well. you see. it saved my life.

i was in a really dark place before watching hamilton and joining the fandom. i don't think i would've made it to this day without the fandom tbh.

this is also like my home. you guys are like my family. if i'd have to list the most important things in my life, y'all would be at the top.

Welcome to Whump: the Musical!!

What tf is that, I hear you ask? I'll be glad to tell you, since I've been working on this behind the scenes of my other projects for quite some time!

Whump: the Musical is a 31 day whump event where the prompts are all based on themes and lyrics from a variety of different musicals! Spanning from Wicked to Cats to Hamilton, there's something for everyone!

Although this event is brought to you by a self-proclaimed theater nerd, this event is open to all fandoms. You do not have to have a lick of prior musical theatre knowledge to participate. The theater community is welcoming and embracing, and we would love for you to use our niches as inspiration to whump your blorbos! This is also an all media inclusive event! If you would like to write a fic, provide lovely art, or make an edit, God knows, anything goes.

This event will span from March 1st to March 31st because as far as I could find, there wasn't a whump event happening then!! Plus, it's just in time for all of y'all's spring musicals!! The prompt list will be released much earlier (like in the next few days lol) because I know I personally take forever to prep, and I want everyone to have more than enough time to plan out whatever they want to do.

More information will be coming soon along with tags, rules, and an ao3 collection! Follow to keep up with the updates! I am very excited, and I hope all of you are, too!

Jesus' fingers danced soothingly across his back this time, smoothing over his shoulders, threatening to lull Judas into something that felt unreturnable. Judas didn't respond. He only swallowed thickly.

"I meant what I said," Jesus told him gently, as he moved up to card his fingers through his dark mess of hair. "All of it is alright. All of it."

Whumptober Day 2: Delirium, “They don’t care about you”

This fic is based on and inspired by @jittyjames ‘s “the price of his war”. Her stuff is AMAZING please go read it ALL. (we also have a collab up on AO3 hehe)

“I hate you,” Alexander murmured drunkenly. When no response came, he finally looked up to make eye contact with the person across from him. He was met with his own cold eyes staring back at him, shining with the alcohol and tears that wouldn’t fall yet. His face was flushed embarrassingly.

“I hate you,” he said again a bit louder. “I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!”

In a blink the mirror was scattered in large shards in front of Alexander. A sob escaped from his throat as he ripped his hand back and cradled it against his chest, now slowly dripping with blood.

“Fuck!” He shouted in his grief, though to no one in particular as the house was empty to the point of an echo.

“Fuck!”

The sobs were ripped from Alexander’s throat, rough and painful. They were a hurricane of their own. Once they started there was no stopping them.

Alexander backed himself against the opposite wall and slowly sank down with his knees to his chest.

“Such harsh words, my dear.”

Alexander gasped in fright as his eyes shot open. He frantically looked around the room for the source of the voice. A terrified cry escaped from him as he was met with the image of the king standing before him.

“I would have wished you would have a warmer welcome for me.”

That horrible, tormenting voice he had tried so hard to escape.

“Don’t come any closer!” Alexander shrieked. “Stay the fuck away from me!”. He hated how his voice wavered as if it had never settled.

The king did not obey him, instead moving to kneel in front of him and touch his face.

God, even the touch felt so real.

“Oh, dearest, how far you’ve strayed from my lessons. Don’t worry, we’ll remedy that soon enough.”

Throwing his head to the side to escape the touch, Alexander shouted, “You can’t come near me anymore. Or-“

“Or what?” the king laughed condescendingly. “Or Washington will have my head? Or John Laurens will seek me out? Oh, my love, you really think they care that much, don’t you?”

Hamilton’s breath was caught in his throat as he tried to not absolutely lose it. Nothing felt real. He was questioning everything around him now that this apparition was back. He knew this wasn’t the real king, but-

“No one cares as much as I do.”

-But his words were just as the real king would be saying.

He couldn’t ever escape.

A knock distantly sounded at the front door and with one blink the king was gone. For now. Somehow on shaky legs Alexander made it to the door and peeked out into the night.

“Jesus Christ,” Burr exclaimed, “Hamilton, what’s happened?”

“Burr,” Hamilton half heartedly greeted.

Burr narrowed his eyes and gently shoved into the entryway.

“Come on in,” Alexander muttered, closing the door behind Aaron.

“No one’s heard from you in days, Alexander. What’s happened?” he repeated.

You think they care about you?

“Nothing. Did you come here to interrogate me?”

Burr sighed and held up his hands in a surrendering motion.

