let me be real for like 5 seconds.
i genuinely…do not understand what story they could possibly be wanting to tell with the jon snow show like, it does not add up.
kit said something along the lines of jon dealing with his grief of losing family, ygritte, coming back from the dead, killing dany, would all be interesting and like yeah i agree. i’ve read a plethora of fix-it fics dealing with this exact topic. but u can’t make a show about a man brooding for ten eps or whatever (do they intend this to be multiple seasons???)
you need catharsis and resolution. and like i’m sorry but jon just? finding some sort of peace and frolicking with ghost and tormund for the rest of his life isn’t that. jonsa ASIDE how would u not have the other starks in the show. s8 left everything resolved but open. all 4 of the remaining starks are separated and there is a distinct feeling of melancholy with all their storylines. sansa’s coronation is hollow without anyone we recognize there to celebrate with her. arya’s long sought after dream of exploration feels more like another escape of the horrors she endured. bran is king, but he has given up the very essence of himself to get there. jon is exiled after saving the entire continent from a tyrant. all any of these characters ever wanted was to be home, safe with their families.
so idk what the show, if it happens, will entail, but it will make me so sad if they don’t dive into what is actually interesting about the surviving starks and all they have lost by the end of the show. but also how they can heal and grow anew, together.

Hi!! Congrats on 1k followers <3 I’ve been reading your works for a while but just now realized I wasn’t following you (oops) lol. If you’re willing, I would love to participate in your event with a romantic option 1 for game of thrones!
Jon is my top choice for this one. I really like how kind, caring, and honorable he is. He’s one of my favorite characters and I love him to death.
For the description of myself, I’m half Filipino half white with a little longer than shoulder length brown hair and lightish brown eyes. I have some beauty marks on my face too and I love them sm >< I’m generally pretty quiet and a huge overthinker but when you get me talking about something I’m passionate about, I will absolutely talk your ear off. I’m a total nerd too, especially about shows, books, space, and Hozier and his music. I’m a hopeless romantic and my love language is physical touch. I’ve also been told I’m too nice for my own good (lol).
Again, congratulations!! You deserve all the love and so much more.
hi!
thank you for participating :)
i'd consider jon to be a pretty quiet person too. he doesn't really speak unless spoken to, and he only gets involved when its something important. but with you, hed find himself wanting to talk to you more and more. he'd find it really endearing when you rambled about random things you were passionate about. it didn't matter if he even knew what you were talking about, he just liked listening to your voice and watching the way your face would light up when you got excited. i think he's definitely and overthinker too, he has a lot of duties so he'd get anxious a lot. so hed definitely understand how you feel when you tend to overthink, and he'd know all the ways he could help put your mind at ease.
i'm not sure if he'd nerd out about anything honestly. i don't think he really cares academically about anything. he's smart, but practical, and knows there's things taught in lessons that hes just never going to use out in the world. i dont think he's a reader, but i do think he likes the idea of a world outside of his own where he could be anyone he wanted to be. if you ever read any of the epics or classic adventures, he'd actually be interested in hearing about them.
i'd consider jon to be a romantic too. kind of traditional, but i don't seen any harm in that. he's very respectable, and would never do anything to dishonor a woman. he'd take his relationship with you very seriously, not wanting to mess iit up. you'd often have to remind him that you liked him for him, and that you weren't going anywhere. i don't think he's a very pda kind of guy, but i do think he'd like having at least part of himself touching you. a hand on your shoulder, his hand in yours, nudging your knee with his, that kind of stuff. subtley protective. he'd be protective in general though, both physically and verbally.
back in winterfell, sometimes sansa would be a little pushy and rude. she never intended to be, it just sometimes came across that way. but you'd never say anything rude back, just letting it blow over. jon would quickly notice how nice you are, addressing it at the end of the day. he'd have to talk to sansa at some pont, because he's not letting anyone, even his own sister, talk to you in a way any less than you deserve.
he'd take you for a walk, ghost at his side. "you don't have to let her talk to you like that, you know. she may be a lady, but you're her friend. it's not right."
you'd shrug, shaking you head. "i don't mind. she wasn't being mean or anything."
"that's not the point," he'd say, taking your hand in his. "you don't deserve someone walking all over you. why would you let them if you notice it happening?"
you'd grin, squeezing his hand. "maybe i want the gallant lord snow to come and save me...you're quite good at that, you know."
he'd fight the flush creeping to his cheeks, tugging you along. "oh, shut up. i am not gallant."
ghost would let out a huff, trotting in a circle around you before trailing ahead. you'd laugh, smirking back up at him.
"ghost thinks you are. and i'd have to agree with him."
--
hope you enjoyed this! thanks again for participating :)

a random one shot in which i twist the entire plot of game of thrones just because i can.
inspired by the prompt: a kiss to your lover's knuckle before a dance.
dont ask me how THIS came from that, it just did LOL
He finds her among the others, dressed in a silk gown of sapphire, made from a bolt of fabric he'd left in her rooms several weeks before. She's laughing, rosy lips curving as she pivots ever so slight, just enough that their eyes find each other's. Her laugh does not fade, but her eyes darken, pink tongue escaping to moisten those lips that only the night before had agonized him in the best of ways. "Your grace," Robb Stark says as he approaches, bowing low before Jon as he falls into place before them. She on the other hand does not move, not at first, smiling as if she holds onto a secret before she sinks into a curtsy, though she never once pulls her eyes from his face.
The Stark siblings have been South for nearly six months now, having arrived at the start of the new year. It was mostly out of peace between their kingdoms- once, their fathers had been at war- now, the sons have taken over and such a war had not been theirs to fight. Cousins by blood, neither Jon nor Robb had wished to shed another drop of family blood. And truth be told, neither had their fragile, broken nations. And so it was peace that was brokered, easily at that, and both Robb, the King in the North, and his sister and heir, Sansa, had come to King's Landing as Jon's honored guests.
"I thought I might dance with the lady," Jon says, beckoning towards Sansa who at least has the grace to blush. Robb casts a glance towards her and then grins as he turns back to Jon. Nodding with approval, he bows again before he makes his way through the crowd, only stopping when he catches sight of the lovely Margaery Tyrell who shines in pale gold damask, a single red rose tucked into the high coils of her hair. Reaching for her hand, he brings it close to his lips, brushing a soft kiss to her knuckles. Such a gesture sends shivers down her spine. "You look beautiful," he says as the music begins again, a slower tune that brings them closer together. They're both aware of the eyes that watch them, the King and the heir to the North, though they pay little mind of any of them watching. Her hand is small and warm in his, while her other hand dares to brush across the nape of his neck. That is what matters, that feeling her touch gives him. "That dress is most becoming."
She laughs, soft and twinkling, and once again those lips curve with a smile. "It is only because of this fine silk," she insists, though even she has been unable to do little else but admire the gown she's crafted for this night. Though quite unlike the styles of the North, she has retained some of her roots, for her red hair remains woven into braids, although it shimmers with a gem covered netting gifted to her by Margaery. That and the pendant she wears around her neck was stamped with her House sigil, worn once by her own father.
He twirls her out and then back in, closer than ever before, though she's uncertain as to how they could ever be closer. But then she snickers, recalling in fact, they could be much closer. As if Jon senses what she's thinking, it's his turn to chuckle, dipping his head down low, so close that his breath tickles her ear as he whispers what he's thought many times that evening. "I do wonder what it looks like upon the floor of my chamber, though." She blushes deep to the core of her hair, but she's breathless all the same. She likes it and he knows it. He loves that she likes it, truthfully.
