Pjo x Spiderverse
Afro-caribbean protagonist
New York is A Big Deal
To quote my younger brothers:"REAL HOBIE IS WHAT PERCY COULD'VE BEEN IF RICK WASN'T A PUSSY"/"So Hobie's Percy but jamaican-english.Got it /hj"
Memories is literally Hazel.'My memories came back in the form of someone else,i know this feeling yes,i know this very well, why won't you love me now?(Why won't you love me now?)'/'It's gon' take some gettin' used to,feel the pain when it hits you, don't you ever let them fool you(x2)Cause i know that you said that ain't true,i learned the hard way about trust, about us,about us,you shouldn't be on your high horse,we're not so stable anymore, what's left if i give you my all?(x8)'.Just,the ENTIRE THING is such a Hazel song i'll stop myself now
Peter B and Miguel are like if Apollo and Poseidon were based
Rio is Sally down to looks in addition to personality and place in the story and dosen't Jessica look a lot like how Persephone is often pictured along with her fun mom with a serious side vibes?
Canon events are pretty much prophecies with a different name
Spider Society isn't too much like Camp Half Blood and if i said that's because it's Camp Jupiter?
Nico and Percy have the Miles and Gwen dynamic.Do not throw P*rcico allegations at me because this includes Percy being a trans girl and the list of parallels between them is looooong but to summarize:Nerdy sunshine softboy and older pastel punk girl met at his school she's there for because she's part of the new world he's about to join, they form a connection that leaves them aching for eachother and reunite a year later with one of them showing up at in the other's room while their Mamí's throws a party and they catch up tons as they feed them and that's when their connection is made cosmic with their following adventure, the ghost-coded one is hiding a dad related secret that leads to a 'betrayal' but not really and the other one gets rightfully blows up at them for it and they slowly fix things because they're soulmates by choice in every universe
Margo and Leahbeth is the same on every level and if we go with above,Ghostbyte=Lesbian Percabeth(The only Percabeth that can actually work tbh)
Anya seems to have been made Clarisse-esque and Lyla is pretty much a nymph
Gayatri and Rachel. You guys see it too right
And Jason and Ripeter.Sorry,
As an apology for that,Jason has major Andrew!Peter vibes and Tasm Petergwen reminds me of Jercy
Every character you can think of in either is autistic on some level
Urban fantasy story and superhero story but of the same mold is essentially the thing

were there any fic ideas you never ended up writing that you regret not doing?
also, do you have any other undertale ships? {:
Ah! Thank you for the ask dear heart! Let's see...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course I have fics that are still deep in my drafts, and I also have a few unfinished fics currently published ON Ao3.
I don't really regret not publishing certain fics because it's not really a matter of if more than it is a matter of when. A few of these old ideas just need way more fleshing out and just aren't ready for the limelight.
And that "not if but when" mindset is carried over to my unfinished fics as well, like Baby Face and YWIW.
They'll eventually be completed. (Although tbh, I'm not so sure about ywiw now, may have to go and really take a good long look at that one and the goals I want to achieve with it. For YWIW, I guess I regret some of the choices I made with Frisk's character arc. Like I accidentally walked back on things that I shouldn't have. Sequels are hard, y'all.)
Now for my other UT ships? Hmmmm...
I'm gonna come out the gate swinging and say that I, first and foremost do not ship Asgore and Toriel. I think their dynamic is more interesting as a divorced couple. Boom. That'll stir the pot some.
(I have a lot of weird UT ships tbh)
Now, moving on to what I actually ship:
Asriel x Papyrus / Papsriel / Boneblossom
This stems more from how I wrote their dynamic in wdyw part 4 + ywiw. See, when Frisk and Sans are off doing hard main character work, Papyrus and Asriel were alone together a lot, working through both of their collective daddy issues together (their fathers were big ole villains and they were consoling each other about their relationships with their fathers, it was actually very sweet) Ergo, I began to ship.
But also, if you look at the game, there are instances of Asriel and Papyrus befriending, and Asriel manipulating him, or growing fond of Papyrus in his own way as Flowey. Yeah there's the problem of "well technically Asriel is a child!" Which like... Okay, he's also dead and immortal at the same time. In wdyw he died at an older age so... 🤷🏻‍♀️ It depends on where you take the story. I could also just ship them platonically. So yeah!
Undyne x Alphys / Alphyne
This one is obvious. They're canon. They're beautiful. I love gay people. I love lesbians. I am a gay people. I am a lesbian. I love them.
Also, low-key, I also just like to explore more of their dynamic than just lovey dovey sapphic stuff. The highs and the lows. And they're perfect to do that with.
Nick x Sans / Nicecream Guy x Sans
This one is unorthodox, but it's because of Baby Face. They're so gay in that fic like it's unbelievable. If not Sans, then definitely Nick. Like they've definitely explored each other's bodies at least once.
Also in wdyw, they have a more complex, complicated friendship since they're more like long lost friends, and the whole "you betrayed our ideals by joining Asgore's military" and Nick "you joined a rebellion that will never win, you've doomed yourself to martyrdom." Sans saving Nick from prison & the purge, ugh, they're so complex, I love em!
Nick is definitely gay. I know we were pushing for Alick but honestly... That boy is gay. And I really believe that. I think the only better pairing for him would be Napstablook, or... And I guess I'll concede to years of shipping before me... Burgerpants/Bryan. Because Bryan has that like, newly joined rebellion, starry eyes, just found out his crush was brutally murdered by one of Muffet's assassins, etc, and then there's Nick, shining hero of the revolution. I think it could work really well.
Muffet x Toriel / Muffriel / Spiderscotch
Bro even the name screams lesbian, wtf? This is like Everlark's alternative ship name being peenis.
