Welcome to the Soneva Jani!
“Soneva Jani is nestled within the tranquil waters of the Noonu Atoll, where sun-drenched blue skies and azure seas stretch out in every direction. One of the world’s lowest density resorts, there are just 51 over-water and three island residences, the largest and most luxurious villas in the Maldives, each designed for the ultimate privacy, space and breathtaking ocean views. Relax in iconic Water or Island Villas for the ultimate indulgence.”
UNDER THE CUT, YOU’LL FIND THE LIST OF ROOMMATES!
Unless we got a message from you telling us you wanted to be with a specific person or were not in the ships list - you were included in the generator. If you do not see your FCs name on this list, please message us POLITELY and let us know - sometimes a name gets missed getting put into the generator. We’re human and it happens! At the same time, if your FC is on there twice by any chance then please let us know. Again, mistakes happen. As we accept new applications and people come into the group before AND during the event, this list will be updated. Same will go for if people get unfollowed or ask to leave the group. We posted the pairings in advance so that you may reach out to your roommate and get new interactions going! Even if a mun is on hiatus, be sure to reach out to them so that you can see if you can head-canon some interactions or plan for something when they are off hiatus. All trips are to encourage new interactions and unlikely connections!
PLEASE LIKE THIS NOTICE WHEN YOU HAVE READ IT AND SO THAT YOU CAN KEEP TRACK OF THE LIST UPDATES!

A possible reason for the resurgence of the Beckham-Sussex disconnect by u/Mickleborough
A possible reason for the resurgence of the Beckham-Sussex disconnect Some have been wondering why the Beckham and Sussex distancing is making news lately - it all happened a while back. From this GB News report, it seems that the revival was sparked by the fact that, at football icon Lionel Messi’s debut game playing for David Beckham’s team Inter Miami on 21 July, celebrities were present (ie LeBron James and Serena Williams - and Kim Kardashian), but no Sussexes. The media seized upon that as a definite indication of a rift (although arguably the non-invite to son Brooklyn’s £3.07 m / $4 m wedding would’ve been a clear slap in the face). To recap, according to Tom Bower in the GB news clip, the cooling-off was due to:- The Beckhams being invited to the Sussex wedding ceremony, but not the dinner - Victoria wasn’t impressed, particularly as the Beckhams had helped the Sussexes, but not been properly thanked.- The Beckhams felt that they’d been ostracised by the Sussexes. Victoria had helped Meghan with clothes and makeup, but Meghan turned the cold shoulder anyhow and subsequently decided not to talk to them.- When the Waleses were in Boston for the Earthshot Prize, David flew there from Qatar to support them - but didn’t do the same for the Sussexes, who were in New York. The Sussexes felt slighted.Interestingly this clip from Sky News Australia states that the revived reporting wasn’t based on any new tip-offs - the media just ran with it. A theory is that this is what happens when Harry pisses off the Fourth Estate (ie the public press). post link: https://ift.tt/pQaSO7N author: Mickleborough submitted: August 02, 2023 at 08:41AM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

Review/Reaction of IT Chapter Two
Let’s just start right off the bat and let me just say that Bill Hader better get a fucking award for his performance.
Alright. Here we go y’all. im trying to stay in order with what happened but so much happened in the movie that my brain is just all over the place so excuse me while i try to form words
UNDER THE CUT CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS
• first opening scene is a fucking LOT okay like i sobbed my eyes out and it was just not cool. adrian and his boyfriend? CUTE AF. Him getting brutally beat up and then killed by Pennywise while Don just watches? NOT CUTE AF
• Mike is a precious boy and I love him so. He cares about his friends so much holy shit. they all get mad at him for lying to them tho.But he only did it to protect them. Mike knew some SHIT(tm) our boy is so smart?? I’m glad they kept to his original storyline
• Older Bill gave himself so much shit this film and i just felt so bad. like we know it isnt ur fault okay?? We know you loved your brother, stop putting yourself down. also?? him becoming protective over dean? please stop my aching heart.
