On contrary to his brother, Nines knew how to behave around Humans.

A very belated gift to @glass-noodle for being a very nice person who pointed me towards DBH comics and art (fuel to my current obsession). Your Merman AU gave me some inspiration.

It's been ages since I've done anything digitally, from sketch to finish. Got a brand new tablet last Christmas (2022), which I didn't use. Got Clip Paint which, also, hasn't been touched. It's my first digital drawing since approximately 3-4 years. Last posted thing is... 2016. Yeah.

It's been a rough year, but I hope that 2024 will be better for everyone!

imagine a scenario where Robotnik is seriously injured and is admitted to the hospital, and stone doesn't understand where the doctor has gone, and is hostile towards any other agent that fed him, how was robotnik going to solve this?

This would be difficult on both ends - Robotnik doesn't allow anyone in his lab without his permission (which he never gives) and Stone will be VERY stressed if his mate is suddenly missing.

The badniks are capable of making sure Stone is fed in Robotnik’s absence, but Stone probably wouldn't want to eat if he doesn't know where Robotnik is. He would spend a lot of time swimming in frantic circles in his tank, his mind going to the worst possible places.

Fortunately, Robotnik can connect to his badniks to talk to Stone and calm him down by explaining that yes, he broke his leg, no, he doesn't want to talk about how, and yes, he'll be back very soon because this hospital staff has NO idea what they're doing.

Ultimately Robotnik would come back to the lab asap - with or without clearance from the hospital - both because he misses his lab, and although he won't admit it outright, he misses his mate even more.

I'm going to my parents house this week and I wanna try (heavily underline the word 'try') writing some Mungrove. 

The question is WHAT I write cuz I have so many AUs but they have the same. fucking. plot.

We have :

Merman AU where Billy and Eddie knew each other since little, but Eddie got captured by the lab at some point. He got away during the massacre and has been living with uncle Wayne since then. They meet again when Billy moves in Hawkins.

Lab Lovers AU where Billy and Eddie are from the lab (5 and 6, cuz not watching the show gives me the liberty to do whatever I want with canon) and got away during the massacre (or with 8 jury is still on that one). They get separated when they find their biological families and meet once again in 1985, when Billy moves to Hawkins (This one also have : Billy joining the Hellfire Club's table from the start ; Billy and Max actually being close siblings; so much fucking codependency they literally can't survive without each other)

Childhood Friends AU where Eddie has been living with his father in California up to age 13 until he had to move with his uncle. They were best friends (and their first kiss but shhh). Both with shitty fathers, one got away while the other had to stay. Two boys, one faithful promise that keeps the hope burning while also slowly killing it. What happens when Billy moves in Hawkins and meets Eddie again? (I have two ideas for the childhood friends AU, but the other one I plan to write regardless of whether or not I do this one)

Soulmates AU where when your soulmate dies, you die. This one also features Steddie, but it will be later on (the story focuses more on Billy and Eddie's relationship up to the moment Billy dies and Eddie doesn't because he does have another soulmate keeping him alive). Billy is really shitty in this one (in the others I'm making him more tolerable). No, it is not Harringroveson. Eddie is the only one with two soulmates.

Lowkey I wanna do them all, but again : they have the same plot. I guess I could say the soulmate one is a little different, mostly because of the ending, but other than that they kinda go the same way yk? I just love the idea of Eddie suffering after Billy dies.

Yeah they are all angsty and I can 100% guarantee you that Billy keeps dying at the mall. But there's fluff! In some of them. At the beginning. Depends on AU. I love you guys. Please don't kill me.

Idea #39

The Fentons were a family of merciless mer hunters.

But when Jack Fenton found a barely-a-year-old, white haired, black scaled, green eyed guppy washed up on their private beach, he couldn’t just leave the little guy to probably get eaten alive by seagulls. He’d always had a soft spot for kids.

He somehow convinced Maddie to let him keep it, as long as he was responsible for it. Jack had to feed it, clean it and it’s tank, train it, make sure it didn’t try to eat people, entertain it, the normal things you have to do to take care of a pet. Sure Maddie was the one that made sure it was fed most of the time since Jack forgot, but he did all the other things! He even gave him a name, Danny.

They actually got to learn a lot about merfolk biology taking care of him.

Over time the pair of scientists grew more and more attached to the little baby mer in their lab. He was practically a son to them. He was so sweet and cute, who wouldn’t love him instantly!

