Their concepts are mature, but not in the sexy sense, in the sound and overall style. Somewhat dark and mysterious. Their sound is whimsical and a little magical but dark and at times and hard hitting with meaningful lyrics.

The group is split into three subunits. 

Umbra: Eros, Ellie, and Min. The more mature of the subunits. They have a dark, more badass concept, but done in a very stylized way. They tackle really difficult topics in their music and the sound is very unique and every evolving but it always retains something that sound like them

Prominence: Sammie, LJ, Rocket, and Pidge. They pull from the more whimsical but dark side of their music. Sometimes they go the direction of uplifting songs but often dip into the mystery as well. They have an overall dark style with their comebacks but it’s got an ethereal feel to it. Their music feels timeless.

Diamond Ring: Sky, Sam, Cura, and Berry. They have a very bright, fun sound. Their music is quick, upbeat, and catchy. Their songs often surround uplifting concepts and their stages are a lot of fun, with cute antics and quick lyrics that still dip into serious topics.

Here's my Hot Take™ on how Defenders of Tomorrow would go down (Pt.1)

-It would start out on earth with the cyberpunk aesthetic™ in a city named Arus

-Instead of the Garrison being a space exploration school, it would be like the main police force

-It's kind of like a cowboy bebop like universe, where the planets in the solar system are colonized and you can travel between them

-Each planet has a Representative, like a Planet President

-Earths Representative is Sam Holt (idk what his name is in the VDT universe tho)

-Aliens and humans live side by side/ aliens have already been introduced to earth and all the other planets

-The Galra are still aliens but the Galra empire is a gang simply called 'The Empire'

- Daibazaal and Altea were both planets in the same solar system

-All the paladins of old were a representive for a planet in their collective solar system

-Alfor was Altea's representative and Zarkon was Daibazaal's obv

-Quintessence is a power drug that was created by Honerva (don't know her VDT name) who was Vice President of Altea, once she married zarkon she became Vice President of Daibazaal

-Alfor and Zarkon got into a dispute over the production and sales of quintessence and a civil war broke out between the planets of the solar system

-Alfor and Honvera became addicted to quintessence over this time

-Alfor won the civil war against Zarkon and Daibazaal was banished from solar system

-Zarkon gathered together all the remaining galran after being banished and banded them together to take over altea

-Altea and the remaining planets in the solar system were taken over and destroyed by a quintessence powered up drugged Zarkon

-There's no 10,000 year time skip but there is 18-19 year time gap between current and these events

-Before altea was destroyed Vex (VDT Coran) and Alzina (VDT Allura) were sent out into space on the Castle ship which they title castle of lions. Alzina was a baby at this time

-Zarkon and Honvera (now calling herself by her gang name Haggar) build up a gang that specializes in quintessence

-Their industry has taken over the underground of tons of solar systems

-Vex pilots the ship to Earths solar system after hearing the Empire hadn't reached there yet and they land on earth

-Vex raises Alzina on earth yet they still live out of the castle ship

-Vex and Alzina know they're aliens in my take

-They both live on the down low bc they don't want to be discovered as alteans, as the whole universe knows about the Altean civil war and Vex and Alzina don't want word to spread to zarkon about them being alive

-Alzina is a badass who works in the underground as a chemist

-Alzina is the one who starts the paladin name system, she uses the name Pink Paladin while interacting in the public as to not reveal her identity

-Alzina still has her good morals and does her fair share of bounty hunting as well

-Alzina is bi

-The Empire catches word that there's an untapped quintessence potential in Earths solar system and decides to head there to take over the underground

-Shiro is a high ranked officer at the Garrison and is sent out on a mission to Kerberos (which hasn't been colonized yet) along with Matt Holt (don't know his VDT name) and Sam Holt to inspect Kerberos and determine if it should be colonized

-Shiro is gay obv

-Pluto is a mining planet in this btw, no one lives there full time

-While on the mission to Kerberos the galra capture them in hopes to use them as bargaining tools

-there is a one year time skip between when Shiro and the others were captured to the current time the au takes place in btw

-The Empire begins to take over the underground of the other planets in Earth's solar system during this time