Sansa Stark had come to King's Landing after a dark, somber period in her life. Once the spoiled, pampered princess of the North, she had been left alone in Winterfell with her youngest siblings, protected by the bitter cold and a small armed force. While her father had been in King's Landing, plotting against Jon's father, Rhaegar Targaryen, her mother had been with Robb on their way to join Ned in the South. What could not protect Sansa nor her siblings was the traitor Bolton House, that swept in upon hearing of Ned's death in battle and took Winterfell for themselves. Sansa was locked away in chambers and never again saw her siblings- Arya lost to the Northern wilderness, the boys certainly smothered in their chambers while they slept.
When Jon's father and Robert Baratheon was found dead after the last fight in what would now be called Robert's Rebellion- he and Robb met on the battlefield. It was Jon who spoke of peace and Robb who asked for nothing but to have help saving his sister from the unspeakable suffering she endured while held prisoner by Ramsay, the bastard born son of Roose Bolton. And save Sansa they had. Riding in at the head of an army, Robb and Jon swooped in and took Winterfell back in the name of House Stark.
Back then, she had worn her black gowns as armor, keeping to herself for the first few weeks of their arrival. Jon had assigned to her a few handmaidens and one in particular, Shae, certainly had found her place as Sansa's confidante. And then there was Margaery Tyrell, the beautiful and wealthy heiress to the Tyrell family. She had been the first to bring Sansa from her shell, the first person Jon had seen make her smile in the first six weeks of her stay. And then... One day... One day she had found him, all alone, in the quietest corner of the massive gardens. She had blushed, stammering an apology, turning to go before Jon could stop her. Two weeks later, they met again in similar fashion, though this time it had been Jon who happened upon her. They met here among the flowers nearly every day after that, hidden from prying eyes by rose bushes and fauna of the brightest green, side by side on the small stone bench.
That simple stone bench had been the place of their first kiss, a soft kiss that left him tingling long after she'd gone. Jon can't really remember when he'd begun to realize the depth of his feelings, but it was sometime between her falling in love with Ghost and Ghost with her, he really never could figure out which came first. But in truth, seeing her sink to the floor in his chambers to hug his neck, or to find the wolf asleep in her bed was all he'd needed to know the truth of how he felt. He loved her. He loved her beyond anything else in his entire life.
"The song is over..." It's her whispering and he jolts back to reality, realizing that indeed the song has ended and they still yet stand together. Springing apart, Jon offers her a most regal bow, his hand reaching for hers as he had done at the beginning. "Jon..." She calls him by name as the music strikes up another tune, this one quicker, though neither of them are thinking of dancing now.
"Meet me, in our usual spot," he murmurs over her knuckles before he drops her hand and disappears into the crowd. Sansa remains where she stands for several long moments more, her hand still yet warm where his lips had touched.
He hears her footsteps as she approaches.
There on the stone bench, he waits in silence for her, knowing without a doubt that she would come. She does not hesitate as she once might have, rather she sinks into her place at his side, silk skirts rustling with her movements. From above, the clouds shift, exposing her to the moon's pale light- though he cannot believe it, she's even far more beautiful with moonlight woven into her hair. He swallows, reaching out, hesitantly, to trace the length of her jaw with trembling fingers. "Jon..." Once again she calls him by his name and her hand reaches up, taking hold of his. This alone is enough to comfort him, to give him a sense of courage he's not even felt in battle before.
"Marry me," he says these words simply, without the hesitation from moment's before. She blinks, staring at him as if she's not heard him correctly. Before she can say a word, he's falling down to a knee before her, there on the stone bench, still yet clutching her hand. "Marry me, Sansa," he goes on, smiling up at her, those blue eyes wide in her ivory features. "It is the one thing in this life I have ever wanted-" to be a prince and then a king? It was not his first choice in life, but if he was going to do it... He wanted it to be with a woman he truly loved at his side. And despite the short time he's known her, he knows there can be no other. That there would never be another. This was not a king asking a princess, a noble, it was a man asking a woman. Nothing more, nothing less.
She cannot believe him when he speaks and yet... His dark eyed stare is so poignant, his words so very heartfelt. And truth be told, her her skips a beat at the realization of what he's asked of her. To marry him... To be his wife... Was it not what she dreamed of, if only in the privacy of her own mind? There is a warmth spreading through her and she finds herself to be nodding, over and over again nodding as she smiles brighter than she's ever smiled in all of her life. And then finally... She says what he's been waiting for.
"Yes."
When he rises up, she rises along with him, her heart singing as his hands slide into place against her cheeks. He could have spent forever right there in those gardens with her, if only time would allow. But he knows soon they must return to the ball and then to a new life they would build for themselves.
A happy world, a perfect world.

Sunlight (4/?)
Pairing: Daenerys Targaryen/ Fem!Reader
Warnings: Daenerys’ Death, angst, hurt/comfort, gore, violence, Smut between women in later chapters.
Summary: You arrive in Winterfell, and the time has come for Daenerys' meeting with the Queen in the North.
Notes: Due to what happened in the TV show, this is how I believe Dany would have reacted. Please dont send hate, I very much love the Starks. (There is no death.)
Part 1| Part 2| Part 3
Tumblr media
After the dining was over, the tables were being cleared for the true reason for Daenerys' visit.
Sansa's blue eyes meet yours, and with a nod she stands, "Your Grace, shall we-"
The Hall doors jolts open—voices rendered silent as the Princess Arianne strides into the room.
Behind her were at least a dozen sellswords, the gold of their armor emulating the designs of her gown.
You stand in surprise, kneeling to greet her. "Princess,"
Arianne joins you at the table, smiling at your greeting,"Y/N," she says softly.
"Khaleesi," she says, nodding to Daenerys before sitting beside her.
All but Daemon move to join Danys soldiers at the tables, he moves to join you at the other side of Arianne.
"Princess," Sansa nods, continuing her greeting to the Northern Ladies and Lords.
"Her Grace has come to ask for peace between us, and take away the North's Independence."
Many voices from Northerners spoke up at once, all of the mumbling about her motive and reasons—but Daenerys holds up her hand and slowly the Hall quiets.
Sansas jaw sharpens at her silence, "What is it you need of us, Your Grace?" She speaks through cold lips.
Aryas face was impassive, the only movement she made was to look at Sansa for her reasoning. Trying to gauge what her sister was doing.
But Sansa gave her no hint or emotion,  only meeting her eyes before turning back to Daenerys.
"Jon is your family, and as a sign of peace—I have come to ask for your blessing to take my revenge." Dany's face was cold as she spoke, her body trained to not portray and weakness or vulnerability.
But you saw the tensing of her shoulders as she spoke of her revenge, the deep breath she had taken at the pain in her chest.
And you grit your teeth at the fact that she was forced to relive her death for court politics. A part of you wanted her to slaughter the rest of those who had betrayed her, then they would see her true wrath. But the days of glory and vanity had passed, and Daenerys once again was left with only herself to believe in.
At Daenerys' words— Sansa was silent, both her and Arya held no surprise at the queens demands.
But at the actual statement spoken aloud, half the room erupts in shouts. Lords and ladies howling in rage.
"What of the innocents?"  "The children dead!" "Jon saved us all!" Simultaneous shouts of anger shouted from the Lords, your own soldiers silent.
It made you want to scream at them, to call on your soldiers and have them thrown outside for behaving like children.
"Kill the bitch again!"
You jerk at the Lord’s words—picking up your spear and pointing it at the heavy lord who had shouted.
The man sneers as he looks at the spear—eyes flashing back to meet yours with a flushed face.
Sansa lifts her hand—silencing them. "Calm yourselves, do not act like feral hounds in this Hall."
Daenerys' lips press tight as she turns to you—her hand curling around the crook of your elbow.
The soldiers on your side were also tense, the Unsullied in the corners gripping their weapons silently.
Arianne was quiet, her hands wound together as she tries to hold her tongue. But she held no surprise at your actions, in fact you were merciful at what she would have done to him.
Dany coaxes you down with soft touches and fire in her eyes as she lowers your arm.
