Thinking About Sunnyyyy not even sexy im just pondering his issues [under cut for all kinds of abuse & trauma & mental issues & shit]

even after everything his dad put him through. being abusive & neglectful to him his whole childhood esp after his mom died, deliberately almost letting him die, telling him flat out from a young age that he didnt want him and outwardly favoring his siblings, saying endless awful things to him about his disabilities & his sickliness & his sexuality, essentially disowning him & refusing any of sunnys attempts to be friendly to him, making him feel like an unlovable burden from the day he was born, etc . sunny is way too forgiving & would make up with him in a heartbeat if he had the chance. if his dad was ever like Alright. I Change My Mind About You. You Can Be My Son. he would totally just throw the past behind him & embrace him fully. he wants his dads love so bad he would accept it even if he knew it was fake as hell. i think its the #2 thing he wants most in the world, #1 being his mom back

& like his adhd is a big part of why hes so sensitive & afraid of rejection but part of it also is that deep down hes convinced its his fault his dad was so awful to him & hes afraid his friends partners etc will and/or do feel the same way & hes afraid that hes just fundamentally bad & unlikable. even tho he knows hes superficially cute & charming & charismatic hes afraid that anyone who gets too close will start to see whatever his dad saw & get tired of him. this does not stop him from forming relationships with his whole heart but it Does make him worry about it. hes good at hiding these feelings tho he doesnt wanna worry anybody & he knows its not fair to his friends to project that insecurity onto them (even tho talking about it would probably help) so he pretty much just keeps it bottled up. he will get therapy someday

- you and phinks were absentmindedly watching the t.v., when a nail polish commercial came on and immediately struck you with a certain idea. you smiled to yourself, and called out your bf’’s name, "hey phinkkkksss," you sang out, which caught his attention. "yeah?" he answered.

- "can I paint your nails?"

- he makes a grimace when you first ask him this, and by the looks of his face... he's ready to tell you a hard no. it's going to take a bunch of 'pretty pleases' and other ways of convincing for him to give in.

- but once he's thought about it, phinks will finally let you paint his nails.

- you tell him you're only gonna put clear polish on him, just so its not too ‘showy’. then again, phinks’ hands and nails are... a little roughed up so to say, which prompts you to think: why not just give him a whole manicure!

- once you start, phinks never realized he’d feel this relaxed by this process. he’s just sitting down watching you intently cut his nails, filing them down, shaping up his cuticles, while also thinking to himself, “is this why people love getting their nails down??”.

- plus he just lovesss all this attentive care you’re giving him!

- right as you were about to paint his pointer finger with the clear polish, he immediately stops you. “i changed my mind,” he says abruptly , “go paint ‘em however you want,” phinks then smiles. and nooo he totallllly didn’t say that to make the process longer noooo.

- but you smile at his request, and follow along with a green polish. phinks notices this and smiles, appreciating how you chose his favorite color to paint his nails :)

- “finished already?” phinks asks once he sees you start to dry them off. “Nope!” you say, and then immediately take his hand to plant a kiss on them, “but now i am.”

- he chuckles, and gives you a quick kiss on the cheek, while then eyeing the work you did. this whole manicure thing really wasn’t as bad as phinks thought. in the future, there might be a chance where phinks might suggest for you to do his nails again <3

✧.* feitan

- believe it or not, feitan actually enjoys watching you paint your nails. he finds the whole process of it so satisfying whenever you do.

- the precision of each individual stroke, along with the gratification he gets whenever you perfectly paint your nails is something he'll never get tired of (except when you mess up...)

- but one day after you were finished painting your nails and waiting for it to dry (of course he was there next to you), you brain lit up with a little idea.

- "how 'bout i paint your nails for a change fei?" you asked him, to which he just looked at you stoically.

- now feitan didn't give an immediate response right away... he just had this blank look to him, a look that would be almost impossible to decipher.

-"fine," feitan decides, which makes you happy and surprised to see. You search through the colors of your little bag filled with nail polishes, but immediately stop once feitan tersely says, "black" (no surprise tbh).

- so as you find the black sitting at the bottom of the bag, he puts his hands out toward you and you get the nail polish wand ready. the thing about feitan is that his hands aren't shaky or anything so its really easy to paint!

- as you precisely cover each nail, feitan literally finds everything SOO relaxing likeeee

- watching you do your nails is one thing but being the person getting their nails painted is another!! he loves the pampering feeling you're giving him, and though his usual bare expression says otherwise, he's actually thoroughly enjoying himself!

- once you're done and they’ve dried, feitan intently looks at all of them. now you might be nervous about what your boyfriend might say, but no no no he's looking at his nails like that because he LOVES it!!

- it's really adding to his look he thinks, and under his mask feitan has this cute smile on his face.

- he then pulls down his mask to give you a small kiss to your temple :) and as he notices that you haven't painted your nails yet, he's asking if he could paint yours black so that you guys can match.

✧.* shalnark

- definitely the most lenient of the four to allow you to paint their nails!

- So the minute shalnark jokingly asks, “what if you paint my nails someday,” you immediately take it as an opportunity to do it!! when you ask him what colors he wants, he just leaves it all to you so that you can surprise him (”pick whatever color you want, _____.”).

- now obviously you’re gonna take advantage of that opportunity... which leads you wanting to do the most extravagant nail design ever-

- each finger is gonna be some different color and different design, whether it be polka dots or stripes or glitter or gems... shal literally does not KNOW what he’s got into.

