Rescuing Aziraphale isn't what makes Crowley happy, not really. He doesn't want him to be in danger in the first place. He wants him safe. He wants him happy.

But he does like having an excuse to take care of him, to protect him, to dote on him in a way that's safe, acceptable and would be honestly illogical to turn away. Like Crowley walks into that church, burning his feet all the way and Aziraphale nearly shoos him away? (Because of the fight all those years ago, because he must be in league with these Nazis) But Aziraphale is in actual, real danger of being discorporated, of being sent back to heaven for who knows how long, so how can he actually reject Crowley's offer to protect him, right?

So every time Crowley does this, the whole "gallant knight swooping in to save Aziraphale from his own follies" thing, it's basically completely irrejectable, safe love Crowley can offer up to Aziraphale with no fear of rejection or overstepping the invisible line between them. Aziraphale can say "you go too fast for me, Crowley" a hundred times in so many varied ways and Crowley accepts this but he's never going to reject Crowley's love when it comes to him as a hand pulling him free of oblivion. That's what Crowley likes. Being able to love Aziraphale in a way that he knows will never be rejected.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s very likely that we are not gonna get a Buck and Eddie kiss in tomorrow’s episode or them confessing their feelings. It’s likely we may have Buck come out to Eddie and that’s it. And we may even possibly get a little moment of some kind of realization for Eddie. And if we don’t get any of those things, that it isn’t cause for concern. This is long form storytelling and unfortunately there’s not going to be any sort of instant gratification no matter how much people want it. They’re telling us a story and it’s unfolding beautifully. Yes it may be a slower journey than most, but the outcome surely will be worth it. And it will be wholesome and beautiful and very much needed for these two individuals. Please be patient and understand that if things don’t go a certain way tomorrow, that once again doesn’t confirm it’ll never happen. So don’t get upset if certain words are said amongst each other, and they behave a specific way that may not be to your liking. Buck and Eddie, in my opinion at least, are the ultimate endgame and they’re slowly giving us their stories on how they eventually come together as one. Please be patient and enjoy the road, however bumpy it may be. It will all be worth it in the end I promise.

Jesus Christ almighty I had a patient last night who spoke a language that we could not get a translator for all night. But apparently the language is similar enough to another language that is really easy to get a translator for, so not only was I fuckin calling interpreter services every hour in the hopes that SOMEONE would magically become available, every other resource I could find was like “we have resources for you for a language your patient doesn’t speak. Is that helpful?”

IT WAS NOT HELPFUL. It’s like if you needed an English translator and people kept being like “hmmmm. Well we’ve got guy who speaks German?” Except it does get to the point of desperation and failed attempts at miming and communication boards that you are like “yeah fuck it, let’s give Hans a shot. He cannot be doing any worse than I am right now.”

what part of italy are machete and vasco from? not their birthplace since from what i've seen you're still workshopping that. where do they live? i assume rome?

In the 1500's setting Vasco lives and was born in Florence, his family has lived there for centuries. Machete was born in Sicily, was taken to Naples to serve as an apprentice and ended up living and working in Rome (and more specifically today's Vatican city, which as you may know has been an independent country since 1929 but wasn't back then). They first met when they were both studying in Venice in their late teens/early twenties.

I think in the modern au they live together somewhere in Florence.
