my drdt driving headcanons (tierlist form)

DISCLAIMER: this was originally made spontaneously for a (work-in-progress!) drdt x limbus company au, since my friend kindly reminded me that They Do Not Have a Designated Bus Driver (makes more sense in context), thus making one of the little freaks responsible for driving the bus and making sure all seventeen [;)] passengers stay alive. thankfully for these little freaks in this au specifically, death is reversible, which is why one of the tiers is worded like That. aside from that this actually isn't any different from my "normal" driving tierlist, but i thought the disclaimer need to be made anyways. full explanations under cut!

-) i trust them: it actually took me a while to figure out who the hell would i trust with driving a bus. with the additional possibility of the other drdt characters bitching about traffic and possibly annoying the driver. at the end i decided that i had the least worries about min and levi... until another friend brought up that they wouldn't trust min because she wouldn't be able to see 😭 I DON'T REMEMBER HER BANGS OBSTRUCTING HER IN ANY WAY IN CANON THOUGH, SO I'LL LEAVE HER THERE.

-) anxiety: i actually trust eden more than nico or ace, hence why she's at the first slot. she can probably drive, she's just prone to panicking. also i can imagine a scenario where she's so focused on the road that she doesn't realize she's driving onto a broken fence like a mario kart shortcut. also i think nico would do fine until they get into an oddly specific driving scenario and crashes the bus

-) road rage: hu has 18+ years worth of repressed anger. if she was driving and she knew someone else was listening i feel like she would progress from small talk to roasting everyone and everything she can think of. j could drive but arei would be constantly out to get her, so it's not worth letting it happen. ace is indeed there twice because leaving him out of either tier seemed unfaithful

-) has never driven: i think these three were 1) the type to get used to personal drivers, taxis, and driving service apps and 2) never rode in those little cars attached to shopping carts or played mario kart as children, but they all would be okay-ish drivers if they had the chance to learn. Unfortunately in this specific au, the only chance to learn is trial by fire, and they all fucked up their first attempts of driving and only charles is willing to try again. and then he'd go to the first slot of road rage. (charles voice after someone cuts him off on a red light) "Are you stupid?"

-) snorrrkkkkk mimimimimi: they let rose on the driver's seat for twenty seconds and put her on the banlist

-) blasts playlist: whit would like an artist that everyone else (except one or two secret fans) is ambivalent to/hates. it's just that my music taste is the fault of my brother's (near-exclusively vocaloid) and can't assign a specific example. he did actually get killed in the middle of driving once (and got revived after that, don't worry!!), so he has to promise to not blast his playlist and not try to annoy everyone else on purpose if he wants to drive again

-) legally and morally banned: teruko's bio states she dislikes vehicles so i think she was just banned outright from the very start. and even then she wouldn't want to drive, nor can anyone convince her to, because you never know what way her luck can kick in and cause the entire bus to get in an unfortunate accident. ...in this specific au there is actually no means or reason for xander to acquire a motorcycle and thus he'd be allowed to drive the bus, HOWEVER i really like giving the oddly specific headcanon of "goes absolutely haywire when driving a motorcycle and does life-threatening stunts that look really cool" to people who are normally responsible drivers. therefore i think if xander rode a motorcycle his adrenaline would just spontaneously spike and activate his innermost mario kart wii funky kong flame runner instincts

-) "people with seatbelts still die in car crashes!! :D": Even in a world where death is reversible, would you even give Veronika Grebenshchikova a chance to drive any sort of vehicle with other people's safety in her hands? also david is barely there because i think every other time he gets into a vehicle he eventually thinks about the vehicle crashing in an unfortunate accident. even when he's the driver. Especially when he's the driver.

Notes: This is from before I started actually getting into RiiKami. Even now, I'm still fairly new to this. :/ Also this was very much inspired by his song "Worshipping Desires". It's literally my favourite song and AH. If you didn't know, at one point you hear "here" and "good", so I took that and wrote something for my friend from it. I guess this is kind of a more modern royal au(?)

With a flick of his wrist or a snap of his fingers, you were at Kami's beck and call. Though he never forced you to do anything you didn't want to. He was respectful in that sense. But somewhere, deep inside your mind, you wanted him to use his power to do... anything really. There wasn't a thing you wouldn't do for that man, honestly.

Ever since you had met him and pledged your life to him, you'd felt a magnetic pull. It reminded you of the books you used to read about soulmates. Unrealistic scenarios, you thought. But what if- You pause in what you're doing, almost falling over the person in front of you like dominoes. As you look up to see the person you ran into, your heart skips a beat. Without even seeing his face, you can tell. It's Kami.

"I'm so sorry, you're majesty-!"

Kami tilts his head, smiling, "It's fine. You didn't purposely run into me, right?"

You blink. Is he... oh, he's teasing you. Wait. Teasing you?!

"Ah- I... um no. It was an accident. I swear," you place your hand over your heart.

Whether I was to calm your racing heart or to show your sincerity, you're not sure. Kami stares at you for a moment more before he turns and walks away. You let out a sigh of relief, slouching.

Later that day, you relax in your bedroom. Your own bedroom. Unlike the rumours about the King, he was benevolent. Especially to you. Well, according to the other staff. In your opinion, he treated you the same as anyone else. You frown as you look at the letter on your nightstand. It's addressed to you from your parents. Earlier, you had read the contents. They were expressing their disappointment at how your life had gone. At a young age you had refused to be married off. This wasn't medieval times, you had argued. It was modern day. And it wasn't like marrying you off to anyone would help your family financially.

They were in debt, deep debt. Nothing could possibly help them now.

But you were wrong.

Kami had made an offer. You work for him, he paid you generously. And who were you to deny such a beautiful man.

Originally your parents tried to dissuade you, claiming he was too dangerous. That he'd surely kill you or something worse. But he hadn't. No, he had been nothing but kind.

A smile forms on your face as you think of it. The smile quickly vanishes as you blush at the memory of something he had said to you.

His obsession, he had called you. What did that mean? Were you delusional or was he-

You shake your head. There was no time to think of that, you needed to rest for that night's ball.

