Last Halloween ask! What is your favorite candy? Are you dressing up/doing something this weekend? I'm absolutely certain you're all througly sick of me and my bs, so this ask is just me saying thank you for indulging me and wish you a nice weekend and idk just tell me about anything you wish to talk about 😊

These have been so much fun, Sandra! I am sorry that I missed answering a few of them. I really enjoyed it!

My favorite candy used to be York Peppermint Patties or Junior Mints, and everything Reese's brand. I LOVE Smarties also (US brand, that is.)

Due to allergies, I'm no longer supposed to eat chocolate or peanut butter, so I enjoy root beer barrels (like the grandma I am inside) and peach gummy rings, and good white chocolate when I can find it!

I'm not doing anything too seasonal this weekend, but I will be watching some Halloween movies tonight! I think Sleepy Hollow and Clue!

Piano. She always loved to play Yesterday by The Beatles.

Freshly mown hay brings her flashbacks of when she'd ride on the tractor with her Daddy while he cut the hay for the cows and horses.

Writing songs and learning how to play guitar and whatever instrument that she could get her hands on.

Beth is rather shy and isn't one to initiate touch with anyone other than her family and those that she considers family. She loves her personal space so she won't encroach on other people's in case they need that personal space too.

23: How does your character react when someone else is touchy-feely?

She'd just accept it and hope and pray for it to be over soon if it was someone she was not okay with touching her.

27: How is their relationship with their biological family? Was there ever a relationship there?

Beth had a wonderful relationship with all of her biological family. Especially her Daddy, Mama, and Maggie.

38: Your character’s general opinion on kids. What if they were to have a kid? What if something happened and someone had a kid and your character was the only one who could take care of that child?

Beth adores kids. She'd have a hundred of them if she could. She would take in any child that needed a home and then some. Kids are extra special to her. She was born to be a mother.

it’s alright, I don’t actively seek it out but I sometimes have some at around halloween

Pretty good but it varies! I have a mild sensitivity to menthol so sometimes minty candy is Hell (I can’t eat most spearmint-flavored gums or mint tic tacs, for example), but mint chocolate chip ice cream is safe, as are Andes mints. I don’t think I could have junior mints or york peppermint patties, but it’s been a long time since I’ve tried those so maybe I’m misremembering.

What daily rituals do Kara and Nia have? Like, little things that they do every day for/with each other?

Nia’s an early riser.  She always wakes up before the alarm, and she just watches Kara sleep until the alarm goes off.  It’s her quiet time.  Her selfish time, when she gets to have Kara all to herself, without the world getting in the way, and it helps her make it through the bad days when Supergirl has it rough.

Kara makes breakfast, because aside from baking, Kara’s actually a good cook.  (The baking thing is a patience issue.  As in, Kara has none)  For Kara, it’s usually a mountain of pancakes, but Nia likes fruit in the morning, so Kara will throw together a fruit salad and some cheese, and oatmeal (although if Nia had a bad day the day before or the day’s off to a bad start, a can of apple pie filling finds its way into the oatmeal).

Nia makes the coffee, because again, patience.  Kara and French presses do not mix.

Nia showers first, because Kara’s water heater is tiny, and Kara doesn’t mind showering in cold water (unless her powers are blown) so it’s not a big deal if the hot water runs out half way through.  Nia always picks out Kara’s outfit while Kara is in the shower, and even before she’s managed to replace huge chucks of Kara’s wardrobe, she manages to work miracles with the material on hand.

The walk to work, and everyone can see they’re a couple.  Something about the way Kara’s hand is always resting protectively in the small of Nia’s back.

Before they leave, Kara always checks to make sure that day’s slot in the pill organizer is empty.  It’s not that Nia’s bad about it.  She has an alarm set on her phone to remind her, but a missed pill can through Nia’s balance off for days, and she’s miserable the whole time.  She also checks Nia’s purse to make sure Nia has enough chocolate (Andes are Nia’s favorites, followed by York Peppermint Patties and Junior Mints, and Kara’s desk is stocked with all three, plus Kara’s own supply of Dove and Ghiradelli squares)

They don’t always stop at the florist on the way to work, but the florist has a cart they out our front, and if there are yellow flowers, Kara will always stop and buy Nia one, because yellow is Nia’s favorite color.  (Sometimes, even if there’s nothing on the cart, a yellow rose will appear in Nia’s vase during the day).

The news stand is another stop.  Nia loves her fashion magazines.  Allure, Harper’s Bazaar, Instyle, Vogue, CatCo fashion.  Never Cosmo, she thinks it’s trash.  People, Time, Newsweek, The Advocate, Curve also get bought.  

They both work hard, so dinner’s usually picked up on the way home, but once they’ve eaten, they curl up on the couch, and Nia rests her head in Kara’s lap and Kara pets her hair as they talk or watch TV until it’s time to go to bed.

