Loving your new AU. Very well done...like a fine wine, hits all those high notes we love so much. Thank you.
Awww thank you so much! I've been surprised by the overwhelming response to it so far, but really glad lots of people are enjoying it.
For anyone not reading it yet, There Is A Light & It Never Goes Out is a Human AU featuring Crowley as a Lighthouse Keeper who has spent two decades putting a barrier up between himself and the outside world, and Aziraphale as a Professor who rocks up on his tiny Scottish island to escape from the life he hates.
Chapters being added weekly.

Best of 2023 Good Omens Fanfiction
This is my list of the 20 best Good Omens fanfiction works I've read in 2023.
A few notes:
These are all complete works; there are no WIPs in the list.
Please feel free to let me know if a link stops working
It's not an ordered list. That would be far too difficult.
You'll probably recognize some of the most popular ones. They're popular for a reason, after all, but I hope you find something you haven't yet read.
The majority are full-length works, but there are definitely some shorter pieces.
These are certainly not the only good works I've read, but they are the ones I'm most likely to read more than once
Click the Keep Reading to see the list
If you're the author of one of these, first off, thank you! But second, if you want me to add your tumblr name to your story, let me know, and I'll edit.
This first section, all the stories are canon-compliant or canon-adjacent. In other words, it's at least somewhat set in the Good Omens universe.
a lighthouse (burning) (108K; Rated M)
This one is canon-adjacent and set in the 19th century. Aziraphale goes to a lighthouse to figure out where all the lighthouse keepers disappeared to, and Crowley follows along. This one is a bit of a spooky mystery along with the romance, and the writing style is simply beautiful. You really get a sense of being trapped in this lighthouse in the middle of nowhere.
***
The Grindr Logo Doesn't Even Have a 'G' In It (79K; Rated E)
It's honestly hard to remember that this one isn't human AU, but they're still just as angelic/demonic as ever. Aziraphale joins Grindr and starts texting (and then sexting) with a charming young man. It's no secret to the reader who this new hookup is. This story is genuinely funny at times. I like the funny ones.
***
The Whole Damned World Seemed Upside Down (103K; Rated M)
This is one of the best reverse omens stories I've read that isn't technically a reverse omens. Crowley wishes things were different after leaving the bookshop, and the universe gives him his wish. He finds himself in a world where Aziraphale hates him, Death has trouble taking lives, and basically everything you knew about the world of Good Omens is upside down. It's very funny. It uses inline footnotes (which is good, because it has a LOT of footnotes), and Death is hilarious.
***
it's a new craze (5K; Rated T)
Another one that seems like it should be human AU but isn't. Crowley and Aziraphale start up a podcast after the Notpocalypse and gain a loyal fanbase who can't figure out if they're a couple or not. They often forget who their audience is and often reference events in their shared history that make no sense to the humans listening.
***
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a demon in possession of a mobile phone, must be in want of attention (6K; Rated G)
And yes, that is the entire title. Another funny short story where a couple of podcast hosts receive a call from a certain angel whose demon trapped himself in his phone and won't leave.
***
In Mixed Company, or the Corporate Retreat of Heaven and Hell (52K; Rated M)
I've read this one at least three times, and it's probably my favorite of all. Every 300 years, Heaven and Hell share a company retreat on Earth during which angels and demons surrender their celestial powers and hold retreats. It has a great new angel friend of Aziraphale's; Hellish Powerpoint presentations; Gabriel being annoyingly chipper; and Aziraphale and Crowley sneaking around like teenagers trying to find some alone time.
***
How To Woo A Demon (24K; Rated T)
Aziraphale researches demonic courtship rituals and starts implementing them in order to convince Crowley he wants to take their relationship to the next level. Crowley is very confused by Aziraphale's actions. Another cute, funny one.
***
Factory Settings (107K; Rated T)
This one is famous for coming out practically as S2 dropped, making people think whoever wrote it (the author is anonymous) had something to do with the production of the show.
This is the only one I'm going to say anything negative about. There are a lot of spelling errors and typos in it. It needs a hard editing pass. Despite that complaint, I devoured this story as fast as I could scroll. It's that good, and even knowing all the errors are there, I'll probably still re-read it. I'm usually pretty picky about errors like that, so for me to overlook it and even recommend it, means I really liked it.
