like, I'm fully Maki is a lesbian team, she played dad in their family, there's no heterosexual explanation, Kaito is just comphet

Once upon a time I posted some hc's I have for what Kaito does with his classmates when they hang out, but a few days ago I realized I never posted the hc's I have for him hanging out with the other students so here's part 2 🌠 It's the talent development plan mode all day everyday 🌟 This has been sitting in my drafts for days and it is very long so I'm sorry in advance 💀

☕ Byakuya (imposter) ☕

-They hang out in the dining hall, they chat over snacks and food per Byakuya's request

-Byakuya always asks Kaito to bake sweets like cookies or brownies

-They visit a lot of food places/restaurants

-Kaito knows it's a little odd to be friends with someone who literally imitates another student but he doesn't care

-They talk a lot about how different their lives are, and Kaito always tells Byakuya that he can trust him with his true self

🍴 Teruteru 🍴

-Teruteru always cooks dishes for Kaito to taste

-They go shopping for ingredients/food a lot

-Kaito helps him in the kitchen and Teruteru helps Kaito improve his cooking skills

-Since Kaito always goes stargazing with other people, Teruteru makes snacks and hot chocolate for them and joins in when he can

-Teruteru tries roping Kaito into peeking on the girls, but Kaito just talks about his passion for space so they end up talking about the universe

📸 Mahiru 📸

-Their friendship started when Mahiru randomly came up to him and asked to take a photo of him, Kaito is one of her favorite people to photograph cause of his smile

-They spend a lot of time walking around the academy talking and taking pictures

-Mahiru often takes photos of the moon and the night sky for Kaito

-She got him his own camera when Kaito expressed an interest in photography and taught him how to take photos properly

-They have a thing where they compete to see who took the best photo that day

⚔ Peko ⚔

-They alternate between regular training and kendo sparring a lot

-Kaito is able to make Peko smile, it usually happens when he goes to her with Gundham's devas or tells her cheesy animal jokes

-Peko taught him how to fight with a bamboo sword

-They trust each other a lot, like Kaito knows how she feels about Fuyuhiko and helps her sort through her feelings, and Peko can tell whenever he's feeling down and tries her best to cheer him up

-Their conversations are always about the universe, animals, and sword fighting

🎸 Ibuki 🎸

-They never stay still, when they hang out they'll be running around or playing instruments or playing games, they're super energetic together

-Ibuki taught Kaito how to play the guitar

-They like doing karaoke, she's literally the only person Kaito will sing around

-Ibuki writes songs about space for Kaito and sings them to him, it always makes Kaito happy

-They love listening to music together, whenever they go stargazing they'll bring a speaker outside to blast some music

👘 Hiyoko 👘

-At first Hiyoko thought he was an idiot and Kaito thought she was Kokichi 2.0, their friendship only started cause Mahiru wanted them to get along

-They act like siblings, they bicker a lot and call each other names but they care about the other, Kaito is lowkey protective of her and Hiyoko insults anyone who calls him an idiot cause only she can do that

-Kaito 100% supports/cheers on her dancing, he goes to all her performances with Mahiru

-Kaito gives her a lot of piggy back rides

-Hiyoko likes hearing about the stars and Kaito likes watching her dance practices, they also spend their time eating candy and squishing ants (sorry Gonta he tried but couldn't convince her to leave the ants alone)

🩹 Mikan 🩹

-It took a while for Kaito to get her to understand he truly wanted to be around her

-Kaito always visits her at the nurse's office and helps with whatever she needs

-They have positive talks everyday, Kaito helps lift her self esteem/confidence and always tells her positive things about herself

-Mikan always teaches him new medical things and Kaito teaches her random space facts

-He often makes sure nobody's bothering her or doing anything that could upset her, he knows it'll be a while before Mikan can stand up for herself so he does it for her in the meantime

🏆 Nekomaru 🏆

-They are so l o u d and boisterous and rowdy when they hang out

-A good 95% of their conversations are just them constantly motivating each other on

-They spend most of their time outside in the field playing sports or sparring

-They jog together in the mornings before class

-Nekomaru brings Kaito with him to his teams' sport matches a lot, Kaito always joins him in cheering the players on

🐹 Gundham 🐹

-They bond over animals, Kaito helps Gundham tend to them and he loves playing with the dogs

-Thanks to how much Kaito talks about the universe, Gundham started naming the newborn animals after space things

-Kaito loves playing with Gundham's devas

-Gundham tries to teach him spells and curses, Kaito doesn't have a single magical bone in his body but he still tries

-They like to wander around the city looking for stray animals to feed and take care of

☁️ Nagito ☁️

-It took forever for them to be friends cause Nagito kept talking about Kaito being an amazing beacon of hope while Kaito just wanted to hang out with the guy normally

-Nagito greatly admires Kaito, he always compliments him

-They mostly hang out in Kaito's lab, Nagito really likes listening to Kaito talk about space

-Kaito tries to change Nagito's negative views of himself, it always ends with them going back and forth about how great the other is

-If Kaito's with him when his unlucky situations happen, he always helps Nagito out of them (he lost track of all the times they almost got into hostage situations)

🕹 Chiaki 🕹

-Video games and chilling all day everyday

-They meet up to play games and to talk in their labs, Chiaki always falls asleep so Kaito keeps pillows and blankets in his lab for her naps

-When they hang out outside, they usually grab a bite to eat, walk around the school, and end up cloud watching or stargazing

-Chiaki falls alseep on him a lot so Kaito is always seen carrying her/holding her up

-Chiaki started playing more space related games to make Kaito happy, some of them were sci-fi horror which had the opposite effect but Kaito appreciated the thought still

🍖 Akane 🍖

-They always go to the dining hall to chat and eat, they often meet up with Byakuya and Teruteru there

-They have competitions to see who can eat the most meat

-They like going to the gym to spar, Akane sometimes teaches him gymnastics/parkour moves

-On the weekends, they go to Kaito's favorite space exhibits and Akane's favorite restaurants

-Kaito goes to her gymnastics competitions with Nekomaru to cheer her on

👑 Sonia 👑

-They love watching documentaries and movies, it's always a mix of occult/scientific/murder/space-y stuff

-They go to the library a lot, they have a tradition of picking books for the other to read

-Sonia loves hearing about Kaito's epic adventures and all the space info he knows

-They always make plans for Kaito to visit her home country

-They hang out outside of school a lot since Sonia loves visiting new places

☠ Fuyuhiko ☠

-Kaito always asked Fuyuhiko to hang out and was never intimidated by his attitude or threats so Fuyuhiko just gave up and let the friendship happen

-They like to climb trees, they make competitions of who can climb them faster

-Kaito invites Fuyuhiko to come along with him to his beach trips, they always sunbathe/tan

-Kaito makes fried dough cookies and other sweets for Fuyuhiko (Fuyuhiko really appreciates it/thinks Kaito's awesome for it but he never says that out loud)

-Fuyuhiko became interested in space thanks to Kaito and often asks stuff about it

🔩 Kazuichi 🔩

-They always hang out in Kaito's lab cause Kazuichi is in love with the spaceship simulator in there

-They talk a lot about rocket ships

-Kaito has already decided he wants Kazuichi to build the rocket ship that'll take him to space, Kazuichi is happy to fufill that request

-Kazuichi likes building stuff for Kaito, Kaito's favorite thing has to be the spaceman alarm clock he keeps on his nightstand

-They like to read magazines/mangas, watch action movies, and tinker with machines

💫 Hajime 💫

-Kaito always tries to make Hajime feel included since he isn't an ultimate

-They do all sorts of things around the school like watch movies, play basketball, eat lunch together, read, etc

-Kaito often convinces him to sneak out of the reserve course dormitory at night to stargaze

-Kaito made Hajime a sidekick an hour into being friends and Hajime has since joined the nightly training

ok im emo but i have never fully recovered from the fact that saihara, in a moment of valid anger, tells ouma he's the type of person to always be alone, but. but.

when he dies. ouma isn't alone. it isn't what he planned, definitely not who he'd want to die with, or the best, least painful way to die, but-

momota is with him, letting ouma die on his own terms, and despite their differences they have a weird kind of-partnership? friendship? well. maybe not that far, but something- as they die together.

ouma finally breaks down and is painfully, brutally honest, and momota believes him, partially because he kind of has to in this situation and partially because they're both dying and there's no real point in their bickering anymore.

the "hero" and the "villain," shedding their roles to become the scared kids they really are. taking hold of the way they're seen by the other participants and by the audience and using those preconceived cliches to come up with a plan to try and trick the mastermind, and help their friends. using their own murder plan to save instead of kill everyone.

it wasn't who he wanted, but for a brief moment, ouma finally had someone on his side, someone who went along with his impossible plan and gently helped walk the "supreme leader" to his own death. ouma died knowing one person trusted him, even just a little bit.

he wasn't alone, in the end.

im thinking of a talentswapped sdr2 and drv3 and so far this is what im imagining

- komaeda as the ultimate child caregiver/assassin seems super interesting to me. pre-reveal he'd act like he did before the first trial in dr2; relaxed, easygoing. post reveal he shows his true nature like how he did in dr2, obsessing over the idea of hope and the other ultimates. he says that his true talent is worthless and he only helps rid the world of people like him who arent born worthy or talented.

