I always imagine Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangii laying in bed together looking at each other and suddenly lan zhan saying “ you could’ve anyone in this town why me Wei Ying” and Wei Wuxian smiling and holding Lan Wangji’s face and kissing him gently and as their lips part softly whispers “ you could’ve anyone in this world Lan Zhan, why me ?” And then both of them laughing softly and kissing each other. 😔

MDZS and KPTS character comparison (PT.2)
4. Lan Wangji and Kim Kimhant Theerapanyakul
Both if them are the second born sons. The sons that could be carefree and enjoy the wealth. It seems like their brothers are the ones who should be complaining. But both their families rules reigned too much in their early life.Which led them both to be emotionaly constipated. It's known that both of them have a deep connection to their mothers who have died when they were mere children.
Both find their reprieve in music. Both take out all of their emotions in their music. In the future when they find their significant others they find people with simialr intersat in music. But eventually when they find someone actually showing them love, concern and friendship they push those people away.
Both Lan Wangii and Kim are in love but does not tell the other in fear of them getting hurt because of them and end up hurting their lovers even more.
While we know that Lan Wangji has peaceful life with Wei Wuaxian later after a lot of ups and downs, it's unknown whether Kim and Porchay get back together or not. We know that Kim tries to get back in touch with Porchay and i hope Porchay gives him a 2nd chance obviously after letting Porsche and Thankhun give Kim the shovel talk of the century.
5.Jin Guangyao and Vegas Kornwit Theerapanyakul
Jin Guangyao and Vegas have quite different yet similar childhoods. While both were in different environments their situations were similar.
Jin Guangyao was known as Meng Yao till after Sun Shot Campaign grew up in a brothel till he was 15. His mother while she was alive loved and cared for him very much, because of her wrong understanding of Jin Guangshan's character she had planted a seed of a hope that he would accept Meng Yao his legitimate son one day. In the future he understood there was no pleasing or getting acceptance from his father that was more than a play infront of the other gentry. But the seedling of hope that turned into a tree though was dieing it was hard to uproot. So he did everything to gain his acceotance even if it was just a show. Even if it meant betraying the only people who were ever genuine with him, Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue. After a while he had given up trying to get acceptance so he took it by force by killing Jin Guangshan.
Not much is known about Vegas's early life but it is know that he loved his mother dearly as she loved him. Other than that it's known that he was physically and emotionally abused by his father since childhood which had only gotten worse after his mothers death. He too had lost himself in trying to please his father.
While Jin Guangyao lost himself in his self- braught carnage and betrayed his most close confidante Lan Xichen Vegas found a new pillar for himself A new will to live. After his fathers death he understood with the help of Pete that their never was anything that could please Gun.
While Jin Guangyao died a tragic death in the hand of his rumored beloved Lan Xichen, Vegas was resurrected as a new man by the hand of his love Pete.
6. Su Minshan and Tawan
Both were obsessed bitches that left the good side and then returned trying to kill while trying to eat apples from both trees.

Heyy!
In the lqr exposes everything after nmj's death prompt.
What if lxc pulled a qinghejun and saved jgy in exchange for lifetime seclusion for jgy and went to seclusion himself because he couldn't stand the looks of disappointment and pity everywhere he went and he had no desire to live and follow his duty.
The whole cultivation world knows jgy is a schemer who murdered several people to achieve the things his father required him to do. Some say his ambitions would have gone farther than he was able to achieve in these years because why would he kill, not one, but two heirs of the lanling jin sect?
Lqr doesn't know what to do. He had seen and suffered the consequences of this once but he is not sure he would be able to suffer them another time, knowing that lxc was raised by him. Several years ago he had been very much against the bond between his second nephew and wwx. During the battle of the nightless city he had feared if wangji would have followed his father's footsteps while the whole cultivation world marched against wwx.
But that would've been like his brother wouldn't it? Both of them, late madam lan and wwx were framed for the crimes they did not commit by other people. Both of them had to die before the truth was exposed.
Lxc and jgy weren't the same. Jgy was exposed for every crime he did. His nephew chose not to believe the claims of truth. His nephew painted jgy as a victim.