Crowley gets reinstated as the angel, Raphael, with no memory of his time as Crowley, and Aziraphale struggles to return him to his demonic self. It's heart-breaking and wonderful and I absolutely loved it.
***
One Night In Bangor (And the World's Your Oyster) (17K: Rated E)
Much like In Mixed Company, Heaven and Hell come together for a corporate retreat on Earth. In this one, some totally random demon who's name definitely doesn't rhyme with Bowley created a wager in Hell to see which demon could bed an angel first.
Another funny one. This time, a lot of the humor comes from the demons doing their best to pick up the angels with really bad pickup lines.
***
We Only Said Goodbye with Words, I Died A Hundred Times (9K; Rated E)
If I could learn to write even half as good as this, I'd be ecstatic. The emotions the author packs into this story are mind-blowing.
Crowley receives a cursed amulet that creates an ever-increasing need for the person he wants the most and goes to see Aziraphale.
***
To reveal my heart in ink (29K; Rated E)
Aziraphale starts writing letters to Crowley by mail. The letters they exchange slowly get more and more explicit.
***
Pray For Us, Icarus (66K; Rated G/T)
The author wrote this one as a series, so each one varies in chapter count and rating, but they tell a single, contiguous story.
This was the first long-form GO fanfiction I read, and it was way too close to the ending of S2. I really should've waited a while, because holy cow, is this one heartbreaking.
For three hundred years, Crowley has been reincarnated over and over as a human with no memory of his past. Aziraphale has spent those three hundred years trying to restore him to his true self.
The author, Atalan, is probably one of the best writers on the site. This story is stunning in the quality of its writing, in the pacing of the story, and in the emotions evoked. I normally don't like being sad (like I said, I like the funny ones), but I've saved this story off to make sure I always have it.
***
Pretend For Me (53K; Rated E)
In a panic, Aziraphale tells the archangels that he survived hellfire due to his soul mixing with Crowley's because they're in a romantic and sexual relationship, but now they want them to prove it.
I'm a sucker for fake relationship stories, and there aren't a whole lot of them where the characters are still angel/demon, but this one is. It's another fun one, though a bit more angsty than some of those I listed above.
***
The following are all human AU. Good chance you'll recognize all or most of these.
Married At First Sight (147K; Rated T)
One of the most recently completed stories in the list, this is a fake relationship story where Aziraphale and Crowley join a reality show that marries complete strangers off to each other. Their new marriage starts off on a less than idyllic foot and they decide to fake it for the show. The author is a master of making you want to scream "for fuck's sake, just talk to each other, you walnuts!"
Probably one of my favorite fake relationship stories.
***
Postcards From Paris (12K; Rated G)
The author, ghostrat (@mrghostrat), is a fantastic writer of human AU, and it's worth going through his entire backlist (and read his current WIPs, too).
Crowley moves into his Mayfair flat and starts receiving postcards addressed to the previous tenant from one A.Z.F., who is in Europe hunting for bizarre bibles and rating wine. Sweet and fluffy and the perfect antidote if you've just been on an angst binge.
***
Or Be Nice (151K; Rated E)
I stayed up until 6:30 in the morning reading this one, crashed for three hours, then read until I finished it. Then that night, I started it again.
This is, without hesitation, my all-time favorite human AU. It's funny. I love the author's version of the characters, and I will probably end up reading it again in just a few months. I probably already would have if it wasn't for the length of my Mark For Later and Subscription lists.
Crowley and Aziraphale are neighbors who get into a noise war. They both have their reasons for their actions, though to be honest, Crowley is a bit of an ass at first. Once they really start talking, though, they are absolutely wonderful together.
Even if you've never read a human AU, I recommend at least giving this one a try.
***
What We Make Of It (Shotgun Wedding) (213K; Rated E)
This is the third charlottemadison work on this list. 15% of this list is just this one author. That's how good they are.
Aziraphale works as an English teacher. Crowley is the guardian for his nephew, Adam, and works for a school testing company. Crowley can't risk his job dating his nephew's gorgeous and charming teacher. Unless...
Crowley comes up with a crazy plan. Now he just has to convince Aziraphale to go along with it.
