Princess Luzura Of The Boiling Isles
Chapter 4! The part we've all been waiting for! I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 4: The Intruder
"And here we have the most fearsome creature in the world: The King of Demons, facing his natural enemy, the ducky sock."
Luzura recorded King with a strange rectangle she found in one of Eda's piles of human artifacts, giggling to herself as King tore the ducky sock to shreds. She'd snuck off to the Owl House again for another magic lesson, but found herself occupied by her silly demon friend.
"Where are you now, ducky sock!?" He yelled, stomping on his fallen enemy's remains.
"So, why'd you call me over again?"
"Oh, yeah!", King climbed onto a large chest next to a board with a sheet on it, "Princess Luzura! You've been so obsessed with witchcraft, that you have yet to learn anything about my kind! Prepare yourself for...."
He tore the sheet off, revealing charts, diagrams, sketches, and photos of various demons and monsters. It was quite impressive, actually!
"Demonds 101!"
King donned a professor's barret, tapping his claws.
"Demons like me are grim tricksters of the twilight, creatures of sulfur and bone-"
"And cute little paws!" The princess cooed.
"And cute little paws. True.", King sighed, "We live only to create chaos and misery. Our only weaknesses are purified water and passive-agressive comments. Sometimes."
"Aaw, you guys are sensitive!"
"Even demons have inner demons." King ripped a paper off to reveal a horrific image of a shelled, spiky creature, "The most powerful demon of all is the Snaggleback, he is a-"
"Bad boy!" Luzura laughed, playing with the rectangle's special effects.
"Luzura, pay attention! This information could save your life one day!"
"Oh no, I am so paying attention!" She defended, pulling a serious face.
A loud crack of thunder suddenly shook the house.
"Uh oh, Looks like it's gonna rain."
"Oh. Maybe I should head back to the castle, then. It would be bad if someone found out I was gone when the weather gets bad." Luzura picked up her bag and walked out the door.
She inhaled the salty smell of the air, ever-so-slightly saltier with the upcoming rain. Luzura looked down at a pink flower, being taken aback when it wilted suddenly.
Raindrops quickly started pouting down just ahead of the Owl House, Eda running out of the woods.
"Boiling Rain! Everybody inside now!" Eda screamed, dragging Luzura by the arm back into the house. They jumped in just as the rain reached their front porch.
"Whew! That was close! But the important thing is that you didn't get hurt!"
Luzura groaned on the floor, a mug landing on her head from the crash.
"Yep. Not hurt."
Eda snorted, standing up and stepping outside. She activated a small field around herself so she didn't get burned.
Luzura stepped out too, looking at a stinging burn on her arm until King slapped a bandage on it, and then his own nose.
"There! Now where Boo-Boo Buddies!" He joked. Luzura squealed.
"Ohmytitan, I love you so much..."
Boiling Rain is a perfect fit for the Boiling Isles. Scalding hot raindrops flew down from the sky, sending bystanders into a panic. They rushed indoors anywhere they could, they took their plants of off their windowsills, and they even sought refuge from cracks in the walls.
"Yep. The weather here kinda sucks, plagues, gorenados, shale hail, painbows..." Eda ranted.
"Painbows?"
"It's like a rainbow, but looking at it turns you inside out!" King exclaimed.
"So until the rain stops, no one is allowed outside tonight." Eda ordered.
"But what if someone at the castle finds out I'm gone? I can't get back!" Luzura asked.
"Oh, please. Anyone knows that rain is the perfect opportunity to stay in and lounge around, even those emperor chumps."
"And if it doesn't get you, the Snaggleback will! They wander the rains feeding on boiled tourists!" King said, opening up a book about the monster.
"Well, whatever the case, this force field will protect the house from boiling rains, and made-up demons." Eda smirked.
"Hoot! Well, hurry it up with that force field. That rain is getting closer to my precious stucco!" Hooty yelled.
"Yeah, yeah, I got it..." Eda said. She pierced a magical orb she was conjuring with her staff, spinning it in the air. The force field spread out into a bubble around the house, conforming to its shape.
"Wow, some day I'd like to be as cool as Eda the Owl Lady. Magical, sassy, surprisingly foxy for her age- Why do they call you the Owl Lady anyway?"
"Cause I'm so wise." Eda answered.
"Cause she coughs up rat bones." Hooty injected.
"I think it's cause she gets distracted by shiny objects." King added.
"No I don't-!"
King pulled a light-up diamond pen from under his hat, clicking a button to make it shine. Eda's pupils dilated.
"It sparkles and shimmers and shines and delights- I must have it for my nest...." Eda leapt for the pen, flipping onto her back.
"You have a nest? I want a nest! Nest party!" Luzura laughed.
"Ugh, That force field really took it outta me..."
"Uh-oh. Moving a little slow. Age finally catching up to you?" King joked. Eda grumbled and pulled his hat above his eyes.