-Akira (Keith) was a garrison student in training under Shiro's guidance but dropped out after Shiro was taken to look for him in the underground

-I've been saying underground a lot and I want y'all to know I don't literally mean underground the planets but like the crime land, the black market y'all kno

-Krolia (idk VDT name) was part of a rival gang to the Empire called the Blade of Marmora. Krolia was still a spy in this

-Krolia has Akira and Alice (VDT Acxa) with Texas kogane before going back to the Blade bringing Alice with her (they're twins)

-Texas was killed in the underground and Akira was abandoned

-Akira was adopted by Shiro and put in the Garrison. Akira and Shiro had a beyond close bond and loved each other v much

-Akira is gay

-Akira didn't care about what shit he fucked up, he only cared about finding Shiro so he was p reckless but he wasn't like intentionally hurting people

-Akira obvs had a motorcycle

-Leandro (Lance) was a garrison drop out who decided that the police force was 'too tame' for him

-Leandro works as basically a full on bounty hunter by the name 'The Tailor', he also steals occasionally and also isn't worried about being reckless but he still cares about people

-Leandro is Bi

-One time Leandro was in a fight and was about to lose when Akira showed up in a motorcycle to save him last minute

-Akira and Leandro didn't know each other at this time but Leandro swore he would repay Akira if the day ever came when he needed help

-Leandro doesn't know Akira's name at this point, but he nicknames him Samurai after seeing Akira fight with a knife

-Akira also doesn't know Leandro's real name but Leandro introduced himself as the tailor when they first met

-Leandro does end up getting Akira out of a tough situation and the two make it their thing to save each other

-Henare (Hunk) was a garrison student as well but he never dropped out and planned to work for the police

-Henare and Leandro were best friends from when Leandro spent a short time at the garrison. They never lost their bond but Henare doesn't approve of what Leandro is doing, but he wouldn't ever rat out his friend

-Henare is Pansexual

-Bounty hunting/Vigilante action is kinda illegal in this world. Instead of turning in their bounties to the police for reward, bounty hunters catches are sold underground

-Laya (Pidge) is an engineer/hacker and overall genius who despite growing up with a Garrison dedicated family loved messing around and would often venture to the underground and black market with Matt to buy new parts for robots and to get up to schenagines

-After Matt and Sam went missing she changed her name to Pana and went underground full time in the hopes of finding him (she done pull an Akira)

-Pana sells information and robots to the blackmarket and works as a kind of an on call hacker

-Pana is asexual

-Pana became friends with Leandro after she makes a deal that goes sour and Leandro comes in last minute and takes the guy out

-Leandro notices how young Pana is and makes sure to keep an eye out from then on out and realizing he won't go away Pana begins to work with him in hopes of information on Matt.

-Pana ends up actually caring about him and the two take on a brother-sister kinda role though she won't admit it

-Pana becomes friends with Henare through Leandro and the two instantly bond over their love of engineering

-Pana builds rover when she first went to live in the underground full time to keep her company and rover is like her lil sidekick aw

-Shiro lives within the Empire for a year and when the Empire let's their guard down, Shiro is able to grab a small pod like ship and high tails it back to earth

-He crash lands on earth in the desert outside of Arus

-Shiro lost an arm while in the Empire in this as well and when he crash lands he damages his leg beyond repair

- Dante (VDT Adam) will build Shiro a new arm and leg and they'll bond and end up dating

- Pana, Leandro and Henare will get together with Akira when saving Shiro from the crash

-Alzina and Vex will get together with everyone else during a fight

-Alice will have been seperated from Krolia and will have joined up with Lotor and the generals

-Lotor broke away from his parents will have arranged a mini gang with the generals to go against the Empire

-Alzina and the crew will build fighter ships which they'll name blue lion, red lion, yellow line, green lion and black lion (yes the lions are fighter ships in this)

-The galra will come to take over and the the team including Dante will fight back.

-They call themselves the paladins and each name themselves after a color

-they'll call their whole operation voltron

-Rowan (Romelle) will be one of the alteans that was born off altea as her parents were off planet when it was destroyed. Lotor offers her and other alteans the opportunity to join his mini gang and she takes it. She works with lotor for awhile but leaves after believing he's not what he says he is.