Again, another very popular human AU. One thing I love about this story is how there's a lot less angst between the two characters, and how they both really care for Adam.
***
Slow Show (95K; Rated E)
The very first human AU I read. Didn't even think I'd like that specific genre until I read it. Now, as you can see, it's about half of my reading list.
This is an actor AU. Aziraphale (named Avery here) and Crowley are actors working together on a new show. Avery is an award-winning, straight-laced, well-respected actor; Crowley is a mess who immediately falls head-over-heels for him and somehow has to get through the show without letting his (apparently straight) costar realize that.
***
South Downs (76K; Rated E)
Another actor AU. This time, Aziraphale is an openly-gay actor, well-respected for his period drama work. Crowley is a once-blackballed actor who jumps at the chance to star in a gay Regency romance with Aziraphale in the hopes it can restart his career. The trouble is, Crowley is struggling to play the romantic lead opposite a man.
I love the growing friendship between these two as much as the romance. I love how comfortable and confident Aziraphale is here; and how caring he is toward Crowley's growing awareness of his sexuality.
***
This one doesn't really fit either category, so I'm putting it here.
The Rose and the Serpent (56K; Rated M)
By the same author as Pray For Us, Icarus comes a GO retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Aziraphale is sent off by his older brother, Gabriel, into the forest to be held hostage by a giant snake in a cursed castle. Turns out, neither the snake nor the castle are what he was expecting.
Light-hearted and with very memorable characters, the relationship between Crowley and Aziraphale is simply stunning. I love how Newt and Anathema are used here. The quality of this one is as good as Icarus, and I loved this one so much I could easily have read 300K more words.
***
And bonus: mine!
The Beginning of the End (Again) (79K; Rated M)
The first fanfiction I've ever written and the first book I've written in a decade. I had the first two chapters in mind after finishing S2, and the story grew from there. I actually have a sequel in mind after I finish another, separate fake relationship story.
Crowley spends months drowning his sorrows after Aziraphale accepts the Supreme Archangel position, until a group of demons shows up one day and tells him the Second Coming is nearly upon them, and they want him to stop it. Turns out being a demon isn't much fun if there are no humans left to tempt.
Aziraphale has spent these last months in Heaven looking for ways to stop the Second Coming while mourning the way he and Crowley left things. After discovering that Hell's minions have been tasked by the Metatron to escort the son of God on a tour of Earth in preparation for his Second Coming, he hurries down to see what's going on, fearing the worst.
Instead he discovers Crowley escorting the Messiah around Earth. Is his demon taking the son of God on dates?

What are your top picks for your favorite Good Omens fanfics? 👀
-AnnTickwittee
Oh my dear AnnTickwittee, THANK YOU for this ask. There are a bunch of great ones out there but here are some I've loved recently! Also, everyone PLEASE feel free to leave more recs in comments or reblogs or tags! I LOVE a good fic!
Weirdly, most of my faves were written before S2 premiered - PLEASE recommend me some good S2 stuff, and ones you'd consider staples in the GO fandom - I've missed out on a LOT of great content - help me find it/catch up! (Note: All fics listed below are COMPLETE and feature happy endings.)
---
1. The Rose and the Serpent by @brightwanderer | Rating: M | Status: Complete | Chapters: 12 | Word Count: 55,795 | Published: 2020-05-31 | Completed: 2020-08-15
Summary: AU, retelling of “Beauty and the Beast”. Quite honestly, sending Aziraphale off into the forest to be held hostage by a giant snake in a cursed castle isn’t even the worst thing Gabriel’s ever done to him, and at least it means a change of scene. But then neither the snake nor the castle turn out to be quite what he’s expecting…
My Review: Fave fave FAVE at the moment! I discovered this one from this tiktok, fully thinking it was going to be a silly little romp and was instead met with beautiful prose, adorable banter, and moments that literally made me go "AWW" out loud (which I NEVER do). I meant to read a few chapters per night before bed and then accidentally read the whole thing in one go. I stayed up until 4am reading and then woke up 4 hours later STILL thinking about it. Aziraphale is the perfect lead in this one, with Crowley as the wily yet lovable snake that lives in a cursed/enchanted castle with some familiar faces. CLASSIC pining ensues. The author does a great job of world building and character development and I find myself wishing I could read it again with fresh eyes. It's beautiful and adorable and I can't recommend it enough. Favorite quote: "'I love him,' he said. 'Let me in.' And the gates swung open before him."