BRO THEY LIVE IN THE RUINS TOGETHER, MUFFET SET UP SHOP IN THE RUINS. TORIEL BAKES PIES AND MUFFET BAKES FUCKED UP SPIDER DONUTS. THEY'RE A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN. (And I'm purely talking about classic, but who's to say that wdyw Muffet wasn't sneaking into the queen's chambers after killing her own husband and poisoning Toriel's daughter right under her nose? UGH THE DRAMA!!!!)
Ugh, I love my gay ships.
Anyway, Toriel is the sweet, albeit very flawed, old money, cottage core wife, and Muffet is the manipulative, borderline Machiavellian, macabre, new money, goth wife and they're PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER. I've never been more serious in my life.
Anyway, those are my UT ships that are not Frans. Don't come for me, I know they're unconventional (except for Alphyne) but I love them each dearly.

btw as a gnc trans person i totally agree about the trans/gnc overlap but tbh the person in your notes saying that a passing trans person would be privileged over gnc gay cis people kind of takes it too far imo. like i think this can be one of those things of privilege having a lot of meanings and applications? like in the example they gave, a bi trans man who "passes" might be a lot less likely to be harassed or attacked on the street or in public, or even in gendered bathrooms, and would probably face less overt prejudice in daily life but an effeminate gay man and a butch lesbian are a lot less likely to have their gender denied at the doctor or their access to hormones illegalized by the state or like, have to get a name and gender marker change (if they can in their state/country) or explain to employers and doctors and so on that they go by a different name and have a different gender than what it says on their paperwork. anyway, overall i agree with your points i just felt like that part needed to be pointed out. but yeah overall i appreciate the discussion and i think everyone should always be trying to be freer from cisgenderism :)
I agree. I think a lot of people's perception of "privilege" is "would you be harassed by random strangers on the street," but that's only one example of marginalization. When you read about violence towards trans women, for example, so many instances involve a straight cis man who was attracted to her, found out she was trans, and turned violent. It's callous to act like initially "passing" would work as a privilege in these situations when that's central to the violence they face. There's so much discourse specifically around passing trans people as "deceptive," as surgery as "mutilation," a culture of "transvestigators," that it makes no sense for anyone to view transition as a ticket out of transphobia. And conversely, while transphobes aren't exactly comfortable with cis gender nonconforming people, TERFs will constantly use cis "tomboys" as a wedge against trans men and ask trans women "why can't you just be a feminine man?"
People have left a lot of comments on my posts lately, some that I enthusiastically cosign, some I'm undecided about but find interesting, and others that I instantly find off putting. It goes to show that I shouldn't impulsively act like I agree with statements without sitting with them first. So, thank you for the good points!

I hate how Miles says that blacksun was an example of first relationships not working out but gave zero evidence why Blake and Sun would have a falling out and just want to remain friends when they played up the romantic build up for years. It's just a contrived coincidence that Sun decides to go back to his useless team (instead of sssn helping against Salem and minions the biggest threat and priority) and pretend he never liked Blake romantically and Blake promptly forgets about Sun after the cheek kiss and neither of them express hesitation, guilt, or regret from moving on so quickly. Especially Blake who moves immediately to Yang like Sun never existed and played no role in supporting her.
absolutely. miles has no idea what he's talking about tbh. it's so obvious bees was never the plan. if they never intended on going with black sun, they should never have bothered with building up the ship at all or admitted outright that we shouldn't have expected anything from it. jokes stop being funny if you drag them out, for years. and that's all black sun was to them, a joke.
they know black sun was the healthier more functional ship than bees and that bees has no substance at all. they just aren't wiling to admit that.
it's the same level of shitty immature bullshit bryke tried to pull after ATLA because people preferred zutara to kataang.
"It was dark and intriguing but never would've worked!"
"it was just fun teenage romance. it never would've worked out!"
"You were watching the show through a HeTeRoNoRmAtIvE LeNse. here, take our shitty 0 substance lesbian ship and give us ur moniezzzz 122233464441!"

I've once seen a TOH critical post that said the show has too many characters and that some of them should've been combined into fewer characters from the get go:
Amity + Hunter = lesbian/wlw Golden Guard, sassy teen with abusive background who is eventually redeemed
Willow + Gus = Luz's first friend on TBI, very magically powerful for their age
Edric + Emira = trickster illusionist (I don't remember other details besides this-)
And while they haven't been mentioned in the original post I assume Alador and Darius would have to be combined too (as Amity/Hunter's flawed father figure who is proficient at abomination magic) and Odalia would be removed entirely since Belos already serves as the abusive parental figure
I guess other combinations that could work are Boscha + Bria (most antagonistic bully against Willow/Gus) and Skara + Matt (less mean/redeemed bully who later befriends Willow/Gus) though op haven't mentioned them either
What do you think? Personally I have mixed feelings on this idea tbh
So you are taking this too far. The original poster picked their first three pairings for a reason. Those three couples all serve similar narrative functions and pairing the two down to one wouldn't necessarily change a lot, though I think the Hunter one is inaccurate for who to combine and I'll get to that. First let's talk about you taking this too far.
Darius is NOT a father figure for Amity (though if you did combine her and Hunter, he would make sense to be one but now we're rewriting the entire show) and his mastery over abominations is more meant to mean that he is the eventual obstacle who uses abomination magic like all of the Coven Heads were theoretically presented as to begin with. Bria is a one off antagonist who's specific background and the fact that she's unknown to Gus play into the episode and the role she must play. Matt and Skara shouldn't have been combined due to narrative similarities but more to make it so when Skara randomly is now Willow's friend, it feels natural AT ALL which is more a problem of TOH reusing Skara without realizing who they're reusing in that episode besides her being a character people liking the design of.