They taught him how to talk(he had such an adorable voice!), they taught him about the outside world(his eyes always sparkled with curiosity and wonder when listening to their stories).

When an old mer hunting friend came over to visit, he told them to be careful, that the creature could be using its siren powers to make them love it. They assured him that Danny’s powers(if he had any) were disabled by the small and unobtrusive cuff around his wrist.

They arranged for a little boy Danny’s age to come for a playdate, since he always seemed so lonely by himself in his artificial habitat. That young boy was named Tucker Foley, and the two hit it off instantly. Playing in the shallow area of Danny’s ‘exhibit’ with beach balls and plastic boats.

More time passed and Danny grew, his aquarium growing along with him.

Sometimes other hunter and scientist friends of the Fentons would come see the lab, and they would see a teenage merman in a comfortable environment and not on an examination table.

The parents wanted to see their boy free and happy, so they released him into the ocean. It wasn’t until later that they realized they never prepared him for the outside world, they never taught him how to hunt for himself, to avoid fishing nets, he might get seriously hurt or even die out there because they were ‘so eager to get rid of him’.

One of their worst fears were confirmed when they found him washed up on their beach bleeding from his tail, abdomen, and arm, unconscious.

Mer au combined with “Danny has always been lab rat” au, and wholesome up until the plot.

“I also just want Jack to invent a ghost(mer) treat and make Danny do tricks for it.” -that applies to this as well. Also I had the idea for that when eating a soft peppermint for the first time in forever.

SPOILER FOR A GLITCH IN TIME!

I recently rewatched the endings of the anime "Durarara!!" and I was thinking that so many versions of Danny popped up throughout the years, it is time for a Danno-tower.

I limited myself to 15 versions and a few other AUs sprinkled here and there because 1) this artwork is already long enough and 2) there are so many AUs and different designs I would need much more time to draw them all.

MER-LOVE, 1.1 ft. reo, isagi, bachira, chigiri, nagi

REQUEST: “Hi hi!! I decided to take you up on your offer and request a part two to the Mer-love fic. This time can you add in reo and what would they do if researcher!reader brought someone along with them, like a co-worker and they think it’s reader’s partner?”

NOTES: jealousy hcs are always fun to write, thanks for requesting!! also to the people not interested in this au, don’t worry i’ll be posting other stuff soon anyway. i just want to get people’s requests finished & completed before i start writing my own ideas again <3

on occasion, you see REO coming to drag nagi off your boat if he overstays his welcome there, or if he thinks the lazy bastard needs a swim break before he dries out in the sun. you don’t mind him, he’s very polite and as a first impression; you would say he’s a solid guy. the type you can rely on.

the merman initially presents himself as the epitome of confidence and elegance, but as you get to know him better, his playful and more down-to-earth nature shines through. while there’s not necessarily a huge gap between the two, he definitely felt like he was trying to keep up appearances as the former personality. you suppose it’s a good thing he came out of his shell, because he visits you a lot nowadays! sometimes, you think even a bit too often. he usually comes with a multitude of gifts in his arms: stuff like pearls and any other valuable treasures from the ocean depths, etc.

like isagi, he willingly engages in conversation and shows a genuine interest in your research (particularly the financial aspects…) so that’s definitely a plus. it’s very sweet of him regardless, so being a charmer must just be part of his personality.

as the days pass, your boat becomes a second home for not just one, but two mermen—reo and the ever-present nagi, albeit with varying levels of enthusiasm for most things. their banter is oddly nostalgic, it’s like your back at the lab, chatting with the colleagues who don’t piss you off (it gets a bit lonely without the mermaids to talk to).

unbeknownst to you however, during those quiet moments when nagi drifts off to sleep and the conversation wanes, reo's attention shifts to you. as he observes your funny mannerisms and habits, he can't help but find them endearing. from your animated hand gestures, to the way you absentmindedly twirl a strand of hair, every detail captures his attention and leaves him quite captivated.

all in all, reo’s quite the sweetheart once you’re closer to him! let’s hope it’ll last.

i imagine that you’d bring someone who you’d trust to keep this a secret from the higher ups, as well as a close friend of yours. so, what you consider innocent gestures like leaning over their shoulder, sitting together while eating, look quite misleading from a mermaid’s perspective. (especially if their love language was physical touch/in mermaid society or whatever, you’re only doing those types of things with your lover…)

REO would be mortified at the sight of them. who is this person? why the hell did they come along with you? why are you talking to them?? please (and i stress this) don’t tease him by saying, “oh, haha, they’re my s/o” as a joke, he would actually rather die. unlike the others, he seems openly irritated with your friend’s presence and isn’t scared to voice it. to the point your colleague is like ‘wtf did you tell this guy about me’.

