Re: Danny makes whale sounds and Aquaman can understand them
So the JL needs something from the Ghost King for something and they find a way to get Danny there (summing or asking Constantine or something). When he gets there the JL are trying to convince him to help but they can’t understand what he’s saying. He’s not using English to communicate but they thought he would be able to (maybe it’s a trust thing or maybe there’s something wrong and he can only speak with his core). He recognizes Aquaman from when he has visited the whales and gets really excited and so he starts talking to him using whale-song and the rest of the JL is like “wtf?” And Arthur is just responding without a second thought and translating for Danny.
JL is very confused as to why the Ghost King is a teenager who speaks whale but ohwhale what can you do.
OG post. Follow Up Post
thanks for the pun that felt like someone slapped me in the face with a dead tuna. That was glorious.
It's such a beautiful and soft sound. It's eerie in a way but it's gentle and sweet.
One day that soft whale song turns into a bellow. one that sounds like a thousand whales crying out in agony and pain.
the Ghost King isn't remotely nearby, but everyone heard it. They didn't understand the language but they knew exactly what it entailed.
Someone hurt the sweet soul who spoke in whale song. Someone hurt them very very badly. That person must pay.

Holy shit!! I’ve never made a tag list before?? Thank you guys sm for being so into it!! And without further ado;
Steve woke up with the initial thought of “what the fuck”. So he could automatically assume his day was going to go great.
Out of his room, down the hall, down the stairs, through the living room and into the kitchen is where he finds Jonathan and— oddly enough— Robin.
Steve was used to finding Jonathan with him after one of his “episodes”. Usually he or Nancy will help him through it the best they can, laying with him or sitting with him wherever he is.
The idea of Robin in his house doesn’t even occur to Steve as weird until Robin says, “Sorry for the intrusion, uh… you really freaking worried me, man.”
Steve blinked— then, without taking his eyes off of Robin, asked Jonathan “Where did I have my episode at last night?”
Jonathan had the decency to look sheepish about it. “Uh— pfsshh, you had it at work, Steve.”
“And how bad was it?” He looked at Jonathan.
“You collapsed and had to be carried to the break room to rest. And the fact that you don’t seem to remember much of anything is also saying a lot.”
Steve stood there, thinking long and hard about yesterdays events.
“I remember Billy coming in and saying something about Max. Then he said something about Dustin that pissed me off. I don’t know. After that… who the hell?..”
Munson.
Holy shit.
Jonathan must’ve clocked the moment of realization cause he walked over and patted him on the shoulder. “Yeah, man.”
Steve groaned and hurried his face in his hands. “That’s so embarrassing!” Was his muffled complaint. Robin— the asshole— had the nerve to snort at him.
“Hush, Buckley! Ugh I hate this.”
Jonathan was rubbing his back now, barely hiding his own snickers and laughs. “Come on—“
“I have to go,” Steve said quickly and went to turn around to leave.
“Where are you going? This is your house!” Robin retorted.
“I have to go apologize!”
Jonathan snagged Steve’s wrist and prevented him from going any further. “Go sit down, Steve. You can apologize later.”
Steve begrudgingly obliged, sitting at the small kitchen table that was usually used for his dads drinking. He crossed his arms and put his head down. He’d fucked up his vision again when he spun around too fast to leave. Jonathan sighed and came up to rub his back again. Physical touch helped Steve a lot during times like these. Especially during the vertigo.
Robin took the seat next to him. “So, two concussions? If you were having such a bad time why didn’t you just call in?”
“Cause I’m constantly late to work and the only reason I haven’t been fired and kicked on my ass is because you keep covering for me so I figured I had to return the favor,” he replied in one breath.
They were silent for a couple of minutes, just basking the each others presence. Until Jonathan stopped rubbing Steve’s back, let his hand rest there, and then patted between his shoulder blades twice before going over to the pantry.
“You need to eat something before you do anything. Robin can you get him a cup of water, please?”
Robin nodded and stood to get it. Steve groaned. “I can get my own water, Jon.” but he’d made no attempts to move from his seat. Jonathan muttered something about toast.
“Considering the fact that yesterday you just about passed out on your feet and how a few minutes ago you nearly fell over just by turning too fast, I’d like to differ.”
Steve huffed, knowing he was right. He heard the toaster start and glass was set down gently in front of him. He lifted his head and eyed the water.
“I didn’t poison the damn thing, dingus.” Robin tapped her fingers on the table.
Steve snorted and finally took the glass. He was done with it in seconds.
“Christ,” Robin muttered while refilling it for him.
When Steve was just about done eating his toast and downing another cup of water his house phone went off.
“I’ve got it.” Jonathan stood.
Steve shrugged and stood himself— slowly this time— to put his dishes away. Robin remained seated and watched him.
Jonathan huffed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Steve furrowed his eyebrows and walked over, trying to hear the conversation.
“Yeah— no I’ve got it, don’t worry. I love you to. Bye.” Jonathan hung up and sighed heavily.
“You alright?” Steve leaned on the wall next to him.
“Yep. Great. That was my mom, by the way. And apparently the kids are all on the loose in Forest Hills, looking for Eddie.”
What the fuck?
“What the fuck?”
“Yeah.”
“So…” Robin stood. “I’m going with Steve?”
Max was curious. They all were. Just who the hell was Eddie Munson? Steve had never mentioned him before, but from the looks of it both Jonathan and Steve knew him.
Will had wanted to ask Nancy about him, saying how Jonathan said they all went to school together, but Mike refused to ask Nancy about any of this other than asking about migraines.
So they were on their own.
Max took her skateboard and the boys took their bikes (Will riding with Mike) and the four of them made their way to the trailer park.
Max was running on borrowed time, telling Billy that she was going over to the Byers’. And if that’s not where she is in the next 2-3 hours when he comes to pick her up then she’s done for.
But it’s fine. They figure out where Eddie Munson lives in no time. It’s not a very big trailer park, and “Eddie Munson” seems to be a pretty recognizable name. A nice old lady named Miss. Bottomette pointed them right down the street from her own trailer.
The four of them made their way over, dumping their bikes (and skateboard) in the yard— not bothering with kickstands. Max and Mike shoved their way in front of the other two, both going to knock at the same time.
Mike gently shoved Max to the side when the door opened, now all three of them being behind him. Standing at the door wasn’t Eddie Munson, unless he’d aged 50 years in past 24 hours. The new man was a lot older, and was just a bit taller than Mike. He looked the four of them up and down before leaning on the doorway and crossing his arms.
“What can I help you kids with?”
Will gulped. He didn’t like adults and especially not ones with heavy western accents that look like they’d kill him if he so much as breathed wrong.
“Um— we’re just looking for an uh, an Eddie Munson, sir,” Max tagged on from behind Mike. Will reached over subtly and grabbed someone’s hand, he thinks it’s was Lucas’. Why the hell was this guy so scary?
The man had a gleam in his— something like amusement. It kind of pissed Mike off but he knew better than to get pissy with an adult he’d just met. Especially with how Will was reacting to him.
“Well,” the man chuckled, “I’m not sure what you kids need with ‘im, but he’s not here right now. So why don’t you go back home, huh?”
He went to close the door but Mike spoke up. “Wait! Please— we uh— we really, really need to talk to him. Even if it’s just for a couple of seconds!”