- i think the idea of koizumi as the ultimate ??? is pretty cool too. big sister type all the way. she'd probably be stressed over the situation, but would do her best to act calm and relaxed. she doesn't want others to panic and have that panic spread, so anybody acting irrationally would be met with her quickly talking them down.

- saionji as the supreme leader. at first she'd probably seem harmless, looking cute but generally rude and annoying. it'd take everyone a while to realize that she's less harmless than she appears, and koizumi would be one of the only people able to deal with her. komaeda would be pretty tolerant of her due to his experience with kids, but would find her annoying nonetheless.

- hinata as an astronaut!!! i imagine that he'd be generally average person but really wanting to do something great, something amazing, like in dr2/the danganronpa anime. he'd want to 'shoot for the stars', giving him the original idea to become an astronaut. he'd definitely have great leadership skills. he'd probably be a bit more pessimistic than momota if anything, but would do his best to bring everyone together. komaeda would probably ridicule him similarly to how he did in dr2, though to a lesser extent, because he's never actually been to space or done anything truly memorable.

- i originally thought tsumiki would be a better inventor, but i like the idea of nevermind being the inventor. though she's invented very useful items, she's far more into obscure ideas. fabricated past-wise, i imagine she'd probably be a generally good kid. good grades, pretty popular if a bit lonely due to people seeing her as above them and not having the courage to talk to her. after getting in a car accident, she realized that she doesn't want to die alone without having friends or any impact on the world, she stops caring about her studies and starts working on her eccentric invention ideas instead. she probably hates sticking to the book because 'you only live once'

Kaito would be totally oblivious to his feelings for you at first. He just kicks the feeling to the side thinking nothing of it. That is until he feels his heart race around you, or when your hand brushes against his he can’t help but feel bubbly.

He asked a few of his other friends about this and they were straightforward with him. ‘You like them.’ Is what they would all tell him, but he just couldn’t quite believe everyone. As soon as he finally came to terms with his feelings it would be game on.

He would bring you little gifts every so often and always give you compliments. You would see little sticky notes with uplifting words!

Kaito would finally end up asking you out, how you may ask? Like this!

There was supposed to be a meteor shower that night. Kaito was thrilled, this was the perfect chance to ask you out! he invited you over and you both watched the meteors fly by. The stars covered the sky like a blanket. It was beautiful.

“Hey, s/o? I have to tell you something important so I need you to listen up ok?”

“Huh?”

“I like you! I think you’re one amazing sidekick! I want to be more then just friends, so what do you say?”

“I like you too, Kaito. Im taking your jacket though, it’s chilly.”

Hajime Hinata

Hajime was confused about his feelings for you at first. He thought they were just platonic, he just saw you as a really good friend. It took him awhile to decide what was platonic and what was romantic. He was in total denial.

He started becoming more talkative around you though, opening up and letting you get to know him more.

Hajime would ask you to hangout and you would eat lunch with him. He loved it when you would share your lunch with him. He finds it flattering as cliché as it sounds 

He was still stiff around you and got nervous from time to time but it got better. A few of his friends told him you had a crush on him even though they don’t know you just to boost his confidence.

You were walking out of your classroom, your hand twined with your boyfriend’s as you made your way down to the cafeteria. It was pretty full, so you bumped shoulders with other students before you made your way to the table. “Hajime-” Nagito called over him with the wave of his hand. “I’ll be right back, babe. Your boyfriend said, pressing a kiss to your cheek before leaving. 

At the corner of his eye, he could see another student approach you, the vibe around them very unsettling. You were visibly annoyed and uncomfortable, which didn’t stop the person from putting their hand on your thigh. They had just started to lean in before you were pulled away gently by Hajime, “Fuck off, man. They’re already taken.” He hissed through his teeth, bringing you over to his conversation with Nagito. The audacity of that bitch.

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu

The two of you were walking side by side down the nearly empty street. It was nighttime, so you guys could hold hands, but Fuyuhiko didn’t want to risk it. “S/O, I’ll be right back. I’m going to grab something to drink for the both of us.” He said, going inside one of the few shops that were still open at this time. 

When he came back with two pops in his hands, he nearly crushed them. You, now accompanied by a stranger, were visibly uncomfortable. The stranger was obviously drunk, trying to put their hands on you. You kept telling them that you were taken and that you were never interested. Fuyuhiko pulled them back by the collar of their shirt, yelling a string of cuss words and insults into their face. For someone so small, he does get pretty loud. 

The person ran off in fear, leaving the two of you behind. “Th-thanks, Fuyu.” You mumbled, taking the pop from his grip. Without hesitation, he grabbed one of your hands, giving it a squeeze as the two of you headed back home with no further interruptions.

Kaito Momota

Both of you were sitting across the table at a new diner that had opened up! You were having a bunch of fun listening to Kaito rant about space, his friends, training, anything that can come into his little himbo mind. He got up from the table suddenly, “I’m gonna go get another muffin, I’ll be right back, star.” He hummed, leaving you behind at the table. 

He was facing the barista when he noticed another person approaching you. He tried to lay it off by thinking it was just someone asking a question, but when they started getting handsy, that’s when he snapped. He didn’t even get to get his muffin before going over to you and pushing them on the shoulder. They started to get equally as pissed, but it was cut short by Kaito knocking them across the face with his fist. You had to pull him away and out of the diner before he got into a huge fight in front of everyone there. His arm was around your waist the entire way home.

Rantaro Amami

You guys were at the mall, looking at new clothes for you. It was Rantaro’s treat after you bought him a beautiful necklace for him, which he was wearing around his neck. “I’m going to pay real quick, angel. I’ll be right back.” He hummed, pressing a kiss to your temple before letting you leave the store and sit at one of the benches.

He came back out, two bags in his hand. You were accompanied by a stranger, looking visibly disturbed as you tried to push them away from you. They were starting to lean in, but was stopped by Rantaro clearing his throat. They looked up at him, annoyance on their face. “Hey, they’re taken. Leave them alone.” He grabbed your arm gently, pulling you up to him before quickly leaving the area. He didn’t leave you alone for too long after that.

Let’s talk about if Saihara hated Ouma

So lately I’ve actually seen a bit more comments on how Saihara doesn’t actually like Ouma and people have gone as far as saying he hates him and idk why people genuinely believe it so here I am about to refute that (I’ve been waiting ages to make this post just so you know so this came out as a horribly unstructured ramble more than anything oops)

some notes beforehand:

I have an obvious bias as I do ship saiouma. although i’ll try to be neutral on what I say here, I can’t hide my bias. I have tried to include what people that hate this ship believe to counter them though, also if you ship other things that’s totally fine?? don’t think of any of this as an attack at your ship and I’m not saying Saihara loved Ouma, I’m just tired of people saying Saihara hated him.

You’re allowed to respectfully disagree as long as you don’t berate me or say I don’t know the game when the majority of the screenshots in this are from my own gameplay, lmao. 

and massive whole-game spoilers! Don’t read this if you’ve not finished DRV3!

