[Spade no Kuni no Alice] Machine Translation Patches (White & Black) Download
White World Screenshots
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Black World Screenshots
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a machine translation patch which was created by running the dialog files for both games through Google translate. The game should be mostly understandable but there will occasional nonsense translations or cut off lines. very basic JP knowledge makes some of the translation oddities easier to understand.
Patch should work on emulator and modded Switch
Patch Downloads: White: DL Black: DL Please note that the patch for White World is much larger since the game has one large asset bundle that contains all the code/levels rather than multiple smaller ones like Black World.
100% Save Data Downloads: White: DL Black: DL
Installation instructions are included in the patch README file
Some mistranslation/oddity examples, some are kinda funny. (These are old screenshots from before I fixed the color of character dialog boxes and backlog portraits, they are fixed in the actual patch)

Retail Therapy (Kakuzu x Reader)
Synopsis: Deidara has a new partner for a combined effort with the Zombie Combo. However, something about you has Kakuzu heated.
Word Count: 2,123
Tags/Warnings: Violence, Threat of Violence, Probably Language, Gender Neutral Reader
Notes: Kakuzu content is probably some of the best stuff I’ve ever written. Right now I’m watching a video on fried milk. Ever hear of such a thing? Fascinating.
Tumblr media
Kakuzu didn’t like being paired up with Hidan, let alone joint missions where he’d have to deal with even more people. Not to say that Kakuzu hated people, because he did, but he never thought that he’d hate anyone more than he absolutely hated you. He hadn’t even met you yet, but he knew at his very core that you would quickly become the bane of his entire existence.
“Shopping?” Kakuzu asked slowly, the word forming on his lips as if he had an aversion to even speaking it. Deidara leaned back on the large bounder that he settled on and stretched his arms up above his head. The blond nodded with a short groan before his hands came to rest behind his head.
“Yep,” he answered, “And for hours too, so I’d get comfortable.” Hidan plopped down on a patch of dirt below, his back and scythe against the side of the rock. Kakuzu glared down at his partner causing Hidan to shrug. To Hidan, if Deidara thought that the three of them would be waiting a while, he would take his word and make himself comfortable. Kakuzu’s attention turned back to Deidara.
“Hours? What possibly could someone be purchasing that takes them hours?” Hidan gazed up from his spot, head tilted back against the surface behind him.
“And we only came like five minutes late too. Who takes off like that?” Kakuzu almost nodded in agreement, but knowing his partner, Hidan would take any excuse to complain. Deidara shrugged, basking in the warmth of the sun and stayed lounging even as a rustling came from the woods. Hidan’s hand immediately reached up to grip the handle of his weapon and Kakuzu took a defensive stance. Deidara’s eyes remained closed.
“Oh hello, boys! I didn’t know you were here!” You sauntered out of the trees, bags hanging from both arms. They were pushed tightly in a line, every other patch of your skin strained by the handles of a different shopping bag. Even in your altered Akatsuki cloak, Kakuzu took a look at you and immediately decided that you were decorated far too ornately and that he’d like to kill you when he had the chance. You were objectively beautiful, but if Kakuzu had his way, Deidara would have to be assigned another partner soon. “You haven’t been waiting for too long, have you?”
“You shouldn’t have left us waiting at all,” Kakuzu glowered, although not any more than usual. Either you didn’t hear him or you ignored him as you walked up to your partner. You plucked a package from one of your more reachable bags.
“I got you something, Dei-dei!” You threw it up to Deidara weakly but he managed to catch it. He opened the small, folded, paper bag. Deidara glanced down at you with a nod of his head and a fold of his lips. He took the neat band in his hand while you looked at him expectantly. “Aren’t they nice? Hair ties. Silk from a small village in the Land of Water.” Deidara held them up to the sun.
“That’s some great quality you found. Thanks.” Your partner glanced down at you again. “Must’ve been one hell of a fight assuming that you got a good price for it.” Kakuzu looked on at your exchange, increasingly beginning to lose his temper.
“Believe me, I did. And I found a ton of other great finds too. I gotta show you—”
“Enough,” Kakuzu growled and you finally turned your attention his way. Hidan had since passed out against the boulder that Deidara sat on. “You’re wasting all our time. The sooner we start, the sooner we can part ways.” You gave Kakuzu a once over with your nose wrinkled in disgust.
“Well someone’s grumpy,” you mused. You rolled your eyes and pointed your nose upward. Huffing, you threw your shopping bags into the air and as they fell, you swiftly unfurled a scroll. Your new items disappeared one by one. You rolled the paper back up, scowling as you slipped the scroll into one of many slots that you wore strapped to your clothing. The pockets ran down the small of you back and you latched the bundle of paper in place with a flip of your nimble fingers. Kakuzu frowned back, tentatively wondering if all the scrolls you carried contained the same amount of shopping bags. You approached him with crossed arms. “Okay then, tough guy. Let’s get started.”
You sat down and summoned a map of the next village. It laid out in front of you and placed your hands on your knees in challenge. Kakuzu sat down on the other side of the map, eyes boring into you. You didn’t budge. And as you began to speak, it was hard to focus, at least for Deidara. Though he supposed he’s seen you this fired up before.
“It would be easier if we lure the jinchūriki outside of the village,” you said, gesturing to the small, unnamed village on the map. It wasn’t large, but just big enough to serve as a maze for your prize. At least you knew the woods better and a jinchūriki was bound to stand out among the trees.
“I can get up some traps,” Deidara added and you nodded.
“Back them into a corner and cage them into a small space—” You nodded again— “We can use some explosives around the area… maybe here?” You pointed to a section of the map outside of the village. You looked up at Deidara. “You’d be our last line of defense when the jinchūriki tries to run.” Deidara smirked and puffed out his chest.
“Leave it to me!”
“We’ll need someone to drive the jinchūriki out of the village,” Kakuzu cut in, not particularly liking how you dominated the strategizing. “I’ll go with Hidan.” While Kakuzu thought that he would stop at nothing to get away from the Jashinist, this had to be a regrettable first. Hidan napped a few feet away.
You raised an eyebrow and scoffed, “You and Hidan? Psh… might as well have Deidara set off fireworks in the sky that spell out ‘single, hot jinchūriki in your a—”
“I can do that!” Deidara cut in before immediately backing down at Kakuzu’s pointed glare, not that he’d show it. You locked eyes with Kakuzu, taking his fiery stare off of your partner.
“I’ll go. You’re too conspicuous and, really, have you seen Hidan? You two would be spotted a mile away.” Kakuzu almost snarled.
“And you wouldn’t?” You let out a short, bitter laugh. Your left arm supported your weight as your knees touched together on the right side of your body. Kakuzu scowled at your blatant lounging. Everything about you challenged him and he hated you for it. Your lids narrowed in a smug smile.
“I’m not the one—” who’s fuckin’ jacked — “ with big-ass black stitches across my whole body.”
“And four faces on his back…” Hidan called out, still half asleep. You turned back to Kakuzu.
“And four faces on his back,” you repeated, much to Kakuzu’s vexation. The sass in your blinks was lost on the older shinobi. He stood, causing you to stand too. Deidara took a hint and retreated. Kakuzu crossed his arms over his chest and he planted his feet on the ground about the same width apart as his broad shoulders. He pointed two fingers at you harshly.
“And you’re—” Gorgeous. — “a brat. I should just kill you right here.” You stood your ground, daring to slap Kakuzu’s hand out of your face.
“As much as I’d like to see you try, tough guy, I’d actually like to do some quality work and get the hell away from you as quickly as I can.” Kakuzu huffed, gritting his teeth underneath his mask.
“Nice to hear that we’re on the same page.”
And with neither of your partners wanting to deal with either of you pissed off, you and Kakuzu were paired together.
***
Deciding that your cloaks were too noticeable, you sealed yours away. Kakuzu kept his draped across his arm, distrust of you evident. You walked down the road together under the late afternoon, waiting for nightfall. You hoped that striking at night would give you not only the surprise advantage, but also minimize the number of clueless civilians that would no doubt wander in your way. But as soon as your eyes fell onto the market, Kakuzu quickly began to wonder if his stubbornness landed him with an even larger headache. But his usual, standoffish demeanor remained the same. Kakuzu’s eyes drifted to their corners as he scowled down at you.
“No.” That was all he said, as if you would actually listen to him and not immediately march in the direction of the market. He reluctantly followed, every reach to hold you back by your robes falling just a bit short each time. By the time you were stopped, too many people surrounded the two of you for him to pull you away without drawing attention. Normally, attention from others wasn’t anything that Kakuzu would be concerned with, but your two teams had their orders and Kakuzu would be damned if he had to spend anymore time with you.
You stood in front of a booth with your hand on your chin. Kakuzu stood next to you, following your gaze to a simple, but sturdy-looking sword. You gingerly picked it up, carefully studying it’s craftsmanship. The man behind the booth leaned over his table, motioning to the piece of merchandise in your hands.
“Ah, you have a good eye, mercenary.” You glanced up at him.
“Land of Earth? Lots of excellent craftsmanship comes from there, I’m not surprised.” You ran your thumb across the dull of the blade. “Antique too, but still hardy.” The merchant nodded pointing to a few spots across the weapon.
“Could get you out of a bind too. Reliable smithing comes from Tsuchi no Kuni.” Kakuzu looked on at the show in front of him. In stark contrast to earlier, you seemed poised and he found you knowledgeable. You appeared calm and competent enough to handle yourself and for a second, Kakuzu became lost in your analysis.
You stepped back, turning the sword around in your hand to feel out the balance. The blade whipped around your body with ease. The seller softly applauded your embellished practice. Kakuzu almost rolled his eyes, but took some comfort in the fact that you were looking to purchase something of quality and not just anything at the very least. You looked down at the weapon with a nod or two before asking the dreaded question.
“So what’s your price?” The merchant didn’t hesitate.
“A hundred thousand ryō.” Kakuzu almost left right there, but a dominant part of him wanted to know what you were going to do. His hands grasped his biceps, his cloak still hanging from his forearm. Kakuzu watched you closely. You shook your head.
“You’re going to give it to me for twenty-five thousand.” The merchant gaped at the outrageous price you named. He sputtered a few times.
“That price is far too low for this quality. You must be joking if you think I’d sell this fine piece of equipment for practically nothing.”
You did name a ridiculous price. Not even Kakuzu could see getting what you wanted for that price without a fair bit of violence and intimidation. But you ripped into that merchant. You ripped into this poor seller like nothing Kakuzu had ever seen before. He didn’t even know if he could call it bartering, but whatever it was, it was likely one of the most skillful things that Kakuzu had ever seen.
He folded his lips under his mask. You didn’t yell. Kakuzu didn’t even find your appearance intimidating in the slightest, yet every point and number the merchant brought up, you countered. And by the end of the intense conversation, if Kakuzu didn’t know any better and had less of a spine, he’d likely be handing the sword over too. The man had long since started sweating, tugging at his collar. If Kakuzu didn’t see it with his own eyes, he wouldn’t have believed it as you handed over exactly twenty-five thousand ryō. He almost overlooked the complete waste of money as he still stood stunned, though not outwardly showing any such emotion.
You nestled the sword by your hip and the seller let out a breath of relief by the time you walked away. Kakuzu followed wordlessly next to you as you strutted off in triumph.
Perhaps he misjudged you. He stared, not noticing as he did so.
Yes, you were going to save the organization a fortune.