-She goes to earth to escape him and the Empire and ends up meeting the rest of the gang

-Her and Alzina eventually become a thing

-And y'all already know leakira is happening

Summary:  When Keith is bitten by an alien creature with venom that causes your dominant emotions to be amplified, the team is ready for a day of dealing with an incredibly angry paladin.

Which means they’re not ready at all for what actually happens.

Comments:  The almost stream-of-consciousness writing of Keith’s parts are really gut-wrenching because it’s as if you are experiencing it with him. (Warning for panic attacks- if you are triggered at all by that sort of thing you may want to sit this one out, it gets pretty graphic). A couple good song pairings for this fic to set the tone are Broken Crown and World Gone Mad.

    **Synergy by Kokochan & Spanch

Word count:  74,064 (10/10) 

Summary:  The vines were large, stiff, gnarly, and thick-stemmed, with blue leaves as big and round as dinner plates, but Shiro’s battle-arm was able to sever several long straggles with ease. The vines draped easily enough over the shuttle and hid it quite handily from view. “Good enough, I suppose,” Shiro said, glaring at the empty greenish-blue sky. “Come on, let’s… Hunk? What’s the matter?”

Hunk was staring at something behind him. “Shiro, don’t make any sudden moves just now, but there’s a really big lizard thing standing right behind you. Um. Two of them.”

Surprised, Shiro turned, albeit carefully. He’d never even heard them approach. That was rather impressive, considering the size of the beasts. It was as though someone had taken a pair of Arizonan horned lizards and rebuilt them more on the lines of a tiger without leaving out any of the spikes, then expanded them to about the size of an Indian elephant and added six large, intelligent blue eyes. Understandably, Shiro froze in place.

Comments: OH. MY. GOSH. OK. SO. This bad boy is Part 1 of 3, so far, with a total series word count of 241,404 at the moment. This beautiful titan of a series is named Of The Pack, and it updates with great speed, considering it has two top tier authors working on it. The several OCs in this story are so lifelike and realistic and fit so well into the universe that I forget that they aren’t actually canon and I kind of miss them when I’m reading other Voltron fics. My favorite part is the world-building it does. Everything about this fic is so dynamic and multi-dimensional, from it’s characters to the epic plot - this is the exact opposite of lazy writing. I am so here for badass Pidge, and the matriarchal Galra culture and the dragons. I👏LOVE👏THIS👏FIC👏

Also there’s magic! (with a scientific explanation, of course)

Comments:  The format of this is very intriguing and fresh. We get to see scenes of our favorite paladins through the eyes of their friends and families, from before they disappeared and the aftermath. The open ending is still satisfying and leaves you with a sense of determination and hope for these characters that you just couldn’t help but get attached to. If you’re big on government conspiracies then this is the fic for you!

  **Patty Cake by Froldgapp

Word count:  7,829 (6/6)

Summary:  Quiet, aloof, and alone, Keith is distant from the rest of the team. Hunk begins to suspect why, and it’s only when the red paladin pushes himself too far, the Voltron gang realise he’s just as vulnerable as the rest of them.

Comments:  Aaaaahhh this fic. Something about this one has me coming back to reread it all the time even though I always cry. It is just so angsty but in a more poignant, sharp, breathless kind of way. Some of the things the characters say send painful stinging jolts into your chest and you can feel your heart cracking and then you get angry because how dare (I mean ch4 tho holy sh*t). I just want to hug Keith so much ugh. Hunk’s protectiveness of Keith gives me the strength to finish this masterpiece every time. Also, this can kind of be Sheith if you squint (or not, if you don’t).

  The Message by Shipstiel

Word count:  132,787 (45/45)

Summary:  (4:07) okay, but considr this, and hear me out here (4:08) so like, a photobooth u can do with ur pets like there’ll be lil costumes that u can dress them up in, and u can do liek, period costumes and shit with them (4:09) omg, can u imagine, u and ur cat/dog, and theyre in a lil 1800s dress and one of those lace umbrella things omg so cute

Keith is texted by accident by some idiot one day, and honestly he’s not even sure why he responds. Or why he keeps responding. Yet somehow he finds himself drawn in, and okay, so maybe this fool is mildly entertaining after all. Who would’ve thought.