Getting dressed into a classy yet simple outfit, you take your first step up the stairs from the staff quarters.The first thing you see is the king himself.

"Your majesty, what are you-?"

"I was waiting for you," he cuts you off abruptly.

"For me?"

Kami nods, offering his hand. He raises his eyebrow.

"Well...?"

How can you refuse him? As he grasps your hand, you can feel the warmth seep through his gloves. It makes you feel giddy, but also nervous. It's embarrassing. Not because you're with Kami. But because Kami is with you, a simple servant.

The both of you step into the ballroom and all you can think about is how strange it is that he chose you to accompany him tonight. Isn't he ashamed of you. His servant. But he called you his obsession..."Are you feeling okay?" he questions, walking towards what you assume is his assigned seat.

"You don't have to be here if you don't want to."

You're quick to reassure him, "No no! I'm alright. I can tend to you, your majesty.

"Kami struggles to stifle a laugh, "Tend to me? In what way?"You swear his voice dropped an octave.

"A-Any way..." you manage to choke out.

He smirks, "Then maybe you can tend to me privately from now on... after the ball, yes? Don't feel pressured. I won't make you do anything weird. You can just change my sheets and stuff like that if you want to."

"I said anything- I'm not against anything."

Kami makes a sound of acknowledgement, looking away. He spots a few familiar faces, telling you to stay put as he goes to greet them.

However, staying still was not your strong suit. You wander around the room, eventually spotting people that you recognise. But they're not people you want to talk to, they're just old bullies. As fate would have it though, they call you out.

"Over here!" one calls. He's grinning as if he's found a new toy.

You're not a child anymore, but you still can't help but be scared of them. And so you comply with them.

They're quick to start jabbing you, both physically and verbally. They joke about your family's financial situation and how you're probably miserable working for Kami. The entire time, you're silent, spacing out.

You're snapped out of your trance when you hear a booming, but comforting, voice call out for you. It's Kami, once again saving you. At this point you might as well give up your life to pay for all of his help.

Kami grabs your arm, pulling you back into his chest. He glares at the group of bullies.

"Scram. I won't have you insulting a future monarch-"

You're speechless. A future monarch. A monarch... that's only possible through heredity. But you're not of the royal bloodline so what does this mean.

While you're thinking back on everything, the troublemakers sprint out of the ballroom. Shocked faces and gasps are heard around you as you're pulled away from the crowds. When you don't fully comply, Kami throws you over his shoulder. You offer no resistance, laying slack in his arms.

He opens the door to an unfamiliar room. The rooms lavish, adorned with tons of purple accents and fabrics.

Kami let's you down, steadying you before he speaks."Are you okay?"

"Yeah, fine..." you mumble.

He sighs, sitting down on his bed. "Did I say something that bothered you? I assumed you wouldn't be opposed to marrying me. You gave me no reason to believe you weren't infatuated with me."

You feel your face heat up, "Your majesty-"

"Just call me Kami, please."

"Kami," you start again, "That's unprofessional. We're two worlds apart. You're a king and I'm just someone who's working in a castle to pay of my parents' debts."

"Who cares about that? What does it matter? I see the way you look at me. Surely this love isn't one-sided."

"Is it not? I thought my feelings for you were unrequited-"

"They're not. I feel as much love for you as you do for me. Maybe more. But I'm not about to make a contest out of it," Kami laughs. "I thought you had picked up on it. Haven't you heard me call you my obsession at least a hundred times?"

You reluctantly nod.

"So? Nothing to say in return?"

"In return for what?"

"Oh, I don't know. Maybe something to say about the fact that I just confessed my love for you. And the fact that you feel the same?" he teases you, a hand languidly stroking your cheek.

"What is there to say if you already know how I feel?"

Kami grins, cooing at you,

"Oh, darling. My obsession."

He pulls away, eyes tracing over your every movement.He pats his lap, voice dropping an octave once more.

"Here."

You're quick to obey. He holds power over you. You wanted this and you're finally getting it.As you plop down in his lap he smiles. It's a Cheshire like smile.

"Good. You said you'd do anything to tend to me, right? Make good on your promise, yes?"

You know you're in for a long night.

TbH this headcanons is also heavily tied with Isaac because i like making SO many connections between those two. He's very proud of his gender and how he looks like, and he loves how he has Jack to make him company! Jack helps him get shots lol

I see this man as a trans man, and a gay man. This man has been kissing dudes since the 40s. He used to have this lover back in the 40s he always wrote letters to, they've all been burned but he sometimes remembers those times. (Also this is the willfrank shipper in me talking but his past lover looked awfully similar to William)

He's also trans because i love transmasc characters that are old i love it. He doesn't bind because he doesn't feel like it, being fat also helps lmao. He loves his body, he just fucking hates the stitches <33

Isaac Grossman

I can't decide if this guy is aro, gay, or bisexual, he's too queer for me. YES, the guy people see as queerphobic is ironically the most queer in my eyes. Imagine the repression he went through from his teenage years to adulthood, the loneliness. He only had one person that could understand him, and it was Jack. With time he forgot he was ever accepted, as he forgot Jack.

He never found any "true love", but there was a man that sticked with him even after death.

Also, yeah, i think the biggest change i gave to his original story is that he's AFAB. How does Will exist? Well, only children weren't exactly common for poor families in the 1800s England. The isolation he felt most of his life, the constant struggle of thinking, knowing, that out of everyone around you, you're alone on this one.

Jack, again, was the only place he could've feel safe, if they just didn't kill that cat. What could've been.

Hi! How did you come up with the next gen’s names?

Hiya anon 🥰!! Ooo thank you for the fun question, I don’t know if I’ve fully explained how I came up with my Next Gen’s names 🤔.

The simple answer is I googled names that were similar or had a similar meaning to their parents names, and chose them based on that 😆. But I’ll go into further detail below 🥰!

For Alistar I looked up names that meant “Protector” or “Defender” and Alistar came up multiple times in different lists, and I actually really like the name (i blame my sister because she *constantly* played Dragon Age 2 (?) and always went for Alistair so…😅), so I just went with it 😁!