If someone were to ask the newly appointed Yondaime whether he believed in ghosts, they would be subjected to an incredulous look; complete with a raised blond brow and owlish blue hues. After a brief moment of scrutiny, said question would be waved aside with a humorous chuckle, before the conversation would inevitably be steered towards matters involving government and the appalling mess that was the archive cabinet in the Jōnin headquarters.
For you see, Namikaze Minato didn’t believe in ghosts. ‘Spirits’ to a degree, could be considered manifestations of wayward chakra signatures that had yet to fade from their plane of existence. Nothing more.
Ghosts though? Pft.
That was the only logical explanation, wasn’t it?
Tumblr media
A frost-laden gale blew from the stormy white peaks up yonder; echoing a ghostly howl and laden with enough snow to swallow the little sunlight that had managed to flicker through the rolling fog. It was dreary, if one could describe it in a word, yet also paradoxically calm; not a soul in sight, none dumb enough - touched in the head enough - to take their chances against nature’s silent rage.
And then there was him of course; an insolent blotch of blue and gray against a backdrop of sweeping white. Blue hues chanced a peek at the charcoal-smudged skyline before disappearing under his flimsy hood - he could barely see past the blizzard, let alone focus enough to know where he was going. Near frozen fingers curled tightly around the handle of a kunai, while the other hand kept a tight hold of his traveler’s cloak. The last thing he needed was the wind to fly off with it.
The border between the Lands of Frost and Lightning was particularly hostile around this time of the year; many a peddler that he had met on his way from Ta no Kuni had warned him as much, citing near-death personal experiences so as to dissuade even the most stubborn of travelers.
Clearly, they had never met a Konoha shinobi - one on a reconnaissance mission, no less.
The Second Shinobi War was heaving its dying breaths, with Amegakure having retreated and Sunagakure having suffered the white fang, Konoha was well on its way to claiming complete victory.
Or at least they would have been. A little birdie had told the elder council of an impending attack from Kumogakure, who had apparently been waiting for the rest of the hidden villages to exhaust their resources before showing their hand.
Considering the tact of such an idea, it was smooth and simple; an effective tactic while everyone else scattered about like headless poultry. Naturally, with assets stretched thin and shinobi exhausted after 3 years of pointless skirmishes, Konoha’s war office had declared the matter worthy of looking into. The only question being a matter of who would be fast enough, smart enough, to assess the situation from a discrete angle and report back just as swiftly?
Enter one Namikaze Minato, Konoha’s resident Yellow Flash and nearly the fastest shinobi in the field. He had been given stellar recommendations by Yuuhei Keisuka, the commander of their Kusa outpost for his numerous achievements. It was also rumored that he was quite talented at some odd variation of the shunshin no jutsu, which made him annoyingly deadly on the battlefield.
For all his talent though, he was certain that he would freeze to death out here in the wilderness. Now-pale digits pulled the cloak tighter around his person at the thought, as blue orbs narrowed against the onslaught of what felt like frost-tipped pinpricks against his vision. Normally, under such circumstances, the blond would use his hiraishin (which was not an odd variation of the shunshin no jutsu, thank you very much) since it allowed him to cover more ground relatively easily; in fact, that was how he had reached the outskirts of Kumogakure in two days to begin with.
However, most of his reserves had been spent on placing his markers, and since his reconnaissance was meant to be a secretive one, he could afford no chances. The week he had spent on that altitude sickness-inducing nightmare they called the barrack backyard had mostly witnessed him teleporting from one marker to the next; gathering intel with detailed notes - infiltrating their headquarters while they slept, like a kami-forsaken, blond haired ghoul.
For all his efforts and backtracking, amidst draining his chakra reserves to the point of near exhaustion, Minato had come to one, solid conclusion.
The birdie that had so willfully whispered in the council’s wrinkly ear had clearly been suffering from a concussion. Kumogakure had no plans on entering the war, despite them having picked a bone with Konoha earlier via Uzumaki-napping gone wrong. They were squandering their resources, yes, but for another reason entirely that had nothing to do with their current skirmishes. Minato had the notes (swiped, of course, from under a commander’s upturned nose) to prove it.
Now if only he had the chakra for it too, he grumbled. The near dwindling state of his reserves at present could be attributed to his escape from Kumo’s borders - he couldn’t exactly leave a trace behind, after all. With enough intel to report back (and an outpost in sufficient disarray because they were convinced their corridors were haunted), Minato had simply wanted to put enough distance between him and a potentially explosive powder keg.
Even if that meant covering some distance via nearly frost-bitten limbs. Cue a grimace as his leg sunk further in the deep snow, the cold nearly gnawing it off from the knee. He had to wait a little while, probably just a bit more before he recovered enough chakra to use the hiraishin with his marked kunai - two dimensional hops would hopefully put him in range of the marker he had placed on a tavern that bordered the forests; a patch of thick green wilderness that lay a little distance from where the ascent to the mountains truly began.
Cue another crunch of snow which was nearly swallowed by the wind. Gloved digits abandoned his weapons pouch in favor of shielding his eyes from the additional frigid onslaught. At this rate he was going to turn into a blond-sicle and he would have no one to blame but his lack of better judgement.
Oh, and the elder council - definitely the elder council, came a childish reminder, as blue hues caught a smear of dark green somewhere in his peripheral; it stood in stark contrast to the dull hues swathing the landscape.
Forests were usually green (lets blame a frost-bitten brain for stating the obvious)…mentally trailing off, the chunin felt the beginnings of hope kindle his frozen insides and he flailed through deep snow with increased vigor. It wasn’t until gloved fingers found the brittle ridges characteristic of a Tsuga* bark that he allowed himself to slow down a little; and not until he had made decent headway into the foliage that he allowed himself to pause for breath.
Trees meant less snow (or more, if he was clumsy enough which, at the moment, seemed like a distinct possibility) and less wind, which inevitably meant better visibility. As thick as they were, they provided ample shelter, with the blizzard too busy running amuck between the heavy branches to pelt him with vision hampering flurries.
The trees also proved to be an apt backrest because kami, he was tired. The teen exhaled a large puff of breath before pausing behind a particularly sturdy tree; letting his back rest against it with a soft whump that was barely heard over the wind that was basically laying waste to the forest canopy.
Apart from that, it was relatively quiet and surprisingly less hostile. Shadows clung to an overhanging branch here, to the undersides of gnarled roots there…lurking between the trees in a way only nature could manage. His senses told him nary a soul was nearby, and with the paranoia borne of his profession eased off his shoulders, Minato felt his eyes flutter shut for the briefest moment.
He had been on high alert for so long…letting his head rest back against the trunk, the blond felt exhaustion lull his consciousness into the beginnings of a light slumber. Five minutes…maybe ten? Maybe he could just rest here until his chakra had been replenished enough for him to use the hiraishin without collapsing. Maybe–
“Could you please help me?” The words were soft, barely a whisper in the wind; but to him they were as loud as an explosive seal tag. Blue hues snapped open, and with speed borne of pure instinct, he pulled out a kunai, the deadly three pronged tip pointed at his assailant’s jugular.
Had he not been as exhausted as he was, said tip would have promptly been buried in an unsuspecting neck without a moment’s notice – but thankfully that wasn’t the case. Startled black hues stared back at him from beneath her wide brimmed kasa*, wrinkled mouth still open from her earlier request. The old lady seemed frail, her weathered hands clinging to a make-shift, gnarled staff as the breeze played around with her long ponytail.
How had he not sensed her? Blue hues narrowed, the kunai point still lingering with deadly accuracy as his heart played a thundering staccato in his ears. Try as he might, he could not pick up on the old lady’s chakra signature - either she was an exceptionally well trained scout or—
“Please” It was more of a statement than a request this time, as her clothed knees shook and she fumbled with the large stick in her hands, “My son…I can’t find him.” There were tears brimming against her beady black hues, “You look like him and I thought…” Trailing off, the old lady choked back a sob as she turned her head to her shoulder to hide her barely repressed tears, frail shoulders quaking with the effort.
Blink. He slowly lowered his kunai, her visage tugging at a stray heart-string he didn’t even know he possessed anymore (thanks to murdering child-scouts on a weekly basis); maybe she was a lost civilian after all? His senses had yet to fail him. Minato spun the kunai to rest snugly against his palm, his index finger acting as an anchor in the metal loop; before taking a step closer to her, still wary - and for all the right reasons, mind you.
“Summimasen, baa san.” He said, tone just a little warmer than the weather, “But you shouldn’t be out here, in this blizzard.”
The old woman nodded in response, rubbing her face against her sleeve before raising her head to meet his guarded expression, “My son…I just want to find him. You understand?” Of course he didn’t “But the storm and…I…I can’t find him” she flailed, “Since you’re going down…can you help an old lady a little way?” Dark hues stared at him in earnest; hopeful, yet somewhat hesitant.
Minato paused; as heartless as it seemed to simply abandon her right there and then, he was rather inclined to do so - regardless of Kumo’s stance, they were still in the midst of war and his face had recently graced the pages of every bounty scroll in the continent.
But there was something about her predicament that nagged at his conscience - also, he had probably scared her halfway to the afterlife earlier. With a short nod, he found himself extending an arm to her as additional support before he was even aware of it; only realizing the gesture once thin, spidery fingers grasped his forearm in a frigid, vice like grip. The old lady had shifted most of her weight on him, and he supposed that was understandable since she could barely hold on to the rotting branch anyways. Said branch had undoubtedly been picked from the base of the many Tsuga trees that littered the forest.
And so they walked - lumbered, in the old lady’s case - for an indefinite period of time. Minato lost track after the second time they passed a familiar tree; the sole indication of their direction based on the downward slope of the forest floor. His companion was surprisingly quiet through the trek, sans the heaving breaths that would emanate from her person.
If she was still worried for her son, she wasn’t as keen on showing it. Blond brows furrowed at the thought before it was filed away for later; his chakra was nearly at a point where he could teleport with a fraction to spare, and with somewhat replenished reserves, he was more aware of the faint chakra of living matter buzzing about the forest. It was noisier than natural energy, which flowed more like a constant stream; though what bothered him was the fact that the old lady emanated neither.
Maybe it was because he wasn’t as adept at sensing natural energy yet? Regardless, if he was going to use the hiraishin soon, they would need to part ways – though maybe he could bring her along? The woman was clearly no threat to his person, and maybe the tavern owner could help her locate her son?
Cue a tightening of thin fingers, as if she had heard his thoughts. Minato paused mid-trudge, blue hues trying to locate dark counterparts from the shadow of her picker’s hat, “Obaa san, there’s a small tavern dow—”
“Iie” The wind had gotten eerily quiet; a mere treble against the sharp whisper. The icy grip on his wrist curled tighter, as if to break the appendage between spidery digits. Try as he might, he couldn’t tug it away, instead, her nails painfully burrowed holes in the underside of his wrist.
With a barely withheld grimace, the Namikaze mumbled an apology, while summoning some of his chakra to the other palm before striking the woman squarely in the chest; a controlled gust of wind - usually strong enough to send a grown shinobi flying - erupting from his hand.
It barely disturbed her kasa “You promised” her voice was hollow, almost an echo from a great unseeing void. Ravenous inky tendrils flowed like a gushing torrent from beneath her hat, wrapping tightly around his midsection and slowly snaking upwards; frost tipped points numbing flesh as they did.
By the shodai’s eyebrows— Minato almost swore, before he dangerously flicked the kunai from his caught hand, the steel points doing little to hamper her grip on his wrist. The woman cocked her head to the side, before empty hues found his near panicking ones, causing him to freeze mid-struggle.
Gone was the friendly face; the crow’s feet, wrinkled mouth and the sagging skin. Instead, there was rotten flesh, with maggots peeking from empty sockets that sat snug between layers of decaying, mottled crimson; no doubt decomposing muscle. A strip of flesh hung loosely from one cheek bone as her gaping maw opened wide, barely strung together by fleshy ribbons.
“You promised”
Move, Namikaze – this is a genjutsu. It has to be a genjutsu – but even amidst his panicked thoughts, he couldn’t move a single muscle. The hair had him constricted to the point of suffocation; he could barely concentrate on gathering his chakra together.
Move, Namikaze! The inky tendrils caressed his cheek now, deceptively gentle as the marred face came closer. Minato felt the breath escape his lungs as bony fingers inched towards his eyes. Quivering digits barely managed to flick the kunai in his hand uselessly behind the apparition.
Move! He was a gray blur at the faintest prick to his cheek. His form disappeared from between writhing strands; only to appear behind her. Blue hues barely registered the inky tendrils in his peripheral before he summoned every last bit of chakra and flickered to his last marked signature—
—And promptly crashed into a table full of delicate china; complete with ink sticks, empty brass scroll holders and rolls of parchment. Spots danced across his vision, as his eyes strained to accustom to the suddenly new, darker environment. Breathing heavily, the blond chunin barely managed to pull himself out of the splintered wood and broken ceramic; quivering knees and fingers resting heavily against the aged tatami.
The room tilted sideways, and Minato was sure he would have tilted with it had it not been for a squeak that prompted his gaze.
“W-Who?” An old man was huddled away from him, clutching a short tanto blade to his chest as if the presence of the weapon alone would ward off danger. Blue hues blinked dully at it before flickering to the dim lamp light reflecting off the man’s pale scalp.
Thank kami he was bald. Cue a faint, watery grin before chakra exhaustion took its toll and he dropped to the side like a sack of daikon - just as the man let out a particularly high pitched shriek.
Needless to say, by the time he got back to Konoha, he was considerably poorer than when he had left.
Tumblr media
Namikaze Minato didn’t - wouldn’t believe in ghosts. Kato Dan had once explained the idea behind the stereotypical ‘specter’, as the image, once popularized by veteran war narratives, would be enough to build a reputation. Dan had relied on that image, since not only did it compliment his famed Spirit Transformation technique, but there was no weapon more feared than a reputable shinobi.
As Yondaime, Minato had all that and more - for a man on the pinnacle of his career, he couldn’t afford to give in to idle fancies.
Even though at times, during the frostiest winter nights, he felt the familiar touch of spidery digits curling tightly over his wrist; a forgotten name a mere whisper in the wind.