- and he even realizes this the minute you take out EVERRYY single color and little design accessory you’re gonna be using on him... for sure you know that your inner nail artist is come out so shal better come thru with a tip and everything LOL

- now as you start painting his nails, the colors you’re using are... questionable to say the least, and shalnark can’t help but make a jovial grimace when he see’s them.

- “that’s an— interesting design choice you’re going for, _____!” your boyfriend says oh-so cheerfully when he see’s how you’re doing his middle finger .

- “hm? i don’t see a problem with them?” you joked back giggling, as if you weren’t trying to recreate a portrait of shalnark literally onto his nail. spoiler alert: it looks like a giant glob.

- (listen, your intention is to have fun, not to make them look pretty!)

- so once you’re on your very last nail to paint, and shalnark has experienced every stage of grief after seeing how you did them, the minute you place those last gem stones onto his left-hand pinky is when you finally announce that you’re done!

- and the minute you give him that excited (and giggly) smile, he gazes over at your creation and you two just can’t help but to laugh.

- now shalnark hopes that chrollo doesn’t call a troupe meeting anytime soon, because its practically be impossible for him to remove them off from the amount of top coat you put on them. and noticing that your nails aren’t painted, nows your turn to experience the saaame treatment.

✧.* illumi

- the idea of you painting them actually came from a dream, in which you were decorating his nails with a shiny black paint on them. though you really weren’t sure how he was going to react, you decided to give it a try and ask illumi.

- now at first, your lover just stares at you with no trace of emotion found in his eyes. in his mind he was confused. he didn’t really see the purpose of painting them or anything. they were only a weapon, nothing more nothing less.

- but you explained to him that painting his nails was honestly just for fun, something you guys could try together!

- and so illumi takes this information with ease and allows you to paint his assassin nails (even though he still didn’t really get the hype with them...)

-when you start painting his longgg nails, he’s kinda just STARING at you the whole time... it’s a little pressuring because illumi’s gaze can be a little intense sometimes.

- everytime you make a teeny mistake, he might point it out 😭 saying stuff like “you smudged it” or “there’s a spot you missed”. and this isn’t him trying to be rude or anything, illumi’s just trying to help in his eyes.

- even though things feel quiet, deep down illumi actually really likes this whole process. illumi never really got any kind of attention growing up, so seeing you putting this much effort in something as little as painting his nails, it really makes him feel appreciated.

- so yes, he’s very much enjoying the process now :) even closing his eyes in relaxation as you continue down the line of nails. once you tap your hand, signaling that you’re finished, he opens his eyes again.

- “done already,” he asks, and as you nod, deep deep down Illumi feels a little disappointed (he was really enjoying himself after all)!

- the minute he looks down, he takes his new painted nail’s in. once again... cue that blank stare. does he like them?? does he hate them?? does he—

- “they look nice,” illumi finally says, making you let out a quiet sigh in relief because you honestly can never know with him...

- even though your boyfriend’s lack of words might suggest that he didn’t think much of them, deep down, Illumi was more than impressed! he really thought they looked nice :)) that, and every time he see’s them, illumi will just be reminded of you <3

already sent this to a couple of blogs that aint answered me yet, need someone to acknowledge and praise a bit. im so desperate to start my medical transition that i lifted a couple bottles of testosterone supplements from my local pharmacy. i hope it does something, anything for me. im hoping.

Hey anon. Kink gloves off im gonna talk to you real serious right now.

Ill just rip the bandaid off: that is not going to do what you want it to do (transition you). Testosterone supplements either do one of two things; decrease estrogen production on a very small level/ridiculously high dosage, or increase existing hormone production. Unfortunately, since we typically dont produce testosterone already, taking a t supplement does not work akin to hrt. Im sorry to tell you.

I was barred from HRT for a good while due to my families rejection of it, my healthcare not covering it, and only having 4 clinics in the state that would actually treat me (despite having branches all over the state.) It was miserable, i was misgendered everyday and mostly gave up on binding or doing anything. Anon if youre not doing good right now doing risky things out of desparation isnt going to help you. At best youll stressed yourself over something you now have to hide and at worst you get caught.

I do not know your situation but here are some broad things i can suggest to hopefully try and help you out/relieve any amount of dysphoria:

-im not sure if youre in the states and if so where but plannedparenthood is the usually referenced for a reason. I got to my HRT appointment and had no insurance and not enough money. So they lied about some stuff to get my fees waived. If it is legal where you are at least google you locations treatment pages/insurance options.

-there are simple forms of voice training you can do that do help lift spirits a bit. Im sure theres tons on youtube but my usual practice was cycling through specific syllables at the lowest pitch i could possible for a bit. So like, for the duration of a shower id be prattling off strings of noises like "Beng Bong, Heng Hong, Seng Song.." or "ka-ku-ki-ka-ku-ke-ka, ha-hu-hi-ha-hu-he-ha" trying tk do it in routine. You can laugh, i hope its funny.

-im not saying go hyperdrive workout routine but if you have the ability to be a bit more active some how i suggest it. I took a hour walk most days before i could start transitioning and it didnt change much but it made me feel more confortable.

-if working out is something you would wanna look into theres a ton of options for high protein foods/drinks that do help with muscle development (i used to be more into em when i started my transition.) Check if theres a place by you that does whey protein smoothies im so goddamn serious they taste so good and are the main reason i have Something Resembling Biceps

-i am behind a screen. I have a sort of idea of how i come off to my followers but take it from me i am 1 year into my hormones and its not been a very massive change at all. I look almost the same in my comparison pics, i hardly have facial hair, you realize quickly this is gonna take time. Which i mention as to say your transition will always be waiting for you and while right now it may seem out of reach or impossible i promise that will someday change.