• Jessica Chastain owns my whole heart and she can kick my ass anyday. She plays Bev so well and captures young bev’s personality so well. her scene with mrs kersh was very weird. i knew the second she ran naked in the hall i’d be seeing some weird fucking shit okay
• Jay Ryan could kick me and I would personally thank him like?? wow what a man. He immediately recognizes bev when he first sees her and im just?? im happy. so many hidden new kids on the block reference and it had me fucking rolling in my grave
• JAMES FUCKING RANSONE MY DUDE OH LORD okay listen. he gives off young eddie’s panic and chaotic energy so perfectly i felt like i was watching him as an adult, who just never grew up. I think thats what he was going for honestly. He played eddie SO FUCKING WELL
• I’m so sad about stan. THats all you need to know okay. I’ll talk about his letter later on in this. Stan deserved better. that’s all.
• if you are not a fan of vomit you’re not gonna enjoy richie tozier. literally any time something bad happens hes just like ah shit here we go again *vomits* and honestly? that made me laugh. like hes just like oh shit something is happening let.. let me just.. no no its fine guys ill catch up.. EHBWFIJHDFSIJ no okay but bill hader stole the fucking show. his acting was phenomenal and,, again,, i’ll add more onto that later.
• richie scares the shit out of dean. because he thinks hes pennywise. but can you blame him? the kid just. stared at him all creepy and shit. but its so funny. the losers make fun of him bc he doesnt know his own lines from his acts and richies just like “I dont write my own material” and eddies just like “I KNEW IT! I FUCKING KNEW IT” dead. goodbye.
• Young losers were still my favorite part honestly. Eddie kept bouncing that stupid ball in stan’s face in the clubhouse and i was waiting for him to get punched in the face tbh. That didn’t even seem like eddie, that was Jack’s energy bursting through the seams lmfao
• young eddie runs into a fucking box and shrieks and if that isn’t me idk ewhdfiajksjdoi
• THE FUCKING. HAMMOCK. SCENE. okay listen to me. thats gay. hammocks are now gay. gays only. gay interacts only. the bickering between reddie had me in TEARS. eddie kept kicking at his face and just?? casually??? lays on him when richie wont move??
• stan’s fucking shower cap ehfdiujasdiosa and then richie being like “nobodys afraid of spiders stanley okay” and eddie slowly removes his because he cares what richie thinks more than spiders ok
• a flashback from after they defeated IT in the first move with reddie “eddie youve been gone for 24 hours your face is most likely on a milk carton by now” “shut up richie”
• yong Richie has me weak af this whole movie, like always. just getting on Eddie’s case. HE PINES SO HARD OH Y GOD Like wow my sweet boy is so fucking in love ouch. which?? BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT POINT??
• THE ARCADE SCENE?? he checks out the kid standing next to him and tries to get him to hang out more and then the other kid tells him to stop being weird because he’s not gay, too, and then uses the F slur. richie was just so hurt. paul bunyun scene happens after that and hes just like “I just shit my pants” and i cried.
• pennywise screaming “lets play truth or dare, you wouldnt pick truth! you dont want them to know your secret” gave off the same energy as eddie’s leper blowjob scene from the book. same energy. do with that as you will.
• they had some flashbacks that included pennywise and im not sure if this was before or after they had defeated IT in the first movie but i interpreted it as after and if thats the case... hes supposed to be dead. but now thinking back on it, it was probably just more scenes before they put pennywise to rest for 27 years.
• young richie went to the kissing bridge after that and we ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED THERE. fucking.. r + e :((( although we don’t see him carving the E. but reddie is canon so suck toes antis
• stephen king pretty much being like “I know u and ur endings really do suck” to bill when he comes to buy his bike was so fucking funny. it almost felt like a self insert lmfao. ALSO HIM MAKING BILL PAY 300 BUCKS FOR THE BIKE BC HE KNEW HE COULD AFFORD IT? iconic.
