But she also lies "for your own good." She'll lie to you about your abilities to boost your confidence and (she hopes) your efficiency, even if you're bad at what you're doing. She also withholds information that she knows will upset you
She's not emotional herself and is just as blunted as canon L, but she's prone to blushing when she thinks you're especially cute
She is emotionally intuitive, though. She can sense the slightest disturbance in your mood and will likely ask about it
Becomes your personal therapist unintentionally (it is intentional. Everything with L is intentional)
Fem L is gender ambiguous to an extent, because she has what some may consider a "masculine" demeanor.
She has a deep monotone voice and would probably be a low alto if she sang. Could reach tenor notes. Her voice has a sing-song undertone to it, even with it being monotone. Canon dub L, pretty much, just a tiny bit higher
She's actually quite affectionate when she's comfortable with you, but prefers to come to you rather than the other way around. Likes hand holding and playing with your hair
If you ask her for physical affection she'll likely say yes, she just doesn't like sudden touches. Will give you a death stare if you touch her with no warning, but because it's you she'll let it slide with a reminder "please ask next time."

Uses pet names, endearing ones like "love," "darling," and "sweetheart." I hc canon L doing this, too, but I think fem L would be a bit more generous about it
Her personality isn't very different than canon L's
Likes baggy clothes that fit comfortably and lends her clothes if you'd like!! She wears loose sports bras if she's out of the house because cup bras are very uncomfortable for her. Inside she's almost always braless, though.
Her periods are a breeze for her because she's always on top of the ibuprofen and knows exactly when it's going to start. She may even be on birth control solely for period management because her work cannot risk sitting in bed from excruciating pain

Absolutely! Also, STOP PLAYING THAT DAMN AI COVER OF XIAO SINGING OSHI NO KOS IDOL AT FULL BLAST AND ON REPEAT! ITS ANNOYING! Also, I don't remember for sure if this is true or not, but don't you suck at violin? I know your ok at piano and good at flute, but Im not sure how good you are at violin.
Also I wrote Chuuya for a reader whole plays euphonium and Tenor saxophone because I simp for him and I play euphonium and Tenor saxophone. Though, it doesn't make much of a difference.

The Princess Bride Musical Dreamcast
The fact that with all the new broadway musicals are adaptations and NO ONE has done the Princess Bride yet is absolutely criminal, so if that were to hypothetically happen, here's my dream cast list.
Framing Device:
Grandchild: I can't really put anyone for grandchild, since I don't know many child actors, but I do think there should be a rotating cast, like they had with Mathilda on Broadway.
Grandfather: Mandy Patinkin, aka the original Inigo Montoya.
Mother: Robin Wright, aka the original Princess Buttercup.
I think it would be really sweet and fun to have two of the original movie's cast play parts in the framing device, almost like they're passing the baton of telling the story to the next cast.
Main Story:
Westly: Joshua Henry
I don't know if this is a controversial statement, but Westly is a baritone, and I think Joshua Henry would be absolutely perfect. He's charming as fuck, he's a phenomenal actor and vocalist, and he's absolutely gorgeous. Perfect leading man for a story that is about telling the best story ever.
Buttercup: Maria Bilbao
I think Buttercup would be a legit soprano, and as a big fan of Sweeney Todd and the recent revival, Maria Bilbao, who played Johanna, would be absolutely perfect for it. Just go listen to her Green Finch and Linnet Bird and you'll get it.
Inigo Montoya: Colman Domingo
Does Colman Domingo sing? I don't know. Could he act the absolute SHIT out of the confrontation between Inigo and the Six-Fingered Man? ABSOLUTELY. I have this vision of how to adapt the scene, which would also kinda translate Inigo's arc to a musical version. So in the original, the Six-Fingered Man trying anything to manipulate him, mocking him, that great "you have an overdeveloped sense of vengeance line, and Inigo is just not having it. He just keeps repeating the iconic line over and over again. In the musical, I would have the six-fingered man sing, like he's trying to get Inigo to sing with him, to give in to the performance, but Inigo won't sing, he just keeps repeating his line over and over. He refuses to conform to the typical "rising above" narrative and leave the Six-Fingered Man alive, he will be true to himself and his mission and won't let himself be distracted. Anyway, I don't know if this is a good idea, but Colman Domingo would be amazing either way.
Prince Humperdink: Aaron Tveit
I think Prince Humperdink should be the archetypal tenor boy and who is a better representation of current archetypal tenor boys on broadway than Aaron Tveit? Also he's really talented and I think he would act the shit out of this smarmy bastard role.
Count Rugen aka The Six Fingered Man: Josh Groban
I need Josh Groban on Broadway more, and I think he would do great at a quieter villain role, especially coming off a more angry and bloodthirsty role like Sweeney Todd. Also he looks a bit like the original Count Rugen, so that's a bonus.
Vizzini: Alex Brightman
I don't really have much behind this one, other than Vizzini is a weird little guy and Alex Brightman plays weird little guys really well.
Fezzik: Jason Segal
So ideally, I'd actually be able to cast an actor with gigantism to play the part, but I don't know of any, and couldn't find any while googling, so this is my backup essentially. During the lockdowns, a bunch of celebrities did The Princess Bride over zoom, and the scene with Rainn Wilson as Vizzini, Pedro Pascal as Inigo and Jason Segal as Fezzik is genuinely really great, but Jason Segal's Fezzik impression is spot-on and actually amazing. Also, we know from the Muppet Movie, How I Met Your Mother and Forgetting Sarah Marshall that he can sing so, I think he would do great.
Miracle Max and Valerie: Joey Richter and Lauren Lopez
I assume posting this to Tumblr, more people would know who Joey Richter and Lauren Lopez are than the average social media platform, but they are part of Team Starkid and Tin Can Bros and do some fantastic original musicals (please look up the Hatchetfield Trilogy and Spies Are Forever if you haven't seen them yet). They're both extremely talented performers, and also married in real life, so they would absolutely kill this.
Clergyman(Mawage guy): Brian d'Arcy James
I don't really have much of a reasoning behind this, I just think he'd do a good job.
Backups/Close Calls:
Denee Benton as Princess Buttercup
She's one of the best parts of Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812, and that's saying something because that musical is (in my opinion) one of the best of all time
Pedro Pascal as Inigo Montoya
I don't know if he sings, and he would be amazing for this, but I wanted to challenge myself to think outside the most obvious choice. However, sometimes the obvious choice is a good one.
Bernadette Peters as Valerie
If the Witch from Into the Woods found love and inner peace