-tip from me: dont shit where you eat. If youre gonna shoplift dont go to a pharmacy thats local to you, try to go somewheres you dont frequent. But for real stop stealing dick pills bro.

-i am taking this ask in good faith because i dont want to potentially shut this anon out, but if this is a troll or copypasta youre a piece of shit.

I need to know why and how you were anti-phannie from 2014-2016

alright here we go i get to talk about THIS shit now.

i was generally anti-rpf at that point, and honestly? i think it was for fair enough reasons as some people were a bit too eager about showing (general) youtubers stories they wrote about them sucking and fucking their friends. i think i was also pretty high and mighty about being a somewhat oldhead phannie tbh, like ugh do these gaming-channel-only people even know about dan being super edgy and offensive 🙄 and lowkey it was a lot of subtly misogynistic "i'm not like other girls" type shit like i was sooo much better than yall cuz i hadn't watched that video (yet.)

i was generally not into these sorts of fandoms to begin with. i wasnt on the superwhopotterlock side, i was on the homestuck/dangan ronpa/anime of the month side of tumblr, if that gives you an idea of what i was like lol. around 2014-15 i was very much in a community that is kinda similar to what you might see on twitter now, where if you had any interests in media that portrayed anything problematic, that means you are in full support of that problematic thing. if dan howell said something racist in 2010, it doesn't matter that he wasn't being racist in 2015 he's still racist and liking him makes you a racist etc. and of course, rpf is included in problematic topics. if you ship real people, even if said people say they don't mind it, you are a sick pervert and you should be in the loony bin for being so depraved. and if you write or read any fiction that has immoral acts, it means you support those acts in real life too and you are trying to normalize abuse and SA (yknow as if whitecishetpatriarchy hasnt normalized that enough) and you're a danger to children and you deserve to rot in prison (yknow as if a queer person writing stories about queer people hasnt heard that one before)

now here's the real kicker. in 2015-2017 i ran a game grumps fan blog where i did talk about shipping the grumps. "wait how were you anti-rpf if-" well have you ever heard of this thing called Lying? or perhaps even, Cognitive Dissonance? i HAD to run a separate blog for this interest, because if my friends knew i consumed slashfic about arin and danny they would stop being friends with me and think im this evil horrible monster etc. genuinely that was where my brain was at, and is a little bit the reason i decided to this day, to make my phannie accounts completely separate from my main accounts.

nowadays, none of my non-phannie friends actually give a fuck and i do occasionally talk about dnp being silly gay white boys w them! at this point i dont post about em on main just out of respect like "hey im sure you dont actually want to hear about british yaoi constantly regardless of our level of friendship so i'll keep it over here okay?"

also, yeah i grew out of thinking consuming media with deplorable acts makes me deplorable. my favorite tv show is hannibal. i know its shocking, but i dont actually support serial killer cannibals. i will say, i dont fuck with "pro/anti" language with regards to what is considered "problematic" or having that be an identity marker. i think that people are free to write fiction as they please so long as its all properly tagged for people who dont enjoy that kind of content to avoid. but i also think there can be and often are problems in the way these stories are written, and yeah if all the romance stories you read growing up involve some sort of force or danger, that CAN normalize this sort of action as inherent to romance stories/real life romance. but i think thats an issue with like, society at large, and it's not on an individual fic writer to be educating teens who read their dead dove fic despite the explicit rating and tags.

TL;DR: BASICALLY. I WAS A DUMBASS KNOW-IT-ALL BUT DW I GOT BETTER.

Pausing to say something actually: How child abuse is depicted so far in the show is very scary to me in how real it feels. To be a kid in those situations, to not understand the power you weild because an adult as manipulated you into believing that you're helpless? That the only person you can rely on is them, even as they're actively harming you? Brenner being aware of the harm that El can cause him but believing so strongly in the hold he has on her and therefore he is above consequence, above harm? fucking yucky The scene of him giving her the potted flower made my stomach sink. Felt a little too close to home I know that themes of abuse are really prevelant in this show and Its really interesting to see how it affects people different but especially El, someone who'se pretty fucking clearly autistic and shows a lot of the same symptoms that i did post abuse? (CANON MUSES) - i dunno man. i like 'em a little broken and a little fucked up. and a bit of a smartass with a soft heart under it all. that really applies to most my muses to some degree. reno started out as my fresh start after leaving a pretty terrible stint in another fandom. he was easy to approach or to approach others. he was a blank slate enough that i could be creative with crafting a background and development while still having a basis to work from. there also weren't several variations of him over decades of ever changing content via movies and comicbooks to narrow down from. and now he's practically straddling that canon vs oc line for me. this version of him is mine and mine alone. for sephiroth specifically, i'll be honest, i didn't really care too much about him for the longest time. mostly because he felt too empty and boring to me as a villain. so i didn't feel compelled to making up some background to fill in the gaps. then i played crisis core and that humanized him for me. but i still hesitated to actually write him. and then evercrisis came out with him as a teen. and just. i just think he's neat now. (OCs) - aw man, i love ocs so much. i have such a penchant for creative overflow and end up making them in batches. (usually all related to a single story or universe) but i know they can be a hard sell if they aren't already aligned to a fandom. which is totally understandable! i really have too many ocs that i'd love to write, especially in ff7 verses, but its hard to juggle them all. a few of them still have blogs, so maybe one day i can bully some people into writing with them. (:<

its not that i dislike writing anything in particular. on the contrary. i would love to write more questionable content. though i'd prefer to write these less savory themes with people i'm most comfortable with and understand that its just exploring things in writing and not some fucked up reflection of myself.