Moreover wangji never followed in his father's footsteps. Maybe it was the small gossips of the elders and reminders he gave to never become like their father. Maybe it was the love for his mother and seeing firsthand how she desired to leave the prison she was made to wither away in. Maybe it was the maturity and understanding and loving wwx's nature for being a wanderer and being free of chains. His second nephew didn't turn out like his father. Neither did he go into seclusion when his child needed him so much.
--------
Now now, I really don't think nhs is going to let this one go. Lxc has fully broken his bond with his brother if he does this. In the canon, he had firsthand seen what jgy did because jgy took him captive. Here he didn't, all jgy did was plead to him because he knew he had no real power here. So the chances of lxc taking whatever support he had for jgy(he did play his customer service smile for a reason) and pulling this are quiet there.
Lwj is now, unfortunately, made to take up the burden of his sect. Lqr would help lwj because he is the only one who knows what burden it is to take the sect in these conditions. Also lwj's condition is worse because he was directly affected from the crimes his brother's sworn brother did.
But nhs is not letting it go. Add some internal lan sect conflict started by jgy which would've costed lwj's life if nhs wouldn't have put his plan in action and revived wwx to follow it.
Ohh this would be great fun to play with. I can see LQR and LWJ realizing exactly how dangerous JGY is and wanting him as isolated as possible. He has no servants, is allowed no paper or ink to write, is denied any sort of musical instrument, and the guards are kept at a far enough distance so they cannot hear him speak.
Yet somehow he manages to get a spy within the sect. The spy leaves sweet letters to LXC and leaves poison in LWJs tea.

You ever think Lan Wangii hated his brother and family at some point. I get both perspectives from their viewpoint because his family ultimately wants Lan Zhan to be protected and he ultimately wants Wei Ying safe but I can't help but think he must have been at least a little resentful right ? not only because of WWX but the wrongful acts committed on the Wen? We're all human and while I'm sure he forgave them down the line in the beginning resentment wouldn't be to out of the ordinary but what do I know lol? It is just headcanon.
Honestly, I can't see it. Because to me, Lan Wangji is a man that focuses on what he can and cannot do and not what others do. Most of his reflection is focused inward. He laments that he hadn't stood by WWX when WWX needed him, he doesn't comment on how the entire world was unfair for standing against WWX. That is an honorable man that doesn't seek to question others but only question himself.
I believe he would likely be upset or disappointed in some of decisions made by his family, not because those decisions hurt him, LSZ, or WWX, but because how those decisions reflected on their character. At his core, LWJ is not the kind to blame and resent others. Just like how WWX doesn't blame or resent others. JGY caused WWX a lot of agony but he still held compassion for him at the end.
That is just the kind of people these two are. If LWJ does become angry, it wouldn't be resentment because that has a shade of selfishness and selfish is not something LWJ will ever be.
I think I expressed what I believe LWJ's response to being pushed will be in one of my fics. He will definitely be more concerned about his family, people he considers good and kind, are willing to ignore injustice when it is inconvenient. He will worry about them, try to get them on the right path, or question them about their actions, but he won't hate them.
LWJ is indeed human, but his character isn't the kind to hate or resent people. Even when he wa doggedly chasing WWX about his Cultivation, he was worrying about WWX's character and heart. That's just who he is.

I am one those people who tried to perceive that the Jiang's Family cared for him. Iv'e read fics about the yugmeng trio and beloved they all loved each other equally. It wasn't until I stumbled about fics and meta posts that detail their relationship in canon that is when my eyes opened. The thing was I think I knew the underlying issue of what the Jiang Family did was wrong but I never focused on that because I pitied WWX. I think I sound cruel but I wanted to believe WWX felt loved no matter how twisted because everyone had always been against him .🤔 Aside from Lan Wangii and the Wens. I felt urked not one person ever mentioned or highlighted WWX true character if WWX was in any other piece of media I guarantee friendship would have prevailed but it one person from the cave incident or the second siege genuinely apologized to him.
To a point in the least the Jiangs (minus Yu Ziyuan) cared for Wei Wuxian, not in the best ways given their own hang-ups but a large point is that Wei Wuxian cared more unconditionally for them then they did him, his love was never given equal reciprocation until Lan Wangji. Some of your family just isn't as loving as it could be, supportive, and are just as selfish as strangers would be.