At first when I created him I heard a slight BBC English accent in my head, but now it tends more toward a mild, West Coast-type American accent with softer “r” sounds. In international schools where I live there’s this universal international school kid accent you could easily mistake for American – that’s the one.
(Andoren has a revolutionary war US vibe but its geography is like Provence, and Almas in particular is highly cosmopolitan, so this feels fitting.)

(In the real Persian pronunciation it’s see-ah-VASH but the ee-ah sounds kind of bleed together to sound like one syllable.)

Shoulder to Shoulder

This is my “behind the scenes” series where I indulge myself horribly by annotating my fics. Link to the fic itself above. Thoughts below the cut.
Another one-year ficiversary piece, rewriting Carried from Dick's POV instead of Tim's.
It was the first time in Dick didn’t know how long that his hand itched to throw something and it wasn’t Bruce’s fault.
I was still playing around with the arc of Dick and Bruce's relationship. I still am, really. Some canon and fanon paths have them viciously at odds during Dick's teen years and/or immediately after Jason's death, while others less so. I do think there has to be some friction, because that's part of the uncomfortable stretching of independence, but I haven't settled on a consistent tone or tenor yet. I tend to have to write a fic specifically about a thing to figure out that thing and I haven't done that yet.
Here their relationship could be described as tetchy.
Dick felt like he was being punished. Screw up one brother, shame on you; screw up two... He had failed Jason, miserably and completely, he knew that, but shouldn’t that knowledge be punishment enough?
POV musings seem to confuse people, for whatever reason. They take the character's words or thoughts as the author's. When writing from Dick's POV, Dick in my fics will state that he failed Jason, that he was a bad big brother, that he was too distant, too unavailable, too disconnected. Dick is not an unbiased observer.
Bruce was dressed in the Armani suit that worked like a pressuring lean on a shoulder.
I panic any time I have to describe a rich-person thing. Yes, sure, I can google, but I would imagine the true rich-person things are not available to the average googler!! Whatever, celebrities wear Armani on the red carpet, it's probably fine.
Not ostentatious, not aggressive, just the understated but deliberate expression of I am richer than you that would do more to steamroll anyone he met today than a tight handshake or a punch to the jaw ever could. Alfred stood at the door of today’s car, a stately, almost old-fashioned limousine Dick had seen Bruce use only once or twice before.
Bruce Wayne is clever, and he is subtle, and he knows how to wield wealth and legacy like a weapon as deftly as any blade. And that's that on that.
“You should have called,” Dick muttered once he reached Bruce. Bruce’s chin rose infinitesimally. “You told me—” Dick held up a hand. They wouldn’t get on this ride today, this whirling teacup of you told me not to call and why are you always so pigheadedly literal.

“Can I ride with you?” Better to go as a united front, even if they risked picking another quarrel on the ride over. Bruce, to his credit, didn’t hesitate. “Of course.”
To his credit—Dick you proud teenage hothead, that's your dad of course he's going to let you ride with him, short of a BOMB strapped to your chest with five seconds left he'll say yes and even then I'm not sure he would do any differently.
They didn’t talk on the ride over. Dick fidgeted with his cuffs until he caught Bruce looking, then stopped. When they arrived at the cemetery, Bruce held out a hand, blocking Dick’s exit. Dick braced for whatever thought Bruce had been chewing on, but instead, two large, calloused hands reached out and gently straightened his tie.