"Ah! Darkness!"
"This is perfect! Since we'll be stuck here for a while, Eda won't have any excuse not to teach me a spell!" Luzura leapt enthusiastically.
"Wait, what about our lesson? I was gonna let you scratch a demon's tummy. Me!" King whined.
"Oh, uh, Sorry, King. But magic..." She attempted an excuse before running off.
Eda snapped her fingers to change into her louging clothes. She plopped herself on the couch, sighin, but jumping when a shadow came over her.
"Eda, did I tell you how rad your fang looks today?"
"Whatever it is, no."
"And your hair is like...guuuurl...."
"I'm not teaching you magic tonight. I'm sleepy. I'm a sleepy little owl." Eda snatched a blanket and rolled herself up in it.
"Please, Eda, please. How can I earny witch's staff if I don't know any spells?" Luzura begged.
"No. Sleep." Eda pulled the blanket over her head. She was content to pass out right then and there, until the clicking of a pen caught her attention.
"Sparkle thing!"
She leapt out of her covers, and onto the arm of the couch, seeing Luzura holding the diamond pen.
"Oh, this?" The princess taunted, "Teach me one spell, and you may have your sparkle thing."
"I respect your cunning, but I also hate you for it." Eda said from the floor.
She got up, summoning her staff. Luzura plopped down onto the floor.
"If you want a witch's staff like mine, don't make me repeat.....myself....." Eda nearly passed out before she finished her sentence.
"Witch's staffs have magic embedded into them. But before one is earned, they must learn to cast spells on their own." Eda said.
She tossed her staff away, pointing her finger in the air.
"Now. Tonight I will show you how to create light." She drew a golden magic circle in the air, which formed an orb of light from its center. It glided down to the young royal, popping like a bubble. Luzura's eyes sparkled at the spectacle.
"Booooring. Whats the fun in that when you can learn all the fun ways demons can kill you!", King held up a childish drawing, "Look how teethy. Bite! Bite!"
"Be quiet. I need to focus." Luzura mostly ignored him.
"Now, some people think that magic comes from thin air, which is stupid. Everything comes from something. Let me ask you, kid: Where do you think magic comes from?" Eda continued her lesson.
"From the heart?" Luzura took a shot in the dark with that one.
"Actually......You're right!"
Luzura squealed in delight.
"No actually you are! Magic is stored in a bile sac attached to a witch's heart." Eda pulled a diagram out of her hair.
"Oh, gross."
"Now, everything depends on the spell circle. The bigger the circle, the more powerful the spell." She drew a bigger circle, creating a bigger ball of light.
"But, I'm a witch, and I can't cast magic. Is there something wrong with my bile sac?" Luzura asked, pointing at her chest.
"Hmmm. I actually don't know! I know they did magic differently back then, but I never bothered to figure out how." Eda snorted.
"Awww, what?!" The teenager whined.
"Aw, don't worry kid. You'll figure it out." Eda ruffled Luzura's hair, before cracking her back, "Now, I gotta lie down."
Luzura gripped her arm, "Wait! Show me the spell one more time! I'll record it this time." She pulled out the small rectangle.
She pulled up the camera, and began recording Eda as she rubbed her eyes.
"Smile! You're on camera! One more spell won't kill you."
"Oh, fine! Now the spell circle is....really key....because..." Eda yawned while drawing a wobbly spell circle, falling face first into the carpet.
"Oh, looks like one more spelling killed Eda." King joked.
Luzura gasped in horror, "Oh no! My obsession with spells knocked out Eda! I'm a monster!"
King crawled over to the old woman, lightly slapping her face.
"Yep, she's out.", He did it again, laughing, "Juhust making sure."
"We need to get help, right?" Luzura leapt up and began to rush out the front door, before her leg was grabbed by the small demon.
"Boiling rains, remember?!"
"No, let her try. It'll be funny" Hooty said, King slamming the door shut.
"But what if Eda's dead!?" The pair looked over to the passed out owl lady, hearing her snores and mumbles.
"Remember when her head got cut off last week? That woman can survive anything! She's probably just tired from staying up all night chasing shrews and voles." King explained.
"Well, we can't just leave her on the floor..."
The two kids dragged Eda up the stairs, to her bedroom, and into her nest.
"Sorry for pushing you, Ms. Eda....Please don't hurt me when you wake up..." Luzura pleaded as if Eda could hear her.
"Should I bap her again?" King asked.
"Just leave her be, you little goober!"
The princess walked out, and King slapped her anyway before following her.
The two of them went back to doing miscellaneous activities to pass the time, King drawing a demon from his book and Luzura attempting to draw magic circles.
"Ugh, Eda did this like nothing! Why you gotta be so cryptic, Owl Lady!?" Luzura pulled the rectangle out, watching the video for the 50th time.
