βμ" and "μ" can both be translated to "inside" in English. However, they have slightly different usage.
(1) "μ" is typically used to describe the inside of a physical space such as a building, room, or object. It is used to indicate the location of something, or the place where something is happening. For example, "μ§ μ" (inside the house), "λ°© μ" (inside the room), or "λ³ μ" (inside the bottle). It is used to express the idea of being on the inside of something physical.
E.g.
λ°© μμμ λμμ (Let's play inside the room)
μ°¨ μμμ κΈ°λ€λ €μ (Wait inside the car)
(2) "μ" (inside) typically refers to the innermost thoughts or feelings of a person or the inner workings of something. It is used to express the idea of something being hidden or not visible. For example, "λ§μ μ" (inside the heart), "머리 μ" (inside the head), or "λ°©μ μ" (inside the method). It often implies a meaning of secrets, mystery, and being hidden.
Additionally, "μ" is used to indicate that something is located within a more natural or open space, such as a forest, field, or body of water. For example, "μ² μμμ" means "within the forest" and "λ°λ€ μμμ" means "within the sea"- λ°λ·μ is also a word that means βplace under the seaβ
E.g.
λμ 머리 μμλ λͺ¨λ κ²μ΄ λ€μμ¬ μμ΄μ (Everything is mixed up inside my head)
μ² μμμ μΌμ λλ¬Όλ€μ λ°κ²¬ν΄μ (Discover wild animals inside the forest)
(3) Another way to differentiate βμ" and "μ is based on their antonym. The opposite of μ" is "κ²" (surface, exterior). While the opposite of "μ" is "λ°" (outside). Therefore, "μ" is more like the inner part of something.
(4) In some cases, "μ" and "μ" can be interchangeable. It depends on the context and the specific meaning that the speaker or writer wants to convey.
E.g.
"μ§ μμ" (inside the house) and "μ§ μμ" (inside the house) can be used interchangeably, as both express the idea of being inside a physical location. However, "μ§ μ" might imply being inside the building and specifically in certain rooms, while "μ§ μ" might imply the atmosphere or the feeling inside the house.
μ°λ¦¬ μ§ μμλ λ κ°μ λ°©μ΄ μμ΄μ. (There are two rooms inside our house)
β βμ" is used to indicate the physical interior of a building or structure, in this case, the interior of the speaker's house
μ°λ¦¬ μ§ μμλ κΉ¨λν κ³΅κΈ°κ° μμ΄μ. (There is clean air inside our house)
β "μ" is used to indicate the atmosphere or environment within a certain space. So, itβs emphasizing the quality of the air inside the house, rather than the physical structure of the house.
ππ¨π«π ππ±ππ¦π©π₯ππ¬:
1. λμκ΄ μμμ 곡λΆν΄μ. (I study inside the library)
2. μμ μμ λκ° μμ΄μ?" (What is inside the box?)
3. μ±
μμλ μ΄μΌκΈ°κ° μ ν μμ΄μ. (There's a story written inside the book.)
4. κ·Έλ
μ λ§μ μμλ λΆμμ΄ μμμ΄μ. (She had anxiety inside her heart)
5. κ·Έλ
μ μΌκ΅΄μ κΈ°μ΅ μμμ κ³μ μμνκ² μ΄μ μμ΄μ. (Her face continues to live vividly in my memory.)
6. κΏ μμμλ μ°λ¦¬λ μμν ν볡νμ΅λλ€. (In my dream, we were forever happy)
ππ¨ππ: The information above is my understanding of the differences between "μ" and "μ". However, keep in mind that in real life, there may be exceptions and special cases that are different from this. Therefore, it is important to use "μ" and "μ" in the context and meaning you want to convey.

Because of Korea's collectivistic culture, some people are embarrassed to eat alone and are even afraid of being pitied by others. Furthermore, some Korean restaurants do not even serve single portions.
However, as the number of people living alone has increased, solo diners are becoming more common.
As a result, new phrases are now widely used.
1. νΌλ°₯ - νΌμ λ°₯ λ¨ΉκΈ° - Eating alone
2. νΌμ - νΌμ μ λ§μκΈ° - Drinking alone
3. νΌμ - νΌμ μν보기 - Watching movies alone
4. νΌν - νΌμ μ¬ν κ°κΈ° - Traveling alone
Those term is getting popular also due to the drama νΌμ λ¨λ
(Drinking Solo) and TV show λ νΌμ μ°λ€ (I Live Alone). Besides, BTS Suga also has a song called Honsool (νΌμ ).