@dobujutsu whispered: ♟to Ryu!
Tumblr media
Some days, rather than do your job, someone else has to do it for you. Or in this case, to you.
Not that Ryū is completely unused to being wounded. Defensive jutsu or not, defended role or not, there’s still always a chance to get hurt. In this particular case, it was mostly a matter of wrong place, wrong time. One moment she’s in Cha no Kuni on leave for a few days to recuperate and relax. The next, she finds herself caught up in an ANBU sting of an A-rank missing nin who happened to flee not only to the same land, but the same village she happened to be in.
Tumblr media
As surprised as she was, that didn’t stop her from - once the shock faded - doing her best to at least stay out of the way, and if she could, lend a hand. To the man’s misfortune, he thought she’d make a decent hostage, which resulted in a dislocated shoulder when he grabbed her, and a few shallow lacerations from his bladed weapon of choice. But with his attention mostly on the agents on his tail, that left Ryū with a brief opportunity to get a palm against his skin, and deliver a large jolt of chakra through his nervous system.
He’d gone limp, twitching and jolting as Konoha nin quickly restrained him. It was only once one of the officers - a woman with dual-toned locks - made note of her injuries that Ryū thought anything of them.
Despite her assurance she could handle the wounds herself, the ANBU had insisted she help, if only because Ryū was never meant to end up involved in the first place. Sheepishly obliging, the healer gave a grimace as her shoulder was popped back into place, chakra internally working to soothe the nerves as the cuts were seen to.
“Well, at least you all have one less thing to worry about come morning,” she offers dryly, watching as the still-limp criminal is hauled away. “And so will everyone in this little village. Thank you for helping keep them safe.”

