Doch das Zweigeschlechtersystem ist nicht nur unvollständig, es schließt auch aus. Für viele Menschen passt es nicht. Es fühlt sich falsch an. Das Wissen darum und die mediale Aufmerksamkeit nehmen zu. Doch mit steigender Sichtbarkeit werden auch trans- und queerfeindliche Stimmen lauter und versuchen mit aller Kraft, die binäre Geschlechterordnung zu verteidigen. Dabei steckt in der Überwindung des starren binären Systems emanzipatorisches Potenzial für alle Menschen.

Was wären wir ohne Zweigeschlechterordnung? Können wir sie überwinden? Was hätten wir davon? Lydia Meyer entwirft eine Welt, in der die alten Grenzen obsolet geworden sind, und schöpft dabei aus eigenen Erfahrungen als Person, für die die binäre Ordnung nicht funktioniert. Mod opinion: I've read and mostly enjoyed this book, it's interesting if you don't have a lot of contact with nonbinary identity before or want to have a quick look into current german political discourse this is good, but it is not really the futuristic look at gender that I expected from the title.

always quick to try to make others laugh or smile. she oftens leaves gifts for others to find in hopes to provide a little bit of cheer even in the dark.

🥰 Hashtag Soulmates (everwitch) - 44K, RWRB AU - deliberately tropetastic sort-of meta fic where Henry's a fanfic writer & Alex is one of his biggest fans and they work together but don't know it. Hard to explain but fun to read. Good stuff on the nature of fanfic; also hilarious bits where it walks right up to the crackfic line but doesn't go over. I really enjoyed reading something the author so clearly had a blast writing.

i mean like

do you imagine tom peter when you’re writing? andrew? toby? do you imagine james franco for harry? or does it change depending on what you’re writing? etc so on and so forth

!!!! okay so, short answer: it kind of depends? like i have the same BASIC idea of the type of appearance each character has, but it kinda varies (i.e. sometimes i write harry with green eyes, sometimes with blue eyes, that kinda thing, you know?) but for the most part, the most accurate like actor representations that kinda capture what i picture is:

tom for peter, unless it’s not mcu-based, in which case it changes (i have two parksborn one shots, both of which it’s andrew)

ty for harley but also like. to the left. like i picture basically ty but brighter blond hair that’s kinda wavy/curly? but basically just ty

mj i just think zendaya bc i pretty much only write michelle jones, not mary jane, but if i ever DO write mary jane then i’d probably base her appearance off of like. like season 3 teen wolf era holland roden aka lydia marten. actually no now that i’ve said that it feels wrong lmao. maybe sadie sink ? but that’s only mary jane, for mj aka michelle jones it’s definitely zendaya

ned is for sure jacob in my head. like he’s ned. i cannot picture another person as ned. jacob is ned.

flash it’s pretty much just mcu flash so tony revelori. except i have a couple drafts for some tasm spiderflash fics in which case i picture tasm flash.

for harry, i mostly just picture like. love simon era nick robinson. he has hazel eyes so his appearance feels fitting for when i write him with blue eyes OR green eyes. but again, if it’s task based then i picture tasm harry aka dane dahaan. i haven’t written for the raimi verse but if i did i would probably go with james franco even though fuck that guy. but since most of my fics are mcu based, for all of those (including tbaf and hb) i picture nick robinson.

gwen is hunter schaffer like i just. that’s gwen! that’s gwen. if mcu at any point brings gwen into the picture i desperately need hunter to play her. though emma meyers is a close second, aka enid from wednesday, i think she could capture gwen’s energy really well, but appearance wise i just want hunter to play her so bad please for the love of god she would NAIL gwen’s character in every single way

i haven’t included betty in many fics but again just mcu betty aka angourie rice (WHO IS STARRING IN THE NEW MEAN GIRLS THE MUSICAL MOVIE AND I AM SO VERY EXCITED ABOUT IT!!!!)

One of my plans of this year is to read more, so I decided to start this little series where I post a picture of the new book(s) I read each month.

People probably won’t be interested in seeing this all too much, but I still hope it will motivate me to show you my progress, even if it probably won’t be much.

Despite what one might believe, working at the library wasn’t exactly beneficial for my motivation to read in the last three years.

But since I’m through with the apprenticeship and have at least a tiny bit more free time, I hope to make a change this year and pick up one of my oldest and dearest hobbies again.