ISAGI is the most ‘normal’, rationalising that they’re probably just a coworker that you know. he’d only get antsy if your partner decides to get a little too close to you. even as chill and unassuming as he may be, isagi’s still got a pretty nasty ego on him. may or may not curse your coworker’s entire generation for the rest of eternity.

BACHIRA would be friendly at first, acting all smiles and being his usual chatty self. but if your coworker decides to try anything the merman deems too…unprofessional, they’ve got another thing coming for them. he’ll snap at their fingers, or tear them off. jk, but he wouldn’t be thrilled by it for sure. kinda just sits on a rock, lost in his own thoughts for a while.

CHIGIRI would pretend not to care at first, but it’s obvious by the glares he throws their way and the way his sarcasm seems to triple when talking to them that he doesn’t like them. seriously, why this person? he simply tries to get your attention on him at first, until that doesn’t work and he decides to ‘accidentally’ chuck water onto their face.

NAGI couldn’t care less at first, key word: at first. but then you’re paying them more attention that you do him and his brain subconsciously makes up excuses to why he doesn’t like them, granted some of these could be plausible but others are just straight up mean. their voice is so grating he can’t sleep, their figure is blocking the sunlight shining on him, among other things. get them off your boat. now >:(

Author Notes: Happy MerMay Genshin! This fic happened kind of spontaneously but I had a lot of fun writing it! Depending on how well it's received and what I feel like there may end up being a part two. I listened to "Black Sea" by Natasha Blume while writing this fic and I'm not gonna lie, this fic did not turn out how it was originally slated to. But I'm fairly happy with it. Dottore's merman fish base was a betta fish. Reader is gender-neutral. I hope you enjoy!

I sat just outside the tank, watching the mysterious merman swim to and fro. Writing impossibly difficult equations with a sharpie on the glass walls of his tank as he continued on about his work and ignored me just like he always did.

According to some of the Fatui scientists who’d occasionally pass by to gossip and puzzle about the strange things he wrote, this odd man had once been the infamous Dottore. The second of the harbingers that worked for the Tsaritsa herself. But then something had gone horribly wrong in an experiment, and he’d turned into this. 

An exotic merman that looked more like something out of a fairy tale than a horrific science accident. But then, fairy tales often served as warnings of some sort, didn’t they?

Either way, his mistake had given some of his less-than-loyal lackeys the chance they needed. 

He’d been shoved into a tank and presented to the Tsaritsa as a centerpiece for her viewing pleasure. After that, each of them had become heads of the Fatui’s research labs.

Their betrayal had not been taken lightly, though, and at least three of them had been dragged into his tank and murdered when they’d come by to feed him. 

That was why they had hired an outsider to feed and care for the Harbinger, turned merman by his own crazed experiments. An outsider who was, namely, me.

Though I’d initially been terrified of the man, he was hardly frightening now. As long as I didn’t bug him when I gave him his food and kept his tank clean, he largely ignored me. Well, unless he wanted something for his work that continued even now within his tank.

Because despite the fact that he never spoke and had exchanged his legs for fins, Dottore remained intelligent. The trouble was, no one could truly understand what he was working on. The scientists only ever said that, from what they could interpret, it was groundbreaking.

But that wasn’t the only way my charge showed off his cleverness.

Whenever one of the few remaining scientists who’d been party to his betrayal came by to gloat about their victory or scowl at his writings that even they couldn’t understand, there was risk.

Almost inevitably, he would find a way to lure them closer and somehow, without any words, convince them to open the tank despite the risks they knew he posed.

Because while Dottore didn’t seem to kill without reason, he did kill for revenge. 

He’d never offered to harm me, but maybe that was because I served a purpose. After all, I was the only person who was willing to take care of his tank and feed him now.

Even the other Harbingers didn’t come by anymore, and the Tsaritsa had long since abandoned her ‘pet.’

He swirled through the water, his long, brilliantly blue tail fins spiraling around him like silk robes as he twisted. Looking over towards where I sat. 

I straightened slightly, surprised that my presence was even being acknowledged by the usually uninterested man, and, after a brief moment, he abandoned his pen. Letting it drop from his long fingers and drift to the bottom of the tank before he swam towards me. 

