It wasn't that long since I started reading Korean manhwa/webtoons besides Japanese manga, and recently I got into the historical-fantasy genre webtoons/manhwa where out of all of them, The Fantasie of a Stepmother (A Stepmother's Märchen) is my No. 1 fav in the list. I just love the story and the characters and more so than that, I'm in love with the main male lead of the story, Norra Von Nurnberger.
(The greenest of the green flags and I'm a simp for him now!!!)

ROXANA (Chapter 37)
*E/N: Thanks for 100 followers! I'm having a lot of fun editing these chapters, and I hope you're all having as much fun reading them :)
–––
As he ran, Cassis shot a sharp glance back at Jeremy, who had recovered from his surprise and was now looking far more relaxed. Cassis could hear Jeremy’s nasty laugh echoing behind him.
Disoriented by the initial chaos, Cassis had accidentally gotten stabbed by the Karantul’s pincer-like legs, and he was starting to feel its effects. First, the numbness spread through his limbs, before it was replaced by a cold, tingling sensation.
‘Shit,’ he thought. ‘Why are they breeding such things here?’
The surrounding atmosphere was now completely engulfed in the dense smell of poison emanating from the escaped monsters.
“Help me- HEUK!”
Cassis stopped and swung his head around just in time to see the woman who had cried for help get crushed in the jaws of another huge monster.
More monsters were advancing towards Cassis in the meantime, and while his chains were effective in curbing their attacks, there was a limit to how much he could attack without a proper weapon.
He clenched his teeth while shaking off a monster that had tried to bite him, hurriedly looking backwards for a possible escape route- but not before the monster’s poison tail sank its spike into him.
* * *
“Your clothes are getting dirty, my lady.”
As soon as Emily’s hand touched the monster, its black body withdrew with a terrible and piercing scream.
“You don’t have to do anything, so please step back.” Roxana extended her arm towards Emily’s ungloved hand. “Try not to use your power- I don’t want your life force depleting for nothing.”
Emily bowed her head in acknowledgement.
Behind us, Grizelda dislodged an iron bar from a cage, using it as a weapon to defend herself from the monsters.
Those who couldn’t fend for themselves huddled the middle of the greenhouse, away from the glass walls and fighting members of the Agriche soldiers.
I moved toward Grizelda, breaking off an overturned table leg and stabbing it in an advancing monster’s eye to kill it.
“I have to leave,” I said.
“Because of Cassis?” She asked, almost sympathetically. I nodded.
“Yeah,” she sighed. “I have a feeling this is all Jeremy’s fault. Just one of his stupid pranks. I hope your toy isn’t too badly hurt.”
 * * *
Cassis had been running for what seemed like centuries, and yet… he had no idea where he was, or where he was going. The Agriche mansion was truly a labyrinth. His limbs were tiring, and his brain was aching. Yet another monster appeared in front of him; Cassis grabbed the sword of a fallen Agriche soldier, and lunged.
* * *
“Someone- someone save me!”
Just then, someone jumped over the monster’s head. The man moved deftly, driving a sword through its forehead. The Karantul fell with a shrill cry.
“Oh… thank you, sir!”
Cassis had no reason to help the people of Agriche. But he also couldn’t ignore a person’s cry for help.
Moreover, it was partly his fault that people were getting hurt by the monsters- after all, Jeremy had only released the monsters to hurt Cassis.
“Oh, good. You’re alive.”
As if summoned by Cassis’ thoughts, Jeremy appeared in the tree above him.
 Cassis cocked his head. “You’re happy to see me alive?”
“Yeah. I guess. If you died, I’d kind of be in a lot of shit, so…” Jeremy trailed off.
“Bullshit. You were the one who let the monsters out in the first place.”
Jeremy opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by the thumping of dismembered Karantul body parts landing several feet away from Jeremy and Cassis.
“What’s going on?”
A deep, languid voice emerged from behind the Karantul’s corpse. The man had black hair and red eyes- an exact- but much younger- carbon copy of Lanche Agriche.
“Are you in the middle of walking your dog?” The man continued, wiping his sword on the coattails of his blazer.
Cassis looked at Jeremy, who was gritting his teeth in frustration. “Fucking Dion… fucking bitchass,” the younger Agriche muttered under his breath.
Dion ignored the jibe. “Jeremy. Did you open the door to the feedlot?”

honestly I think there three simple types of people in the Necromancer Survival fandom:
those who have read the novel and are mostly having the greatest and scariest time of their lives 🤗❤️
the manhwa readers probably part of a Lackey Appreciation cult, and still confused about the “we hear your thoughts” thing or have excused it to bad translation 😎👍🏼
Finally, those who have read both, who are living the full experience happily, but are maybe having a hard time seeing the shortcuts of the manhwa and have a different love for characters depending on the format 💃✨
So who are you :) ?? Was I correct?

