Getting arrested with the Mortal Kombat Krew: Earthrealm Edition

Johnny Cage: I would LOVE to be arrested with Johnny. Probably did something pretty funny to get arrested. (like spray painting dicks onto a billboard of his own movie.) I feel like he's been arrested before and knows the drill. Just chats all time, probably signs autographs for the police officers, will 100% have my back, no matter what. 9/10 it's probably a good time.

Kung Lao: Suddenly 'forgets' how to speak english. Will cooperate, but begrudgingly. Doesn't trust cops (good boy) and will Just Not Talk to them. Of course he was arrested, he is wearing a Blade Hat in public. 6/10 He is probably the reason i got arrested but at least it's fun to watch him barely cooperate.

Jax: Lets face it, the only reason he got arrested is because he let the police arrest him. His cyber arms make him very intimidating and the cops don't fuck around with him. 9/10 I feel like he would totally have my back in the detainment cell.

Liu Kang: Sweet child has No Idea what's going on. He was just beating people up in the street??? Like he is supposed to??? Why are people angry at him??????? When explained to him, he is distraught and feels like he has brought shame to the Wu Shi Academy and to Raiden. (It's not that deep sweetie) 4/10 He is absolutely no help in this situation - he won't help me, i have to help him.

Kenshi: This man said "Fuck the Cops" with his whole chest. He is going to be a brat the whole time, he is talking back to the officers at every opportunity. He will also constantly emphasise his blindness and try to use it to take the blame off himself. (Even though we all know he is more dangerous than the average fully sighted person) 3/10 He is definitely making the situation worse than it already is.

Sonya: Holy shit, what happened for Sonya to get arrested???? If i get arrested with Sonya, something has gone terribly terribly wrong. She straight up fights the police. She is fighting fire with fire, it's terrifying. I am 100% asking to be moved to a different cell so i don't accidentally catch her hands. 1/10 the arrest is terrible and the cell stay is even worse. The one plus side is she might be able to spring us out if she pulls on military background.

Alright I legit didn't see this before? Somehow???

Ok so basically, I've been working on a Mortal Kombat AU/Rewrite/whatever that I've been calling MK: Karnate (that's a working title, I need to figure out something more elegant). Legit all I want to do with it is take the parts of the franchise I like and smash them together like a stew

The post this ask was in reference to (I think) was because I had been figuring out how I wanted to incorporate the Kombat Kids in this timeline

(got kinda long winded about it. Oops!)

Now, for Jin, Cassie, and Jacqui this isn't too much of an issue. I mostly just want to give them more interesting stuff to do that sets them apart from their predecessors. Takeda however...

Well Kenshi is much younger than the rest of the Klassic Krew in this AU. Around the time of DA, he's 22. Cassie and Jacqui were born just after MK4 (which i think is best placed in 1994) and would be 8-ish. I think you can see the problem

So honestly my options for Takeda were either Kenshi being an extremely young father (which makes me uncomfy) or T himself being younger than his peers (not ideal). So he's not Kenshi's son anymore.

He's still related to him, and inherited the latent telepathy of the Takahashi clan. Suchin Takahashi is still his mother, but she was a former Shirai Ryu who married a distant relative of Kenshi's. Takeda's father was killed at some point (perhaps at the hands of the Red Dragon) and, in pursuit of vengeance, Suchin became a vigilante.

Kenshi, while working for SF, learns that the Red Dragon is preparing to kill her and it mostly follows the way it went in the MKX prequel comic.

Sensing the telepathic potential in the tiny Takeda, Kenshi decides that the best place for him would be with the last remaining Shirai Ryu. After all, in this AU I have Scorpion (and Sub-zero, of course) in a loose mentor role for Kenshi, so it's not weird that he'd trust Takeda with him.

This all boils down to Kenshi being more of a distant Older Brother to Takeda than a Deadbeat Dad, with Hanzo being allowed to actually be acknowledged as Takeda's surrogate/adoptive father.