“If he’s not here do you know where he is?” asked Lucas.
The man studied them all closely, his eyes raking over them each individually. As if they were threats. Mike nearly scoffed to himself.
Finally the man gave in and sighed. “Why do you wanna see Ed so bad?”
Max tapped her foot really hard on the wooden porch. When everyone jumped and looked at her she put her hands up. “Sorry! Got excited.”
Lucas spoke up this time. “We, um— wanna thank him? And ask him a few questions I guess. He helped out one of our friends yesterday and we really really just want to talk to him, please. Sir.” he tagged on the “sir” like an after thought.
In the next few moments, they found themselves piling into the very small, very cramped trailer living room.
“I’m Wayne, by the way. Wayne Munson, Eddie’s uncle.” he finally introduced himself. He raised his eyebrow at them. Oh yeah, they have to introduce themselves as well.
“Oh! Um— I’m Lucas. Lucas Sinclair.”
“Er— Max Mayfield.” she crossed her arms.
“Mike Wheeler.”
“Um, uh—“ Will grabbed Mikes hand “—Will Byers.”
Mr. Munson’s eyes seemed to study Will extra hard. Mike gripped his hand and squeezed to let him know he was there. Even Max and Lucas moved in slightly closer to Will. They didn’t understand why this guy seemed to come off so mean.
“Hey Uncle Wayne! What’s taking you so long at the door, man?” The man of the hour showed his face at the end of a small hallway. His brain seemed to short circuit at the sight of all the kids in his very small and very cramped living room.
“Um, hi?” Lucas greeted awkwardly.
Eddie leisurely made his way into the room with him. “Aren’t you Harrington’s kids from last night?”
“We’re not his kids,” Mike grumbled under his breath. But he couldn’t deny the spike of joy that came with the title.
Mr. Munson looked at Eddie like he’d lost his mind. “Harrington’s kids?” he put extra emphasis on “Harrington”, as if it was actually so weird.
Max rolled her eyes.
“Yes, Harrington’s kids,” she said under her breath with heavy sarcasm.
Lucas shot her a glare and she grunted.
“Well—“ Eddie clapped his hands “—what can I help you kids with?”
Mike and Max eyed each other, trying to decide who was going to start. Turns out; it was Will.
“We wanted to talk to you about yesterday,” he spoke up timidly. Mike squeezed his hand.
“Ok,” Eddie accepted. “Hit me. What’s up?”
Lucas was the first this time. “Why were you so willing to help Steve?”
When Wayne went to get the door Eddie didn’t think it’d take 20 minutes. And he also didn’t think that going out to check on him would lead him to finding four little kids in his living room. More specifically Steve Harrington’s kids.
He should’ve known it was to be bombarded with questions.
“Why were you so willing to help Steve?”
Well shit.
“Cause I’ve had an undying crush on him since he first came to the high school in his freshman year and I wasn’t going to turn up a chance to help him out and maybe talk to him and then I realized it was actually a lot worse than I thought so I stuck around to make sure he was ok.”
Yeah absolutely not.
“Because he needed help. The guy couldn’t even stand on his own.”
Lucas eyed him but handed it over to Max.
“Why were you so chill about his migraine? I mean you said it yourself: he could barely stand on his own. Most people would’ve left the moment someone else got there if not before.”
Little Red held a strong point.
“Cause I knew he needed help. Simple as that.”
No. Not “simple as that”.
“Did you know him in high school? Back when he was dating Nancy?” Little Wheeler asked.
Now this; this was a conversation he really didn’t want to have. He sighed, maybe a little harsher than intended, and answered “Yes. I knew him in high school and when he was dating your sister.”
At this point Wayne had left to the kitchen. But Eddie knew he was listening in, making sure they didn’t cross any lines.
“So if you knew him in high school, when he was an asshole— don’t kick me he was!— then why were you so nice? Cause most people he talks to from high school seem to hate his guts.”
“Jonathan doesn’t hate his guts!”
“I said “most people”, Will!”
Well golly damn they hold a lot of good points today. Before he got to answering the question there was another knock on the door. Max flinched and moved closer to Lucas.
“I got it,” Wayne said as he made his way over.
When he opened the door Steve Harrington, Robin Buckley, and Jonathan Byers were all there on the porch. Wayne looked back and forth between the two groups before sighing and saying, “Why don’t we all step outside? Trailer ain’t big enough for all of ya.”
So that’s where they all went, outside on the front yard. Wayne sat on the porch steps while Eddie hung back.
“What the hell was the point in this?” Asked Steve, scolding the kids.
“We just wanted to ask him some questions!” defended Lucas. Will hung back by Jonathan but nodded his head.
“Questions.” Steve deadpanned.
Max huffed and Steve’s glare turned on her. She crossed her arms and looked away, seeming to close in on herself.
Steve sighed and pinched his nose, turning around and grunting before turning back around. “Ok, here’s the game plan.” he clapped his hands. “You four—“ he pointed at each of the kids “— are going to apologize to Mr. Munson and Eddie.”
The kids all started to grumble and protest.
“AND THEN—“ he continued loudly over them, making them shut up “—you are going to all go home to your own houses. We will talk about this tomorrow when I don’t want to fucking strangle you.”
“I can’t.” Max huffed.
“Cant what?” Steve asked.
“Go home. Especially not with you. I told Billy I’d be at the Byers’ and he’s expecting me to be there in the next half hour.”
Steve’s entire face dropped and he rubbed a hand over his face. “Max.”
She folded her arms and looked down. Steve sighed and placed his hands on his hips. “Ok, it’s fine. Change of plans; we’re all going to the Byers’! You four go apologize now and then load your bikes and board into my car as best you can.”
Eddie stood through their half-assed apologies while Steve stood back conversing with Jonathan. When the kids made their move to get their bikes and skateboard Eddie moved over to stand next to Steve. While the kids loitered around for a moment. Steve turned on him when he noticed his approach.
“What were they bothering you about that was so important Max lied to Billy?”
Eddie smirked and answered “oh you know; questions.”
Steve groaned.
They stood in silence while Steve watched Jonathan quietly scold Mike and Max for something.
“You can use my van.”
“What?”
“My van. To bring their bikes? There’s no way in hell they’re all fitting into your’s or Byers’s car.”
Steve watched as Mike and Lucas argued about the bikes while Max and Will talked behind them. He sighed and scrubbed a hand down his face in agitation. Steve placed his hands on his hips again and hit the inside of his cheek. Eddie watched him closely, finally noticing the ruffled hair and the plain gray t-shirt and way to short basketball shorts.
“Did you come over here straight from bed?” he asked.
Steve looked at him, squinting in the sun. “Yeah? What of it?”
“Dude it’s like 2pm.”
“Migraines knock me out.” he shrugged.
Another moment of silence went by until Steve sighed. “If you really don’t mind, letting us use your van would be great.”
Eddie watched Mike’s bike fall out for the fourth time and nodded. Just in time for Mike and Max to both call out in a whiny tone “STEEEEVEEEE!!”
Steve huffed and whined back “WHAAAAAT?” Eddie snickered.
“The bikes aren’t going to fit!” Lucas yelled, throwing his bike on the yard.
“Yeah I realized that. Thankfully, Eddie’s very nice and has offered to let us use his van.”