For Ezio I had a harder time because…I couldn’t find what Finral meant, so I went with what Vanessa meant and it means “Butterfly” so I started looking at names that meant “Butterfly” or “Bird” and Ezio happened to pop up 😆. I was a little conflicted at first, since that’s also the name of a character in Assassins Creed, but what made me finally decide on that name was my cat who is also named Ezio. His personality is very similar to OC Ezio’s so…i just went with it!

For Aloys and Maelie I just went with French names since Gauche’s name is also french 😆. I decided on Aloys because that was my best friends cats name, and it was the name of a character in Black Butler (I wanted the name to be redeemed lol 😆😭) and it also means “A famous warrior” so thats what made me decide on that. As for Maelie, i chose it because it sounded a lot like Marie (I felt like Gauche would want to honor his little sister in some way, but knew she would get angry if he named his daughter after her, so this was a way around that 😆) and because it meant “Princess” and to Gauche Maelie is his little princess so that was a no brainer 😆!

For Alice, I named her after Alice in Wonderland, but also because her and Henry’s blue hair reminded me of the color “Alice Blue” so her’s was pretty easy!

For Wendy, Thomas, and Nicholas I wanted to keep the Agrippa tradition of using “older” sounding names or names that were more popular in the Victorian/Early 1900’s 😅. I named Wendy after Wendy Darling from Peter Pan, I named Thomas, Thomas, because…well it just sounded older to me 😆! For Nicholas i named him after Nicholas Flamel!

For Brielle, Mizuki, and Kaiyo I looked up names that meant their “affinities” 😅. So since Brielle is like Asta and doesn’t have any mana, I went with something that meant “Strength” and Brielle popped up and it was just too perfect for an Astelle kid! For Mizuki I went with this spelling “水城” which means “Water Castle”, and I interperted it as a combination of Noelle/Mizuki’s magic and Asta’s strength 😅. For Kaiyo I did the same thing and named her after Water/Ocean, and at the time I was going to also give her the water affinity…but changed it to Mercury magic at the last minute XD!

For Miku, Kito, and Kya I did the same thing that I did with the Astelle Kids…i named them after their affinities 😆! Miku means “Beautiful Sky”, and her affinity is wind and she loves the sky like Yuno so this was quite easy. For Kito, I wanted something that meant “Diamond” since he inherited his mothers affinity, but the closest I could find was “Precious Stone” so that’s what I went with 😅. As for Kya i had a very difficult time finding a name for her since she has both Yuno and Neva’s affinities, but finally I found Kya which means “Sky Diamond” or “Diamond in the Sky” and it just felt right so I chose it 😆!

As for Lovely and Vincent, I wanted them to also have names that were similar to their parents. So I googled names similar to Charmy, and Lovely popped up and it felt too perfect for her 😁! As for Vincent, he was originally named Wolfgang after Mozart, but that didn’t feel right. So I started looking at artist names and found Vincent Van Gogh and to me that felt much better then Wolfgang so 😅!

Hmm…I think that’s most of my Next Gens 🤔, i have a few more but these are the main ones 😅. But yeah I mainly google them just choose the ones i like the most 😆!

Personally I don’t really get people who say they acknowledge Sasuke and Naruto’s romantic bond but still ship Sasuke with a woman… Like, they saw that he was gay (he’s shown to not be attracted to women so he’s not bi) but kinda don’t care?

Actually I don’t really understand the whole shipping culture, or even mainstream fandom culture… I don’t know, I just don’t see the point in just making up content for pre-existing characters while completely destroying what made the characters unique in the first place by ignoring canon entirely (like crack-shipping). I get why people wouldn’t like everything about canon, it’s my case too, but if they don’t like anything about canon… Why are they here in the first place?

Well, I don't believe such ships have much to do with Canon either way. And I doubt all of them hate Canon per se, though some change 'Canon' to like Canon, which is funny. "This is my Canon." Yeah, not how it works, but ok- have your Canon your way ofc ┐(￣ヮ￣)┌

Side-note though, I don't think Sasuke even knows who Hinata is? 😆 It's as you say; crack-shipping. (I saw that giant/small-yaoi meme here on Tumblr again. No idea what it's called, and immediately thought; a yes, Sukuna and Levi. Kinda want to draw xD Makes no sense at all.) A lot of Headcanon is derived from personal... ideas/desires/inspiration or self-inserting reasons? (Isn't that exactly what 'x-reader' fics are?) Or even trend-posting. As much as characters are used to tell a story for the original author/creator (they're essentially tools), do fans use them to create new ideas. "Ah yes, we all know this character, let's create something around it simply because I want to." Which is completely fine, right? Look at rare pairs. And to be fair, a lot of content, fictional writing and art aren't even based on canon either. The closest thing through fan-work are Manga analyses or meta's, even panel redraws- stuff like that. People adapt 'canon' into fanwork through various degrees or sometimes ditch it altogether. Nsfw/spice is by default made up and entirely Headcanon :') (Though personality can be depicted in a way ig, through expression/behavior and whatnot.)

I totally get what you mean though, although I guess I'm caught up in fandom-culture now. Personally, I do like characters as 'canon' as possible, but it really depends. For some Animanga I don't really care. I think I ship pretty much all TR/BlueLock-characters for literally no reason, but I wouldn't claim it to be Canon in any way (˚☐˚! )/

However, I don't like it when Naruto and Sasuke's characters are butchered. Made-up context or not. The originals are so special to me and it's the reason why I'm a fan, though I don't mind too much in fics, depending on the story. I find it hard to feel the same when they've practically become someone's OC's with only the same name and design. I can't even read height/age-differences because I can't imagine it xD But anyway, this all includes "official" work made for financial/marketing reasons also- especially those damn novels. Those never have anything to do with canon, nor does it align with it. No matter how passionately people claim otherwise.