Wei Wuxian as a person also knows how to downplay the treatment he faced due to his motto in life to choose to see the good given to him instead. It is a very kind and noble way to view life given so many would have given in to the cycle of abuse and hate if they had been in his position. As such he is very optimistic as a person and that's commendable especially with what he faced with the Jiangs. Lan Sizhui and Lan Wangji offer him comfort when they see the parallels to the servant from the extras, because Wei Wuxian's upbringing was in fact cruel and ostracizing despite him only having good will left.
He was loved by Jiang Yanli, but that love was also very sugar-coated by him since he did not expect even that and had been happy with what was given to him. It all made for a nice contrast in his early stay there since he was said to have been afraid to take more materialistic things at Lotus Pier than needed. But that trait still stayed in the sense emotionally as he never asked the Jiangs for more emotional support/love then they were willing to give. Lan Wangji knows this and why he is so open to showing his support to stand by Wei Wuxian time and again and why Wei Wuxian is awed by this each time, he had never had that before and had always been someone else's support. With Lan Wangji he is allowed to want and is given support and love even knowing he could stand by himself. But unconditional, freely given love is a massive gift to him that he had never been handed, even within the Lans themselves who he had least expected it from.
And you are right in any other typical xianxia, he would have had people flocking to him, but in MDZS. I think that's what makes Wei Wuxian so special, since he is such a bright person in a world that is cruel to them and he is still able to prevail even after having lost everything that was his and still being able to mature and find his own happiness.

I have seen many au mdzs focus centered fics with the idea that if one the big three of the sects either Lan or Nie found out about Wei Wuxian predicament they would have immediately gone all out to help which kind of baffles me because wasn't the killing of the children and elderly common over there in Ancient China and in canon they didn't care much when the killings of small sects took place ? I always thought that the only reason Lan Wangii kept his mouth shut in the first place was so if if he ever said anything regarding Wwx situation they would have ambushed him regardless of his innocence.
Like the idea 💡 of Wei Wuxian helping out the wens felt very progressive in thoughts that aligned with our modern day morals nowadays.
I hope I wasn't too harsh 😊 and I always 💕 reading your responses since youv'e always been very detailed with your thoughts and feelings.
Thank you for the compliment! Here are basically my thoughts on this:
So, I basically know nothing about this period of Chinese history, and I can’t really comment on things that did or did not happen in that time period and common attitudes towards them. However, that is not really what matters when we're talking about MDZS. If MXTX were an author writing 1000+ years ago for an audience of that time, it would be useful to understand the historical moral framework to better interpret her intentions and how both she and her audience would have viewed the morality in her novels.
But that is not the case. The idea of WWX helping out the Wens feels very progressive and aligned with modern-day morals because MXTX is a modern author writing for a modern audience. I'm sure that she entirely expects her audience to view her story through their natural modern moral lens, and that she crafted her story with that in mind. Furthermore, MDZS is not set in Ancient China, it’s set in MDZS’s version of Fantasy Ancient China, whose rules (including background moral framework) are what MXTX say they are.
(As a side note, while I don't think historical moral frameworks are as relevant to understanding MXTX's work, modern cultural distinctions are relevant. MXTX would also have been writing for her own culture, so there are nuances that those of us outside that culture -- including me -- would miss. This doesn't mean that we can't read and discuss this story, but we should be aware that we might be missing stuff and listen when people from that culture speak.)
However, in general, stories will usually establish their own moral frameworks, which will allow the audience to understand what the author is and is not giving moral approbation to. We can find this understanding through some amount of literary analysis.
This part got very long, so some helpful questions to consider for literary analysis (and how I applied that analysis) are after the Read More.
Useful questions to ask can include:
1. Are we supposed to trust the protagonist/point of view character(s) with moral authority?
It’s not always the case that we are supposed to ascribe moral authority to a story’s protagonist -- Humbert Humbert in Lolita is a famous example. Most of the time, though, the protagonist is meant to be a moral authority, just because that’s easier for an author. There’s a lot of work that goes into undermining the protagonist without undermining the story, and that’s not a technique suited to all stories.
So, are we suppose to consider Wei Wuxian a moral authority? Yes, we are.