Dick met Bruce’s eye. On the other side of the car door awaited a funeral with a minister, mourners, and an open grave. They both knew what to expect, both would likely pay for it in their own ways later. A united front. For Tim. Dick nodded, once, and Bruce returned the gesture before letting Alfred open the door.
These are two people who love each other very much and love a third person equally as much and I love it so much.
Tim sat at the front, shoulder to shoulder with his father.
The one thing I can't do in these notes that I could in a printed book is pointedly underline and/or circle things with no other comment.
He could remember being where Tim was now, at the edge of a grave looking down into incomprehensible loss and an uncertain future. He remembered leaning into Bruce, then a virtual stranger, and being grateful that he wasn’t alone, that there was someone whose side he could cry into, whose arm could circle around his shoulders, firm and warm.
They're fighting and Dick still knows Bruce will always be there for him. 🥺 Write me a fam like that or I don't want it.
And then Bruce was there, shrugging on his Brucie persona like an old coat just before stepping into Jack’s path.
Dick had forgotten what a relief it could be to have Bruce take charge. He’d forgotten what a marvel it could be to watch his grunting, reclusive guardian oil the gears of Gotham society to get exactly what he wanted.
A magic trick doesn't become less impressive when you know how it's done. If anything, you get the magic of the illusion and the awe of the sleight of hand skill.
He wanted to throw something. He wanted to break something. “You have to do something.”

“That’s today,” Dick argued. “And tomorrow, if Jack doesn’t care, which he won’t. What a măgar.” His mother would’ve washed his mouth out for that one, but it felt good, to throw venom at Jack Drake with his words at least.
I've backed off Romani Dick because it's a line of fanon that I don't feel any particular way about (and "ah the traveling circus people are wandering Romani, of course" feels not great from me, someone with zero Romani heritage), but I was still parsing through the heaps of fanfic I'd devoured and trying to figure out what I ascribed to as a writer, so there it is. (I was also still desperately trying not to swear in English in my fics.)
“He can’t go back there. He’s just a kid, and he shouldn’t be alone in an empty house. Who’s going to look after him, the cleaning lady?” Bruce’s reply was little more than a mumble, “Turned out okay for me.” “Because you’re the picture of mental health,” Dick snapped. 
Richard. Apologize to Bruce AND Alfred.
He stopped pacing and pinched the bridge of his nose. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that.” “You did,” Bruce countered, his voice placid.
Let me tell you, that response, without malice or heat? A power move.
Dick knelt in front of Bruce’s chair so he could look up into Bruce’s eyes. This was something he knew well, a sensation as ingrained into him as somersaults and backflips. He would always look up to Bruce, one way or another.
THAT'S HIS DAAAAAAAAAAD
“He needs Jack Drake.” Bruce sighed, and Dick, still on his knees, noticed the lines around his eyes, the silvery hair twinkling at his temples. When had they changed? When had they both grown up and apart?
Noticing your own parents age hurts. It's lowkey terrifying. And then add being fresh off a funeral for someone else's parent...
Bruce held out a hand, and Dick let him help him to his feet. “I’ll be better,” Bruce promised quietly, Dick’s hand still in his. “He’s welcome here. He’s been... welcome. I’ll be better about making that clear, from now on.”
Double meaning maybe?? Who's to say????
Dick tightened his hand around Bruce’s, a hug between two people who had fallen out of practice. Wuss. The sneer had an Alley cant to it.
As Dick says in the very next time, they have to be better. Together. Because brothers die and parents die, too.
Dick leaned in and wrapped his arms around his... his Bruce. 
Sometimes I use this kind of language as a character-specific hesitation. Here, I think it was meant to be because I'd only written Mother Bruce the year before and I liked the emotional uncertainty of Bruce as legal guardian but not necessarily parent. However, another, more heartwarming way to read this is that for Dick specifically, Bruce isn't a step less than a parent, he's more. He is legal guardian and big brother figure and mentor and friend and dad. He is not one of those things, he is all of those things, and so he is Dick's Bruce.

See, I honestly feel like I do not get the anti-ai art position. That isn't saying that I couldn't be convinced, just that nothing I've seen so far has been at all convincing.
The big thing for me is the concept that training AI on art is "stealing." I just don't see how it is.
Like, the connotations of that statement seem to follow the sort of emotional tenor of "this person broke into a gallery, stole all the art, took it back to their secret lab, and then their evil robot learned to copy it."
But like...someone copying a jpeg and saving it is not stealing. Someone studying another artist and copying their style isn't stealing. If I pretend an AI is a person, then we are just describing someone studying art for a long time and then making (admittedly derivative) works based on it, which is what most artists do. Not all artists, there's absolutely some super cool, amazing stuff out there, but frankly, yeah, AI isn't less original than your average DeviantArt artist. There a lot of crap out there. Now there's more. Oh well.
The issues with AI art that have weight to me are as a disruptive force that will destroy art as a profitable career for millions of people. But that's... capitalism? Like, I'm a professional driver, I'm fully aware that self driving vehicles good enough to make humans obsolete are maybe five to ten years out (although considering Elon Musk is a lying child, the numbers on that are tough to gauge), but like...I don't need to start talking about how computers don't have enough soul to drive, or acting like anyone who fills out a captcha is personally breaking into my home to choke me to death. I can just advocate for UBI.