King flipped the notepad over it, "Hey, y'know what's really cryptish? Lemme tell you about the most spine-chilling demon: Smoochie Pie the Sweetie Baby!", he showed her his doodle of a fish with spiky fins, "It's a lot more threatening than the name sounds but-"
"Not now, King. I wanna finish this spell.", Luzura sighed, "But if I've got a defective bile sac, what's the point? I'll just be twirling my fingers around unmagically forever..."
"Why do you want to learn magic do bad anyway?"
She sighed again.
"I'm a nobody back at the castle, or anywhere else. Sure, I'm the Princess, but what good is a title if I can't live up to it? I'm a powerless witch who's next in line for the throne, after the most powerful witch on the entire Boiling Isles! I'm a joke. If I learned to be a witch, I'd finally be somebody. It's not like I'm learning anything there. Do you know what it's like to haevno one take you seriously?"
King sighed, "If I help you with the spell, can we finish our lesson?"
"Oh! Yes, you can teach me about demons all week of you help me cast the spell!"
"Well, Eda said they used to do magic differently, so there has to be a way, right? And I have a theory...", the demon scrawled a rough diagram of his theory, "Every day, I see her sneaking sips of this special elixir, see? And afterwards, she always gets a boost of energy, see? I think that's where she gets her powers! And I know where to get some."
"Really?"
"Sí."
"Oh, thank you, you're a prince!" Luzura scooped King into a hug.
"King. I'm King."
"Right."
Thunder continued to roar outside as King snuck up the stairs to Eda's room. He creaked the door open as the Owl Lady snored in her nest. King looked around the room, spotting the gold elixir on the nestside table.
He quietly walked up to the table, nearly taking his foot off when a bear trap snapped shut.
"Ha! Nice try." He taunted, only to see the trap's eye open as it walked away.
"Nah, my heart wasn't in it..."
He finished climbing up to the bottle, lifting up half-ripped off tag to read it.
"An elixir a day...Huh, cryptic." He left the room and returned to Luzura, who was sitting at the kitchen table.
"Got it!" Luzura took the bottle, and popped the cork out.
"Wow, I'm about to learn magic. Real magic! This is historic..." She slowly lifted the bottle to her mouth, about to take a sip. Suddenly, a flash of lightning startled her, making the bottle fly out of her hands and crash onto the hard floor.
"Golden elixir gone! This is awful!"
"Who even needs a light spell when we have tons of lamps!?" King asked, and as soon as he said that, the entire house went dark.
"Ugh, Hooty controls the house lights. He probably just fell asleep."
A loud crash came from the living room, Hooty shrieking.
They rushed into the living room, gasping at the horrible sight before them. The front door was torn clean off, Hooty knocked out on the floor. A large creature covered in shadow growled as it scratched the door, running out into the rain.
"Hooty! Hooty, are you in there?! Whatever did this escaped into the rain! What could survive that?!"
"Oh my gosh, the Snaggleback!" King exclaimed, remembering his book of demons, "It feeds during the rain. It must've come across our house and seen us inside!"
A bone-chilling howl came from the distance, the large monster flying in through the top floor window.
"This terrifying! Why do you look so happy?!" Luzura asked.
"Because this could be a great lesson! This is the perfect opportunity to see a demon up close in personal!"
"You wanna go toward those creepy sounds?! No way!"
"What if Eda gets eaten?! She's up there alone and defenseless because you knocked her out!"
Oh Titan, Eda!? She can't let anything happen to Eda!
They went back inside, armoring themselves with pillows and brooms. They walked up the stairs, using the flashlight of the square device, up to Eda's room.
The house was horribly dark, and the tapping of the rain didn't help matters. The flashlight was the only source of light, aside from the occasional flash of lightning or two, but everything just seemed creepier at night. The only thing you could hear was their racing hearbeats, rain, and the slight rustling of the distant beast.
The room was messier than it already was, the window was broken, the curtains were torn, and Eda's nest was empty.
"She got Snaggle-backed!" King screamed.
Luzura ran up to the nest, horrified to see slash marks in her pillows.
"King, you're the demon expert. What do we do!?"
"I'll go get my demon book!" King ran off alone, grabbing both the first and second edition of his books. When he got back, however, the room was now empty.
"Luzura?! The Snaggleback got her!"
Looming shadows ran through the house, King following behind.
"You craven beast! Give me back my Boo-Boo Buddy!"
He turned a corner, seeing a door creak closed, Luzura's boot laying in front of it.
King went into the closet, spotting a shadow underneath a rack of coats, "There's no where for you to run...", He pulled the coats back, "Snaggleback?"
The shadow turned out to be a quivering pink creature with a spiky blue shell, no bigger than King.
"Wow, you're a lot shorter in person..."
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I just needed somewhere to hide from the rains." The Snaggleback said.
"Then why'd you break down our door and take Luzura? That's not cool, man, bad Snaggleback!"
"I-I didn't do any of that, I swear! I snuck in through a window, just now!"