He stopped just short of the wall, a smile curving across his face, before he reached out with both hands. Pressing his tapered fingertips to the pristine glass that created a wall between us.

Curious, I mirrored his motions, placing my own fingertips on the glass right over where his rested. My eyes widened as he proceeded to flatten his entire hand on the glass, spreading his fingers as I, for reasons that even I didn’t understand, did the same.

It was like he was trying to communicate something to me, despite the fact that our interactions up until now had largely been limited to him pointing at whatever he wanted or scowling at me when I cleaned his tank.

He was the first to pull away, pulling one hand away to point up towards the top of the tank, the only place the water could be accessed from. I hesitated, realizing that the only other people I'd ever seen him direct to that location had been his would-be victims, whom I’d always only barely managed to stop.

I had been up there numerous times to toss his food or whatever item he’d requested by imperiously pointing at in, but I’d never done so simply to meet with him.

My fingers slid down the glass slightly, a frown creeping onto my face as my fingertips came to rest just over his palm, “If you try to drown me, I’m quitting.”

My words had only been muttered, but judging from the smile, devoid of kindness, that spread across his face, he had heard them and was pleased.

I stepped away from the glass, my gaze staying on him, floating with only a twitch of his finned tail, until I at last turned to mount the metal staircase that led to the tank’s top.

  I stepped up lightly, watching as he swam upwards, following my ascent in a far more fluid fashion as he glided silently through the water.

My steps had been unhesitating, but I paused as I reached towards the button that would lift the ceiling of the tank off. It was the only thing separating me from the merman who waited just below it. 

He would be furious if I aborted now, but that wasn’t my concern at the moment. My only worry at the moment would be what he might do if I did open the tank.

Would he attack and drown me? I had no clue how strong he actually was, but judging from his success rate thus far, I doubted I could get away from him.

The scientists he’d drowned were all members of the Fatui. Trained to serve that Tsaritsa in whatever way she needed.

 I wasn’t. I had no training or skills to assist me should he try to hurt me.

And yet I found myself pressing the button and watching as the machines activated even as I maintained a reasonably safe distance. I would listen to him, I was curious after all. But I also wouldn’t make it easy for him to attack me.

The sounds of metal sliding against metal filled the air as the tank's lid was slowly lifted off and the seal that held it to the tank’s thick glass walls burst.

Sure enough, there he was. Just under the surface of the water and looking directly up at me like he wasn’t surprised in the slightest that I’d done just as he’d wished. But up until now, I suppose I’d seemed totally obedient to his whims from his perspective. Well, except for when I would save his would-be victims from his machinations. And even that never seemed to really upset him. Rather, he’d always seemed more amused as he eyed the careful distance I kept between us. 

With a mere twitch of his tail, he surfaced, and I watched as he did something new. Something I’d never seen him do before, even when he was tempting foolish scientists closer.

He spoke.

“I always knew you were far more clever than most of the others here.” My eyes widened at the sound of his smooth voice. Wholly unfamiliar to my ears but strangely relaxing.

I shifted, still keeping my distance even though it was almost instinctive to step closer to him. I was curious, but cautious. And now that I was here, listening to the previously silent merman, I would play the fool and hear him out, “What do you want?

He drifted closer, either pushed by the water or by his own motions; I didn’t know which since my attention was on the single word that left his mouth as he lifted the mask from his face, revealing bright red eyes that I’d never seen before, “Out.”

They get to cuddle/sleep together a lot actually! Robotnik does sleep in the lab, usually just falling asleep wherever he's working, and since he's usually working with Stone, it's not strange for him to pass out partially submerged in water. (He's always wearing his wetsuit under his clothes, so it's pretty comfortable.) Stone is aggressively cuddly, so Robotnik usually doesn't have much say in the matter. He secretly likes it.

They usually wind up in some weird position with Robotnik being crushed. The downsides of having a merman bf ƪ(ツ)∫

Azushin Merman AU Caruki Short Story

Ruki slips a sigh out towards the warmth of the water. The reeking scent of roses and lilacs tinting the large bathroom was paradies not even Kim K could earn herself easily. It had to been two hours in this water basking under dimmed lights and aura of a candles' flickering flame.

This was a first from Carla, probably the nicest he's been to this merman within four weeks. The harsh tips of blades and marks from being cuffed in a chair with no legs to kick with was horrible, the scratches and bruises are what remain to show Ruki's survival through them. Even though this bath was granted, it wasn't as a reward- Like that would ever happen.

