a cat magnet? its not just the dragon slayers who adore him, its their exceeds too

if u asked them to list their favorite people, Gray is in the top 5 for all of them

im stealing another hc from someone and saying Gray fosters cats, and Happy may or may not of gotten jealous once or twice over the pets and scratches that were supposed to be his

anon, this is ALSO a thing I dearly miss about the podcast! okay, let's do some recs from the absolutely enormous amount of books I've read recently. gonna keep this list to the first ones that come to mind from the last few months or we'd be here for hours:

nightbitch by rachel yolen - this is uhhhh semi-horror litfic about a new mother who believes she's turning into a dog. it's furious and brilliant and bloody and deeply weird and I fucking loved it. (though I WILL say: content warning for the violent death of a pet.)

the half life of valery k by natasha pulley - a soviet nuclear physicist in the 1960s is sent to work in a strange town that is also a radiation experiment. unlike her other books this one isn't speculative, but it's emotionally and character-wise one of the best (THE ROMANCE!! ugh) and the historical detail is fascinating.

heartburn by nora ephron - a short & hilarious novel about a food writer who discovers her husband is having an affair when she is seven months pregnant. did you know nora ephron is a genius?? I feel like I'm the last person to discover this fact. this would make a fantastic double feature with nightbitch, actually.

starling house by alix e. harrow - I KNOW I KNOW it's not out until halloween 2023 but listen: this book changed my life. an absolutely superb contemporary southern gothic horror romance (just go with it) about poverty and hidden sins and a girl going to work in a creepy house. preorder it now, and while you wait, read summer sons by lee mandelo.

the spare man by mary robinette kowal - a smart and slick sci-fi take on the noir detective novel, starring a wonderful heiress engineer with chronic back pain who has to solve a murder on a spaceship after someone frames her new husband. also has SO many cocktail recipes in it, which I feel more books should adopt.

cuckoo song by frances hardinge - nobody can write creepy fantasy like hardinge, and I think this is her creepiest. it has some amazing magical worldbuilding on the grim side of whimsical, and very fraught siblings, and it will turn your mind subtly inside out. technically...middle grade, I guess? whatever. read it.

I kissed shara wheeler by casey mcquiston - yes! finally! I had been putting this one off because I'm just Not A YA Reader generally, but had a great time with it. both very scathing and very kind about a specific christian high school experience in the american south, and full of queer defiance and joy.

and finally, I've also been slowly rereading the vorkosigan saga by lois mcmaster bujold, which is tied with the discworld for my favourite series of all time. nobody can combine adventure and devastating character like bujold.

For your grandpa Draxum AU how fun would it be if Casey unintentionally made most of the mad dogs villain situation’s end anti-climaticly.

Whether Casey is part turtle, a son of either Rapheal/Donnie(which is a AU here on tumblr) or just completely human and adopted into the Hamato clan there is no way he doesn’t have opinions about the things his masters taught him of the past.

Like the classes he took with Donnie and Michelangelo we’re just a compact mixture of practical science and magic. At least most of the classes were practical, Donnie slowly got more and more unhinged the farther Casey got in his lessons. Just a mixture of classic school subjects followed up with how to make a cloaking brooch, healing spells, and how to make a safer version of the mutagen to hopefully make it easier to grow food/ slash have kids in the apocalypse.

So armed with the knowledge that he has of what Draxum is doing,  goes behind his grandfathers back and makes the original mutagen painless.  Casey would never see any of the mad dogs villains as villains, they were once in another time, his family, so he would help them become citizens within the hidden city.

The idea of Casey Jr helping the mutated villains become citizens in the hidden city sounds fun! Unfortunately it wouldn’t be something he’d have much time to do. Casey Jr is very single minded in his mission of finding the key and stopping the Kraang. It doesn’t help that Draxum is constantly dismissing his worries about the future, but Draxum is his best shot because Draxum’s switch course into spending his time trying to find clues about the whereabouts of the turtles.

The mutating people plan is still on track, and I really love the idea you proposed of Casey Jr making the progress less painful. Draxum doesn’t expect Casey Jr knowledge on mutagen, he’s not complaining tho, as having an actual useful helping hand (Huginn and Muninn don’t count) helps speed the process along. This way the mutation mosquitos are still finished in the same time as cannon despite not being worked on as often by Draxum. In a twist of fate it ends up being Casey Jr who spends more time on the mutagen and Draxum spends more time trying to find hint of where the turtles could be.

Draxum still needs these mutants to be his evil league, so Casey Jr can’t do much without directly opposing him. What he can do is give subtle hints to the mutants he happens to come across. He bumps in to a “disguised” Meat Sweats buying seasoning at Walmart at 3 am, he casually mentions rumors of a “hidden city” that’s said to be inhabited by non humans. He spots newly mutated Warren Stone sulking in an alley way, he loudly mentions the “hidden city” while passing through said alley way despite it not being on his route. Ect.