LawLu 2k19 Week, Day 3: Wounds
I’m not a girl who’s hurt physically, in fact I only have two painful memories, one of a rock against my forehead and the other of my chin when I did a flip-flop in the air. So serious injuries never, or I don’t know what people call serious injuries...
Notes and Warnings: Wano Kuni arc. Does anyone else feel a sense of relief when this arc is over?
Time Alone
“Ouch!” Luffy complained as soon as the alcohol-soaked cotton made contact with the open wound on his shoulder.
“Don’t ouch me,” Trafalgar replied, like the other captain, he also looked badly wounded, though his face only had a few scratches. “Who told you you could punch Kaidō like that?”
“No one,” Luffy replied by itching his nose. “He was being a jerk to everyone.”
“It was a rhetorical question, Luffy, you didn’t have to answer it.” Trafalgar sighed, checking that the wound was already clean he took the suture thread and needle. “Just because your body is rubber doesn’t mean you can treat it that way.”
“I already know that.” Luffy replied, tsk’ing when the needle entered his still sensitive skin, “That’s why I just have to be careful with the knives. And other sharp things.”
And what exactly do you think the body of a dragon is made of? Trafalgar wanted to ask, but knowing Luffy’s logical, maybe his partner would answer him with a stupid answer.
All right, he asked for this. He’s just suffering the consequences of his actions.
“What about you?” Luffy asked, glancing at Torao, who was focused on sewing his skin.
“What with me?” Trafalgar didn’t take his gaze from the suture, it was one of those rare moments where Luffy allowed himself to be treated with such tranquility, he couldn’t miss this opportunity for a slight respite.
“Kaidō also gave you a good punch in the back and ribs.”
“He did.” Trafalgar cut the thread and began to patch the wound on Luffy’s shoulder, “But it was because I was careless. I can’t say the same for our friend Kidd.”
Luffy gave a laugh that should have been heard across the whole nation, And thus give their secret location. “We really went wrong, didn’t we?”
“You speak in plural.” Trafalgar finished his work, “Now we must talk about — ”
Luffy dropped his head on Trafalgar’s lap, smiling at him. “Are you sure you don’t need your wounds healed? I can’t do it myself, but Chopper might be willing.”
Trafalgar stroked his partner’s black hair, it was rare that Luffy didn’t want to go see his crew, as anxious as he was at the beginning of all this, most of them hadn’t been seen each other for days. “Do whatever you want.”
Until dinner and his new meeting began, Trafalgar and Luffy had time to heal their wounds.