The hall was silent for a few moments before Daenerys turns back toward the Northerners,"I admit my transgression of Burning Kinds Landing. "
"I had no knowledge of the Wildfire beneath the city, for such loss and devastation—I am sorry." Fingertips pressing into the wooden table.
"But my remorse will not bring back innocent lives."
She meets Sansas gaze with fire in her eyes, "Have you not done the same to those who have betrayed you? Even when you loved them."
The eldest Stark fixes her eyes on her like a wolf zeroing in on its prey. "The North did not ask Jon for murder, nor did we plan in your demise at The Red Keep. You are denying them the Queen they chose."
Arianne stands, her brightly painted gown burning like a beacon in the dim hall. "Were it another Queen, you—and your brother would have been killed for your actions."
"Daenerys Targaryen gave you mercy, especially when it was your tongue that spoke the whispers that broke the faith, was it not Lady Sansa?"
Sansa opens her mouth after a moment of thinking, but Arya cuts her off with quick words. "I love him—Jon,"
Her voice is strong as she meets Sansas eyes, standing to address the Northern Lords and Ladies.
Their posture softens at her words, it was clear they respected her as much as they did her sister.
"I do not want a war with more of our people dead. Jon has made his choice. Do not let him take you with him." She sat down in her chair, leaning back with a grim face.
You knew how much she loved Jon, and with her decision—she was forced to choose between The North and her own brother. She had chosen his death.
They quiet at her decision, a few nodding in silence.
"Your-My Lady," Brienne speaks to Sansa loud enough for all of you to hear.
"Her Grace could have killed us all for being in the council, she could have kept Lord Brandon as leverage. Yet, she brought him home to you without harm. I could not say the Lannisters would have done the same."
Minutes pass with tense mumbling and Sansa staring into the fire.
Finally she speaks, "The Lannisters are dead, and for that—you have my gratitude," she continues, "It is not an easy decision, Jon is our brother—and much more to others here. However Arya speaks true, he has made his choice. We will not interfere with your revenge."  She affirms, clasping her hands together.
Ser Davos stands at her declaration, greeting both women in the room before turning to Princess Arianne. "Princess, what news of Dorne?"
She greets him with a smile, "Do you speak of Her Graces' betrayal, or of this alliance Ser Davos?"
"Forgive my boldness. We all wish to know what Dorne's plans are?" He sits back down.
You held back the snicker rising on your tongue.
"Dorne deposed the Prince because of his betrayal to Her Grace. I now hold Dorne." Her eyes pass over the room, "The seven Kingdoms never truly cared for us, and yet we are here."
"We have suffered." She throws her hands out with her words, "It is time that we are given the respect we deserve, and we will Aid Daenerys Targaryen with Fire and Blood."
Daenerys and Arianne share a mutual look of respect.
But Dany did not hide her anger, leaving the Hall with tight lips and a heavy stride. You watch her meet Drogon as he lands outside. He senses her distress, scales bristling and wings spreading against the unknown threat. But his eyes were on hers, and it brings a smile to your face at his love for her.
Princess Arianne curls her arm through yours, gaining your attention to speak as you walk through the halls.
➳ ➳ ➳
You knock gently at Daenerys door,  opening it at the lack of protest. She stood by the window, her back to you—braid falling down her back.
"Y/N," she greets, voice almost a whisper.
"What is wrong?" You ask.
"A dragon has no remorse, no second thoughts for what they have done." She turns to you—eyes red with tears,"But a Mother weeps."
You rush to her side, cradling her face with gentleness you had forgotten you possessed. "We will find the sun," you whisper, "In a child's smile, in the stars that light the sky."
Dany pushes her face into the crook of your neck as a reply, although silent—you can still feel her chest shaking with her cries. You clutch at the back of her dress, your teeth gritting together at her pain.
"Will you speak to me of Naath, and the butterflies?" You ask, wiping her face with your sleeve.
She nods to you, a laugh on her lips. "Yes," her voice still wavering, "I will tell you of Naath, and the butterflies."
You kiss her cheek gently, pulling back to begin unlacing your gown. She watches you with her violet eyes, unweaving her braid and setting the dragon pin on the end-table.
She waits for you before getting into bed, her hand outstretching silently to join her. You take her hand, folding your arm underneath your head to face her.
Dany pulls the covers over you, her hand grasping yours, "The Naathi people were gentle, and kind. They took us in with warmth and we shared many meals. At night we watched the stars, and there was no talk of war or death."
Her pale hair was like a Halo around her head in the dim light. And you thought in that moment perhaps Daenerys was, the love that you had sought your whole life.
She blinks slowly, purple eyes crinkling as she imagines Naath. "The sun was warm, and there were so many different butterflies. Blues and purples, such was the beauty of the Naathi people themselves too." Her face lights up at the thought, and you smile at her sudden happiness.
You wanted to see her smile like this always, to experience life as she was meant too. Without pain and hate. But that was not a fate either of you had been given.
"Missandei spoke to me of Naath.. It was as beautiful as she said." she looks down, guilt weighing heavily on her mind, "I only wish to hear her voice one more time."
You reach for her curls, running your hands through her hair to comfort her, "And you will. When you are old and grey and surrounded by lemon trees."
Her eyes widen, then close with the rise of a sad smile on her lips. Soon after she was asleep, and you hoped her dreams were of Missandei and all those she had lost.

episode 4 of got my reactions:
so first of all
the things that I didn't like at all:
I think Dany should listen to Sansa when she went back to Dragonstone. Dany should listen to Sansas strategy because it was really smart to get some fucking rest after the zombie battle. I didn´t like that at all, when Jon was like: hey! You´re talking to my Queen, Sansa and Arya. Better watch out, instead to say to Dany that Sansa is right. But we know Jon. This stupidy of his. And his battle strategy sucks too - the Battle of  Bastards proved that.
Arya was like a heartless Sansas bodyguard here. Excuse me? Wtf. We get it Arya, but can you act like herself? Like for yourself?
Tyrion and Jaime small talk with Bronn. It felt like it was expected. It felt so natural, they were speaking like: hey bro, I want to kill ya. and others: yeah, ok, but I have a better offer for you. Bronn was there like at some fucking job interview that he wants so badly, so he brought a fucking crossbow.
You know, I like Dany. I really do. But when I saw her sad, alone when everybody was drinking, Jon included, she was so fucking alone. In the first time it hits me that she doesn´t belong there at all. The whole meaning of her being there was really ONLY for HER armies, that Jon desperately needed, now he is NOT near her. Tyrion is with his brother, like nothing happened between them. Only that Spider watched her like a predator waiting for his feast. NOBODY THANKED HER. like FUCKING NOBODY - PUBLICLY! I was angry, pissed at all of them. She made a toast to Gendry, named him Lord of Storm´s End, gets only strange starring from Sansa and Jon, they were surprised (I was too) AND Daenerys drank for Arya Stark, she told that important thing to EVERYBODY! A fucking TARGARYEN in STARK HOME told everyone that ARYA STARK is a HERO of THIS WAR, not HER! And nobody told Daenerys only “thank you, my Queen?” I kinda expect that from Sansa? I don´t know why, but I had very little respect left for Lady of Winterfell. She was the only one from the North that thanked her, but she could that in PUBLIC TOO. - AND THAT PISSED ME OFF ON SO HIGHER LEVEL LIKE NEVER BEFORE IN HISTORY OF GAME OF THRONES.
I MUST NOT mention  Rhaegal, Missandei death, because IT IS SO PAINFUL.
Tyrion and Varys chilling like nothing is happening. The SPIDER? The best of Infos in Westeros? How couldn´t have knew about Euron? Here is something that I DONT FUCKING LIKE. AT ALL. I SMELL TREASON. And it stinks like miles away.
GHOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what kind of the master is Jon? HOW could he be a KING if he doesn´t care about his fucking direwolf? WTF! (at least, Dany is dragon lover, she cares about her dragons)
the thing I did like:
the beginning of the episode. The sorrow that everybody have in common. Dany cried in front of everybody, Sansa too. Jon´s voice was broken.
Dany names Genry as Lord of Storm´s End. Really caught off guard. Didn't expect it.
Dany talking with Jon to NOT tell anyone about his parentage. Because NED STARK will be like a fucking joke here. And even as a Stark fan, you must admit that Dany was right.
Brienne and Jaime. canon, not really lol.
Podrick with TWO GIRLS in the background!
Starbucks coffee from Westeros! (that was funny, a funny stupid mistake)
Dragons and their relationship with Dany. It was really sweet, when Rhaegal leaned to Danys touch at Winterfell T_T
I was sad with Tormund! I think he deserves Brienne more than Jaime. like he was fucking crying! (also drunk, but..)
DRACARYS! + THE MUSIC AT THE END. I KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS. DANY IS AVENGER NOW. hide thanos, I mean CERCEI.
the adventures of Sandor Clegane and Arya Stark is back! YEY!
and Sam and Gilly! I am happy for them.
Ok, there are plenty of them that I was really shooked. for example: My fate for Lady of Winterfell is NOW crushed. And I think ... the Mad King was right. and Missandei too.

arya and gendry fanfic (written by bf)
The battle was intense and the fires burned around winterfell as blood was spilled on the ground. Gendry sliced his way through one white walker and turned around to pound another ones face in with his hammer just as he got turned a white walker stabbed him in the shoulder with its weapon. Gendry gripped the dead mans arm and sliced its head off as he dropped to his knees pulling the walkers weapon out of his shoulder and dropped his weapons as he was on his hands and knees on the ground with pain rocketing through his shoulder.
At that moment the last few hours passed before his eyes and all he could think of was Arya straddling him and riding him like a fucking bull. Was that what he had dreamed of since the moment she pushed him to the ground or when she told him she could be his family yet he was too fucking bullhead and a massive idiot to agree? He didn’t admit to himself at that moment that he was in love with her since he didn’t think he was worthy of her. Then seeing her again when he had finally made it to winterfell his heart started to race it was the first time he had seen her in years, since he spent years thinking she was dead but having a small hope she was still alive out there and he would see her again. Did he actually believe he would see her again? Of course not he wasn’t that lucky and to even make it to the place all those years ago she invited him to join her too was still a shock even to him. Only a few hours ago his dreams had come true and he was thinking he was the luckiest bastard to have the woman that haunted his dreams to be asking him to make love to her before they possibly both die.
He can still feel her soft skin under his rough hands as he gripped her thighs as she got on top of him, and her soft lips as she bent down to kiss him once again as she lowered herself down onto him taking him fully inside her and…. shit Gendry you are in the middle of a bloody battle possibly going to eat shit and die while on your hands and knees and you have a fucking boner! Get up! He screamed to himself as he pushed himself up and back onto his feet. No he wasn’t going to die here not today Arya told him, after they had gotten dressed in a rush after they heard the horn going off that the battle was about to begin, Arya gripped his arm and pulled his face down to hers and kissed him hard one last time telling him dont die as he told her the same thing. Hard to keep a bloody promise like that in the middle of all those but he be damned if he was going to not do as m’lady says! Not only is Arya beautiful, sexy and incredibly dangerous, based on the scars he saw on her and he wanted the story behind those scars since he’s pissed off at himself he wasn’t there to prevent those from happening, she can handle herself in a fight and win. The way she threw those daggers with such precision at that post when they talked near the forge was a moment Gendry would never forget and not only did he got all hot bothered but got a massive boner at that moment as well. Super impressed and of course once again in the middle of a bloody fucking battle he had another boner! Seriously idiot get your head in the game and not die and get back to your assassin goddess intact. Or at least with all the important limbs attached. As he berated himself once more he ducked under a white walkers sword aiming for his head and he spun around and took of its head slamming it to the ground with his hammer. Back in the here and now Gendry raced over to give backup to a soldier in trouble tackling a white walker to the ground and letting out a battle cry.
Arya battled on the top of winterfell stopping white walkers from coming over the wall using the weapon Gendry had made for her and it was perfect taking down a couple white walkers at the same time. She glanced down to the courtyard and saw Gendry fighting a couple white walkers himself and of course at that moment she sees him is the moment he gets sliced in the thigh by a walkers weapon and then stabbed in the shoulder! It freezes her blood in her veins as she sees Gendry grabbed the walkers weapon in pain and before she can witness the outcome a white walker comes up to her hitting her across the head as she hits the ground. Rolling out of the way she gets back up blood coming down her face and into her eyes she swings her weapon at the walker taking off its head in an instant. She drops to one knee as she tries to get the blood out of her eyes and sees a white walker standing over her ready to take the death blow and before she can react he last thought is of Gendry and their moment in the forge. Her on top of him on the sacks and he looks up at her in awe as his hands glide up her thighs as she kisses him. He surged up toward her wrapping his arms around her crushing her to him as he entered her. As that imagine passed through her mind she saw a sword pierce through the chest of the white walker then the walker lost its head and fell as Arya saw the person who took down the walker in her moment of vulnerability, Jon! He bent down and gripped her arm as he hauled her up and used his sleeve to wipe the blood away from her eyes. Without a word he nodded his head at her as he turned around at her side and they together battled through the dead.
Winterfell was in shambles. Buildings were on fire or had collapsed during the battle. Arya’s home was gone Winterfell had fallen which meant they had to leave and find another place to be a stronghold and for protection against the Night King and his army of the dead. Jon, Arya, Sansa, Theron, jamie, Tyrion and Brienne surveyed the damage from the courtyard and the looks on their faces said it all. Defeat, sadness, anger and relief they were all still alive. Yet for Arya she was scanning the area for one bastard blacksmith that she was hoping and begging was still alive. The dragon queen had told them they had to leave Winterfell was no longer secure and they needed a different place to defend. She mentioned a place but Arya was only half listening and missed it. As they were making plans to leave and gather what was left of the men left ad the weapons that weren’t broken or damage Arya walked around the courtyard looking for Gendry.
The battle was over for now and his shoulder and leg were killing him but that didn’t stop him from gathering weapons and helping the injured. He knew they had to leave to a location the dragon lady/queen mentioned so they were packing up what they had to get there. Every so often he would look up hoping to see Arya but every time he got disappointed and his heart broke a little more when he didnt see her. She was alive she had to be because come on it was Arya strong, stubborn assassin ninja who looked at death and said not today. He kept telling himself that as he continued to help others and get things ready to move. Wiping his arm across his forehead he felt eyes on his back and he only got that feeling from one woman every time she was near. He spun around and saw Arya staring at him with utter relief on her face as she ran toward and crashed into him as she wrapped her arms around his neck as where at the same time he wrapped his arms around her crushing her to him. She kissed him right then and there in front of everyone and he didnt give a rats ass he kissed her back just as hard he was sure they would have bruised lips and possibly a chipped tooth but that didnt matter. He was whispering against her lips saying she was alive thank god she was alive as she said the same things and smiled against his lips. They pulled away from each other but not very far and he noticed a cut above her eyebrow and on her arm as she softy touched his shoulder wound and glanced down at his leg. With her here in front of him he couldn’t feel the pain she was a perfect numbing agent.
As they both walked toward the medical area to patch wounds they heard the plans to leave and get ready as soon as possible. The wounded would be placed in the back of the carts and tended to on the way others who were able would be at the front on horseback as they followed the dragon queen and her dragons to a new location. Arya knew Gendry could barely walk and he got into one of the carts and sat on a pile of hay as fatigue took over and his injuries caught up to him. Arya without a second thought jumped into the cart with him and helped bandage him up as his eyes started to close. Theron took care of her wound as she held Gendry’ hand and once he was done she curled up next to Gendry as he wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her close as she placed her hand on his chest and gripped his jacket in her hand as she closed her eyes under the watchful eye of Theron as instructed by sansa.