And that last part also can often justify a one off character. Vee overall serves effectively no purpose to the overall story but she's good for her one episode and inspired a lot of people. A charismatic rando can be good for your fandom. It allows more variety in who they can use, be attached to and what stories by the community can be made. MLP did this too with the BILLION BACKGROUND PONIES.
BUT.
TOH does have a primary cast problem and a redundancy problem within it. The problem isn't combining characters though, it's that some just had to be straight up cut. It just has WAY too many that are cued as important as one could argue the primary cast, who we're told is important, ranges from 7 (the Hexside Squad/Eda/King) to 9 (including Lilith and Belos). Even a full 3 seasons of 20 episodes would only have allowed an average of almost 7 episodes per character and Amity gets that many episodes in Season ONE. Anyways, onto the three pairings:
I've already argued in the past that Hunter is redundant to literally THREE characters in the show and does each of their jobs WORSE. The parental issues and redemption of Amity, the connection to the EC and having power that Lilith did in S1 (which means S2's 'main plot' with Hunter does come across as a copy of S1 as a note but less personal) and then the fear of exile of Kikimora but not nearly as over the top since we're supposed to at least slightly respect Hunter. Hunter's existence is part of why Lilith has to infantilized and mocked as much as she is because otherwise, she'd be gunning for Belos by her S1 characterization but that would get in the way of Hunter being the main connection against the enemy. All of his scenes with Belos are just "Be a good pawn." "Okay but what if I'm not?" "Be a good pawn" repeated like three times. It's such a basic and shallow relationship that when Belos isn't around for Sport in a Storm, Darius can easily just replace Belos in getting Hunter to do something by effectively the same means that Belos would have.
I've also talked about how Gus and Willow need one of them replaced. Not fully cut like Hunter who I think was just a mistake to add in S2 but that one of them needed to be Viney. This is more because Viney at least practices multiple magics and so could show a different side of how the coven system effects young witches, like she does in her one main episode, while Gus/Willow could have been the evangelist. Admittedly, you could also have cut both Gus and Willow for Viney and made Amity the evangelist for the coven system due to inherent skill in only one magic. It fits into the theoretical thematics, worldbuilding and story of the show. As it stands, Willow, Gus and Amity as the three kids Luz befriends is awkward because they imply Belos is right. Willow effectively CAN'T cast other types of magic from what we've seen but can rival a coven head WITHOUT TRAINING OR PRACTICE so long as she's using plant magic. That's bad. That's just bad, unless Belos is right and Willow is a chosen one to be the next plant Coven Head.
On the flipside... There's no reason to cut Emira or Edric. They're effectively one character and practically one offs. They get one more B plot after their introduction and are good comedy in Adventure in the Elements but otherwise they barely exist. Not only that but they always exist as a pair. Edric gets his own thing to do in Reaching Out but that's the closest we come to individual character development besides the differences in their personality which make them fun for fandom. Otherwise... They most exist to give Amity support and to give Amity someone to talk to which is the purpose of a supporting cast to a supporting member. Fusing them wouldn't do anything but make them less unique honestly since we don't see many twins in media.
Then again, they also might be twins because of Fred and George because the show mocks Harry Potter while obviously taking PLENTY of inspiration from it.
But Harry Potter had FOUR primary characters. Harry, Hermione, Ron and Voldemort and Voldemort, like Belos, was an absentee villain. We were only ever supposed to expect those three characters to be important and get development though with only MAYBE two exceptions in Snape and Dumbledore. That focus benefited it from book one to book seven, loathe as I am to praise Rowling's writing.
It is a page TOH should have considered taking from because its twin pair of main casts (Hexide Squad and The Owl House) only joined by one character did it no favors, before or after the shortening.

personal thoughts on the staff post about the situation. under readmore + rbs turned off bc this is more for my archival than anything else
one thing that immediately stands out is the lack of clarification on the ban.
The reality of predstrogen's suspension was not accurately conveyed, and made it seem like we were reaching for opportunities to ban trans feminine people on the platform. This is not the case. The example comment shared in the post linked above does not meet our definition of a realistic threat of violence, and was not the deciding factor in the account suspension. [...] Transition timelines are not against our community guidelines, and weren’t a factor considered by the moderation team when discussing suspensions and subsequent appeals. We do not take action against content that is related to transitioning or trans bodies unless it includes violations of the Community Guidelines.
so what was? if it wasn't the transition timeline (which was repeatedly removed due to 'violating community guidelines', including after appeals) or the threat (which tbf i didn't assume was, on its own, the reason for the ban-- matt always cited it as 'one example'), then like... what exactly was?
the same (second) quote also re-asserts something we already knew. yeah, no duh, the concept of a transition timeline is not against community guidelines (tho it's worth mentioning that jv, an ex-employee, did refer to it as though it was equivalent to a sex worker posting an ad for their onlyfans.)