Genre: Hurt/Comfort, Romance, Human AU, 1960s AU  Characters: Cinnabar/Phosphophyllite, Diamond, Euclase, Bort, Alexandrite, Yellow Diamond Summary: When 19 yo Cinnabar thought of giving Phos their heart, 16 yo Phos left them to move to another town with Antarcticite. 5 years and a lifetime later, Phos makes a sudden comeback into Cinnabar’s life, helping both of them realize that running away from your problems is grossly overrated.
A/N: nnngh I can’t believe I’m finally posting this, a huge thank you to @lapishead for betareading this and to @enfphos for their patience and adorable support. Enjoy!
Just a little more.
Cinnabar kept filling all the spaces in their mind with those words, trying not to leave any room for complaints. They were clinging to the hope that, if they persisted in telling themselves that they were almost done, the words would magically start sounding true rather than repetitive. It was a cognitive thing, Alex had told Cinnabar once.
Almost done.
Cinnabar’s mind must be extraordinarily stubborn, but at least the mantra had kept them from overthinking. As a form of cognitive gratitude, they repeated those words a final time as they picked up the last cardboard box from Euclase’s car. Then they reverted back to cursing their own physical form as they panted and puffed their way up the entrance steps and then, finally, collapsed on the bare mattress as soon as they stepped foot inside their new home.
The box followed them happily, bouncing on the bed along with Cinnabar and raining its contents on top of them and all around the room. Cinnabar paid it no mind. Objects were supposed to go missing in any respectable move.
Basking in the validation that they got from the newfound chaos, Cinnabar shifted their attention to the ceiling above them. It took them a couple of seconds to decide that it was judging the incompetent way Cinnabar had carried their boxes and that it would keep judging as Cinnabar unpacked. One more reason not to start now. Even the wall knew that Cinnabar was just the pale imitation of the previous tenant, but Cinnabar had resigned to mediocrity a long time ago.
It was a nice ceiling, they supposed, white, freshly painted, and with the distinctive sand-looking roughness that characterized most things in this town. Then Cinnabar’s eyes narrowed and spotted one single black dot that was singlehandedly ruining the pristine whiteness. Bort would totally blame them for it.
Awesome.
“May I? Oh, you are done already,” Diamond’s head peeked out from behind the bedroom’s door. Their smile betrayed just the faintest disappointment for not being able to linger any further.
“Mh-h,” Cinnabar answered, still contemplating Bort’s rage. Then they remembered to let out a small, whispered “thanks,” in exchange for Diamond’s help.
“Would you like a hand unpacking? You just need ask if you do. We’d all be happy to come over, I can call Benito and Ame, we’ll be done super fast.”
“I’ll do it myself,” Cinnabar mumbled, terrified by the perspective.
“Of course,” Diamond offered them another eloquent smile. No one had been happy when Cinnabar mentioned moving out of the school dormitory. Diamond especially had not been happy when they learned that the only reason was that Bort would be moving out as well, leaving their small apartment empty for Cinnabar to occupy.
Diamond’s fingers traveled along the doorframe with delicate interest, as if following a fond memory or searching for one.
“Did my little sibling call, yet?”
“No.”
“Oh,” Dia’s eyes got tangled in a mysterious web of memories that lay just below the surface of the wood. When they shifted their gaze to the ceiling, Cinnabar expected them to point out the insignificant black spot too. “It’s been a while. They’re probably very busy with the new school and everything. I’m sure they will call. No need to be worried, they’ll be fine. They’re always fine. Bort is such a responsible cutie.”
A weak “of course,” was all the sympathy Cinnabar managed to offer. Even when threading carefully among sibling rivalries and unresolved conflicts, the truth was that they would miss Bort too.
Without Bort, Cinnabar would probably lack both a place to call their own and a sense of independence. They were afraid that their newly discovered sense of self would crumble like a sand castle in a couple of days without Bort’s cement-strong pragmatism to keep it in place. Therefore, Cinnabar made a mental note to find some courage to call their friend before the castle collapsed. Bort had already done them the favor of providing the apartment with a phone, so Cinnabar could return the courtesy by sparing Dia the awkwardness of calling their sibling first. One of these days. In the near future. Eventually.
“Yeah,” Dia nodded again, more to convince themselves than Cinnabar, equally hurt and relieved by knowing their little sibling was hundreds of kilometers away. “And what about my Shinsha, will you be okay, dear? Don’t you think you’ll feel alone all by yourself?”
“I’ll be fine. I’m here, you can still… call, or drop by, I guess… it’s okay.”
“Of course, I’d love to. And I really need to bring you some flowers, this place needs waaay more colors, wouldn’t that be cute?.”
“Okay.”
Diamond giggled at Cinnabar’s lack of interest.
“You can tell me I’m being silly. Stupid, little, apprehensive Dia. I’ll shut up, no more talking, no no,” they admonished themselves. “So, I guess I should be going now…”
Cinnabar didn’t answer. Diamond picked up their coat from the chair next to Bort’s bed, their eyes lingering on the cardboard boxes and clothes lazily scattered around the room.
“I’m gonna miss you a little, I know it’s still the same,” they hurried to add, “but just a little bit, a tiny little bit,” they chuckled, “alright. I’ll see you around, bye-bye, Shinsha.”
“Bye.”
Diamond gave one last look at the room, their eyes finally noticing the tiny dot that had ruined the flawlessness of the ceiling all by itself. They knew, too, that Bort would hate it.
Diamond smiled.
Then they waved goodbye to their friend again and walked out of Cinnabar’s apartment.
Diamond was right when they said it would still be the same. That was exactly one of the reasons Cinnabar was terrified it would all come crumbling down.
Bort’s apartment was little more than one block away from the dormitories of the institute, which meant that Cinnabar would still stumble upon friends and family anytime they went to the library, ventured outside to buy groceries, or simply decided to take a walk. They would still meet familiar faces every day at work.
Bort’s apartment was the farthest Cinnabar could presently dare to get from everything, and yet it was barely any distance at all. It should be pathetic that it had still taken Cinnabar five whole years to get to this point. And that they were still tempted to throw it all away the second Bort’s train disappeared behind the horizon. Bort was wrong in believing that Cinnabar’s confidence needed more careful patching up. It needed to be rebuilt from scratch altogether.
Cinnabar’s best days were the ones when they would woke up and feeling bitter about it. When the desire for a stable sense of self was something they cared enough to miss. But most days they were just hungry for isolation. The company of old, useless memories still more appreciated than that of the present.
The pebbles of the road crunched under Cinnabar’s feet as they walked to the library. It was hot, irritatingly hot for a late summer day. Cinnabar should have tied their hair up and slowed their pace. Each extra movement was an admission of weakness against the supremacy of the heat.
For as much as Cinnabar hated cleaning, the fact that Bort had trusted them with an apartment to care for was nothing short of a miracle. And it said something about Bort’s excessive optimism toward Cinnabar. Cinnabar was not sure what was most surreal between leaving the dorms and have someone blindly believe in them.
As they pushed open the library’s front door, Cinnabar made a reluctant mental note to find the strength to unpack at least one or two boxes before going to bed. Looking at those boxes had a mysterious, therapeutic effect on Cinnabar’s mind, an illusion of productivity, a sign that something new and exciting was still happening. As long as at least one cardboard box was still around, the apartment would still be getting used to Cinnabar’s presence. And it would be easier to leave.
“G’ morning,” they signaled their presence, closing the door behind them.
“Hello, hello! My, did you time me? I was just about to leave,” Alexandrite’s energetic voice greeted them in the midst of their hurried chaos, “Papers are on my desk, books must be re-shelved, dust is piling up everywhere, this place looks more and more like a tomb with each passing day, but isn’t that fascinating? Gosh, just like a good old expedition down south, we should all visit Greece one of these days. Very informative. Very hot, as well. Always bring a hat. But do leave the dust, atmosphere is always important, people who complain can do so in my face.”
“Alright.”
Picking up equally fundamental objects from completely different parts of the room, Alexandrite’s storm quickly approached Cinnabar, briskly retrieving the last missing items— a summer coat and a hat—  from the hanger behind Cinnabar’s shoulders. Cinnabar drew back carefully, on the verge of losing balance.
“Late, late, late,” Alex chanted as they hurriedly put on the coat, despite the temperature outside, fighting to keep in balance the absurd amount of papers and notes that they were holding to their chest. Cinnabar reached forward in a timid attempt to help, which Alex, in their hurry, failed to notice.
“Goddammit, I need more hands.”
“Need a bag or something?”
“Nature gave me arms so I could use them.”
Cinnabar’s mouth twitched, any further remark concerning Alex’s clothing would be disregarded in the name of eccentricity— or of pleasing a wide fanbase of young, curious students. Even retired academicians had expectations to live up to.
“Laaate,” Alex chanted one last time when they finally managed to put an arm in the correct hole of the coat, the papers still precariously squished against their chest. “Alright, I’m off. Take care of the place for me.”
“Don’t kill any kid.”
“Ah! I’ll try,” and then Lexi stormed out of the door, a couple of sheets of paper following after them, as late as their author.
Cinnabar mused for a second whether to catch them while Alex was still in earshot. Instead, they observed the papers’ silent fall until gravity reduced them to unresponsive leaflets. Then Cinnabar picked them up and walked back inside to put them on the front desk. Golden puffs of dust welcomed them on the wood.
Just like an old tomb.
Cinnabar didn’t make a habit to eavesdrop on other people in the library. No matter how loud the words, arguments and gossip just flowed away from their mind in a stream of lazy disinterest. It was one of the reasons Jade had stopped asking them to collaborate in the newspaper. Library news was lost to Cinnabar’s attention.
And yet, today’s buzz had managed to dig itself a small, tiny hole in Cinnabar’s mind. Scattered words and sentences made them uneasy, bits and pieces connecting to old images that Cinnabar had repressed years ago and only dug up when they felt like self-loathing.
They shouldn’t care, they knew better than to care again, but memories of a coach lazily departing from town crawled their way to the surface of Cinnabar’s consciousness.
It was so easy to remember the salt from the sea itching Cinnabar’s nostrils, the way the fresh breeze of that morning had dried cold tears on their cheeks. Several people had gathered in the piazza to watch that coach leave, waving, lingering, wishing they could leave too.
Cinnabar had climbed up to the last terrace of the lighthouse, breathing in the dawn and despising themselves for looking down at the piazza, too, still incredulous at what was happening. A part of them had even tried to spot a glimpse of teal hair through a windowpane, but the coach was too far gone already. The vehicle disappeared in the fog without noticing Cinnabar’s presence.
They still thought about that day, from time to time. It still felt like a surreal, bad dream. They wondered what had happened to a specific couple of passengers, and they still commiserated themselves for not being able to wish misfortunes on other people.
Cinnabar shouldn’t care anymore, but those voices had dusted off old aches and now it was hard to bury them again.
In an attempt to distract themselves, Cinnabar focused on the ridiculous amount of papers that they were carrying, because of course Alex had fallen behind on grading tests. And, since the thought of more work was not enough, they resolved to stop by Euclase’s shop as well, hoping that the familiar anxiety from social interactions would drown any other preoccupation.
Euclase’s grocery store was almost exactly halfway between Cinnabar’s new house and the school. It sat at the intersection of the town’s main road and the long, meandering street that led to the sea. The little shop was just one story tall but occupied every square centimeters with conscious pride, aware of its position at the very heart of the city.
The silvery chant of a wind chimes welcomed Cinnabar as they pushed open the door. It was almost closing time and the setting sun bathed the ambience in the sepia immobility of a photograph. Even Euclase was lost in the peachy hues that clothed the evening. Seated in contemplation behind the cash desk, they gave the impression of dozing off in a coat of warm sunlight.
At the sound of the wind chimes, Euclase turned their head immediately, waking up from their dream. Cinnabar offered a small nod as greeting.
“Oh, hi, Shinsha. I wasn’t expecting you. Can I do something for you?”
Cinnabar’s heart took a dull leap at the mention of not being expected. They breathed in a small gulp of evening.
“I’m just… stopping by, I guess…”
“Of course, of course. How are you, dear? Are you alright?”
Cinnabar nodded, but only when Euclase’s eyes widened in surprise did they realize that Euc’s question had not been mere politeness.
“That’s good, I’m glad, really.”
With quick precision, Cinnabar’s mind enumerated and evaluated all the things that could be wrong with Cinnabar or that Euclase might be concerned about. Their heart made another leap as anxiety washed over them.
“What’s up?”
“So you don’t know yet…” Euclase murmured and Cinnabar’s pulse quickened as they thought about the buzz that they had heard in the library that morning.
They wanted to walk to the cash desk, slam their hands on the counter and ask for explanations, or maybe storm out of the shop like the mature person they were, but their feet were cowardly glued to the ground, surrounded by warm, sticky sunlight.
“Is it about the apartment?” they asked, but they already knew the answer. Euclase shook their head no.
“Now, what I’m about to say might upset you,” they began, walking toward Cinnabar with a sweet, motherly smile plastered on their face, “but please, I’m sure we can find a way to deal with this. I know it’s going to be alright-“
Halfway through Euclase’s speech, Cinnabar had spaced out. If this were Sensei instead of Euclase, he would have patted Cinnabar’s head, offering a gentle smile. But Euclase was not Sensei, no matter how much they tried to walk in his steps. They just stood in front of Cinnabar, smiling, mindful not to hug or touch them, ready to deliver the blow with artfully coated sincerity.
“-there must be a reason why Phos is back in town and the least we can do is offer our support and our love. I’m sure we can all get along again as a family-“
Cinnabar’s throat was heavy, as if something was stuck inside of it and refused to be swallowed. As if someone had sat on Cinnabar’s ribcage, pushing all the air out of their lungs, and Cinnabar wanted to cry, had to cry, but couldn’t.
“So they come back, now…” they murmured.
“Yes,” Euclase seconded them, happy to see a reaction from Cinnabar’s side, “Phos has come back home.”
way to end chap 1 on a cliffhanger, but thank you so much for reading to this point! I’ll be super happy if you give this AU a chance: I poured my soul into this story and I love how it came out.  I’m shooting for weekly chaps, but we’ll see how that goes. In the meantime let me know what you think of this: any kind of feedback is great!