Glad to know you made it under the cut! now I can begin with where I think people got this idea that Saihara hates him from- the infamous “You’re alone Kokichi and you always will be” line.

I admit this was very cold and still breaks my fragile saiou heart, but to base Saihara’s entire perspective of Ouma on this one line he said while he wasn’t thinking straight is just.. no.. It’s unrealistic. we’ve seen how Saihara is able to adapt his views and grow (I’ll come back to this later), he’s not stubborn in this regard like Momota or even Ouma is, so even if he did mean it 100% (which I doubt because when *anybody* is angry they will say or do things they may regret had they been calmer), it’s not like his view on Ouma from chapter 4 was his final view on him. And that’s what people fail to realise. 

So, how does Saihara view Ouma then?

well, I’d say he’s been interested in Ouma as a detective from the moment he met him with his curiosity piqued at Ouma’s claims of leading a secret organisation.

and he remains curious about Ouma throughout, always questioning why Ouma says certain things, what Ouma is lying for, he just wants to figure him out- and this doesn’t just apply to free time events either

I think you get my point there, now, I think if I didn’t ship saiou and read this, I’d argue these are all pre-chapter 5 and before the breaking line so he may have been curious before but not after- that then brings me to my next point

Saihara was confident- dare I say believed- in Ouma, especially after Chapter 5.

how bold of me to say ikr, but this ties in to Saihara’s ability to adapt his views. He’s sort of like a mixture of both Kaito and Ouma honestly, because naturally as a detective he has to be suspicious and think logically as Ouma does, while at the same time Kaito taught him to believe in his friends which has also helped him to advance in trials. I think he might have extended this belief to Ouma, because he trusts that Ouma is doing what he does for a reason.

In fact, I’d argue he’s the only one of the remaining group who wouldn’t readily accept pinning Ouma down as a villain. If anything, it’s the opposite- Saihara fought to clear Ouma’s name, and never stopped trying to understand whether or not his intentions were true or false

i’ll just drop this screenshot here (that i named THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY.png in case you were wondering)

this is what I mean when I say he wouldn’t accept it as fast as the others and would second-guess it, bear in mind this is the moment Ouma “admitted” to being the mastermind. and it’s not like this doubt was sudden or anything, cause I can recall this moment (that I actually didn’t catch on to on my first playthrough)

which gives me the idea that hadn’t Ouma purposefully messed with everyone and built up his bad reputation, it would’ve been so much easier for Saihara to disprove him being the mastermind at the point he said it. 

Anyway, going back to my point- excluding Kaito (cause Ouma directly told him), Saihara is the first to bring up Ouma’s innocence, and this is what I mean when I say Saihara believed in Ouma

note that I say believed in. believing Ouma and believing in Ouma are different, it’s like how loving someone and being in love with someone are two different things, so don’t argue that by saying “he didn’t trust him” because ik that and that’s not what I’m trying to say.

but he did believe that Ouma had his reasons, and he tried to discover and understand them. I mean, take this for example

he’s already on board lool look at him go, but no really look at the confidence

he’s both confident in himself and in Ouma not lying here, then goes back to being curious about his intentions

oh and let’s not forget who it was that searched Ouma’s lab to find clues to prove he is a remnant of despair. Why do you need to search for evidence for something you (and the others even more) think is irrefutably true? the answer is obvious- he was doubtful of it from the start, and needed evidence to convince himself it was true, but then as he found nothing to prove it (and even evidence against it), he had to convince the others of it too- and prove Ouma’s innocence

But as you can see, he’s clearing Ouma’s name as the leader of the Remnants of Despair. 

Now, I bet someone would argue that this only proves Saihara was determined to find the truth in general, because he’s mister detective, so I’ll raise you the fact that Saihara didn’t need to try figuring why Ouma does the things he does- he could leave it at just knowing the truth and if he really didn’t like Ouma like people say then there’s not much merit to it. 

“So what if I know this now? I didn’t care about him, it’s pointless” he could’ve thought something like that, but no

(I also think the “you’re lying again kokichi, there’s a method to your madness” moment fits here too)

Not only this, but there’s also how Saihara learnt from him.

honestly im still kinda mindblown from this ever since I first realised it, but when you think about it, Ouma hinted to Saihara in his FTEs how to win the game.

(those 3 screenshots are from justonegamr’s kokichi’s FTE video; random fun fact this was the playthrough that i watched while first getting into drv3)

But if you think about it, Ouma tried this again in his own trial in his attempt at ending the killing game and then Saihara also used this to actually end it

Not only that (which personally i think is pretty powerful in itself), but Saihara also tries to take Ouma seriously and picks up hints he leaves and uses them later

as well as

et

(and generally just)

generally, Ouma will hint and then Saihara will pick it up. it’s been like that for the whole game- why should Saihara give any extra thought to what Ouma hints if he dislikes him?? really, he could’ve just ignored him the same way he did at the end of chapter 4- but again, he didn’t “”hate”” Ouma enough to keep ignoring him, he considered him a friend in the end anyway.

and the end is what I’ll talk about now, too.

first- can we just acknowledge this?

he doesn’t ignore Ouma at all here. even though he didn’t trust him, he was sad to have lost him. 

Not to mention the way he thinks about lying at the end of Chapter 6. (like, please this is just-  *chefs kiss*)

IMAGINE Ouma was alive to hear him say that omg but Saihara could (and probably would) extend what he says here to Ouma himself- y’know, the ‘embodiment of lies’

by thinking about lies in a different angle instead of at face value like this, he gets a more neutral view on them rather than just thinking “they’re bad!!”, why wouldn’t he be able to do the same for Ouma? especially now that he knows Ouma was innocent and actually hated the game as much as they all did. I mean hey, even after chapter 5′s trial he sort of already thinks about lies differently

and throughout this post, I’ve tried to avoid talking about his free time events or his salmon mode ending because people always say “well they’re not canon” and to that I say not canon to the plot, yes, but still canon to the characters. so yeah, I don’t disregard any of them.

from this point onwards these all technically happen before chapter 5, so it’s not entirely relevant to my point that saihara still liked ouma even after the end of chapter 4, but it’s still something that shows he liked him beforehand at least. I mainly just wanna ramble though haha

one thing I’ve always thought was interesting was how Saihara easily lashed out at Kaito in his own free time event

and Kaito is undeniably Saihara’s best friend who he holds in high regard. If Saihara having backbone means he doesn’t like someone then damn bye bye momota have a nice trip in space

in terms of ouma and saihara though 

how about the fact that Saihara willingly sat there and played rock paper scissors (janken pon!) with Ouma 100 times?? bruh I got bored playing that with my brother after 8 rounds yesterday how would Saihara manage 100?? would you really have the patience for that when you don’t even like the person you’re playing with?

Saihara wanted to spend some time with Ouma, that’s- its literally written there I don’t know what you want from me the guy wanted a nice time with someone he supposedly doesnt like

what I love about this is how “reaching out” could be taken both literally and figuratively. Wanting to understand someone and trying to find a way to but them being too unwilling to trust anyone.. damn 😔👊 also shuuichi either wanted to handshake or hold hands, what else do you do when you reach for someone’s hand come on

oh yes and how about that he’s content with the refusal because it allowed him to figure out a small thing about Ouma? understanding that Ouma has a different way of being reached out to? mhm please think about that for a bit

that parallel in the salmon ending too...

he considered how it’ll be like with him after they get out and how he’ll learn about him, then ultimately decided when ouma reached out to him that he does want this, and even comments on the warmth of his hand... afhskfdlj

his blush when ouma mentions how his lies didn’t bore saihara was also a very cute moment

ooh and what about the love hotel???

there’s that one line “I know i’m meant to be Kokichi’s ideal in this fantasy but when he tells me he loves me I feel like he means the opposite” or something like that- i’d argue it’s because he’s cautious of Ouma for one but also am I getting something wrong here or is he talking about how he, Shuuichi, thinks Ouma doesn’t like him?  because I see people argue this is proof saihara doesn’t like ouma but all he’s really doing is just doubting ouma loves him

well in any case

WHY would he want him to stay in a love hotel of all places if he disliked him?! I know I’m just a broken record at this point but I can’t think of anything logical for it. they didnt even need to include that line in the scene at all but they did like they could’ve easily said something to do with realising where he was instead but nah. even after the event’s over, he says to himself

doesn’t he sound disappointed by it? and the fact that he even questions if it was a dream- okay  

ooh, something i’ve realised while writing this as well: it kind of seems like Saihara might not want to like him but does anyway; he quickly ‘smothered the thought’ of staying with Kokichi, didn’t want to admit that Ouma’s lies never bored him, and I also thought about how in one of Kaito’s free time events he says to himself “I shouldn’t be talking about another boy like that”- well, maybe it’s similar for how he thinks of ouma? it’s not like Saihara didn’t care for the others’ opinion on him (probably the opposite ngl if you mess up in class trials he says something along the lines of“Ah I screwed up! They probably think I’m a fraud”) and considering nobody else liked ouma (except for maybe gonta) I wouldn’t be surprised if he felt shame for liking him, thus repressing that feeling (especially around the others, there’s that part in trial 4 where he’s trying to convince kaito he isn’t siding with ouma cause he knows by doing that could damage his friendship with his bro)

I mean this is something I only thought of just now, but it could be plausible (i hope?)