Yes, there’s some unreliability in his narration -- but it’s pretty limited to his memory issues, things he can’t reasonably know and therefore makes assumptions about, and his unwillingness to dwell on his own hurts and who/what caused them. In general, his impulse is to do things that the audience would recognize as moral, including helping people in trouble even at cost to himself (Su She with the Waterborne Abyss, Mianmian in the Xuanwu cave, the juniors at Dafan Mountain), paying his debts (to the Jiang family, to Wen Ning and Wen Qing), and prioritizing what he considers to be the moral action over the action that might help him personally (refusing to go back on helping the Wens).
His morality furthermore remains consistent regardless of the situation. He wants to pay his debts to both the Jiangs and the Wens, even though they were on opposite sides of the war. He disapproves of mob justice whether it’s targeted at him or his enemy JGY.
Basically, textual indicators are meant to show that WWX is a moral person making moral choices. This doesn’t mean that he doesn’t make mistakes or that his morality can’t slip when he’s pushed too far (torture is considered morally bad, and he does that), but at his default, his impulse is to make moral choices.
All of this is meant to establish him as a moral authority to the audience, someone we ultimately trust to be in the moral right.
1.A. Does the protagonist have an opinion on the issue at hand?
Once the protagonist is established as someone whose morality the audience is meant to trust, you need to see if they have an opinion on the issue whose morality you’re evaluating. Generally, their opinion is what the author wants the audience to understand and agree with.
In this case, WWX very obviously sees helping the Wen remnants as the moral thing to do.
Perhaps more importantly, he consistently sees helping them as the moral thing to do. After his resurrection, there are parts of his life that he re-evaluates. He decides that he went too far during the Sunshot Campaign with the whole digging up dead bodies thing, he’s embarrassed at his past arrogant attitude, and he recognizes the perspective of the people whose loved ones he’s killed.
But he never looks back at helping the Wens and decides he was wrong to do it. He regrets what ended up happening, but he never thinks he should not have done what he could.
2. What other contextual factors might establish a moral framework?
If the protagonist can’t be trusted, or if you want the weight of more evidence, you can look at other tools the author uses to frame the morals of a situation.
2.A. Are there moral touchstones with an opinion?
Often stories will have some sort of touchstone that will help the audience calibrate morality. This can be something like religion, but it can also be a character who is widely recognized, in-universe, as a moral touchstone. The characters and the audience both know when something is right because this touchstone character says it is.
In MDZS, Lan Wangji is basically that moral touchstone. Pretty much everyone in the setting, from his enemies to his allies to random civilians, thinks he’s the most righteous cultivator they know of, who will only do the most morally correct things. (At least, that’s his reputation until he publicly sides with WWX, but by that point the audience has also recognized him as a moral touchstone and understood why siding with WWX does not undermine that.)
LWJ’s opinion on the issue is a little less clear before the First Siege of the Burial Mounds, considering he does not seem to have spoken up for the Wens or provided concrete help even after meeting them, but we still get some clues.
When LWJ finally leaves after the Yiling date, WWX basically says, “If you were in my position, you would be doing the same thing I am.” WWX trusts LWJ’s morality as much as anyone does (if not more), and he’s confident that LWJ would agree with him if he were in that position. LWJ doesn’t contradict him.
More clearly, though, LWJ ends up taking over WWX’s position in protecting the last Wen. Wen Yuan lived because the setting’s moral touchstone saved him.
2.B. What are the antagonists’ opinions?
As a corollary to the moral touchstone, it’s also relevant to consider what the antagonists think about the issue. Unless the antagonists are established as morally upright people who just happen to oppose the protagonist for other reasons, most of the time, what an antagonist thinks is good is something the audience is meant to think is bad, and vice versa.
Jin Guangshan is an antagonist. We are supposed to see him as selfish and immoral. He is in favor of killing the Wen remnants.
Jin Zixun is so bad that not even other antagonists (Su She, JGY) like him. He is also in favor of killing the Wen remnants.
Jiang Cheng has also been established as an antagonist by this point. He and WWX have spent most of the novel on opposing sides by the time we reach this point in the story. He leads the Siege.
Of the story’s other antagonists, the Wen Sect is already gone, and Su She and JGY are at best neutral but are likely some level of complicit in the Wen remnants’ deaths and the hatred towards them. They certainly do not stand up for the Wens.