This month was month of finishing books I started in November/December 2023 that I didn’t have the time to finish. They were all really nice reads.

P.S: I won’t write book reviews or anything, but if there’s ever a title/cover catching your interest I can tell you more about the book!

P.P.S: Expect a lot of German books and books lend from the library in this series, haha.

Boe Meets Stefan

Absolution Verse 1

Boe, fresh out of his terror in the Tower, meets Stefan in the kitchens while he's trying to patch up his injuries. Stefan offers to help.

Content Warnings: broken ribs, bruises, referenced physical violence, referenced use of taser

“Are you okay?”

“Do I look it?”

The other man doesn’t reply. Boe must look pathetic, his right arm clutched around his stomach and hunched over the wooden table. He holds a bandage in his free hand and antiseptic wipes and tape are spread across the surface in front of him. There’s a gash just above his eyebrow – he’s tried to clean it, but with no mirror and his ribs grating against one another it has become remarkably hard to do so.

“Do you need help?” A hand jolts in front of Boe. Its rough and scarred. The voice accompanying suits the hand just right – a slight lilt that reminds Boe of his aunt he hasn’t seen since he was a child. Boe looks up through his lashes. The hand is attached to a remarkably handsome man, tall, tanned, and wearing brown dungarees.

“I’ve seen you before,” Boe says. “You were with the horses.”

The man smiles and it hits Boe right in his bruised, maybe even broken, ribs.

“You didn’t answer my question. Do you want me to help you?”

Boe hesitates. There is no reason to not trust this very handsome stranger, but, there’s no reason to trust him either. The last time Boe trusted someone with everything he had meant the loss of everything he had ever known. It also meant daily beatings and a constant guilt in the pit of his stomach that he just couldn’t seem to be rid of. The man seems to notice Boe’s hesitation.

“I’m Stefan. You’re Boe, right?”

Boe nods.

“Now we know each other will you let me help?”

Boe swallows once, bile rising in him at the thought of someone else touching him. But it couldn’t be all bad. If this Stefan tried anything, Boe could easily throw him off. There’s no taser he can see and Stefan looks the part of stablehand because that’s what he must be if he works with the horses. Handing Stefan the bandage, Boe carefully lowers himself into a chair wincing as he goes because there isn’t one bit of him that Meyer hadn’t touched.

“How’d you know who I am?” Boe watches as Stefan places the bandage on the table and ripping open an antiseptic wipe. Stefan doesn’t dignify him with an answer and that sets Boe’s heart racing. “How long have I been up there?”

There being the Tower. That’s where he had been sent, who knows how long ago, after everything had gone wrong. Boe had kicked, screamed, did anything he could to get Lydia out of that trance. But all Lydia had done was stare at him with eyes that were no longer her own. His best friend, taken from him, and her girlfriend, stunned with fear, knife to her throat, did nothing. She just sat there and watched as Meyer beat him bloody. Boe couldn’t blame Ally but that didn’t mean that her freezing didn’t hurt. It hurt nearly as much as Meyer’s boots connecting repeatedly with his chest and all the times afterwards up there.

Stefan pulls a stool over, places it just in front of Boe, and sits down. If Boe moves his knee just so then it would connect with Stefan’s own. Stefan delicately swipes away the drying blood from Boe’s forehead. Boe winces only slightly.

“Stefan,” Boe implores.

“Two months, give or take,” Stefan pulls a plaster from the front pocket of his dungarees and applies it. “It was Meyer, wasn’t it? He’s in charge of you.”

“Don’t you dare pity me. I got myself into this mess and Meyer’s been on my case for years. I should expected this, there was always the eventuality that it would go wrong.”

Stefan sighs. “I don’t pity you. If I pitied every unfortunate curly haired boy that found his way into trouble then I wouldn’t have enough to spare for myself.”

Boe hazards a smile. “You have many curly haired boys in your kitchen then?”

“Not my kitchen. Now, shirt off.”

It is no surprise that Boe turns red. “You say that to every boy you meet?”

