I would just like to say, on my blog we do not hate on each other. no matter what you ship, what characters you like/hate, or your thoughts on what is happening with the new episodes of st, you are safe here.

People attach themselves to characters like billy Hargrove, Bucky Barnes (MCU), Hannibal (NBC), Loki (MCU), and Moriarty (Sherlock BBC) because they see some sort of reflection of themselves in those characters. We shouldn’t be sending people death threats for having attachments to traumatized characters, toxic characters, or villainous ones. You hate billy? Valid. Hate Hannibal? Understandable. Dislike Jonathan Byers? Me too. But like,,, attached billy/harringrove? Valid. See yourself in Hannibal? My bestie is a Hannibal kinnie. Love Jonathan/jancy ? Go for it bro.

I’m not gonna attack someone else for having a different opinion than me. I’m so happy the fandom is alive again, but lord Jesus y’all we need to treat each other better.

Mutuals and followers: ship steddie, share your conspiracies about how billy, eddie, and bob are still alive, or ship Nancy and Steve for all I care. I will listen to your comments and validate your connections/thoughts/traumas. Don’t be gross (shipping incest, etc) but feel valid in connecting with bad characters. Because tell me you didn't actually watch the sequence of events? Firstly Hopper and Joyce leave the kids(Jonathan and Nancy are included in this) to their own accords; these are the two adults whose responsibility it is to watch after these kids.

Obviously they have a reason for leaving but they left nonetheless.

Secondly yes Jonathan and Nancy leave with the intention of killing the monster. Joyce and Hopper are dealing with the Lab, Nancy and Jonathan are dealing with the monster and both pairs obviously don't believe the kids to be in active danger(because at the time they arent.)

It's not like Jonathan and Nancy just left the kids for no reason or left while they were actively in danger.

Also it's Hopper who made the deal to give El up, aka sending Brenner and his goons to the gym where the kids are.(yes it's too save will but those are the facts)

Found another one, so I will say it again: stop saying that Jonathan and Nancy just keep abandoning the kids. I do understand what happened at the end of season 1 with them leaving the kids behind at the school that I've talked about before. Once more, they are 15/16 years old. Their thought process probably went as far as: the Byers house is not safe between it being watched and them about to lure the Demogorgan there to help Hopper and Joyce get to Will. They really had no idea that Hopper would (essentially) sell them out at the school. He had no idea that Nancy and Jonathan would leave the kids. Not the point of this post. I think we can all remember being idiots at 15 and not fully thinking things through (especially when you are neurodivergent which they are both heavily-coded for).

Season 2: I really don't think you could blame either Jonathan or Nancy for leaving town, even though they knew the gate was open. The gate had been open. For a year. If you rewatch season 2, they were told literally nothing supernatural was going on before they left. The only hint they had was Will's ongoing episodes. No one told either of them of Will's field episode before they left and everything went downhill literally while they were at the lab, which they left town from directly. Nancy started to stay with the kids once they returned, but trusted Steve to stay with them so she went to help the Byers instead (which was a very very good thing).

Season 3: As soon as they knew something supernatural was going on for sure, Nancy called Jonathan to find Will and then they went to find as many kids as they could. The other kids didn't know where Dustin was either. Yeah, they were later to the game then the kids or Joyce and Hop, but neither went to them (and technically Steve and Robin didn't know the supernatural was involved until right about the same time). So don't tell me they abandoned the kids for a second in season 3.

Season 4: Tell me one moment that Jonathan left Mike and Will. El was out of his control. Nancy worked with Steve and Robin to make sure someone was always with the other kids. The only time she lost sight of that was when Steve got dragged down in the lake at which point her guilt of not letting another friend (which she had lost both Barb and Fred to the Upside-Down at this point) overrode everything else. Which is really par-for-course for her.

But, most importantly, why are you people expecting these teens to act like adults? Like seriously, they are 18 in season 4, seniors in high school. Robin and Steve aren't magically more caring about them than Nancy or Jonathan are. I'd say they are, honestly, all about equal. You gotta remember, these are their little siblings friends too. I remember my best friend's older sister (the only older sibling my middle school friend group had that wasn't married and no longer in town) as being there to watch us sometimes, cared about us, but ultimately had her own life. I did the same towards my little sister's best friend, who I gave rides to when they were 14. It makes them more accurate to real life.

I don't get people excited about Will and El sibling scenes. Did Will and El even like each other at the end of S3? It seems unrealistic to me that Will or Jonathan would welcome El into the family so easily since their mother can barely make ends meet and Joyce still has mental health issues.

Wait whatttttt lol. Why would anyone think the Byers (aka sweetest fam) wouldn’t welcome El into their family? That Joyce, Will, and Jonathan in their own ways have experienced trauma and would be a wonderful family to try to be there and understand El’s trauma, even if the transition to Cali could be very bumpy, and that they’d all be going thru things and struggling? Also Joyce’s anxiety doesn’t make her any less loving as a parent. The money thing is confusing this season due to Owens and what looks like a plot hole, but they’d still welcome her with or without money. And then why would people not be excited for Will and El as siblings? They have some similar kinds of experiences and have both been exposed to the UD, and Will has some sensory powers; they’ve been paralleled in a lot of ways. Also Jopper will happen at some point so we were always headed for those siblings to all be together as a fam. Plus it’s a new dynamic the show has never shown before and I think it will be v sweet with what they’re going through <3