Jon and Sansa both watched from horse behind the cart holding Arya and Gendry as they slept curled into each other. Arya’s one leg was over top of one of Gendry’ as she gripped his jacket in a fist keeping him anchored to her as Gendry’ arm had her pinned to his side as his face was turned toward her head and into her hair.  His other hand was placed on top of the arms on his chest and he gripped her elbow. Both had dead grips on the other to make sure they didn’t disappear and were still alive. Jon watched his sister and thought it was great he had found someone she could trust and possibly love even with what terror was coming for them. Sansa loved her sister and was very protective and hoped her sisters heart wouldn’t be broken too much if this man died but at the moment unlike Sansa’s luck with men Gendry seemed to be the one Arya trusted and respected to be herself and let her guard down. Sansa glanced at Theron as he continued to do as Sansa asked and making sure both was stable and checking their wounds to make sure they didn’t get infected. She use to hate his guts but now after what they have gone through and how he saved her as much as she saved him he was the only one besides her sister that she trusted. What was coming for them was terrifying and would they all make it out alive? She didn’t think so but that didn’t stop her from praying they could even if it was impossible.

Challenge: Catelyn Stark survives the red wedding and makes her way to the wall because she had nowhere else to go and finds herself under the protection of the bastard she hated. She also lives long enough to see Jon crowned king and learn the truth of his parentage. May she drown in guilt. Does her survival somehow help convince her uncle to bring the Tully army to help retake Winterfell? Will she and Jon reconcile? I dont know.
It had been luck, and a bold, self-sacrificing knight of the Riverlands that had gotten Catelyn out of the Twins, that had saved her from being slaughtered alongside her son and those loyal to him. It had been further luck, or the will of the gods, that a man of the Night’s Watch, one of their wandering crows, had found her and make the choice to take her to the Wall. There she had been left in what served as the great hall, wrapped in a warm blanket with a bowl of stew, while a young man, Samwell Tarly he’d introduced himself as, went to fetch the Lord Commander. She sat there, broken, unable to push away the memory of the sight of Robb’s lifeless body, suddenly startled from her thoughts when something bumped her arm.Looking, she was shocked to find the white direwolf, bigger now than even Robb’s Grey Wind, standing beside her, watching her with that odd red gaze. Jon’s wolf, Ghost, the boy had called him. She reached out with a shaky hand, running her fingers through thick white fur and Ghost nudged her hand with his nose before turning, laying so he was facing the door. As though he understood she had no other protection.“Lady Stark?”
The voice, familiar yet sounding so uncertain, drew her gaze from the quiet wolf.Standing in the doorway the young Tarly boy had disappeared through was the last person she had ever expected to see again. Dressed all in black, face marked by scars, looking almost the very image of her Ned, stood Jon Snow. She did not know what possessed her to do it. Her grief, perhaps, the loss of all she had loved, all she had held dear, or if it was because the boy looked so much like Ned or if it was the memory of how much her husband and children had loved this boy, but she suddenly found herself standing and crossing to him. When she wrapped her arms around him she broke. Sobbing as she clung to him. Her words, spoken to her son’s wife, rang through her head.“All this horror has come to my family because I couldn’t keep my promise. Because I couldn’t love a motherless child.”Jon held her, his embrace warm and strong, letting her cry, letting her grieve, until she was finally able to compose herself. Or at least as much as she could given the situation. He listened when she told him what had happened, what had been done to Robb and, for the first time, she saw a rage in his eyes, fierce as a winter storm but burning like wildfire.“I want to avenge him,” he had admitted to her, quietly, as though afraid to speak the words too loudly. “I want to avenge my father. I…I should have ridden south…should have joined Robb in his war…but my vows…” His hands clenched tightly and he looked at her with those grey Stark eyes. Ned’s eyes. “I will let no further harm come to you, Lady Stark. I swear, to the Old Gods and your Seven, that so long as I draw breath nothing will stop me from protecting you.”And he kept that vow. Had a room prepared for her, ordered that her presence was to be kept secret. It was safer, he reasoned, with the support of the Tarly boy and Maester Aemon, if the world believed she had perished at the Red Wedding.Months passed. Things changing in the blink of an eye. Stannis came, answering a call for support from Jon against Mance’s Wildling army, and left again with plans to retake Winterfell from the Boltons. A mission that failed they were told by Stannis’ red witch. Jon went beyond the Wall with the Wildlings, returning with horrifying tales of White Walkers and the Night’s King. And then, perhaps most disturbing, was the betrayal of men sworn to Jon as Lord Commander. Seeing the boy, seeing Ned’s son lain on that table, pale and still in death, had nearly broken her and she’d raged and screamed, begging for the gods to give him back. To not take the another piece of her husband and son from her. For Ned and Robb had loved Jon. They had love him as he had loved them. She could not stand the loss of him.Whether it was her prayers or the red witch’s magic, Jon did return, haunted by his own death for a time but, in the end, he showed Stark honor by passing sentence on those who had murdered him. And, as Ned had taught him, he swung the sword to cut them down. And then came the day Lady Brienne arrived with Sansa. The reunion with her daughter, who had thought her dead, was more than Catelyn had ever hoped for and seeing how Sansa clung to Jon, how her daughter begged him to help take back Winterfell, their home, spurred her into action. She wrote a letter to her uncle at Riverrun. She wrote to Lords of the Vale, beseeching them as the sister of their late Lady, and she wrote to Lords of the North and the Neck as the Lady of Winterfell. She had seen Jon command, had seen the loyalty he inspired in men, those of the Watch and the Wildlings, and she would do all she could to raise an army for him. To aid him as he fought to take back their home. And it was their home. He might not be her son but he was Ned’s. And he should have hated her for how she had treated how, for how she had constantly reminded him that he did not belong, he should have cast her to the wolves when she first was brought to him, and he would have been justified. But he had sheltered her. Had protected her. She, like Jon and Sansa, had been surprised at the numbers that rallied to them. The people who rallied to restore House Stark to its rightful place. To see justice done to the Boltons for their part in the betrayal of House Stark. She was even more surprised when, with the battle won, with Winterfell reclaimed and the Stark banners once more flying, when Jon was, as Robb had been, declared King in the North by the people of the North. He was a hesitant King, at first, uncertain if he should be ruler, more so because he was bastard born, but he came into his own as King.Catelyn was wary when Jon went to meet with the Targaryen girl calling herself Queen. Wary when he took only a handful of men, though he wisely took the loyal Ser Davos, but had had no choice but to watch him go. Remembering how, nearly twenty years ago now, she had watched Ned ride off, not certain if he would ever come back. She busied herself with helping Sansa rule Winterfell in Jon’s absence. Helped tend to the people, both Northerner and Wildling alike, and, when Arya suddenly returned to her, when Bran returned, both thought lost forever, she went into the Sept Ned had had built for her and prayed. Thanking the Seven for sparing her children. Thanking them for reuniting her with them. And then she prayed for Jon. She prayed for his safety. For his return. She prayed that the death to the far North was defeated and that her family would be spared more suffering. She was with Bran when the Tarly boy, who had gone to Oldtown to study to be a Maester for the Watch, arrived with news that Bran, who had grown strange in his time away, his time beyond the Wall, was not surprised by. News that bore the name of Jon’s mother.Catelyn, after listening to the two young men, seeing the evidence the Tarly boy had, had gone to the crypts and stood before her husband’s. She understood, perhaps, why he had hidden the truth. Even from her. His sense of honor likely telling him that, if she did not know, then she would be safe if the truth was ever learned. It was a stupid decision. When she left his crypt she moved down the corridor to a crypt she had never visited.Lyanna Stark’s statue was, Ned had once claimed, a poor likeness of her and Catelyn could scarcely remember the girl she had met once, during her betrothal to Brandon, to be certain if it was or wasn’t. But standing there, looking at the stone face of a girl that a war had been waged over, she suddenly found herself dropping to her knees, fresh tears spilling down her face.“Forgive me,” she sobbed softly, voice shaking, staring up at the statue’s face. “Forgive me. I…I did not know…Ned…he never told me. It is no excuse, not truly, for…for all I did…what I prayed to happen to…to your son…” She closed her eyes for a moment, picturing how things might have been different if Ned had told her the truth. If she had been able to love Jon because loving him, claiming him as her own, would have served as protection. Had she known his true parentage she could have, would have, shielded him from the world by declaring him to be her child. Her son. She could have accepted him before her family was ripped apart. She could have loved him sooner.Opening her eyes, Catelyn drew a deep, shaky breath, still staring up at Lyanna’s stone face.“I will do all I can…in Ned’s stead…to protect your son.” She reached up, hands touching the cool stone of the statue. “I swear…by the gods, Old and New, I will…I will do all I can to…to right my wrongs…I will…I will help him be a good king because…because he is already a good man. A man you would be proud to…to call son, Lyanna. Ned raised him well. I…I wish I had known…I wish I had been a better woman…but I still have time…time to do better. To make certain your son…our children…our House…survives whatever else is still to come.”Catelyn slowly rose, standing there before her sister-by-law’s crypt a moment longer, silently repeating her vow to protect and help Jon. To continue to try and mend the damage she had done before. She would never be completely absolved of her guilt, and she did not feel she should be, for she had been deeply unkind to an innocent child, but she could do right by the man that child had grown to be.