Home girl is on her way to take over the fucking world

Comes from an extremely confusing home life, with her dads splitting up and getting together over and over again, both of them having had other partners during the breakup periods that never really last

In the present she has two dads and an additional step dad. She doesn’t like him that much, but her dads relationship seem more stable with him so she bears with it

Liana lost her leg just as she did in canon, due to frostbite. She got lost in the woods during winter for almost a week, and lost one of her shoes in a hole. She likes to dramatize the story though, to seem cooler

Started her own company at eighteen, and it grew into a multimillion corporation after only two years

She dabbles in a lot of things with her company, everything from movie production to train travel, tech to food items, theme parks to merch, and everything in between. Liana doesn’t calm down until she has control over every major industry in the world

Evil capitalist? Yes but consider this: Sexy evil capitalist lesbian. It makes up for it

She does own a lot of charities too, the majority of which being somewhat bird related, like the preservation of endangered birds, or rehabilitation of birds that have been abused by their owners. She likes birds

Still married to Jassy, her childhood best friend. She spoils her wife absolutely rotten (mostly with anime merch and manga’s), and would give up her entire company for her

Buuuuuut, Jassy hasn’t asked that of her yet, so Double Co. will keep on growing

Even without the imp genes, he’s still a big fricking boy

I mentioned multiple times that BDubs and Impulse were a bit like beauty pageant moms with Wes. Well…yeah

BDubs and Impulse wasn’t full beauty pageant moms (like those fuckers who like, perform surgeries on their four year olds so they will have fuller lips and shit), but beauty pageants was a huge part of my boy’s childhood, which wasn’t the best thing since he hates the spotlight and when people have their eyes on him. His dads would have stopped signing him up for them if he asked, but he was too nervous to do so, so yeah

But hey, at least my man can play the cello like a champ as an adult, since that was his talent.

He’s studying geology because rocks are cool :)

As an adult is relationship with his dads is…a bit strained, but he’s working through it in therapy

Engaged to his fiancé Jekiv, and has been so for many years now. Both of them are still studying, and even though his best friend (and stepsister’s) rich af wife has offered to handle the budget for the wedding, they want to wait until they can afford it themselves

Still has OCD and a lot of Anxiety, but now there’s at least medicine!

Golden retriever personified

She works out everyday just so she can lift and hug every dog she meets

One of her dads cheated on her other dad when she was little, so she grew up in separate homes. It was alright though, Big B would always bake with her and take her to the dog park, while Ren would tell fantastical stories and play as much dress up as she wanted

So yeah, Gertrude is actually pretty aight in this universe

I imagine Renchanting is some shop her dad owns, maybe either like a bisexual crystal shop or like a costume place, but she probably works part time there

Volunteers at a lot of dog rescue shelters, and has adopted many of them

Is studying to become a vet, but is also practicing writing on the side. She wants to write children’s fantasy novels, about princesses and magic

Is dating Novo, and has been waiting for him to propose for almost six years. She gonna keep on waiting

Johnny

Man is half British half Arizonan, still somehow speaks with a country accent. Only god knows where he got it from, and I don’t even think he does

Apart from more humane features, nothing about Johnny changes. Still an Aromantic icon, still a sweetie, still a rancher at heart, and he can still absolutely shred it on the Banjo

Suffers from mild anemia and asthma. He sometimes struggles to keep up with his friends, especially when they were children, but he always found ways to keep their pace, even if that means he sometimes had to be carried

He absolutely has one of those trucks that he treats as his baby. He’s worked on it for years, he has a name for it (It’s Butternut), he will cry if it’s even slightly scratched, it’s his child and he loves it very much.

Gertrude probably taught him some mechanics to take care of Butternut

Dreams of one day owning a ranch, but that’s a bit away

He probably volunteers and helps out at a lot of stables and riding schools, wrangling horses and whatnot. He’s got a natural talent, what can I say?

Jassy

She still styles her hair in all of those ridiculous anime styles, but now it takes a considerable amount of more hairspray and time

The way she bonded with her dads as a kid was through their favorite medias, so with Etho they would always talk Naruto and anime while with Joel she would always talk Shrek and Harry Potter

Has taken Ninjitsu and parkour classes since she learned how to walk

The only dyed part of her hair is the green streak. She has incredibly pale blonde hair

Married to one of the most successful entrepreneurs ever, and she pulled that bitch by being a fucking weeb

Is extremely into Cosplay, and has a Naruto OC that is Kakashi’s super cool powerful daughter

Has a job in a book store, mostly because she enjoys having something to do during the days. Is a bad employe tho, spends most of the time reading manga or mystery novels

Collects knives and daggers as a hobby because she’s just that bitch

Jekiv

Imagining Jekiv as not a Zombie is actually very difficult

In canon Martyn just kinda dipped, but imma say he stuck around here, so yeah Jekiv grew up with both of his parents. Separated of course, but they were both present

Still, he’s got a lot better relationship with his mom than his dad. They’re more alike

Suffers from Hyperthyroidism, which is the reason behind his skinny figure, his patchy hair, his weak muscles, and his bulging eyes. He’s had it since he was a tween, and he tries to not let it bother him

He gets sunburnt really easily so he rarely goes outside when the sun is shining. He’s pale af

Is studying forensic pathology, and works part time at a morgue. He’s always had a weird fascination with dead bodies, but hey at least he isn’t a serial killer

Would absolutely be a serial killer if he had the skills and strength to do so

Owns over twenty breeds of frog, two of which is poisonous

Has a resting bitch face, but he also is just a straight up bitch sometimes

Novo

Mans still a lil freak

Has Stahl’s ear syndrome and thinks it’s cool as fuck. Usually has his hair tied up to show it off

Bleaches and dyes his hair a new color every month. His hair is permanently damaged because of it, but he’s mostly fine with it

While his parents are on non speaking terms, they’re a lot more healthy than in canon. Novo is well raised and loved, he’s just Like That

Has a freakish resistance to the cold, like, Canadian level resistance, so mans will just lay in in a t-shirt and skirt in the snow while taking a nap

Picks up a new instrument every few weeks. He can’t play any of them, but he likes to find ways to annoy his friends with them

Is studying law, actually. He may not look or act it, but he’s freakishly smart, and he wants to become a prosecutor

╰➤ kunikida, what do you mean he has work to do? can't you see that dazai has to feed you and make sure you don't go hungry?