So, story time.  During my gap year and in my freshman year in college, I had my first music history courses.  These were in the history of Western art music, and as such, we learned quite a bit about Church music.  Which is understandable -- the Church and the royal courts were the sponsoring institutions for an awful lot of Western art music.  In fact, so many composers wrote concert Masses that, in more than one of these classes, students had to learn the various parts of the Roman Catholic Mass, because these were the sections of a concert Mass.
I learned the structure of a Roman Catholic Mass along with the rest of the students, but the bit of me that would develop into an ethnomusicologist who studies Jewish music had Questions.  The Jewish liturgy is just as structured as the Roman Catholic liturgy.  Jews lived in Europe (or, at least, they had lived in Europe during the time that Western Art Music History was happening).  Jews could be composers, too -- We learned about people named Mendelssohn and Mahler.  Why, then, were there no Jewish equivalents of concert Masses?
There are a lot of reasons, of course.  And, eventually, in a footnote, one of these music history courses coughed up Ernest Bloch’s 1933 Avodath Hakodesh.
But here’s something that your average Western art music class might not show you.  Here is a stunning work by Yossele Rosenhlatt.  The video description says that “The text consists of citations from the Book of Numbers, Psalms, lamentations and the sayings of Solomon in Hebrew: G-d is praised and blessed and asked in prayer to take us back to himself out of mercy.”  If you know the text, you’d recognize it as the set of prayers said before the Ark as we put the Torah scroll away after reading it.
It’s just one little piece of a whole liturgy, but man alive, listen to this!  It’s beautiful, rich, classic, stunning.  It’s also very Jewish -- this is classic Rosenblatt, a blend of tenor bel canto artistry and the particular ornaments and krekhtzes that call to mind a traditionally-trained hazzan.  This is great Jewish art music in the same way that a Bach or a Mozart Mass is great Christian art music.  And I assert that it should have as much of a place in an art music history class as concert Masses. 
If I can learn Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei, surely students can also learn P’sukei D’Zimrah, Shema, Amidah, Torah, Musaf, right?