---
2. a lighthouse (burning) by @books-and-omens | Rating: M | Status: Complete | Chapters: 12 | Word Count: 108,477 | Published: 2022-03-26 | Completed: 2023-06-13
Summary: In good weather, one can see the lighthouse at the Rock from the shore: a dot on the horizon, a distant star flashing red and white and red again. It’s been dark for a fortnight, of course—ever since the incident that every newspaper had breathlessly written about, that the paper-boys on the corners had shouted themselves hoarse over. This is where Aziraphale is headed: it is his duty, after all, to find out what happened, to make sure that the beacon can be safely lit once again. He does not expect Crowley to follow him to the windswept isle, to the lonely lighthouse at what could just as well be the edge of the world. Crowley follows him anyway.
My Review: THIS ONE! This one is a good old fashioned mystery! The humans believe this lighthouse is haunted, especially since its last three keepers vanished without a trace, but Aziraphale and Crowley know that can't possibly be the case. As such, they decide to investigate for themselves. It's an adorable slow burn period piece that had me weeping at certain points with twists and turns abound, and I really liked how the author handled the mystery and lore! Deep lore is tough to do convincingly and I found myself believing everything the author said. I can't tell you how thrilled I was when I KIND OF clocked what the author was going for with their mystery. Their explanation for everything was far better than anything my monkey brain could have come up with. Also that S2 ep of OFMD that featured a lighthouse in the beginning came out after I read this fic and I got all giddy thinking about Aziracrow here. I literally don't think I'll ever see a lighthouse again and not think of this gorgeous fic. EDIT: Also, here's a YouTube video that appeared in my recommended shortly after I read this. It's super interesting that disappearances like this have happened in real life 😱
---
3. If We've Got Nothing (We've Got Us) by @kedreeva | Rating: G | Status: Complete | Chapters: 4 | Word Count: 19,897 | Published: 2019-06-17 | Completed: 2020-03-02
Summary: Two months after the failed apocalypse Aziraphale finds the first dark feather growing in his wings. A story about middle grounds, ineffable plans, and what happens when the world doesn't end.
My Review: Another fic I found on Tiktok. The edit itself was so gorgeous I decided to give it a go and was not disappointed. It was written before S2 was even announced so it takes some liberties with fanon (Crowley was Raphael in the canon of this world, etc), but it's a lovely, relatively quick read. Crowley and Aziraphale are on their own side, finally, and soon, others join their ranks. All while God watches from afar. The prose is beautiful and I come back to the tiktok all the time (I saved it onto my phone lol). It was also fun to go back and rewatch the tiktok after reading and realize that the editor stitched together parts from each chapter into something new and amazing. It's not a romantic fic, not in the way the others are; it cares more about the aftermath of an apocalypse and shades of gray and how the universe came to be in the first place. I love the POV of God reminiscing on creation and thought it was very well written. Absolutely loved this one! (@anntickwittee, this was the fic I was referring to in the tags of this post, which is probably what prompted you to leave this ask in the first place! 😊)
---
4. All That's Best of Dark and Bright by @hope-inthedark | Rating: T | Status: Complete | Chapters: 1 | Word Count: 5,648 | Published: 2020-06-22
Summary: When Crowley drops a bomb on a church, Aziraphale falls in love with him. This should be a secret, but unfortunately, Aziraphale's never been much good at keeping them.
My Review: A one-shot expanding on the 1941 minisode (2019) BEFORE the S2 minisode canonically expanded on it. Recap: Aziraphale's just realized he's in love with Crowley (thank you Michael Sheen for that AMAZING acting choice) and this fic is the author's interpretation of what might have happened after the show cut away from the burning church. I was floored by how many parallels made it from this fic into the actual show both directly and indirectly (Aziraphale says "Not as such" at one point and I'm pretty sure I burst into tears and/or yelped loudly). It's got a good bit of angst to it, the same kind from S2 that makes you scream "WHAT ARE YOU DOING! HE'S RIGHT THERE!" with a happy ending that helped heal my shattered heart. I definitely cried reading this one (affectionate). It's extremely fluffy at the end which EYE LOVE, so if that's your thing, I highly recommend! Favorite Quote: "'I’m afraid I’m quite terribly in love with you,' Aziraphale said unceremoniously. Crowley, who had been in the process of sitting up, promptly fell off the sofa."