╰➤ so what if dazai used kunikida's money to finish buying you food? he has to play with you. dazai can't have his little belladonna die of boredom! he has 'dazai-nii' responsibilities.

╰➤ dazai is so at ease being around you that he can fall asleep with you all snuggled up to him, which is an extremely rare occurrence because he only sleeps for about two hours at most, and it has to be dark :(

╰➤ as soon as dazai notices you crying out of frustration because you're so sleepy, he rushes over to you and scoops you up in his arms, cooing at you and wipes away your tears as if you were his child, "aww, my sweet little bella, come to dazai-nii! don't cry! i'm here, it's okay!"

╰➤ kunikida has strangled him and smacked his head numerous times because dazai is singing his double suicide song to you as a lullaby, which is reasonable because that is not a lullaby you should sing to a child dazai HELP-

╰➤ kunikida and the other members of the armed detective agency are perplexed as to why dazai's song is so effective at lulling you to sleep. as soon as dazai is cradling you in his arms and singing it, you're out like a light.

╰➤ but it's not about the song because you don't understand it anyway (and dazai or anyone at the armed detective agency doesn't plan on explaining it to you at all)

╰➤ it's actually about dazai's voice. the comfort it gives you as it reminds you of gojo satoru, your adoptive father.

╰➤ but if dazai has to do work, such as an investigation, he will not let you go or put you down unless absolutely necessary. he's carrying you with one arm or holding your hand while interrogating someone.

╰➤ you're already very useful to the armed detective agency, so fukuzawa lets you accompany dazai. you have chaos magic and deduction skills that ranpo has honed.

╰➤ please, you and ranpo almost always read and solve mystery novels, and he teaches you a lot. ranpo does more than just feed you snacks.

╰➤ you also enjoy doing armed detective agency stuff and you want to make good use of your chaos magic while also being with dazai :)

╰➤ kunikida despises the way dazai makes you do his work. but you insist on it anyway, thinking it's a fun game when you're literally solving a huge investigation with little to no evidence and natural leads as if it's nothing.

╰➤ while they were struggling to find the suspect they had lost due to the crowd, you went out of your way to find the suspect by reading their mind as a witch.

╰➤ you cling to the guy and scream, "DAZAI-NII!! HELP!! I'M BEING KIDNAPPED!!"

╰➤ congratulations, you have summoned a very angry dazai (along with armed detective agency members) who are ready to beat the shit out of your supposed "kidnapper".

╰➤ dazai dislikes sharing you with others. he wants your attention all for himself, which is why he gets jealous when you get too close to someone like atsushi, kunikida, ranpo, or especially chuuya.

╰➤ speaking of chuuya, dazai despises it when you begin to prefer him over chuuya. especially when you start saying things like "chuuya-nii is very pretty!" or "he is so cool!" while chuuya is so smug about it.

╰➤ because why would you choose someone like chuuya or anyone else when you already have dazai, who is essentially just like your adoptive father in a different font? >:(

╰➤ although you don't refer to dazai as your father, but rather as your older brother, he kind of sees you as a child of his own. dazai is not sure particularly, but it's definitely family, like a little sister or niece he's fond of spoiling.

╰➤ dazai is relieved that your abilities do not work on him due to your chaos magic's ability to bend physics and laws, resulting in the reality warping power. he makes you use your teleportation abilities whenever you two are fleeing from a very enraged kunikida hehehe

Sign Up Guide 2024

Hey all. With signups less than a week away, I wanted to post an updated sign up guide. Things work a bit differently this year, but I hope this guide will walk you through it. As always, if you have any questions about sign-ups - or any part of the exchange process - please reach out to me.

There are two parts to a sign up: Requests and Offers. Requests are what pairings you would like to receive a gift FOR, while Offers are what pairings you are willing to CREATE for another person. I'll go over each of these individually.

REQUESTS

When you go to sign up, you'll see a screen that looks something like this:

Under the boxes labeled Request 1, Request 2, and Request 3, you'll fill out the minimum of 3 items you need to request. You can add up to 10 by scrolling down passed Request 3 and hitting this button:

Either way, in EACH Request box, you MUST fill out the first two portions, Fandom and Relationships.

For Fandom, CLICK ALL THREE BOXES. I have it set up that you have to, so it shouldn't be hard to miss, but this will make sure you see all the nominated pairings.

Once you click the Fandom boxes, click on Relationships and a drop down list of all the relationships nominated will populate.

Just like space magic.

The box below it, "Letter", is where you can link your exchange letter explaining what you are and aren't into. Remember when I talked about Letters?

You don't HAVE to put anything here, but letters are a LOT of help and remember: I CAN'T ENFORCE DNWs IF YOU DON'T TELL US ABOUT THEM.