Bisexual, fight me/hj.
Got his love for Jazz from his mother (Clementine Kane), she listened to Jazz while she cooked and cleaned,and when Amos was old enough,she took him to his first jazz bar.
He was often times compared to his older brother by his family,not on purpose (sometimes though his father would compare him to julius who was a Straight A+ student) but it did make him harbor a slight resentment to his brother. He got over most of it when he was a little older.(key Word,most of it)
In highschool he was your average student,brilliant but he was fine with just having a C or a B.
Julius got all the dates,he wars the popular kid. (Look at him and tell me im wrong),Big nerd too but there was something about him. Amos was semi popular by proxy,however he kept to himself.
That did not stop the fact that he got his own little fan club (women and men alike) but he always found it a little weird.
Didnt date much in highschool, he was charming and a total Lady/Man Killer once he opened up though.
He decided to learn how to play the saxophone during his sophmore Year,his mom and dad were saving to Get him a tenor saxophone for his birthday.
Amos got to practice music in his highschool's band/music club and once he got a job he could afford classes.
I think their family was pretty middle class,so his parents were saving up for both of their kids college. Hence why Amos had to get a job.
His first job was a record store! And since he knew a lot about jazz and Music in general he got to Open the shop to more of an older demographic. Which brought in more costumeres
Both him and Julius grew up in the house of life as well, I think they lived in the 21st nome up to their early/mid 20s.
Another point of comparison for Julius and amos is that as we know,julius was better than amos in magic. Which just fed at the slight envy Amos had.
Amos still loves his brother very much,always did. But there has been a few times where his scorn has gotten the best of him,especially during fights between him n his brother.
But going back to his life outside the house of life...
Amos got a small appartment with his own money (..and magic) and he was the chillest neighborg you could ever Ask for. He had made sure the walls are insolated so he can play as loud as he can
Always took his trash out, always said hi when someone passed by. Chill ass dude.
He sometimes played on his balcony when he needed to get out his feelings and a lot of the neighborgs and passerbys would just sit and hear him play
The reason why Amos moved out,was becuase he needed to separate himself from his family and find who he was. Cheesy maybe but hes always been in his brothers,his family's, shadow.
Despite that,he did follow some rules of his family.
Always dressed the best he could, making sure he looks perfect (as Julius told Carter, being a black Man in the USA makes it so that you always have to act and look a certain way to not get in trouble/be considered at the same level ) . Was always polite (even if he had to swallow his anger), had to always speak perfectly (barely could use any AAVE, or slang).
It pissed him off, and rightfully so. Having to perform a way and whitewash himself just to be "accepted". However he only ever complained about this to his Friends,
And speaking of Friends,around them the Real Amos came out, hes hilarious and charming, incredibly kind and so very loving and protective.
Hes the designated driver most of the time, he is the one that his AFAB Friends have given him the rights to guard their drink (hes got a MEAN RBF AND WILL INTIMIDATE SOMEOME INTO RUNNING AWAY IF NEEDED)
Most alive on the dancefloor,mans can DANCE.
Has gone to an incredible ammount of gay bars, hes seen Julius in some of them and both have laughed it off. (I hc Julius as pansexual,theres nothing Straight in that whole bloodline)
He orders those fancy ass drinks, he loves them.
Those glasses he uses are actually sun glasses,helps Him with his light sensitivity (theres also nothing neurotypical in that whole bloodline either)
As stated in a previous hc in this list, he studied music. Balancing magician studies and uni PLUS WORK had Amos seriously seeing himself with grey hairs even before julius ever even thought about it.
Hes gotten a few pets in his life, a few cats,birds and dogs.
The first cat he ever got on his own was a little black cat he rescued from the streets on a stormy night when he was walking back from a late uni class.
He heard the cat meowling cuz it was cold and he grabbed the sweet kitten and put it underneath his suit jacket without previous thought.
He named the cat Amunet. (He knows its very egyptian of him,he finds It hilarious)
Amunet was his quality control with ppl,for some reason the cat was incredibly good at sniffing out ppl who werent the best company.
Iskandar took Amunet in when she got older and a lot more fragile, Amos was fine with it since he knew she would be in good hands.
And before I change subjects here lemme add this:
Amos always dresses in suits,that doesnt mean he doesnt have any normal clothes. He does,but he uses them indoors or when hes getting groceries.
One of his neighborgs knocked on his door to ask for something and they found Amos wearing a black shirt with a jazz bar's logo and some blue plaid pants.
That outfit had no bussiness fitting him that well and that neighborgs had to leave from how red they were.
I also hc he does his own hair, he uses bonnets And that hes got a whole routine for his hair.
Seeing amos in a bonnet is a treat
I also hc his "barrel chest" body comes from his father,Amos barely works out, and hes fine with being a little chubby. Adds to his charm.
During And after the events of TKC.
Amos loved ruby, they were really good Friends with eachother. And was devastated when she died.
Was fuming and furious when Iskandar forbid him from seeing his family.
He loves his niece and nephew with a passion,def was the cool uncle. He was so angry that he could see his family.
Partially the reason why he move back into the 21st nome. He felt like he needed to be close to his family somehow (I hc their parents died or retired somewhere before the events of the saga and left the 21st nome)
He sometimes would sneak to london to make sure sadie was okay, it pissed him off to see her being bullied or seeing her grandparents not take care of her hair (I want curly haired sadie)
He was devastated when the whole Julius-osiris thing happened. He blamed himself for not doing something more to stop Julius (even if there was nothing he could do)
Set's possesion fucked him up obviously,Set would taunt him with all the mistakes hes done in his life, his feelings of inediquacy or his own minor inferiority complex.
He obviously dealt with PTSD afterwards, he had vivid nightmares and would wake up crying and screaming. He couldnt even stand the color red or the deserts or any mention of magic for a good while.
He could barely eat and let alone shower or get out of bed. His hair was a GODDAMN MESS and sometimes Carter and sadie would help him out (he didnt like the kids doing that but theyre as stubborn as he is)
He couldnt do magic for a while,so he couldnt help in restoring his house.
He missed his family dearly after he went to heal to the first nome.
During book 2 he slowly rediscovered himself, he met a therapist that was part of the house of life and she gladly took him in as a patient.
He started making contact with Set during book 2, Henc why set looked the way he did in russia.
It started off as small things,practicing "chaos" magic. Set slowly appeared in his dreams, first he was an ass and then he...started to warm up to Amos.
Which means Set low key fell in love with Amos. Because have you seen him? (Dark mlm story do go brr)
Set and Amos fucked,Amos topped. Dont ask me, I just know it.
During book 3 he never in his life imagined himself as the chief lector. But he saw this oportunity as a way to make change.
He followed the path of set, and hes damn good at it. Set could never step out of line with him ever again, and it was the closure Amos needed.
Some of the qualities of set rubbed off on him, he started having a darker/more sarcastic sense of humor, has done some harmless pranks and his flirting game has improved,theres some smooth/dark suaveness about him now.
Hes bootycalled set at some point I think. Set doesnt speak of it and Amos finds it hilarious.
His nightmares arent as horrible as they used to be, he barely has them now. But on the off change he has them, he Will Walk around the first nome to clear his head, play his saxophone and go back to bed.
The kanes have big parties for the holidays, the whole family comes to these cookouts they hold (yes,even julius and ruby! )
During these cookouts the kids get to see their family loosen up, ruby,amos and Julius act like college kids around eachother. They share 1 braincell
Its a sight to behold. Truly.
Once,Julius and Amos got into a playfight (as siblings do) and both ended up In the pool,making Sadie and Carter both flabbergasted and with New blackmail material.
Ruby was laughing so hard, she also told the kids of the brothers misadventures. The never saw their dad and uncle the same way since then (un a good way)