"Huh? Then what-"
A large clawed hand broke through the ceiling, snatching up the Snaggleback.
"Oh no, a twist!"
The closet door creaked open again, the now unknown monster stood at the entrance, burping up the Snaggleback's shell. It stomped towards the little demon, snarling.
"Stay back! Hey! Hey, I'm the King of Demons, okay? And as such, I demand you barf my friends back up!"
The monster raised its claws, swiping them at King, who ducked and ran under the beast and out into the hallway.
He rushed through the halls, the creature following behind, its glowing golden eyes only serving it to be more terrifying.
An arm reached out and grabbed King to pull him into a room. He kept quiet as the large shadow passed the door, and unti lthe coast was clear.
"Luzura!"
"Oh, King, I'm so glad you're safe!"
"Where'd you go?"
"I was looking after Eda, and she was gone. Then you were gone! Then a tripped and lost my shoe, but I see you found it!"
She took her boot, a lifted up her foot to put it on. King spotted something stuck to her sole. He peeled it off, seeing it was part of a tag.
"Keeps the curse at bay..." he read, blinking in surprise. He took the tag from earlier out and stuck the to together.
"An Elixir a Day Keeps the Curse at Bay!"
"Curse? Wait. What're you trying to say?"
"I was wrong the whole time! That's no Snaggleback! That creature is-"
A fist burst through the door, tearing it open. The light gave them a perfect view of the monster. Muscular, fuzzy arms, wings, and a whole body covered in gray feathers. It bared its fangs as it spotted the kids, a smile creeping on its face.
"Eda?!"
Eda raised her claw, about to swipe at them, but Luzura's movement made the rectangle fall out of her pocket, making the camera flash right in her eyes. She screeched as she reeled back, her pupils shrinking at the light.
With the newfound time, Luzura scooped up King and hid behind the windowsill on the balcony. Eda sniffed around for them, Luz throwing a can to lead her away.
"Oh man, Did you see her eyes?! They were all dark and freaky! What happened to her?"
"Don't you see? The elixir I gave you doesn't give Eda powers, it keeps her from turning into that! She's turned into a nightmare, and it's all my fault! I'm so sorry, Luzura. I wanted you to be into demons like you were into magic. I don't have many friends and no one even pays that much attention to me. I thought maybe if I taught you, someone would care about creatures like me." King lamented.
Luzura sat there, unknowing what to do. How could she just blow him off as she did? She's supposed to be a princess that cares about her future people. Well, she could start now. She smiled, pulling out the pen.
"Well, let's finish the lesson..." she said.
"Huh?"
"Eda's turned into some kind of demon. And who knows more about demons than the best teacher in the world?"
King took the pen and gave Luzura the biggest hug he could muster. He then grabbed a handful of leaves, and doodled a little picture of the beastly Owl Lady.
"Okay, She was big, hairy, and had giant black eyes. Demons with black eyes are usually sensitive to light. You can use that human wonder rectangle!" He said.
"I can't, the camera's all blasted." She said, pulling the device out.
"Well, how about that light spell?"
"You saw me. I can't draw spell circles. I'm not like Eda..." Luzura clicked the video to play it again, it began glitching in the middle of it. Upon a closer look, Luzura could make a pattern in the center of the circle.
"There's a pattern in the spell circle!"
"What?"
"It looks like this!" Luzura took a leaf and the pen, tracing the pattern. She tapped the pen when she finished, and the leaf began to glow and shrivel up. It crumpled itself I to a small, glowing orb of light.
Luzura's heart raced as she cupped the small light in her hands. It couldn't be, it just couldn't- but it is.
A powerless witch just performed magic.
"It's beautiful....I just did magic! I just did magic!" She yelled, jumping up in excitement.
"Shh! We're not gonna stip anything with something that small!" King said.
Eda roared in the distance, making Luzura dive down to douse the light.
"What do we do now?"King asked.
"I think I know how to get Eda back. Will you help me, Boo-Boo Buddy?"
"I'm kinda over that nickname, but okay!"
Eda sniffed around the living room, until a shiny pink light caught her eye. King leaned against the archway, holding the glowing pen.
"Oh dear, what is this? Oh my, it's just so dang shiny~" he teased.
Eda shrieked and gave chase, following Ling back through the halls and setting a trap. Eda slipped on a pile of books, flying underneath a blanket Luzura threw on her.
"I'm sorry, Eda, but this is for your own good!" Luzura completed drawing the pattern on the wall, and smacked it, making the whole house glow with a heavenly light.
Eda cracked her eyes open, sitting up and taking the straw out of her mouth. She was back in her nest, groggy and sick from all that judt happened. She turned her head, only to find that half of her face was still in beast mode. She yelped, quickly slurping down the rest of the elixir bottle.
Her eyes turned back to their golden color, and the gem on her chest stopped fading into darkness. Eda groaned, rubbing her temples.