One last thing- I find it incredibly funny how in chapter 2 when ouma is literally on top of saihara he doesn’t freak out or scream and everyone else in the room is also completely chill with it and unquestioning. no really they’re just standing there.. and how long was ouma even in that position for??

Now, I think that’s all. So to finish off, I’ll just say

People get the idea that saiouma is bad because some don’t realise Saihara can still like a person without idolising or putting them on a pedestal. Idk if this is gonna sound controversial or not, but I honestly do think he did exactly that to Kaito and Kaede- which doesn’t make what they have with him toxic or bad at all, I just think his view on Ouma is a lot more realistic and less clouded. Heck, if Saihara canonically liked Ouma as much as he does with the other two I don’t know if I’d ship saiouma as hard as I do (it is fun to imagine though).

If you actually read through this then.. wow? I’m surprised you got through this unstructured mess? I hope you can agree with me for some of my points at least but I’m not here to convince you or anything, this has just been on my mind for weeks now I needed to get it out somehow.

I said it at the start and i’ll say it again now too- i didn’t intend on attacking or comparing saiou to any other ships so I do apologise if I seem like it, i’m just terrible with my wording (lmk if something genuinely offended you, i’ll probably change it) but you’re free to ship whatever you like cause at the end of the day it’s just a bit of fun. that being said, I don’t want to actually argue on this so please don’t haha, i’ve contemplated just deleting this but I’ve put a lot of effort into this post even though i cant analyse for 💩

emotional state: could be a whole lot better, i often feel guilty for things that happened years and years ago, and like i mentioned, im a terrible overthinker. however i wouldn’t say it’s as bad as it used to be, im getting better :)

social skills: an expert when it comes to people i don’t know. id say im very charismatic and charming, finding it easy to talk to anyone. i love eye contact. however, when it comes to people close in my life, im terrible with communicating. like my communication skills with my friends and family are 0. i’m still close with them and talk to them a lot, but there’s always a lack of communication, usually from my end.

Kaito Momota - he's very outgoing, charismatic and charming. he can pretty much talk to and inspire anyone. he also surrounds himself a lot in his interests, and probably knows a lot about them. he's pretty kind though very honest as well. he is focused a lot on his image though, so he might begin to feel insecure if he upsets others too much. he begins to feel guilty if he fails others, but can have a hard time communicating his feelings since he wants to be seen in such a strong and inspirational light. I can see him being a bit of a procrastinator sometimes, but whenever his energy kicks in he gets so much done.

Ryunosuke Tanaka - he's outgoing and finds it easy to talk to anyone, having a bit of charm to him as well. he's pretty excitable as well, especially when it comes to the things he likes. he has a good sense of humor and can be bluntly honest at times, though he doesn't mean any harm. he usually doesn't dwell on things, but when it comes to his own mistakes or faults he can feel like he let everyone down for a very long time. he doesn't really like to communicate his feelings of guilt either, even though they are obvious in his behavior. he definitely cares a lot about what those close to him feel about him. he's also an ESTP I believe.

Eijiro Kirishima - he's also very outgoing and able to talk to and inspire even the most shy people (ex. amajiki). he's excitable and very energetic. he is kind to others, though when it comes to his values he is stubborn and unwilling to back down. he can be an overthinker and tend to feel guilty at times, though doesn't really show it due to his optimism. I'm pretty sure he's also a 6, though he could be a 7.

Shuichi and Kokichi getting married 💜💙 What do you think that would be like?

IM SORRY IVE BEEN SITTING ON THIS ASK FOR SO LONG I JUST. I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS ON IT AND I WANTED TO DO IT JUSTICE. REST UNDER READMORE BECAUSE THIS GETS LONG.

I think! it depends a lot on the universe. i am going to ignore japan’s current stance on gay marriage for this. Post game/VR AU... I’m not sure if they would get married, but if they did, they’d go out of their way to avoid any kind of PR (maybe having learned from kaimaki’s mistakes.) It would either be very, very minimal, or... the whole class is invited (probably minus Shirogane) and it’s very big despite there being twelve guests in attendance- Angie magistrates, obviously! It’s a big affair- a little bittersweet at times, because how can it not be, and Kokichi jokes about his own death and Shuichi shoves cake in his face, and they both have people missing, but their friends are loud enough to make up for it.

It’s similar in a nondespair AU, I think, but... I like parties and I’m going to chat about them having a party! The whole class is invited (plus Shirogane this time) and so are Shuichi’s uncle, and DICE, and NO ONE ELSE. They’ve got some other friends- Shuichi through work, Kokichi through... Kokichi stuff, but not really wedding friends. I think both of them are actually quite private about it- Shuichi is shy, and the attention flusters him, and as much as Kokichi loves drama, he also. Does not like showing vulnerability and it probably gives him HIVES even thinking about it. Writing his vows takes months, (which is fine, because planning also takes months, and Shuichi has his vows down a week after they’re engaged but he spends the entire time overthinking them and ends up stammering when he actually reads them.) DICE end up having to drag Kokichi by his teeth to get out some genuine sentiments- but his still ends up filled with in-jokes and puns and on paper it’s very playful and teasing and fun, a nice contrast to Shuichi’s almost painfully earnest words.

and shuichi goes “oh. yeah. that’s fair actually.” and he ends up emailing their work emails that they never check so technically he told them. but they don’t rsvp and they don’t show up and he only thinks about them a few times.

Anyway! I don’t think the event is traditional at all. Planning is a disaster because Kokichi wants big and Shuichi wants Kokichi to have anything that makes him laugh, and Kokichi secretly wants little secret meanings everywhere. (Chess pieces on the cake, little fake detective pinboards, not-so-subtle floral language, objects that don’t mean anything to anyone but them.) Shuichi panics for a while about his friends, and his parents, and he overthinks it for a long time because he’s not sure if he wants to try and keep the event a little classier for them, or just say fuck it, because who knows if they’re even going to goddamn show up, right?

And Kokichi, who has already invited his nine people, just goes “okay, don’t invite them, then?”

And Shuichi flounders for a while because they’re his parents and it’s his wedding, and then he asks if Kokichi will be insulted if they don’t show up, to which Kokichi informs him that if they do, there’s a minor chance of a fist fight. 

Shuichi goes “you’ll fight my parents on our wedding day????”

And Kokichi goes “no, momota-chan will.”

Because his uncle is there! And Kaito is there (crying the whole way through) and Kaede! and Maki! and Himiko! and Kokichi.

I think in a post game, they walk up the aisle together, because tradition is stupid and they want to be close and they were making out two minutes before the band began to play. but in a universe where Kokichi has DICE with him? Shuichi can wait at the altar (which he is okay with, because, again, anxious) and Kokichi can walk up like the smuggest bastard you’ve ever seen. He does NOT have a veil. What he does have is the most ridiculous fucking cape you’ve ever seen. It’s white, and velvet, and furred, and bedazzled with ballet jewelery, and it takes all nine members of DICE to keep it from dragging all over the chairs around the aisle. It’s so stupid. He trips half way up. Shuichi, who is already dying of nerves, laughs so hard he almost falls over. 