When ppl ask how he got KHUFU he always gives everyone a different story just to fuck with them. But truth is that he doesnt know or remeber how he got them
Philips of Macedonia was actually Amunet's first toy. It was an alligator, so then when iskandar took the cat in,Amos started to toy with the idea of making him a shabti.
He is a flirty drunk, he also laughs a lot more.
As chief lector he doesnt get days off,but oh he does take them sometimes. He spends the time to reconnect with his college buddies, have some fun around brooklyn,that kinda thing
Teaches sadie how to take care of her hair,takes her to black salons in brooklynn.
Very good chef. Very good,better than julius (he holds it over his brothers head a lot)
Sometimes when Julius and Amos bicker,neither know if its bcs of them being siblings or bcs set and osiris are siblings. Or both.
He has gotten a parental attachment to Walt as well, both are happy w it but they dont know if theres not some god fuckery going around.
Hes terrified of spiders,so is Julius. Both Will either jump on things to avoid it or fireball it to oblivion. When asked about it both Will vehemently deny it.
He took a love for horror after he made his peace with set. He thinks its bcs of well, the whole shebang with set.
Was really close to fireball someone after that someone tried to touch his hair after he had freshly taken care of it. He maintains that it wasnt an exageration (And I support his desicion)
Knows spanish,dont ask how. He knows it
(This is me proyecting but im sure hes got a weakness for latine people. I myself im latine so!!!!!! I can say what I want on it!!!!!)
Hes amassed costumes from around the world, little tricks when cooking or dance moves or even little things like leaving his shoes at the door.
Hes the quiet chaotic type, as in he Will be plotting about all the little seeds of chaos he can plant for weeks on end. Theyre harmless, really.
Loooves spicy food. Its cannon that he couldnt help but laugh when Carter couldnt handle the spice.
Avoids the news like the plague, he does read the newspaper sometimes if hes really bored.
He also follows some music magazines and news channel.
Hes gone to some concerts and has taken Sadie and Carter to some (I hc sadie as a big Sleep Token fan)
He took Carter and sadie to the same jazz bar his mom took him
Played happy birthday on his saxophone for his niece/nephew's bday.
Doesnt want to have kids,and hes fine with it.
He had dumb petty fights with Julius when they were kids.
Their rooms were Next to eachother in the 21st nome. So imagine the Shenanigans
They did grow up in the 21st nome, it was their family's house after all. However they couldnt really invite non magicians over. They never brought anyone home
Ruby was the first ever outsider to set foot in there.
Clementine and the brothers father absolutely ADORED Ruby.
Uncle was the kids god-father. Always made sure the kids had everything they needed.
Bent over backwards for his nephew/niece. Always Will.

Also, for those who care, we're going with choral voice typing here because I think it makes more sense to the average person than operatic voice typing. And I don't wanna try and explain Fächer to Tumblr Dot Com. So... If you're a Mezzo, but (like most mezzos) sing Alto in a choral setting, then go with Alto.
I'm also aware that proper voice typing can take years, and that many people get assigned, say, Soprano in middle school choir, and then don't keep up with singing for long enough to allow their voice to mature and settle. Like... this poll isn't gonna be an actual indicator of the distribution of adult voice types, and that's fine.