Mike and Lucas’ eyes lit up. “Can we—“
“Absolutely not.” Steve shut them down. “You four are going to ride with Jonathan and Robin back to the Byers’ while I run around with Eddie to drop off your bikes.”
Eddie nodded, not knowing what else to do.
Mike huffed.
“Steve,” Max called out quietly. “You’re not dropping mine off, right?”
Steve’s face softened and he smiled at her exasperatedly. “No, Max, you can toss your board in Jon’s trunk.”
She nodded and looked hesitant to walk away. The boys had already gotten in the car, and with one look around Max gave in and quickly hugged Steve. He patted her back and ruffled her hair and then she ran off to the car.
With final goodbyes and a promise to Robin to just call in sick next time, Steve and Eddie were left alone, Wayne going inside to take a nap.
Steve clapped Eddie on the shoulder. “Looks like it’s just me and you now, Munson.”
Oh boy.
Guess I am gonna need that part three 😭😭
I’ll take tags for part 3 if you guys want :)

Iris picked up the phone from her pocket soon after she heard the cheerful ringtone. She only needed to look at it for less than a second to know that it was Barry and pressed the green button to answer. To make sure it stayed up while she typed away on her laptop, Iris placed the phone between her head and shoulders.”Hey, Barry.” She greeted.”You coming back soon?” She asked. Allen was out a bit later than usual tonight, which isn’t common enough for her to worry too much -- especially since he’s also a young adult like herself --, but definitely not often enough for her to not worry at all. His breathing was labored and pretty tired.”Hey, Iris, you mind making a bit of room on the living room couch?” He asked.
That was a bit odd.”Uh, sure, just let me finish up my writing. Why? Does a friend need to come over or something?” She asked. She heard another voice yawning, which was even weirder.”Uh, not exactly. We kinda have an emergency guest.” He replied.
Barry carried the exhausted boy on his back as he walked down the rather empty sidewalk. He wasn’t all that heavy, Barry was just pretty tired himself. The boy’s head rested on his shoulders, making his dark hair brush against the side of Barry’s head a bit every time he took a step, and despite his best attempts to stay awake, he was quickly falling asleep.
His grip was slipping and growing weak, but every few seconds or so, he’d suddenly regain his grip a little or try to mumble another “thank you” or “just one” to the older man, the second indicating he only intended to accept his offer for only one night. Barry lowered his phone a little and slightly turned to glance at the kid’s head.”No problem, kid. Just get some rest now.” He said. He heard a grumble, but couldn’t understand what Danny said. Judging by the tone, though, it was probably a pouty “No!” meant to be a joke.”Barry? Who is that? Is someone with you?” Iris asked through the phone. Barry brought it back up and put his focus back on the path ahead of him and in his mind.”A kid named Danny, he was looking for a place to sleep in the alleys. He’s not in too much trouble, just really tired from what he’s told me.” He replied. Probably not the best way to explain it, but it could be worse.
Iris was now closing her laptop and heading towards the living room couch.“Why won’t he go to a shelter?” She asked. The couch wasn’t dirty or littered, but a quick brush wouldn’t hurt, and neither would a blanket. She already knew what he was going to ask if the answer to her question was no.“Too far, apparently. Is it okay with you and Joe if he stays the night, and I try to help him out in the morning?”
That was something I had no issue with, but Joe might. She also knew he would welcome it if he had no choice, though. He did the same with Barry, after all.”Sure, let me ask dad.“ She said, wiping a few stray crumbs off the couch. She put her phone on the small nightstand next to the couch and rushed upstairs. Iris went to her dad’s door, which was the second door down the hall on the right, and knocked. She didn’t even have to wait ten seconds for it to open and her father, who had been allowed (ordered) to go home early, to open the door.
“Iris? You need something?” Joe asked. Iris cut straight to the chase.
“Long story short, Barry found a kid looking for a place to stay and the shelters are full. He wants to know if he can stay here for the night.” She somewhat explained. Joe reared his head back a little bit in surprise and blinked. He was obviously as taken aback as she expected, telling her dad that her brother was bringing back a homeless kid to sleep on their couch.
“This is all of a sudden,” he started with a small step back, ”but if there’s not a lot of other options, then sure.” He shrugged. A small smile formed on his face, as if asking “how could I say no?”. Iris sighed in relief and soon found her own smile. Joe walked past her.”Thank you so much, dad.” She said. Joe glanced back at her, still smiling a bit.”Helping kids is part of my job, as an officer and a father.” He stated as they both descended downstairs.
Iris picked up her phone, hoping Allan was still on the line, and held it to her ear as Joe opened a closet to grab a spare blanket.”He said yes.” She said. She put him on speaker, just in case Joe wanted to talk as well.
“Thank goodness.” Barry breathed out.”I’m really sorry to spring this on you guys.” He apologized. He rounded the corner, ignoring the double glances people took before they kept walking. They were most likely assuming that he had somehow gained a little brother or son.
“It’s alright, Barry. Do you know if he’s had anything to eat or drink?” Joe’s voice asked on the other side of the line. That caught him off guard, but only for a millisecond, maybe even faster since his brain barely registered it.“Yeah, he told me he’s not hungry.” He glanced over at Danny’s head on his shoulder, noticing his eyes are closed and his breathing was slower.”I think he’s asleep.” He said. The lack of grumbling or some quiet form of arguing proved his theory.
“How far away are you? Do you need me to pick you up?” Joe asked. Barry, out of instinct, quickly surveyed his surroundings. Though he already knew where he was, which was kind of stupid or weird.“No. We’re about two minutes away, walking distance.” He replied.
“Alright. We’ll get the couch ready.” Joe said. Barry heard the phone beeping from his adopted dad hanging up and promptly put it in his pocket so he could use that hand to make sure Danny was being carried properly.
When Barry arrived back, Iris had opened the door for him since she saw him coming up and quickly guessed he’d struggle a bit to get his keys without dropping the kid. Once he managed to get through the door, Joe came over and carefully helped him get Danny off of his back and onto the couch, both trying to make it so they didn’t wake him up. He stirred a bit from the movement, but his eyes barely cracked open before he fell right back asleep. Danny simply laid there, and Iris quickly tucked his unconscious body under a blanket as the other two began a quiet conversation.
“Anything about his family? Friends?” Joe asked in a hushed tone. Barry shook his head.”No, he just said he’s not sure where he is or how he got there, and he can’t remember his address or any phone numbers either.” He whispered back. The two turned their heads when they noticed the light being turned off and saw Iris next to the light switch. She used the light on her phone to light up the floor and walk up to them.”We should let him sleep.” She piped in quietly.
“Yeah. I say we ask him about his situation in the morning, when we’re all well rested.” Barry agreed.
“Sounds like a plan.” Joe nodded. And with that, they went upstairs, but not before Barry gave their guest a confused glance. Something was just odd about him. He brushed it off as the sudden turn in events that had happened in the last hour confusing him and carried on upstairs.
In the morning, Danny was gone.
The blanket that had been draped over him the night before was stacked neatly and placed on the opposite end of the couch as the pillow, which was also slightly fixed so it’d appear nice for decoration.
The windows and doors were still locked from when Joe remembered to take care of that before bed, and the alarm hadn’t gone off at all throughout the night. Nothing was taken, everything was tidied up.