The latest version of RPCS3 allows you to unlock the framerate of Playstation 3 games
The team behind the best Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, has released a brand new version of it. This latest version of RPCS3 has a new feature that allows you to unlock the framerate of a Playstation 3 game.
As the team noted, Vblank will allow you to change a game’s frame rate. This option is located in the advanced tab in emulator settings. Moreover, you can dynamically change vblank and clock scale while your game is running, to achieve your desired frame rate.
However, do note that not every game works with vblank settings. As such, you might need some game specific patches to unlock the framerate.
The game that work so far with an unlocked framerate are Skate 3, WipEout HD, Ni No Kuni and Yakuza Ishin. Oh, and almost all of Naughty Dogs’ games work with Vblank. Thus, and once the emulator has matured, you’ll be able to play Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us with unlocked framerates.
As always, you can download the latest version of RPCS3 from here.
Have fun!

Ashes and Dust (Part 2)
“Jinko?”
“Suna”
“What about Anko?”
“Dunno”
“Minato?”
“Nope”
Shikaku paused, raising himself to rest on his elbows as he fixed the blond with a curious look, “If he’s not on that squad and you haven’t seen him around your family compound...” trailing off, black hues narrowed a fraction, “Where do you think he could have gone?”
“Beats me” Blue hues blinked as a light breeze slapped a stray leaf on his cheek. Inoichi didn’t even bother to flick it off.
Next to him, Chouza opened another bag of rice crisps, “You don’t think any of the other villages are playing dirty, do you?” fingers pulled out two chips before the bag was invitingly dangled over Inoichi’s face, “I mean...he broke the Sandaime’s record and everything.”
Inoichi sighed before he too, pulled himself up via conveniently placed Akimichi wrist, “You guys worry too much” he grinned, looping both arms around their shoulders, “this is Namikaze we’re talking about! Wherever he is, he’s probably fine!”
Shikaku and Chouza exchanged a look. Inoichi was trying too hard to be cheerful, and it was very easy for them to tell, seeing as how they had spent so much time together. They were also the very few who knew that both boys shared a clan, though Inoichi happened to be from the main house whereas Minato’s parentage was somewhat vague at best.
What they didn’t know though, was that Inoichi had already asked.
“He’s been picked for a secret mission.” the patriarch was clearly busy, hands already unrolling a scroll, “seeing as how he’s the only one who made Chunin.”
Ouch. Inoichi felt his face burn a little in embarrassment though he dared not say a word to risk trying the elder Yamanaka’s temper. Said Yamanaka seemed to have noticed. Steely blue hues flickered to the younger male as his fingers paused, “I have faith in you, Inoichi.”
Eh?
He swore he saw the old man’s expression soften, though then again Inoichi might have been hallucinating “Someday, you will lead this clan and you’ll have to make decisions that will not only affect you, but this entire family and even the village.”
Blue hues blinked in surprise.
“Everyone has a role to play. I know you’ll be able to play yours.”
His father had conveniently sidestepped the issue, and that hadn’t been the first time. If Yamanaka Ichirou didn’t want to talk about something, not even the Hokage could get him to speak.
Still...it had been nice. He frowned a little at the memory, “He’s fine...”
Probably.
-----
Wet fingers fumbled with the seal that taped the scroll shut. So hasty was he in his attempts, he had forgotten the necessary chakra seals required until a manicured hand poked his shoulder in reminder.
Once the appropriate seals had been made, the scroll unfurled all over his lap - cue three pairs of curious hues as the newly titled Sanin leaned over the slanting script, the kanji clear and crisp on faded parchment.
Jiraiya,
I’m glad that the three of you managed to survive a run-in with Hanzo. The news of your successes and your new titles has definitely boosted our troops’ collective morale. Unfortunately, we don’t have time to celebrate - I want you three to wrap up matters in Ame as quickly as possible and then join our reinforcements at Kusa.
We, on the council’s approval, intend to make a final push against Iwa soon, and you three will be needed to further the objective.
Still no word of Minato, eh? Jiraiya’s lips pursed in a thin line as Orochimaru and Tsunade exchanged a look between themselves. They were not privy to Jiraiya’s internal monologue, though they were well aware of what it meant to go toe-to-toe with Iwa around that particular border.
Their resources were at their limits - it was either victory or utter defeat from here on and that particular outcome had just been placed squarely on their shoulders. Hatake Sakumo was already too occupied in Suna, and they couldn’t afford to pull Jonin from where they were stationed in the many, many, outposts littering the border of Hi no Kuni.
That, coupled with their recent escapades had the village leadership turning to them. White brows furrowed at the thought, as he raised his head to look at his teammates who appeared just as battered as he was. Tsunade met his expression with a pensive one of her own, whereas Orochimaru simply sighed, standing to regain his spot before the rocky precipice. The wind whipped his inky hair around his shoulders, but neither Jiraiya nor Tsunade had to look at him to know what he was thinking.
They would probably head out tomorrow, though he had an empty feeling in the pit of his stomach that he knew had nothing to do with hunger. The Sandaime had ignored his constant queries after his wayward student, and Jiraiya was no fool.
The will of fire must keep burning in order to illuminate the village, from where tree leaves will bud a-new.
Cue the timely crack of thunder, announcing a fresh bout of rain.
-----
The night was quiet, apart from the occasional, low drone of machinery and the occasional cricket that tittered from somewhere in the mess of concrete and wood that comprised the streets of Sora no Kuni. The moon hid behind one particularly towering structure, its light streaming in patches across the dark alleys. One particular strand illuminated crimson locks before they disappeared, leading a casual witness to deem it a trick of misplaced brick.
The land of the Sky, as it had come to call itself, had recently emerged to challenge the five great shinobi nations, a feat that usually did not merit much notice since they weren’t called the five great shinobi nations for nothing.
However, what made it a threat was the presence of arms and machinery - coupled with the fact that they had practically announced the fact that they would destroy the nations - starting from Hi no Kuni - from the very heavens.
The declaration made it their problem. Technology was troublesome and something Konoha did not possess in abundance you see; and at that point in time, they could not afford a new contender in a war such as this. The fact, coupled with their dwindling resources made it the perfect training dummy of sorts. Light hues flickered to colored counterparts at the thought, taking in the sick pallor of the kunoichi’s face. They hadn’t given her enough time to recuperate from their training sessions, nor from handling constantly fluctuating demonic chakra and he could see that it was beginning to take its toll on her.
Well, tough. “Just like we practiced.” He said, to which she turned even paler, if it were possible. Gloved digits pulled out an inscribed scrap of paper, “Its fine. We have reinforcements if it comes down to it.”
“Iie. You don’t know what the Kyubi can do.” The whisper was firm, though laced with disdain, as pale fingers curled into tight fists by her sides. Kushina was adamant, “Mito sama never meant for the vessel to be used this way.”
Cue a frown that the Uzumaki couldn’t see, “Times have changed...” he began, nimble fingers already forming seals; the air had shifted around them, though in all the wrong ways, “And you don’t get to complain.” The inscribed bit of paper was slapped on to her forehead before she could move, the kanji already bleeding on to her features; black ink drawing out frothing, burning chakra that wrapped around her limbs. Her eyes had grown wide, petrified as blood enveloped the startled iris.
The malevolent chakra forced him to take a step back. A masked gaze took note of the bubbling tails that had begun to sprout from her altered form, and what had once been a kunoichi was now a snarling beast on all fours. Empty white sockets almost zeroed in on him before he disappeared in a swirl of leaves, leaving nothing but the concrete around them to suffer the beast’s wrath.
History would later report that Sora no Kuni was destroyed in a single night. Nothing but debris and burnt corpses remained.
--And the technology they had been so proud of? Twisted heaps of scrap metal amidst splatters of thick blood.
----
Pale blue hues stared at despondent digits as he willed them to move - only to get a slight twitch of his index finger in reply. Frustrated, he knocked his head back into metal, tired lids fluttering shut.
He was more than exhausted, if that was possible --- and maybe if he hit his head hard enough, he’d manage to give himself a concussion.
Cue the steady sound of dripping fluid as his hooded gaze narrowed at the dark smudges lining the opposite wall. How many days had it been? The thought prompted a frown, though more at the loss of his sense of time and space - they were at war, weren’t they? He had rescued Kushina just yesterday...
Right?
At times like these - which were rare, seeing as how this was the only other instance - he wondered, not for the first time, what Jiraiya sensei would do.
|| Special thanks to @senjutsunade for tolerating my ranting/whining/moping. ^^;