• richie and eddie opening the door to the dog had me laughing. pennywise was just mocking them at that point. they’d be such good dog dads and now im sad
• i was really confused because they added part of stan’s bar mitzvah?? like it wasn’t even the same from the first movie. like they should’ve just put the deleted scene in from ch. 1 and then added that part. thats one of my very few complaints. im slowly hiding them in here.
• henry bowers was kinda irrelevant in this honestly but thank you eddie for stabbing him and richie for killing him for trying to kill mike yall heroes
• BEVS BLOOD SCENE ?? CORRESPONDING WITH BENS BURIED ALIVE SCENE? poetic cinema. 10/10
• the big fight really disappointed me in all honesty. but i think thats because andy said he cut so much from there. i expect it to be better with the director’s cut
• eddie saving richie and then immediately being stabbed by pennywise’s claw? IM DEPRESSED.
• “Rich! rich, i did it! i think i killed him!” Our boy was so happy with himself :(
• eddie’s last words WERE NOT “i fucked your mom”. he was talking to richie and you can hear them talking while the rest are preparing to end pennywise. so im hoping we get that as a deleted scene.
• richie goes back to help finish pennywise but when he goes to check on eddie.. he’s dead. ://// and bev is like “richie, come on, honey.. im sorry” and richie does not want to believe him. he grabs and hugs eddie so tight i swear i could feel that hug from the audience.
• another thing im disappointed in and am sliding in is some of the animations? Like. fucking weird. but okay. luckily i didn’t care too much.
• THE SOB that richie lets out when he holds eddie really hurt my fucking soul jesus christ just kill me
• the losers try cheering him up after and like. thats their friend too but you can just totally tell he’s crying in a different type of grief. THAT WAS HIS FIRST FUCKING LOVE.
• they all remember after and thats really important to me okay
• stan writes letters and its spoken outloud while the other losers get little montages of what theyre doing with their life after the battle. Richie goes back to the kissing bridge and recarves- YES RECARVES AND YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE E BEFORE HE DOES- he recarves the E and while doing it, stan’s voice says “be proud of who you are” and im fucking cry ibg okay
• in the end, i give this movie a 7/10 rating. although some of the animations were weird and some of the flashbacks had pennywise in it (like hes supposed to be currently dead but ok... maybe nightmares??) the actors were PHENOMENAL and the chemistry between older richie and older eddie made me so happy. my ship is canon. but im still sad about stan and eddies death.
• ignoring canon in 3.. 2.. 1.. now

Through MusiCares® we have found the charitable vehicle that can come alongside our hurting musical family.
"Music has always played a role in history; reflecting both the subtle and monumental moments of our lives through its unique DNA. Music connects each of us, acting as a common thread of unification, opening the hearts of all people.
"Regardless of the color of one's skin, status or station in life, music powerfully breaks through boundaries as its message permeates deep within us; healing our human frailties and condition at our cores. Music is transformative and personal. It powerfully underscores our lives."
"Music has always helped transport, uplift and inspire us through wars, economic hardships, health crises and societal upheavals," says show co-creator, Richard Kraft. "When COVID-19 hit, it threatened the lives and livelihood of much of our Film & TV Music community. So, we decided to create an online special that both celebrates the soundtrack of our lives and benefits, via MusiCares®, the artists who create it."

Ch.2 reactions part four
Y’all I have spent all day writing posts about this movie jfc. Anyway, spoilers ahead for everything.
Skateboard Kid & Bill
- I was really surprised by how much I liked Bill in this movie. I really think Andy did Bill more justice than SK ever did because of his choice to focus almost entirely on his guilt over Georgie and downplay the whole... Audra and Bev thing. Bill is at his best when it’s about Georgie and the tunnel vision he gets about that, so watching him project that guilt onto Dean was really, really good.