Jeffrey Brister: Platt’s an incredibly talented vocalist, there’s no doubt there, and a good performance can do a lot to elevate average material -- like, say, a pleasant but unremarkable folky song about being sad and gay. His delicate falsetto dancing over top of the guitar, how the chorus blooms with yearning in a name, staying away from theatre kid pyrotechnics -- it’s a laundry list of good choices, and I’m just bowled over by its simple and straightforward beauty and earnestness. Alfred Soto: Depending on my diet that day I can embrace this unmitigated schmaltz or vomit at the sight of it. Neither the falsetto nor the lyrics have heard of subtlety. I am past the age when unrequited lust wears the drag of lachrymosity, but I hope I'm not callous enough to understand when young adults need it. [6]
Hannah Jocelyn: A friend and I made a list of songs about unrequited queer love, specifically when it comes to incompatible orientations. This is Ben Platt’s entry in the canon, and it’s the best song I’ve heard from him, the first that doesn't sound like rejected tracks from either Dear Evan Hansen or Blue Neighborhood -- it starts off very Simon & Garfunkel, but the more ambient Sufjan Stevens territory on the chorus fits him shockingly well. One problem: the Melodyne detracts from how sincere and pure the writing is (isn't Dave Cobb known for his authenticity?), to the point where Platt sings "if I can't get closer then I am destroyed" and sounds like a Dalek. Normally that would be a dealbreaker, and maybe I would dismiss this if I hadn't, in fact, had an Andrew or five. Cobb's production is gentle and tender enough that I can just lie back and think of all the pretty girls. [7]
Isabel Cole: I do appreciate the concept of this aching little ditty about the specific wrenching futility of crushing on a straight guy, and the idea of “wasting heartbreak” on someone who would never even be able to grant you the dignity of being rejected for your actual self is poignant. I can imagine the teen for whom this hits at exactly the right time, and that’s not nothing. But the first-love adolescent yearning of the lyrics fits oddly with the meandering melody and the folky arrangement (it’s giving Harry Styles Presents VH1’s I Love The 60s), and Platt… listen, whatever you think of  Dear Evan Hansen, no one’s ever denied that the guy can sing. Here, it’s hard to shake the sense that he’s deliberately trying to differentiate his solo work from his Broadway past by avoiding sounding too musical theater, choosing instead to flatten his clear, resonant tone into a dull, nasal drone that feels like he’s playing Barefoot Guy With Guitar in a mockumentary about hippies. It doesn’t really work -- his falsetto sounds grating, and like a lot of stage singers trying to branch out, there’s a certain mannered quality he can’t quite shake -- and the few more vibrant lines towards the end make me wish I could hear a version of this aiming for the cheap seats. Ian Mathers: As someone who has disliked Ben Platt in everything I've seen or heard him in, I was absolutely prepared to reject this song from its Cat Stevens-ass opening, but then I kept listening and... I don't know, I keep thinking about that classic tumblr post that ends with "I am cringe, but I am free." I listened a few more times and... it's kind of lovely? Something about it reminds me of Gordon Lightfoot? I remember how much songs that seemed to speak to my particular romantic torments meant to me as a teen and I can absolutely imagine the kid who is going to play this on a loop like I did Sloan's "Deeper Than Beauty" or whatever? Don't make me regret this, Platt. [8]
Nortey Dowuona: The frustrating parts of this song have nothing to do with Ben Platt's voice. Whatever his faults in Dear Evan Hansen, Ben has a mellifluous tenor that comfortably floats in the higher parts of his range, allowing certain lines that feel clunky ("what a time-wastin', sweet happiness-takin', self-esteem, mess-making, heart-breakin' shame") to float past so pleasantly that when your own voice begins to sing them, they jumble together in your throat until they all flow out with the delivery of "Andrew." Producer Dave Cobb's helium guitar chords are also not the problem -- they lift Platt's voice and remain so close to it that when they lean back and let him take center stage, they allow Platt to send his melody up and catch it comfortably. The frustrating thing is the drums; they are so thin and yet so rigid that when they enter, the song loses the butterfly subtlety it needed to soar. Derrek Phillips, who has played with Vanessa Williams and Rahsaan Barber, somehow had to anchor the song in a way that would give it heft and keep its light, breezy charm, but instead he reinforces the dull structure of a second-verse drum groove, and all the hard work done by Platt and Alex Hope is squandered. A bolder choice by Platt or Cobb would've been to lean into the acoustic guitar arrangement by adding the bass and keyboards, and maybe the percussion (also done by Phillips) would act as the anchoring factor. Instead, the rigid structure kills probably the second-best thing Ben Platt has done. [7]
Jackie Powell: Ben Platt has had difficulty translating his vocal talents from film soundtrack music (the Pitch Perfect trilogy) and show tunes (The Book of Mormon and Dear Evan Hansen) into pop music. On songs like “Grow as We Go” and “Rain,” he sounded like slightly more adult versions of the characters he played. He’s leaned into motivational songs without any sort of foundation. “Andrew” works better than his previous pop offerings because of the story he paints of falling for a straight (or maybe not) friend who has led him on. A lot of these stories are coming out of the woodwork as of late with tracks such as Reneé Rapp’s “Pretty Girls” and Fletcher’s “Two Things Can Be True."  These stories need to be told and provide a certain type of respite for queer people who too have felt a similar level of pain. Platt calls the situation a “cruel joke” and self-deprecates in a witty but incredibly depressing bridge. He’s not questioning whether falling for “Andrew” wastes his time but rather declares the infatuation as a time vampire that robs more than it gives. What’s less than desired, however, is the Simon & Garfunkel cosplay he attempts in the verses. The Auto-Tune that helps layer his vocals isn’t needed. The folksiness in “Andrew” is a step in the right direction for Platt in his journey to translating better into pop. I just wish he could have paid homage to Simon & Garfunkel in a way that didn’t come across as just another Broadway character he’s playing.  [7]
Taylor Alatorre: I feel the exact same way listening to this as I do when reading the Urban Dictionary definition of any relatively common male first name. [3]
Katherine St. Asaph: What is it about guys named Andrew that inspires plaintive folk songs? Having no longings for any Andrews, I can only connect to these songs through my nostalgia, and thus Platt's is my favorite because it navigates those channels best -- which is to say it sounds exactly like Simon & Garfunkel. [6]
Mark Sinker: Not sure I remember a song where the jump from chest voice to head voice for the high notes feels so extremely foregrounded as a DECISION NOW BEING TAKEN. AND IT'S DONE! I can imagine arrangement where this works with the content: except here’s it’s like literally everything else about the song is funneling your attention to this choice instead, and I don’t think it’s what I’m meant to be thinking about? You have a nice voice mate, sorry your crush didn’t work out, that sucks.  [5]
Jacob Sujin Kuppermann: Every time I've tried to write this blurb it's come out too ironic -- couching my appreciation for it in my disbelief that Dear himself could make such a perfect rendering of the version of Sufjan Stevens' music that exists only in the minds of 2014 Tumblr users, things of that nature. But let me meet sincerity with sincerity and say that "Andrew" wrecks my shit completely every time I listen to it, every achingly beautiful guitar arpeggio and breathy note from Platt activating all of my sentimental impulses. Most of all I admire the commitment here -- there's never a moment of performance from Platt or his producers that shies away from the full teenage gay melodrama of the lyrics. Weaker souls would have tried to subvert the maudlin stuff here. I'm glad they didn't. [9]