A lot of things go wrong, I think. There’s only 26 people there and a photographer, and neither of them wanted to do rehearsals or anything, so the whole thing is being winged. Something gets set on fire at some point. They accidentally break open a bottle of vintage honeymoon wine from Rantaro instead of the champagne they were meant to be drinking. Kokichi’s white cape ends up stained, which he should have expected considering how stupid and big it is. Miu, weeping, calls them both whores in her speech- OH

 everyone gives a speech. Shuichi’s uncle doesn’t know many of these people that well (especially not the nine weirdos in evening gowns who no one had met prior to Kokichi disappearing to get ready), but every single one of them has something wonderful to say about his nephew. Some of the stories are ribald, or wild, or a little bit unbelievable- but every single person gets up to congratulate them, and most of them cry.

Anyway! after the speeches they all eat. and drink. there’s cake, but there’s also ice cream and pastries and a bowl of skittles that gets increasingly stick as it’s passed around, and people keep talking and keep laughing. Kokichi explicitly told DICE not to flirt with anyone, so naturally they do, with everyone, including Shuichi’s uncle, who is bemused at best. Shuichi has to run to set out a small fire at some point. 

A LIST OF GUESTS WHO CRY:

-Shuichi, choking up as soon as Kokichi reaches him and takes his hands, and then continuing to sniff for the rest of the evening and weep through all the speeches,

-Kiibo, all the way through the vows and uncontrollably,

-Kaito, pretending he isn’t, taking handkerchief after handkerchief from Kaede,

-Kaede, but politely, and she smiles the entire time

-all of DICE, at different points, but they all come up with increasingly stupid excuses for it,

-Korekiyo, who has to excuse himself after the ceremony- when Shuichi hunts him down, he expresses his apology for leaving and says he’s just too happy for them,

-Rantaro, a little, the second Kokichi looks up and wiggles his fingers to show off his ring,

-Miu, the entire way through her speech. Kokichi calls her a crybaby bitch halfway through when it looks like she might be about to break down completely, and that gives her enough strength to get through it,

-Tenko, but she won’t admit it,

-Himiko, openly, only a little bit because she wasn’t allowed to be the flower girl,

-Gonta. a lot. he is one of the happiest people there and he won’t stop crying. he’s embarrassed about it but he’s too happy to stop and he probably makes Kiibo start crying AGAIN at some point,

-Maki, oddly enough, but only when Kokichi and Shuichi move to go and dance. She tries to hide it and snaps at Kaito when he teases her, but when Kaede asks if she’s okay, because they all know she’s not the biggest fan of either Kokichi or the union, she quietly admits she’s crying about seeing Shuichi so happy.

and humiliatingly;

-Kokichi. a lot. through most of it. He gets halfway through his vows and he starts sobbing. Shuichi has to hold his hands to get him through it. He cries when DICE give their blessing and he cries when Shuichi’s uncle gruffly says he’s “a fine young man, though he doesn’t approve of his methods,” and he cries when he calls Miu a crybaby bitch and when Gonta hugs him and when Kiibo sobs into his shoulder and when Kaito musses up his hair and tells him to take care of Shuichi, and he cries through the kiss even though he’s smiling at the same time.

It’s hugely embarrassing to him and years later he refuses to admit to it ever happening despite the photographic evidence otherwise. Shuichi thinks it’s sweet- he’s proud that he managed to be that vulnerable around that many people. Kokichi has called him a slur after he expressed that sentiment.

There’s a last dance, though, after everyone has been dragged to various hotel rooms or passed out drunk, and they should clean up but instead they change the music to something slow- a waltz, maybe, with Shuichi adjusting the stupid cape and Kokichi reaching up to gently fix Shuichi’s tie (which has gotten a little rumpled by this point.) And they dance, with the lights a little lower and helium balloons sagging to the floor, and they dance. And maybe they repeat their vows- not the same words, but the same sentiments. Or maybe they don’t say anything at all.

There’s no first dance as such- music is played, and there’s wine, but Kaede is the first one to start dancing, dragging her date with her and tearing it up. Shuichi’s had a little too much attention, really, and he’s happy to sit back and chat a little more casually and hold Kokichi far too closely as they watch the others slowly migrate to the dancefloor. But after a while- when mostly everyone is dancing and his heart has stopped pounding quite so painfully, and he’s had just enough champagne to feel brave and Kokichi is looking so happy under the lights, he takes his hand and drags him over to the band and requests something- (i’m thinking the lovecats by the cure, both bc goth saihara rights and because it works very well for saiouma i think.) -and then he takes Kokichi’s hands again and they go dancing.

(and obviously everyone is staring at them now, because it’s their wedding, and with that cape how can you not- but Shuichi is too distracted to notice, or maybe too happy to feel self-conscious, and Kokichi is whispering something in his ear that makes him laugh and it’s kind of hard for everyone to look away from them, you know?)

Either way, when they get to their room they probably boink for a bit and then pass out only to be woken up late for their honeymoon two hours later by Rantaro, who knew this would happen and did warn them, and who receives a very nice postcard from France a few days later informing him that they made the flight.

Don’t mind at all!

5- Best girl? Kyoko I feel like is the universal best girl of Danganronpa, but for me, personally? Mahiru Koizumi, for sure. I just think she’s cute and I really appreciate her normalcy. Plus, her freetime events are absolutely adorable. 

6- Best boy? Kaito Momota! What a bro. He’s the kind of friend I would want in real life. In turn, I try my best to be that kind of friend to others. :)

7- Favorite class trial from all the games? Definitely 2-5. Nagito’s plan was just genius and was one of my favorite in-game mysteries to solve.

8- Least favorite character? This one’s a little more tricky, as sometimes I’ll dislike some characters for different reasons. I’ll choose two, but I’m writing more here to explain why I dislike them. 

Kyosuke Munakata, the Ultimate Student Council President, is a least favorite of mine simply because I don’t like his character. I totally get that he’s supposed to be an antagonist of the show, but his philosophy and all of his actions just annoyed me. I’d much rather dislike a character that was set up to be disliked (ex: Monaca. I dislike her, but I like that I dislike her, if that makes sense.), than be annoyed by a character.

Hifumi Yamada, the Ultimate Fanfic Creator, is probably the least favorite of mine, but that’s because I know he had potential. I wish he had been treated better in-game. I don’t like how his design was made to be comical. They never gave him enough depth for me to truly be attached to the character, and I didn’t care for the humor because of it. Take Ibuki Mioda, for example. While Ibuki is off-the-walls a lot more than Hifumi, it was clear there was more to her than just her randomness- and I don’t even like random humor all that much, but with her, it was still funny, because I knew that wasn’t all there is to her. In a series where characters initially appear as typical tropes, we see that everyone has internal motivations that give them a lot of depth- one of the reasons I really like Danganronpa. With Hifumi, we never really get the same amount of treatment, even after his FTEs. He always just felt like the guy with the ‘im an anime nerd lol’ humor and it’s disappointing that we didn’t see more to him. Like, the fact that he preferred ‘2D worlds’ over real life is an ideology I really wish we got to see more of, or maybe even a story arc where Hifumi begins to appreciate the real world more. Again, in a series where characters all have hidden motivations and backstories, Hifumi’s character is kind of a sore thumb, and I wish he had been given more depth because of it.

Gonta Gokuhara

Gonta didn't understand why you seemed a little upset whenever he hung out with his classmates with you.

You were insecure. There were a lot of kind students in his class who were way more talented than you, and even though you trusted Gonta, you were still a little afraid that he would fall for one of the other boys

(Or girls of course. Gonta was pansexual, and all the girls in his class seemed pretty and nice too)

You, Gonta, and a few of his friends (Oma, Saihara, Hoshi, and Shinguji) went out to eat one night together at a little diner 

You were honestly getting anxious as they all talked about things oriented around their talents

Ryoma had gotten back into tennis after his long break, Shuichi had a new case he was working on, which Kokichi seemed to know way too much about, and Korekiyo had just gotten back from a trip. 