ɪꜱ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ʏᴏᴜ ʀᴇᴀʟʟʏ ᴇɴᴊᴏʏ ᴡʀɪᴛɪɴɢ?

what i really love writing are moments where characters who don't know love or trust is open and vulnerable with someone. they're opening up and learning to really trust someone for the first time. they're showing the real person hidden within. the actual moment or connection doesn't matter. it could be friends, lovers, enemies, or whatever. tho i will admit that i do enjoy writing some raunchy smut from time to time.

ʜᴏᴡ ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴄᴏᴍᴇ ᴜᴘ ᴡɪᴛʜ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴꜱ?

a lot of them start as mundane thoughts about whatever numdane thing i might be doing in that moment. cooking, cleaning, eating, whatever. then i wonder how that character would react in that same situation. then the thoughts and what-ifs only grow in complexity and depth. or more abstract and philosophical depending on mood and development.

ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡʀɪᴛᴇ ɪɴ ꜱɪʟᴇɴᴄᴇ ᴏʀ ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴘʟᴀʏ ᴍᴜꜱɪᴄ?

music is an absolute no. it gets me distracted. but i also can't do silence. to i meet in this weird middle where i que up a bunch of random videos on youtube into a playlist and let it play in the background. most of it is like, reddit comps read by some soothing voice. i don't have to actually think about what i'm listening to. sometimes i'll get real lucky and listen to some deep dive into a character i'm writing and it gets the thoughts flowing.

ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴘʟᴀɴ ʏᴏᴜʀ ʀᴇᴘʟɪᴇꜱ ᴏʀ ᴡɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇᴍ?

its a little bit of both. a goal is in mind, whether its my goal or a shared goal with my partner, but its something to reach. however, the actual journey to that point doesn't matter. that gets winged to hell and back. even with a goal in mind it can and sometimes does change in the end. and i'm perfectly okay with that. i like seeing the trajectory change over time one post at a time.

ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴇɴᴊᴏʏ ꜱʜɪᴘᴘɪɴɢ?

very much so! both romantic and non. because shipping isn't just romance, but that deep connection between two characters. i try to not focus too much on romance, i swear. i enjoy ans strive to give my characters a variety of relationships.

The Doctor Is In...

A/N: Hi! First fic! So I've had this in my head for a while and I was inspired by @a-edgar-allan-hoe headcanons of a doctor for 141 and I put my own spin on it. This fic was kinda the reason I made a side-blog for MW because I wanted a dedicated blog for this oc/reader. Also a Recce is the colloquial term for the South African Special Forces. Their Selection is one of the hardest in the world to get into. It consists of a week of sitting in a room, not eating, drinking, or sleeping. Nowadays there's only 1 or two people out of 120 that get through the Selection process nevermind the school training. Pretty brutal. If you guys want to know more about this character/reader please let me know! I'm dropping subtle hints that I want to continue on this tangent.

Summary: Task Force 141 is finally blessed by getting an actual physician on their team. But something's off when Price throws down a file on the guy...

Warnings: Discussions of violence; Suicide ideation (only briefly)

“A doctor? For 141?” came the gruff grumble from under Ghost’s balaclava. “One from South Africa, no less?”

“What’s the matter with a South African?” asked Soap in his Scottish accent.

“Nothin’. It’s this one’s track record I’m scrutinizin’. Says they’re SASFA, and a psychologist. This one can’t make up its mind,” Ghost explained as he paged through the docket thrown down by Price.

“Can’t they go together?” Gaz piped up, leaning over to take a paper.

“A Recce and a sound mind never go together…” Price stated, folding his arms when his team grabbed papers from the file.

“Steamin’ bloody Jesus…” Soap muttered with a deep frown etched into his brows.

“You sure you want this one, amigo? It says they need ‘to be kept on a tight leash’... We sure they’re a doctor?” Alejandro looked back at the Captain. His face did not show anything besides the seemingly angry furrow that permanently resided on his face.

“What do they look like? Where’s the photo?” Gaz questioned, paging through the pages for the little photo that comes with most of the soldiers’ files.

“There’s only one… And they wear a mask in it…” Alejandro sighed with the photo in hand.

“Don’t tell me we got another Ghost…” Soap griped, looking over his comrade’s shoulder.

He assumed it had been the doctor after seeing every other face redacted. But he almost wanted to laugh. The man was short, hilariously so. They carried an AK-47 and it looked like they were smiling from under the green balaclava. It almost would’ve looked cute if their pant legs weren’t stained in what looked to be blood.

“They’re an asset. A great one at that. I’ve seen ‘em stitch up a soldier in thirty seconds while under fire. And they still killed the bastards that did the shooting as they were bandagin’ the soldier up,” Price bragged, as if he was talking about his own child. An information piece they can push on later.

“So just a really good field medic?” Soap concluded with a shrug, not able to keep the question from his voice.

“Nope. A doctor…” Ghost sighed, throwing the PhD in front of the Sergeant. He would’ve poked fun at Soap’s flinching if it weren’t for the Captain speaking up.

“They’re coming tomorrow at 0700, I expect you lot to be on your best behaviour. And to wipe your assumptions on them. The docket was only meant to familiarise yourselves with what they can do, not their personality.”