Comments:  Slowburn Klance Wrong Number AU. These two are so cute I just can’t. This is the perfect story if you are looking for something effortless and relaxing to read. Even though this contains some softcore Langst, it is still a very cute and heartwarming story about two dorks slowly falling in love. It features Lance’s mother who I fell in love with here, and the kind of supportive nosy best friends that everyone wants in real life (i.e. Hunk, Pidge, and Allura).

  **The Quiet by MilkTeaMiku

Word count:  66,700 (32/32)

Summary:  Does he not realize he’s dead?

Keith can see ghosts. As a part of his Garrison training, he’s sent to a hospital to do one year of medical clerkship - it’s there that he meets a charmingly irritating chose who definitely needs to learn what boundaries are.

Comments:  Modern Ghost AU with eventual Klance. This fic is the most suspenseful story I have ever read in my life. Idk if it’s just me, but I just have this feeling building up paragraph by paragraph of an impending… something. And it has my heart racing which is crazy because it isn’t even particularly fast-paced. There’s just a heaviness to the words that have the hairs on the back of your neck prickling. I literally have to take a breather from reading sometimes to calm down. 

A couple cool songs I think set the mood for this fic is Smother and Mirror.

  Finding Home by spacegaykogane

Word count:  26,966 (6/6)

Summary:  After the wormhole collapses, Keith finds himself stranded on a strange planet. Alone. Until Lance comes along. With their lions dead and resources limited, Keith and Lance need to put aside their differences and work together to get home. Wherever that may be, now.

Comments:  Klance. I love Stranded fics where they have to work together to survive and bond over that. So yeah this one has some whump obviously, bc you know, crash landings aren’t very fun. This one is angsty but its balanced out by the fluffiness in the end.

  Cuddle Puddle by nothingwrongwiththerain

Word count:  46,782 (6/6)

Summary:  Unexpectedly, Shiro’s hand landed on the top of his head. Apparently with Lance and Hunk taking up all the shoulder real estate, Shiro would settle for ruffling Keith’s hair.

Keith was fairly certain his soul was about to detach and abandon his shaking body on the couch. He was surrounded, in the complete and total sense of the word, by other people. Not once before, not in his whole life, had he dealt with a situation like this one.

Or, five times Keith found himself too close for comfort and one time he couldn't get close enough.

Comments:  Klance featuring ace!Keith. Don’t be fooled by the fluffy summary, this is a very angsty fic with lots of Keith whump. Basically, as stated by the author, this story is about ‘Keith struggling with physical contact and learning to accept people care about him’. I love touch-starved Keith stories, like this one. I love the scenes with Kidge bros, featuring a super supportive Pidge. 

  At the Beginning by Sakuraiai

Word count:  64,203 (12/12)

Summary:  Inspired by Anastasia

King Zarkon of the Galra empire lost his only way in to the Kingdom of Altea. In his anger, he put a curse on the royal family. The young, adopted half Galran prince Keith disappeared when the palace was overrun, never to be seen again -- or so it seemed. The only surviving princess, Allura, grieving for her child, offers a reward for Keith's safe return.

Con artists, Lance and his best friend, Hunk plan to pawn off a phony to the princess, hoping to reap the rewards. They hold auditions and choose an orphan man who has a remarkable resemblance to the missing prince -- all the way down to his fluffy Galran ears.

Comments:  Can anyone say Anastasia AU?! I waited with baited breath for each chapter to come out and I was not once disappointed. I love the integration of the different alien races in this timeless story, it all works out so well. AN: hey i literally adored this and my heart kind of aches for domestic!keith

Warnings: some suggestive themes but primarily just fluff !

When you move in with keith it’s honestly kind of a disaster? Like he’s so used to living on his own and his idea of house decor is a couch with some sheets

So obviously when you drag him to ikea and pick out things like duvet covers and bookshelves and decorative plants?? He kind of is in shock

This isn’t even considering the time he came back to the apartment to find ? coasters?? And a whole dining room set up??? What?