okay here we go, episode 2 second watch
(I think this is my longest liveblog I’ve done, but then again I feel like this is the most emotional a tv episode has made me since I finished Black Sails so like?)
so uhhh they’re really gonna hide all the valuable people in the crypts huh, they’re really following through on that
“women and children first” to DIE??? I M EAN
i’ve been thinking about this non stop since i first watched the ep and my growing dread is nigh unstoppable, if i had any doubts that the winterfell dead might rise, their whole repeated thing of “everyone will be safe down there” shot them straight down
i’m lowkey annoyed we missed out on what would have been an incredibly awkward introduction scene between jaime and literally everyone, but i’m glad his “trial” didn’t drag out
i want sam’s opinion on dany’s bloodthirst vis a vis avenging her father BC LIKE????
“i’d do it all again” honey be QUIET
L O Y A L T  Y
loyalty
l      o   yal     t e  a
lmao daenerys’ look of anger and disgust at brienne hopping to jaime’s defense alone makes me want her dead tbh
sansa being a better strategist, ruler, negotiator, and peacekeeper than both of her parents combined, is my weakness tbh
also He R  aRmOuR drESs !!!!! what a LOOK!
d: “what does the warden of the north say about it?” j: [has dissociated solidly through the past six hours, is only now just realising it’s daylight and he’s in the great hall] uhhhhhhhhhhhh cool i guess?
tyrion finally breathing after daenerys lets jaime live is ridiculously endearing, i love the brothers’ relationship so much
baeworm death-glaring jaime is also ridiculously endearing tbh
i dig the gendarya love theme, i do i do i do
everyone keeps saying that the fact they had sex means one of them will die next ep but honestly? out of all the non jonerys pairings (missandei/greyworm, sam/gilly, jaime/brienne) i think they’re most likely to live through the battle, and the fact they have their own theme makes me doubt as well that they’ll end next episode
that poor guy who got in the way of arya and gendry’s dragonglass throwing foreplay, so close yikes
i can’t believe that out of everyone who bran has been weird to, jaime was the one to take his weird shit best
“how do you know there is an afterwards?”           sd;kjlas
djkasljdak;lsd
                        asjd;lsakdla;sd
        bran
                               bran stop
please be fuckin w us bran
this brotherly love scene is great and it hurts me to think it might be their last solo scene
although the way they keep talking about how sure they are they’ll die....idk? and with bronn on the way with his crossbow? to have both, or either, die at winterfell with the battle seems a waste. plus, one of them needs to be the valonqar so?
i’d be satisfied seeing a dead tyrion rip cersei apart though, i’ll admit that
JAIME GAZING AT BRIENNE INSTEAD OF LISTENING TO HIS BROTHER
pod has come so far in his fighting i love him so much i love brienne’s proud mama expression hes. he’s 100% going to die. for sure.
“we have never had a conversation that’s lasted this long without you insulting me, not once” KJASDKLASJDKALSJDALKSD
“i came to winterfell because...” Y OU LOVE HER DUMBASS
i still ship jorah with dany more than jon, fight me
i love the confirmation that all the bad blood between them is under the bridge, i love that he convinced her to make peace with tyrion and sansa, i love that he’s made peace with tyrion taking up his position, made peace with his house, with his relationship with his father...........
he’s absolutely toast and i hate it.
he’s going to die for dany with one last “khaleesi” and it’s going to break my heart
“we have other things in common” yeah you both have jon in your immediate family trees lmao
i’m confused by the “someone taller” comment, who’s she talking about? everyone else hurt her or betrayed her at some point. is it barristan? is it baeworm? it should be baeworm
ok so. i don’t need or want sansa to end up with anyone.
that said
if it had to be a man
my heart almost jumped out of my chest when she and theon hugged, i didn’t expect her to get this emotional at all, shit i didn’t expect MYSELF to get this emotional
HER TEARS
THEY BOTH NEED HUGS IM GLAD THEY GET HUGS
soup dad can’t die i forbid it
let’s talk about gilly for a second, how far she’s come, from a scared abused girl to a strong, caring, confident woman and mother, i’m so emotional please protect her
DAVOS ADOPTING CHILDREN LEFT RIGHT AND CENTRE
THE SHIREEN THEME PLAYING OVER THAT BIT IM ASJDKASDJ
i’m super surprised edd and beric survived the hearth, i thought there would be more of a fight there
LITTLE CROW
i know people crack ship them, but like, they’d almost be better suited than jon and daenerys
while i adore the idea of theon making amends for taking winterfell from bran by defending winterfell and protecting bran from the night king, i know in my heart that all it’s going to result in is a very dead theon (and probably a dead bran)
why do i feel like while well intentioned, having dragons near the godswood is.....a mistake
i’d love for bran and tyrion to both survive, i’d love to see them talk more as equals because they’re so similar intellectually (i know they had scenes when bran was a kid, but that doesn’t count)
missandei and greyworm are too good and pure for this earth, i want them to leave, i want them to go to naath and never come back, i want them to find a little house by the water and eat fruits and find missandei’s family and take in some stray children, some street cats to lay lazily on the stones of their porch, maybe missandei teaches the children of their village every morning under the rising sun, maybe greyworm becomes a tradesman, makes shoes or ale or binds books for the locals, they grow old and content together and the children they took into their home, now grown adults with their own children, bury them side by side underneath carved stones, i want them more than almost anyone to have a happy ever after because if anyone deserves it it’s those two
but there are dreams that cannot be
and greyworm is almost certain to die next episode
maybe missandei too, but i’m not sure
until then, i will live in my fantasy.
i love my nights watch boys, i love that they talk about grenn and pyp, i miss those lads
sam being the playful, banter-full, confident guy he is, i love him so much i’m so happy for him he better fucking survive (and maybe become lord of horn hill who knows? he has a wife and a son so ?
