How would each of them react to someone being homophobic/transphobic towards them? 2. uhhh how would they react if they saw their parents? especially the ones that don't like/have never met parents (i was gonna put something else for the second one but uhhh i frogor uh oh)

Ok first question, how would they react to someone being queerphobic to them?

Eddie: “mhm… sure…” he does not care. He deosnt really listen to people in the first place, the second you start trying to offend him he just tones you out. He does not give half a shit. Maybe if you keep talking.. a fuck will fall into his hand!

Poppy: being queerphobic to her?? Eh. Who cares. She lived through a homophobic cult and also bigoted parents, shes got tough skin. Being queerphobic to her children? PREPARE TO CATCH THESE TALONS BIIIITCH

Poppy: shes long gotten over her fear of her parents. She’s happy and thats all that matters, she’ll happily tell off her parents like a GIRLBOSS YEAAAHHH happily explain how she escaped the cult they sent her too and how happy she is rn

Julie: uhm.. Julie’s parents are dead. Next question. Lmao ok but fr if she like.. came back to life she’d be so happy :3 she, and all the other joyfuls, were raised by a single mom and Julie got all her “men are trash, defend urself, never be afraid to punch a man” type ideology from her mom and her mom was super accepting and she misses herrr :((

Sally: now you may think Sally has a terrible relationship with her parents.. but she doesnt :3 shes unable to see her mom (for agoraphobic, mental health, and also legal reasons) but she loves her a lot. Her mom did sort of raise her in shitty conditions, but Sally doesn’t blame her at all and misses her a lottt wah

He’d probably be happier then he should to meet them, but most definitely get gaslit by his parents :( like they have what Barnaby thinks is a normal conversation but really isnt.. someone stop it q-p

I think culturally the Kingdom is homophobic even outside of Ingrid being well Ingrid if you look at all the queer characters from the kingdom either explicit or implied all of them are referred to as not fitting into the society, on the explicit side you have Mercedes who was born in the empire and only adopted by a kingdom merchant when she was older, and you have Yuri who turns his back on the kingdom to live underground on the implicit side you have Catherine who says she no longer fits (1)

this really isnt a conversation meant for the inbox, but okay anon, I’ll bite. dont know what inspired you to send this to me (at least, right now and not like. when i talked about homophobic ingrid way back when) but I’ll bite.

the FIRST thing i want to tackle before i respond to this as a whole:

this.. caught me by surprise. why hadn’t i heard about this before? like i heard about dorothea and edelgard’s romantic undertones in the japanese version, i heard about ferdinand and hubert’s ending being romantic in the japanese version, but i didnt hear about canonical bi sylvain? so i asked some friends for the source and maybe you should do a little research on things yourself before you trust second hand information like this, especially if its coming from Ingrid of all characters.

In the english version, she says he hit on a scarecrow. the direct translation she says he hit on a man in a dress. now let’s take a second here to discuss how this does not make sylvain “q*eer”...

going off how common this trope is (at least in western media), when a guy is caught hitting on a “cross dresser” its because he only saw them from behind. no “feminine” features to be seen other than a dress and long hair. this is not a man hitting on another man, this is a man hitting on someone he mistook as a woman. and, for all we know, the “man” ingrid mentions wasn’t a cross dresser but actually a trans woman. this entire thing is one giant transphobic joke! transphobic ingrid for the win!!!!

and now onto how i feel about the other lions being “implied” gay or bi or trans.

disclaimer: everyones allowed their headcanons, but going so far as to say intelligent systems intentionally put the implication in is a big stretch and thats what im talking about specifically when i discuss them being “explicitly or implied” lgbt

look at all the q*eer characters from the kingdom either explicit or implied

well first you didnt mention annette or ashe 🤔 they dont fit in as much as the others do but okay. hapi is from faerghus too but we’re not gonna discuss what happened to her either? and im not even gonna say a WORD about the “explicitly q*eer” part because i dont count mercedes being a bi option as an explicit bisexual character to begin with. I’ll talk more about her in a minute.

ive talked about ingrid being canonically homophobic before. I’ll link that here so i can make this post slightly shorter.

Felix being out of place, in general, is derived from Glenn’s death. He, understandably, despises his father for how he treated the death of a beloved son and brother. He despises that Glenn’s death forced him into a role he did not want. He doesn’t want to be like Glenn, so he does things his own way, and his way is being incredibly blunt with people and being a rude little bitch just in general. as for his behavior around sylvain, he just hates how noisy and nosy he is and that he doesnt work as diligently as himself. thats not because sylvain is bi.