my main thoughts are also maybe a teensy bit hot take, because I'd assumed it was going to be a bit like certain narratives that are quite popular on here, but don't really do it so such for me, because they don't ground their queerness in anything substantial or they try to, but aren't informed enough to do it well (I admire the attempt and I have nothing against these pieces, I just don't personally enjoy them) and so it's more about the shipping or the memeable moments and that's not really what I get into things for

and it being disingenuous to fold it under narratives that are willing and fun enough, but ultimately made by people who haven't done toooo much work around queer themes before and fall (in my opinion) a bit for the simple narratives of "everything ultimately has to have stakes that aren't too high and play nice and don't distress their audience too much lest fragile LGBT+ people can't handle it" <- sweet narratives, easy to follow, a tad too candyfloss and ungrounded for my taste, often unbalanced in its comedy-to-drama scales and undermining sincerity by solving things too quickly and/or with too little delving into what these things mean

neil gaiman and john finnemore have been writing queer characters and themes for some time, and david tennant/michael sheen have played queer characters before (and heck, david tennant has at least one queer kid), it's not so surprising that this narrative actually isn't as mass-appeal as was assumed it was going to be before coming out (heh, coming out)

and by mass-appeal I don't mean that it doesn't have mainstream attention, but that there's seemingly confusion about what it's doing, when if you're into stories about non-conformity vs oppression (in this case mainly through a queer lens) it's pretty obvious, and I'm assuming very rewarding on subsequent watches

it's not fluff -- fluff works better for me in fanfiction than in original works, it's not aimless -- either in direction or in theme, it's not mainstream queerness -- although nina and maggie kind of have that "LGBT-unburdened-by-reality" kind of thing that I often don't vibe with, they're a part of three narratives about connection that ultimately ground queer non-conformity in action and feeling as explicitly dangerous to oppressive systems (in this case systems grounded in Christianity, which works very well)

there's a confusion in some reviews I've seen in the mainstream about why it matters that we follow these characters through thousands of years (well, millions technically, but the main thrust happens in the thousands), and coming to the conclusion that it's just because everyone's having a bit of fun, and then they're totally blindsided by the final 15mins and unable to place it in what they've watched previously

but it makes perfect narrative sense and I can pinpoint after one watch clues and foreshadowing leading to those final minutes, and why it matters that we follow the characters the way that we do, and (while I won't go too much into this because I think I'm late to the party and plenty of others have already spoken about it) threads that have been laid out that will clearly be picked up on in s3

I quite enjoy that this is a narrative about queerness that isn't so palatable to reviewers, and isn't for that matter so palatable to viewers who are used to measuring successful queer narrative via easy-to-follow tropes, I think that's one suggestion that it's done its job right in how it was constructed

I want especially straight mainstream reviewers to have to do the translation and if they can't, then it's not for them. that's a rarity in queer narrative that's released with so much attention and that also feels like part of the magic trick of the season -- am reminded of when black sails season 2 "revealed" that flint was queer and that this was a narrative centred around queer rage as an insight into other forms of oppression (which some things were done better than others of course, but that was the purpose, and madi really is that voice at the end!)

and that feeling is somewhat similar here in a way. so my hot take is that... it's not silly. well it is silly and fun and even at times indulgent, but it's also quite good at being a story that is Queer in ethos, and I prefer stories to be queer in ethos and not just have some ostensibly queer characters around saying the right words without knowing why or where those words originate

it's better than it's being given credit for, in ways it's not being given credit for, because it's not made palatable for a mainstream straight crowd or softened for fear of upsetting anyone

Back to the Our Cinderella topic, I have only played Genzou’s route as of now (I’m sure that’s hardly surprising, he is my fav), but the others are next. Their time is coming. They cannot escape. SO SPOILERS FOR GENZOU’S ROUTE!

First off, I saw you included the little dancing in front of TV Iggy pose and the joy I felt seeing it was off the charts. I kept bringing it up, I was very happy. And seeing Iggy moving about was really cool in general, even without the novelty of seeing a suggestion I made exist in the game.

NEXT UP! Genzou drunk singing is an image I didn’t know I needed, thank you for the visual and the brain food. BUT ALSO I HAVE BEEN CONNECTING JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR SONGS TO OW FOR SO LONG AND HEARING THE MUSICAL BE MENTIONED BY GENZOU THREW ME FOR A LOOP. Great musical, very nice. Last Supper reminds me of Genzou and Orlam. Judas’s voice in general reminds me of Orlam. Musicals and OW can further connect in my brain hobby drawer.

The text interactions in general were really funny, actually. I liked the absolute chaos that was Iggy and Genzou’s text conversations, I was laughing while trying to read a lot of the time. I remember the aforementioned drunk singing conversation and the puddle one both got me pretty good while I was reading, and it was overall fun to see more lighthearted conversations from the characters, even if it’s in a different universe from the main canon.

To end things off, ‘cause again 1) I haven’t finished all the game’s routes yet, and 2) you’ll be able to hear my thoughts in the moment if you choose in future anyways, I wanna mention the version of Cinderella Bucks tells at the end? I can’t get it out of my head. When I was thinking about the game after having just played it, my mind kept flashing back to CinderJesus. It absolutely decimated my brain function, but in a very fun way. More slice-of-life Bucks, please, she’s peak comedy.

Very fun game, 10/10, very sad I couldn’t buy the Kirby in the first playthrough but it’s on my to-do list, aaaand yeah! Thank you for making this! I loved every minute of it, and I’m really excited to play the remaining routes once my irl festivities are over.

Ok, I will try not to talk too much about this on here, since this blog isn't really about this type of content, but I need to nerd out to someone, none of my friends are into this, and this is my main blog, so here we go:

***BALDUR'S GATE 3 SPOILERS AHEAD; READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION***

This is mostly just me needing out and gushing, though, lol.

Ok, ok, so for the past five days, I have been fucking binge playing this game. I literally spent the first day I got it sitting around for, like, seven hours (don't be me, and make sure to get up for breaks if you're gonna do the same thing). I was - and still am - absolutely hooked.

