#islamic sex slavery
Text
Tumblr media
But when Islam emerged, it put (slavery) into order, by limiting it to legitimate wars between Muslims and their enemies.
If we fought Israel, which is plundering land, and is an aggressor against people and their faith... obviously, it is impossible that we will fight Israel, even though Surat Al-Isra in the Quran foretells this, and nothing is beyond the power of Allah... The female prisoners of wars are "those whom you own."
In order to humiliate them, they become the property of thte army commander, or of a Muslim, and he can have sex with them just like he has sex with his wives.
Some opportunists and extremists, who only harm Islam, say: "I will bring a woman from East Asia, as (a slavegirl) under the status of "those whom you own," and with the consent of my wife, I will allocate this woman a room in the house, and will have sex with her as a slavegirl."
This is nonsense. This is not prescribed by Islam at all. Islam says that a woman is either a wife or a slavegirl. Legitimately owned slaves come from among prisoners from a war which is waged against the Muslims.
This is the thing people don't quite get about the hostages Hamas took. Islamically, they're not just hostages, they're war bounty, and they're fair game.

And [also prohibited to you are all] married women except those your right hands possess. [This is] the decree of Allah upon you. And lawful to you are [all others] beyond these, [provided] that you seek them [in marriage] with [gifts from] your property, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse. So for whatever you enjoy [of marriage] from them, give them their due compensation as an obligation. And there is no blame upon you for what you mutually agree to beyond the obligation. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.
https://quranx.com/Tafsir/Kathir/4.24
Forbidding Women Already Married, Except for Female Slaves
Allah said,
(Also (forbidden are) women already married, except those whom your right hands possess.) The Ayah means, you are prohibited from marrying women who are already married,
(except those whom your right hands possess) except those whom you acquire through war, for you are allowed such women after making sure they are not pregnant. Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri said, "We captured some women from the area of Awtas who were already married, and we disliked having sexual relations with them because they already had husbands. So, we asked the Prophet about this matter, and this Ayah was revealed,
(Also (forbidden are) women already married, except those whom your right hands possess). Consequently, we had sexual relations with these women.''
[ Also hadith: 1, 2, 3, 4 ]
https://sunnah.com/muslim:1456d
Chapter: It is permissible to have intercourse with a female captive after it is established that she is not pregnant, and if she has a husband, then her marriage is annulled when she is captured
This hadith has been reported on the authority of AbuSa'id (al-Khudri) (Allah be pleased with him) through another chain of transmitters and the words are:
They took captives (women) on the day of Autas who had their husbands. They were afraid (to have sexual intercourse with them) when this verse was revealed:" And women already married except those whom you right hands posses" (iv. 24)
https://quranx.com/Hadith/Bukhari/USC-MSA/Volume-2/Book-24/Hadith-542/
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "There is no Zakat either on a horse or a slave belonging to a Muslim."
https://quranx.com/4.36
Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess.
https://quranx.com/24.32-33
And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.
But let them who find not [the means for] marriage abstain [from sexual relations] until Allah enriches them from His bounty. And those who seek a contract [for eventual emancipation] from among whom your right hands possess - then make a contract with them if you know there is within them goodness and give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you. And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, if they desire chastity, to seek [thereby] the temporary interests of worldly life. And if someone should compel them, then indeed, Allah is [to them], after their compulsion, Forgiving and Merciful.
https://quranx.com/Hadith/Bukhari/USC-MSA/Volume-8/Book-73/Hadith-182/
Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was on a journey and he had a black slave called Anjasha, and he was driving the camels (very fast, and there were women riding on those camels). Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Waihaka (May Allah be merciful to you), O Anjasha! Drive slowly (the camels) with the glass vessels (women)!"
https://quranx.com/Hadith/Bukhari/USC-MSA/Volume-9/Book-91/Hadith-368/
Narrated `Umar: I came and behold, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was staying on a Mashroba (attic room) and a black slave of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was at the top if its stairs. I said to him, "(Tell the Prophet) that here is `Umar bin Al- Khattab (asking for permission to enter)." Then he admitted me.
https://quranx.com/Hadith/Bukhari/USC-MSA/Volume-6/Book-60/Hadith-274/
Narrated Aisha: That night I kept on weeping the whole night till the morning. My tears never stopped, nor did I sleep, and morning broke while I was still weeping, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) called `Ali bin Abi Talib and Usama bin Zaid when the Divine Inspiration delayed, in order to consult them as to the idea of divorcing his wife. Usama bin Zaid told Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) of what he knew about the innocence of his wife and of his affection he kept for her. He said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! She is your wife, and we do not know anything about her except good." But `Ali bin Abi Talib said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Allah does not impose restrictions on you; and there are plenty of women other than her. If you however, ask (her) slave girl, she will tell you the truth." `Aisha added: So Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) called for Barira and said, "O Barira! Did you ever see anything which might have aroused your suspicion? (as regards Aisha). Barira said, "By Allah Who has sent you with the truth, I have never seen anything regarding Aisha which I would blame her for except that she is a girl of immature age who sometimes sleeps and leaves the dough of her family unprotected so that the domestic goats come and eat it."
https://quranx.com/Hadith/Bukhari/USC-MSA/Volume-4/Book-53/Hadith-373/
Narrated `Amr bin Taghlib: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) gave (gifts) to some people to the exclusion of some others. The latter seemed to be displeased by that. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I give to some people, lest they should deviate from True Faith or lose patience, while I refer other people to the goodness and contentment which Allah has put in their hearts, and `Amr bin Taghlib is amongst them." `Amr bin Taghlib said, "The statement of Allah's Apostle is dearer to me than red camels." Narrated Al-Hasan: `Amr bin Taghlib told us that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) got some property or some war prisoners and he distributed them in the above way (i.e. giving to some people to the exclusion of others).
https://quranx.com/Hadith/Bukhari/USC-MSA/Volume-5/Book-59/Hadith-512/
Narrated Anas: The Prophet (ﷺ) offered the Fajr Prayer near Khaibar when it was still dark and then said, "Allahu-Akbar! Khaibar is destroyed, for whenever we approach a (hostile) nation (to fight), then evil will be the morning for those who have been warned." Then the inhabitants of Khaibar came out running on the roads. The Prophet (ﷺ) had their warriors killed, their offspring and woman taken as captives. Safiya was amongst the captives, She first came in the share of Dahya Alkali but later on she belonged to the Prophet. The Prophet (ﷺ) made her manumission as her 'Mahr'.