Onto the Description box. You don't HAVE to put anything here, but some folks choose to link their letters here, or if they don't have a letter, go over their DNWs and likes here. This is also a good place to list pairings specific things you'd like to see. For example, if I requested Kaidan/Male Shep, I might say I'd really like to see a story or art about them adopting a dog. (for real though, if someone wants to write that for me I'd love it ;) )

And that's it for Requests! Below the requests boxes you'll see the Offer boxes, which I'll go over next.

OFFERS

Offers look similar to requests, but work a bit different. This is where you list which pairings you're willing to CREATE for. It looks like so:

Again, you have to offer a minimum of 3, but up to 10. As with requests, the Fandom and Relationship portions are required, but the rest is optional (but important).

The Fandom and Relationship part of Offers works the same way as requests. It's the description box that's different.

Now, OFFERS ARE ANON. No one but the mod team can see your offers. That said, the Description box of Offers is where you'll leave the following info:

Things you're willing to create;

Things you AREN'T willing to create; (this is important! If, for example, you don't want to create explicit content, WE NEED TO KNOW so we can match you properly) and;

Anyone you don't want to be paired with for the exchange. REMEMBER THIS PART IS ANON. No one else will see what you put here. Your reasons are your own and you don't have to explain why you don't want to be paired with a certain person.

When you're done filling out your offers, hit submit.

You can edit your sign-up up until the day they close, after which it's locked. So if you think of another pairings, idea, ect, you can always go back and edit it. You can find your signups on the left side of your AO3 dashboard under "Sign-Ups".

Hello anon!thank you so much for the request this was a whole lot of fun writing, and likewise i hope it satisfies your request too! Here’s will sprout your resident sweets enjoyer.

There were very few instances where Will Sprout’s appetite for any sugar glazed sweets fizzled out and he concluded this was one of them, fear pooling quickly in his chest. His usually melted sugar eyes had lost their crinkle and instead were distant, a deep furrow set between his eyebrows as he stared helplessly at his right hand. His lips curled into a thin line when he raised his face to stare around him as if to summon his partner’s silhouette to emerge from one of the large wooden set cafe doors.

“I cant believe i could be this careless in getting distracted,”he murmured to himself as he caught his reflection in his phone. ‘Y/n pick up pick up,’ he willed to his phone and groaned when no one received on the other hand. He had called your phone about 10 times in the past 15 minutes(he counted) and every single time his phone would click off to show his wrung face in the screen. A glimmer of hope struck in his face when he remembered Brad and Oscar were on patrolling the city and he fumbled with his phone to search for their numbers.

Off days days were rare for heroes,much less himself. Amongst patrolling and being dragged by Akira for one more sparing session, he barely had enough time on bone exhausted days to take you out somewhere nice other than the pockets of time he stole to see your smile melt against your features when he brought your favourite sweets and dishes. So when Oscar pulled him aside to tell him he had a day off he had bounded to your door and told you to get dressed hurriedly.

The two of you had been perusing the cafes in the city centre, dazzled by the lights and letting out peals of laughter when the other jumped and grabbed at their partner’s hands to usher them into a shop. The cold had nipped at will’s face and y/n had stopped him near one of the lamp posts,to wrap the scarf will had knitted,around his neck. Will could only watch with adoration and he had rested his hands around y/n’s waist as cold hands folded the scarf this way and that to ensure it was snug. He admitted the flutter in his chest then was more warming than the scarf around his neck.

So where it go wrong?Will had told you to wait outside one of the cafes because he had placed an order for customised cookies of you two that he wanted to surprise you with. He had dashed out to see you gone,leaving Will’s smile to melt from him. The cold had been magical in the way his breath was a huff of still mist and the multi coloured lights strung around the shops but now it seemed foreboding and malicious.

‘Will?Is all well its close to nightfall,’ Oscar’s voice came from the phone Will had pressed to his cheek and Will startled slightly,broken by the trance of remembering your flushed smile when he pressed a gentle kiss to your temple. Will wasted no time recounting to Oscar the details surprised by his own voice that shook slightly and Oscar stayed politely silent,listening with intent and attention. Will finished with a heave of exasperation and a hand raking through his hair,hair soft as spun caramel as he heard you once tell him.

‘I’m scared Oscar the last time i let Akira out of my sight he returned with bruises and with the eclipse not a corner away im not sure-

‘I’m pretty sure i saw Y/n near one of the confectionary shops two streets away from you with a box,’ Oscar cut off politely,his voice gentle. A pause of silence was shared between the two of them during which Will’s chest soared and he clicked off the call,his heels turning this corner and that. The box of cookies was pressed in his hand with urgency and his breath hammered in his chest. It almost felt like possession until he slowed in the street Oscar mentioned.

Found you, he thought when he saw his jacket he had draped over you shoulders as you stood still in the middle of the street craning your head around as if observing . ‘Y/n!!’ He softly called out and saw you turn to him. Your attentive face broke and you gave him a lopsided grin as he jogged to you.

‘How could you disappear so quickly without even telling me where you were did you know how worried i was you promised you,’ his burst faded off when you held forward a cream coloured box the size of both your gloved palms. It’s front had gold satin bow with a W stitched on it in red thread. You gave him a meek bashful smile and lifted the lid of thebox gently to reveal 3 rows of chocolate neatly arranged,all assorted and in the middle were 2 small figurine chocolates,him and you respectfully. Your frosted eyes stared at him and you wore his scarf around your neck. His surprise melted into delight and he let out a soft ‘oh’ before meeting your eyes and wanting to crumble there at the sight of your delighted smile. He dropped his flustered face into your shoulder after taking a few exhausted steps towards you earning laughter from you which only made him even redder.