I LOVE this game!!! It's the first DnD based game I've played, especially of this quality (even though my laptop runs it like shit and the lag is killer ☠️). I'm playing on Explorer, so it's been fairly easy and very story-focused. I find the lore so intriguing, and I'm so interested in seeing where the story goes! I haven't seen anything past the camp party after saving Halsin, though, so no spoilers please. 🙏

So, I started off with one playthrough, but I came in with the knowledge that you are able to romance the characters and such. I REALLY wanted to romance Astarion (as most people I see talking about the game lmfao), but my bitch ass just could not get his approval, no matter how hard I tried. It got to the point where he actually made fun of me after we saved Halsin and had the camp party. 😭 I honestly suspect he might've glitched out somehow, since I had read online that people have had similar issues with earning the trust and approval of companions. This definitely bummed me out, but I was still enjoying the game a lot.

Along with that, in my original playthrough, I literally forgot to seek out Lae'zel. I had planned on doing it, but I just didn't know where to go, and by the time I had met Gale, I honestly forgot about finding her because I had to get offline at that point. 💀 I felt really bad about it, and I only went to go look for her after saving Halsin because I was reminded of her, and she had already broken out of the cage and killed the two tieflings who trapped her. I felt so bad that I just left her there on her own all that time. ☠️

After realizing that I wouldn't be able to recruit her until a bit later, I just decided to restart my playthrough on different save files. I figured I'd also at least get a proper chance with Astarion as well (love him so much; he is my meow meow 💕), and all while still playing as the character I took quite literally two hours to make (I was very indecisive about them lol).

So far, the new playthrough has been going very well, and I'm actually pretty happy that I restarted, since I had also apparently missed the scene of Astarion sharing his vampiric nature as well as some very key information from, and about, Lae'zel. I'm only about seven hours in right now, but I feel like I've somehow gotten more done in this playthrough than I did in my original which had something like fifteen hours. I've explored places I didn't even realize existed, picked up a ridiculous amount of loot, and even acquired all the companion characters that I know of in the First Act. It's been extremely successful! Not to mention things with Astarion are going very well. 🥰

Anyway, I've been enjoying this game a lot! This is my first ever time playing it; I didn't have Early Access and hadn't even heard of it until my friend told me about it this past Sunday lol. I'm honestly really glad that I got this game, despite the price of it and the price I had to pay for a new storage drive for my laptop in order to run it. It was certainly lots of money spent, but it was definitely money well spent.

I feel like my perspective on the world around me has changed slightly from playing this game (in a positive way). I feel a lot more curious about things than before, and I'm more inclined to take spontaneous risks which has always been a struggle for me beforehand. I also kind of feel like I can talk to other people a lot easier as well, as strange as that sounds. I play a Bard in the game, so my character has high charisma and stops to talk to other characters a lot, and I'm not really sure why, but seeing my character interact so easily with others has kind of inspired me in a way and helped to make social situations a lot more comfortable for me (I have social anxiety, so talking to people has always been pretty tough). As unusual as it may sound, this game has already changed me in such positive ways as a person, and I can't wait to see what other lessons it may have to teach. ☺️

All of that said, I couldn't recommend Baldur's Gate 3 more! It's genuinely one of those games that I think anyone can pretty much enjoy, and I also appreciate how inclusive it is with gender stuff and queer relationships. The other characters even refer to me with the correct pronouns, despite me never needing to enter my pronouns in! It's a very impressive game, and the graphics are absolutely gorgeous (especially when your laptop isn't absolute shit like mine lmao). Frankly, it's just great!

Of course, being so new, it does have its problems. I've personally experienced lots of lag issues - dialogue and animations won't be in sync, characters taking a long time to go from one location to another, environments not loading in very quickly, etc. I've also had the game crash on me a few times, but I honestly believe it's more related to my laptop than it is to the game, and for the most part, it hasn't caused me too much grief.

Despite its flaws, I personally believe this game is very much worth a play. It's loads of fun, and the characters are pretty charming and entertaining. The storyline is interesting with lots of twists and turns, and if you ever get bored of the mainline quest, there are literally endless sidequests for you to enjoy. Exploration is highly encouraged, and as you explore the realm, your map actually reveals the locations you've been to. Fast travel is also a super great feature, although there are some locations I wish that were on there that aren't, sadly.

Even if that material is never put on the internet, is never shared, that child stays hurt and traumatized.

While if I, hypothetically, wrote a shitty disgusting rape story and kept it in my computer, guess what? Nothing happens! No one got hurt! That is the difference!

And yes, as I mentioned, it's always about Pedophilia & Incest. No other crimes exist. Where is the moral crusade against Cupcakes and the dude who wrote it? Why do we accept that reading about a character being horribly tortured won't convince you that actually kidnapping your friend and dismembering them is A-OK, but somehow so many people think that a few incest/underage fanfictions would immediately rewire our brains? My rant thoughts on the Our Skyy 2 trailer as someone who has watched all the shows and the original Our Skyy and wants to write down all my thoughts so I can come back to them later and laugh about how stupid I was or be amazed by my own genius..

Warning: I wrote a lot!

I was SO excited when Sia Dai started playing in the very first second! For those who don’t know Sia Dai is the ost of the original Our Skyy and it’s an acapella song by 5 U which slaps. I thought they might use a different song but its nice to have the same one. Plus I’m sure we are going to get more songs overall. With so many singers in the cast I’m going to be surprised if GMMTV doesn’t capitalise on it. And with so many characters who play guitar 🙄 I’m sure there’s going to be plenty of musical scenes. It wouldn’t be a GMMTV show if somebody didn’t pull out a guitar.