honestly the idea of tywin knowing jaime and tyrion are defending winterfell is so wonderful
ha ha h ah ah  ah h a i love tyrion and jaime so much that i. i forget. temporarily. about tyrion’s first wife
brienne stopping pod from drinking and then tyrion just.......fuckin pouring a large one out for the lad
please, let him drink, it’ll be his last
davos is such an old man i love him
jaime looking between brienne and tormund with amusement is the best thing ever
davos’ concern over ten year old tormund hopping into bed with a giant is incredible. dad mode. always on dad mode.
hound’s not gonna die yet, not until cleganebowl, he’s safe next ep for sure. so he’s allowed to be a grumpy old git for a bit
beric is straight up gonna die tho
“might as well be at a bloody wedding” g o d i dont like that foreshadowing
beric is so cheery and amicable im gonna miss him
i’m so glad that they gave arya agency, and a sweet, un-sexploited, in-character sex scene, there’s so few really good sex scenes in this show and i’m glad she got one of them
(no matter how long i spent the first time around watching through my fingers and cringing, i KNOW she’s an adult and maisie is an adult but god she’s still such a kid in my eyes)
as soon as the gloves started coming off i screamed
he is a sweet sweet boy and i wouldn’t want my murdering badass fave to be with anyone else
i appreciate them showing her scars as part of it, i can’t quite put my finger on why but it was nice to see that
i feel like once i get over the weirdness of like, “hey that’s arya”, it’s probably one of the hotter sex scenes in the series? just for passion and use of consent and stuff
i can’t even begin to elaborate on how perfect brienne’s scene is
it’s immediately one of my favourite scenes in the whole show, i honestly don’t have the words
it’s better than any marriage vows that have been taken in the whole series, and to see brienne proud and happy is just...incredible.
the mormont scene i wanted!!!
this is such a touching scene between two of my faves, i want jorah and sam to be pals forever but i know its just....not happening
the fact that sam starts in the crypt but i know he ends up on the battlefield is....concerning to say the least
god. that song. that song is everything
im too in my feelings to care about jonerys, sorry
i can genuinely believe that jon loves her, and doesn’t care about the iron throne or any titles really for that matter. but the other way around? i’m not so sure.
ok so my survival list: dany, jon, sansa, tyrion
everyone else is at risk please pray for me
oh also i bought the download of Jenny and already cried to it three times this evening, so the credits are making it a round four

why do you ship jonsa? my best friend is a hard core jonerys shipper but lately ive been really critical of daenerys, so i cant really hop on that train. i dont really have a preference for jon either way so i wanted to know why you ship them
Oh hello! What a lovely question to ask, though I must warn you this could most likely get draggy and long because I’m so passionate about these two and this ship, they’re my OTP. Actually I only started reading the books last year, before then I was a casual watcher until up to Feb 2016 before season 7 aired. Jon and Sansa had just reunited on the show and I came across this Jonsa instagram on my explore page and I thought, what the fuck is this? It was such an absurd ship to consider - and this is coming from someone who was crack shipping Tommen and Sansa! But I kept scrolling through, the captions in the post came from posts on Tumblr(with credit) explaining the parallels and the ways in which Jonsa could go down and it was sort of like… this strange theory that I subscribed to and was soon convinced of. I tried bringing it up to my friend but she was a casual watcher and didn’t really pay much attention to it so I was craved of my need to discuss this. So come season 7, I rejoined Tumblr and the Jonsa tag was SO rich in content and meta, detailing all the parallels, how it could happen, why it makes sense and how it would wrap up up the narrative in the most satisfying manner. I’ve never shipped something so hard and wanted it to be canon more than with Jonsa(though canon or not I’m not fussy lol).
I’m gonna outline to you some of the main reasons why I think Jonsa has a strong chance of happening in canon, because they’re really why I ship them so hard, they complement each other perfectly though it’s very easy to miss this. I’m keeping this under a ‘Keep Reading’ tab because I know this will get lengthy. Also, any of my followers/people seeing this, do add on in the comments why you ship jonsa or perhaps leave some links to some of your fav meta’s in the comments for OP to screen through if they feel like it!
This will be lengthy but remember I am trying my best to be brief, hopefully the other Jonsa’s will link some metas/parallel series to give you a better idea - I’m only outlining the backbone of the ship!
The Ashford Tourney Pattern
So it actually began when I came across this theory: The Tourney at Ashford was held in-universe, and I wont go much into detail except to mention that all of the 5 champions in that tourney coincide with the houses of the men Sansa is betrothed/married to (i.e. Sansa’s suitors). It goes
Lyonel Baratheon
Leo Tyrell
Tybolt Lannister
Humfrey Hardyng, and,
Valarr Targaryen.
Now, granted the show’s made some changes but ultimately they’re coming to the same conclusion, and as for book!Sansa(i.e. canon) she’s first betrothed to Joffrey Baratheon, then is promised to Willas Tyrell(changed to Loras on the show), marries Tyrion Lannister, is currently in the works of being betrothed to Harry Hardyng(in the Vale - the Ramsay plot is not hers), and so the logical conclusion would be to complete the pattern by marrying her final suitor, the endgame - a Targaryen. That makes Jon the only candidate viable to her, and yes that sounds ‘out there’ but if you take a look at the narrative, it could make complete sense, so let’s go into how this could logically happen.
Logic
Given the story began with the Starks being the heart of the series, you can only anticipate that the final installation, initially named A Time For Wolves would promise a continuation of the Stark line, and that could come about through Jon and Sansa. They are the only Starks left who’s storyline touches on ideas of fatherhood and motherhood - the only Starks left to ever consider having future children(and weirdly enough where Sansa wants to name her children Bran and Rickon and thinks of a girl who looks like Arya in her dreams of children, Jon wants to name his son Robb - even their dreams complement each other, they’d be rebuilding the Stark family with themselves), the only Starks left to think of restoring Winterfell(and they already go on to do this on the show) etc. When you think of Sansa and how she’s had to fight hard to retain her Stark identity and reclaim it, I cannot imagine GRRM marrying her off to some random lord at the end of the series, when she’s just made it back home. For Jon too, he’s wanted Winterfell, and dreamed of that domestic life as Lord of Winterfell, as a Stark, and Sansa, the Key to the North, could give him that - the same way her marrying Jon who’s actually a prince would be fulfilling her childhood dream as well. They both get what they want in the way they least expect it, something very GRRM-esque. There’s the narrative convenience of R+L=J that would allow for some catharsis once Jon realises he’s not her half-brother, and the convenience of them being the only Starks to not have an established relationship beforehand. But despite that, whenever they do think of the other in the books, it’s never with any resentment, contrary to popular belief, they don’t hate each other(they think of each other fondly, even). It’s something that could work politically in show!verse just as well, say word gets out that Jon’s a Targaryen, the Northern lords would never accept him unless Sansa brokers a political marriage to tame them.
History would also be repeating itself in a poetic way, but done right this time. Jon and Sansa marrying would parallel Ned x Cat, they each parallel them so much and S7 has hammered those visual parallels more than ever. A Stark would be wedding a Tully. And if you embraced Jon as a Targaryen, then they would parallel Rhaegar and Lyanna in a sense too by having a Targaryen prince wed a Stark lady. It also nicely twists what happened to Cersei, where she was supposed to marry a Targaryen prince(Rhaegar) but ends up marrying a Baratheon(Robert) - Sansa was betrothed to Joffrey Baratheon, but would be marrying a Targaryen prince in Jon, which only adds another layer to her being the YMBQ from Cersei’s prophecy if you subscribe to that!
Complementary Storylines
If you take a closer look at Jon and Sansa’s arcs, they tend to echo off of each other, always linking the two through themes, yet the author does a great deal to ensure they’re the last two Starks we ever associate with each other which honestly, would be something he’d do if he meant to pull them marrying as a huge plot twist no one would expect. But thematically, both Jon and Sansa:
 start their arcs as naive,
are the Starks most interested in leaving WF - Jon goes to the Wall where he assumes the men are ideal knights, and Sansa journeys South with romanticised ideas of court, and both characters are quickly disappointed.