Except for a single sticky note placed on the wall.
Thank you so much for letting me stay the night. Hopefully, we don’t meet again under those same circumstances. — Danny
BTW, I did a load of dishes, woke up feeling productive and wanted another way of saying thanks :D

I was hoping to finish by Friday but had writers block but I decided to share another small part. @jaytriesstuff
Damian had two encounters with the ghost boy yesterday. The stupid boy was plaguing his thoughts. Damian was on his way to the animal shelter he volunteered at. He almost didn't notice the little mews from the alley. He peered down the alleyway. He saw a noirette boy holding a sphynx kitten.
Damian walked down the alley. He couldn't ignore the poor cat. He hoped the stranger was willing to give it to him without a problem.
"Hey, what are you doing with that cat?"
Danny looked up. It was the rich kid from yesterday. He was in casual clothes and walking full speed towards Danny.
Danny smiled, "I heard this little guy and wanted to help. Is there a shelter nearby?"
"Yes. I'm heading there now if you want I can take the cat."
"Nah I got it you can just lead the way."
"Fine if you insist."
"The name is Danny by the way."
"Well Danny, my name is Damian."
Damian waited for Danny to walk over to him before leading the way. Two cute strangers in two days. Whatever he did to deserve this he apologizes. This was just cruel now because of the all cute normal looking guys this one low-key looked like one of his father's adoptees. The silence was weird but luckily it didn't take long to arrive at the shelter.
"I can take her. They aren't your responsibility."
"Nah I wanna make sure this little one gets the attention they need."
Damian gave him a small smile. He can admire that.
"If you fill out a volunteer form you come to the back with me," Damian handed him the form and pen, "here that way you can help."
Danny smirked, "Do you invite every cute guy with a cat to the back to help?"
"No, because I haven't found a cute guy with a cat yet."
"I have doubts but who am I to question a cute guy."
"I'm not cute and I retract my offer. I find you annoying now."
"Too late," Danny filled out the paper as the cat sat on the ledge, "there now let's get the kitty some food."
Damian scowled and grabbed the paper. He muttered under his breath as he led Danny to the back where the cages are. He grabbed another paper.
"Fill out this as best you can. It basically describes the cat and why you're here. I do need to take her to the back for a regular check-up before we feed her."
Danny gave Damian the sphynx kitten before filling out the papers. Damian brought the kitten back to the other parts of the shelter. He looked for Selina before spotting her in the supply closet.
"Selina, I have another stray cat for you."
She stepped out of the closet noticing the cat in Damian's arms, "you and both know your father or Alfred doesn't want us bringing more cats in."
"Not to adopt but he needs a check-up."
"I can sure do that. Is that cute kid your with the one who found," she checks the cat's gender, "who found her."
"He's not cute but yes. She was in the alley by Grand street. How did you know I came here with someone?"
Selina gestured to the security room, "Poor thing. Let's have a look then."
"Thanks, Selina."
Damian brought the cat to Selina's examination room before going back to Danny.
"Where's my cat?" Danny looked around frantically.
"She's fine. She's getting a check-up by the best vet," Damian smirked, "So she is your cat now."
"I mean I would like her to be."
"Aren't you only visiting Gotham? How do you plan on keeping and bringing her home?"
"Good point but I'll think of something."
"Well while you're formulating a plan you can help me take care of these guys."
Damian shows Danny the routine. They worked pretty well with one another. There were a couple of other volunteers but none of them usually talked to Damian. It was weird seeing him sorta smiley.
They were putting the last of the dogs away when Selina came out holding the cat. Danny instantly rushed over.
"You must be the one who found her. What's your name?"
"Danny Fenton ma'am. "
"Well, Danny it's a good thing you brought her in when you did any longer if the cold didn't get her starvation would have."
"Will she be okay?"
"Yes, she just needs proper food and warmth. Damian. Why don't you two take the kitten—"
"Cleo."
Damian looked at him confused, "what?"
"Her name is Cleo, like Cleopatra except she is a cat. So it's Cleo-paw-tra."
Selina stifled a laugh and Damian groaned. This kid is a dork.
"Okay, then why don't you two take Cleo to what we call the pamper station. She's gonna need a warm bath, food, and love."
"Yes ma'am," Danny grabbed the cat then Damian's hand, "lead the way short stuff."
Damian scowled but his tan skin couldn't hide his blush. He muttered something under his breath and dragged the boy along. Selina smiled as the boys left.
Damian brought them into the pamper room. He started the warm bath and filled it with a bit of bubbles. Damian put on long thick gloves.
"What's that for?"
"These will help protect your arms. She might try to claw us when we bathe her," Damian grabbed the cat, "put on a pair."
Danny listened. It was a weird feeling but it was not any weirder than the feeling of being possessed or possessing someone. Luckily the cat seemed to enjoy the bath. The pair chatted a bit. Damian paused to think about something before looking straight at Danny.
"Have you seen a ghost boy since you came here?"
"A what?"
"Ghost. A supernatural spector."
"Nope. You must have been seeing things."
"I most definitely did not imagine a vampire-like creature fighting with a cute ghost only to be sweeped into his arms after."
Danny turned red. Damian thought his ghost half was cute. It seems to be a trend. To be fair they just met and Damian doesn't know they are the same. While his brain was malfunctioning because of the offhand compliment his pants decided to go intangible. Damian raised a brow. Danny just about completely died.
"Charming. Usually, people have dinner or a movie first before taking off their clothes."
"I can explain."
"Why don't you pull up your pants."
Danny listened, absolutely embarrassed.
Damian chuckled, "so ghost. That's an interesting choice."
"Let's not discuss this. It's embarrassing enough without you complimenting my boxer pattern."
"Mhm. She's all clean. Dry her off then put her on the heated animal bed. I'm gonna go grab her food."
Danny grabbed a towel and dried off Cleo. She was looking better already. He looked around the room spotting the beds Damian mentioned. He brought Cleo over who happily made herself comfortable. Damian came over a few moments later with wet food and a bowl of water. Before either one of them could say anything a big green dog phased through a wall.
"What the fuck."
"Damian, go grab a dog toy. I'll go grab treats."
Damian listened, running to the toy bin. Danny changed into his ghost form. Cujo growled at him.
"What's the matter, boy?"
The dog barked at him. Danny was confused. Cujo is usually a good dog. He changed into his ghost form.
"Cujo it's me. Why are you all worked up?"
Damian squeaked the dog toy. The dog didn't pay any mind to it and instead went for Cleo.
"Is this about Cleo? Aw puppy you're not being replaced, I still love you," he scratched under Cujo's chin, "who's a good boy?"
Cujo shrank to his puppy form, his tail wagging happily. Danny pet the dog for a bit before grabbing the thermos. He pops the cap and the ghost dog goes in. Fanny sighed relieved.
"So Cujo. That's a pretty unique name."
Danny jumped, "hello Uh civilian."
Damian rolled his eyes, "you know if you wanna keep your identity a secret you really should be less obvious. "
"It's not what it looks like I swear."
"Danny, relax. I'm not gonna tell anyone. I'm more embarrassed that you know that I think you're cute."
"I totally forgot you said that."
Damian groaned. Of course this would be his luck. He didn't like the look on Danny's face.
"I would turn back before someone else sees you."