Rumour: The Outer Worlds Release Date Leaked On Steam?
A highly anticipated game this year is the release of The Outer Worlds, a sci-fi action RPG by Obsidian. While details of the title have been many, the release date has not been shared. A recent change on their Steam page however may have just outed the release date.
According to the Steam DB website, an added release date popped up on February 22nd, detailing a launch on August 6th 2019 for The Outer Worlds. However, this was removed later that day, but can still be seen on the Steam DB changelog. The fact that is was added and then hastily removed, could leave us to believe that this date might be true.
If this date is true, we could be seeing more of the game at E3 2019 as this takes place before August. Nothing has been confirmed by either Obsidian Entertainment or Private Division. Until then we will keep you posted with any details we learn. The Outer Worlds will be available with a physical version for PS4 and Xbox One, while PC will remain digital.

Fallout 76
In a post on the Bethesda website, the developer has outlined the upcoming updates for the Fallout 76 while addressing some of the player concerns. They acknowledge the rough start the game has had, and want to help improve the title “together”.
In addition to continue to make adjustments to the game, Bethesda have a year long plan for updates which will be free content for players. The plan is split into three parts, the first called Wild Appalachia coming in Spring 2019, the second Nuclear Winter that is set to launch in Summer, and lastly Wasterlanders coming in Fall.
These include the new survival mode that was announced back in January, which comes with quests and new features for Spring. High level vault raids, new mode called Nuclear Winter for Summer, as well as further quests, events and features towards the end of the year.

The Division 2
Running up to the launch of the The Division 2 beta, Ubisoft release a new trailer highlighting the roles players can choose in the endgame and more about the group infiltrating Washington called the “The Black Tusk”.
The new trailer featuring what players will be able do in the endgame of The Division 2. Not only teasing raids, new quests but highlighting the three choices of skill specialisations: Survivalist, Demolitionist or Sharpshooter. The trailer talks about The Black Tusk, a group that are wreaking havoc, “this army was designed to eliminate Washington’s last line of defence”.
Not only concentrating on content for the release but also post-launch content which includes a “full year of free additional story-driven missions, map expansions and gameplay modes”.
It’s a positive sign that the developers are thinking about the longevity of the game, focusing on what players can do after the main campaign has finished. Hopefully they can bring enough to keep players coming back for more.
The Division 2 comes to PS4, Xbox One and PC on March 15th 2019 with the beta coming March 1st until March 4th.

Sekiro
The new boss revealed via the Sekiro official Twitter account and the Playstation Europe Youtube channel shares The Chained Ogre. Much like the previous bosses we have seen in trailers before, such as the Lady Butterfly and General Tenzen Yamauchi, we get to see a teaser of what’s to come.
The Chained Ogre’s most outstanding feature is his glowing red eyes that burn with rage. This brute draws his strength from anger and looks like he has a good punch or two considering his hand is larger than Sekiro’s head. Emerging from what appears to be a prison, he bursts onto the scene breaking away from his bonds already enraged.
Players will have to come up with strategies to beat this brutish Ogre, while being wary of combat features including Posture which depletes as you strike your enemies as well as perform finishers. If you want to know more about combat you can find out more in our Sekiro Gameplay And Hands-On Gameplay And Impressions.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be releasing on March 22nd 2019 on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom DLC
After almost year after its release, Level-5 and Bandai Namco Entertainment are still adding some content to the fantasy RPG game Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom. The upcoming DLC called The Tale of a Timeless Tome will be coming March 19th.
The DLC will focus on “new memories of Evan’s friends, more fighting methods, new locations, and characters.” Not only introducing a new story but new combat methods that will “enhance the players’ battle abilities: the Wizard’s Companion and Martha’s Method”. Players will be able to explore a new location the Solosseum Slog.
Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom’s The Tale of a Timeless Tome DLC will be available on March 19th PC and PS4 for $14.99 or is free if you purchased the season pass.

Dead Cells DLC Rise of the Giant
The action-platformer Dead Cells is going to receive a free DLC which has been in production for nine months by the developer Motion Twin.
The new DLC called Rise of the Giant is now accessible to those who opt-in beta for PC for Dead Cells. In a video that was released by Red Bull, it shows off the gameplay gaining a closer look at what went into making the DLC, but warning as it contains some spoilers. We get to see the new final area called the Cavern which can be unlocked after beating the game for the first time after defeating the colossal skeletal boss.
Motion Twin share some of the details in their latest patch notes for The Rise of the Giant DLC update and it will be a big one. Not only including the Cavern area and boss, but also a second new area and boss to beat as well. Both are only accessible once you have reached Boss-Cells 5 which is a more challenging difficulty requiring you to beat the final boss five times.
You will also encounter ten new enemies, some of which will appear in certain new locations, and some that will pop up when you play in a higher difficulty. There’s also a new Skinning system, gain over 50 character outfits that can be sought out by collecting blueprints. Motion Twin are also adding three new skills which includes a flying pet, as well as ten new weapons, these include Giant Killer and Boï Axe.
So far Twin Motion have not revealed a release date for the Rise of the Giant update but it will be available for free to those who own Dead Cells on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Pokemon Sword and Shield
A special Nintendo Direct which took place on Pokemon Day, the developer finally share the reveal of the upcoming Pokemon games to hit the Nintendo Switch which is part of Generation 8. Rumours have been flying whether this special Nintendo Direct would share the next game and I guess the netziens got it right as that’s exactly what they did. The trailer was shown and also shared that the games will release “late 2019”.
Not only showing some of the environments trainers will be exploring but also some of the Pokemon that will inhabit them. We get to see new Pokemon which included monkey type creature called Grookey, a bunny with flames aptly called Scorbunny, and a lizard type that has the ability to go invisible in water called Sobble. Some gameplay was seen in the Direct but not extensively, showing that the grassy plains will bring back random encounters that has been a part of the series since the beginning.
Sword and Shield are directed by Shigeru Ohmori who was behind the Sun and Moon entries of the game, and has been working on the series since 2002 Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. However, this might not just be it for The Pokemon Company in terms of Pokemon games, they teased there may be others in works for the franchise, but no details have been shared as of yet.