Murmurs of affirmation rung through the group, no one speaking up on their reservations on the new guy coming into their ranks. For all they knew, this dude could still prove his worth here. They could really use a doctor for the missions where they couldn’t patch themselves up and they could use another experienced fighter on the field.

They did their daily rounds after the Captain dismissed them, still with questions on their minds about the doctor. From the pages talking about their career as a doctor, it seemed like they were well-liked by both their fellow officers and civilians alike. Not that that means anything, they could be a really good actor.

Soap slumped down into a chair, holding his MRE packet close to him. Not a minute later and Gaz sat next to him with Alejandro following. They gave each other knowing looks before digging into their meals.

“What do you think he’ll be like?” Gaz asked, looking over at Alejandro.

“I don’t know, but from his files, he looks like a mad man. I don’t want to be near that cabrón if he’s gonna be on the field with us,” Alejandro responded, shaking his head and pursing his lips.

“You should’ve seen the operation photos. He’s ruthless from what I can tell. I’m with Alejandro on this one,” Soap agreed as he packed away for the night.

“And Ghost is better?” Gaz retaliated with a raised brow.

“We know Ghost. We don’t know him,” Alejandro said simply, effectively ending the discussion on the doctor.

Her nerves shot through her fingers, every bone in her body telling her to ‘stop this now, go back home’. The Captain made it clear to her that this was her choice, that she could always refuse if she didn’t feel like she could do it.

Her heart didn’t allow her to refuse. She knew she can’t stay away from this type of life, no matter how hard she tried to.

She’s tried filling it with a void of helping paediatrics and the elderly. She’s tried filling it by helping her family’s business grow. She’s tried filling it with more and more ways to make money to leave for her family should she ever be KIA. Morbid dreams visited her at night telling her that it would be for the health of her family if she’s gone.

A dry chuckle escaped her and rang through the empty cabin of the helicopter she agreed to take. That dream had scared her into trying to understand her own twisted mind. She bitterly remembered being overjoyed at the fact that she had, for the first time since that Selection test, been afraid. Those five years opened up many doors for her. She didn’t take any of them.

Her eyes landed on the briefing package next to her, taunting her of her new life. Casting a glance at her phone made her realise she had more than enough time to catch up on every one of her teammates. A growl. Snatching up the files and telling her mind to shut up, she got to work on reading. Task Force 141 awaited her.

The landing woke her up, as she would vehemently claim when Captain Price went into the aircraft to welcome her to the base. And for someone that had the sleep of the dead, she woke up pretty quickly, jumping up and greeting her future Commander.

“Captain! It’s good to see you again,” she smiled, hoping he wouldn’t see the strain of trying to pull such an expression.

“Likewise Badger. Thought I’d never be able to convince ya to come out here,” he retorted with a chuckle.

“Y’know me sir. I like to stay away,” she said with a shrug.

“But you still came ‘round.”

“Can’t leave some missions to just a couple of men, can I?”

“You’ll find them quite capable…”

“I know, sir. You do have a knack for things like this. Or people.”

She almost froze when she saw the hangar approaching them. Her heart leapt at her chest, giving way to an almost silent gasp. Price looked back at her. His moustache moved into an upward curve, reassuring her that none of them will judge her, that he will handle the negativity if they dare show it to her.

She grimaced back, taking a deep breath as she trailed behind him. A similar scene to this played out in her head. It was just after she got taken into the SAS, her little frame following Price like a very lost and scared puppy. She would have brought it up to him if it weren’t for the group of men standing in front of the door to the hangar.

They were focused on the Captain, which bought her lungs a few vital seconds to bring oxygen back to her brain again. She stood behind him, cemented into her mind where she tried to calm down. She couldn’t tell you where the onslaught of nerves comes from. But her logical brain piped up and stated that she is still grappling and accepting the fact that her future is changing. At a rapid pace.

“Come on out, little one,” Price coaxed, moving out the way to give his team a visual on their new doctor.

Her eyes widened, caught in headlights as she surveyed them all and trying her best not to swallow so hard when her eyes landed on who she assumed to be Simon “Ghost” Riley. He was a giant. One of the first she’s ever cowered before. She took another breath to prepare her voice to project.

“He’s a woman?!” came a bellow in a Scottish accent.

“A woman?!” They all synchronised, except for the giant that hung at the back.

That punched her in the gut. Now she lost her train of thought and was left floundering in the deep end. Unfortunately, her way of keeping her head above the water was to crack a few jokes.

“U-uh… yes. I do have breasts and l-last time I checked I… I do still have the traits of a woman…” she breathed, glancing down at her chest and the now flustered expressions of the men. “I a-assume you read my file so um. I’m uh. I’m just gonna answer what I can assume y-you all would like to a-ask… Um, yes, I did rip a man’s head off with my hands, no I can't recommend it because it makes a–um, a big mess and considering that at the area of where I fought at the time, I-I could’ve contracted the blood-borne disease, HIV.

“N-No I don’t sleepwalk and no I-I can’t kill in my sleep. No I… I am not so unhinged that I will slice the, the throat of any person that looks at me w-weirdly. I only became a psychologist for my well-being and found out I enjoyed helping people… I… I uhm. F-for right now, I will only be a practising physician and psychologist for Task Force 141. Sh-Should the need ever arise that I c-come onto the field, I-I take orders seriously and will act on them with no remorse because… Because I have been trained to do so. That w-would explain the phrase, ‘must be kept on a tight leash’. O-okay. Did I answer everything or is there more?” She finished with a sigh, releasing her shoulders from their tense posture.