Not exactly a ringing condemnation of slavery.
Remember that Muhammad is regarded as uswa hasana, "an excellent model of conduct," and al-Insān al-Kāmil, "the perfect human," and Muslims are supposed to model themselves on his example. If he does a thing, and "Allah" has not declared it is for him alone (such as having as many wives as he likes, not just the normal maximum of 4), then Muslims are supposed to emulate that.
Anyone who tells you that slavery is not allowed in Islam is either lying or ignorant. If they deflect and say things like, "well, the bible says..." then you can be 100% certain they were lying, because they've conceded the point. Unlike Xianity, Islam has not gone through any reformation. The word of Islam's quran and its pedophile prophet are unchanged and are taken to be as literally true today as they were 1400 years ago.

Now in this moment I feel beautiful expressing myself with makeup - no filter
Tumblr media
Now 41% more vivid with a filter
Meet Luke the fur babe 🐑 a heavenly gift 🎁 from a great ayah I’m blessed to call my friend, the biconic 666kween 😍🥹🥰🦇👸🌈❤️🥹🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🩸🥰😍😇🐪✨
Expressing my nas (self) with makeup wasn’t liberating until I accepted my self (nas) after washing it off.
Freedom began with late nights beating my face locked in the bathroom and calling myself boujie bidet.
Joy as panic attacks while my friend attempted to reveal me to an accepting mother.
I am a survivor (tw, sa) of digital s*x trafficking among other violence’s. This isn’t talked about, where CP (not club🐧) originates - but my underaged body will be distributed till the end of the internet 🛜 (inshallah) - if this is you also let your shame end, I am your sister. I love you.
@flower-song had a point, for my chains did not slink off until I walked out that door in the light of day - to pride, the club, my family, loving my soul past post evening ablution. In front of everyone, fearing none of them.