The important thing about these antagonist attitudes is that they’re consistent. If there were mixed attitudes among the antagonists, then the situation would come across as more morally complex. Here, however, pretty much every bad guy is in favor, which is a sign to the audience that this is not, in fact, a morally complex issue. It’s just wrong.
And in terms of killing smaller sects -- I don’t think the text does indicate that no one cares when smaller sects get killed off. There are two instances I can recall of this happening, the first when the Wen sect is gearing up for war and the second when JGY frames some of his political opponents for the murder of his son and wipes them out in “revenge.” Killing off smaller sects is therefore not a neutral action, but only something the villains do.
2.C. Does the plot validate one moral position over another?
Authors frequently express their themes by having the plot reward one perspective and punish another. Note that when evaluating this, you do have to think about both genre and themes more generally (antagonists might still have good endings, so you might think about how that ending impacts the themes).
In this case, consider how the deaths of the Wen remnants are treated later on in the story. During the Second Siege of the Burial Mounds, the Wen remnants come back to help and protect WWX, Wen Ning, and Sizhui (also protecting everyone else in the process). They saved everyone there, despite the treatment they’d received. The moral characters (WWX, LWJ, the juniors) honor them, while everyone who participated in the First Siege is left to feel awkward about having been saved by those they murdered.
WWX’s protection of the Wen remnants mattered. His love and care for them mattered. They came back to return that love and care for and protect him in turn. The plot validates his choice by having it return meaningful consequences, and it punishes the mob who killed (or approved of killing) the Wen remnants by showing them that they were not straightforwardly in the right.
--
There are more questions you can ask to try to identify a story’s moral framework when you’re not sure what it’s supposed to be, but these are a start.
Basically, the story’s message is that WWX was morally correct in helping the Wens. In terms of fix-it fics, this means that people also want other sympathetic characters (Lan Xichen, Nie Mingjue) to make moral choices when given better information. There’s also probably some idealism in there, in wanting leaders like Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue to act morally rather than amorally or immorally (by letting innocent people die, even if not actively killing them), because we generally want our leaders to be moral people. It’s not unreasonable to think that, given the story’s established moral framework, LXC and NMJ might have chosen to help if they had all the information.
And we are, in fact, meant to determine all of this using our modern moral frameworks. MXTX is a modern author writing for a modern audience, so that is the perspective we are expected to bring.

WWX in my opinion had always been someone who had no one to rely on. Everyone always seen WWX as someone not Human because he is too amazing. What especially irritated me was JYL thinking nothing can bring WWX down because he is always smiling, and how I think in general the rest of the world saw him as.... he so capable too beautiful that nothing can bring him down. Having such a toxic mindset so many have regarding WWX. I find it incredibly sad 😭 not one person held out their hand to him to even try until Lan Wangii did later on in his life.
It's a horrible combination of people seeing WWX as less than a person and more than a person at the same time; either he's "just a servant" and should just take anything thrown at him (like a living, breathing punching bag!) or he's the all-powerful Yiling Patriarch and should be able to handle everything all on his own. No one acknowledges that he's a person with limits who needs support and assistance until LWJ. It really is just so depressing. Get this man a support structure, please!

Sadly not everyone was supportive of Wangii’s new style.  Inspired by @yizhanforeversworld fabulous post and stuff I saw on twitter. I was finally motivated to try making blended and multiple gifs.  I’m just enjoying the idea of an au where Wangji just shows up looking like that.

The Untamed, episode 46 - watching notes
Full disclosure: I'm not in a particularly good mood today. Have you seen that "no productivity. Only guild." Meme flying around? That's me today :|
Hopefully this will distract me (though distraction was the problem in the first place 🙈)
I apologise for any typos you'll finde in this post 😅
To recap, the last thing I learned was that apparently, Jiggy married his own sister because Jin Guangshan was a scumbag who raped more women than he could possibly remember
I was told by several people that this episode is their favourite. No pressures or anything :D
The way someone is dragging up Jiggy's secrets has a lot of poetic justice to it. Everyone is outraged and gossiping. Consensus is reached quickly. Kinda makes me feel that that someone (who probably also wrote the letter to jgy) knows exactly how to use the sect world's worst qualities as a weapon
Yao what's-his-name, resident gossip queen, at it again
Don't look at me my memory is as bad as wwx when it comes to names :D
I was about to write who is Lianfang Zum again and then I remembered that it's jiggy's honorary title. See what I mean? ^^
What does it say about me that my heart makes a leap when I simply see wwx leaning close to lwj to whisper to him? 😅 I'll probably die reading the novel, that's what that says
Oh so it was the maid who sent the letter
Come on Wei Wuxian! That was cruel
Yeah Yao what's-his-name, why would you need to know the identity of who ever is behind this? It's not like you've ever been deceived before!