---
5. the two shepherds of uruk by lupinely | Rating: E | Status: Complete | Chapters: 1 | Word Count: 24,963 | Published: 2023-10-09
Summary: After Aziraphale goes back to Heaven with the Metatron, Crowley reflects. And 4,400 years ago in 2407 BC, in the city of Uruk in ancient Sumer, he and Aziraphale fall in love with humanity, and each other. - “What are you doing here?” asked Aziraphale. Crowley lifted an eyebrow and felt himself start to smile. “I should ask you the same. What are you thinking, coming here with your wings out and the blessed light of Heaven raining down upon you? You’re scaring the mortals.” Aziraphale blushed. Crowley dutifully looked away. It felt disrespectful not to.
My Review: This one-shot is a love letter to history and humanity. I think I found it on twitter? Unfortunately I don't have a link to the tweet or the author's tumblr. What I really love about this one is that the author adds footnotes like the original Good Omens book does. You can absolutely feel the love and care that went into writing and researching for this particular fic, which I can really appreciate as a fellow writer. (For all my Bildad the Shuhite stans out there, this story takes place after, but the vibes are VERY SIMILAR. If you even care.) Crowley and Aziraphale are in Uruk to keep an eye on the humans as they try to build a structure tall enough to reach God (the Tower of Babel). Theoretically, they can both return to their respective sides, but opt to stay on earth (with each other) for 10 years to watch the construction unfold. Pining ensues, NSFW ensues, and as the author puts it, "now featuring Aziraphale as a little country girl tending her sheep ♥" I highly recommend if you want to be sucked into another time period/biblical story and feel MANY different feelings (with a happy ending!)
---
I have more bookmarked that I could absolutely recommend if anyone is interested, but these 5 are just the ones that have stuck out to me the most recently!! Believe me, I could go ON, but this post is long enough for now.
If you DO read any of these, please chat with me about them, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Happy reading!

hum!Aziraphale, mermaid!Crowley
🌑 lighthouses are designed to show the way to ships lost in the seas, but in the vast expanses of the raging waters, sailors are far from the only ones who are attracted by their light 🌑
Tumblr media
× × ×
Aziraphale liked this kind of activity. not to say that the work is very simple, but it is not dusty either. there was something about spending your weekdays on a stately high lighthouse, breathing in the sea air with a full chest, and in your free time reading old books in a cozy, warm room with the sound of waves hitting rocks coming from outside. as a keeper, he was finishing a very successful sixth week.
the days at this job were calm and pleasant, but still Aziraphale adored the nights many times more. they were beautiful: the calmness of the sea, the calm surface of the water, the star-studded black sky and the light of his lighthouse rushing into the distance. he could spend all the late hours on the upper landing, admiring the moon and its reflection in the small soft waves, watching how the bright light of the lantern he lit bounced on the water with reflected reflections. the view was mesmerizing.
and every night, floating out of the dark depths, a pair of venomous yellow eyes, which he did not know about, watched him with mesmerizing. all the time Aziraphale was standing by the lantern, the apples completely drenched in gold did not hide under the eyelids for a second, and after that, when he left, their owner continued to hide under the water column again and again, waving his powerful fins over the sea with a splash. there was something about admiring the new caretaker from night to night, looking at the white slightly curly short strands trembling on the wind, dreaming that one day he would lower his gaze and finally notice him.
to want to take with him.
and very soon it will be possible. A storm would come here in a couple of days, and that night he would finally be able to show him that the sea stars were just as beautiful as the ones he loved to watch from the lighthouse.

hello! thanks for all the work you do. i was wondering if there are any good mermaid AUs out there? maybe with one of them being a mermaid and the other a human? a long-ish word count would be great. thanks!