Living together, while it takes some adjusting (seriously you even have plants in the bathroom like why??) is the happiest Keith has probably ever been

He gets to go to sleep with you in his arms every night and on the mornings he wakes up first he just takes you in with the morning sun and your bed head

He eventually wakes you up with gentle kisses all over your face and he whispers sweet nothings into your ear while rubbing your back and you swear it’s the most peaceful and loving feeling in the galaxy

Mornings when you wake up first go a little differently

Listen Keith is like, a really heavy sleeper when he isn’t on edge about something, so even if you wanted to wake him up, good luck

So you leave a kiss on his forehead and usually go make coffee and toast because Keith without coffee is a clumsy nightmare and if he breaks one more mug you swear to god you might have to kill him

If there was a way to just inject Keith with coffee in the mornings you would do it

Keith loves lazy days in with you; while he’s usually all action, it’s nice being able to get cozy in a place so safe and so full of love where he can just kind of melt and relax

Days like this mean lots of blankets and pillows and comfy PJ’s

One time, you tried getting into a pillow fight with him and let’s just say you have not tried a single time since then (you still eyeball him every time he reaches behind his back/head to adjust a pillow)

Usually for PJs you kind of just steal Keith’s stuff and it’s gotten to the point where he doesn’t even bother asking for it if you’ve claimed it

But one time you snuggled up to him on the couch in one of his big hoodies and the smallest shorts he’s ever seen and he couldn’t breathe you just looked so good

You noticed this was doing something to him when his hands kept wandering farther and farther up your legs and then he was whispering, no panting, in your ear and whining and kissing your neck and-

Now you know how to manipulate the fuck out of this soft boy

And you best believe he is a soft boy; he never really got the whole cheesy children’s movie experience as a kiddo, so when he saw your collection of pixar and dreamworks classics his curiosity peaks (he visibly and audibly cried at Up and it genuinely broke your heart)

He kind of loves hosting dinners and movie nights at your apartment

When Lance and Hunk come over for the first time, they’re fawning over all the knick knacks and cool shit you brought while Keith walks along with them (you overhear them freaking out when they check out the bathtub in your bathroom; “I didn’t even KNOW there could be so many skin care products!” and “Lance LAN C E CHECK OUT THE SOAP IT’S SHAPED LIKE HE A R TS  L O OK?” And you can’t really believe it)

Shiro is honestly thrilled because he can tell how happy you and Keith are and how well you guys support each other; Pidge is immensely disappointed by your lack of a surround sound system but when she finds the vintage video game consoles and all sorts of other gaming junk you have around she kind of doesn’t talk to anyone for hours

Something about hosting these things with you and being in the kitchen with you makes Keith very gooey

He likes doing the dishes? But you definitely aren’t complaining

Sometimes when you’re just standing at the kitchen counter he sneaks up behind you and puts his arms around your waist and buries his forehead into your neck and tells you how much he loves you and it makes your heart beat really fast

Loves dogs, but he’s lowkey a cat person

One day you surprise him with a little calico kitten and she loves him and he almost cries because he’s so happy and wow you love him so much

Things like “Who’s a good little clawed murderess? You are! Yes you are!” in a baby voice when Keith thinks he’s alone are more common than he’d like to admit

You and Cleo get along fine and you adore her but she’s definitely Keith’s kitty

Also yes, he did name her after one of the most badass female leaders in history, because his lil kit is also a strong woman!

Surprise makeout sessions are kind of a daily thing

Sometimes when he comes home after a long stressful day he just pulls you against him and kisses you with this intensity

Some mornings he just sees you and his heart swells and he starts with kissing your nose and your cheeks and then he kind of just puts his hands on your face and kisses the daylights out of you but in a slow, lazy kind of way

This boy is a g r e a t kisser dear lord

He’s kind of clueless when it comes to romantic gestures, but especially after you surprised him with Cleo he’s been trying a lot more

Sometimes it’s sly things, like coming home to new candles on your nightstand, or a vase of your favorite flowers on the coffee table (he’s still a shy boy and likes not making a big deal about these sorts of things what an a n g e l)

But one day he takes you out driving and refuses to tell you where you’re going and honestly you’re a little worried

An hour or two later you end up on a beach with a home packed picnic and fresh fruit and a soft blanket

An hour after that you end up straddling Keith with sand in your hair leaving marks on his neck and loving the sounds he’s making and-

Very much a routine kind of guy but you can’t say you mind

You guys have designated days for certain chores and friday nights are always take-out from the restaurant down the street and a new pixar movie nights

Also the first time Keith used your laundry machine he f u cki n g br oke it

Voltron/Lion King ll AU!