Because of how sensitive and fragile mystical creatures of the sea can be, Carla took the time to make sure Ruki would heal faster than normal, which seemed to be working accordingly. Splashing gently and toying with the petals that floated on the surface, how blind could this male be? Nothing felt like home just because Ruki was out of water in a damn tank, he's well aware of that nothing given can be taken as a replacement.

Considering the freedom being provided one day at a time, barely, he's not a free man at the surface like he is in the waters. Shin and Carla still were the dominant figures, nothing more nor less would change. Huffing at the thought left alone, Ruki sinks further in the tub with a head tilting back.

As the door opened, it's only Carla who peeks in. "Are you feeling better?" He asked, straigthfowardly.

"Barely," Ruki replied, purposely splashing water onto the floor knowing he won't be the one cleaning it. "You think pampering me will get me to cooperate with you?"

"Do not make it as more challenging than it must be, you're lucky your probability of death is slim."

Ruki smirks at that, interested. "You know if you killed me you'd me filthy rich, why not go for it?"

Carla didn't have time to talk, he had more lab work to do with Ruki so he didn't want this creature stinking the bathroom any further. Coming over, he casually scans and eyes Ruki.

"You're enjoying yourself too much, Mukami."

"So stop me, I won't get mad."

Only golden eye squint, staring a bit too much at the merman's tail. "You have scars and tears along that thing, submerge it underwater immediately."

"Hooh?" Ruki cocks. "Is that why you added pink salt to the water? For me to burn away my destroyed flesh and scales?"

"Unless you want to be under medication again to numb you up, then you shall listen to what I'm demanding from you."

It's really funny, it is the joke of the hour. Ruki stares with a smug look, it's making Carla want to kill himself already. As expected, a man has to do the labor himself, even when not instructed to.

With now ten minutes further into the bath, Carla wasn't expecting to be washing Ruki's tail fin for a good while, by force thanks to himself. Now he understands why these creatures are a pain to capture, the sass is high on the raidar. The change in who had control was impressive, since Ruki didn't have to do anything major to make Carla sit in a stool with his tail in his lap.

"Are those probability changes increasing?" Ruki taunts.

Silent, Carla makes eye contact, "Perhaps."

Child's fucking play. This is just mocking Carla at this point, liking getting a black women on her knees to scrub the floor queen. This is very insulting. The water was still clear, though would fog as time passed.

Hey I'm attached to this side AU with da overseas AU as reference. So I'm going to go do some world building!

But first of all this world building is not connected safe waves at all! Safe waves is completely separate AU and was made not using the sun and moon show as a base (although some similarities do exist).

You could also see this is a world building for @artoutoftheblue's overseas and other AUs using overseas as inspiration. but those are not my AUs, I'm just going to add some world building to them so they all can fit better as a universal world.

So at some point in time humans decided they were going to mess with genetics and started making mermaids. Starting with the overseas KC, foxy, and others. These merman were kept in closed off oceans or large aquariums as they were still technically under experimentation. Seeing how well the man-made creations lived and behaved. But as you see thers creatures got bigger they were harder and harder to keep from the public eye. Eventually either through passerby drivers or by Google camera, rumors of these giant beasts spread around. Eventually a believer group turned into an actual research / rescue group. This group defended the mers and demanded that They should be released. Whatever government they had agreed with them. The lab of course did not agree with this but they kept their mouth shut.

At this point there are two groups The lab group and the research group.

Most of the Mers are either slowly released or release at once. Unbeknownst to the lab group The mers were parthenogenesis (able to create eggs without a partner) and therefore the Mers started to reproduce. Also many of the mers were able to grow too larger sizes due to the available space.

This information makes me wish to explain the world. Mers that could be up to 80 ft need a proper world or that is possible. The world is of course close to the Earth but different. This world is an ocean planet. Having around 89 percent of water instead of Earth's 71. The waters also can be much deeper and yet still create reef like structures. Making what I'm going to call deep reefs.

There are still standard reefs but deep reefs stand where Earths Twilight zone begins. It is then that the waters can go deeper and you find places that are similar to Earth's ocean floor that you can regularly see in documentaries. This extra zone of course is a place that still receives light. That I'm calling the night light zone. This is where most mer live. Is it still has a finite resources to hold such colorful animals without suffocating in the abyss that is below the Twilight zone Which still exists in name, But is now beneath this night light zone.