‘I thought id surprise you with the limited edition ones you were eying a while ago but that wasnt what led me to stray so further from you sunshine,’ you said after he pulled away,using the nickname you had given him which he had a fondness for. You held a finger to your cold lips and he gave you a confused stare before his ears picked up on what you were listening. Unmistakeable whimpering from the din of one of the alleyways,fearful and persistent.

‘You think?’ Will whispered with marvel in his voice. Both of you were a childish image of excitement. Something told Will you had been waiting to take opportunity for a while,only waiting for your boyfriend to materialise.

‘Oh i bet. I just wanted you to be here to see,’ you said grabbing his free hand and leading him to the swarming darkness. Will’s hand curled around yours protectively and he gave it a squeeze when you started clicking your tongue and cooing to lure out what he predicted was a puppy by its cries. He kept his eyes darting around when you pulled out a flash.

‘Oh my goodness’ you squealed and Will lost your hand as you kneeled suddenly only to rise with a bundle in your arms that he could make the outline of in the dark. Will took your phone and pulled both you and the bundle to the light of the streetlights and the dying orange that twilight brought.

He inspected the sight closer now. There nestled in the crook of your arms was undeniably a puppy,its eyes large and wide and its ears drooped. Will gingerly reached out a hand,careful to not scare the already shaking pup,to place a hand on its side. You had leaned into Will, bringing the pup closer between the two of you. The pup’s soft coat of brown was slightly matted and it needed food but Will could already see it had charmed you effectively. And he had to admit, he always wanted a fur ball companion after seeing Buddy tackle Grey at the parks plus it wasnt like he was expecting to leave without announcing it once to take the puppy home.

‘Can we keep it Will,’ you said quietly after a bit. Your expression wasn’t helping matters either,eyes glimmering e/c(eye colour) and it looked like the sky had ripped out a portion of itself to lend you its brilliance and to deny you something was fruitless.

‘Err I would be damned if we don’t. As long as it doesn’t get to steal you away too much from me,’ he chuckled holding his hands out and allowing you to carefully allow the pup to climb in his arms. You had to admit the sight of your boyfriend with his flash of red coloured scarf against the city’s cold bleakness,the newest addition to the two of you and the kiss will dropped on your cheek as he held a pup in one arm and laced a hand with yours, brought a soft smile to your lips. If you could immortalise such a moment in a flurry of sparkle in a small snow globe you would but such wishes were for fairy tales. Therefore, as the two of you made your way down the street to your residence,spirits cheered, you mouthed a silent wish to the night to allow you more moments of such joy in the future. Now with the three of you.

Note: Inspired by @sergeantsporks on Tumblr and her anons who were talking about Hunter getting a wolf-looking service dog. No one has written this fic so I'm taking it upon myself. I chose a samoyed because they are actual service dogs and while Huskies and other breeds can be service dogs they are considered harder to train. So I chose a breed that is already in use as a service dog.

Spoilers for season 3 episode 1.

Hunter was laying on his bed in the basement of Camila's house. He had decided to remain in the Human Realm for now. Yes, he still visited his friends in the Demon Realm, but well...

Hunter hasn't decided if he actually wants to enroll in Hexside. Yes, he would love to spend the day with his friends and learn, but the school was also filled with bittersweet memories now. He also didn't have any natural magic, while he was learning glyphs from Luz he still felt weak compared to when he had a staff. Not to mention the main reason he wanted to go to Hexside was to play flyer derby which he can no longer do without a palisman.

Eda has offered to take him to the Bat Queen to get a new one or use some of her first-grown palistrum wood to carve his own. It was a nice offer but Hunter couldn't accept it. He couldn't replace Flapjack. Camila had offered him a place to stay so he decided to stay. It was nice. Vee and Luz were often away at school or doing whatever. Camila often had work so it would just be him most days. While that was nice it sometimes wasn't.

"Hey, Hunter! Come here!" Luz called out from the top of the stairs. Hunter looked up from the book he was reading. He got up and walked over to the stairs.

"What?" Hunter asked. He was still at the bottom of the stairs. He loved his adopted sister but she tended to get over-excited over things and Hunter was not in the mood to pretend to be excited about the newest change in the cereal box. Luz pouted.

"Come on. It's a surprise." Luz pouted. Hunter frowned more. 

"I don't like surprises," Hunter responded. He crossed his arms. Luz began to bounce up in down in excitement.

"You'll like this one, Mom's been planning it for forever," Luz responded. Hunter knew he wasn't going to be getting out of this. He sighed and began to walk up the stairs.

"If this is another surprise sleepover I am eating all your favorite cereal," Hunter responded. Luz gasped and placed her hand over her heart.

"How could you?" Luz mock demanded. "You know you enjoyed the last one." He had but he was never going to admit it to her.

Hunter walked up the stairs and saw that the house was deserted beside him and Luz. He didn't like this one bit.

"Luz, where's your mom?" Hunter asked. 

"Outside," Luz responded. She practically skipped to the front door. Hunter felt cold dread grip his heart. Was he being kicked out? Had he not done enough, had he not been grateful enough? Hunter followed her slowly. 