"Ugh, What happened? I have the worst headache- and my mouth tastes like roadkil-"
She cut herself off by vomiting up an owl pellet, the shelless Snaggleback quaking inside.
"I'm just gonna....lie here a minute...."
Eda picked up the empty bottle, "I was lookin' for that..."
"Actually, we found an extra one in your closet!" King chimed in.
"King?! King, you stole my elixir?! I oughtta break every bone in your-"
"Shhhh! Look!" King pointed.
Luzura was sitting in the corner, drawing on square pieces of paper, orbs of light dancing in the air around her and the room.
"How is she doing that?" Eda whispered.
"I don't know, but she's doing it all on her own!" King said. They sat in wonder for a second, before King started again.
"Hey, I kinda messed a bunch of stuff up back there, and I wanted to say I'm sorry...."
"Well you better be! I've got a long list of disgusting chores with your name on it!", Eda growled, "But, it's not entirely your fault....I haven't been completely honest with you guys. When I was younger, I was cursed. I don't know exactly how it happened, all of know is that if I don't take my elixir.....well, that's why they call me the Owl Lady. No one likes having a curse, but if you take the right stuff, it's manageable..."
"Woah, so are you okay?" Luzura asked.
"There's nothing for you to worry about...It's under control, and if no one steals my elixir -King- then I'm fine. But, hey, look at this! A powerless witch doing magic! Good on you, kid."
"I had some encouragement from a great teacher..." Luzura said, looking down at King.
"Oh you..."
"UH. HEY! IS ANYONE THERE? HOOT, IM ON THE FLOOR! ITS COLD!" Hooty yelled from downstairs.
"That voice. That horrific voice!" King grumbled, stomping out the door.
"We'll take care of him. You stay in bed." Luzura told Eda, she then scooped up the Snaggleback and carried him out, "Come on you goopy fella, we'll set you free now.."
"Ow! Ow, I think my tail was digested..."
They left, closing the door behind them, and Eda flopped back into the nest, closing her eyes.
When she opened them, she was standing in a dark, empty void. The door to her old bedroom sat before her, creaking open. The blurry figure stood there with its giant white eyes, glaring at Eda.
"You. You're the one who cursed me, aren't you?!"
They said nothing, only standing there as Eda reached out to them.
"Who are you? WHO ARE YO-"
Eda gasped and launched herself back up, sighing.
Luzura stuck many band-aids to the claw marks on the door, it was still raining, so she didn't have worry about returning to the castle yet, "Welcome to the Boo-Boo Buddy club, Hooty."
"Finally I get to be a part of something!"
The Snaggleback sat on the couch, spouting off its experience with the owl beast to King.
"Then, shehad teeth in her stomach! Teeth in her stomach! Can you believe that?!"
"Oho, yeah! This'll be a great addition toy demon book!" King showed him the drawing.
"That book is filled with so many interesting things! Like this!", he grabbed the book and flipped to his page, "I'm one of the strongest demons on the Boiling Isles, huh?"
"Yeah, I'm gonna have to edit that..."
"Oh."

History 101
Some highlights of the last EDA I’ve read (The Crooked World).
I took these screens while reading, along with my reactions. As usual, this is full of spoilers.
I really like the ideas in this book, and any kind of summary I could make of it would sound incredibly creative and exciting. Except it took me eight months to read it. I’m still not entirely sure why. The regulars were either a bit muted (Eight) or pretty good (Fitz and Anji), but the plot dragged a bit in the middle, and the ending is kind of underwhelming, even if it’s okay.
Maybe the book is too dry for my taste? 6/10
Oh, so this book features Miles' self-insert character uh I mean Sabbath
Well that’s just rude
There’s so much to unpack here
Loving the description
Ohhhhh they are in Paris!
But also in 1937! Please leave soon! You’re welcome!
Yeaaaah admittedly you didn't pick the best era to relax
And now for something completely different
Yeah this is all very something
That's what a good musical cover is
Are Absolutes just as deluded as Time Lords about non-interference or-
How boring of you
Eternal reminder that I love Fitz
Now you see me now you don’t
So you're visiting all the least interesting things in Paris got it
Are you gonna kill the guy like Griffin from Unnatural History probably would
Are
Are you an equivalent of Griffin but with the concept of subjective experience
Eight, accidental art collector
Glad this is finally addressed
Also:
sdfghjhgfFGHJKLKJ
[disappointed Fitz noises]
I shouldn’t laugh
Meanwhile this poor guy is being uploaded by the Absolute
RIP him I guess but I love the imagery
Stop it
Shit. You know... I hadn't even considered the fact that Fitz was technically already alive in 1937
BAD IDEA BAD IDEA BAD IDEA
Anji is concerned Eight is going to forget Fitz again
Don’t we all
Damn right
Meanwhile the Absolute is looking at humans like humans look at deep sea fish exploding when pulled out of the water
Hang on is this going to be another 'I love Anji' book
Are you running a program to debug space & time now
I like the 'history is subjective' angle of this book but it's starting to drag a bit
Has Fitz found a friend?