As they all chatted about what they were amazing at, you were just silent

What did you really have to talk about that was just as cool as their misadventures?

So you stared at the floor until Gonta suddenly tapped your shoulder. Ryoma had gone out for a smoke break, Shuichi was absorbed in his notes, Korekiyo was in the bathroom, and Kokichi was Lord knows where

"(Y/N)? You look upset… did I do something wrong?" He looked at you with his big puppy dog eyes. 

"You didn't do anything wrong… I just… don't feel like my topics are interesting? You're all ultimates and I'm just… me…"

"You are just you!" Gonta said joyfully "and Gonta just Gonta, and Ryoma is just Ryoma, and Kokichi is just Kokichi and-"

You cut him off. "No, that's not what I mean. I mean… I'm not special. You and your friends have so much status and skill and-"

"But that doesn't matter, Love bug"

It always made you bashful when he called you by that nickname

"Really?"

He nodded and kissed your forehead. 

When the others came back, Gonta brought you into the conversation and got you talking

At first you were nervous, yet your worries melted as you got more involved in the conversation.

You just became one of the guys. Whether or not they were ultimates didn't matter. 

When you all started to leave after eating, you overheard Saihara talking to his friend over the phone

"Yeah, I met Gontas' boyfriend. He really seems like a good fit for him, but I'm not great at romance… Either way, it's clear Gonta loves him."

That made you feel a lot more confident. That an ultimate thought you and Gonta were a good pair

Then again, Gonta was right. It didn't matter if they were ultimates or not. 

Kiibo (K1-B0)

One of his friends, Miu, had been hanging around recently. She was the ultimate inventor, and was working on a big upgrade for Kiibo

You were starting to feel jealous about all the time he spent with her and not you. 

You didn't think he would cheat or anything, it was just lonely without him. 

But Kiibo couldn't tell. He was sort of oblivious to human emotions. It wasn't his fault, but that didn't make it hurt any less.

Miu had set up a makeshift workshop in your room, because "Kiibos charging port was in there anyway"

Schoolwork was piling up, too. You found yourself working until you fell asleep on the couch. 

You were lonely, stressed, and, to be honest, starting to get paranoid that Miu really had stolen your lover's metallic heart.

One day during studying you just cracked. 

You broke down in tears, shaking.

You couldn't help it. You choked out Kiibos name.

"(Y/N?)" You heard him call.

"Wait I'm still working!" Miu called. He got up anyway and went to your side. 

He put a cold hand on your back, accidentally causing a jolt of electricity. 

"Sorry… Miu was working and wasn't fully done but I wanted to make sure you were-"

"I wish I could be like Miu," you said suddenly. 

He went quiet in confusion. 

"Like you or Miu or your classmates… ultimate robot, ultimate inventor, ultimate detective, ultimate magician… ultimate, ultimate, ultimate" you sobbed

"All I'm good at is being painfully average" 

"That's not true!" Kiibo said quickly. "You're very special, to me at least…"

"I feel so lonely"

He went quiet. "Oh…" 

Every time he touched you it shocked you. "Miu needs to fix that… it happened when she was working on the upgrades."

"How much longer?"

"Tomorrow, hopefully… I would hug you but I don't want to shock you…" 

You managed a weak smile. "Thank you"

You heard him walking off, and then silence.

You managed to fall asleep after a while, and when you woke up, you were in bed.

Kiibo was holding you close in his arms, radiating a warm heat. 

"Kiibo?"

"You're up? Morning" Kiibo responded. "Miu finished with her updates… I hope you don't mind, but my side of the bed is a charging port now… So we can sleep in the same bed together" he was going red. 

"Really? You did those updates for me?"

He nodded slowly

You started to cry as he rubbed your back and started to radiate more heat. 

"I love you"

"I love you, too"

Kaito Momota

You would never say it, but you were definitely jealous of the luminary of the stars

Even if only a little bit

You knew about what he had done to become an ultimate, and it made the jealousy increase

It normally was something you could keep under control. It must have taken a lot of talent to fool such a strict system, so he deserved getting in anyway, right?

One day he was ranting about his schoolwork and something in you just broke. 

"Just… Stop… I know that you're an ultimate, Kaito. Please just stop talking about it" you muttered

He went. It was shocking for him to see you so upset all the sudden. 

You started to cry suddenly. "I'm sorry… I'm being so mean" you whimpered. 

"Don't be sorry." He said softly, putting a hand on your back. 

He really cared about you, and didn't realize he had brought you over the edge. 

"Hey, hey. It's getting dark out, how about we stargaze?"

You smiled and nodded. 

Kokichi Ouma

Like with everyone else, Ouma would tease you a lot

Often, he would tease you about being a reserve course student. 

You often would throw back a snarky reply to please him. 

He didn't actually realize it hurt you.

One day after a particularly tiring shift at work, he threw a remark towards you. 

"Hey, hey hey! How was your job?" Kokichi was hanging upside down on the couch. "Why can't you parents just pay for you, like how they paid for Hope's Peak for you?"

Normally, you would ignore it, but today you just couldn't. 

You went uncomfortably quiet, clenching your fists and holding in tears as you marched into your room and closed the door

You flopped on the bed as the tears started to spill. 

The door opened quietly. 

"(Y/N)? The stuff I said about you… that was just a lie, ya know?"

You sobbed and shook your head.

"But you're right… I'm only here because of my stupid parents and their stupid money. That's the only reason I'm in Hopes Peak"

"(Y/N)?" 

You didn't listen as you kept talking.

"I'm just a useless, talentless, reserve course student. I'm never going to get anywhere in life…"

"(Y/N)..."

"I'm just a dumb, privileged teen boy. I'm so stupid I'm so-" 

"(Y/N)!" He pulled you into a tight embrace and kissed you as you cried.

"Hey, hey… you aren't just a nobody, (Y/N)"

"that's just a-"

"It's not a lie" his voice was so genuine.

You believed him this time. 

"You know I love you, right? My boyfriend, my partner in crime, my best friend…"

He cupped your cheek as you nodded shakily. 

"You know, you're my second in command for a reason. Because you're so smart. A lot smarter than a lot of the other ultimates."

You cuddled in silence for a while, until your boyfriend had to go. 

Before leaving, he turned back to you with a stupid smirk

"Talentless reserve course student"

You stuck your tongue out at him

"Airhead ultimate"

Korekiyo Shinguji

A lot of reserve course students were victims of bullying, and you were one of them.

You knocked on your lovers door after school, sniffling. You knew he was home, ultimates could skip classes without much repercussions. 

"Who is it?" You heard your lover ask from the other side of the door. 

You sniffled softly and choked out a response. "Kiyo… it's me, (Y/N)."

He paused for a moment "oh, one moment" he sounded surprised to hear your cries. 

He opened the door and wrapped his arms around you. 

He wasn't big on hugs, so it definitely meant a lot. 

"What's troubling you, my (Y/N)?"

You told him how some of the ultimates were harassing you, before you started sobbing so hard you couldn't speak

"Come here, sit down" he ushered you to the dining table and started to make you macha tea. 

He set it down in front of you, sitting down across from you with a teacup of his own. 

"How about I tell you another story, my love? Would that make you feel better?"

You nodded "I like your voice,…" you said between tears "it's comforting."

Heat rushed to his cheeks at the comment, but started to tell you about different Yokai, and what they reflected in society. 

You listened as you drank your tea

"Kiyo?" You asked shakily as he finished talking about the futakuchi-onna.

"Can we cuddle? I-im sorry I know I'm being clingy but-"

"You aren't, dear. Let's go to my room" 

He took your hand and guided you to his bed.

He wrapped you both up in blankets and pulled you on his lap. 

"Can I-"

"You can play with my hair" he said before you could finish.

You smiled and ran your hands through his hair slowly. It was so soft and silky

It calmed you. 

"You're so beautiful" he whispered in your ear. 

"But… I'm not an ultimate" you mumbled

"And? Why would that make you any less beautiful?"

"I don't know but…"

He pulled down his mask and kissed you softly. 

"You're an amazing boyfriend, (Y/N). Don't fret." 