Hello! We've recced some before so please check our #merfolk tag
Some more newer ones:
Strange Tides by Caedmon [G]
Aziraphale has been keeping the lighthouse at Eastgate Harbour for many years, since the Great War, and he's been content with his life - solitary though it may be. But when a storm blows up and knocks him into the sea, he's sure he's drowning... until he's rescued by a mysterious creature who seems to know him.
Fathoms Below by sensitivesiren [E], WIP
"Crowley closes his eyes and begins to sing. He starts out low, weaving his intent into the melody, pulling from deep within the ancient well of finfolk power until he can feel the Trance take hold. The overtones of his voice drip with venom, slithering up the sides of the ship and searching for that which it can constrict and devour. His temptation wraps itself tightly around the sailors above, poisoning their minds, promising them what they desire most. The call beckons them into the dark water, whispering in their ears that all of their dreams will come true if they only let go and follow him into the deep."
What lurks beneath the deep (is a friend) by AnnaTheHank [T], WIP
Naturalist Aziraphale is excited about his new home. All the way on the other side of the sea he'll find more new things to research than he can count! But his most exciting discovery comes in the form of a mermaid, and one who might just hold the secrets to a grand treasure.
But Half a Fish by MelayneSeahawk [E], WIP
Aziraphale is the lighthouse keeper for a small town, when a mysterious stranger arrives

[Photographs of the scene Crowley's walked in to depict an area that's been empty and dead for far longer than the few months these people should have been gone.
The interiors of the lighthouse, the keeper's shack, the cobbled together houses of scrap and debris are all coated in a thick layer of dust where wind and weather haven't breached far enough to scatter it.
Crude, shallow graves occupy rocky soil alongside makeshift tools that suggest an attempt at growing food and storing water.
A final shot depicts the interior of the lighthouse's tower, lined with rows upon rows of tallies and names and notes. "Ruth M. passed." "Micheal L. died." "Cassidy H. born." "Cassidy H. died." A calendar of names and dates of people who had been trapped for months and years in a sea of red-brown weed.
It all culminates in a dying man's scrawl alongside skeletal remains: "We were here."]

3/18 Monday 14°, wind chill 3° Skeet Ulrich 185
6:45 AM
But it’s supposed to be warmer today than it was yesterday. But again, it’s also supposed to be windy, so we probably won’t notice it.
I got my CoreCon-tract (ha) on Saturday, and got it all ready to mail yesterday. The table is $100 this year, so I’d better do well. Not that it’s entirely up to me. Greg said he’d be willing to spend time at my table and be my drummer, but WSS. I need to take in at least $200 to feel like it’s worthwhile.
The giveaway’s at 420. I’m planning to do more promos on Thursday and Sunday, and then not til the next Saturday. Ten days, one week, and one day.
Anyway, now that Con feels more like a reality again, I’m tempted to just spend all my working time on Dreams until I finish. I don’t think I will though. Maybe if it’s not done by the end of this month. I’m hoping it will be, but WSS because Shit Happens.
Breakfast: Oat Crunch cereal (a generic version of Life; not bad) w/blueberries, string cheese, Frigg tea
Listening to: “Rocket Man” by Elton John
Lunch: carrot sticks w/ranch, strawberry banana cottage cheese, light rye bread w/summer sausage, coconut ice cream bar
Listening to: The Atlas Obscura Podcast: “The Lighthouse Keeper”
Supper: sausage & spinach slow-cooker quiche
Watched: Sweet Tooth: “Chicken Or Egg?”

I made a bracelet today, and ordered some cheap chains for pendants, and also four more snake charms so I can make two more pairs of Crowley earrings. I’m going to keep the original pair and sell the other two.
I had PT this afternoon as well. It always seems to fly by somehow. I get massage, then exercises, then all of a sudden she’s saying, “Okay, finish that and then I’ll let you go.” And I’m thinking, wait a minute, haven’t I only been here for about 15 minutes? But it’s been half an hour.