- Also the kid playing Dean was SO CUTE WTF?? That child’s eyes are half the size of his entire head. And he’s such a good little actor. I still wish he said the iconic “can’t be careful on a skateboard” line, but him being all creeped out by Bill following him around made up for it. Because... yeah he’s not WRONG, it’s super weird for a grown ass man to show up outside your house and then follow you into a carnival ride looking all deranged like that!!
- That being said, the fun house scene was just as heartbreaking as I hoped it would be. “I’m here this time, please just take me” - wow. Just... wow.
- Bill getting tunnel-vision after witnessing that death and going straight to Neibolt like he’s gonna kill Pennywise by himself is so Bill. Classic Bill. There are three words I associate with Bill Denbrough and they are: guilt, vengeance, and tunnel-vision. This movie was overflowing with that.
Henry Bowers
- First of all, Richie fucking peacing out after Ben convinced him to stay was so fucking funny.
- Loved James Ransone in the Henry Bowers scene... he’s such a great comedic actor and he has a special, rare talent for making serious situations have an element of humor without taking away from the seriousness of the situation.
- The Bev-Eddie parallel of him hiding behind the shower curtain to attack Henry!
- He stabbed a guy with a knife he pulled out of his own face! And then fucking roasted him on his way out! Love that about him! (and, again, love the Adrian parallel)
- When he looks at Ben and Bev with blood pouring out of his face hole and just says “Bowers is in my room. :)” That fucking smile killed me, he’s so WEIRD AND CUTE.
- Ben fucking launching into hero mode and running in to Eddie’s room to murder the shit out of Henry. What a man what a man what a mighty good man, he’s a mighty good man.
- I really... really wish that Richie had killed Henry after finding out he stabbed Eddie in the face. I don’t know how that would have worked out? But I still wish it happened that way.
- That being said “That was long overdue. ...Get it? Cause it’s a library?” was SO FUCKING FUNNY.
- Also hilarious was Ben’s “Are you alright?” and Richie’s “NO I’M NOT ALRIGHT I JUST KILLED A GUY!” ..... Ben: “... I was talking to Mike.”
Side Commentary:
- During the bar mitzvah speech, I thought it was really important that the “change is so scary” line was paired with the image of Eddie returning to Neibolt for his fannypack. Because change IS scary, and that’s one of the most important parts of Eddie’s entire character arc. So I really liked that editing choice, and it was very intentional.
- At first I was really pissed that they seemed to be turning Mike’s parents into “crackheads”, so I was VERY HAPPY when at the end of the movie he looks at the same newspaper clipping and the article’s title is very different. Like thank God it was just Pennywise being a bitch and Will and Jess still have their integrity.
Neibolt House:
- Loved revisiting Bill’s speech after they all rush to catch up to him at Neibolt. I love... parallels... and the IT franchise is just overflowing with them, everywhere you look there are parallels and cycles and history repeating... I think that’s half the reason I love it so much.
- More parallels: Beverly saving Ben’s life using the same spear she later gives to Eddie, which he then uses to save Richie’s life... wow. The Benverly/Reddie parallels... so good. That spear saves lives.
- Stan’s head was creepy, but I’m still partial to miniseries!Stan-head sjfksghs.
- Richie immediately running over to Eddie and asking if he’s okay. Continuously putting Eddie’s safety before his own!
- I actually kind of liked Eddie freezing up in this moment. It took some reflection to come to terms with Eddie taking so long to summon his courage, but here’s the take I settled on: in the novel, Eddie IS paralyzed by fear a couple of times because of his mother’s voice in his head telling him to run. As a kid, he manages to push his fear aside and helps his friends, but he grapples with it at first. As an adult, he grapples with it longer and it’s only when Richie’s voice enters his mind asking for help that he jumps into action. So in the movie, it makes sense that Eddie would freeze for such a long time as an adult, after he’s spent a lifetime steeped in fear of literally everything. Of course he wouldn’t leap into action as quickly as he did at age 13.
- Eddie’s “Please don’t be mad, Bill... I was just scared” was fucking HEARTBREAKING and he genuinely sounded like a frightened child who just gravely disappointed his dad. Wow. James Ransone... wow.