Given the fact that deep reefs exist It also means the Sun on this planet is a bit stronger. Meaning that the surface is actually extremely hot. But I am not going to concern myself trying to figure out the logistics of how human like aliens even exist on such a surface.

Back to the history. The research group of course tried to keep the mers protected. The lab group still wanted to do many of their experiments. Often either creating mer in the lab again or capturing the now a wild born mer to f### around with. This option of course is what happens to OS blood moon. Also due to the fact that Mers are now known to the public eye their begins to be trophy hunters (This part of the lore I'm digging into @synthcoyote's lore). Meaning that it is common for people to hunt mer on the fly in order to get a kick out of it. This also creates other separate groups.

Some wish to use the mers for entertainment. Others created their own research groups that unfortunately are not well versed in the trade of mer than the original one. Causing situations like in synths world were they naively put all her species in one collective spot instead of going through the trouble of researching in different environments. Causing chaos.

Mers at this point have spread across the globe. creating different species. Most of the time Mers will copycat a specie. How they do this. . . . I don't know, Maybe they breed with said natural species? Creating said subspecies? Perhaps it is just magic. Either way this is how other species of mer exist without human intervention. Such like @madcatdaderpydrawer-blog's mers or @synthcoyote's.

The research group is still trying to control the flow of mer as the lab group are still making and/or toying around with mer. Since the lab group holds a lot more power in the money department they also can get away with doing a lot more stuff. Capturing mer to sell their eggs to aquariums, performing cruel experiments on them to "evaluate" how the wild specie is going, and still creating mer in labs. The poor research group trying to free all mer within these situations.

Blue Moon's Leviathan species (And perhaps also @synthcoyote mer satern species) we're made through such extended dna experimentation. Particularly in the growth hormone department. As the lab scientist wanted to see how big and how fast mer could grow. This also caused Blue Moon species to become cannibalistic just to support their size. But due to the fact that Mer Blue Moon's species grew so exponentially large so fast They had to be released into the deep reefs. Unfortunately the research group they were not made aware of this giant cannibal species that had just been placed into the ocean.

The research group and others like them are of course trying to track and care for the new wild species. The research group of course splits across different oceanic regions. Creating the different areas that different AUs take place. This also separates a research groups and therefore sometimes naive ones are placed over separate regions which cause problems.

My AU has a research group that is fairly competent. As I see it cannon they have tried to tag every mer they can. That way they can track their movement without trapping them to a certain region. All of my mers are born within the ocean. Although at some point I'll probably add some that are lab made other than Blue Moon's parent. Golden red and tempting waters are both the natural species that was first released. Blue Moon is the unnatural Leviathan species. I've already explained Blue Moon's history and lore here before so I'm not going to explain it again.

Point is he should be living in the area just below the night light zone but before the Twilight zone. Basically at the deep end of the deep reefs. Blue Moon does not do this it due to maternal instinct. Believing that he should live in the top layers of the deep reefs area instead of the bottom ones.

The poor research group is desperately trying to tag Blue Moon and drive him into the deeper waters. Blue Moon always either knocks off the tags they place or simply too terrified of boats for them to get close. At this point they have decided to label the area that tempting waters and a golden red live as a protected hazard zone. Seeing that Blue Moon can cause quite a lot of damage to an unsuspecting ship.

Astraeus

“Captain Nameless taught Astraeus how to run on crutches. But she’s so insistent I go faster! Pretty soon, Astraeus is worried he’ll run so fast he’ll start swimming in the air!”

In the deepest, darkest depths of the ocean, a race of merfolk wallows in general misery, albeit safety. Astraeus, naturally adventurous, rejects this, and leaves to see land, people, and sunlight. A sailing captain he meets, Nameless the Beardless, teaches Astraeus that traversing the human world isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The merman responds simply: grabbing a pair of crutches and walking forward anyway. Nameless, perhaps a little too impressed, immediately starts training Astraeus to overcome any obstacle on crutches. …Really REALLY training him. Astraeus’s top speed on land is 30 mph, and god does he look frantic as he does it.

She mysteriously appears anytime, anywhere, no matter how much no one actually wants her there. She only says “Hi, I’m Muffie!” and nothing else. What is her goal? Is she an observer? Why does she cameo in every part? …Wait, WHAT? It says here she becomes Yuni’s girlfriend from the AU overlap?? HOW? Her character is about having one line! Is… Is she more than she appears?