I just think it's neat :3

My thoughts on MK1(2) story mode

I don't want this too sound too negative. I did have a lot of fun with the batshit that was the final chapter. It was insane and fun and cool to see all those cameos.

But it wasn't what I wanted. When the first trailer came out, I was looking forward to a Back to Basics story. And we got that for the first chunk of the story, and it was really good. They created a new crew that I was interested in. Johnny and Kenshi teaming up with Ashrah, Syzoth, and Baraka? I didn't know that kind of random crew could be so cool. I just wanted more of that.

And then the story just threw out every character I had grown attached to. Threw them out and replaced them with a hundred new characters who were all killed off in a few seconds and forgotten a few seconds later. Sure, it was a spectacle, and I loved watching it. But at that point, I no longer cared. Even Shang Tsung was a disappointing final boss. I grew to care about the new Shang Tsung as a threat, and I no longer care about this one.

If it wasn't for the short epilogue, Every single character arc would have been thrown away. Most were. Bi-han, Kuai Liang, Ashrah, Syzoth, Barakah, Smoke, all characters I cared about who's stories were forgotten.

It wouldn't have mattered to me if the characters or their stories sucked. But they didn't. I truly wanted to see what happened to them. And they were all forgotten. Why write characters at all? Why give them the start of character arcs and foreshadowing their conclusion? If all you wanted to write was a big spectacle, then why did you bother with the first half of the game?

I feel cheated. Every character I came to this story rooting for was forgotten. I never got to see the finale of the story I started watching, and instead saw a high budget version of the Ultimate Showdown with the Fusion OCs I never returned to after 9th grade.

MK9's time travel story worked because at the center of it was Raiden and Lui Kang. Despite the cosmic scale of everything, it was the story about a man solely focused on a goal he keeps failing at, and a devotee realizing his God didn't know what he was doing.

MKX was the best story of the NT, because it was focused on itself. I loved all the characters introduced. Kotal and his krew, the Kombat Kids, it dealt very little with the timeline and focused on the characters themselves.

MK11 was not as good as X, but it did do some things right with the time travel element. The focus of the story mode was on how the characters reacted to it. I know Kronika isn't the most liked character, but she worked. Because the focus was more on how everyone reacted to what she did. I can remember so many feelings from the Kids interacting with the 9 krew, the 9 krew reacting to their future, that's what made it special. Sure, the climax similarly threw away a lot of characters, but it felt a lot less egregious because we had been following Lui Kang for three games and this was his climax.

And It should have been his last climax. I spent the first chapter following Kung Lao and Raiden. Johnny Cage was in almost every chapter after that in a major way. And yet, we never saw the climax to their story. We hear them talk about it, but we never see it.

I was robbed of the ending of the story I was invested in.

I know this sounds really negative, but I did really enjoy the story and the climax was a fun spectacle to watch. I just needed to get this rant off my chest.

Is it me or are these passing the mantle stories getting tiresome?

Like i would be ok with it. If they didn't screw up the character they are passing it down from so much and treating the protege character as some saint who can do no wrong or it being some savior complex type thing.

Like for example.

I would be totally down for liu kang being a god. If kitana,lao,and krew would be gods too. To replace the other gods. That would make sense for a journey completed story.

But nope all we get is kang. Like when he became a god,he didn't get corrupt before? Like we gonna ignore that? Somehow im supposed to believe liu is some perfect little saint who can do no wrong? Like liu didn't have faults too?

But somehow all the others who had reasonable faults despite the crappy NRS writing. Were still pretty enjoyable.

But somehow liu becomes a god,takes raidens job,and "saves" kung laos ancestor thru the power of friendship?!

Its like the difference between a homemade cookie and a cheepy store bought one. Sure the store bought is edible enough,but the homemade tastes better. Because its warm,soft,full of love and care,and handcrafted,just for you.