- Ben fucking stabbed the shit out of that head, though. Jesus Christ.
Next: final battle and ending thoughts.

It, Chapter 2 (2019)
After almost 2 years, Andy Muschietti’s highly anticipated It Chapter 2 is finally in theaters! I had the chance to see it opening night and I must stress something right up front: I am NOT jealous of the task Muschietti took on. Stephen King’s It has long been regarded one of his most ambitious novels, blending themes of childhood nostalgia, multidimensional beings, fear itself and the hold that your hometown can have over you. As proven by the 1990 miniseries, these can be very difficult concepts to translate from page to screen. So how did Andy and his producer sister Barbara Muschietti do this time around?
It Chapter 2 takes place 27 years after the events of 2017’s It, as Pennywise the Dancing Clown returns to the town of Derry, Maine to hunt children, made all the more tasty when forced to marinate in their own fear. After a quick flashback to the first movie, the film jumps to present day. Just as the death of Georgie kicks off the first movie’s, we set this film rolling with a brutal hate crime against Adrien Mellon, a gay man attending Derry’s Canal Day Festival. Upon further investigation, it’s confirmed by OG Loser Mike Hanlon that Pennywise has returned and phone calls are placed to each member of The Losers Club.
As I said, siblings Andres and Barbara Muschietti had no small feat on their hands. Not only did they need to take us through re-introductions of each member of The Losers Club, now all successful adults (safe for Mike, since he never left Derry) but they then dive back into flashbacks to show us more moments where Pennywise had tormented our protagonists. The adult Losers are rounded out by Jessica Chastain (Bev), James McAvoy (Bill), Jay Ryan (Ben), Bill Hader (Richie), Isaiah Mustafa (Mike), James Ransone (Eddie), and Andy Bean (Stan). Reprising their roles in flashbacks are Sophia Lillis (Bev), Jaeden Martell (Bill), Jeremy Ray Taylor (Ben), Finn Wolfhard (Richie), Chosen Jacobs (Mike), Jack Dylan Grazer (Eddie) and Wyatt Oleff (Stan).
Like Mindhunter earlier this year, It Chapter 2 does an amazing job with its casting. The adult Losers actually pass for grown up counterparts to the younger cast, Ben, Richie and Eddie’s character’s being at the top of my list for the “What Kind of Witchcraft is This?!” award. An honorable mention must go out to Teach Grant and Nicholas Hamilton as adult and young Henry Bowers respectively. I feel Bower’s character was somewhat underutilized, which is sad because both actors gave amazing performances as the Losers’ human bully.
Lastly, we see Bill Skarsgård reprise his role as Pennywise. Skarsgård gave a standout performance in 2017’s It, making the role entirely his own rather than trying to duplicate Tim Curry’s iconic performance in the 1990 miniseries. I was glad to see Pennywise get a little more time to shine during this feeding cycle. We get to see him as an opportunist, hunting down easy prey and we also get to see him as a clever, and ultimately deadly, conniving murderer. Skarsgård’s performance really highlights just how much Pennywise enjoys these feeding cycles, milking each and every minute he’s on screen and giving a portrayal that’s just as goofy as it is menacing. His dialogue this time around seems especially menacing, taking on the tone of an inter-dimensional bully.
As with any adaptation of a Stephen King novel, some key points and characters are left out to allow for breathing room. This gave Muschietti the opportunity to expand on some of the more esoteric aspects of the story, such as the Ritual of Chud, the Losers reverting back to their childhood selves (best exemplified by Bill’s returning stutter) and lastly the origins of Pennywise and the Dead Lights.
The tone of the movie also felt very balanced. It had been stated in many interviews that the Muschietti’s planned to make Chapter 2 much scarier than their first installment, which had me somewhat worried, as I didn’t want them to lose sight of what I felt made the first movie so great! Luckily for audiences, they still managed to effortlessly balance comedy, heartbreaking emotional scenes and amped up terror effortlessly.