The Eclipse I am beyond excited to see Akk and Ayan again. They have taken over my every thought for over half a year now and I’m sure I’ll love whatever I get from Our Skyy. But what the hell is going on. They’re in cowboy hats? masks? The leading theory which I agree with is that Wat is making a film and they are acting for him. While I would have been very happy with AkkAyan being cute with each other for 2 episodes straight, these boys deserve to have a bit of fun. We barely got to see them as just boyfriends, without the pressures from the school. I lowkey don’t give a fuck about Kan and Thua but for the sake of my own enjoyment I will pretend like Thua never did what he did. I wish it was all AkkAyan though, they’re the only ones I care about. It would be cool if we got a discussion between Thua and Akk or Ayan about it since it got rushed over in the show but I don’t think its likely. I want Akk and Ayan to be deliriously happy and in love even if its in the form of cowboy shenanigans. I still hope the earring theory is true although it does look like Ayan is wearing two earrings in the trailer. Thua does get punched in the trailer which made me very happy. Akk’s face at 1:16 is the only thing I’ve been able to think about since I saw it. It is now my pfp. I can’t wait to give GMMTV all my money to buy one of those solstice hats. Luckily my sister was with me for emotional support when the trailer released, I might have cried. They mean so much to me and I’m not sure what I’m going to do when they’re gone.

Bad Buddy I’m so excited to see Pat and Pran again! I don’t actually mind Pat’s hair although I’ve seen a lot of people hating it. I think its hilarious that he stole Korn’s hair and it would be funny af if that was something the characters actually did because they’re bffs not just because of how the actors look. It’s sad theres no InkPa but it would be a disservice to them to just squeeze them in on the side. MilkLove deserve more which is why I hope 23.5 is coming soon. I’ve seen PatPran in the trailer described as sluts and I have to agree. What’s with the finger thing Pat? It was a hell of a jumpscare to see that right after Akk and Ayan’s cute cowboy moment. BUT! I didn’t notice at first but I think Pran is wearing a Nong Nao sleeping mask which is super cute and also definitely a chance for GMMTV to sell more stuff. I look forward to seeing Architecture and Engineering gang shenanigans and I am praying for WaiKorn in whatever form they are willing to give me. That scene of patpran lying on top of each other really reminds me of the ‘do you want to be friends” “do you?” moment from the first Bad Buddy trailer, the poster for which has been my header image from the moment I first knew what Bad Buddy was.

Vice Versa PUEN AND TALAY 😭 FRIEND CREDITS 😭😭😭 I miss friend credits so much but don’t think we are going to get them again. Maybe some version of it with Tup and Tou but it won’t be the same. I hope we get a glimpse of how the characters in the other universe are doing but I also don’t think it’s likely. Puen and Talay were very cute in the trailer. They’re sitting with a kid, could it be their son? a random kid they abducted? They are engaged it would make sense for them to be the couple to get married (if a couple is going to get married). It does look like they’re living together and are still dorks in love. Puen wearing the friend credits shirt and Talay wearing the helmet makes me miss them. I really hope the episodes have colour names like the original show and hopefully the same level of amazing detail as well. It’s what Vice Versa deserves for being GMMTV’s most detailed and underrated show.

My School President When I watched the Our Skyy trailer from GMMTV2023 I was not expecting to care so much about msp. Back then I couldn’t give a fuck about whatever stupid high school show these kids were going to be in. I was a cynic back then, I wasn’t expecting msp to be such a sweet and wonderful breath of fresh air and for Gemini and Fourth to put their all into Tinn and Gun. I’ve been listening to Saliva non-stop recently and all the songs are so good. There were already theories floating around that msp would have a body swap episode but the truth is even cooler. It looks like they’re doing a soul swap, Tinn and Gun, Sound and Win, Tiw and Por and Pat and Yo have swapped actors. The question is how much is going to change, how much of the show are they going to recreate like this? It’s a fun idea, I can understand why msp fans are disappointed though, they don’t really get new content and a lot of people wanted to see them in university. UNLESS! it’s all a misdirect and Tiw is filming something where Tinn plays as Gun ect.. but remembering the OffGun Our Skyy episode when they swapped bodies it would be on brand for GMMTV to some kind of swap in one of the episodes. Also why are they at the NLMG school? I saw a theory say it’s a crossover with Vice Versa and they’re in an alternate universe but I doubt its that intricate. It was probably just easier to film there. Fourth as Tinn in Gun’s dessert shop wearing the glasses is SO cute. I can’t wait to see Fourth do his best at playing our head over heels simp Tinn. And for those thinking the scene at the end of the trailer is going to be a kiss, there is no way that isn’t one of Tinn’s many delusions. I hope we get a bit of TiwPor, they deserved more time in the actual show and I still think if would have been great if they were secretly dating the entire time.

Never Let Me Go These episodes look like they’re going to be very interesting!! It looks like Palm and Neung might travel to the past? They are wearing a lot of interesting clothing and are in interesting locations. You would hope they get a chance to chill out and be regular teens but that’s unlikely. If it is a time travel plot I’m sure it will be a lot of fun. They’ve got brain and brawn and a lot of dedication to each other. Their forehead leaning moment at the end of the trailer is beautiful, I can’t wait to see that scene.

a Boss and a Babe Even if it hasn’t finished yet I already adore Cher and Boss and I’m sure the Our Skyy episode will be as fun and enjoyable as the show. I saw some people theorising that they might get a body swap because there’s a scene of Cher wearing a suit but I think its more likely to be him goofing around. It’s nice to know that even when the show ends there will be some more of them.

Star in My Mind I’m not particularly fond of Star in My Mind, it was cute but kind of boring but seeing adorable established couple Khabkluen and Daonuea in Sky in your Heart was one of my favourite parts of that half of the show so it will be nice to see some more of that. I wonder what will happen with their friends and the vague side couple stuff that seemed to be going on, especially considering that Winny and Satang are quite popular now. I wonder what the situation is with all of their friends yelling at them to kiss, maybe a proposal but they’re still in university so I doubt it. I’m sure it will be cute.

Tale of a Thousand Stars This is the one I’m least excited for, I didn’t really love atots it wasn’t particularly interesting to me. I was disappointed we didn’t get to see Tian’s proper return to the village, using his teaching skills with the kids and seeing how having no/little contact for so long affected their relationship. So hopefully these episodes will provide some of that.