"Awe you care," Danny laughed as Damian threw the toy at him, "alright no need to get violent."
Danny changed back into his normal self. He was a bit worried about Damian knowing but there isn't anything he could really do now. He would have to let Sam and Tucker know later. For now he was just gonna have fun with it.
"So you think I'm cute."
"I believe I have also told you I can kick your ass and will if I feel the want to do so."
"For the record I think you're cute too."
Danny could see the blush take over Damian's cheek. It was super cute.
"How's Cleo?"
Danny looked over. In the time it took to deal with Cujo she ate and was down for a nap. Danny petted Cleo, smiling softly. Damian scurried off to put away the dog toy. Both of them knew Damian was just trying to get away from the situation.
When Damian came back he had a big blanket.
"I don't think Cleo would appreciate being buried with that," Danny gestured to the blanket, "what's it for."
"You. She needs human contact. If you followed we have mats and stuff in the playroom so you can cuddle with her. "
Damian scurried off and Danny scooped up the cat and followed. Damian was walking fast like he was being followed by some degenerates.
"Hey slow down. I don't wanna jostle her."
Damian stopped and mumbled a sorry. He continued to lead him. They ended up in a big room full of toys, beds and cat towers.
Danny put down the kitten. Cleo took a few careful steps before going to play. Damian watched as Danny played with her. It was cute. The minute that thought popped into Damian's head he shooed it out. It doesn't matter how cute Danny is, they also just met. He can't go crazy over him yet. Then it dawned on him. He kissed Danny after being 'rescued'. Although on the cheek it was no less embarrassing.
"Hey Damian you okay looking a little red."
Damian jumped not realizing how close Danny had come to him. He socked him in his arm and muttered a shut up. Danny laughed.
"You're annoying, I regret everything now shoo." Damian pouted.
"Aww don't be like that. We both know you don't actually want me to leave. Plus you're cute when you pout."
Damian scowled, " I'm not cute! Keep it up ghost boy I'm gonna—"
"Gonna what. Kick my ass? Feed me to the dogs? Call a priest? Yeah I can escape from all those situations."
Damian huffed and crossed his arms. Danny chuckled and went back to playing with the cat. They hung out there for a while. It was approaching dinner time when Selina came in.
"Alfred called and said he wants you home for supper. "
"Are you going home now too?"
"Once Brittany comes in I can go if you want to wait for me. Does your friend need a ride?"
Danny looked away from the cat, "No ma'am."
Selina nodded, "Okay get ready to go Brittany should be here soon."
Damian acknowledged her and she left. They clean up the mess and set up Cleo temporary home. Damian seemed nervous. Danny can't think of any reason why. Damian tugged on Danny's sleeve. Danny turned and looked at him. Danny's breath got caught in his throat. He knew in his ghost form he had unnaturally green eyes but Damian's were different. The sparkled almost like a light shining through an emerald.
"I was thinking," Damian shuffled a bit uncomfortable, " maybe we can hang out again. "
"Hell yeah, " Danny handed Damian his phone, "give me your number and we can talk about it."
Damian grabbed Danny's phone. He rolled his eyes at the ghost wallpaper. He put in his name and number. He was excited. Not long after Damian and Selina left.
Danny shot Sam a text asking where they were. She texted back with a map link. He hurried over.
"You guys won't believe what just happened."
"Does it have to do with that stupid look on your face?" Sam asked as she picked off the cheese on her slice.
"This is just my regular face!"
Sam rolled her eyes, "Mhm what happened?"
"You remember the kid I saved yesterday," both teens nodded, "well I saw him again and I got his number."
Tucker choked on his pizza. Sam patted his back until he stopped. Tucker looked at Danny bewildered.
"You're telling you got a billionaire, ward of Bruce Wayne, practically a celebrity phone number."
"Oh yeah I forgot he was wealthy but yeah. He's really down to earth. He's snarky, cute, great with animals, and he was totally cool with the ghost thing."
"He was cool with getting kidnapped," Sam looked at him, "Danny you sure this is a good idea."
"No not with getting kidnapped but me being a ghost anyway there is no way—"
Tucker and Sam stood up at the same time and yelled, "he knows?"
Danny smiled sheepishly, "I wasn't planning on telling him but you know some stuff happened it was unavoidable. I'll explain later."
"Explain now!"
Danny ran through everything that happened. He started at finding the cat and ending with the phone number without leaving out a detail. Both of his friends were stunned. Danny happily stole a slice of the pie and ate. It was a good day.
Selina was quiet the first half of the ride. He knew what was coming though. As if on cue Selina lowered the music.
"So that boy. Who is he?"
"A friend."
"Just a friend?"
"As of now, yes. We just met Selina."
"Mhm. And you already gave him your number."
Damian groaned," it's not a big deal."
"So it totally has nothing to do with the fact he is exactly your type and an animal lover."
"Not going to dignify that with a comment."
Selina chuckled at her son's now red cheeks. Hopefully this boy doesn't break his heart. Dealing with heartbreak after Jon was hard and he just now got to a good place.
"Regardless, I'm in your corner. He seems like a kind kid and it's nice seeing you opening up again. I'm proud of you no matter the outcome."
"Thanks," Damian paused, "thanks mom."
It took all of Selina's willpower not to gush. Damian was the last of the kids to come around after Bruce and herself got married. She smiled and put up the music and focused on getting home.

AAHHHH IM SO SORRY FOR ANYONE WHO WASN’T ABLE TO BE TAGGED!! The list is unfortunately officially full, I’m so sorry :( everyone who has been tagged here will be tagged in all future parts!!! (I’m also terribly sorry, some of them won’t tag properly).
Without further ado:
.
Monday nights were now spent with Noah, Casey, and Miss. Bottomette (“Just Margaret is fine, dear”).
They’d come over to Steve’s trailer or he and Louie would go over to theirs and they’d gather around the tables to have dinner and talk.
Steve’s never had a dinner with others where he wasn’t expected to act a certain way. Where he wasn’t expected to be mature and serious.
With Miss. Bottomette and the kids, he goofs off and isn’t reprimanded for it. He puts his elbows on the table while talking to Noah and isn’t slapped upside the head for it.
It’s a very welcomed change.
It’s on one of these Monday nights that Steve officially gets his new babysitter.
He’d had to call off on the dinner. It was last minute and unexpected but they’d all been incredibly understanding and Steve appreciated the hell out of it. He was pulling his shoes on while on the phone with Miss. Bottomette when he’d let it slip.
“I’m so sorry again, Miss. Bottomette. I know this is really last minute and we were supposed to eat at mine tonight but Mason’s got a fever and they need me in the kitchen for the dinner rush—“
“Steve, sweetie, it’s alright. Me and the twins will be quite fine on our own for one Monday, I assure you. You just focus on making sure you don’t overwork yourself to death tonight, yeah?”
Steve chuckled at that, pulling the laces on his sneakers tighter and crafting the phone between his shoulder and ear. “Rodger that. I’ve gotta get going though, need to get Louie situated before I head out.”
“That’s quite alright, dear. Is that Nancy of yours coming to watch him? Or are you taking him there?”
Steve huffed a slightly pathetic chuckle that was more air than anything. “Nah, Nancy’s got her own dinners on Monday nights. Louie usually comes in with me and waits it out.”