Stephen King’s novel frequently jumps back and forth between timelines. Books tend to have an easier time with these jumps, however it has always been much trickier to get the same message across on film. Here is where I feel the movie had the most difficulty. At times, the shift from present day to flashbacks felt a bit jerky, and others felt as though they flowed pretty seamlessly. After a while, the film did feel repetitive and somewhat formulaic in that once one character’s flashback/present day block was done, we knew the next character’s mission was up next. You have to consider the fact that the film makers were working off of a Marvel Cinematic Universe style source material, with 7 main character’s and, at times, two villains to follow. That being said, the movie easily could have fallen apart in less experienced hands and I applaud Muschietti for the way he managed to meld things together as best as he could.
On the other hand, one aspect I found down right distracting was the de-aging effect used on the younger cast. I understand that the cast had grown up in the 2 years or so between filming movies, but I would have rather had the task of suspending my own belief and staying immersed in the movie over being distracted by the digital effects artists trying to make Jeremy Ray Taylor’s cheeks digitally chubby! At times it even made the audio feel as though it was off. There were certainly some wonky green screen shots in the first movie that distracted me in a similar way but I think I actually missed a few lines of dialogue from being thrown off by how strange it looked.
Where the digital effects were used best was in helping Pennywise transform into an array of different creatures. We got to see many different variations on The Eater of Worlds and although I’m a huge advocate for practical effects, I feel the digital effects was definitely necessary for some of the more fun-house-like sequences.
As a fan of both the book and the 1990 miniseries, I feel It Chapter 2 did a great job sticking close to the source material while still being its own adaptation that will surprise fans of King’s book. If you’ve only seen Chapter 1, I think you’ll really love how the story is tied up and would highly suggest you dive deep into the book. First time readers will also have fun realizing what all the shots of turtles in both movies mean! Andy and Barbra Muschietti have once again done a great job tackling one of the most complicated monsters in recent history, without losing sight of the emotional core that makes the story so amazing. Where the movie may struggle structurally, it excels thematically and brings the scares they promised. It Chapter 2 is surprisingly emotional, humorous and will remind you of what it’s like to check under your bed at night!

ok so you like reddie too? an icon. also like how about eddie thinking richie is the cutest person ever and fawning over him and he’s just in awe of how this lanky comedian can be adorable
I do like Reddie! I’m a little more of a book fan than a movie fan, but that being said, even if the movies had never come out I would still say Bill Hader and James Ransone would have been the perfect actors for them. It’s almost eerie how amazing that worked out.
I seriously love Eddie being soft over Richie; I feel like everything I see is the opposite which is nice and all, but hello, people who pretend Eddie is an uwu soft bottom boy or whatever seem to forget the guy who stabbed Henry Bowers, so...Anyways, Eddie may put up his “Richie is so annoying what a pest” front in front of everyone else, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t fucking melt the minute he sees his boyfriend after a long day of being apart. He loves how Richie’s hair is always a fucking mess no matter how many times he tries to get it to lay down flat. He loves how he knows that Richie is tired when he comes home in his glasses instead of his contacts, having obviously changed at some point in the day, and how he’ll push them up to rub his fists against his eyes and stifle a yawn. He loves how even when “Trashmouth Tozier” is on stage saying the absolute dirtiest shit, Eddie still sees the little things like how he’ll giggle just a little before getting to the punchline of his own damn joke, or how he always starts off a little nervous, which no one would know unless they watched how he wraps one arm around his middle and tugs a little at his shirt before he gets started, and Eddie just thinks adorable. He loves how Richie just seems too tall for himself, so lanky and clumsy and always falling all over himself or knocking shit over with a stray elbow. Jesus fucking Christ, he thinks even if they didn’t take down an actual ancient cosmic evil/eater of worlds he still would have found Richie brave and beautiful and strong and fallen in love with him forever and ever. How could he not?