Just... look at this art style, it literally always takes my breath away ITS BEAUTIFUL. So expressive and unique, I love it sm. They also have an encanto fanfiction too, it's set a few years in the future and is Mirabel x oc, I would never usually look for those stories on my own, since I'm not really into non canonical ships, but the art they made for it intrigued me and although I haven't read it in a while, from what I did read it was amazing. I just finished watching Season 1 of Criminal Minds and I have thoughts and feelings:

Firstly, SUCH BABIES!!! I saw sporadic episodes from later series in my teens but but they are all so sweet and round cheeked and unbroken and adorable! I spent the first half of the series just going ‘awwww’ in increasing volume

Secondly, Gideon is a raging arsehole. I found myself counting how many times he would have breached professional ethics in a single episode on numerous occasions. I find him a vaguely empathetic but deeply annoying character because I can’t stop going ‘STOP MAKING IT WORSE FOR YOUR DAMN TEAM BY MAKING EVERYONE USEFUL WANT TO HIT YOU IN THE FACE WITH A BRICK!’

Thirdly, and I gather from the cm tumblr discourse that this will be A Thing, does no one ever actually support their colleagues emotionally??? They are meant to be psychologists and are all like ‘put it in a box and it’ll be fine’ ‘we all wake up screaming and that’s a wonderful thing’ ‘you look like your having a rough time, have more stimulants and an insensitive joke’. They clearly care for one another but seem so unbelievably inept.

Fourthly, I’m being forcibly reminded of how much American cutlery etiquette hurts my soul. The close up at the start of Charm and Harm had me actually raging. Why? Why? Why? Americans - I know the civil war was a thing and your table manners have origins in that time period, but you have had access to both knives AND forks for quite some time now. There is no need to hold your cutlery like tiny spears anymore.

Fifthly, it’s awesome to see back to what we all thought cutting edge tech was in 2005. The admin staff extras pushing giant trolleys, and bulky computer monitors, and the episode where they were getting scanned to go into CIA headquarters and the guns (and only the guns, no other metal) mysteriously glowed Flubber-green on the monitors and had little fuzzy halos! All the flip phones! The nostalgia is real.

Sixthly, (note to self to use a numerical list next time, yes I’ll be doing this again!) the props and special effects are highly entertaining. The horridly fake wounds on people who have experienced terrible things and are only strategically scuffed up, the full face of makeup on people who are in bed (though that is a tv perennial), vaguely pink blood smears, the mysterious lack of insulation on the kid in the roof when enough of it had flaked off and fallen down for them to find it on a broom downstairs. I am not complaining even slightly, it’s highly amusing and I sincerely hope this adherence to budget and time constraints continues in subsequent seasons.

Seventhly, the score writers must have had so much fun! It’s brilliantly melodramatic and I keep giggling. I watched a few episodes from later series with my parents as a not-quite-so-tiny hobbit and remember always asking them to put on subtitles and turn the sound off because I was too jumpy even though I liked the plot. Now, as an adult, I totally get it. There’s not one 3 minute scene in that series without some kind of tension building strings or beat behind it. I’m almost keen to hunt down a score as a gym soundtrack, kinda like one of those zombie run podcast things.

Eighthly, why is Hotch so dumb?! I just watched the Fisher King and it ends with the supposed Normal Sensible Capable Family Man trying to clean dried blood, off a white wall, with cold water and a rag. And he then runs said rag in circles over the writing, smearing blood everywhere with no difference to the underlying letters. Yes, I know it’s a fictional character, and an actor dealing with a fake wall, but it made me very mad. He didn’t even spray it with vinegar first! Or any other cleaning product! 😭 I pity Elle’s wall. And her for having to clean it all over again when he’s ‘done’.

Other notes: I adore the JJ/Garcia friendship. Actually, everything about Garcia as a character. She’s wonderful and JJ is showing potential to be very funny. I hope that continues too. I want to give Reid a warm blanket, a good meal and tell him that he is enough. Maybe also keep him away from caffeine for 72 hours and see if he winds down slightly.

The peeps in general have stolen my heart and I want them all to be safe and well and live happy and fulfilling lives with minimal external disturbances. We all know that ain’t happening but I take solace in the fact that somewhere in my heart, on a streaming service, on DVDs, and maybe a crazy multiverse, it will always be Season 1.

Yes, I’m 17 years late to the party. But, now I’m here, I am having a great time. I look forward to seeing how wrong I am about stuff over the next few seasons!

I can't tell you just how heartbroken Wonders of Ohio left me. I've only ever felt that way with one other fic, and even then WoO topped it. Unlike WoO, the other fic had a very clean cut ending to it (they both died at the end rip) so I wasn't left to my own thoughts about what could've happened after. Which might be why WoO has been absolutely haunting me for the past two days, it hasn't left my mind at all. I think about certain moments, the ending, oh god ESPECIALLY THE ENDING, AT LEAST once an hour. I get that familiar feeling of my throat drying up and my eyes begin to water when I think about it. Another reason being the way you write. I was able to immerse myself into the story and imagine what I was reading in my head, one specific case of this I remember was when Draco made Reader and himself late to school. When he was fidgeting in the passengers seat, his hair unkempt, I could almost see him. I imagined draco with his messy platinum hair, wearing a muggle polo shirt because its just so posh rich kid of him, nervous as he leaned over the middle compartment into the backseat as he performed that glamour spell. I've never been very creative and imaginative but with your writing it was easy for me. It reminded me of how I was able to do the same when reading the Harry Potter books, being able to almost live in that universe in my head was so refreshing. Anyways this is really long, SORRY, but when I saw that you also had a Tumblr (as I originally read your stories on AO3) I just had to look. I scrolled through your page for a while and I gasped when I eventually saw that you posted what you started on writing for a continued ending? (I don't know how to phrase it I'm sorry 😭) I read it and while WoO is still breaking my heart over and over again, I think I'll be able to think about it for longer than 5 minutes at a time without bursting into tears now. So thank you. 🩷

anyway some points i’d like to hit (apologies for the length but i just wanted to give this the response it deserved):

1) first of all THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHABKYOU this was genuinely the highlight of my whole year. people like you are the reason i write and i’m being so genuine when i say that this message is like the kind of stuff i dream about getting as a writer. so in conc i’m kissing you on the mouth you didn’t need to but you wrote all of this out and for that i’m forever grateful