Steve was standing straight now— well, with one hip cocked to the side and his hand resting on it. But his shoes were firmly on and Louie was watching him with bright eyes. Steve smiled at the baby and made a face that had Little Louie giggling and covering his mouth with chunky little hands.
On the other line, Miss. Bottomette hummed.
“Well that just won’t do, huh? I could take him for the night, Steve.”
Steve startled and put both hands on the phone.
“Oh! No no no— that’s alright, Miss. Bottomette. My manager, George, is really chill about letting me turn his office into a daycare for Louie while I’m at work. And I’ve got people to check on him there while I’m busy so I’m not leaving him alone the whole time—“
“I hear that, hon, but maybe it’s time you let someone take him off your hands for a bit, yeah? The twins will want to see him at some point anyway.”
Steve pursed his lips and twirled the phone cord around his fingers.
“I seriously can’t ask you to do that, Miss. Bottomette. I’ll be on shift until at least 10 tonight and then I have to help with closing so there’s no guarantee I’ll be back before 11.”
“And that’s quite fine. I’m fully capable of watching your boy until then, dear.”
“Are you sure?” Steve’s voice was so small, so unsure. It made something break a little in Miss. Bottomette’s chest.
“Yes, absolutely.”
Steve sighed into the receiver. “Ok.” He whispered and relented.
“That’s what I thought.” Miss. Bottomette chuckled. “Now, should I come over there or are you ok with bringing him over here?”
.
Work was a doozy.
Between coming in at 6:30 and working until just past 11, Steve was asked constantly about the lack of Louie in the diner.
It was fun and comforting in a way to have so many people care enough to ask about the missing baby. But Steve just wanted to get through his shift quickly to get back to said baby.
He could feel the nerves eating away at him. Steve kept watch on the time all shift, watching the clock tick slower every time.
He’d never left Louie home like this before. Never with anyone other than Nancy. The anxiety was absolutely agonizing but he pushed through until his break, where he called Miss. Bottomette from the phone outside.
“Hello?”
“Hi, Miss. Bottomette, it’s Steve.”
“I know who it is, ain’t no one else call me ‘Miss’ who know me like you do, son.”
Steve managed a slight laugh. It was true. For months now, Steve has been practically apart of their little family. And yet he still referred to her so formally. It was simply something that was beaten into him from a young age.
“You’re right, sorry. I was just calling to check on you guys and Louie?”
“Everyones alright over here, Steve. Noah and Casey are just about passed out on the couch and Louie’s fast asleep in bed.”
Steve breathed a sigh of relief.
“Thank you so much, Miss. Bottomette.”
“You’ve got it dear. Now go get back to work, and tell Gwen and Allya I said hi.”
Steve could hear the smile in her voice.
“Will do, thanks again.”
He hung up after their goodbyes. God, he really needed a cigarette.
He ran inside real quick to grab his pack out of his bag, lighting up the moment he set foot back through the door to the alley by the diner.
Steve hadn’t been able to smoke too much lately with Louie and the twins. Miss. Bottomette also smoked, but she had explained how she’d dialed it down astronomically with how much the twins were over.
Steve was just halfway done with his cigarette, lost in his thoughts and staring off into space when a pair of boots stopped in front of where he was sitting on the curb.
He spared a glance up to the sudden intruder, giving a second glance when he saw Eddie Munson.
Steve blew the smoke out of his lungs. “Um, hi?”
“Harrington.” Was the only response he got.
Steve ground his cigarette out on the sidewalk and stood, tucking the now put out cigarette behind his ear. He took half a step back so he wasn’t quite chest to chest with Eddie.
“Hey, man. Uh— I’m not really looking to buy anything at the moment.” Steve stumbled his way through a sentence. Eddie Munson was a looming presence that Steve couldn’t figure out, not since he’d fist saw him when he started high school.
Eddie was only a year ahead of Steve despite being nearly 2 years older than him. When Steve had started his freshman year, he’d been immediately pulled into Munson’s orbit of lunchtime rants and class skipping.
Until he was pulled by Cairo Rickson, the then-basketball captain. Eddie had kinda left Steve in the dust after he joined the basketball team.
Now Eddie Munson was redoing his senior year a second time— they even shared some classes. But they’d never spoken outside of school or Steve’s old house parties.
Eddie was staring at him with an odd flicker in his gaze. Something that threw Steve almost completely off. Something that almost looked like interest.
Steve swallowed. It was then that he actually took in Eddie’s face— not just his eyes. (Eyes that were so big and dark Steve thought they were black. He’d later realize they were actually a dark brown.) Eddie’s mouth was pressed in a line, his cheeks flushed from the cold breeze, and his eyes narrowed slightly.
He looked almost stressed.
“You alright, dude? C’mon, Eddie talk to me here. You’re kinda freakin’ me out.”
Steve felt his natural worry starting to kick in. That urge to press and figure out what was wrong.
Eddie opened and closed his mouth a few times before sighing aggressively and rubbing a harsh hand down his face. He wore a ton of rings that glinted in the streetlight they stood under.
“Listen—“ Steve was cut off.
“Do you have a lighter? Mine is fucking me over and I just really need to smoke.”
Well, ok then.
Steve blinked owlishly for a moment before spurring into motion.
“Um, Uh! Yeah! Yeah, I’ve got a lighter. Hang on—“
Steve handed over his lighter without a second thought, watching Eddie pull an already-rolled joint out of his pocket and immediately light up. Steve payed extra attention to his lips— pink and bitten-raw— when he blew out the smoke.
“Thanks, man.” Steve’s eyes snapped back to Eddie’s looming ones. They were wide and earnest, no longer narrowed and suspicious.
“Yeah, no problem.” He accepted the offered lighter, ignoring the tingle from their brushing pinkies.
“Alrighty then, Steve-o. Catch you later.” Eddie gave him a two-finger salute and promptly walked away. Steve watched him go, following him with his eyes until he was out of sight and leaving a chorus of “what the fuck” replaying in Steve’s mind.
He tucked his unfinished cigarette back into the box and went to finish his shift.
.
True to his word, Steve wasn’t home until just before 11 that night.
Miss. Bottomette was up and waiting for him, the lamp in the living room on a low setting because there for some reason were never living room lights in trailers. The twins were spread out on the floor, lying on top of each other with Casey’s head on Noah’s legs while she practically kicked him in the face.
Steve snickered quietly to himself, dropping his bag quietly on the couch and closing the door as silently as possible.
Miss. Bottomette barely glanced up from her book to greet Steve. The familiarity gave him butterflies.
“Hey, sweetie.” She bookmarked her page and took off her glasses.
Steve smiled sweetly at her. “Hi, Miss. Bottomette. Louie alright?” He’d noticed the absence of his baby bug the moment he walked in the door.
“He’s quite alright, dear. Sleeping in your room, yes with the pillows.”
Steve deflated slightly, his worries seeping out slowly while Miss. Bottomette reassured him.
“That’s good. Great, yeah. Thanks so much. You need help taking these two back?” He nodded his head to the twins sleeping on his carpet.
“No it’s fine, hon. I’ll just wake ‘em up and let ‘em complain themselves tired again.” She grinned mischievously. Steve giggled.
“I can carry them over,” he offered instead.
“Are you sure, dear? You have to be exhausted after your shift, they can deal with a little bit of walking.”