Like i hate how the characters minus a certain few are ignored,nerfed,going backwards in development,its completely bias of NRS and it reeks of it. And its shows so damn much. And some fans,not all. Don't talk bout it much. And it saddens me. Tho some of y'all do understand and dont put mk11 on a pedestal. Despite the delicious shang content us shang simps get. Oh and we get a lot of it. Hehe.

But even us. Shang lovers. Understand that the game and its story is lacking.

Why is it villain and or antagonist lovers always seem to do shit better?

I've been thinking about hair care and personal grooming and how I would help take care of my lover(s) if they needed the help. Haven't bathed in a few days after a mission, help get the hair down, gently untangle and brush the hair from end to roots with minimal tugging, and gently massage their head. After they get done bathing/showering, where we may or may not join them, we then help add oils to the roots and ends and message into it, of course adding kisses to since love help obviously. And any skin care that they may follow. Of course I'm thinking of Kung Lao but this also applies to the other kombat krew.

Princess Genesis. Almost 1,000,000,000 yrs old. White-to-purple gradient hair. 5’4. From the world of Kosmos, a world in the space of Earthrealm, these beings are basically stars, they live for millions of years. Genesis is the third child of the royal family, with two older brothers. Genesis is the chosen one to her world as Liu Kang is the chosen one to Earthrealm. She is the only one of her kind with white-to-purple hair, or purple hair in general. Those with this hair shall bring peace and order to the universe and have special hidden powers as well; which is why Genesis has being locked up in her palace most of her life. Her family did not want anything harmful to happen to her. During her time inside the palace, she was trained to become a fighter, in case something did happen to her, and to control her powers as well. Genesis and a vast majority of her people, can shapeshift and read minds. On occasion, she would sneak out during the late night to see the woods and explore town. Gods like Raiden and Fujin would occasionally come and visit and converse with the royal family. Genesis quickly became friends with them and would often tell her stories of the kombat tournaments and their friends as well. Unfortunately, the Elder Gods came to Kosmos, and had decided that the world was become overpowered - more powerful than the Elder Gods even. So, the Elder Gods has destroyed Kosmos, including its people. Genesis had fought back, especially against Cetrion. However, Genesis had lost the battle and was about to be slain by Genesis, but in Genesis’s fathers last dying moments, he transported her to the orbit of Earthrealm and Genesis had fallen down to Earthrealm. Waking up in Earthrealm, Genesis was scared. A new world, new life, new start. However, the destruction of her homeworld and people will leave a heavy scar in her mind. Something that will never go away. She meets the Kombat Kast due to her friendship to Raiden, but her mind is stuck on Kabal for some reason...Raiden warns her that he is a mercenary and works for the Black Dragon. But all that is put aside as she and Kabal start to get close...they get even closer when he asks her to move in with him. The relationship begins to blossom into something even bigger. They become a couple. Something Genesis never thought she have...

reptile: Points out the flaws in Erron’s plans and spends most of the time slamming his head against a wall in response. running joke is that no one draws attention to the fact that he’s a lizard.

ermac: gives sarcastic comments and is never seen eating, walking or doing anything human. a running joke is that people ask whether or not he’s human and is meant with the response: “we honestly don’t know.”

 future Erron: comes up with plans to get a partner. the problem is that he’s bad at it.

Ferra/Torr: Torr is the big silent guy who speaks only in grunts and a running joke is that only the friend group understands him. Ferra is the kid who persuaded Torr to join the group for fun. people ask whose child she is and everyone provides a different answer.

Antir had been returning to the Kahn’s Palace with herbal remedies as to not only restock their wares, but was also upholding his position of teaching new field medics for Kotal’s army.  He’d taken an alley way to cut around a small festival, only to find himself cornered a former lover.

Setting his bags down he turned to better face the Black Dragon. He wasn’t the scared and timid servant that he was on Shang Tsung’s Island anymore, so the Aussie didn’t scare him.  Additionally, he’d come to learn how to hold his own as one of the senior members of new generation of Lin Kuei.