See, I don't think trans accounts here gets banned more often than, let's say, sex workers accounts. Because for Matt / moderation policies, posting a pic of your body to show up how your transition is going to your friends is the same than posting a picture of your body to promote your onlyfans. The context, the intention, doesn't matter much to them, the action is what matters. And of course, for a lot of trans folks here, their body is a very important topic to talk about, to show, to be proud of … but people like Matt don't really understand (or care) about the difference between that kind of self-expression and posting a thirst trap.
ftr, the above was posted before jv had seen the post in question (afaik), so they couldn't have known it was shoulders-up, but like-- this is still a drastically incorrect way to frame things. & transmisogynistic! like, first of all, if trans accounts don't get banned more often than sex workers... so what? they're not all sex workers, and even if they are, as long as their accs don't break guidelines they shouldn't be banned AS OFTEN AS "sex workers" (unclear if jv means sex workers or accounts specifically used for sex work).
it's also ridiculous because people post ootds all the time. people send photos of themselves in clothing made by artists on tumblr all the time, saying 'thanks for the [clothing item] it looks great on me!' i have never seen any of these threatened w community labels. objectively speaking, a trans woman saying 'look how my body has changed' in a FULLY CLOTHED transition timeline is not calling more attention to her body than a cis woman saying 'look how good i look in these jeans.' &, again, even on accounts by (e.g.) cis lesbians made for thirsting over each other (/pos) i fail to see any action being taken against (again, clothed) posts like 'i hear you girls like butches in flannel' or w/e. this is just obviously not true. moderation is not viewing all posts displaying people's bodies equally. (& tbh i disagree that you can linearly describe transition timelines as 'calling attention to the user's body', but like, whatever atp.)
furthermore, txttletale explained:
she was banned because her account was under a unique amount of scrutiny and subject to a mass harassment campaign and yes, that scrutiny came from the controversy around her transition photos.
so idrgaf if staff tells us more than once that she wasn't specifically banned for transition photos. that's like, not even the issue here. she has at least once had her account mass reported for posts like that to the point that she had to email and get it back, but even if it's not specifically over those pics, 1) they're still a major factor 2) wtf was it then lol 3) WHY DID THEY GET TAKEN DOWN.
bc nobody has managed to correctly address thus far why they continued to be consistently removed even after the appeals were re-considered by tumblr staff. i've seen some people posit that it was bc of the harness, which like. 1) i have not seen these labels on historical pride photos featuring harnesses, nor should they be used in those instances 2) whoah maybe that should be in the guidelines then!
like i get why they don't want to get into the reasons behind everybody's bans but at the very least maybe clarify your rules so trans people can better plan their posts for their audience.
Last year, the "mature" and "sexual themes" community labels were erroneously applied to some users' posts. An outside team of contractors tasked with applying community labels to posts were responsible for this larger trend of mislabeling trans-related content. When our Trust & Safety team discovered this issue (thanks largely to reports from the community), we removed the contracted team’s ability to apply community labels and added more oversight to ensure it does not happen again. In the Staff post about this, LGBTQ+ staff pushed to be more transparent but were overruled by leadership. The termination of a contractor mentioned in the original ask response was for an unrelated incident which was incorrectly attributed to this case. We regret that the mislabeling ever happened, and the negative impact it has had on the trans community on Tumblr.
...so there have been multiple transphobic moderation issues. awesome. others have pointed out that it's not clear based solely on this whether the contracted team is still on the job and what they can do (since this doesn't say they were fired or even removed from moderating, just that specifically their ability to apply labels was removed.) and the complaints of transmisogynistic application of community labels haven't disappeared, so this also seems like a failure to address the issue.
When it comes to the experience of trans folks on Tumblr encountering transphobic content, and interacting with bigoted users, we understand and share your frustrations. Tumblr’s policies, and Automattic’s policies, are written to ensure freedom of speech and expression. We prohibit harassment as defined in our Community Guidelines, but we know that this policy falls short of protecting users from the wider scope of harmful speech often used against LGBTQ+ and other marginalized people.
also disappointing as a response. excuses the way the policy is written while also acknowledging it "falls short." if it falls short, it needs to be fixed, unless the right of terfs to post about how trans women are rapists supercedes the right of trans people to exist unharassed on this platform. as many have noticed, tumblr doesn't even have a policy against misgendering, which even twitter had at some point.
they proceed to say that going forward tumblr staff is doing xyz, which tbh i'm not even responding to here bc i doubt any of that is going to happen. the existence of the post itself verifies that what trans people at tumblr want has no bearing while matt is ceo.
...ok wait i lied.
Reviewing which of the tags frequently used by the trans community are blocked, and working to make them available next week.
imo, even if there are literally thousands of tags to look through, staff needs to have someone sit down and look through all of them. this puts the burden on the community to report these things AGAIN, which is not long-term feasible or fair. just go through the tags you're blocking and figure out which are fair to block (i.e., "pro ana" "ts porn" etc.) and which aren't (not just tags like "tgirl" but "nsfw art" because nsfw art IS NOW ALLOWED LOL).
idk most of my own thoughts boil down to txttletale's tags:
it is not a very meaningful gesture but it is all that the people makign it are actually capable of so dunking on it seems lazy
it doesn't mean much and most if not all of it is stuff we already know but what else can trans staff do. i'm mostly bothered by the implication in the post that they CAN do anything when we know based on everything leading up to this and this post itself that this is not the case. ofc i think it's incredibly brave of trans staff to do ANYTHING, but still, this is capitalism & modern tech. my hopes are not particularly high.
other people additionally pointed out that this post fails to:
specify that the moderation issues primarily apply to TRANS WOMEN (not lgbtq people in general)
& specify whether there are trans women/transfems working @ tumblr (they consistently just say 'trans people' which like. alright 'trans people' are very often transmisogynistic. but it does seem tho that there are transfems there so probably just wording.)
address the numerous bans of other trans women since avery
& the previous 'unexplained' bans of black and palestinian bloggers
& the entire system for 'report sexual content' which, when spammed, explodes a blog on the spot with no explanation to its owner
& the fact that matt followed avery to twitter to list out her sideblogs
REINSTATE AVERY'S ACCOUNT. lol.
anyway. a few notable responses, as of 2/24/24.
mostly positive:
(one) (two) (three) (four) (five)
mostly critical:
(one) (two) (three) (four) (five) (six) (seven) (eight) (nine) (ten) (eleven) (twelve) (thirteen) (fourteen) (fifteen) (sixteen) (seventeen) (eighteen) (nineteen)
(jv's notes plus reddit corpospeak 'translation') (more of jv's notes) (staff member echo's response) (jv's update on matt's lack of response)
(ex-staff member lara's response)
meanwhile, matt has been silent, after politely declining an invite to pissvortex's live chat & having his wikipedia page changed to say he died feb 19 in a "car hammer explosion." truly incredible

Holy moly season finale thoughts!