What's... with that bracelet?
I love it how everyone looks positively startled when Lan Wangji says something unprompted :D
Wait ... Zwei Jun is in his hands? Shit, i don't remeber what happened there. Where did Xichen go again? 😬
I'm so confused right now 🙈 I can't watch and read the subtitles and type
Okay, watched the whole conversation again, now I'm following
I reiterate my earlier statement that whoever is pulling the strings here knows exactly what strings to pull to get the clans to act
Great, another mob 🙄
Loooool
NOW you want his help? 😂
Sure, as soon as he can serve YOU with his "evil tricks", that's okay!
You can see how much wwx changed because he does not hold their hypocrisy to their faces. He mostly seemed tired of it
And Jiang Cheng just realised that wwx might indeed not be responsible for Jiang Yanli's death, didn't he? He's almost stunned 🥺
Or is BEAUTIFUL to see Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji move in such unity! 😭
Oh ... those are the graves of his foster parents, right? :(
And Yanli ... oh God I forgot about Yanli 🥺
I'm crying again. Nothing on this show will ever hit as hard to me as the Yunmeng siblings' fate
I couldn't help myself, I legitimately just stroked my laptop screen where Yanli's plate was 🥺
So many conflicting emotions
Thanks to a friendly anon, I know that these three bows together are marriage thing! 😭😭😭
Tumblr media
So yeah, they're married now. I dont make the rules :')
Somehow, this feels like them asking wwx's foster family's blessing
And now I'm imagining Shijie smiling back at them gently and I'm crying 🥺
And by God, I love lwj's gentle teasing :')
This whole scene, he's so soft! 😭
And it think that Wei Wuxian probably thought that he'd never get to step into Lotus Pier again. But here, he can finally say his goodbyes to his Shijie properly. He can heal! 🖤
And again, I cannot stress enough how wonderful that is! And how rare and precious in a show like this. So often character's get put through unimaginable trauma, but they either brush it off no problem or the show/movie ends immediately after the main action and you are left to imagine the number it did on the character's psyche. There are so rarely fantasy shows that really dive into the emotional fallout the plot has on their characters and then give them time to heal. Thus show does both and I'm so goddamn overjoyed my it!
Come to think of it, it reminds me of a very good hurt/comfort fic 🤷‍♀️
Jiang Cheng pleae, fir once, try not to be angry immediately when you're hurting :(
He still takes special offence that lwj is there. Makes me wonder if he still feels like wwx chooses lwj over the Jiang sect and is still hurt by it 😔 (note that at the same time, he reminds wwx that he's very much not a member of the Jiang clan anymore. God, the man has not worked through his own feelings ...)
For once, as much as I love it when lwj defends wwx (especially when it's not against any physical harm, but because he doesn't want wwx to be hurt emotionally) I think him interfering with this particular conflict does not help
Okay sorry, but no! lotus pier was not destroyed because wwx saved lwj in that cave. That was just an excuse for the Wen sect. They would have come eventually anyway
Ohhh
So there's my answer
He's still hurt because he feels wwx chooses anyone else over his family, which is to say him
And he probably can't understand because their positions are so different. The (future) sect leader and the son of a (dead) servant and a rogue cultivator who never felt quite like he belonged 😔
It's so goddamn tragic how much between these two was destroyed simply because they have such a different status in society and could never quite understand each other's perspective
And again, wwx just takes it 💔
Until, that is, lwj's honour gets besmirched
Don't fight in front of Shijie 🥺
Jiang Cheng's every action screams that he still loves his brother and that amidst all that pain for his lost family, is also deep betrayal and grieve for the brother he thought he could always count on 🥺💔
Tumblr media
Can we appreciate for a second how much this shot tells us? From Jiang Cheng's angry desperation, to Wei Wuxian's quite acceptance of his rage (which must be so confusing to Jiang Cheng and probably hurt him even more. Because fighting is always how these two resolved their issues!) to Lan Wangji who is in full on protective mode (which I find more than heartwarming, but still think probably isn't helpful rn)
He ... what?