Dimitri and Dedue.. where do i even begin with your supposed gay implications? You’re right, it has a lot to do with xenophobia and racism. in fact, thats literally all it is! the people of Faerghus talk shit about Dimitri because he thinks the people of Duscur were innocent, because he doesn’t resent them for the death of the king and his father. the people of Faerghus hate that a Duscurian is within 5 feet of their crown prince at all times. because what if hes secretly evil? what if he kills our prince when we’re not looking? is our prince crazy for letting his father’s murderer so close to him? as for Dimitri’s behavior around sylvain, he has concerns that his playboy lifestyle will cause issues for the Gautier name. literally what else would happen when your a noble openly playing with half the hearts of an entire nation.

also.. dimitri/dedue? really? their relationship is solely one large White Savior Trope. that shit ain’t healthy. Dedue feels obliged to serve Dimitri because he’s kept him safe from the kingdom’s hateful gaze. Dimitri may want Dedue to stop being so formal, but Dedue is fucking afraid to do anything else because if he acts too out of line with the crown prince, the people of Faerghus will call for his head (even more).

Mercedes has a lot going on that makes her out of place. firstly, she was born in adrestia. When her father died, her mother remarried to Barron Bartels and had Emil, which was now bad news for the two because Bartels wanted a child with a crest. so now with Emil in the picture, these two were expendable. it can be assumed their life was a living hell because what else would it be for women in medieval times. after she and her mother left Bartels behind, presumably to hide from him, she was a noble raised as a commoner in Faerghus. her adoptive father wanted nothing but the best for her, so she enrolled in teh magic academy and then garreg mach. With the free DLC that adds Jeritza, we learn that Bartels wanted another child with a crest and decided that Mercedes would be the mother. he had deliberately sought her out and found the church she was hiding at (though, jeritza does kill him before he can even reach her).

as for Yuri, i don’t know enough about the Ashen Wolves to go into detail about this but im pretty sure his being out of place comes from the fact hes a criminal? also isn’t his mother listed a prostitute in the game? i’m pretty sure thats what makes him out of place, just sayin’.

All in all it just suggests that the Kingdom is not down with the lgbt

second, I just spent like an hour debunking that blue lions is implied as q*eer, but with how racist and xenophobic Faerghus is, I would not be surprised if they were homophobic too! but I guess we’ll never know because we have no explicitly gay characters in Three Houses. None of the characters talk about how they feel disconnected from family or society because of sexuality, only because of the statuses they were born with. a bi option means shit in the face of representation when none of them talk about being bisexual.

sorry but im actually so tired of ace people comparing aphobia to biphobia rn so rant: saying a BIROMANTIC BISEXUAL has hetero (emphasis on hetero) privilege is absolutely NOT the same as saying a HETEROROMANTIC ASEXUAL has hetero privilege its not even a LITTLE comparable one is absolutely just biphobia and the other is just the truth, regardless of whether ace and aro people “belong” in the community anyways like do people not actually get this? yes nasty biphobes will always say bi/pan/etc people are faking or want attention or are benefitting from hetero privilege but theyre still sga we still have to come out to people almost every day of our lives. we still have to justify our sexuality almost constantly, to the gay community if were in a “hetero” relationship, to straight people if were in a “gay” one. people still feel entitled to question our sexuality, to tell us well choose eventually, to ask if we wanna have a threesome with them and their partner. an ace person doesnt have to do this or experience this. a straight ace person can date whoever they want and they dont need to disclose that theyre ace, that they arent having sex, or dont want sex, or are sex repulsed or ANYTHING about how thy experience and act on sexual attraction. were still subject to the same fetishization and over sexualization as gay and lesbian and trans individuals. every bit of our life is still seen as a product for straight folks to consume. we still cant always feel safe, we still end stuck in the closet for fear of being fired, sent to conversion therapy, and fuck, for being killed. we still lose friends over it, lose family. i really just do not think straight ace people understand what it means to be lgbt, in any form. like, i truly believe thats the jist of this discourse. and a straight ace will never get it, bc they havent lived it. and they never will. and tbh, i absolutely dont mind straight aces being in the lgbt community! if they feel safe and included there, fine. but yall dont understand it, or its inception, and you arent entitled to it. im still not out to most of my family because im afraid that my grandparents, who raised me for almost half my life, would disown me if they found out i liked girls. that they would never speak to me again. its a real fear for me, not one created by scare tactics, because theyve said theyd do it before, since i was a little girl. even though im dating a guy right now. when my first girlfriend brought me flowers, my aunt found out. the next time i visited, i had to sit through a conversation full of homophobic slurs, i had to hear about how gross my girlfriend was for liking me. how disgusting. how she would go to hell. how gays are freaks of nature. now that i have a boyfriend, i get to hear about how crazy that was from my “accepting” parents. how could i ever like a girl? isnt it crazy? wasnt that so weird of me? dont i think its “gross” now that ive found the right guy? and i get that asexual people experience shitty stuff, even het ones. there are people who will tell them theyre weird, or theyre broken. but i almost guarantee no ace person has been fired for being ace. its still legal in some states to fire or not hire lgbt individuals. theres a case right now here in the u.s. where the government is being forced to release documents about people being fired and barred from joining the fbi and other government agencies because they were gay. i almost guarantee some of them where bi people, just like some of them were trans people. all pushed under the umbrella of gay, all ostracized. thats why lgbt people need to be in the lgbt community. its safe. sometimes its the only place any of us can find support or protection. im sorry, but a significant number of straight ace people just…. dont need that. and again imo, its fine if you want to be involved. but you have to be respectful of this community and its members. its really time to stop using scare tactics and its especially time to stop comparing aphobia to biphobia, because it is not a fair comparison. in fact, the comparison is straight up disrespecting a major portion of the community yall want so badly to be a part of by comparing bisexual people to hetero ace people when these identities and experiences could not be more different. anyways, im done, end rant