When Hunter saw Camila in the front yard his heart practically stopped.

Beside her was a solid white mass of fur. A loud bark sounded. It was a wolf. Luz grabbed his arm and dragged him forward. Hunter was too shocked to fight it. Camila looked up as she felt them getting closer to her. She gave a warm smile.

"Hunter, I want you to meet someone," Camila said. She made a gesture toward the wolf. Said the wolf turned around and looked at him. 

They had a vest on and was wagging their tail. They had a black nose. Their mouth opened allowing Hunter to see their tongue.

"She's a samoyed and she is for you," Camila said. So not a wolf. That was a shame, but she still seemed cool. Luz let go of his hand and began to jump up and down in excitement. "Hold out your hand for her to sniff it." 

Hunter did as he was told. The samoyed sniffed him. She then moved forward and pressed her nose against his hand. His first instinct was to move back.

"Aww, she likes you." Luz squealed. The samoyed began to lick his hand. Hunter let out a surprised laugh. It actually felt pretty nice. 

"You can pet her," Camila said. Hunter moved his hand towards her coat. He began to pet her feeling her fluffy soft fur. The samoyed barked again and her tail wagged harder. Hunter allowed himself to completely relax and a small smile appeared on his face. 

"You love this, don't you?" Luz teased. For once Hunter didn't rise to the bait. 

"She's a service dog she's meant to help you with your trauma," Camila said.

"And Momi talked to Principal Bumps so if you decide to go to Hexside you can take her with you." Luz further added. Hunter removed his hand from the dog. 

"I don't..." Hunter started. He wanted to protest but was cut off by the samoyed winning. Hunter went back to petting her. This caused her to pant in joy at the attention.

"You know, mijo, it's ok to accept help and she can help you," Camila said.

Hunter paused. He wasn't sure about that. It went against everything he has ever known in his life but then maybe that was for the best. Belos was a liar. Flapjack had forced him to accept their help so perhaps he'll let the two humans, the samoyed, and the basilisk help him for them.

Sniper

You found it while heading to the sniper's van. You heard some sounds and ruffles from a bush. You pushed the bush and...it was a puppy? It looked like it was stuck on a vine or something. You tried to untangle it but GRRRrrrrr oh sorry little pup just wanna help! You quickly untangled it.

You thought it was going to run off but its leg was really injured. oh. You slowly reached the puppy. The first touch the puppy bite you but you still stayed calm. The second touch and it calmed down.

You soon picked it up and ran to sniper for some help you were pretty near him. SNIPER!! what is it love are you in danger!! Nono just look. *shows injured puppy* Oh. I got something that could help it in the back come in!

You both treated the puppy and soon the puppy slept on the floor from exhaustion. *pat pat* I hope it is okay... Yeah. I think it's fine now. We already treated the injury now it needs to rest and heal.

For the next few weeks, you treated it. Nobody knew it was in sniper's van and only you and sniper go in there so.

The puppy was really gentle towards you...and was good at hunting and had good eye vision. Sniper taught it a few tricks. (idk what kind.)

Sniper and the puppy grew close. They always went hunting or just exploring in general. You also like the puppy a lot! It was so cute when you gave it head pats. (someone is jealous~) lol.

You both decided to keep it. Let`s keep em. yeah! It was a guard dog. It always alerted you guys when something was wrong and even helped sniper in some hunting situations! Overall the dog is a very good boy.

Soon it was the day to release it to nature it was ready to join back. And be back with its friends.

You were walking around the base just looking for a notebook you dropped. Where did I drop that thin- Oh I found it! meow~ Huh? You soon found a white fluffy cat and its leg was stuck on a rock. oh no! You quickly picked up the rock and freed the cat. But you noticed something the leg was still bleeding and hurt. They most likely have been there for a while I should go take care of it!! First I need to go get some medical kit... hmm oh I remember spy has one!! (spy's room was the nearest and you didn't want to get caught so...)

*knock knock* Oh, bonjour mon amour. What do yo- Shh spy I have an injured cat right now...Do you have a medical kit I can use to treat the cat? Oh. um...yeah I got a kit in the back come in.

After treating the cat, you then explained what happened. hmm, I understand. What are you gonna do with the cat then? um about that...I just cant release this fluffball back into nature with a broken/injured leg...umm can we keep it for a while. *after some silence* *sigh* 3 days. YEY! Three days. okok I get it (spoiler it was not 3 days) (he really couldt say no to you ok?)

During the three days, you both made had quite the experience. Unlike the other cats, the cat was really sassy and elegant. AND was adorable as fuck. Spy kept on smiling when he was the cat and you taking a nap together on his couch. while you cutely slept and the cat purring. It was so cute honestly.

Another memory is when he saw the cat elegantly sit on your lap while you sip some tea. That sight was the definition of elegance

Honestly, the cat was a really good cat. SO..... Um, spy. yes? Can we keep the cat for more than three days... How long then hmm? (spy trying to act like a cool dude moment) like Forever. hehe you know the cat was not as bad as I thought, yes we may keep it. YEY!! :D

Heads up that I've only been up for like an hour and most that was just reading this chap so I might be a little more scatter brained than usual lmao!