I will master this family spoilers (?)
I'm a little upset that the artist/s did not illustrate the part where Shananet held Firentia's hand when Dr. Estira stitched the injury she got from helping Lulak. It was so cute. Tia's nails dug into her auntie's palm because it was painful, and when Tia noticed, she tried to pull away but Shananet held her niece's hand tighter. After that, Tia apologized, and Shananet, known for her honest personality, told her she was a strong girl 💓 I loved that scene so much.
But still, I'm so excited for the next chapters. I was overjoyed at the check counterfeit scene.
"Other than being a woman, is there anything you're better than me at?"
Dumb Viese thought that his sister's divorce w/Vestian is a 'weakness', but she retorted back: "I didn't do anything wrong, so I am not ashamed." and "If I'm the joke of the family, then what does that make you?"
I LOVED THAT CHAPTER IN THE NOVEL, AND THE ARTIST/S CAPTURED IT AS I IMAGINED IT.
Super excited at the part where Tia says "It's a trade secret." to Shananet. I think Shananet was amused as Clerivan said the same thing before.

ROXANA (Chapter 79)
*E/N: The forward slashes in Scene Two “ / … / ” denote a flashback (either Roxana thinking about a previous occurrence, or a direct excerpt from an earlier chapter).
–––
After a while, Cassis quietly shut the curtains and left the room.
“Brother!”
Sylvia appeared to have been waiting for him. “Has she woken up? Can I go in to see her?” Her eyes were shining and curious- she had been desperate to meet Roxana since Cassis told her about his stay at House Agriche three years ago.
“In a while. She’s still sleeping.”
Sylvia looked disappointed, but soon smiled and stepped forward. “Then I’ll go prepare some flowers for when she awakens. It would be a nice welcome present!”
Cassis regarded his sister with warmth, and hoped that in time, Roxana would be able to smile with that much brightness.
* * *
“Sigh…” Roxana let out a breath. The warm water both relaxed and invigorated her body, releasing all the exhaustion she had accumulated from sleeping for so long.
It was the first time she had rested so much, and she wondered if it had made up for all those years of missing sleep.
Roxana looked around- the bathroom was as spacious and tidy as the bedroom she was in, and subtle, floral scent of Sylvia’s flowers had permeated the entire space. Roxana remembered the face that Sylvia had made when they’d met just a while ago- those innocent eyes, that wide smile.
/
‘Flowers seem to brighten my mood,’ Sylvia had said. She had been so friendly, in fact, that Roxana felt as though they had been friends for a long time.
‘I wanted to pick the prettiest flower in the garden, but their beauty seems to have faded in the face of yours!’ She laughed, bright and cute, and Roxana was rendered speechless.
Suddenly, Sylvia stopped. ‘Oh! I’m sorry!’ She sounded embarrassed. ‘I was in such a hurry that I forgot to introduce myself. But I was at the reunion meeting this time-!’
‘Sylvia.’ The name had slipped out of Roxana’s mouth.
Sylvia’s smile grew brighter.
/
In the original novel, Sylvia was not a girl who harboured such unspoilt joy and youthfulness- or at least not at this point in the novel. After all, it was a tragic novel, and as it progressed, her purity and brightness depleted dramatically- from the time she heard the news of Cassis’ death, up until the time she executed her revenge.
However, seeing Sylvia’s lively person made Roxana feel… strange. It felt similar to watching a more mature Cassis after three years of no contact. Still, it brought her slight relief.
She thought about Sylvia age- the same as Jeremy’s- before sinking her entire body into the water to stop her thoughts from drifting.
The sun had already set by the time Roxana finished bathing. She covered herself in a robe and sat on the sofa, falling asleep almost immediately.
Soon after, the feeling of someone moving her body woke her up. “What are you doing?” She said in unconscious defence.
“You should rest on the bed,” Cassis said as his face entered Roxana’s vision. How long have I been sleeping?
“Are we at House Pedelian?”
“Yes.”
* * *
Eventually, the two ended up having late dinner as Cassis requested. However, Roxana still didn’t have an appetite, so she opened her mouth haphazardly at intervals and fiddled with the spoon in her hand.
“Your sister seemed happy to see me.”
“I’m not surprised.” Roxana couldn’t glean anything from Cassis’ lukewarm response, but she could see his eyes soften.
She had been surprised by how welcoming Sylvia was, and began wondering about what Cassis had told her about Roxana. Should I thank Cassis for speaking well of me?
But it didn’t matter, anyway- she was more concerned with where she was currently. I’ve just followed Cassis to House Pedelian for now, but I don’t think it’s going to be my residence for long.
“It’s quiet here. Is there no one living in this house?”
“It’s an annex for guest accommodation. We don’t really use it.”
There were probably two reasons for Roxana’s placement in the annex. Firstly, because she held a substantial and borderline uncontrollable amount of poison within her, and secondly, because she was an Agriche.
Of course, while Cassis brought her back to house Pedelian without hesitation, there was obviously a need for him to be careful about his behaviour now.
With that thought, Roxana glanced over at Cassis. In turn, he hardened his eyes.