Saturday mornings Kara gets up and watches cartoons on netflix.  Nia lays next to her on the couch and reads.  Kara goes off to Supergirl a bit around lunchtime, which is when Nia goes and gets her weekly mani-pedi (since Kara can’t go with her for that until her powers are blown).

Saturday nights they take a nice long bath together.  Kara uses her heat vision a bit to keep the water warm.

Sundays are supposed to be chore days, but Kara always rushes through all of them in about 90 seconds, and Nia doesn’t really mind, even though she pretends to be grumpy about Superspeed in the apartment, but it means they get to spend more time together, just talking and enjoying each other’s company between Kara rushing off to hero.  Kara paints most of the day, while Nia sews, or sketches new designs (Nia dreamed of being a fashion designer, at one point, and she loves her designer clothes, but a lot of her clothes are things she designed and made herself).

I seem to be on a bit of a writing spree, so here’s some random ass headcannons lmao

*Ahk loves fried food.

*No one knows why, but he does

*But the one he loves the most is fried chicken

*He will consume an entire bucket of KFC /by himself/

*Dude has a serious appetite for a man without a stomach (lol)

*Someone brought a funnel cake to the museum once

*Ahk was blown away

*He was devastated to find out that the fair is damn near the only place to get one

*Becomes determined to learn to make them himself

*Ahk is also a fan of candy

*He loves candy w interesting flavors

*Like Junior mints, York peppermint patties, Atomic fireballs, Cookies and cream hershey bars..... That kind of thing

*He just loves candy in general

*But it makes him super hyper

*Then he crashes and sleeps for 5 hours

*Sometimes, the only way to make the stubborn ass take a nap, is to give him a bunch of candy and let him crash

*It may not be the most reputable way, but it’s sometimes the only way

What was the last health scare you had? Nothing major recently, but a couple months ago I found out I had a kidney stone and it sounded like I might have to have some kind of procedure or surgery to remove it because of the kind it was, but it turned out I didn’t need anything like that done at all.

What is your favorite food to cook? The only thing I cook is ramen.

Do you like sushi? No. 

Do you resemble your mom or your dad more? My mom.

Do you wear a bathrobe or do you use a towel? I just use a towel to quickly dry off and throw on my clothes.

Are you responsible? Yes and no. I’ve been slacking in a lot of ways these past few years with some things.

Do you listen to bluegrass music? No.

Is it snowing where you live today? It doesn’t snow here.

What color shirt are you wearing? Black.

What is your favorite color combination? I love pastel colors together. 

When was the last time you read a mystery novel? That’s all I’ve been reading for the past couple years and it’s been a lot. I’m currently reading one now.

What was the last novel you read about? I’m currently reading, “The Girl and the Black Christmas” by AJ Rivers. It’s book 11 in the series. The main character is Emma Griffin, an FBI Agent. Her boyfriend Sam, friends Eric, Bellamy, and Xavier, and cousin Dean are recurring characters. Anyway, she had a huge mystery to unfold that involved her and her family, lots of crazy twists and turns and secrets. It was crazy. Along with other crimes/mysteries along the way, a lot of which relate to her and that whole situation in some way. I’ve really been enjoying it.

Do you have a favorite mug? It’s a big blue and yellow one with Peter Pan and the gang on it.

If there is a tree right outside your window, what kind is it? I don’t know.

Do you have any health problems? Yes.

What is your favorite type of pants to wear? I’ve been living in leggings for the past few years now.

Have you ever been to a Wine and Canvas event? No.

Do you drink wine? Nope. I don’t drink any kind of alcohol.

What is your favorite filling for a piece of chocolate? I like the creamy brown sugar cream in a Bordeaux from See’s Candy, mint creme in an Andes, Junior Mints, or Peppermint Patty, and peanut butter. 

How are you planning to celebrate Easter this year? This year my family and I had a nice dinner and watched a movie. 

What do you want to be for Halloween next? Do you know? I don’t dress up anymore.

Have you ever used a prescription medication to get high? I didn’t take it for that, but it has happened. Sometimes still kinda does with my pain medication. For whatever reason, even though I take the same dose each time as prescribed, it will sometimes hit me different. Not my intended purpose, it just ends up happening.

Do you smoke pot? No.

Does sunlight make you happier? No.

Do you research things online? Yeah.

Where is the next place you will go? I don’t have plans to go anywhere until my next doctor appointment in a few weeks.

Do you live a boring life? I do.

Does your past bother you? I have a lot of regrets.

Is fear of death stopping you from living? No. It’s health stuff, especially my mental health. That more than anything has really put my life on pause the past few years.

Toasted Coconut - The beach or the pool?

Tbh, I love the aesthetic of the beach better, and there’s a lot more room to maneuver, but the pool is better for swimming, and there’s no sand to get in your swimsuit.