First, Tech being an adorable sleepy boy in the morning! Phil was fucking loving that lmao, every time he decides that Tech couldn't possibly become more endearing, BAM, Tech throws even more at him. Oh! Also I love Techno's dynamic between him and Skeppy! It genuinely feels like proper banter! You're an absolute god when it comes to writing character interactions that feel organic, that shits amazing!

Oh! And the porridge!! Tech call it a hunch but I don't think that your sense of taste is suddently gonna get better when you eat the cooking they'll serve to the royal family. Oh and Phil just sneaking in more bits of Totally Not Magical food to Tech when no one's looking? Delectable! He is making sure his new sonboy eats GOOD if he has any say in the matter!

Also the hair scene?? Perfection! Tech freaking out a bunch when they threaten to cut his hair?? I'm sure that doesn't stem from some deep seeded trauma from younger years at all and with Phil stepping in? Bro saw how upset his new baby got over that shit and wanted to put an end to it IMMEDIATELY!

On a side note, Skeppy and Bad are absolutely onto him but like they keep accidentally demonising themselves in Techno's eyes! Sure they probably don't think (know) Phil is the Queens hubby but like they just keep accidentally pushing Techno into his comfort!! Phil was absolutely LOVING Techno coming to him for like feelings of safety I absolutely know it.

BTW about that first adoption, that's what this whole shebang is about with all these humans coming over so maybe if you can twist the deal to get us our new baby that's be super sweet <3"

I also adore the thought of Phil just being so easy to distract the second Kristin is ever mentioned; Like just him scolding Techno post adoption after he's done something bad and Tech just being like "btw how did you and mum meet again?" while Phil's mid sentence and Phil just completely derailing to talk about how they met for the 1000th time and forgetting why he was mad.

He's a sleepy boy :) so sleepy. And Phil is loving it. Have you ever seen the pure bafflement on someone's face that wakes up and has no clue what's happening? Its adorable. And Phil is, of course, LOVING IT.

I'm glad you like the character interaction! I love writing characters teasing each other, its so fun. And this is my first time writing Skeppy and Bad, but the constant sniping at each other is INCREDIBLY fun lol.

I'm sure the porridge just tasted bad, right? There are no consequences to eating dubious food from a magic guy, right? It's fiiiiiiineee. Lol.

And, I mean, if said dubious food DID have effects, well, Phil is going to make sure that Techno doesn't get sick from hunger while he's apart from him, right? A little pie to tie him over. Make sure he keeps those cookies on him in case he gets a bit hungry. Not a perfect solution, but its better than nothing.

Yeah, Techno is protective of his hair. He likes it. It's something that's solely his. It looks nothing like his brother's hair when it is long and pink, so he doesn't get any comments about comparing him to his brother. I mean, he DOES, but not about his his appearance.

And yeah, Phil had two reasons for them not to cut it out. First was he put it there, and he doesn't want his little protection (and possibly tracking) charm gone. But the second is because Techno was visibly upset about the fact. Like, the kid is not dumb. He knows whats at stake. And he would rather risk it than cut his hair? Yeah, no cutting his hair. Shoo. Let him keep it.

I love the hair scene! And I'll be honest, that scene is almost completely inspired by Fairy-locks by Marsalias. Not a SBI fic, its a Danny Phantom fic but if you enjoy eldritch time deities adopting tiny unaware that he is an eldritch being teenage boy, I definitely recommend the whole Grandfather Clocks series they have written. And, of course, Mortified that goes with it.

Then again, the main premise of the fic is inspired by their Changeling fic, but I can't help that Rivers is an amazing author.

Anyway, yessss the hair scene!!! I love the hair scene!!! I very very important scene.

Bad and Skeppy definitely think Phil is sus. But it's also kind of their job to think he's sus. And they also DON'T like that Techno is getting so close so fast. Techno immediately latching onto palace staff? Fine and good. They already know the entire background of every person in the palace that can come in contact with Techno. They even know a large amount of people's backgrounds who even get NEAR the palace on the regular. They don't know Phil. This is Techno's first real trip outside the palace and they are trying their best not to make Techno be paranoid around people by seeing them act paranoid about people. They don't want him to be afraid of the world. But its their job to be paranoid and to keep him safe. And Phil is just so so sus.

Also, Techno's veracity in eating sweets is absolutely inspired by my time as a middle school substitute teacher. Teenage boys are so fucking weird /pos. They have so little impulse control. And they eat everything SO FUCKING FAST. So many times I have worried they were going to choke. There is a reason I never upheld teacher rules about not having food in classrooms. One because fuck making kids sit and be hungry. I'm not doing that shit. I'll just sweep if they get stale cookie crumbs on the floor. And two, because I have watched enough teenage boys inhale whole packages of chips while standing at the door. It can't be healthy. They need to chew. Please, if you are a teenage boy and you are reading this, know that I desperately am begging you to chew your food. Please.

Yeah, Phil stole all his hairties. He saw an opportunity, and he took it. Literally. Also, Techno had SO MANY HAIRTIES. The boy was prepared. (Honestly, overprepared). Phil was pulling out hair ties like those clown handkerchiefs. They just kept coming. More reason for why Techno is irritated he couldn’t find them. He packed like 50???? Where did they go???? Even the ones he planned to put in Carl's mane are gone??? This is ridiculous.

Phil may have been totally down with letting Techno die 24 hours ago, but that was then and this is now. And how dare Skeppy insinuate that Phil would harm Techno. He's a changed man. A father now.

