ricky and cesar (m/m NYC couple): are killing it and finally got that first place finish! they got a lead on the stairs - physical ability is not everything on this race, but it is important. interestingly, on the stairs there was a shot of cesar carrying both their bags, and on the way down on the coffee farm there was a shot of ricky carrying both bags. latter might be getting cesar to starting the roadblock asap, but I am curious if cesar is actually faster than ricky and not just the more type-A racer. (you usually only see one teammate carrying another's bag in mother-son or m-f pairs, both examples we saw this ep)

yvonne and melissa (f/f San Diego couple): either they killed phil's dog or are going to go home from COVID in a couple of episodes because they are egregiously underedited in these 90 minute episodes - this is not just jaggedwolf's disproportionate interest in the girlfriends, okay, other TAR watchers mention they keep forgetting they exist. It had been three years of sneaking off when no one was watching, stolen kisses, lingering touches and looks that have spoken more than their lips ever did, the pair never intended to find solace in one other yet from the moment she joined the club as their photographer, he was hooked on the way she viewed the world, her bubbling personality, vast knowledge over the world and unique features that can draw any man in, he was obsessed with her the same way she was madly in love with him.

The only issue was, the fear of the unknown.

He was the star defender of the team, and she was the photographer - there’s a lot on the line there hence why a year into their relationship, they’d both agreed to remain friends in front of the world whilst they continued to strengthen their love when no one was watching.

She pulls back, resting her forehead on top of his. " I know baby, it’s killing me as well but we have to be patient, I know it’s hurting us " she murmured, she wasn’t hurt at the fact that people viewed them as friends, they had managed to create a harmonious line between their lives in public and lives behind the scenes.

Unbeknownst to either of them, they had the attention of four of the Real Madrid players, specifically Marcelo, Luka, Lucas and Nacho, the foursome were quite suspicious of the way Sergio treated the photographer, sure he was friendly with anyone yet they couldn’t deny that there was more to it.

And on one morning, while the team was scheduled for a photoshoot, Luka caught Sergio staring at her then said. " What are you doing? "

Marcelo chuckles, " 1000 euros "

Luka laughs, " let’s wait until the flight for Lisbon, maybe something can happen "

And true to his word, two weeks later – the team was on their way to Lisbon to face Porto for the Champions League group stage, and while most of the team were asleep, the foursome were definitely not, as they’ve tried to make it seem like they were asleep while they kept their eyes on Sergio who at the right time had snuck off to where she was seated.

A few minutes of silence, and they hear soft whispers followed by laughter, causing them to peek their heads behind, their eyes widening in shock.

" Holy shit " They whisper in unison, their eyes widening further when Sergio leaned in to kiss her.

Suddenly, Nacho turns on the small light which captured their attention, like two children that had been caught doing something naughty, she cowers away, hiding in his embrace while Sergio sends them a glare.

" You owe us 1000 euros each hermano " Luka laughs.

Today had been a chaotic one. Phoebe couldn't remember ever being this rushed off her feet at the museum, at some point feeling like she was running in circles, to and fro from the Archives to Aslihan's office, to various parts of the Egyptian wing, finally being able to head home and collapse. She was soon joined by Foster, who had a long day of his own, them both deciding to end the night by just taking things slow, to just relax together more than anything else.

They were an entanglement of limbs in Phoebe's sheets, in no rush to take things further in that moment, kissing slow, hands lesiurely exploring each other as if it were all brand new. After both having their own hectic days, it was just nice to be in the moment, unhurried and in their own world.

The sudden ringing of Phoebe's phone — the ringer turned on so she didn't miss any calls today and forgetting to turn it back off — breaking the calm silence made her jump, letting out a startled giggle against Foster's ear. "Sorry." She murmured, wiggling out from under him so she could reach the nightstand her phone lay on, to just double check it wasn't Aslihan with an important work matter.

Her phone screen boasted an old selfie of her and Sebastian from a few years ago, glassy eyed and drunk pulling faces into the camera. Sebby himself, the name followed by the dancing man emoji, tried to call her. Probably an accident, she figured, placing it back down and back to Foster, the phone silencing a moment after.

"Just Seb." She explained, leaning in and capturing Foster's mouth with her own, letting out a soft groan of frustration when the phone rang again, knowing without looking that it was her friend calling again. "Tell me why I'm friends with the world's most annoying person ever." She mumbled against Foster's lips, determined to ignore whatever favor most-likely-drunken Seb was begging Phoebe to do for him. He'd bother someone else soon enough.

It’s interesting that the Dofalmingo Family provides the best and the worst examples of the Celestial Dragons/World Nobles. And that their unique personality traits mostly comes from their interaction with the world outside of Mariejois. Doflamingo is a no-brainer, he’s obviously a wrong’un, and he was initially corrupted by the society of Mariejois, but his descent into sociopathy truly began when he was granted something that the World Nobles only had when their authority was recognised: power. Real physical, hard power, and not from the recognition granted by the World Government. I actually think that he wanted to destroy the World Government, and that part of his motivation is not just that he wouldn’t be accepted among the World Nobles: Doflamingo is a true elitist in the sense that he would only recognise power from the strong dictating the affairs of the world. He sees his former kinsmen as a weak, indolent class who are only granted their power and lesiure through the authority of the World Government. Thanks to his upbringing among gangsters, Doflamingo follows a Social Darwinist philosophy where the destiny of the ‘natural elite’ is to rule the world - which of course includes himself, but also pirates like Kaido, Shanks, Crocodile, and so on. I think that his seemingly contradictory wish to become Pirate King, actually falls perfectly in line with this philosophy.

Then there’s Roshinante, who experienced the same hardships as his older brother, but had a sensitive disposition, and was adopted by the Marine officer Sengoku. Decent to a fault, and wants to uphold the world order and values that Doflamingo rejects. But his relationship with Law was very interesting. While Doflamingo was bound to antagonise someone from the D. clan based who they are, Roshinante - a former Celestial Dragon embraced Law despite his status, and became a surrogate parent to him,. producing the unlikeliest form of love.

Donquixote Mjosgard was a typical Celestial Dragon who was met with a similar situation to Doflamingo and Roshinante, but the mercy he received from an “inferior creature” the Mermaid Princess, started the process where he would regain the humanity that the culture of the Celestial Dragons deny themselves. He lived and died on a principle to respect all life, and was condemned by his kinsmen as a traitor and executed on those very principles, denounced as “lower than scum”.

I don’t know, I just thought that the worst and best of humanity comes from the Donquixote Family in One Piece, I’m sure that they must be more to it than that. But it’s also interesting that every “good” member of the Donquixote dies, and usually with the brutal death.

(Homing’s wife didn’t but Oda has this ‘women are delicate’ thing going on that prevents him portraying anything like the gangster-style murders of Homing and Roshinante)

Personally, I believe Alexandra canonically deals with that already in the form of Leliana - so it goes fairly well, all things considered. Is there tensions in that regard? Absolutely; and will Alexandra use all her natural charisma and persuasion to convince them that all things in regards to her well-being is completely fine? You bet. But when it comes to them, that overwhelming, unrelenting nature in which she so thoroughly throws in pursuit of knowledge or political gain reorients itself toward her partner. Try to deny yourself a moment of peace. You have a 5'9 woman bearing down at you with golden-flamed emerald eyes, and that melodicious voice growing as sharp as a knife against silk. You will take a relaxing bath. Of course, her joining in is a pleasant side-benefit, after all.

Though, surprisingly, she does not actively try anything sexual in there. Romantic kisses? Of course.