UNPROVOKED ATTACK
Everything turned out better than expected
Real talk, none of this should be this boring
Also real talk, this shouldn't be that surprising to you, Anji
So far I'm only invested in the tension between Fitz and that Sasha guy
HAHAHA is he wrong though
I knew this book was being suspiciously nice to Eight so far
“UNNERVING” IS THE WORD
Well, thank you for this disturbing thought I guess
Why is this cute. Why is any of this cute
YOU ARE FRIENDS NOW I DON’T MAKE THE RULES
FRIENDS FRIENDS FRIENDS
Jueves stop flirting with Anji please
How rude of them
We often think of historical events as big noisy things but depending on the observer they can either be terrifying or strangely mundane, really
TIME FOR SOME WAR CRIMES
You had one job, Eleana
You had one job
This is all very Fires of Pompeii
Anji fumbling with a rifle is weirdly endearing
I mean, Eleana isn't wrong, that *is* dangerous
This is getting confusing
“brothers” yeah sure
I’m not gonna lie I’m way too invested in these two idiots on a roadtrip through war-torn Spain
Why am I getting emotional
Kinda cool, but to be honest I’m still staring at the pages numbers as if I was looking at my watch
Yeah Fitz is like a bad penny
I love them your honor I don’t want them to ever be separated
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
This is giving me bad flashbacks from back when I occasionally slept outside
Why am I so emotional about this
YESSSSSSSSSS SASHA IS BACK
Meanwhile the TARDIS is still feeling sick
Yes we've known that for about 90 pages now can you please pick up the pace
I mean-
Of course I’m glad he’s back but I’ll miss his dynamic with Sasha
We know please hurry up with that plot
Why is this cute
Oh ok the dude is working for Sabbath
Still like him though
Hi what does any of that mean
Oh no
WAIT WAIT WAIT
STOP STOP HANG ON
FITZ AND JUEVES?
WAIT ARE JUEVES AND SASHA THE SAME GUY
Things are finally happening, at least
NO THEY ARE NOT
Usually I would be alarmed but I'm just happy something's happening
Hi hello what the fuck just happened
At least that was interesting?
Well here's proof I'm still not over Interference 2
For once it's Anji who's in a cell
Has
Has Fitz just admitted he slept in the Doctor's room at least one time while the guy wasn't there
Not gonna lie I feel sorry for this guy
Aw Fitz is concerned he'll never play the guitar again
Must be a Tuesday
How very Picasso of you, Absolute
Yeah they’re definitely the same guy holy shit
I wouldn't do that if I were you
Stop making me emotional for the guy who's working for Sabbath
YESSSSSSSS THEY’RE REUNITED AND HE’S GONNA GET HIM OUT OF DANGER
They tug on all my very specific heartstrings, like “falling asleep in a dumb place because you trust the other person to keep you safe” previously or “gently inspecting wounds” like here
I’m feeling emotions
Stop being cute
So it IS very Fires of Pompeii actually
WHY AM I LOW-KEY SHIPPING IT
Great nightmare fuel, thank you for that
Come on, don't make me think of better books
Now Eight is having a casual chat with Cubist Nightmare Man
A very cool visual
Again, very cool!
Of course. Where else
Interesting how the Doctor is technically perceived like a monster by this entity
But again this is kinda reminiscent of Griffin
Okay that was incredibly weird and cool
No idea how it worked though
Hi hello yes if he really is a double agent I'm gonna murder this guy
Ok no that’s a bit cheap
Eight, historical anarchist
GOOD
It's not like the other option is much better Anji
Ok this situation is pretty fun
Fitz is getting rather genre savvy now
Anji is mostly shrugging off all this weirdness
Great, now you can make terrible plans together
Hi Sabbath, fancy seeing you here, can you please give him back his second heart
Your 'chap' was my favorite thing in this story. Get out of here
Great but. Like. Can we leave now
Wait, here’s that motif of the eye in the sky from Henrietta Street again?