Stefan gives him a look. Boe begins the process of unbuttoning his Standard Issue Grey Shirt, so different from the clothes he’s used to wearing. He supposes he should get used to this now. The scratchy material adding extra pain to his already bruised body. He likes soft things, clothing twice tumble-dried because yes, although he may be a rebel, he likes his comforts. He misses his rings, his necklaces, his bracelets, all things that he had cultivated over years of trawling through charity shops. They might be able to take his jewellry and his leather coat, but at least they can’t take his tattoos. Sprawling things that take up the length of his chest, creeping up towards his ear, mostly tech related or just swirling patterns, but above his heart is a bouquet – sprigs of lavendar, his mother’s favourite flower. They can’t take this from him. And as he opens up his shirt to Stefan he notes the way that Stefan’s eyes linger over his body and Boe isn’t sure which patterns Stefan is staring at.

“How bad?” Boe’s shirt is fully open now and he glances down. Very bad. It’s a cacophany of colours – yellows, blues, blacks, purples. Even if he had the patience he wouldn’t be able to recreate the vividness of his skin with the paints and brushes he has stashed away at home. Had stashed away at home. A home that likely no longer exists.

Boe attempts to take his arms out of the shirt but a piercing feeling stabs through him.

“Let me,” Stefan reaches forward and carefully bends Boe’s arm out. Boe’s breath hitches. “This will likely hurt.”

Boe huffs. “I’m used to it.”

Stefan grimaces at that but dutifully presses against the worst of Boe’s bruising, testing for movement or whatever. Boe had never understood biology – he was much more apt at the physics and chemistry side of science. He had always liked electricity, had enjoyed watching it in experiements. Like tree roots – life itself.

“How often did Meyer use the taser?” Stefan’s fingers are carressing the burns across his skin.

Boe just gives him a look. Stefan grabs the bandages from the table and begins to wrap them around Boe’s torso. Just the right level of tightness. Stefan finishes the ensemble off with tape to secure everything together.

“Don’t try to piss him off. Your body needs to heal,” Stefan stands and gestures for Boe to do the same. He wraps the shirt around Boe’s shoulders; Boe shivers at the first kind touch he has had in two months.

“He doesn’t need a reason. He’s never needed one.”

“I know,” Stefan sighs. “Come on. I’ll take you to Ally. She’s been worried about you.”

What else can Boe do apart from follow.

The inheritance of woman in the nature of Christ.—There are certain qualities in the Son of Man peculiarly adapted for the heart of woman. Tenderness for her many tears—"Woman, why weepest thou?" Sympathy in her quest for a love that will not fail—"Mary." An answer to her many questions—"Woman, believe Me." Strength for her clinging weakness—"Forbid her not." Hope for her despair—"If thou couldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God." O woman, remember Him who is the counterpart of thy need, and offers thee Himself. "The same is my sister."

The inheritance of woman in the work of Christ.—She is called to enrich men by bringing to them her inheritance. So the daughters of Zelophehad brought their land to their husbands, and the women bore the tidings of the risen Lord to the disciples. Thus women, receiving much from fellowship with Christ, come to men, steeped in materialism and sense, telling of a purer, fairer life, and summoning them to inherit it. Well is it for the home where this principle is recognized, and where the wife and mother is ever feeding her soul with noble ideals, to correct the false estimates that too much contact with men of the world are apt to induce in those she loves!

New oc, new suffering for them

No warnings really other than angst probably so hope ya angsty lovers are hungry for some I guess, enjoy