Albie his Dad and Grandfather are all trash. Albie is a little spoiled rich boy who was just like yeah she played me nbd after coercing his pathetic dad to drop 50k.... And was Grandpa screwing Mia this whole time???! Hope they crash and burn in life, gotta watch out for guys like this ladies!!
Tanya Tanya Tanya.... My jaw dropped during the boat scene lol like whaaat happened! Part of me thinks the gays weren't going to hurt her and she just got paranoid but... I'm thinking they were gonna kill her. I'm just not sure why they didn't do it earlier? Why make a personal connection? Why take her to all these luxurious places just to kill her? Why not just kill her on the first boat ride there? Take out Portia too why not there's no reason to keep her around.. I honestly thought Greg would be on the boat to somewhere but nope! I wonder what the guy that jumped must think though, and what Jack thinks when he finds out!! So many lingering plot points! I do feel bad for Tanya but I'm still a little shocked she didn't put at least some of it together earlier, I thought she had moments of clarity but I guess not.. and the sound design of her hitting the rail 🤮🤮🤮🤮💀
Portia needs to find a new city to live in, new job, work on herself and stand on her own two feet before thinking about starting and relationship. But no, she goes back to Albie after a traumatizing event... Ugh
I like to think Daphne didn't do anything with Ethan. She's already got her trainer and kids, I'm not sure why she'd believe Harper slept with him after their girls night out... Idk I don't think anything happened. Maybe some oral to boost Ethan's ego but nothing more. I lived that Cameron was all sad at the end though in the airport, he's now beta dog compared to Ethan lol
PS: Daphne saying next they'll do the Maldives LMAO
Ethan and choke though, insecure lame excuse for a man.
Harper.... Idk she shouldn't have lied. I'm upset they had her lie in the first place, didn't seem on character since she told Ethan about everything else Cameron had done throughout the vacation. But she got a great lay so... I guess if they are happy then all is well, right??
Valentina will hopefully go to the lesbian bars and gain confidence in herself and find herself a girlfriend! I was very cute when she was finally nice to Rocco, good character development!
Lucia..... Idk.. not my favorite character but I guess she got what she wanted so.. good for her? One day it'll bite her but until then, good for you.
Mia needs to watch her back with Giuseppe!! I'm impressed they had time to bring him back tbh, but I'm happy for her. Got a cushy singing job and is rolling thanks to Lucia. I really hope good things happen for her!!
Great finale, not remotely what I thought would happen but I still loved it!!!

tell me about your ocs please!!! (/nf)
idk if u want my science fantasy multiverse thing or my silly transgenders because they are both cool but uh. you get silly transgenders
Lucas. Lin. Odin (presumed cishet). Noah. Madison (Madison isn't trans unless you're my ex. then shes whatever you want)
Lucas is silly. anxious 24/7 and kinda a dick about it. he means well i promise he's the main character and he's silly
Lin gets transphobically hate crimed every morning by Odin. he's great he's clinically depressed and he's SO fucking funny
Odin is our transphobic king and my personal fave. greasy and cishet (or is he). his dad is on the council but also his dad hates him
Noah. well. ADHD king. dead?!?!?! god is canon?!?!?! lying to his boyfriend (lucas)?!?!?!
Madison is the daughter of the mayor and lesbian icon she has autism swag and she's besties with Odin.
hijinks ensue. by that i mean there's a lot of arguments and odin physically assaults a guy (Lin) a lot . also noahs like a ghost which is technically a secret but its revealed in like chapter 15 and its not REALLY a shock. like yeah. the pale guy who knows approximately nothing and lies about his homelife. yeah .
also odin and madison are both insanely wealthy and there are some really funny interactions that come out of that. theres a spinoff where their dads fuck each other. its not relevant to the plot whatsoever.
also they all have parental issues in some shape or form. i think the best of them is madison (daddy's girl) and the worst of them. i mean in practice odin or lin but Noah's parents ARE why he's dead. but we never meet them (WHICH IS IMPORTANT TO THE NARRATIVE)
honestly Noah's themes and motifs are so fun. he's such a guy. he's so silly he's blond and he likes running and lin really hates him for zero reason.. a guy of all time
all in all the story is very. trying to find yourself/coming to terms with who you'll never be. the ending (as i have it planned atm) is bittersweet and unsatisfactory in the way life is. Noah didn't get to be who he was meant to be. At least he was loved.
Odin and Lin have a really interesting arc as well because on paper. they shouldn't work. but they do!!! and its awful and beautiful all at the same time!!! Odin's character arc is honestly my favourite he goes through a LOT of growth and honestly. he's just SO relatable at parts. what a guy.
i think it's all quite silly tbh. im currently on ch26 of my first draft and im very excited for when i finish it !!! they're my silliest guys :)))
thank u so much for asking please please please ask more if you're interested this has literally made my entire day !!! /nf

Realizing that my first two lesbian ships was abusive in nature is so wild and weird. Lapidot and MadoHomu were the reasons why I came to be accepting toward same gender romance (no idea how that worked tbh). I can't remember how exactly my way of thinking change but It was from this base that I slowly became supportive of the LGBTQA+ community. I used to think being gay is something weird and bad, and I was so glad that I've dropped those homophobic ideas.
I didn't expect those ships to be predatory (Homura) nor abusive (Lapis). I feel so terribly guilty for supporting them when the realization hit me.