Price wordlessly nodded at her to put her mind at ease. She responded with a ghost of a nod and looked back at the team. She would have laughed at their wide eyes and closed off stances. She could have sworn she saw the man she assumed to have the name Gaz gape his mouth only to shut it again.

“I’m guessing you’ve had to answer those questions before, chiquita?” The man she assumed to be Alejandro Vargas asked with a frown.

“Quite a few times,” she gave a dry chuckle and shrugged. “Mostly from the younger soldiers.”

“Sorry ma’am…” the man with the Scottish accent apologised, looking down at his feet as if his mother just scolded him for being rude

“Yeah, sorry for makin’ assumptions ma’am,” Gaz echoed the man’s sentiment.

“There’s no need for that, I’m sure you’re all wonderful folks once I know you better,” she laughed, waving her hand to dismiss their guilty looks. Wait… she laughed?

“Right then. Physical exams will start at 0900 once the Doctor’s set up,” Price stepped in, clapping his hands to get the men’s attention. “That’s fine right, kid?”

She gave a curt nod to her Captain and then to the rest of the team. With that, the debriefing of their new doctor ended, leaving them with more than just embarrassment. Her posture and mannerisms did not reflect her statistics in her file. Nor did her seemingly normal explanation give way to what she was—is like as an operative on the field.

13- How much planning do you do before writing? - Almost none, which is unfortunate for anyone who would like me to update anything in a timely manner. I know a vague direction i want something to go in, or I know certain scenes I want to happen later down the line. I kinda just write to connect a vague story or concept. i almost never have an ending in mind; thats kinda why i favor AUs... theyre stories from a universe, and I can keep sharing stories as I think of them. Unless its a oneshot, or a published fic... then i know the beginning and a vague ending. Coven AU has a ton of lore because I drank a lot of coffee one day and had a notepad. Most lore for any au i have just relies on me going 'oh thats a GOOD idea ill remember that'.... reader, i have severe ADHD that i do not manage in any way. I dont remember that.

18 - What's one of your favorite lines you've written in a fic? - Oh boy. Probably none of them, i dont love my like... writing style? It isn't pretty, just plain. So i suppose its only, ' “You woke me up. And you’re making my bed smell like tequila. Why would I move over for you?” She mumbled, moving over. ' from roommates AU. Because Dubchaeng loves each other.

“You tried to hit them first.”

Jihyo grabbed for her as she took a determined step forward, calling out in what must have been the same language they were speaking.

Ever the diplomat, Jihyo thought. Forever offering the olive branch and trying to get herself killed.

She remained ready to summon another strike.

22 - Do you know how your fic will end before you write it - Not usually. Im very bad at endings. If its a fill for an AU i just write until it feels correct to stop/I run out of ideas. The overall AUs i have no clue how theyd end, maybe a vague direction for some. I do know how my one fic is going to end though, if i ever finish it (i 99% will not im so sorry)

25 - Have you ever made yourself upset with your own writing - Yea, in that I dont like it and get frustrated when my fingers wont just type shit. I dont think ive written anything too sad.

27 - is there a fic you were nervous to post? - I was nervous to share baby SMC au. I thought it was a cute concept but didnt know if anyone else would. Or if they'd find it weird i made SMC so young.

How to make F/GO sprite comics

Saw in one of the tags someone wondering about how we make these, so here ya go! A tutorial on how we personally make these things! We'll try to keep it simple for ya dw.

First thing's first, the most important part: the actual dialogue box.

We keep this on roughly 80% opacity, but you could go a bit lower if you wanted I think.

Then, if you want a dialogue option, here's this bit too, just for good measure:

That's probably among the hardest to get your hands on, but also this is assuming tumblr doesn't fuck up the transparency. If it does, I'll point out where you can crop 'em yourself later.

Next up: the font! It uses something like FOT-SkipStd-B, which you may or may not already have installed on your computer, so double check before downloading anything ofc.

Now, we just kind of eyeballed the exact placement and font size, but we use 19pt font and 125% line spacing and it looks pretty alright.

But, just leaving the text as-is will still look super flat and jarring, so you gotta add a bit of a gradient effect to it as well.

It might go by a different name in your program, but in Krita, all our gradient bars are set to inherit alpha (transparency) from the layers below it in its group, meaning the "Gradients" layer folder will only be visible over anything solid from the Nameplate, dialogue option, and Text Box layers here (aka, it'll only show up over any text itself).

And that should cover most everything for the text! Next up, the expression sheets!

You can usually find most any character's expression sheet from the images section of the fgo wiki, where you can then slap it down, do some select/cut/pasting of each expression off the sheet, and line it up with the original sprite itself like so:

We find that numbering them and giving a short description of what expression it is helps a lot when digging for the exact face you want. Turns out, at least the first 4-6 expressions off most everyone's sheet are gonna be the same general emotions too, btw! Some have duplicates though for simplifying coding things across ascensions, so be aware of that as well.

And finally, the backgrounds. This one's kind of spread all over the place, so I'll drop a bunch of links and you can take your pick.

First is the Kyuburu user blog off the fgo wiki that has a lot of the Part II onward story/events in a pretty well organized fashion that's easy to look through and find what you need. Only problem is it doesn't seem to have much of the earlier stuff, so you'll need to look somewhere else for that.

Second is this asset dump that I don't remember where I grabbed it from, but has a lot of stuff that's pretty well organized, but only up to LB 1 I think. When I said earlier about if tumblr fucked up the transparency, file 3 under User Interface has the raw asset sheet it's from, so you can scrap it together if need be.