Kingdom Hearts 3
In an interview with the Japanese website Dengki Online, Kingdom Hearts 3 Direct Tetsuya Nomura reveals that a paid DLC will be coming at the end of this year.
Not only will the DLC be quite large in size, a Critical Mode will be added to the game. So far Tetsuya hasn’t specified if the Critical Mode will be coming as part of a free DLC or as part of the paid DLC.
Critical Mode will be coming soon, but it won’t be an artificial difficulty level which makes enemies deal higher damage, it will actually include a lot of changes and has been described as “fun like only Critical mode can be”.
Nomura has also solidified the fact that Kingdom Hearts 3 will not have a Final Mix version like others in the series, but instead gain new additions that will be coming in the form of DLCs. There will be free DLCs and paid DLCs. Free DLCs will be released now and again, but the purchasable DLC will come in a pack. The aim for the KH3 team is to complete the DLCs before the end of 2019 and to start working on the next game. But it looks like Nomura has a busy year ahead, with a full schedule of projects, so he has not begun to plan for the next Kingdom Hearts game.
To read more about this news find it here in Kingdom Hearts 3 To Get Large Paid DLC and Critical Mode Announced.
Darksiders 3
The first DLC for Darksiders 3 is now available to purchase for $6.99, bringing a wave-based challenge mode which sets players to try survive “101 waves of gruelling combat, fit only for the toughest and steadfast of warriors”. Players will also have a chance to pick up new armor sets, all new enchantments and even rare crafting materials for weapons and enhancements.
New items can be gained in-game from Targon the Crucible Overseer, also known as the brother of Kargon who appeared in the Darksiders 2, master of The Crucible.
Gunfire Games have also revealed some of the details of how the wave mode will work, explaining that you will face 25 waves at a time, each time being offered a choice to take the reward or to continue on, risking the chance of losing everything.
Darksiders 3 released last year in November and is available to play on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. You can now pick up the DLC The Crucible for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One for $6.99, £5.99, €6.99 depending on your region.

The first game I’m going to be posting about from here on is Alice in the Country of Hearts. I’ve translated my way through a few games before this, but since I was playing through them just for my own interest in the games, I didn’t make fully fleshed-out scripts. This time, however, I’ve decided to make sure every line gets translated (at least for the route I end up taking, not the entire game).
To start by giving some background, the Alice in Hearts series is one I fell in love with many years ago now, and considering that the games never received a proper English release (it did have an official iOS release, but the translation was so bad it was nearly incomprehensible), this was one of the first major motivators to my desire to genuinely learn Japanese. I was still in school at the time though, so learning a new language just wasn’t practical. However, in recent years, I’ve really invested quite a lot of time into my efforts towards learning the language. I’m completely self-taught, so there are many things I’m certain I still don’t grasp, but this is a passion project for me, so I don’t mind that it’s slow-going. I’m just happy to see how far I’ve come, and the progress I’ve been able to make ^-^
For those of you familiar with the Alice series, yes, I’m aware that Marchen Translations (https://marchentranslations.wordpress.com/) have recently completed their 100% translation of Anniversary no Kuni no Alice. If you’ve ever been interested in the series, or simply want to check it out for yourself in it’s complete form right now, I highly recommend playing it with their patch.
This, however, is my personal project. I’m going to work my way through the game on my own for learning purposes, with the added bonus of playing something I’ve wanted to get through for years. I have no intention of scripting this game in it’s entirety, but I will script whichever routes I choose to play through as completely as I can.
Again, I am not professional, so I’m sure my scripts will have flaws. But, if you see something incorrect, it would be a great help if you let me know. That way I can correct myself and learn where I can improve.
As a side note, I have scripted the character of the White Rabbit with a constant rhyming scheme, in reference to his speech patterns in some of the official manga. Because of this, his lines diverge more from the original Japanese, but hopefully still convey his sentiments accurately
Since I’ll be playing through the game in my free time, there won’t be any kind of schedule for posts/ updates, but I’ll aim to have a new chunk of script added every week or two.
TLDR: I’ve been a gamer all my life, and now I’m using the medium I love to teach myself Japanese. Feel free to correct me on mistakes in my script, or just enjoy the story along with me as I go.
Now, on to Alice in the Country of Hearts~!

Cat Fights And Closed Doors | Mi-ke | Chapter 4 | Trial 4.3 | Re: Kris, Miyu, Mitsuo, Shinobu, Hikaru, Solith Attn: Joon
Ah, Kris’ comment go Mi-ke a little surprised. Shit, he noticed the wet patch. Ah, it was a little too big to be tears though. Mi-ke gave a nervous sound and quickly reached out to take Shiba’s had. Please hand hold the same away dear puppy.
“I didn’t consider that drowning could cause cardiac arrest… Oh, and actually, Takako Imai has nothing to do with the wet mark. That’s cause I jumped into the lake then lied in your bed, Shizu. Sorry if it smells like fish now. But yeah, my hair is a bit shorter and Miyu-nee is right. It got cut by Mitsuo Ueno, who is telling the story wrong.”
This hardly had to do with the murder, but Mi-ke would never miss the chance to place the blame on Mitsuo. Why? Because they hated him so much they wanted him to die. They wanted nobody to forgive him.
Tumblr media
“I came to the kitchen to confront him about the twister he let loose. We could have died. Tornados are dangerous, more so than he’s properly acknowledging. So I pushed him, but I was the one who ended up falling. He started edging toward the knives so I tried to punch him, but he pulled a knife on me before I could. He cut my hair, then I disarmed him and he ran away. Simple as that. I had no intention to hurt him more than punch. It was stupid and impulsive of me, and I am in the wrong here, but it does prove that Mitsuo had access to my hair. I left the kitchen as soon as I gathered enough snacks for me and Shiba, so I didn’t bother to clean it.”
Hearing Shinobu talk was incredibly upsetting, they let out a whine and reached out to him. There was nothing they could do though. This was Mitsuo’s fault. It was all his fault, and nobody else’s they decided. Why Shinobu would bother caring about that monster made no sense to them. But then again, it was the same for their second suspect.
Tumblr media
“I think… This case is somewhat different. Last time the glitter, the magical residue, wasn’t on clothing. It was all over the kitchen. I think this is a different spell, and if I’m to be honest, I actually don’t think Mitsuo is the murderer. Why? Because there’s someone else who is suspect.”
They turned to Clove so they didn’t have to look at the sad Shinobu. They wanted so much to hug him and tell him it was all alright, but it wasn’t and they weren’t. Nothing was okay anymore.
“The potions are for my second suspect. Joon-young Myung, or as I call him, Bengal. The thing is, it was a clothing based spell. When I spoke to him before, Bengal claimed to have already used his major spell this week, and that nobody was around when he did it. While he claimed his clothing spell made high heels, only Mitsuo Ueno, suspected murderer and all around bad person, can verify that. Plus, that’s just one spell. He’s a model, and I think he’d be able to use clothing based spells. While he and Mitsuo might not directly have been working together, it’s possible it turned out that way. There’s another thing.
“Bengal and Kunie are close friends, and I think if Kunie thought that Bengal was in danger, they might have lied about seeing him use the tunnel. They are writing a book together, after all. All of Seiryuu knows Bengal’s used the tunnel before. So that’s a possibility. Given the water trail from the scene of the murder leads to the abandoned clothes in the forest and up the tunnel into Seiryuu dorm, the shirt obviously came this way. Additionally, I’d like it noted that Bengal refused to allow me to look in his closet while investigating his room, and fact I warned him would come up at trial. Apparently he said the same to Bluebell and Curly Hair.
“This is why I ask Bengal to take this potions and display not only his personal minor spell, but also his major. There’s more than enough MP here for that, correct?”