I still don't quite understand when exactly wwx's lack of golden core shows. Why does he have a nosebleed here?
What?
Oh!
Wen Ning 😱
I get what he wants to do!
Have we ever seen him this calm and determined before?
Abd they understand 😱😱😱
The look on all of their faces! Shiiiiit
I'm crying again
Oh wangii is crying 🥺
Wen Quing 💔💔💔 I'm crying even harder just looking at her. I've MISSED her 🥺
Lan Zhan your FACE!! 😭
The way he's looking at wwx in his arms, as if he's seeing him fir the first time
And by god, I can only imagine what he must be thinking
He must be reevaluation every single interaction they had since wwx started down the path of demonic cultivation 😭
I'm a bit in awe of Wen Ning here and how much he must have been holding in. That's the steadiest and most confident he's ever been
Oh Jiang cheng 💔
Tumblr media
That looks like a man whose entire world has just been shaken to its core
And Lan Wangji is crying so much 🥺
God I hope he doesn't blame himself even more 🥺
Aaaaaaahhhh, so that is why he wouldn't just carry the sword for appearance sake and why he just had a nosebleed!
Jiang Cheng probably needs about a month to process all that :/
And therapy ...
Aaaaaaahhhh! The boat scene! I've seen gifs! 😍😍😍
Tumblr media
A penny for Lan Wangji's thoughts ...
Oh I'm so so so so glad that Wen Ning gets to say thank you to the man who raised his ... cousin (?) :')
Oh god we get to see!!!!
Oh little a Yuan 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I wonder now, did Lan Qiren know who the child was that his nephew suddenly brought back to cloud recess?
I'm glad that we all learned from this that keeping secrets from the people we love, especially secrets that concern them personally, will eventually come back to bide us in the ass. Than you for delivering that important lesson, wen Ning!
Which reminds me that I hope they eventually tell wwx that they know 😬
I swear to god, one of these days I will melt from the gentleness in lan Wangji's gaze :')
Shit. He had to be awake? 😳
You can pinpoint the moment Lan Wangji's heart breaks for all the suffering wwx endured and how close he came to loosing him even then 🥺
Waking like that in you lovers arms in the middle of a lotus pond - that's the dream *sighs* (minus the passing out bit)
It's weirdly cute that wwx thinks that it's Jiang Cheng's insults that have lwj so upset 😅
Oh GOOOOD ...
I can't
Tumblr media
The moment Yanli's themes started to play and she appeared I started to bawl 😭😭😭
And he's sharing the lotus pods with them ... oh please, lwj, please understand what he's saying. That's his pove language! His sister's food was how he received love and right now he passes it on to you! Please, please understand it! 🥺
Oh lwj, don't 🙈
Awwwwww ....
He's breaking the rules for you!!! Just to make you smile!!! 😭😭
And holy shit look at their expressions 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media
By now you should know that he's willing to break the rules for you :')
And poor third wheel Wen Ning 😂
Tumblr media
Now there are glittering butterflies???
Do they have some kind of romantic aesthetic bingo going on in this episode???
Oh okay, messenger butterflies
Tumblr media
Please appreciate wwx almost climbing into lan Wangji's lab in excitement :D
Thay scene transition was pretty af!
Hey! Why do they bully wen Ning? 😤
Tumblr media
*shakes wwx by the shoulders* DO YOU GET THAT HE LOVES YOU NOW???