D&D Character Bios
Anastasia Apollovna Voron
Race: Dhampir
Age: 101 (mentally 25)
Class: Bard
Pronouns: She/Her
Hight: 5’10”
Voice Claim: Linda Eder
Fashion Sense: Dark and sophisticated; vampire gothic
Backstory: Her mother was a noble born vampire heiress, and her father was Lord Apollo. Alas, her mother passed away in childbirth. Even so, despite him being a god presiding over Greece and all other Pagans who need him, and her being raised in Moscow, Apollo always tried to be present in his daughter’s life. Anastasia was raised with all the niceties of vampiric nobility: she was intelligent, polite, and charming. However, the vampiric people of the city have a vow they have made to their people: they protect all from doom. Anastasia was also taught how to ride horses, hunt, and use a whole manner of weaponry. However, nothing could compare to the times where Apollo would come to teach her music. Music was her life–her very soul. It was her dream to become a world famous composer and musician who touched souls the way music touched her own. However, one day while she was riding her horse Alexi, She simply…clipped through the world. For the next eighty years of her life, Anastasia had to survive through the hell of the Labyrinth. She had companions there, but she always lost them. The worst death she had to face was that of Alexi. Anastasia was forced to bury her trauma. After all, there was no time for tears when a new foe was around every corner. She had practically given up her dreams of becoming a composer. She didn’t even have hope on the surface. The people there were all the same. The world was all the same. This world was only about survival. There was no time for love or happiness when all joy in her life would be snuffed out in the next battle. Every piece turned into a funeral dirge. Even when she found an exit back into the real world, she wasn’t happy. She’d somehow ended up in a town in Greece. She took a job as an entertainer at a tavern, and she was practically forced into prostitution in order to scrape by. The only companion she had left was her father, who always tried his best to keep her spirits alive. The only hope she had left was that one day, she might make it back home…wherever home even was.

Ophelia: Lady of the Forest of Fog
Race: Satyr/Fawn
Age: 37
Class: Druid
Pronouns: She/Her
Hight: 6’4”
Voice Claim: Mary Jane Wells
Fashion Sense: Eerie, yet elegant; dark fairycore
Backstory: She was born to a dryad mother and a satyr. Her father was a wanderer, so he left her mother after a one-night stand. Her mother raised her in a beautiful, secluded forest. Everything was perfect: the birds were always chirping, the flowers were always blooming, Ophelia was creating strange plant life that was frightening the others, just regular things. Needless to say, because of satyrs’ affiliation with lust, Ophelia never had a good reputation. Her fascination with plants and bending them to her whim also didn’t help. None of the other dryads paid her any mind, and if they did, they’d always give her disgusted looks. Her mother said she loved her, but always seemed regretful whenever Ophelia was around. Even so, she had a lover: Eda. Eda loved Ophelia’s strangeness for what it was, and they often spent time alone in the dark parts of the woods admiring the things that went by. However, one bitter Winter forced all the Dryads to go into hibernation. Ophelia, given that she couldn’t, was charged with protecting them. She did her best, nearly starving herself in the process. Alas, people needed warmth. An adventuring party from the closest town over came into the forest and chopped down multiple trees that were really dryads, one of them being Eda. Ophelia did her best to protect her family, but there were too many people. When the others woke up, they berated Ophelia, calling her a coward and a failure. Eventually, the dryads decided to banish her. Even her own mother agreed, saying that Ophelia was a disgrace for letting the others die. For years, Ophelia was truly alone. Craving the love she once had, she took in many lovers; three of which got her pregnant. Despite never planning to have children, Ophelia took her role as a mother in stride, vowing to make sure her kids knew that she would unconditionally love and protect them. The first of her lovers she keeps in good touch with, and are mutual friends to this day. Her second lover passed before their son’s birth, so the first vowed to be a father to them. Her third lover blames Ophelia and their daughter for ruining his life, but he only takes it out on Ophelia. As these rendezvous happened, Ophelia found a home in a dark, foggy forest. There, she trained her magical skills to tune themselves with nature, specifically, the forest itself. Said forest is filled with strange lifeforms straight from one’s wildest dreams or nightmares. Even so, Ophelia felt in tune with them. She was always in tune with the strange and unnatural, and now here she was surrounded by it. The forest soon became her own, and all who live there bow to her whim. Her own children, Cassandra, Salvador, and Evangeline are the only other people the forest bows to. Her forest and her children are her life, and life almost seems peaceful…almost.