This asset dump from this thread seems to be more up-to-date though (through LB 6.3 I think?) so you'll probably have more luck with this one for your general needs.

And finally, if you're looking for something harder to find (like the more recent JP content), you can go digging around the Atlas Academy Database and look for the cutscene scripts of what scene you're wanting, and it should have links to the BG and the expression sheet of whatever's there at that moment. It might be a little messier to dig through though, so give the other stuff a look first before resorting to this.

And that should be mostly it! The most difficult part is just getting things initially set up, and each expression sheet takes a hot minute to get sorted out, but I just do all my work in the same file so you can just re-use everything you pull together and you'll be set.

It's pretty fun and easy once you get the hang of it, so best of luck and have fun!

hello, marr! i was wondering if you could recc any of those queer-character-shounens that you mentioned in passing? i'm sure i will probably have read some of them myself lol but i am always up for new recommendations

(also have you heard of call of the night, by any chance? that's a really fun shounen i've been enjoying recently where one of the central themes is literally the aroace spectrum [and also vampires XD])

Going to address the last question first, because it's quicker: Nope!

As for the other, I'm not going to necessarily going to "rec" them, but I'm going to mention some. Spoilers ahoy!

As for things I'm going to exclude: Any of that "super intense shonen protagonist and their best friend/rival relationship even though one or both has a canon female love interest" because that's extremely common but not what we're talking about. Sorry, Naruto, begone. And I'll also exclude things like GetBackers, because they are canonically interested in women despite being advertised, uh, like this.

I'll probably include some seinen, too, because despite seinen generally getting to cover more series and adult topics because of its older demographic, it's still a male-targeted genre and wowwwww the pin ups in the seinen manga sometimes--people assume it targets a similarly un-queer audience.

And obviously limited to stuff I can think of and know.

Let's get started!

HunterXHunter. Alluka (Killua's younger sister) is a trans girl! Everyone in the family refers to her as a boy or a son or a brother, except...Killua, who is also the only person in the family she gets along with. It's really not subtle. There's also whatever Hisoka is, but. Well. We hate Hisoka on this blog, okay?

Dr. STONE. Look, I just watched this one so I'm thinking of it, but there's basically no way Senku isn't aro ace, and this is actually a really common opinion, given that when someone said they could fall in love with him, his response was, "Please don't." Senku has zero interest in romance or sex or any of it, and just cares intensely for his friends. The aro ace community is claiming him, sorry. I know the anime hasn't covered everything, but I cannot imagine him ever getting a love interest, either. It's been repeated.

Akame ga Kill has a gay man on Night Raid. Spoiler, but everyone on Night Raid dies, so he hardly gets a happy ending, but it's not like that's unique to him.

Nabari no Ou is technically a shonen, having been published in a shonen magazine (that also published things like...well, Black Butler, so annnnnyway), and the detueragonist, Yoite, is intersex and has a...probably homosexual...relationship with the protag. It reads that way, anyway.

Luffy from One Piece is confirmed by the author to be ace, and there's a trans dude introduced lately that everyone's been arguing about, hasn't there? Yamato? (I don't like One Piece)

Soul Eater: Crona is nonbinary

Gurren Lagann: Leeron is gay, and although it's not the most tastefully handled, it's definitely canon. It's seienen or shonen, one of 'em.

Boys Run the Riot is a seinen about a trans boy

The manga adaptation of Tiger & Bunny was actually published in a seinen magazine, and *waves at self-identified okama Nathan Seymour, the most-aggressively-nonbinary-chracter*. Plus I'm not over Kotetsu's joke about how Nathan isn't his type because he's "too tall" and not any...um...gender concerns.

My Brother's Husband is published in a seinen manga, and what do you think it's about, come on here.

So anyway, yeah. There's a list to start, just from my own off-hand knowledge without really looking anything up. I'm sure there's been more scholarly and researched discussions on this.

and the point is really: YuuMori isn't unique in the existence of queer characters, queer themes, an unusually queer or female audience for shonen, or anything. While I love it, it's not the only series that's done it. It's not the first.

I saw someone say it "rewrote the rules" for queer characters in shonen earlier today, which is what that comment earlier was about. No, it didn't. I love it, but it really, truly did not. It's building on a long legacy of characters.

I'm an artist and writer! I write original stuff, but the only stories I've actually managed to finish have been fanfics. I finished a whole trilogy of fanfics but can't focus long enough on my original stuff to finish anything.

I am an avid daydreamer and I often forget about my surroundings because of it and I feel bad because it makes me oblivious to a lot of things. A lot of my stories come from my daydreams.

One of these stories is Foranon! I'd love to give a synopsis on it, but there's literally so much that would need explaining that I don't have time to put it all down here. It's mostly just a worldbuilding project right now with a narrative worming its way through it. I'll have to make an infodump post about it and I'll link it here eventually. For now, take the blog I made for it that I never touch @foranongame

I also have Balance of Shadows! Which is one of the many fanfics I mentioned in the paragraph above. It's a Zelda AU where I decided to mess with the canon timeline into something I find cohesive. The characters in this AU are kinda the same in Foranon as Foranon is basically just me repurposing fan characters for something more original.