Rantaro Amami

Rantaro didn't remember his talent, so why would it matter to him if you were a reserve course student?

He knew it made you uncomfortable, so decided to simply not bring it up. 

He would often have to leave for long periods of time, searching for his sisters. 

When he did, he would bring you and his other friends tons of gifts

It felt like they often got similar things each time, linking back to their talents. 

But you got an eclectic amount of gifts.

It felt nice that he thought if things you like that weren't just based on a title

"I found this owl shaped horn, and it reminded me of you" he said as you raised an eyebrow.

"I mean, it's interesting and cool! Isn't it?"

"Yeah, it is" you smiled and blew into it. 

It made an owl like hoot. 

He grinned at you, and you grinned back. 

He suddenly pulled you into a hug

"I missed you, (Y/N)"

"Even though I'm not an ultimate like your friends?"

He frowned and kissed you softly. 

"Of course."

Ryoma Hoshi

Ryoma was honestly jealous of you.

A lot of his problems started because of his ultimate. 

He wished he could have been a normal guy like you, especially back  in middle school...

But he would never tell you that

Not because he didn't trust you, but because he didn't want to remember her. 

One day, you were both sitting on the couch, watching whatever stupid reality show that was on the TV.

You noticed something. All the people had their carriers or a defining part of their life under their name. 

'Doctor, Mother, Soldier'

And then…

'Ex-student from Hope's Peak'

"I wish I could be an ultimate" you mumbled absently. "Once you're admitted to that school, you're set for life, huh? Fame, money, job opportunities…" 

Ryoma suddenly grabbed the remote and turned off the TV. 

"I wish I could stop being an ultimate" he muttered. He wasn't mad, not at all. Just crying to stop himself from crying. 

"I'm sorry, Ryoma" you said softly. You knew when to stop. 

"Can I… tell you about what happened?"

You always knew something happened. You knew your boyfriend was on death row at one point, but that his legal team had fought endlessly for him to be released on parole. 

"Yeah, if it'd make you feel better, Ryoma"

He said everything, the tennis matches, the spell of anger before defeating his final appointment. The fear. Hiding. When she was found.

He broke down in tears. He couldn't help it, it was just too much to go back to. 

You pulled him into a kind embrace and rubbed his back. 

"I love you, (Y/N)" he sobbed softly. "You're a wonderful boyfriend. You're so great" he hiccuped. 

It was rare for him to let his emotions out like this, and it was clear he had so much bundled up. 

You held him close and kept comforting him.

It really meant the world to him. 

Shuichi Saihara

You and Shuichi didn't talk much about him being an ultimate. 

But it was definitely always on your mind

He had to work for hours on end on the most difficult cases due to his title as the Ultimate detective. 

He'd work until he fell asleep at his desk. And then go right back to working.

It made you feel lonely. 

It was like his title mattered more than his boyfriend. 

One day when he was working, you wrapped your arms around him. "Shuichi? Could you please take a day off?" You mumbled softly in his ear.

He went red. "I would,  but I'm-"

"So close to finishing that case, I know… but if you took a break and looked at it from a new perspective, I'm sure you'd get out of this rut"

He hesitated slightly. 

"And I miss spending time with you"

That convinced him. 

You both cuddled on the couch and put on a cheesy movie. 

It was nice for him to take a day with his lover. He really needed that break

I’m literally a giant mess who hasn’t ever been drunk or anything, I don’t really know the effects so we’re going to use those anime-type-of-drunk which is very likely VERY inaccurate or... somewhat-realistic I don’t know. But woah.

Kiibo (Error! Error! Overheating!)

After coming back from his last check-up from Miu you were expecting to be cuddled up close with Kiibo on the couch, watching nextflix- some cheesy Disney movie which you’ve already seen thousands of time before... that’s what you thought....

Till Kiibo walked in adjusted by an trembling Miu who had her arm slung around him, she looked down on the verge of tears muttering about being “so disrespected”, Kiibo sluggishly rolls his head up bursts of steam expanded from every inch of his body.

“... U... Uuuh... there was a function I added inside of em’ to test some booze I was plannin’ on drinking... it was... uh... successful but... J-Just take him- I don’t want to be fuckin’ called out anymore!”

Miu threw Kiibo in your direction running back from once she came, wiping at her eyes as she whined about “how mean” he was... you could only watch Kiibo stir awake, nervousness pricked at your stomach as you realized she made Kiibo try an alcoholic... BEVERAGE!

“... (S/O)?” Kiibo glances up at you, blinking once or twice as he took in his surroundings, you asked if he was okay- he groggily nodded his head. “Never better (S/O)... but... Miu... I-I was just telling her about how stupid it is that she puts herself down almost all the time when she has a brilliant mind, then her very inappropriate attitude- which she presents herself to cover up that wall of self-esteem issues she has... Ah... then there was me getting onto the fact that most people are uncomfortable with the sexual intuendos she has- and for some odd reason before I could say anymore she dragged me here...”

“... I rebooted on the way... once or twice...”

“... what.” Oh. Oh my god... He... What? Kiibo said that?

“... Yes... Hey (S/O) actually I-I have some things to say about you too, look me in the eyes, look at me right now please...” Kiibo cups your face, he looks you right in the eyes, those aren’t the soft loving eyes you know- those are eyes that... are going to fucking destroy you.

Kiibo holds your face tight, escape is impossible, he sluggishly rolls his head as a soft frown falls on his face.

“... You have your errors yourself actually... like... how you...”

You failed... you are absolutely burnt, just turned into soot by the end of his rant, he’s just sleeping peacefully under the blankets that you had gotten for “cuddle night”, you don’t feel soft at all- you just feel absolutely WRECKED.

Shuichi Saihara (Sad Drunk)

You had both gone out on a party together, specifically a reunion with your classmates which Kokichi was hosting... which already sported red flags but you all didn’t question it, that is until people started to drop like flies... people who drank the punch specifically dropped like flies.

Kaede asked who made the punch... when the relevation that it was Miu and Kokichi themselves it all fell into place like a puzzle, they spiked the goddamn punch.

One of the victims... happened to be Shuichi, a light-weight he hugged your arm tightly slurring and whirling, tears fell down his face as he cried and sobbed about the world.

“... (S-S-S/O!) It’s no fair... I-Iiiii never did anything wrong so why does everything hafta’ be against meeeee...? *hic* it’s unfair.... unfairunfairunfair!”

It’s the fifth time you pat his back, he leans in for a better hold of you so you can give him more affection, he loves that so please do go on, he lets out a slurred hiccup.

“... (S-S/O) a... aaare you seeing anyone...? You always were soooo pretty... and... aaand niiiiice... *hic* and... aaand it make me really happy... I-Iiii wanted to date you since forever ago...”

... How drunk is he to forget the two of you are already dating? “I am.”

Shuichi’s eyes widen, he presses himself up against you with an wail as he starts to cry harder. “Of course yu are- H-Hic- I’m NOT CRYINGF.”

You can’t help but to wonder how he’ll feel in the morning, for now you try to give your poor drunk boyfriend solace as you explain how the two of you are already well- dating.

Luckily, Shuichi falls asleep on your lap while you comfort him, the tears having tired him out... he put his hands around your waist, he bids the world “night night”.

Ryoma Hoshi (Excitable Drunk)

Ryoma wasn’t a heavy drinker, actually he had never drank an drop of the stuff ever, prison doesn’t allow those sort of luxuries, besides he just didn’t want to ruin his reputation by drinking at about fifteen or some shit.

So... he was old enough, the two of you were going on a date here... he’d was just chugging the stuff considering he wanted to see how it tasted, which was rather gross under further consideration... but what he happened to pick up is that he wasn’t feeling all that woozy... guess he ain’t no light-weight.

But he sure ain’t no god, it takes about three whole damn bottles for the effects to start to shine.

...It takes five whole damn bottles for him to actually feel anything, you kept a close eye on your boyfriend as he put the second bottle down with a huff, wiping at his mouth with a “wew”!

“... That was uh, gross taste, heh.” Ryoma pulled his hat up, his cheeks flush slightly pink as he looked around. “Hey. Hey (S/O) you gorgeous son of a bitch look at me.” As soon as you even give him your attention he fingerguns.