Calling Islam a “bandit religion” is so accurate. Once you really dive into the literature it becomes increasingly clear that Islam was basically conceived as a thinly-veiled personality cult by Muhammad, and all the spiritual teachings are just window dressing to disguise that fact as Muhammad and his friends cut a bloody swathe through Arabia, taking sex slaves and plunder as they went.
Exactly.
Muhammad invented the "religion" after he was thrown out of his own tribe and shockingly enough one of the first targets he went after for Allah was the tribe that exiled him. Weird how that works. My favorite part of the Koran is where even his child bride calls him out and says it's interesting how Allah always wants to do what Muhammad wants.
To convert to Islam Muhammad didn't even care if you believed in his bullshit. All you had to do was say "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet" and you were automatically in. No Muslim could attack you and you were free to attack any non-Muslim and steal their riches and take them as slaves. The entire concept of plunder and sex slavery is baked into the foundations of the religion. It's so painfully obvious that Islam is a low life raider's way of justifying his low life raiding and slaving if you look into how it was formed for even 5 minutes.

As a practicing muslim i'm guna have to disagree with you! Islam is actually a very beautiful peaceful religion. Arabian culture has made it such a horrible thing, forcing girls 2 dress how they dont want, do what they dont want and preaching it to be religion. It's hard to break out of cultural habits i personally see this in my daily life. Im not saying ur wrong or that u should be muslim or anythin jus sayin that the culture is not the religion and these 2 things should be distinguished between each other. <3
Islam is shit. Your prophet married a 6 year old and banged her at 9. The quraan gave men dominance over their women and allowed men to beat women. The prophet had a whole harem of women and allowed his followers to have 4 wives, he also told them they could rape the slave women they obtained in wars.
Mohammad spread islam with the sword. Those who surrendered had to join islam, if they were Christians or Jews they could keep practicing their religion by paying a tax and were treated like lower grade humans. If he was met with refusal, Mohammad would eradicate entire tribes and leave only the women and girls alive so they could be taken as sex slaves. Free women were told to wear hijab and cover their chests whereas slave women were forbidden from covering their chests and got beaten if they wore hijabs.
Slavery continued to thrive under islam. Some argue that islam encouraged the freeing of slaves in order to eradicate it over time. That’s not true, if a slave woman give birth to a child, that child would be the PROPERTY of her owner, so new slaves were constantly being born.
Argue as much as you want that “this is not the real islam” but it is. Muslims represent their book. They use it to justify their beliefs and actions. I live among muslims. Most are kind-hearted well-meaning people like you’d expect, but at the same time they’re antisemitic, homophobic, misogynistic and they see nothing wrong with it.
In a lot of muslim majority countries today, adulterers are stoned, apostates and blasphemers are killed, thieves’ hands are chopped off, homosexuals are thrown off of rooftops, and women are beaten and killed by their husbands, fathers, brothers for the stupidest shit.
Beautiful peaceful religion my ass. Also if you want proof of what I said lmk and I can give you quraan verses and verified hadiths. The peace and love is a facade to let islam fester in western countries and protect muslims as a “poor oppressed minority”.
Progressive muslims and ex muslims are the ones who are being oppressed because they want to reform and change islam for the better but islam does not accept change.

Where cancel culture must go next? How about Islamic Colonialism, which is ongoing and continues to this day, which took roughly 100 million slaves out of Africa, more than all other empires combined.
Let's start with Muhammad, the prophet of Islam. ""It is well known that Muhammad owned and traded slaves. We even know the names of some of his slaves and the details of some of his slave transactions. He also had a harem, with sex slaves that included a white Coptic slave with whom he had a child. So, unlike Thomas Jefferson, where sex with a slave is alleged, Muhammed’s rape and the subsequent birth of a child because of the rape is well documented in Islamic history.""
Muhammad killed all the male Jews of Yathrib (now called Medina), which was the vast majority of residents (50%), in this now Saudi city in the early 7th century. Muhammad then took all the remaining women and children as slaves, including Safiyyeh, who he married and made his sex slave after murdering her husband, her father and grandfather.