ARE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?: I am named after a character in a bible story
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?: I cried on Thursday in my improvisation seminar because the professor was being a dick and really uncompassionate about how literally the entire class was struggling to improvise a countermelody over a basse danse tenor while following TInctoris' rules of counterpoint. I had practiced for multiple hours over the last two weeks and been frustrated every time. I understand the rules and wrote a countermelody in less than 10 minutes but translating it into actual performance just hasn't clicked yet. The professor is a very rigid thinker and has not adjusted to the level we are at in a way that is supportive.
DO YOU HAVE KIDS?: No, only my furry child. I want to be a parent to humans someday if possible though. (I've decided not to try and have my own biological kids after I turn 40 though so the Viking and I have got about 9 years of wiggle room left)
WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY/HAVE YOU PLAYED?: When I was a kid I did gymnastics and I competed one time, but I stopped when I was 14 because I am giant (compared to your average gymnast) and I wasn't improving.
DO YOU USE SARCASM?: Very poorly haha
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?: Whether they dress themselves in a unique way, and whether I vibe with their general aesthetic and demeanor.

ANY TALENTS?: I think I'm a good singer/actor. I am very proud of my even stitching when I embroider or sew by hand. I also have a talent for misunderstanding jokes.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?: Sewing clothes, usually historical or historically inspired pieces. Knitting. Some calligraphy. I'm a casual Scadian. I read sometimes, mostly fantasy. I flirt with all my hot friends.
DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS?: My beautiful asshole son, Escamillo, who is a brown tabby with gorgeous blotchy markings who is super soft but very reactive and bite-y.
HOW TALL ARE YOU?: Somewhere between 5'8" and 5'9"
FAVOURITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL?: Growing up it was math but now it's Music!
DREAM JOB?: College music professor who teaches voice lessons, music history, and opera workshop but not music theory, and who has a professional ensemble that does living history concerts in immaculate historical dress, and who also occasionally gets to sing in an opera. I'll settle for anything that lets me not have to worry about paying bills.

Two very different questions inspired by the asks about vanity and the ask about Orpheus! 1) Which of the ROs are the most vain? 2) Which of the ROs have the best singing voice?
Regarding your first question:
The most vain love interest is an upcoming one; that is, Francesco. That man is extremely vain.
Vesa is quite vain, but in a fun and light-hearted way, and if she would mess up her appearance in some way, such as smudge her make-up, she would just be amused.
Narciso isn't vain per se, but could be interpreted as such, because he feels that he has a beautiful image to uphold.
Aubrey would probably have been vain if it wasn't for the fact that he's so lazy. He makes up for it by admiring his reflection a lot when he dresses up.
The Physician isn't vain, but she loves feeling pretty.
Regarding your second question:
Narciso, who is a soprano (or sopranist,) has the best singing voice bar none. His voice is angelic.
The Physician has a very sweet singing voice. She's an alto.
Aubrey doesn't sing, but if he did, it would be impressively average. Very unexceptional. He's a tenor.
Vesa's singing voice is quite dreadful, but she thinks it's fun to sing anyway. She knows exactly how bad she is, and is amused by it. She's a mezzo-soprano.
