The tree monster - trevenant - is settling in well. Mostly in the front yard, but. As long as they’re comfortable.
Anodyne was showing them how to open the doors, so I suppose they can let themselves in if they’re ever too cold out there.
We’re calling them Acer, after the genus for maple trees.

Good morning. It's been a while. I hope everyone is well.
Crowley shooed me out of the kitchen a while ago to make breakfast. She's decided it's my day off apparently. I can hear her singing in there.
Her cat's keeping me company while we wait.

I can't believe people would slander ocean sunfish for having a lot of parasites. Uh, hello?? Every animal in nature has parasites dipshit, it came free with living in an ecosystem

The best part of this being an anon effect I've had before is my employers not needing to do anything weird to me about it this time.

This is your periodic reminder to tell your loved ones that they are beautiful and wonderful and unspeakably ominous, and that you love them very much for every part of themselves.

I think I offended them by being too hard to stab effectively…

@bitterbelphie: whatever it is you're thinking, drop updates when you do it.
[A picture is posted of a ceiling-mounted flatscreen tv in a large empty space. The platonic ideal of a stringy haired ghost girl is perched on the edge of the screen, hissing like a cat stuck up a tree.
Help her, she cannot get down and commit violence.]

God, someone I was sent to hunt down turned our fight into a vent session about her failing marriage and falling out of love with her husband. It was one of the most uncomfortable situations I've ever been in.

I am pleased to report that we have discovered a tree in the forest.
[A picture is attached of said tree - a trevenant - enjoying some quality time under the sun lamp with its roots burrowed into a nest of blankets. Its leaves show extensive frost damage, but for now, it seems content.]
And I got my jacket back!

Anon(s). Nobody's feelings will be hurt if you just stop looking at Nata's blog. I promise.
Go look at a blog you like; I'm sure there are plenty. You'll be happier that way.

It's probably about time for the periodic reminder that the people I'm working for would be the villains of many other stories, and that I personally have a kill count in the four digit range. Maybe more depending on how wide a net you want to cast on who or what counts as a person.
Many of them have been enemy combatants, but not certainly not all of them.
I want to be clear and fair on this. My hands aren't clean, and I don't want to mislead anyone into thinking I'm something better than what I am. My employers allow me a lot of freedom to act as I choose, on- and off-duty, so long as it doesn't reflect poorly on the company, and I am happy to be able to help out where I can.
But that doesn't change the reality of what I am and what I do, and it is only fair that people be allowed to make their assessments with the full information available. Do with it what you will.

I. Could in theory draw up the paperwork for freelance work, as well. If that would be something of interest.
My employers pay free agents well for their service, but it'd mean making people more aware of you than they already are.

Well.
There’s definitely something new living in the woods past my house. I… ended up tracking it down last night. Sort of. Maybe it more called me to itself.
Still. Nothing overly bad happened beyond losing my jacket and spending a night out in the woods.
It isn’t calling as much as it was last night. Whatever curse it inflicted is still there though.
Siege and I are going to try tracking it down tomorrow. Just. In case I end up losing it a bit again I’ll have somebody to kick me back on track, haha…!

[A photo is posted of a murky sunrise over a misty, weed-choked sea. The tops of tattered sails are just barely visible in the distance, poking through the haze of fog. It seems peaceful for the moment, if somewhat haunting.]
Good morning, everyone.
Back to work.