Scale-Hearted Alice
Race: Half-Elf
Age: 20
Class: Rogue/Bard
Pronouns: She/They
Hight: 5’6”
Voice Claim: Rio Romeo
Fashion Sense: Practical, yet elaborate; piratecore gothic
Backstory: She was born to an elven princess and her human servant. Her mother wanted to keep her so badly, but was forced to abandon her. Already having lost her lover to imprisonment and illness, she couldn’t lose her daughter too. Alas, she was a “filthy half-breed,” and the other option was baby Alice’s death. Her mother had no choice but to abandon her to an orphanage. Alice lived the majority of her childhood in an overcrowded orphanage, stealing food just so she could have a decent meal. As she grew older, she understood the world for what it was: a good place muddled by the corruption of the privileged few. More than anything, Alice wanted to help make the world a better place, to swindle from the rich to give to those who needed it. Alas, there wasn’t much that some kid could do. One day as Alice was stealing from a tavern, they came across a pirate crew. They looked like gods to her. This was the kind of person she wanted to be. She almost felt bad about stealing from them. Alas, she should’ve known that they would catch her. More specifically, their captain did, a blood hunter/bard dragonborn. However, he let her go. He knew why she was doing what she did, and he let her go scott free. He even gave her some of his lunch to take with her. Starry eyed and flabbergasted, she kept coming to that tavern. It was then that she realized that the captain was, indeed, also a bard. Alice had loved bards and everything they did, but this…brand of bard, per se, really skyrocketed her interest. The captain, who introduced himself as Solas, decided to teach her how to improve her singing as well as the fiddle when he could. Over time, she showed him where all the nasty nobles were so he and his crew could wreak the havoc she couldn’t. She even helped sometimes. Alice and Solas grew closer every day, and one day, he offered for her to join his crew. She was hesitant at first, worrying about the others at the orphanage. However, they cheered her on. That fateful day, Solas came in and legally adopted Alice, surprising and overjoying her. Her time as a pirate was the happiest she’d ever been. She plundered from the rich to give to the poor, she performed across kingdoms, she rescued a dragon egg when its mother was found dead, she found untold treasures, the dragon hatched and she named her Nyx, she called Solas “Papa” and they both cried tears of joy, life was finally good. One day, during a mission, Alice got in trouble with the law, landing her in jail. The rest of the crew rescued her, but in the kerfuffle, Alice shot and killed the lord of the city. She’d hated the bastard for what he did to his citizens, but it was an accident. The Star Sailors fled as fast as they could. However, in her anger, the lord’s wife made her mage cast a storm to kill them all. Alice tried to hold on. Solas kept her close and held onto her as tight as he could, but it was all in vain. A wave tipped the ship over, separating everyone. Alice woke up to her bags, weapons, and Nyx licking her face. Her crew was gone. Her family was presumed dead. Her mistake killed them. SHE killed them. Every atom in her body was telling her to grab her pistol and shoot her brains out. Someone like her didn’t deserve to exist. They couldn’t even bear to look at themself in the reflection of the ocean. Their purpose in life was to help people, yet they killed innocents, their own family. They would’ve shot themself if it weren’t for Nyx. Nyx needed her. She needed someone to raise her. She was only a child. Instead, Alice picked up her things and went to the village. From then on, she swore vengeance against all wealthy and powerful scoundrels. She would try to right her wrongs, although she knew she never could. She would rob and kill all wealthy individuals she could, causing madness for the wicked. They would wait for Nyx to grow up, and when she did, they would leave this plane. Even so, somehow, they cannot bring themself to die. It’s as if, deep down, they know they’re innocent, and that perhaps, her crew is alive somewhere…

Diana “Noctura” Lupin
(Diana also doubles as my Baldur’s Gate Three Tav)
Race: Drow
Age: 300 (mentally 30)
Class: Rogue/Sorcerer (technically should be a bard)
Pronouns: She/Her
Hight: 5’8”
Voice Claim: The Buttress
Fashion Sense: Dark and mysterious; Medieval gothic
Vibe: An unholy fusion of Jessica Rabbit, Morticia Addams, and Catwoman, all with Medieval flair
Backstory: She was born into a noble family of sorcerers who had recently fallen from grace. They refused to worship Lolth, and instead, worshiped another god. This led her to have a wretched reputation even before she was born. Her family is exceptionally skilled in magic, but she was pushed to an unnatural degree to be good. Diana channeled her magic through music; it was calming to her. It was a means of sharing her life and the stories of the world in a way simple words couldn’t. However, as she grew older, she grew to resent magic. After all, her family was a family of sorcerers. As long as she had magic, she was connected with her family. When she was fifteen, her mother passed away, and due to the matriarchal society drow have, Diana was made the head of her household. The years she was a matriarch made Diana realize that she was worth nothing to anyone unless she was successful in…something. A weak drow was a useless drow. Despite the things she did, Diana was never truly loved. This led to her leaving as soon as she became an adult. She changed her name to Noctura, and began a new life. One where she could be loved. She became a smuggler, as she wanted a job that had nothing to do with magic, but she wasn’t very strong. She ended up getting a job for a very powerful crime syndicate. The leader was a drow woman named Arachne, and she treated Noctura as a beloved pet. Noctura was damn good at her job, and she strained to do better, as Arachne was the only person who seemed to truly love her. Arachne would praise and take care of Noctura, rewarding her if she did well. This made Noctura grow exhausted, and she forgot to care for herself. As she grew weaker, so did her ability to do her job. Arachne began to ignore her and punish her as if she were a child. Noctura craved Arachne’s attention and affection so badly, she would continue to deplete her health for her. Alas, that only caused her to do worse in her work. Arachne no longer had a use for her, so she sold her to the mind flayers. No matter how Noctura cried and begged, Arachne didn’t give her a single chance. Somehow, Noctura escaped the mind flayers. However, she no longer had a purpose. No one in the world loved her. What use did she have if no one loved her? She joined the group of survivors for reasons not even she understood. Did she have hope that she could be loved again? She didn’t know. If things didn’t work out, she always had daggers….