So, guys, listen up. I was watching The Lion King: Simba's Pride (The second lion King movie) Aaaand...... I got struck with an idea. So, these are who I think the characters would be. (Fyi, if you HAVEN'T watched Simba's Pride, you should. I love Kovu. And just......Kiara and Kovu were my OTP as a child, so...watch it if you haven't!) Characters: *Lance as Kiara: See, Lance and Kiara kinda have the same personality, in a way. And just....it would be perfect. In MY opinion, my opinion. If your opinion is diffrent, then okay. *Keith as Kovu: Just.....the similarities???? Like, even Kovu's hair kinda looks like Keith. He even has the bangs. And color hair. Also, there personalities. They seem Emo-ish and Stern, but in reality they are cinnamon roles who just have a terrible legacy they had no choice over, and want to be happy and accepted. *Shiro as Simba: Shiro as Simba, just....Simba is so over protective. Shiro=space dad. So, just....in my opinion the role fits. * Allura as Nala: Guys, okay, so Space dad + Space mom.Okay? Like, Simba and Nala together. Plus! Nala is badass and smart and just cool in general. Which is all Allura is, and more. So, yeah! * Pidge as Timon: Okay, so listen. I know, your (maybe) like "Pidge as Timon, what???" Listen! Like, Timon is awesome. And he is protective while being an overall awesome pearson. Pidge would be Lances "Kiara's" best friend and all. As well as Hunk. *Hunk as Pumba: No, it's not because he is a Lil big, okay? (Although that is part of Hunks beuty my beutiful cinnamon, badass roll of a son) I just think he fits Hunk more personality wise. As well because he is always with pidge which would lead for them to be with Lance "Kiara" all the time and you know, the trio. Plus, Pumba is also this sweet character that can totally kick but when he needs or wants to. *Rafiki as Coran: He gets Kovu and Kiara together. He is one of the main reasons They get together. Now imagine Coran doing that with "Keith" and "Lance", yes? It would be awesome. Not to mention Coran and Rafiki have some similarities in their character. *Zarkon as Scar: Yes, Zarkon is dead in this. And....yeah. He dead. But, he caused great trauma to Shiro "Simba", right? So in my opinion I think it fits. *Haggar as Zira: Hear me out! Okay? See, it fits, in my opinion, real well. She is a woman being strong for her own clan, and she wants revenge. She served/was together with Zarkon "Scar". Zarkon "Scar" dies and she wants revenge. So she trains Keith "Kovu" for the job. She....yeah. Haggar as Zira. *Vitani as Sendak: They look nothing alike, and their personalities....eh. But!!!! They are both loyal and want to do change for who they are working for, so in my opinion it's a good character matching thing. Er, yeah. And yeah, Vitani is a girl. But we can tweek stuff a bit, we can. *Nuka as Prorok: In Voltron, he is the Galra that tries to capture Voltron all by himself. He fails and becomes a robeast. This fits Nuka very well, since he is very loyal to His...mom? But fails to help and ends up dead. Prorok técnically dies when he becomes a robeast, and follows any orders Haggar gives after becoming one. Which I belive fits Nuka since he follows whatever is said to him even if he gets out of line by trying to help more. *Mufasa as Alfor: Alfor is dead, and Mufasa is dead. And yeah, he ain't Shiro’s dad, but like I said, this is an AU. Say, I think I would put as him saying things to Nala and Nala passing them on to Shiro. Or Alfor just getting along with Shiro very well cuz Shiro with Allura his daughter and Alfor belives Shiro awesome husband to Allura. Anyways! Long post, I KNOW. Sorry for that. I tend to write essays when it's only supposed to be a paragraph. All the time.😅 Okay, anywho! Um, what do you guys think? If you have any other ideas for them, write emm!