“Woah, listen, we’re just worried. John’s been worried sick the past few days-“

“Then why doesn’t John come see me himself?”

Burr sighed again and surveyed Hamilton up and down. Alexander hated it. He was tired of men leering at him.

No one as much as I, my dear.

Hamilton squeezed his eyes closed against the voice.

“Alexander, have you been drinking?” Burr’s voice came suddenly further away. Hamilton followed him to the kitchen and the bottles on the table entered his line of sight.

“So what if I have been?”

“Alex-“

“Since when is it a crime for a full grown ass man to take the edge off!”

Burr massaged his temples as he took calming breaths.

“Hamilton, listen-“

“No! You listen! I’m tired of you all coming into my home and telling me how to cope! It’s my life!”

Alexander punctuated his sentence with a weak blow to Burr’s chest. Aaron caught his fist and inspected it closely.

“Alexander, you’re bleeding!”

Oh, right. The mirror. He had completely forgotten. Burr had grabbed a cloth from the counter and was dabbing away the blood that was still sluggishly pouring.

“You can’t keep doing this to yourself, Alexander.”

You can’t keep doing this to us, Alexander.

omg. okay. firstly in more historical fics, i loooove the aides interactions. like their dynamic is just so special to me.

and something else i’ve noticed a bit is that in lams fics, john uses petnames a lot more than alexander does. i don’t know why, i’ve just noticed it. but i love it so much. i kinda like to picture that alexander just has so many words, but when it comes to having a petname for john he just can’t think of anything to describe him. i don’t know, that’s just what i think. also the ‘my dear boy’ nickname???? obsessed. actually my favourite thing in the whole world.

my favourite trope is found family. i looooove reading and writing found family and washingdad and the hamilsquad and just agdkqhdkajds. especially if there’s been some angst and hurt/comfort shoved in there that led to the found family?? i love it so so much

okay i have a few.

this is biased given its personal AND super recent, but “i haven’t slept in a week”. i was scared to post that but im actually really proud of that writing lmao, despite how terrified i was to post it

then there’s “for all the love i’ve found in you, i’ll be forever grateful baby”. i hated it at the time but i’ve grown to be really proud of it, and that poem i wrote. also because i wrote that for akeyla and it’s actually really sweet

and also “baby it’s cold outside”. that fic is my child like i’m so proud of that fic

and then also “like crying out in empty rooms, with no one there except the moon”, “like mother, like daughter” (agggtm), “but this situation’s helpless” (this was my favourite fic id ever written for soooo long), “fools who run their mouths off wind up dead”, and “steal into my affections”

16- a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate

omg okay so musical canon, i think people should focus on some of the ways that burr especially says some lines. like the sound of his voice, the way his delivers his lines. like i made that soit the other day about how he says “i get a drink” in the world was wide enough. i feel like we really need to appreciate more the way he delivers his lines. i don’t know how to describe it, but he just sounded like. flat. you can tell by his voice he was just like. “holy shit. i have just killed hamilton.” and he regretted it. i don’t know how to explain it. but we really need to appreciate this more

in historical canon, i feel like we need to focus more on the schuylkill incident. i swear that’s the funniest story ever. and also the aides friendships and family dynamic?? and also lafayette and washington’s friendship and kinda like. father-son relationship. it’s just. as much as i absolutely adooooore washington and alexander’s relationship, in historical canon he was definitely closer with lafayette than alexander.

24- how has fandom positively impacted your life?

okay. how do i even begin with this.

fandom has been a huuuge part of my life since i was 6, with harry potter. i remember when i was in year 5 (10-11 years old-ish), we had to write a creative story, and i fully wrote a marauders era fanfiction. because that’s how i got into creativity, it was through fanfiction. i remember my year 5 teacher giving me a whole lecture about how i can’t write something that already exists, and i was really upset about it, and i spent ages refusing to write fanfiction, and only write original works, and i just couldn’t get anything written. fandom and fanfiction is a huge part of my life, and it’s a huge outlet of stress for me.

i would use fanfiction to make sense of my feelings for years, even when i was younger, and i’d get a bit of disconnect from strong emotions by giving them to characters, and i’d feel just that little bit better. and also reading fanfictions, where a character is feeling and going through similar things always make me feels a little bit less alone, i could read or watch the canon material and see my comfort character, and i’d remember that in a certain fanfiction where the character may have been going through something similar to me, and i’d be like, “well if this character, who is so strong, can get through it, i can get through this. i can do it.” and it would give me that comfort. seeing my comfort characters feeling the same way always makes me feel a bit better about everything