Steve shook his head and smiled. Yeah, he was tired to the bone, his muscles sore and his legs on fire from standing and serving, but he’d be fine for this last thing. Then he could crash.
He stooped down and took Casey first since she was practically on top of Noah. She woke up briefly, just to smile at Steve and wrap her arms around his neck. He ran her outside and to their trailer just one place over. Setting her down was difficult as she didn’t want to let go of him to lay her bed, but he pried her off eventually.
Noah had shifted to curl around a couch pillow on the floor while he was gone. While Miss. Bottomette shuffled around grabbing all of her stuff, Steve picked up Noah and chuckled when he stayed completely dead to the world.
Noah was slightly heavier than Casey, but Steve made do and walked him carefully to the trailer and into his room. Noah was still out like a light, despite the slightly harsh landing because Steve’s arms gave out.
The twins shared a room, it being split down the middle by a curtain. Steve made sure they were both tucked in and sleeping before turning the lamp on on Noah’s side (he was scared of the dark) and pulling the curtain closed.
Miss. Bottomette was waiting for him again when he got home, her bag over her shoulder and the twins’ shoes in her hands. She smiled at him.
“Thank you so much, hon. Those two are going to wake up tomorrow thinking they teleported.” They both chuckled.
“It was no problem, seriously. Thanks again for watching Louie all night.”
Miss. Bottomette waved him off and gave him a big hug instead.
“Enough with that ‘Miss. Bottomette’ nonsense, kiddo. You can call me Margaret, or even Gran. I promise you there’s nothing wrong with dropping the title.”
Steve swallowed and wrapped his arms around her in return, blinking an onslaught of tears from his eyes. “Thanks,” he whispered into her hair.
“Alright.” She pulled back. “You go ahead and crash. I’ll see you when I see you tomorrow, though you have both school and work, huh?”
Steve chuckled and nodded.
Miss— Gran left then, closing the door as gently as she could (but the door was a piece of shit and had to be slammed in order to fully close). Steve sighed and finally toed his shoes off.
He glanced at himself in the bathroom mirror after a nice, hot shower. His hair was getting longer, curling around his ears and reaching the back of his neck. Steve smiled a little. He liked the length.
Slipping on a shirt that was two sizes too big and his Hawkins swim shorts, Steve didn’t waste another moment before getting into bed right next to Louie.
He turned off the lamp and let the night light shine bright instead. Louie already had a death grip on Steve’s pointer finger. He smiled at his baby and let himself fall asleep.

STWG April Fool's Swap!
Hi friends! The discord hosted an event where each of us got assigned one person and two prompts. Then, we chose one of the prompts and wrote something for April Fool's! This is what I came up with. Have a very Normal day, folks! @strangerthingswritersguild
Prompt: Steve and Eddie find an injured animal and do their best to fix it up. Maybe Wayne gives them a hand :) (written for @jaytriesstuff )
Warnings: This fic is as fluffy as the bunny they save
Word Count: 1.1K
🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇
“Steeeeeve.”
Ah yes. Steve’s favorite way to wake up -  while being not-so-gently shaken by his boyfriend.
“What,” he muttered into the pillow.
“There’s a reeeeeally cute bunny outside,” Eddie whispered.
Steve rolled his eyes. “Seriously?” he whined. “You’re waking me up for that? Dude.”
“If you go outside and see it, you’ll understand why,” Eddie continued. “And! The poor thing is wounded! Come on, Harrington, you love taking care of things. I know it’s your kryptonite. Put on pants and come see this adorable, scared, injured little bunny rabbit with me.”
Steve sighed. Eddie was right, actually, but what got Steve out of his bed was more so the knowledge that it wasn’t a choice. Eddie would keep annoying him about it until he obliged, so…
“Fine,” he groaned, sitting up and rubbing the sleep from his eyes. “Why were you outside anyway?”
Eddie smirked, triumphant. “Well, you see - your parents have the nose of bloodhounds, and I’m not about to get you into trouble for your room smelling like cigarette smoke again….”
Steve remembered that. His parents were gone a lot, so Eddie stayed over a lot, and he smoked like a chimney. On colder nights, he tried smoking out the window, but…
“Oh,” Steve said as he slipped a pair of jeans on. “That’s actually, uh, yeah. Okay. Thanks.”
Eddie put his palm delicately on Steve’s cheek. “I’m not a monster,” Eddie told him. Then, he lightly slapped Steve on that same cheek - eliciting another eyeroll. “Okay, let’s go.”
-
God dammit. The rabbit was actually really cute.
Steve crouched down beside it in the grass. The little guy was breathing fine, but it seemed to be soundly asleep. “What do you think happened to it?” he said.
“Him,” Eddie corrected. “He’s a dude.”
Steve contorted his face into confusion as he turned to Eddie. “How do you know that?”
Eddie shrugged. “I’m more than just a pretty face, great hair, and massive talent, Steve.” After Steve stared blankly at him, Eddie continued. “Okay, so maybe I don’t actually know for sure, because I’d have to like, reeeeally inspect him to know, but I’m pretty confident just from, like, the vibes.”
This was one of those times where Steve could not believe he was in love with this man. It was also one of the times he knew exactly why he was. Eddie had a way of making both those feelings happen simultaneously, all the time.
“I named him Drugs,” Eddie added. Then, he grinned. “Drugs Bunny.”
Steve closed his eyes and put his head in his hands. “Jesus Christ,” he mumbled. “It’s perfect.”
“He’s perfect,” Eddie corrected.
Steve let his hands drop back down and stood up straight again. He looked at Eddie and smiled. “Yeah, right,” Steve said. “He is.”
-
Well, they weren’t gonna bring an injured wild animal back into the Harrington house, that’s for damn sure. Whether or not Steve’s parents ever found out, the risk was enough to make him woozy. So, naturally, Eddie and Steve wrapped the bunny in an old t-shirt and gently brought him into Steve’s van, where he sat on Steve’s lap in the passenger seat while Eddie drove slower and more carefully than he ever had before.
The Harrington house was the wrong place for this project, but Forest Hills was a free-for-all.
“Shit,” Steve said as they approached the trailer. “Wayne’s home.”
“Shh,” Eddie replied, nodding towards the bunny. He opened the door as gently as possible, then mouthed - Leave him in here.
Steve had no idea what was going on, but okay sure. He was already this deep in it, what’s a little more?
They left the car doors open and walked into the trailer, where Eddie immediately started calling for Wayne and opening cabinets.
“What are you boys up to now?” Wayne asked as he approached from the hall.
“Eddie found a wounded rabbit outside,” Steve explained as Eddie continued to rummage around. “Now, we’re co-parenting.”
Wayne chuckled. “Sounds like my boy,” he said. “Alright, kids, I’ll bite. What’s wrong with the rabbit?”
“We don’t know,” Steve responded.
“Well, you’ll probably have to call the vet if it’s domestic. If it’s wild then a rehabilitator is your best bet.”
“There’s rehab for rabbits?” Steve asked, surprised.
“Oh, sweetie,” Eddie said, a look of endearment on his face.
“Why are both of you experts on this?”
“Well,” Eddie began before turning to Wayne. “You wanna take this one?”
