Prompt 119
Another divine twitch chat Au? Another divine twitch chat Au. With a bit of a twist.
Billy would like to say it is in fact not his fault. It’s really not. Who hits someone with magic they obviously don’t know how to use? Well okay maybe he had done that before, but it’s not like he ever did it around other people where they could get hit!
But someone was an idiot and now he’s here, as his normal ten-year old self kicking his legs while sitting in the Watchtower as the others argued. Apparently the League thinks he’s been de-aged, which is good as his secret isn’t out.
The uh, issue is that something about the spell might have um, partially manifested the gods- or as he called them the Mediterranean Magic Men, if only because of how annoyed it made Zeus. Now everyone can see the chat that’s usually only visible to him and apparently it’s concerning.
He doesn’t see how it’s an issue, Zeus has been silenced for the next hour and Hercules has been dying of laughter for the last three. Oh, wait, it might be from Mercury’s constant attempted flirting with Flash.
…Or the fact they’re trying to convince him to commit a crime and he’s honestly down for doing so seeing as he’s a homeless ten year old who is down for getting clairvoyance and super speed for the next thirty minutes in exchange…

What brushes do you use?
i am sorry for the later reply i was out cold.
this is not gona be a satesfying reply though. i just use... one square shaped boy.
you can easely make this one in PS by opening a 500x500px file and you either fill it compleatly in with black, or make it a vary slightly wonky square. (don't think it matters but it gives it your own handtouch)
once you have you square you go to 'Edit' > 'Define Brush Preset' and you get the square boy in your brushes lybrary.
I am sorry I don't know how how to create your own brushes in other drawing softwares.
I usually use the brush size 8px, 10px or 15px. and this boy has never failed me once!
i sometimes try to make myself some other brushes to get a quicker workflow. but then i have to readjust the sizing and angles or i don't like how the shape looks and... i just stick to this one brush and call it a day.
i do change settings though!
Switching on Transfere + Opacity around or below 50% i make fur.
Add scatter effect + colour dynamics: i can like make quck freckles texture or in some cases like sand grain.
(if i lessen the distance between forms and the count on how many get scattered texture also works for stars, water droplets, atmospheric dust)
For details, or jewlery i like to make a seperate layer, adding an effect to it to get a "Contour Lineart".
i know this is barly (if even) a tutorial. so if there are more questions i would love to awser them. though i use photoshp (still). and i am just barly scratching and begining to learn and get comfortable with Clip Studio Paint. I will have to save my square boy and move it there but maybe i finally learn to use more then just one brush for once! and by the next time someone asks me "what brushes i use" i have an easyer time explaining because i just have to point at the CSP brush ones.

The doctrine of discovery is one of the core concepts used to justify colonialism, especially of the settler variety. This is what the Canadian Museum of Human Rights says about it:
The Doctrine of Discovery is a legal and religious concept that has been used for centuries to justify Christian colonial conquest. It advanced the idea that European peoples, culture and religion were superior to all others.
The doctrine of discovery comes from a series of declarations from the pope in the 1400s that suggested christianity and christian cultures were superior to all other religions and cultures, and basically said that christian europeans had the right to invade and claim land and resources from non-christian people, and also had the right to subjugate and convert those populations. It's literally at the very core of colonial history and the myth of white supremacy and christian supremacy.
When the pope was visiting Indigenous communities in canada last summer, more than an apology for the catholic church's role in residential schools, what people were asking for was the overturning of the doctrine of discovery. An apology is meaningless as long as that doctrine stands.
Today, the vatican formally rejected the doctrine of discovery. It's a symbolic gesture, sure. But it's still a sign that things are changing. Space was held for Indigenous voices, and the vatican of all places listened to them.
Obviously, there's still work to be done, and colonization didn't just suddenly end because of this announcement, but this is still huge news, and it feels like we're a tiny step closer to Land Back.

Why are people who look at comic books from a “critical real-world lens” so obsessed with identifying the one person who is “100% right”. That doesn’t even exist in the real world.
Lost Days wasn’t made to protest global issues. It is a comic book exploring fictional character Jason’s mental journey after being resurrected and regaining consciousness against his will and/or power. Now how dare this character, in his own story where he has his own personal objective, not go out of his way to make sure each individual child from the collective hundreds he saved from traffickers and the likes gets adopted into nice homes. Obviously we have to disregard any good he did or that he cares at all because all he did was kill the fucker at the top who was responsible. Winick also never fleshed out all 42 of the trafficked children into nuanced characters with their own thoughts and feelings which was apparently neglectful lol.
In regards to utrh, Idk what this person read but there were more drug dealers Jason didn’t kill than those he did. Not once did he ever say he wanted to eliminate the flow of drugs in the community. He took over the trade. Not to mention he explicitly stated control vs elimination is where his goals differed from Bruce’s pipe dream hence why he’s successful and Bruce is still failing. Obviously if you completely misunderstand the character’s motivations you’ll find issues that don’t exist.
People just don’t want stories to be about what they are about, huh.

“so then what? you want jews to have no place to go?”
regardless of any peoples’ “having a place to go”, it should NOT be coming at the expense of people already living there. any ties, religious or otherwise, shouldn’t ever mean you have the ability to kick REAL, LIVING, BREATHING PEOPLE, WITH FAMILY AND MEMORY AND CULTURE out of their ANCESTRAL HOMES in favour of settling somewhere you have never lived.
EVERY religion & culture should have access to their holy & historic places. liberation for palestinians & their land doesn’t mean a reverse in the roles of oppression. this is the coloniser’s fear; fear that the subjugated will call for revenge; an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. this fear justifies their genocide. genocide, for the “safety” of the oppressor.
the solution to the oppression of a people is not to expedite them to a land you’d like a convenient ally in. the solution is to create a world that isn’t so violently hostile it creates the need for a “homeland”.
a “homeland” that, no less, is hostile to an entire sector of the people it claims to be home for.