And yeah, Techno's been a bit sheltered. Or maybe a lot. He should really be more worried about things.

And yeah, Phil is used to being sneaky but he just wants the sonboy. He doesn't want to be sneaky, he wants the sonboy. He could probably just grab him at this point and book it, but he doesn't want to SCARE him. Also, he has machinations in the work so grabbing the sonboy would kind of ruin that. He's balancing revenge and sonboy.

Yes, I had a lot of fun with the Faerie Ferry. I had to do that for the pun. And also for the little bit of reference to Charon's ferry. Like, this is a Fae AU, but I'm gonna make as many references to the realm of the dead as I can because its Kristin. Like, Charon's ferry. And the fact that it changes shape to fit the person being a really weak allusion to Anubis weighing the heart before entrance. And the Faerie Realm being an island as a reference to Avalon, where King Arthur was taken when he was mortally wounded. And there are a few more as well in chapters that haven't been published. Because it's fun to reference death in regards to Kristin.

Phil's food is so delicious because he is a good cook! It can't POSSIBLY have a magical purpose at all, right? Techno knows not to eat magic food. To be fair, who expects some random guy to give you magic food? Poison would make far more sense.

Phil has never been on the ferry because he can fly. He had no clue if it would fuck with his disguise. Techno just straight out saying he had wings while Phil had been kinda sorta hiding to make sure nothing slipped gave the poor guy a heart attack. That would have ruined his plan.

Nope, the boat didn't reveal you, Philza. The boat just has a funny sense of humor.

Yeah, Techno is incredibly pessimistic about the odds of his family breaking the deal. Its not really spoilers, I guess, but the royal family is all very split on their chances. King Baethan, Mielle, and Felix think they have a very good chance of winning the argument. Queen Chesil and Techno are much more skeptical. Phil wants to comfort Techno on that, but its not like he can outright say "yeah, no worries mate. I'm gonna keep you. You are going to have SO MANY birthdays :)"

And yeah, that earring is pretty distinctive.

Fae are terrible gossips. That info didn't last 20 minutes before every fae on the island knew. And this is JUICY. Because Mielle got there first and the fae made SO MANY ASSUMPTIONS when she got there. Now, here comes the shit stirrer, chaos bringer, Philza himself with a DIFFERENT CLINGY KID? Oh, this is some juicy gossip. Wtf is that man doing this time???

Kristin knows some of the stuff that's going on. Like, she knew that Philza's adoption scheme had backfired pretty spectacularly. The humans had been petitioning for a meeting with her for like a decade. But gosh, she is not going to see this twist coming. At least it will be funny.

And it will NOT take Techno long to figure out how to push the Philza Talking about Wife button. He's smitten. Has been for centuries.

Do you think the story of Momotaro was somewhat inspired by JTTW?

I honestly had never even heard of the story of Momotaro before you told me about in anon, so thank you very much for bringing it to my attention! But--especially given my general ignorance about possible connections between Chinese and Japanese folklore--I really can't answer one way or another with certainty. I will say that reading about Momotaro's origin did make me think of Princess Kaguya. They are after all both entities who sprang from a vegetal origin (a gigantic peach and a bamboo shoot respectively) and acted as the magical adopted child for an old couple.

I guess you COULD potentially start looking for a connection between Journey to the West and The Story of the Son of a Peach in terms of basic plot, since Momotaro goes on a journey to defeat a gang of cannibalistic devils and picks up a number of animalistic helpers on the way, one of which is in fact a monkey! (also side note that Momotaro's monkey helper and the dog helper don't get along at all, which could bring to mind both Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie's constant bickering as well as the fight between the Monkey King and Erlang Shen's dog Xiaotian Quan)

Describe your style i definitely love comfort. my wardrobe consists of mainly black clothes, with additional white, red and grey. i do have like 2 blue clothes despite blue being my favorite color. it's pretty much t-shirts, knee length shorts, relaxed style dress shirts (which i adore) and loose jeans. i tend to use only a few silver rings (including my joint support rings) and lots of necklaces - nearly all of them are either animal bone or natural crystals & rocks. tldr; i'd describe my style as "your middle aged dad but hip, cool & lesbian"

10. Describe the best date you’ve been on yall i have something to confess.. finns don't go to dates. (ok they do but rarely). i've never been to a proper date. the closest to a date was when my fiance and i went to a botanical garden with my little sister. it was very fun though!

Talk about your interests or hobbies! i have very not butch like hobbies and interests: magical girl manga & anime, figure and gaming trophy collecting, digital art, sewing, writing, reading. i also was in a choir and scouts for 10 years, and i'm still interested in singing at least. scouting is a tricky one since i'm disabled. i'm also very good with animals! i've done horse riding with a 1000kg horse, grew up with dogs and cats, and adopted an elder cat with kidney failure with my fiance. so i know a thing or two about medicating and nurturing cats. did you know that just like house cats, tigers will squint and blink slowly at you to express adoration? just it out sometime. fun fact: i was extremely interested in criminal investigation and becoming a cop at a time, then i got asthma and became an anarchist. oh how the turns have tabled.

Talk about how your day went i cooked food with my fiance, baked a lingonberry & blueberry pie, played the sims, watched some beastars season 2 and currently i'm coloring an illustration of Jeanne from Bayonetta! overall a very productive day indeed. i've been extremely amored by my fiance like always u3u
