Always an experience watching the leftism leave FNAF fans when someone mentions that Scott Cawthon financially backed fascist politicians.
The switch from posting hardline leftist tweets about boycotts and signal boosts and critical takedowns of politicians and celebrities to ‘ohhh, well. everyone makes mistakes. who can blame him, listen he. he donated money to gay charities too. that makes it ok! a millionaire in his forties is allowed to have political beliefs. does it even matter? just let it go!’ is whiplash inducing. The antivaxxer celebrities have got to go, but this one horror dev who quietly handed wads of cash to antivax lawmakers? He’s chill, he can stay.
The charity thing is so funny too because suddenly utilitarian positive-negative point counting is the way to go. Maybe an abacus would help calculate the net good of donating to the Trevor Project minus donating thousands of dollars to Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump. -10 points if I push a kid in a lake but +11 points if I help an old lady across the street, so I’m chill. You can’t judge me. Hey, maybe. Just don’t push a kid in the lake period. How fucking low is the bar when we’re excusing maxing out the possible dollar amount of donations to Mitch fucking McConnell. That should be like. Default you’re a bad person.

anyway. this is your notice that I will be liberally blocking blogs pushing antivoting/both parties are the same/etc bullshit. I am fully Not Here For It, as someone living in a deeply red state. I have had actual human people, to my face, at my fucking retail job, advocate for civil war and treason and military overthrow of the federal government. I cannot EXPRESS to you how little fucking patience I have for leftist infighting at this point!!!

What's better, TB awareness or ethically sourced coffee?
I am a very, very big fan of our coffee, but...
If everyone in wealthy countries understood that TB has killed FORTY MILLION PEOPLE since the year 2000, and if everyone in wealthy countries was angry and disgusted by the ongoing horror of underfunded research and treatment distribution, then TB death rates would decline by 60 or 70% over the next decade, simply because more resources would be devoted to finding new treatments and effectively distributing current ones. (We've seen this happen before! Look at HIV/AIDS death between 2005 and 2015! They fell by over 50%, not primarily because of new treatments but because of a dramatic expansion of existing treatments. Same thing could happen with TB.)
Like, we might lose 20 million people in the 2030s to TB, not because it's an impossible problem to solve but because we do not treat the problems of impoverished communities the way we treat the problems of rich communities.
So yeah, TB awareness (and activism! and fundraising! and advocacy for patients!) is vastly, vastly more important than the world's best coffee.

If genocide joe loses the 2024 election don't cry about the people who understandably will not vote. I dont want trump but it'll be his own fault if he loses. If you still believe in the 2 party system you need to grow up
If you still believe that your own righteous fury is worth more than people's lives, then you also need to grow up. If a compromise will save lives, I'll compromise. I won't let people die holding out for a perfect solution that will never come.

Donald Trump wants voters to forget that he killed Roe v. Wade. Don't let people forget what he did.
Trump’s fundamental disinterest in the truth value of his words is the only context that matters for his comments on abortion Monday morning. In a direct-to-camera statement on Truth Social, the former president told his audience that he does not support a national ban on abortion. “My view is now that we have abortion where everybody wanted it from a legal standpoint,” Trump said. “The states will determine by vote or legislation or perhaps both, and whatever they decide must be the law of the land. In this case, the law of the state.” [ ... ] Compared with the mounting push from anti-abortion activists to ban the procedure nationwide, however, Trump’s stance is designed to look almost moderate. And if you were born yesterday, you could even say that Trump was beginning his pivot to the center, to blur the difference on abortion between himself and other Republicans. [ ... ] The truth of the matter is that given a second term in office, Trump and his allies will do everything in their power to ban abortion nationwide, with or without a Republican majority in Congress. Recall that in his 2016 campaign, Trump said that there had to be “some form” of punishment for women who had abortions. Later, as president, he backed a House bill that would have banned abortion after 20 weeks. Anti-abortion strategists have not been shy about their plan to use the 1873 Comstock Act, an anti-obscenity law, as legal authority for executive actions to limit abortions throughout the country, in blue states as well as red ones. [ ... ] We already know what he wants, what he’ll do and what he’ll sign. Trump landed a major blow against legal abortion during his first term. If given a second, he will land another.
In his own words, Trump brags about killing Roe v. Wade to an adoring Fox News audience this year.