... Ryoma wobbly pulls himself up, he doesn’t look like he’ll trip, honestly somehow he still has his balance as he takes your hand.

“... Oh my god I just had an amazing idea. We should adopt,,, a lot of cats,,, not like,,, any cats,,, but... buuuut like an shop full of them,,, and name each of them something silly...” Ryoma’s eyes sparkle deviously. “... Or... like... like... steal everybody’s cats... so we remain the supreme leaders of feline...”

“... Ryoma... do... do you feel tired? Want to take a nap, as amazing ideas as these sound I don’t think your in the right state of mind for... this.” If you let any of this happen, Ryoma’s going to hate himself in the morning.

“I know what I’m doing... I have a license... gimme a sec...” Ryoma pulls out a piece of paper, writes on it, flips it to reveal in sloppy handwriting: “I knwo wat Im do”

You try to survey his features after writing that, all he does is shoot his fingerguns at you.

...Okat you honestly need to take a few pictures of this to show Ryoma later oh my god he’s wobbling towards the door to bring one of those plans he’s mentioned to full-glory, you locked the door for Ryoma, his drunken brain can’t comprehend how to use a step-ladder. You just go to get him some water...

Kaito Momota (... Tired Drunk)

Kaito wouldn’t drink... much, sure, he would totally forge an certificate to like- well, go to space but that was for a good cause! Stuff like drinking was meant to be done for special events and shit otherwise you might get hooked!

And he didn’t actually mean to get drunk on you! He promised he just... kind of mistook the wine in the fridge as the grape panta, he was thirsty- and really fucking tired! Okay? He didn’t expect when he chugged the whole bottle down for the world to... to... hnnnnnn... what’s the word...?

It took a while for you to notice anything was amiss, Kaito had taken himself out of the room to “go get a drink” then he still never came back, so you went to check on your boyfriend to see if he still hadn’t gotten anything, needed some help.

What you didn’t expect to see was Kaito Momota Luminary of the Stars on the floor looking back up at the ceiling mindlessly, with that bottle of wine held tightly in his hands.

“... D... Doo... yu... think it’d be a bd idea if I trie... tried to take a np here? Jst... slep untl a hangover fcks me the hell up, everything hur ts.”

... Oh god! That’s even more errors than usual, so it’s likely on purpose! Kaito’s DRUNK!

You go to get some water for him in the fridge, Kaito’s still looking at the ceiling talking to himself slightly hushed, you don’t know what he’s thinking but he looks like he’s having an ephiphany about the world.

“Holy... Hly sht (S/O) I jst realized how fuckin... weird that Shuichi’s hair stands up like that... he doesn’t use anything to make it like that so how.”

“... Kaito I don’t think your in the right state of mind to make choices like that...” You offer some water to him, his eyes widen.

“Why... Why is everyone’s hair dyed- Like is it actually dyed? Or is it just natural- how can it be natural tho... unless... oh my god (S/O)... we’re in an anime I can’t believe it.”

“Kaito I think you need an second...”

“No. No I know what I’m sayin- oh my god we’re the main characters in some weird anime (S/O)... that’s the only explanation,,, I have to tell... Tsumugi but my legs won’t work nn nn n n..”

... You just pat his head, Kaito grimaces... he was absolutely wasted so everything he said held no inch of truth in it, you just hoped that soon enough your efforts to help him better bare fruit... So he doesn’t make anymore odd claims like him and his friends are in some “weird anime”!

Rantaro Amami (Immune System Of God)

Rantaro... wasn’t a drinker... well besides those really fancy drinks that he usually saw when you both got out, those always looked like a magical experience to try out so he usually did buy those but... he’s never actually gotten legitimately “drunk”, it may be because he never drinks too much.

Then there was the time that had asked Rantaro if he had ever gotten in all words actually “drunk” he responded with a shrug: “I guess I do...? Uh, I’m usually in the right state of mind afterwards still... enough to walk...”

... This was a topic which needed much more exploration... so you went out to a bar together, you swore that anything he got was on you... he squinted but still he bought some colorful drinks in funny-looking cups, peering towards you while he did...

He wasn’t actually drunk even after drinking quite a bit, what is this man, how is his immune system keeping him awake? Rantaro chuckles... “Yeah, I think that’s enough for tonight.. come on let’s go home.”

You either failed or this task is just impossible, you take the hand he offers you and walk outside with him... the only noticeable effect are the times he almost bumps into the wall but other than that... nothing...

He knows how to hold his liquor...

Gonta Gokuhara (Clumsy Drunk)

This was Kokichi’s fault, that’s all you know... he offered something for Gonta, that’s what he told you when he gave you back a stumbling crying boyfriend.

“... How did you even get him to drink this- oh my god! Gonta- baby please go lay down on the couch...” You led Gonta to the couch to sit down, he sobbed loudly into the pillow almost falling off, you gave a harsh glare to the Supreme Leader who chuckled at your displeasure.

“I told him it was “Respect Women Juice! TM! Yeah he really just drank it without an inch of hesitance...! Then he fell over drunk, it was hilarious till I had to actually bring him here.”

Gonta let out another loud sob as he fell over off the couch onto the floor, crying about how “Gonta caaaan’t see...!!!”

“You... are one screwed up... mess of a person Kokichi Ouma...” Pushing Gonta back onto the couch you tried to reassure him everything was alright, Kokichi grinned at you putting both of his hands behind the of his head.

“Oh I know... I know really quite well! Good luck dealing with him!”

Kokichi left the two of you alone together, you just let Gonta cry against you about how everything felt so weird... offering some water and some hugs, you’ll get revenge at Kokichi for this... you swear to it.

Kokichi Ouma (Angry Drunk)

... How... Who the hell had enough of your boyfriend to go and make him chug down so much alchohol he got drunk, god knows, but he was now... here... and slurring about some criticisms you didn’t know he had...

“Like... (S/O) it’s so stupid... instead of like... liiiike... getting mad at me when I insult her she usually gets off on it... it’s so gross,,, like how horny can somebody be (S/O)? How HORNY can you be?”

“... Kokichi... do you need a...” Despite how you tried to chime in he always cut you off, with a half-awake grumble...

“No... No let me say this... Hiiiii... iii... so... so what the hell is with Kaito’s sense of logic....? I know, know for a fact he CAN be stupid enough to literally TRUST everybody he meets, like even if there’s hard proof that their an asshole he’s STILL by their side... what the FUCK.”

“Are you talking about Maki?”

“SHE LITERALLY CHOKED ME ONCE YES, Y ES I MEAN MAKI...!” Kokichi touches his neck, rubbing at it. “Honestly... Maki is such a damn... damn jerk... seriously... she’s made “do you want to die” her punchline to almost any jokes she makes, we get it, your edgy as hell!”

While Kokichi grumbled the both of you didn’t notice the door quietly open up... nor did you notice it until their footsteps were in the right range for you to notice them...

Maki trails into the room with an sweating Kaito Momota by her side, she held a card in her hand with the words: “sorry for making you chug beer” in a rather sloppy handwriting...

“... Makiroll, don’t do this...-“ The astronaut tried to stop the caregiver but it was too late, she was already sprinting towards Kokichi to land a finishing blow...!

“FINLAND!”

Korekiyo Shinguuji (Beutifial,,, ohbnn)

How did he actually... get like this, well you honestly swear to god you don’t know, he just appeared at your doorstep muttering about how beautiful humanity was... in so much typos it was almost impossible to decipher a word of what he said...

“... Korekiyo do... you want some water?”

“... hdhdbnnkklllllln.” Korekiyo press his head against the pillow lethargically, he groaned afterwords grasping at his stomach.

“... Is... Is that a yes? A maybe? A... no?”

“... nnnnnnnnnnz.”

“No it is! No it is...”

“Okay! So do you want to um... take a nap?”

“... nbcbxzzz.”

Well. Well you can’t decipher any of this mess, picking yourself up you go to the kitchen to try and take in all that’s happened today...

“... I’ll just get that water anyway...” You pray to whatever god that exists... to please... pleasepleaseplease never have Korekiyo get drunk again.