Hello! This is not an ask - I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful lighthouse human au fic. My kudos on ao3 are anonymous so I wanted to thank you with my name and face (or quarter of it) here on tumblr. I'm really enjoying the whole setting of the fic (I'm a bird watcher), and your writing is so good. Thank you! 😍
Thank you so much for this! Every kudos and comment go straight to my heart ❤️
I have also been bird watching since I was a kid, so it's been a little bit of self indulgence to find a way to put it into my writing. I have, however, regrettably never seen puffins irl, BUT I have just been granted a bucket list wish to go and see them with someone who works for the RSPB at Bempton Cliffs in May, so I am beside myself with excitement over that. I will be thinking of Aziraphale and Crowley whilst I am there I am sure!
Thanks again for your lovely comments about There Is A Light, it means so much to me that it's become so beloved so quickly in the fandom.
For anybody not following it yet, There Is A Light & It Never Goes Out is a Good Omens Human AU, soft and sweet, with Crowley as a lighthouse keeper who has spent twenty years isolating himself from the rest of the world, and Aziraphale, a Professor running away from his life in London who finds himself on Crowley's remote Scottish island whilst studying the puffins that live there.
Chapter Eight has just been added 🙏💙

Tag meme, tagged by @impishnature! It’s been a million years since I’ve done a tag meme thank you!
Three ships: Aziraphale/Crowley is my main number one always and obviously! But I’ve been enjoying the heck out of Stede/Blackbeard from OFMD lately, and have had a resurgence of love if Timothy/Rhys from Borderlands since I’ve been replaying the games (thanks to you, Imp, aha!)
First ever ship: Hmmm, I think probably Shinichi Kudo/Kaitou KID from Detective Conan? Or maybe something from Naruto?
Last Song: Cursing the Ohio by Matt King - it’s been stuck in my head since it came up on my Pandora earlier yesterday.
Last Movie: Palm Springs - it was a friend’s turn to pick on movie night. Not one I would have picked to watch on my own, but it was fun!
Currently reading: So much fic, as always!
But two that I read recently that I really enjoyed were: In Care of the Dark by PinkPenguinParade (some lovely gomens hurt/comfort!) and Wonderful Indulgences by Beenovabell (lighthouse keeper!Stede because I am a simple creature and I love seeing my faves as lighthouse keepers)!
Currently watching: I don’t really watch much TV. I watched OFMD and that was probably the most recent, but otherwise I just tend to watch youtubers or listen to podcasts while I’m doing stuff at my computer throughout the day. Right now I’m watching Gab Smolders playing Nancy Drew games.
Currently consuming: Looks at Nos can. Looks at the clock reading 10pm. Says nothing.
Currently craving: Something sweet and fruity! I think I’ll go snag some strawberries here in a bit! I’m just going to tag some folks but please don’t feel obligated! :) Also if you’d like to do this, feel free to say I tagged you! @aziraphalelookedwretched @hotcrosspigeon @strampunch @eregyrn-falls @zehwulf @entanglednow

Your Lighthouse Keeper
Crowley stood at the top of the stairs in front of the cottage, thin fingers wrapped around a mug of dark coffee that spilled white curls of steam into the pale morning light. He was looking out at the grey seawater, the breeze that blew up over the cliffs buffeting his red hair.
Behind him, Ezra leaned against the white-painted doorframe of their small cottage. He watched Crowley silently, content to watch the sun catch gold in his husband’s hair. A blast of cold air rushed past Crowley and swirled into the cottage, brushing Ezra as it passed. Ezra shivered, tugging the open sides of his coat closed and doing up the buttons.
Crowley turned to look at him then, his amber-colored eyes soft. “Hello, angel.”

Hello there, dear mods. I happen to be looking for some fics where Aziraphael and Crowley raise Adam together. Either that or they have their own child (not necessarily looking for mpreg here, they're an angel and a demon, idk maybe the almighty gave them a child? But I won't complain if you throw some mpreg there either)
Hi! At this point we have about as many #kid fics as there are on ao3, so go wild looking through our tag. Here are more to add to the apparently never-ending collection!...
Instructions Unclear; Seeking Divine Intervention by Alycat44 (T)
“The spare,” the nun says, passing the basket Crowley brought back to him.
“The what.”
Crowley wouldn’t get his answer, and left holding a basket with an infant he is fully unequipped for dealing with, he does the only sensible thing he could think of; he calls a nominally-friendly acquaintance for some help.