At least Lumity is able to avoid having those dangerous traits.
Look, I'm not saying that people shouldn't love toxic/doomed queers; in fact, I believe they do serve their purpose in and out of a story, since they add layers of nuance to a community that's reduced to one-dimensional fairytale sugary-sweetness and wholesomeness...
I just believe that if you think the things they do are justified because they are traumatized, I think you misunderstood their stories. Terribly.
Both Lapis and Homura have in common, is the fact that both are stupidly and severely stubborn. Both of them refuse to heal and evolve, and have horrible coping methods that hurts not just them, but everyone else around them.
They adamantly refuse to admit that they need help, and some external force (either the narrative or the fandom, most likely both) sugar-coats their misdeeds as if they're in the right to be menaces to society.
Also, funny thing about you being homophobic because of MadoHomu, because I used to think the same too. My first exposure to PMMM unfortunately was The Rebellion Story, and when I saw Homura boldly declaring her status as a demon, I was like: "Oh, wow! Gay people are evil!"
Thankfully, I grew up past that bigoted phase...

tbh i agree with Sarah Z
. acting like no celebrity Could be queerbaiting when their public image is a carefully crafted by a marketing team is like.... silly. it is fully possible that someone who is straight and cis and does not personally feel a connection to an ambiguous or otherwise queer aesthetic might still dress like that or make queer-seeming media etc, in order to get the queer audience dollars
but, ultimately, it's not worth it to try to snoop and speculate and drag people through the mud for not "coming out" or forcing them out of the closet, because that is a very shitty thing to do, and people don't deserve for it to happen to them.
thinking specifically of Becky Albertalli and queer creators, i do think it's challenging when it comes to trying to critique a depiction of queerness by taking the author's own sexuality and intent into account. because, well, looking into authorial intent and the circumstances around someone's writing is not an unfair thing to do. to compare it to something that may be similar, like. if a white person from California is writing about/from the perspective of a black person from the south, personally i think it might be worthwhile or at least relevant to know that the author is white and from California when evaluating how you feel, or how well you think the author did with their subject matter. it is NOT to say the white person from California shouldn't have touched the topic with a ten foot pole, they very well may have done an excellent job with their story, but those details are still relevant when it comes to understanding the text in some ways. maybe.
i don't disagree that it gets heated and nasty, though, because it did when it came to Albertalli's work, she was lambasted as a straight writer catering to a straight audience with a gay love story. but she isn't straight. and, well, she's still not a gay man, but... believe it or not, even queer people can write queer media that some queer people hate (lol)
tangent: i fucking haaateed the movie The Kids Are All Right and low and behold, one of the directors was a whole lesbian. i was surprised! it seemed like such a fucking shitty and annoying depiction of a lesbian couple (including scenes where a lesbian who proclaims she's exclusively a lesbian sleeps with a man several times. no mention of the notion she might be bisexual. the lesbians also watch gay male porn which i guess was supposed to be transgressive and showing that sexuality was complex, but to me it was so eye-roll worthy like what's wrong with showing women who are... into women? sorry im getting off track. maybe there are lesbians who love this movie. im bisexual so /shrug)
anyway. unfortunately, being queer does not mean you will tell an amazing queer story. and knowing an author is queer does not mean you have to like the way queerness was used in the story even if you think it was bad. but, still, i am usually more likely to at least be lighter with criticism if i know the author depicting the story is of the same community or has lived experience, even if i still dislike the overall depiction. maybe that unfairly absolves them of a shitty story, idk. btw this isnt to say Simon vs the Homo Sapiens was bad, it was, like, fine tbh. some of the plot points annoyed me, but that's common in YA novels by now. one of my advisors who is a gay man really loved it so that also made me like it more bc it was cute seeing how much he enjoyed it (ironically, lol)
not sure where i was going with this anymore. but it's an interesting, challenging topic to address "real people queerbaiting". ultimately i think it CAN be done, by celebrities who are crafting an image to market to fans, but that it's not worth the harm of pushing people out of the closet to try to "stop" the "problem" from occuring.

My controversial opinion of the day is that I don't think people should get so mad when a lesbian just makes a comment saying "I hate men".
Like I get it's one thing if they start being like "and all men should die and they're all testosterone filled monsters", but a lesbian who's Not doing all that and saying they hate men is, more than anything, an expression of exasperation at the patriarchy and rampant sexism. And lesbians especially have to deal with people from both right wing sides and in queer spaces trying to push men on them, trying to say they're secretly into men, and force lesbians to include them in their sexuality and its exhausting.
It's not an attack on trans men obviously and it can also be pretty hyperbolic, like I'm not gonna go around telling the men at work or in my classes that I hate them for being men, obviously. We shouldn't have to philosophize over minor venty comments passed in seconds, and honestly men can stand to bare what's the equivalent of a minor negative youtube comment in return for all the damage the patriarchy has done. Just another one of those things people love to scrutinize lesbians over tbh
-🦇
What’s funny is that people don’t seem to care when the one saying “I hate men” is a straight woman, a bi woman (or anyone who isn’t a lesbian), well obviously allo cishet men are usually bothered by that statement no matter who is saying it.
And it’s ironic because the same people who contribute to think all lesbians are men haters, when they see a lesbian saying something like that they get mad?? It doesn’t make sense.
People are very pressed over the fact we’re not attracted to men and that lack of attraction is enough for them to think we hate men because how could someone not be attracted to men?? So non-lesbians always act offended specifically when it’s a lesbian saying “I hate men”, calling us misandrists (as if that existed lol), terfs or anything to try to offend us.