here is how yesterday and today went! yesterday was v good today was alright

so yesterday my first class was intro sociology. it was a 9:25 class so i was v tired. so i got there and sat down, i chose the rightmost seat in the front row bc i like to be in the front but im tall and i feel self conchis about blocking everyones view of the board so i chose to sit on the side. so eventually all of my classmates were there and its a relatively big class so most of the seats were taken yet no one sat next to or behind me which i am interpreting as homophobic

so then the prof came in and he made us all stand up and i realized he was making us do an icebreaker so i was like :/ so he made us get up and walk around the room introducing ourselves to as many people as possible and it was soooooooo awkward and it was also pointless bc i literally do not remember anyones names anyways! i do remember that there was one person named stacy but idr who

so yeah that was exhausting but other than that the class was fun! he gave us this speech about how we shouldnt be afraid to stand against the group and stick with our convictions and other stuff and he seemed to have mostly good opinions. but hes also that one prof that lets us call him by his first name and curses a lot. anyways this is gonna be an easy class so i am looking forward to it

then i came home and came back for psych. the prof was soooooo nice and relatable and she was v like cheerful but also she made us do an icebreaker too >:( but hers wasnt as bad it was just saying our name, major, and why we chose to take this class. the only problem is that she is v nice as i have already mentioned which is bad bc theres a few students who participate way too much and need to be told to shut up but shes too nice to do anything other than hear them out every time they feel like making a joke or sharing their opinion or asking a stupid question. but anyways i was pleasantly surprised bc i thought she was gonna be a difficult professor

then i had anatomy lecture w my king professor from last semester. it was p much the same thing as last semester, the lecture was boring except for his fun jokes and stories

then i had anatomy lab w the same prof as lecture. and the ta was soooooo hot then he put his contact info on the board and i found out that this ta is the professors son!! i knew both of his sons went here but this seems a little fishy to me bc his father clearly put a good word in for him when he applied for the position which isnt fair to the other applicants

anyways i also caught the ta staring at me while the prof was talking and when he saw that i noticed he looked away lol

so the lab is set up w tables of 6 and my table is me, this girl who was in my orientation group, this girl from my orgo lecture, 2 randoms, and my orgo lab ta from last semester! so that was nice bc at least i had a familiar face

one of the randoms was soooooo annoying though like she was complaining about everything and she was a damn mess like the prof gave out the packets from his lecture just as some extra info bc the lab stuff is closely related to the lecture material and this girl wasnt in his lecture so she was getting so overwhelmed with all these packets and she couldnt find anything and she was getting so upset about it like calm down! it doesnt even matter if you cant follow along in the packet bc the powerpoint form of the packet is on the projector rn just look at that instead

anyways after that i had the little conversation w the prof at the end of class which i already posted about and yeah! that was it

then today i just had orgo lecture and it was like the introductory day where the prof told us all about himself which i enjoyed bc he is a v interesting person. and at the end of class i saw mavis and we waved to each other so our friendship is still intact i guess

We learn and grow from new experiences and interactin’ with different people, it’s an incredibly important part of our growth. College is an incredibly diverse place where we can do that!

Everyone, black, white, asian, and so forth, speak to each other with respect. Genders, while not treated equally by the old, conservative staff, all get to say what they want and are given equal value in conversations. I live in Texas, not a very liberal place, but I still experience more acceptance and confidence than I ever did with even my parents.

This is clearly bullshit right wingers pull to split apart people in the left by claimin’ that our actions somehow divide us even though, if recent protests and counter protests held by the left against the right proves anythin’, its that our differences unify us. Unlike all of you middle class cishet white asshats.

Even ignorin’ my experiences, I’ve never heard a single issue with liberals excludin’ other liberals. It’s always conservatives who either exclude or get pissy when their radical ideas get them excluded. Same with radical liberals really.

Look I actually like capitalism as a concept, I also like communism, and socialism, hell I even like a monarchy or a tribal system where chieftains and elders hold votes. These concepts (both the economic and ideological ones) on paper are all perfect and good and do more harm than good.

The issue is that in practice, here in America, capitalism is ruinin’ lives as we speak and is goin’ to lead to an international crisis sooner than later on both an economic and environmental level. Capitalism, as it stands, is unsustainable, and our stance needs to change.

Can you give me an example because if you mean places like Cuba or China or North Korea or the Soviet Union those were all communist regimes that acted more like dictators than representatives of their people. Real ass communism hasn’t really been done outside of small communes. People are just too power hungry for their own good, the only difference with capitalism is that their avarice is given praise by the masses.

And of course slavery didn’t both ruin the lives of millions of people by makin’ them and their descendants poor and underprivileged, black people are poor because they choose to be violent and lazy. Obviously.