BlyBlythe by Dannye Chase (G)
Lonely lighthouse keeper Aziraphale Fell becomes father to a lost baby mermaid and falls in love with a pirate. Whoever said the lighthouse service was boring? The baby liked to play in the bay most of the day. They caught fish, which Aziraphale cooked for them both. The baby was a surprisingly fast crawler on land, using their arms and wiggling their tail. They liked to be chased. The first time Aziraphale ever heard the baby laugh was when he was jogging after them as they crawled across the lawn. It was a bubbly, cheerful sound that nearly melted Aziraphale’s heart. Aziraphale knew he could not keep thinking of them as “the baby.” A name was needed. "Pearl" seemed too obvious, as did "Stormy." That day on the lawn, hearing the baby laugh, Aziraphale picked the name "Blythe," which meant happy. Certainly, he himself had never been happier.
This Good News by kijikun (M)
Crowley and Aziraphale have received a very special delivery.
Omens of a Bright and Peculiar Future by AgentStannerShipper (T)
When angels were created, they were programmed with a sort of reproductive delay, intended to be used after the war. Aziraphale chose to remain on Earth, rather than return to Heaven, with the assistance of Crowley, his longtime-friend-turned-lover. Now both have to live with the repercussions of that decision.
They can't say they're unhappy about it.
Growing Up Ineffable by foolish__wit (T)
When a demon and an angel love each other very much they consult their witch friend to look into some more... magical options.
Unconventional love calls for unconventional conception. Ten years post the Armageddon that wasn't as well as two years of marital bliss have seen a certain angel and demon wanting to take the next step in their relationship, having children of their very own. But, this is an occult and ethereal being we're talking about, so everything relating to their little bundle of joy is a tad unusual.
Fledging by FeralTuxedo (M)
Cool Dad was at the school gate again. Clambering out of his ridiculous sports car like a great big spider, all black denim and designer sunglasses. What a prat. He made his way towards the entrance, followed by his equally lanky son. All the mums' eyes were on him. Which was fine. At least they weren't staring at Aziraphale for a change. Cool Dad high-fived his son goodbye, because of course he did, then sauntered back to his car. Making it look so bloody easy.
Aziraphale Fell is much too young to be looking after eleven-year old Pepper. He barely has his life together as it is, with his minimum-wage job and a half-baked dream of trading rare books for a living. And as if adopting a recently bereaved pre-teen isn’t enough, there are some rather more adult problems to navigate: playground politics, the shadows of his own childhood, and the growing question of how Crowley, the only other dad at the school gate, feels about him.
A human AU/kid fic.

Alright. So. Here's what we're looking at.
[A collection of photos are posted of Crowley's trek across the Sargasso, much of it obscured by a dense, hanging fog. The waters are glassy still, broken up only by patches of weed and stone and debris from skeletal wrecks that pierce the surface or hang from jagged rock outcrops.
Occasionally a dark shape can be made out through leaf and mist - but seemingly nothing that was bold enough to approach.]
Listen, sweetling. Do you hear? The seagulls are silent. These are the waters that not even the seagulls speak of aloud. It’s name is passed in whispers and wingbeats, always around and never through, by crooning mothers to their chicks, of carrionflesh that crawls and eats its eater. The unbeating heart of the Sargasso Sea.
[The final set of photos is of the lighthouse Crowley finally arrived at. Situated on the cliffs of an island that looked like it was torn straight from some unknown coast, the lighthouse is battered and old, neglected for long enough that a tree has grown up and through parts of its walls, cradling and supporting it.
(A faint golden light shines through the branches for those that can perceive, accompanied by the phantom buzzing of insects and hum of machinery.)
A lighthouse keeper's house stands nearby in similar condition - not upkept, but entirely usable. A few photos from what is likely Crowley's return trip today show the house's interior, equally old and unused for some time with a clutter that implies someone had used it until abruptly cut off.]
Sargasso Sea, lighthouse, and lighthouse keeper's dwelling
The keeper's house's lock had rotted enough that it broke fairly easily - I'm in the process of replacing it and moving some supplies out here as a base of operations. The Agarthan branch does seem to be stabilizing the island and surrounding area, and I have been able to successfully get communications set up from here.
The lighthouse on the other hand...