It’s like they can’t think we also suffer misogyny and we also suffer because of men. They seem to be very empathic when a non-lesbian shares their hatred for men and their bad experiences with men but the same people do not allow lesbians to hate men even if we also have to deal with them daily.
It’s like people think lesbians cannot be oppressed by men, always treating us as if we weren’t a minority.

not sure if you accept vent asks or do advice but. I've got this friend on my soccer team who i've gotten close with over the last year and in the past few weeks I've realised I might be starting to get a crush on him. He's a trans guy and I've been hesitantly calling myself a lesbian for a while but tbh idk what I am and I don't think i ever will. Anyway, I just don't know what liking him means for my sexuality, whether it means I like guys or don't see him as a guy, both of which are weird things to accept.
I don't think I even want to pursue it bc our friendship is more important to me than a romance that i'd probably mess up (and i don't even know if he likes girls) (but whether or not i'm a girl is another a can of worms i'm not ready to get into). it would be easier if i could just get over it but I can't stop thinking about him, a part of me wants to tell him but I know i shouldn't
I accept vents, rants, and people asking for advice. I usually assume some form of advice is wanted if the situation applies and the person who sent the ask didn’t say they were just ranting and don’t want advice.
To be honest, your sexuality confusion sounds a lot like what I went through. For me, ditching labels and just kind of going with the flow was the best thing for me. If you feel more comfortable with a label, you could simply go by sapphic. It’d accommodate days where you just like women, and days when you also like men. Whether you elaborate and explain to others on each particular day is completely up to you.
If it’s a case of you not seeing him as a guy, the only thing I can recommend is reinforcing the idea of him being a guy until you don’t have to think about it anymore. (There aren’t moments where you remind yourself he’s a guy, or think of him as anything other than a guy). I know with the current climate around these things we can be scared to struggle with people’s new identities, but it happens and ignoring it doesn’t help. So, reinforcing their new identity in your mind can at least help your confusion.
That’s understandable. Depending on the nature of your friendship with him, you could always talk to him. Anytime feelings and friendships, and not wanting to pursue relationships, comes up in asks, people always comment advice to talk to the person. If it’s something you’re comfortable with, you could talk to him and say that you think you have feelings for him, but don’t want to actually pursue these feelings because of needing to work out a lot of things for yourself. So for a while you want to take some time away from him (or cutting down on your interactions) to work out your feelings and move on from him.

Hey!
Tumblr media
This is what a guy had in his status updates. I asked him "how is this not sexist?" He said sexual attraction is not sexist. That finding a woman sexually attractive is different from groping her in the same name, nor should she be blamed even if groped, and groper must face consequences.
He said: quote
"Radfems cant joke, watch porn normally talk to a man and say they are in misery. 😂"
Well, it's not the case for me... i talk to anyone....
I said, well, these kind of memes normalise sexualising a woman based on her clothes, he said, so what? What's wrong with looking sexually attractive? And he was like, this joke was created by a lesbian.... Like, does Radfem ideology propagate all women as victim class?
He said, porn and sex offenders are correlated, but not causation: link to research. Cuz correlation does not imply causation.
And about sex work: " Ask for better treatment rather than boycott a fuckin industry or smthg" his words.
He's like, when we argue something shouldn't be published, we're exerting moral authority
tbh sounds like a moron and i wouldn't spend that much more time on him. sorry i don't have a better answer but life is short and all the information is out there, he'll just refuse to read it.

You don’t have to answer if too invasive but how did you find out your father did what he did? I’d think a toddler would be too young to remember
naw its ok. maybe itll be of some use to someone lol. so uh. yea. rly wasnt easy to figure this shit out or to accept it + going through all that weird normalized balkan shit rly made it a lot harder to figure out what the hell was what. as i said in that other post a whole bunch of symptoms made me v unsettled and suspicious of things since i was idk in my early teens, like, ive had utis and bad vaginal and anal pain since forever/ive been hypersexual to the point of feeling like a crazed bitch in heat. since forever. or very sex repulsed/sadomasochism otherwise v fucked up trauma kinks/nightmares/ general anxiety around physical and sexual intimacy/actually mortifying fear of the dark when i was younger, like, abnormal level/weird fucking triggers - like im still freaked out by cameras to this day, i always feel like im being watched especially when theres a camera somewhere, and i used to have v nasty reactions to ppl wanting to take photos of me when i was younger/weird feeling that all i was good for was to b little more than a sex slave for men - despite being a lesbian and having no interest in males/weird relationship w money/intense dissociation/utter disgust and fear around men etc etc etc technically. most of these could just b the result of the other stuff. technically kinda. except in my case it was to such an extent that tbh it uh wouldnt fully explain it frankly, not from what i remember which is most of it
on one hand yes most ppl tend to not remember their early childhoods much.but ehhhhh. many nontraumatized ppl do actually remember a lot. and some of us who are traumatized do. predators often target rly young kids bc they think they wont remember but its not rly a guarantee. i. have cptsd. and osdd/did lol so, uh, brain and grasp on memory and time rly isnt normal. before i feel down a trauma spiral and my psyche cracked once and for all, there were whole chunks of my childhood i couldnt rly remember. i still have a lot of gaps. a lot of it is still blurry and a lot of it i still dont remember... hell, shit feels blurry plenty of times in day to day life.. having a fractured psyche comes w sometimes not remembering much of anything and feeling rly detached from the trauma (and.. reality), and other times feeling like youre drowning in it
uhm, when i first started getting more memories back or flashbacks or my dissociating got worse at around 17/18 it was rly scary and confusing....i was back in romania and something must have triggered me bad idk. and i tried to just go back to repressing all of it but it didnt rly work, not that time. it was such a sickening and deeply unsettling feeling, i felt as if some dam in my mind had finally cracked and i was drowning in insanity. as time went by more of them came and some stuff was harder to deny. i also.. idk. a sick curiosity got the better of me and i went poking around in my brain in the places i perhaps shouldn't have - a bit later on at 18-19 when i started doing psychedelics, and that also rly just.. opened up my brain more idk and connected parts of it which werent connected before. which was partially horrifying and partially, im very thankful for