Michael was working once more in the journal room making the schools newest issue of news while drinking another cup of coffee all alone until the goop from his right eye began to leak even faster than usual" no no, not now out of all times" Michael spoke in a panic quickly trying to calm himself down but nothing was working the goop kept leaking more on his body covering him in it, it felt heavy and painful on him god he wished to remove the pain but there was no use he was done for most likely until he heard someone open the door of the journal room it was none other than his brother jason who walked close to him and spoke" breathe in and out calmly" he spoke as Michael did so afraid, but thanks to the advice the pain finally stopped and Michael was back to stable after around 50 minutes that's longer than last time this occured which was on a Tuesday which took 25 minutes it seemed to be getting worse each and everyday, Jason left the room without saying anything" thank you.....brother" spoke Michael into the empty room now what, his condition gets worse much more faster and occurs more often how else can he manage it without having to breathe in and out cause that is also becoming an issue when in that pain he can barely breathe it be best if he just got through the day at the very least so he kept working until again he felt the pain kick back not again," twice?h-how" spoke Michael now confused, he tried the technique from last time but this time it didn't work, no matter the times he did it at any speed none of it stopped it as last time instead this pain consumed him completely at last" MICHAEL!!!" yelled a feminine voice to him,he could barely hear it but he knew it was someone" Michael!!" She spoke" michale!! Can you hear me?" She began asking, Michael gained his consciousness back and looked at the person it was none other than his girlfriend lydia"Lydia, what are you doing here?" He asked grabbing her stone face" I didn't see you exit school grounds after class ended, I got so worried I dialed you too but no reply"Lydia said helping Michael stand up" great, just what I needed to be fucking covered in this goop" spoke Michael sarcastically then began coughing badly causing him to fall to the ground again" hey hey, take it one at a time Michael Meyers" spoke lydia calmly" fuck that quinz boy for ruining my shit" cursed Michael" if only I had some way to make him understand how I felt growing up like this, almost to my death bed at this rate" spoke Michael before coughing again blood to the floor violently" there is a way" spoke taylor appearing in front of the couple" I know a friend who can make that come true but at a certain price if you ask what she needs in return" continued Taylor" what would she need?" Asked Michael before lydia could discuss with her love about the situation" your loyalty as her servants and she will grant whatever you desire but fail her and well her brothers will be in charge of your fate" replied taylor taking their leave phasing through the wall then phasing back was alxen" so do we have an agreement?" " we do" said Michael offering his hand to alxen but instead alxen bit him by the neck leaving two dots around the left side of his neck looking like a birthmark of alxen's on her neck and then proceeded to bite Lydia in the same place" your both now serve me are we clear?" Spoke alxen wiping the blood off her sharp teeth and then handing Michael a sack full of injections" use these to make those doubt your suffering feel true pain in and hour or so, they will serve you as servants" spoke alxen and then leaving" you will pay you son of a quinz ethan" said Michael smiling evily before coughing again blood" take it easy love" spoke lydia trying to stop the coughing

" I'm not sure but something tells me that your not doing okay" spoke ethan to Michael who was silently still writing" what do you mean? I'm perfectly fine this is my daily life, unlike yours which is perfect where you can cry to mommy and daddy and have good siblings" spoke michale then the second part very quietly mocking ethan" you sure you dont want to calm down for a day? It could probably help you out" spoke ethan" yes I'm sure now leave" spoke Michael as his two other journal assistants lowndes and Raul pushed ethan outside of the journal office.

So I'm thinking of making more, if not all, Veep characters in the sims since I already put Kent and Nonia in the same world as Sidney and Lydia. It'll be fun!! But it will need to follow my au that basically redacts s6 and s7 of the show and makes it happier.

Selina wins the house vote in her run for president- yayyy!! Tom James is her veep, as she initially planned. All the staff stay on- Amy, Dan, Ben, Kent, Richard, Nonia (in my verse ofc), Sue, Mike, and obviously Gary. Of course some show typical shenanigans go on, including Selina crashing a wedding (based on an ask about Nonia lol), her on and off friends w benefits thing with Tom, and Amy/Dan becomes more serious, especially after the abortion (which remains in the story). Although she knows Dan won't ever truly mature, Amy tries her hardest to make it work with him. He also tries. Yet to see if it goes well.

Re-election season comes around and there's the same kind of campaign things that go on in the first parts of s7, including the trips to Iowa- Richard still becomes mayor of Lurlene and Dan his chief of staff and the whole Sidney incident occurs, because it has to for Lydia and Sidney to meet. However, just like in the show, Richard is promoted. Dan continues to work for him.

There is no fallout with Selina and Amy or any other staffers, so there's no nonsense with Jonah's campaign interfering. Selina still has Tom so she never resorts to Jonah, nor does Amy. He loses, as he should. The Meyer administration continues on as usual. Selina never has to bargain with Buddy Calhoun and ban gay marriage so its all good on that front, as are Catherine and Marjorie. Andrew dies still fuck that idiot.

My main focuses are of course on Kent/Nonia and Sidney/Lydia. Kent and Nonia continue their work in the White House as well as their relationship. Sidney and Lydia end up forming a fashion designer company with Lydia as the head designer and a model, they call it simply call it "falco." in that exact stylization.

That's about all I have to say on it now, but there will be updates and such esp on the oc/canon front. I just wanted to establish my ideal version of the series that I want my stories to take place in.
