January books read: @littleinklingsdesign Always Booked Up planner and stickers from @plan_with_monica. 19 books, 4.54 star average, no DNF. Good month. My goal for the year is 144, 12 books a month, so I am ahead of the game. Finally read Michael McDowell’s Blackwater Saga, all six books of it, and it was fascinating and dark and eerie. Oh look, January is ending ...

This took me, arguably too long (a month actually) to make but here we are: First Tumblr post of the year! (I never had a Tumblr prior to this, yes, judge me hard for that. I was too busy being a recluse. Still am, but might as well subject my woes here along with other dongles going on in my head). But I digress.

Hi! I am the puddle Pond. Call me Pond. Or the puddle. Or the Flamingo Fanatic (long story).

Last year, I wanted to make a Discord server with a close friend of mine (the marmot) about books but lo and behold, life got in the way, it never took off and I have since deleted my Discord account for good. Not wanting to leave it at that, I thought about making it into a Tumblr page just for us. You know, bake my cake and eat it too kind of deal. And so here I am, writing up this post while sipping on my hot Earl Grey milk tea in a boba milk tea shop, my laptop battery slowly dying and Valerie Broussard singing huskily in my ears. I am a bullet journalist since 2018 15. I love creating artwork in them as well 16. I also create bookmarks and prints 17. Which I sell on Etsy 18. I read better when theres music on in the background 19. I have several reading playlists on Spotify that I listen to 20. Last year I read 230 books 21. Happy February 1st, everyone! I read four books in January. 📖 Night Shift by Stephen King - DNF. So this was my first King and I think I’ve discovered he just isn’t my cuppa tea. It was an interesting because I can’t tell the skeleton is excellent. Really great craft, solid writing, but the stories themselves aren’t to my tastes. I needed a palate cleanser, so I read a bunch it fluffy fan-fiction after I gave up on the book. 📖 The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie. Loved this book! @abibliophilesstyle and @thewrittenwordandtea are hosting a challenge this year with a different Christie book every month. Next is The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. I didn’t win the Whodunnit game with TMAAS, but maybe I’ll get it with TMORA 🤞. 📖 The Prisoner of Zenda by Anthony Hope. Well, I read it. It was fine IMHO, but (no surprise) I’m not really a fan of stories where all the good guys are dudes and perfect and big friggin heroes, all the bad guys are just bad for the sake of being bad, and all the ladies just faint and cry in the background. 📖 Changeless by Gail Carriger. LOOOOOOOVE!!! This book had me picking it up between every little task to get in a little more reading. I finished it last night and now I’m onto the next!