Jon gets dubbed “crow” for most of his arc, the same way Sansa gets dubbed “little bird/dove”.
Both characters at the same time, have to pretend to be something they’re not around their enemies - Jon going undercover as a Wildling, while Sansa had to blend in with the Lannisters.
They both get dubbed traitor around the same time too, Jon’s seen as a traitor for leaving the Wildlilngs while Sansa gets dubbed traitor/murderer once they thought she poisoned Joffrey as she leaves KL.
Jon who starts off as a bastard, rises to the title of Lord Commander at the Nights Watch the same time Sansa, who starts off as a Lady, gets forced to pose as Littlefinger’s bastard daughter.
It’s the same case on the show, and there’s reason enough to believe Jon and Sansa will be the first Starks to reunite in the books and reclaim Winterfell as well(though the circumstances may be different, it’s heavily foreshadowed in Sansa’s final ASOS chapter).
Complementary Dreams
GRRM has a weird way of connecting these two through their shared dreams. Where Sansa’s final chapter in ASOS heavily foreshadows that she’ll come to rebuild Winterfell with Jon(and she already goes onto do this on the show with Jon), Jon is also the only other Stark to think of reclaiming and rebuilding it, and this occurs in the same book. They’re both weirdly also the only Stark kids to be referred to as the Blood of Winterfell. ASOS(the 3rd book in the series) is also where both these characters start to undergo a sexual awakening(Ygritte’s attempts with Jon, and Sansa coming into her own body and developing).
It’s the same book where Jon considers having a son of his own, thinking he could name him after Robb, and Sansa thinks of giving her betrothed children, noting that in her dreams her children looked like the brothers she had lost and that she wants to name them Eddard and Brandon and Rickon(after the brothers she’s lost). So yes, while that sounds very odd, these two coming together would actually be giving each other what they long for in a family, children who look like named after their pack. Once you remember that book wise, Jon looks like a carbon copy of Ned and Sansa looks like a more beautiful version of Catelyn then you could only assume their children would look very much like the siblings they grew up with too.
It’s actually strange how alike they are and how their arcs tend to echo off of each other but it even comes down to the same romanticised idea of courtship. Sansa remembers the rose Loras gave to her during the Hand’s Tourney, and when met with the prospect of marrying Willas, starts fantasising of sitting with her lord husband in a garden. Lo and behold, a couple chapters later Jon thinks of showing Ygritte Winterfell, and plucking a flower for her from Winterfell’s glass garden. In other words… they would be perfect together.
Their first loves are stand-ins for each other
Ygritte could actually be seen as a foreshadowing for Sansa, namely because so many of her traits are things we’ve come to associate with the latter but GRRM makes a point to keep this out of Jon’s subconscious in his POV chapters. First in the choice of words in her description, her red hair, her blue-grey eyes(sansa’s eyes are blue), but people tend to stop right there and use it as an excuse to mock the idea of Jon x Sansa immediately which honestly, is lazy. It goes deeper than that. Ygritte weeps when she sings and hears the song of the last of giants, and she’s known to favour songs and tales - things we again associate with Sansa. There’s also the instance of her telling Jon Snow that she’s “half a fish” which seems to nod at the fact that Sansa’s basically half a fish too(Half Tully). Strangely, right after Ygritte words out her famous line “You know nothing, Jon Snow,” in Sansa’s chapter, Sansa sees Margaery’s cousins and comments that “they know nothing,” on their naivety. When Jon gets stabbed, the line is again associated with Sansa in his final thoughts:
“Of Sansa, brushing out Lady’s coat and singing to herself. You know nothing, Jon Snow. ”
In Sansa’s case, her first love(crush, really) was a man of the Night’s watch named Waymar Royce(“She had fallen wildly in love with Ser Waymar,”) - who is described as grey-eyed, graceful and slender the same way Jon is first described in AGOT as having grey eyes, being graceful and being slender. The connection between Waymar Royce and Jon Snow is further strengthened in the fact that Waymar(who appears in the very first prologue of the first book) death foreshadows Jon’s death.
Other parallels and easter eggs
There are other ways GRRM’s linked the two in his novels through easter eggs too, for e.g. Sansa calls out for the heroes she knows, calling for Prince Aemon the Dragonknight(from the songs), and then we get a flashback of Jon remembering how he’d play with Robb in the field and pretend to be Prince Aemon the Dragonknight. Sansa also wishes someone would behead Janos Slynt, and Jon goes onto do this in ADWD, unknowingly being the literal hero she asked for.
They both have a strong connection to the pomegranate symbolism, tying them both to the greek mythology of Persephone. And in terms of actual history, Jon and Sansa share heavy parallels with Henry Tudor and Elizabeth of York(who ended up joining their houses through marriage after the War of the Roses of which one of the main conflicts of GoT was based on).
There are plenty of other parallels throughout their chapters, one off instances of both characters put in the same environment or situation, more than I could count really. But what I personally find most odd is how some of their chapters completely mirror each other’s in terms of environment, theme and situation. Look to Jon and Sansa’s first and second ASOS chapters(that come right after the other’s) and you’ll find it’s almost like reading the same chapter twice. GRRM’s a man with words, it’s strange how similarly he words and crafts the environment he puts them in, unless he meant for their chapters to echo each other.
It’s not beyond GRRM
We know from his original outline that he intended for Jon and Arya to be the first Starks to reunite at the wall and struggle for non-platonic and very inappropriate feelings for each other which would torment them until Jon’s parentage is revealed in the final book - sounds not that far from what’s happened with Sansa tbh. Again, you have to remember that yes things have changed from the outline, Sansa was meant to choose Joffrey over her family, bore him children, then die, and none of that happened. Arya was also supposed to do a heck lot more in her storyline but what seems to happened is that GRRM knew he could never have Arya accomplish that much plot in so little time and so he might’ve split initial Arya into a fully fleshed version of Sansa, thus why Sansa and Arya are two sides of the same coin. It would also explain why while Arya looks like Lyanna, both sisters possess her traits and parallel her in their respective ways.
With Jonerys… listen… it’s just a doomed pairing. I was open to the idea but there are one too many kinks in it to have it be endgame not to mention Jonerys on the throne would completely go against the anti-war message ASOIAF has established. Not that doomed pairings have ever stopped me from shipping but they’re just so fundamentally different at this point that the idea of them just doesn’t work anymore(season 7′s rushed tryst was problematic and didn’t sell it to me either).
Additional Thoughts
I could drag on but these I think are some of the main points for me. There are a plethora of other reasons backing this up but yeah I think they have a solid chance. Points aside, I guess I also ship them because there is literally no man who’s a viable suitor for Sansa and her status, that could treat her how she deserves - show!Jon has proved himself worthy, and Sansa has fed him with the well deserved validation he’s needed and craved, acknowledgement of him being a Stark. They work so well together.
Jon is the only man in her arc who canonly has acknowledged that “Winterfell belongs to […] Sansa.” i.e. the only man who wouldn’t marry her for her claim. For a girl who came to the realisation that “No one will ever marry me for love.”(which was followed by Jon’s chapter right after btw), that’s a huge deal. A JonSa endgame would be done so out of political reasons but love would no doubt follow. He is the only man to respect her boundaries and treat her as a human being, to see her for more than just her beauty. You can comment a suitor in her arc she was involved with and I will be able to point out how it’s problematic and wouldn’t work for endgame, how Sansa deserves better. JonSa is my OTP because they genuinely and effortlessly are perfect for each other :)
Trust me I could point out more and more, but hopefully people who see this post link some of their metas/own reasons in the comments in case you want to learn more! Thanks for the ask, this was lovely x