Huh, this episode was a roller coaster. you guys did NOT exaggerate! I loved it to pieces. I'm floored once more by all the actor's performances. Wen Ning revealed a lot about his character, Jiang Cheng broke my heart, Lan Wangji made it melt and Shijie is still able to make me bawl in an instant. But ... I'm not left with a bitter feeling. Sure, jiang Cheng and wei Wuxian havebt reconciled, but the truth is the first step to even have that possibility. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji are both healing and whatever happens in the last 4 (4!!!😭) episodes, I'm not dreading it that much right now. I feel like we're climbing upwards :)
@sweetlittlevampire @fandom-glazed @elenirlachlagos @allhailthedramallama @luckymoony @kyrrahbird @i-love-him-on-purpose thank you guys for staying with me for this crazy ride 💙🖤💙
Also one last thing: please don't tell me what happens differently in the novel in any given scene. I am still reading it (about half way through rn) and I'd like to still be surprised by stuff like first kisses and love confessions 💙🖤
I should have put something like this at the end before, but I always forgot. That's on me 😅 so don't feel bad, if you've shared something before :)

(Bad Lans!AU) With either a lifetime of imprisonment and the death of his family or a small sacrifice standing before him, for the sake of the war effort WWX kills himself at a critical moment to destabilize LWJ and give everyone a chance to escape. It's enough for LWJ to pardon the rebels, granting WWX's dying wish. But 13 years and many failures later, WWX wakes up in the body of a Jin disciple facing LWJ. The punishment was regular sacrifices fr/the clans to revive WWX. He's trapped again...
What if Wei Wuxian kills himself in order to distract Lan Wangji in the midst of battle? He breaks away from the formation he had with his brother to rush to Wei Wuxian’s side, leaving both of them open to attack. Lan Wangji, heavily injured, grabs Wei Wuxian’s body and flees while the rebel cultivation sects slaughter his clan.
Lan Wangji, hidden away in the Burial Mounds, turns to demonic cultivation to revive his husband.

I feel icky whenever people ship WWX or Lan Wangii with anyone else. It feel weird... because I am to used shipping the main character s from others fandoms because it fits like a black dress. But if I see on the tags they have a WWX x Oc or some other nonsense like if Lan Wangii doesn't fall in love with WWX. I immediately clock out because their relationship is to perfect. In fact out of the 3 novel s MXTX published MDZS main couple got to be my favorite because of how far they came in their relationship.
Yeah, it is impossible to ship WWX or LWJ with anyone else. There's just something about them that simply doesn't work with anyone else.

I'mma be real honest with you I find WWX dynamic with JC more interesting than Lan Wangii. Lan Wangii a good supportive husband and I love reading fics for Wangxian but I wished fic authors would dive deeper in JC and WWX relationship that formed in canon and not have their brain be muddled with fanon JC.
I feel like WWX and Jiang Cheng realtionship to be twisted sense of love and possession on JC part not WWX obviously. Their relationship pretty dark in canon ? And honestly the one trait I'm actually happy for JC was he didn't develop into wanting WWX body to be included in his list as well? 😅 They were raised as brothers tell me if WWX was more distant from JC from the beginning would the disaster struck as hard?
I admit this is why the fallout of their friendship in canon is so interesting for me personally, the ugly part of it is very realistic and MXTX did not shy away from the fact that Jiang Cheng was not good at all for who Wei Wuxian was a as a person (i.e him being one who was naturally kind, willing to forgive to remember the happy things done for him and loyal. I think this is why Lan Wangji balances him out since he is willing to be the one to step up to let the forgiveness part not overstep into letting Wei Wuxian be walked over again by Jiang Cheng specifically).
Now if there was a romantic aspect ever, I do think it would make Jiang Cheng 10x more disgusting then he already is. Along with a thankfully unexplored dynamic of Wei Wuxian ever being sexualized. I think it also helps to explore that any sort of relationship even platonic ones, can be unsalvageably awful despite caring (more so on one parties side) and it can come from anyone who has that much of their own self-hate and selfishness they project it on the ones who are holding a hand out.
I don't think it would have been in Wei Wuxian's nature to stay distant to anyone he is in close proximity with, and unfortunately, Jiang Cheng had been the one for him to meet first as his first significant friendship. In that way it was just as inevitable as his love for Lan Wangji was. Theirs just isn't the happy end that Wangxian was able to achieve as is realistic with growing and distancing relationships.
As for my interest in it, I can say I am far more of a sucker for the happy end that Wei Wuxian is able to achieve then the pain he was put through before with the Jiangs.

(Unstable Lans!AU) So I know about the JFM and WWX as CSSR2.0 au, but what about LWJ using A-Yuan as a WWX 2.0? They both have grey eyes~
This implies so many things and NONE of them are good.
@reallygrossmdzsthoughts I think this one is for you