but uhm. it was many things that i started to put together little by little. the whole thing ended up coinciding w having to admit that i do actually have osdd/did which was.. hard. you dont end up with that severe sort of dissociative disorder and mental fragmentation without a.. certain level of repeated early childhood trauma. and despite all the plenty of other shit i went through, the stuff i knew of didnt ... fully explain it.. uhm. theres a part of me, alter, who vhemently hates my father. like a rabid dog, worse actually bc she leans into just sadistic want to see and feel him suffer actually. dont blame her. and just... at best severly distrust and dislikes men, in general. i think that was one hint lmao and uh.. she remembers more than i tend to about things anyway. others trauma holders and a persecutor alter remember more than i do too, and i dont envy them. some of them have always had a particular fixation on the being prostituted thing which i never rly understood or could put together from just the "regular" family stuff before.. getting to have more of a relationship and communication and understanding w them and breaking down some of the mental barriers and dissociating between us helped... v much still an ongoing process
and uh, i age regress pretty hard, or i have alters younger than this body is, or both frankly. generally agreed upon that the age(s) of said alters is the age(s) at which some trauma happened.. uhm, its actually kind of a whole other fucking nightmare to deal with but i guess u learn to live w it over time and try to make the best of it... uhm. so. because of that theres actually parts of my childhood which id say i remember better than most ppl, bc its like theres an open wound in my psyche back to those times.... sometimes i feel a lot more connected to that time frankly than the current time here. the earliest my memory stretches back is around 2 yrs old, and i remember plenty of scattered things from later on. some of it is trauma stuff, some of it is not..... i try to make the best out of the stuff which isnt. though it does actually rly fucking suck and make you feel insane to have some of ur earliest memories be. sexual stuff... and to know that shit was happening before you could ever remember.... uhm. a lot of the more severe sexual trauma kinda is like this other trauma during that time. when i was 2 i was bitten by a dog and had my hand ripped open - it rly was my fault, i was bothering the stray... i dont remember being bitten, nor the stitching up and rabies shots. but i have the scar on my hand to prove it, and i remember the moments before i was bitten, i remember the dog...... hm. i remember when i was two, i had spend some weeks or so down south with my father and his family. i have my suspicions of what happened but when i got back from them, i had such a mortifying fear of.... something. the dark. being alone. males. something, idk, something, all of it, that id get so scared and so freaked out that id just lose it, feeling such a severe level of terror that id just vomit bc i dont think my body could handle any of it. that i do remember, not pleasant nor particularly normal... for the most part the first memories and sensations and flashes i started getting back werent of the worst or most violent shit... uhm and those already made me suspicious even when they were more blurry and i couldnt remember much, and over time i just started putting two and two together and getting more of a sense of why i have/had certain triggers and nightmares and reactions and such..... a lot of times it feels like having to play detective for your own damn life. i still dont remember a lot of the worst shit. but by now i remember... enough. i remember enough, as hazy and fragmented as it may be at times, i remember much more than i ever fucking wanted to, enough that its undeniable... uhm. and also. that shit didnt end when i was a toddler, rather started then or.. god knows when it fucking started... but i dont really know how old i was when it ended. i left the country when i was 10, that i do know. its all still too fragmented for me to have any sense of, but, i do know it went on till i was older too, bc i remember some of that stuff as well

Hi so follow up to my ask from yesterday. First off I totally agree with you, communication is super key in any kink and assuming that someone would like something just bc you’re in the same kink is honestly a dangerous game no one should play. But in your tag you mentioned there were other issues too. Would you mind sharing them as well?
this is absolutely not a definitive list and not specific to any particular fetish or in any particular order:
-'barely legal' and 'teen' stuff is absolutely rancid for reasons i shouldn't have to explain.
-the unfortunate link between sex work (including online modelling) and human trafficking and sex slavery. a lot of people do sex work because they enjoy it but it's not always the case and we need to be careful with who and where we get content from and make sure everyone is being treated well.
-people appearing in content they didn't consent to be it deep fakes or revenge porn or whatever. this is obviously wrong and people absolutely shouldn't do this.
-the fetishisation of minority groups. the old joke about are you a straight cis white man or a porn category is unfortunately not really a joke tbh and a lot of the category names are pretty problematic. also this kind of content often propagates harmful tropes about the minorites in question.it's not acceptable to reduce an entire subset of people down into a kink!
-most porn is made for men, including a frustrating amount of 'lesbian' porn. this is both really frustrating as a viewer and also a woman that hangs out in online fetish spaces as a huge proportion of men that i encounter online see me as a product to get them off rather than another person. also as someone that wants to get more into content creation, i feel almost pressured to make stuff more broadly targeted in order to capture the male audience.
-the difficulty minorities have in building brands and monetising them in online spaces. i'm not a poc so can't say anything definitive on their behalf but what i have seen from especially black creators is they find monetising their content and brand harder than their peers. (very happy to be corrected on this tho)
-the near total lack of any form of safety/consent talk or disclaimers in any kind of edgeplay-related content. i'd like it in all content tbh but especially with things like cnc and more violent content. safety and consent is an important component of sex and given how absolutely dire sex ed is in most countries people learn a lot from porn and do not get a good education on the actual best practices they need to use.
i'm absolutely not an expert and would welcome actual experts to correct me and lend their opinions on this, but this is a non definitive list of major issues i've seen from my time online.