2) some thoughts on the ending: first of all IM SORRY lmaoo. i’ll let u in on a little secret: i actually originally planned on a completely different ending where y/n ended up using the box right off the bat and went back to england and spent the last half of the fic learning magic and interacting with the golden trio crew/the malfoys. i told this to a few writer friends and they made me realize that it wouldn’t be as useful in actually answering the silly question that i based the whole fic on (what would draco do if he was plopped in the middle of muggle america?). i decided then that i really was more interested in learning how draco’s character would develop as he came to love someone who was fundamentally differently from him (and didn’t first go through a change that departed from her basic character traits). from then on i realized that a happy ending wouldn’t involve either of them giving up their world at the end of the summer, since they needed to grow up a little bit (and at that point i was old enough to find the idea of giving up your entire life for a relationship at 18 completely terrifying). hence the sad ending…but i think in the long run it means that they end up having a much healthier dynamic later on!

3) if you want to know about what happened after the deleted scene you found: i left the ending so open because i always thought i’d come back to write another series where i explored what happened after, but i don’t think i’ll end up doing that so i’ll tell you what i was planning. i always imagined y/n eventually going to england after graduating and getting established in her career and learning magic (because like literally who wouldn’t if presented with that option). draco is just kind of like a stay at home husband who’s just psyched to be there.

4) thank you so so much for your note about how immersive WoO was!! i’m ngl i’ve always struggled with incorporating imagery into my work. i spent my formative years avoiding anything i considered to be purple prose and that really reflected in my writing. i’m not a super visual person so if i could mention the 3 details i think are important in each scene and could just get on with the meat of the plot, i would, so i’m so thrilled to hear that it was able to give you that experience as a reader despite the fact that i’ve always been worried that i can’t 🥹 thank you again for telling me all of this bc it genuinely warmed my heart i know that this is a little disjointed but oml this like made my day

If you’ve never played gen 5, Ingo’s appearance in Legends won’t matter much to you at all.

So sad to think about 😭

As someone who played gen 5, the fact that ingo was in PLA and had come there from the future was one of the MAIN reasons I got the game in the first place. Cause I wanted to know what was up.

I don’t play Pokémon cause it’s an RPG, or because of the different pokemon, or the stories— I play pokemon for the characters.

And when a new game adds lore to another character, I am all for it.

Especially if it’s as sad and tragic as Ingo’s situation when you really think about it.

That being said, I really hope that

A) the pokemon black and white remakes are more like Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, where they’re put in a different timeline from the originals and we get some kinda insight into emmets situation, or what led up to ingo disappearing through a time-space rift.

Or

B) they don’t happen at all and it’s left up to interpretation. Because if we get anything like Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl for gen 5 remakes, all hope is lost for pokemon to me.

Others can continue to enjoy it of course!

But when you have put extra effort to separate the remakes from the originals in a bunch more way than just visuals, why would you not do that again? It’s the expectation now, so why are you giving fans anything less than expected.

Pokemon Pearl was the first pokemon game I ever played. It was the first game i actually got myself. I loved the heck out of that game, and have played it over and over, despite is short comings. It reminds me of good times during my childhood.

And when we got remakes for gold and silver, that interstates stuff from Crystal while also making a bunch of quality of life updates— and omega ruby and sapphire that did an overhaul of the story to also include things from emerald as well as a bunch of NEW lore, they made me so excited for diamond and Pearl remakes! I wanted to know how they would make the world look brand new, and update the story so it felt better.

But when it finally got announced, I remember standing at the front door getting ready to head to the bus stop with my brother, and seeing it get teased. Then we were shown the players room as the first look of the game and..my face dropped. I can not express the amount of disappointment I felt almost automatically.

So with black and white being the first pokemon games that my brother played with me, and the first ones we actually got to see the announcements and got to feel the hype around its release, it’s probably even more nostalgic for me than gen 4. So this time, I’m hoping they get it right.

And with ingo showing up in pokemon legends arceus, I’m holding out, hoping the black and white remakes might actually be good.

FE: Engage - Prologue + Chapter 1

It begins.

Went with M!Alear, since I really dislike F!Alear's look + I kinda fine M!Alear...really cute?? Ever since the first trailer, I just liked his expressions. I would even say his silly hair adds to the appeal.

The first cutscene looks great. Im happy how pretty the game's graphics are. Seems like a premonition of some kind? reminds me of awakening.

Woah, hello. I'm like, 99% sure this guy's Alear's father. I'm just also gonna note here that I'm pretty leak free story wise, so any theories or speculation I have are genuine. Though I have kept up on pre-release information (like trailers, jpn twitter posts, etc).

"My prayers are with you!" IDK why, I just like that line

I wonder... This can't be a flashback, since we saw 'present day' characters in the fight cutscene. Unless we're getting a wacky reincarnation plotline (Someone call Kiria!). Probably a premonition then? Premonition stuff can be a little strange. made sense in awakening, because it was a look into the original timeline, and I know Alear won't remember anything, so...what? Maybe just something for the player to chew on.

Wait, this is so funny

First actual battle. Not much to say, since it's mostly a tutorial battle still (so it's pretty standard stuff). It feels good to play, and the graphics are great. ...wow Vander's personal skill kinda sucks. Yay, Alear remembers Marth! Another simple battle that gives us another taste of the engage mechanic. I'll probably have more thoughts when we have more then just Marth.

LUMERA! I just really like her design.

aww, that CG. Waiting for 1,000 years for your child to wake is pretty sad. Though this interaction makes me think on how we didn't get any info regarding an Alear dragon form. can Alear just...not transform? I'm sure we'll find out more about it later.

Hmm, 'Terrible wound'... I wouldn't be shocked is Lumera's lying (or not telling the whole truth), since we know that Alear goes full red at some point, and putting them to sleep was the best way to fix that.

There's some bird on the map, but I can't seem to adopt it smh. That will prob unlock with Somniel tbh
