☾ - sleep headcanon

Sleep does not come easily, and when he does sleep it is often not well. Byron's sleep is often plagued by Bhaalspawn dreams or by his patron trying to pry into his psyche, leading to restlessness during the nights and looking constantly tired come morning. For him at least, the only way to have a peaceful sleep is to take a draught that will knock him out for the night and he becomes quite reliant on it.

☮ - friendship headcanon

He finds it difficult to make friends, or rather - he just doesn't care to. Imoen he mostly treated as a nuisance despite her best attempts. I imagine she slowly wears him down until he tolerates her, but in Candlekeep overall there was no one that he was interested in being friends with. I imagine things would probably change on the road a bit, but even with his party, "friendship" isn't as likely (Dorn, Viconia, Imoen, Kagain and Edwin) as much as "merely tolerating each other" (at least in BG1 lol)

♒ - cooking/food headcanon

Byron can somewhat cook but he always over or underseasons food to a criminal degree. He's doing his best but after a while, he is banned from seasoning anything and someone else takes over until he knows better.

my bg1 character, sefri. these r old and i should redo them

if you are interested, which i know nobody is, my original idea with her is to make a character really close to abdel adrian story-wise (a morally questionable tought guy with violent impulses) but Not Adbel Adrian because I hate him. she doesnt romance jaheria (lol) but instead I ended up shipping her with Edwin of all people.

she is a fighter/thief because i wanted her to run the shadow thieves guild (the fighter stronghold is boring) and she was a beast when i played her, one of my most fave playthrus of bg1/bg2 ever

her canon party at the end of bg1 was: Viconia, Kagain, Edwin, Jaheria & Khalid. She left Imoen behind after Imoen was injured because she cares Too much and is bad at expressing it, so she just abandoned her at Nashkel LOL. Imoen rejoins her just in time to be kidnapped for BG2. She had a tense relationship with Jaheria & if it wasn't for Jaheria, Sefri would of gone like full evil.

siege of dragonspear is NOT canon and i hate it.

bg2 party: Yoshimo (Almost fell in love with him, rip) then Imoen, Edwin, Viconia, Korgan, Jaheria. Let me tell u. worst party comp ever thank god Sefri could carry with her insane attack modifiers. Everyone laughed really hard when it was revealed Sefri hooked up with Edwin. During throne of bhaal, she does resurrect Sarevok (replaces Korgan) and she accidentally redeems him. I have no yet figured out how to fix him in bg3.

she was very good friends with Viconia and no, I am not happy with how she is handled in bg3. like i said it sucks if you are an og baldurs gate fan, they do not handle a single aspect well besides Jaheria.

For when you return: what's Arkem and Dorn's wedding like?

i actually had a post about this on my old blog! here:

arkem didn’t plan on ever getting married, on account of being a cleric of shar - getting married (especially for love) is highly disapproved of. after dorn is kidnapped and nearly killed by bounty hunters, however, arkem decides that they need to get married so that dorn could be elevated to nobility status alongside him. 

so they initially have a very quick and simple courthouse wedding. a couple of months later, they have an actual celebration, held in a desecrated temple in windspear hills. it’s a very small ceremony of around 10 people. viconia, kagain and hexxat are the only former companions invited. 

the ceremony itself takes place at midnight, and though they keep the decorations to a minimum (mostly just dried/dead flowers and candles for some low light), the feast they have prepared is extravagant.

everyone attending is asked to dress in dark colors (preferably black).

in honor of the blood pact they made in the end of bg2, they drip some of their blood into the other’s wine glass during the ceremony.

in an attempt to lessen shar’s disapproval, a large sacrifice is made before they take their vows (probably someone important from selune’s clergy). 

i imagine arkem would ask viconia to… not officiate, but i guess guide them through the ceremony, as she is also a high ranking priestess of shar and also one of the very few people he trusts.

You know, I really don’t mind at all bring Baldur’s gate material to 5e, since I like those games a lot and all, but I absolutely cannot condone the blatant ugly mf  erasure they got going on with the character artwork.

"Why didn't anyone wake me..." Charlotte yawns out.

Charlotte hadn't recalled when she fell fast asleep. Drowsy eyelids slowly open up and she recognizes the environment she was in, the House. She feels a heavy weight on her stomach and the cause was a sci-fi almanac. In her drowsy state she perks up upon hearing Felix's voice.

"F-Felix?! You frightened me," a hand was on her chest as if to soothe her fast heart rate, "you didn't want to wake me? Ahaha, you should've! I'm supposed to look after you, after all..."

She feels her chest swelling up with anxiety. Was it the anxiety medication that caused her to be so tired that she passed out? Or was it her illness... Charlotte wish she had the answers but didn't want to discuss any of it to any of the tenants. It was her problem alone, no one elses.

“ You know, I don’t need you for that. ” He feels mocked at the way she said that; even if he knew she didn’t mean it like that. (she never did, she’s too nice for that.)

“ I can take care of myself, thank you. ”

He sighs softly, fiddling with his gloves. “Besides, you were sleeping pretty deeply..” He’d just felt bad if he’d woken her up. He was in no rush, well he was always normally but. Just sitting here had been nice, even if he supposed it was weird to just watch someone sleep. It’d been kind of calming though.

“ How are you feeling? ”