I'm also hoping to return to my story Ghost Freaks! Which is a comic I've been planning for 4-5 years now. I published the prologue of the comic back in 2020 and then motivation killed me so I never touched it again. Hoping to revamp it and start on it again soon! Hi, as someone who has also dabbled in bookbinding as a hobby, I'd be super interested in any insights you have in typesetting in MS Word. You mentioned that you don't usually talk about it on here, so if you have a different blog a post along those lines would fit better, I'd appreciate being pointed in its direction

Hi! By on here I actually meant on tumblr, or online as a general thing. I talk my family's ears off about it irl but the post I made yesterday is the first time I've ever really talked about making books online.

I am far from an expert on this. I made my first book a little over a year and a half ago and have since made a grand total of five books, working on #6 right now, and a lot of what I've learned about typesetting I picked up from r/bookbinding over on reddit (I don't have an account there, I just read other people's posts). I wanted to link the tutorial I used but I can't find it in my bookmarks so I think my browser ate it.

I'm not sure how much you already know and I've never written a tutorial before, so some of this may be too detailed, but here's the parts I think are important:

-Book fold is the setting you need to make signatures. In the version of Word that I have it's under Layout, the first box that says Margins Orientation Size etc. Click the little box in the corner of that section and you'll get a popup where you can set custom margins. Set the orientation to landscape and the Pages dropdown to Book Fold. You'll need to set Sheets per Booklet (right under that dropdown) before you print because the default is "all", but I like to do this at the end when I know how many pages the text is.

-Sheets per booklet is how many actual pieces of paper are in the signature. If you tell it 4, the lowest setting, it will give you signatures of 1 piece of paper. 8 is 2 papers that nest like proper book pages, 12 is 3 papers, etc. No one told me this and my first book of like 50 pages had 12 signatures in it when I was expecting it to have 3 or 4. I got to practice stitching but it was ridiculous.

-Size 12 font is too big for most books, unless you want Large Print. I like size 11. Footnotes and page numbers should be a little smaller so I use size 10 for those.

-If you're going to trim the edges, leave extra space in the top, bottom, and outer margins. If you have page numbers or footnotes in the header or footer, you can adjust how far they are from the top and bottom of the page. Go to add the header and at the bottom of the dropdown for it is an option for "edit header". If you click this it will give you a toolbar at the top of the screen with new options; the last one on the right is "header from top" and "footer from bottom". If you leave it standard Word will put them in the space you intended to trim off, regardless of what you set your margins to.

-The tutorial I used talked about the gutter, which is the space in the middle of the book where it runs into the fold. I have not found that I needed to have a gutter, and setting the inside margins works well enough for that so your words aren't hidden in the seam. I think this comes into play more with longer books, or books that have rounded and backed spines. I haven't rounded or backed anything I've made yet so I can't speak about that.

-You can format tables of contents in Word, there are templates, but I think they look like corporate expense reports so I don't use them. I usually do the front matter (title page, contents, author's notes, etc.) in a separate document so I can add the right number of blank pages and not worry about having page numbers on the title page. For tables of contents I make a numerical list. I like 'em simple.

-If you can, Word allows you to make custom templates for anything you want. Once I had settings I liked I made a template and saved it so I don't have to reset the margins and stuff every time I make a new book. The only caveat here is remembering to hit Save As instead of Save the first time you save your work.

What ideas came from when I was little?

Not a ton have stuck but mainly the ideas of monarchy and a royal family because it's (on its surface) easier to grasp than having presidents and whatnot, and given that I don't even understand my own government model and fail to grasp exactly how it's structured or care to I think having a united kingdom over united states is just easier for me to work with (not American slander I know my country isn't the best but jesus christ is it annoying)

Another would be the concept of elemental orientation/powers/beings, is just fun to have character with fire powers

Estimate how much art I post online and how much I keep to myself

As of now most of my online posting is very limited, I just don't draw as often and when I do I don't post it mostly because nobody outside our friend group would understand and honestly I don't have much of a following anyway that would care whether or not I'm posting, and I'm not active in any fandoms so that doesn't help either

So as of now like 1% of my art is online, 50% between me and Jules and 49% just in our group, I know that sounds like piles of art is hidden from public view but really it's like a couple handfuls of drawings a month for me because of how I work

Favorite piece of clothing to draw

Shoes, I just like how they look and while I'm not that kind of artist where most of the focus is on how wacky the shoes the character is wearing nor do I know how to draw complex designer looking ass shoes that you wear with a Supreme shirt and basketball shorts I just like shoes man they're pretty neat

There's definitely some people who'd fit that description but I can't think off the top of my head, if I wanna be salty I'd say any artists who wipe excess paint off on a canvas and then sell it for more money than it should be worth just out of annoyed admiration but that's not here or there

Nothing impressive, I've done some art competition but for fun and with no actual stakes like the best art earns a limo ride to McDonald's, just a custom emoji in a discord server ykno

Artfight could be counted but only for one year and I'm not doing it anymore because it's exhausting for me even though there's so many good characters to draw and I appreciate the art I receive of my own characters

As for things like zines alongside the fact I don't know what the fukc they are or what they entail I'm not that good or consistent of an artist to do anything comic or collaborative (collabs with friends don't count I love those)

What piece of mine do I think is underrated

Eh, I don't think that highly of my art and especially older pieces, not to say I'm a terrible artist obviously I have skill but I'm also not the kind to be salty over the fact a drawing didn't get the attention I wanted it to, a partial reason I don't post much anymore because I don't expect it'll be noticed so why bother, it's easier anyway to get the same good feeling from showing my friends

So no none of my art is underrated or overrated, really there's not much rating going on in my art because I'm such a small blog lmao
