i adore any fic that explores the found family dynamic within the 141 because... man its just what they deserve
price who takes on a paternal role, not because hes that much older then the others (he isnt, really!) but because he sees different, younger versions of himself within the 141. soap is his old eagerness to please, gaz is his grit and determination, ghost is his distance and hurt, and he sees each of these and just wants to make sure they dont go down the same bad paths he's gone down. he sees himself at different stages of his life within them and wants to help them the way nobody helped himself
gaz who's been so work-focused his whole life he struggled to form long-lasting bonds until the 141. kyle garrick, whos always been friendly and nice, but struggles to get out of his head to enjoy his free time because he just wants to do good, and make sure that the least amount of people possible. the 141 gives him the opportunity of found family whilst also making him feel like hes making a difference - it's the perfect balance, and theyre there to get him out of his head when hes too work-focused
soap who's a chronic people pleaser, often putting his own needs off in order to try and fix other peoples problems. hes so bright, always smiling and laughing, firm when needed, but nobody ever really sees through him until the 141. the taskforce that gives him a place to sink and explore his not so bright emotions whilst not making him feel like a burden. soap who can just... talk and talk and though theyll tease him for it, they hang on to every word, eager to hear him talk
ghost whos lived his whole life in conflict, being given a space where he can relax. it takes him a while, a long while, but theyre patient and caring and never push him too much, only the amount he needs. ghost who hasn't had a family in a very long time, but gets to look at gaz and see a brother he never thought he'd have again, look at price and see what a paternal figure in your life really should look like. ghost whos finally, slowly, letting himself love again, with a group of people who genuinely care for him

I am that type of guy who gets anxious over asking out video game characters haha, so it took ages for me to actually marry the digital book man despite maxing his heart soon after giving him the bouquet. Silly little art time to sooth my sick heart. Also decided to change up Wolfe's hair, just gonna say he cut it for their wedding.
Also sorry to Elliott my man, one of my cows gave birth the first night he was on the farm. I can imagine that would be something...

Prompt 200
Danny has found himself reincarnated, for fun! While waiting for Tucker to reincarnate. He’s uh, found himself as a clone now- thankfully stable! But he was apparently also an accident, and overheard some of the people talking about termination, which no thanks?
So apparently he wasn’t exactly an accident per se, they did mean to make a clone, so thank fuck for that! They had apparently grabbed the wrong blood, which he almost snorts at. Kind of hard to do in a tube full of liquid though.
Oh well, he’ll just be leaving now… after he destroys this lab and steals all these files on himself, thank you~ Now, does he want to go on an adventure or find his unwilling donors first…

Imagine getting stranded on a very chilly planet, you and your crew have everything you need and help is coming, you just have to wait out the cold.
Amphibious/reptilian alien is very sluggish from the temperature, and you ask to cuddle and share your mammalian body heat. They're almost alarmed at the offer, but humans are very warm and it's not long before they give in to snuggles.
Alien who very recently started their heat and wanted to reject you, knowing just how erratic their thoughts on you were lately. But they weren't savage, they could be professional with their fellow crewmate, who so kindly offered them their natural warmth for nothing in return. They were cold, you wanted to touch them. How could they ever deny you?
You drape a large blanket over the both of you and almost politely embrace their body, resting your head on their shoulder so your warm exhalations reach their neck. You wince at how initially cold their skin is, but your touch quickly softens them. They practically melt against you, holding you tightly in return.
They try so hard to be good. They bask in your skin against theirs, strength returning with each restrained caress, like you're delivering them back their life. They keep their hands where they know they should be, raking their mandibles against any exposed skin to watch goosebumps prickle in their wake. How soft you are. How precious and giving, how they ache to return your kindness.
Alien who would never let their heat get the better of them and just enjoys what touch you're offering them. But that doesn't mean the entire time they sit with you their mind isn't absolutely overrun with...slightly indecent thoughts. Memories of particularly sweaty fights, that time sparring you had them pinned to the ground, human videos they had researched. It would be so easy, they knew exactly where to touch you. They imagined it over and over, showing you they knew what they were doing, watching your soft little body respond to them the way theirs did so often to you.
Eventually, they get to leave the awful, ice planet. Alien starts looking for any excuse to go someplace cold with you again.

Boy we don’t treat chronic pain patients well, huh. I had a patient tonight who was adamant that the hospitalist I paged wasn’t going to order an extra dose of oxycodone to address the acute pain they were having on top of their chronic pain. They were so convinced that at one point I found myself saying, “the doc ordered it! We got it! Here it is! The thing you are saying is impossible and unattainable is in my hand as we speak!” I had to interrupt them mid-sentence to say this. I had to wiggle the med cup at the patient until they processed it. I’ve never had to work so hard to convince someone of the existence of ten milligrams of oxycodone.