Wayne sighed. “Yeah, alright,” he said. “So, my sister, you know. Eddie’s mom. She was a veterinarian. Loved animals more than she loved me, I think.” He chuckled. “Anyway, we did this kind of thing a lot with her.”
“We’re kiiiiind of famous in the animal community,” Eddie added. “If only my dad hadn’t made the Munsons famous for other shit.”
Steve noticed how neither Eddie nor Wayne seemed particularly sad about this fact. He figured the both of them had accepted their place in this world, and didn’t care much what other people thought about it.
That was an attribute Steve was still working on.
“Oh,” Steve said after a moment. “That’s really sweet, honestly.”
Eddie started gagging and making dramatic choking noises. “Don’t say that,” he demanded. “I’m not sweet, I just got a heart, that’s all.”
“Eds,” Steve countered. “You have a small rabbit in the passenger’s seat of your van, bundled in your shirt, and you’re currently making some kind of habitat for it.” Steve gestured to the box Eddie was prepping, which seemed ridiculously large considering the size of the animal, but whatever. “I hate to break it to you, but you’re a softie.”
Eddie stuck his tongue out at Steve.
“Oh, that’s where he is?” Wayne intruded. “The van?”
Eddie nodded. “Yeah, I figured it was quiet and dark enough in there,” he explained. “Come on, let’s go get him settled.”
The three of them walked out to the van and peered in through the open car door, only to find that the bunny was now sitting on top of the shirt, perfectly awake and happy, nose twitching.
“Hooooly shit,” Steve said.
“It’s an Easter miracle!” Eddie exclaimed.
“I thought you said it was wounded,” Wayne pointed out.
“He was,” Eddie clarified. “I mean - I thought he was. He was just - he was lying there looking all sad, and -” He fell deep into thought for a moment before continuing. “Huh. I guess he was just being dramatic.”
Steve chuckled. “Oh, now I see why you love him so much. He’s just like you.”
Eddie laughed, then leaned over and put his face next to the bunny’s. “I mean,” he said, “the resemblance is there, right?”
Steve nodded with another light laugh. “Yeah, the resemblance is there, cutie.”
And that, my friends, is how the Munsons ended up with Drugs.

This is much later and a lot shorter than I intended it to be.
Diana was expecting to have a normal night routine, which included the typical 3AM snack, not go downstairs and nearly have a heart attack when she realized a boy had broken into her house to get some food. She should’ve called the cops, yet here she was, sharing some leftover chicken noodle soup with him.
“Sorry for the intrusion. If it makes you feel better, I didn’t break anything and the only thing I intended on stealing was a bit of food.” The boy, or Danny as he introduced himself, apologized. Diana handed him a bowl and fork and sat next to him on the couch, where they both sat in darkness, with the exception of the light from the kitchen.”It’s alright. Now that I’ve given it to you, it’s not considered stealing, now is it?” She replied. The black haired boy smiled a bit and shrugged.
They both ate in silence for a while. Or at least, in audible silence. Diana’s mind raced with questions and only a few answers. How did he even manage to get in without breaking anything? Did he pick a lock? She would probably have to change them. Where did he come from? In the little light flowing in from the kitchen, his clothes looked battered and dirty. Diana couldn’t tell which assumption was worse; the possibility of him coming from an awful home or not having a home at all.
When Diana glanced at her phone to check the time after eating, she saw that 15 minutes had flown by. It felt like only three or four. She got up to bring her bowl to the kitchen sink, but was stopped by Danny speaking up.“Do you know of any homeless shelters I could crash at?” He asked.
So that confirmed that assumption.”The closest one is a couple miles. You should stay here for the night.” Diana said. She put her bowl in the sink, which was soon copied by Danny. He looked at her as if she grew a second head.”Wait, seriously?” He asked.“I’m grateful for the offer, but a kid appeared in your house with no sign of forced entry raiding your kitchen and you want to let him stay the night? I honestly expected you to chase me out when you turned on the lights.” He said.
“I think we’re both a little too tired to discuss this. Get some rest and we’ll talk more in the morning, you look worse than some of my coworkers.” Diana said, flipping the light switch off and heading to bed.”There’s a closet with spare blankets and pillows down the hall. Help yourself.” She added.
At the end of the hall, she opened the door to her bedroom and Danny found the closet.”Isn’t it technically already morning?” He asked. Dianapaused and rolled her eyes with a small smile.”Oh, no. The kid who broke into my house is into jokes.” She joked before closing and locking her door.
In the morning, Danny was gone. He left a thank you note and mentioned that he’s heading towards the homeless shelters.
If we ever cross paths again, teach me how to make that soup! — Danny

Hi, Halfa!
Recently, I have seen a lot of fanfics regarding the relationship between Danny and Constantine, as in couple but most commonly father-son dynamic or similar.
Do you think they could work out or are their personalities too different? And what would that look like?
Hello, Anony! X3
There are definitely plenty of lovely fics with these two involved, romantic or not. There's Contractual Obligations by the lovely @arzuera and @tathartiel~ which is a father-son fic. There's also Ashes by the incredible @jaytriesstuff which features these two as a couple. Just a few examples if anyone is interested in them.
I do think that a relationship between these two can work, even despite or perhaps because they are different in many ways. Yes, there are many qualities they share- Constantine may be an ass but in the end for all his dubious morals he is still a hero, and that deserves some recognition. But in some regards, they have such different life experiences that maybe it can be hard to imagine them together or interacting in any way.
But you don't have to be the carbon copy of someone to love them. They say opposites attract, and that can be true. Sometimes you need that different perspective in your life to help you grow to be a better person or look past the biases you grew up with.
There are plenty of parents whose children grow to be nothing like them and they can still love them. Because a kid is not meant to be your do-over, a kid is meant to be a life you bring into the world so that they can live it. Even if it's not something you would have chosen for yourself. And there's plenty of parents who don't want their children to be anything like them, because they made mistakes they can't take back.
A lot of it depends on what kind of characterization you want Constantine to have. There are many versions of his character; sometimes he acts like a self-centered asshole only looking out for himself, sometimes he acts as a mentor to Billy Batson or Timothy Hunter because they're kids who need a hand.
Personally, Constantine as a father to me would be that parent who doesn't want their kid to turn out like them. He's done terrible things for the sake of survival that no one should have to. If he wanted to be a good parent, I can see him trying to distance himself or his past from Danny to make sure he doesn't get caught up in that. This might sound bad, but in some cases, it is genuinely better to give a child up for adoption, and that would probably be the same here for Constantine.
As a couple can be a little more tricky. Because you run the risk of Danny's relationship with John turning into a twisted 'I can fix him' scenario, which is never healthy. Yes, relationships can help you grow, but you should never go into one with the thought that you can change a person. For one, that's not realistic. For another, they don't always have to change. Sometimes one half of the couple just thinks the other half should, which again, unhealthy. And of course, that means you don't care about a person for who they are but some vision you have of them. Not much better.
But if these two are on equal footing, I can imagine it growing into something that has a lot of potential to be a healthy relationship. I love to think about how different their perspectives are on death and how that reflects on them as people. Constantine has made so many soul contracts in his endless attempts to escape death. On the other hand, Danny has died and embraces death every time he transforms into Phantom.
I could wax poetic about this pair if I wanted to, but I should really wrap this up at some point lol I do believe these two have a lot of potential, but I always have been a multi-shipper at heart.
