There is a running joke in my circle that, in worlds where there are Secret Magic Books and the possibility of other dimensions, it is always possible to run into people/creatures who aren’t actually from your universe.

Chara enters the door to Gaster's lab, struggling with bags of groceries. The force of opening the door makes the food fall out.

Chara: Doc, I found more of them.

(to the groceries:) Shit

Chara: We need to get some automatic doors. Like Alphys.

Lovestar has picked up a tomato and hands it to Chara, hovering.

Chara: Thank you.

Gaster heard Chara come in and peeks into the room.

Gaster (in wingdings): More of what?

Cinnamon (in morse code): oh

Cinnamon (in wingdings): Hello

Cinnamon (in sign language): Hello

Chara attempts to answer Gaster's question, but enters a monologue by themself.

Chara: More monsters from other dimensions! God, one was enough.

Cinnamon and Gaster chat to each other while Lovestar watches them in confusion.

Cinnamon (in wingdings): You're like Gaster, but different.*

Gaster (in wingdings): Wow, it's been a while since someone had my language.

Lovestar: ????

*LARGE MISTAKE HERE

[mistake] because I saw Cinnamon's reference picture and thought he was from an Undertale universe. I assumed wherever he was from, he had a version of Gaster at home. The point I was making here is that Cinnamon speaks in wingdings sometimes so I just wanted to draw him and Gaster speaking together. [end of mistake]

Chara, understanding the wingdings but not wanting time to be lost, loses their temper and shouts, accidentally causing a jumpscare in the process and scaring everyone.

Chara: STOP CHIT-CHATTING! EVERY SEOND THEY ARE HERE, THEIR WORLDS COULD BE CRUMBLING!!

Chara knows their power and works hard not to hurt monsters or cause jump scares, but having learned that there is a version of Sans who literally wants to destroy universes, Chara is a little bit too scared for anyone who ends up in the wrong dimension.

Chara goes to apologise to the guests, both of whom have only 1 HP left.

They approach Cinnamon, who has hidden under a desk.

Chara: I'm sorry, come out.

They look up at Lovestar, who has flown up to the cieling and is hovering out of harms way.

Chara: I'm sorry. Come down.

abelia -> I have a ring that I wear very often. It's golden and depicts two hands sort of embracing your finger when you wear it :D

I also have a necklace that used to be my mother's (still kind of is, but I'm the only one who wears it). Not sure about the proper English word (I think it might be binky?) but it's called Schnuller in German heheheh

chia -> I don't know if "not so shrimple is it" counts as an inside joke but I also have a couple with my family, one of which is just kind of used to tease me lmao

One time, when we were at a birthday party, there were waiters walking around with little foods to snack on while we waited for the main lunch/dinner, and I had eaten so much of these little snackies that, even though I wanted to, I could not eat any more. So when one of the waiters approached me and my sister with a food platter in his hand I said (paraphrased cuz it was in German xD) "get it away from me, or I will throw up" (bloß weg damit sonst kotz' ich).

My mother likes to say that phrase whenever she doesn't want to eat something or wants something to be removed from her vicinity.

chamomile -> I honestly adore any kind of gift anyone gives me if it's something that made them think of me. Like, if it's something that relates to an inside joke I have with someone, or if the person looked at it and went 'yes, this reminds me of them', stuff like that. Of course I also absolutely adore it when people actually make things for me (like art or writing etc.)

Tldr; if it comes from the heart I will love and treasure it with all my heart <3

Reading sci-fi books is often like: ok I get it, interesting questions about the world using anticipation... and then the last ten pages are making me question my reading comprehension or wondering if the writer was taking drugs when writing (if it's Philip K Dick the answer is yes).

#misc #just finished lovestar #it's an islandic scifi book #about a future in which humanity has mastered the way of communicating like birds #and basically everyone is ultra connected without any phone or anything #and most importantly it's about consumption society #basically they are bombarded with ads #and they can be ads themselves (to pay debts)#and i really loved this criticism of capitalism obviously #but by the end it's leaning into the absurd (which it has been since the beginning)#that I'm like wtf am i ready #that being said #if you read a scifi book and don't end up having to analyse the end #and question your entire existence #it's not a real sci-fi book #(excluding space opera from this take because it's not the prime purpose of space operas stories)#anyway i feel like i read a Dick book lmao #imma think about it while washing the dishes

Sorry for the bout of inactivity. It's hard getting back into a habit that I was already kinda flakey on to begin with. Anyway, please enjoy a crapton of Acorn, the squirrel-modded girl from Venus who fucked around with an uber-powerful celestial artifact, and found out. Luckily for her, it just gave her superpowers. Also a bunch of other characters I felt like drawing her with, too.

Acorn putting on the LoveStar suit is just a "what if", and not canon, for as much as it matters to anyone. Combining the biomagitech of a StarSuit (especially one as powerful as the LoveSuit) with the magic nonsense embedded in her eyeball would have... destructive results. Oh sure, she'd be, somehow, even MORE powerful, but it'd accelerate her body being converted into pure celestial magic or whatever.

Asmo is braiding your hair and it's soft and gentle, you're almost falling asleep, so you barely register him murmuring about how beautiful you are, how stunning you look in red, how badly he'd like to paint you in it, how sure he is that your insides are as pretty as your outsides, how much he'd like to taste...

You're in the observatory with Belphie, talking in hushed giggles under the stars and the blood red moon. His hands are warm in yours and his eyes are kind, you trust him and want nothing more than to fall asleep here in a nest of pillows, but his shadow looks like its warning you to stay awake