do you ever think about homophobes are projecting whenever they say homosexuality is immoral and perverted? I thought about this when I saw muslims criticizing Ilham Omar (muslim american politician) for tweeting positively about the lgbt community during pride month and muslims lost their shit saying homosexuality is degenerate and unnatural behavior that shouldn’t be condoned in any way because it goes against morals and I was just sitting there thinking how islam’s beloved prophet married a 6 year old girl and had sex with her at 9, and how sexual slavery is permitted by taking war captives it was insane, they’re supposed to lecture me about morality while their religion endorses pedophilia, violence against women and sexual slavery and then I realized a huge part of it is deflection, they’re so loud about their homophobia so you don’t look at the skeletons in their closet.
it’s the same with christian evangelicals who preach about family values and like to present themselves as the pinnacle of morality constantly get exposed for being predators and pedophiles and the newest addition to the homophobia train trans activists calling gay people genital fetishists while they themselves have the most deplorable actual fetishes or “kinks” that are pedophilic or centered around non-consent. it’s always the groups with the most to hide attacking gay people to project onto us.

Read any good books since your last update about your recent reading?
Yes, although I forget when I last shared the books I've been reading, so hopefully I don't repeat anything.
I know that I've repeated this book because I've mentioned it several times over the past couple of weeks, but I can't help but remind everyone again about Steve Coll's excellent new book, The Achilles Trap: Saddam Hussein, the C.I.A., and the Origins of America's Invasion of Iraq (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO). It's definitely the best book I've read so far this year, and it's one of the better books I've read in the past 10 years.
Other recent books that I've read and would recommend checking out:
•Radiant: The Life and Line of Keith Haring (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO) by Brad Gooch
•The Far Land: 200 Years of Murder, Mania, and Mutiny in the South Pacific (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO) by Brandon Presser
•UFO: The Inside Story of the U.S. Government's Search for Alien Life Here -- and Out There (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO) by Garrett M. Graff Garrett Graff has quickly become one of those authors who I go out of my way to immediately pick up his latest books because he's so well-connected and I ALWAYS learn fascinating things from his books. I don't know if there's a writer/journalist today who has better access to the American defense establishment or proven to be more capable of shining a light on many of the most secretive aspects of the United States government.
•"Uncool and Incorrect" in Chile: The Nixon Administration and the Downfall of Salvador Allende (BOOK | KINDLE) by Stephen M. Streeter
•Life After Power: Seven Presidents and Their Search for Purpose Beyond the White House (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO) by Jared Cohen
•The Liberation of Paris: How Eisenhower, de Gaulle, and von Choltitz Saved the City of Light (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO) by Jean Edward Smith
•Unruly: The Ridiculous History of England's Kings and Queens (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO) by David Mitchell
•The Rise and Fall of a Palestinian Dynasty: The Husaynis, 1700-1948 (BOOK) by Ilan Pappe
•In the Houses of Their Dead: The Lincolns, the Booths, and the Spirits (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO) by Terry Alford
•Kingdoms of Faith: A New History of Islamic Spain (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO) by Brian A. Catlos
•Borgata: Rise of Empire: A History of the American Mafia, Volume 1 of the Borgata Trilogy (BOOK | KINDLE) by Louis Ferrante

Liberal muslims on TikTok trying to convince us that Islam is the most feminist safest religion for women where any girl can be a business owner and have her own life while every male muslim believes women are inferior, despite praying will be destined for hell for being female, made to only make children and stay inside a house while those males justify child marriage, abuse and sex slavery is so ironic to see. And it’s harder even to see so many Christians fall for this.
I had watch a brief clip of some guy asking people what they feel when they heard the name of Jesus and the Islam prophet and so many people were emotional for the muslim on. This all feels like a spell to me being castedon the public
Muslims who grown up & live in the West have no room to talk about "feminist Islam" when the countries mistreating women the most are all Muslim. It's no coincidence.
We all know that Western culture is the only thing that keep Muslim men on check. I will never trust them when it comes to talk about female rights or whatever.
It's funny to see Muslims trying to debunk the Aisha being married at 6 saying "oh but the age calculation system was different!!!" when Aisha age was not debated like that in Islam UNTIL Westerners started inquiring them about it (I guess it didn't occur to Muslims that child marriage was a problem until then....) that's why they started resorted to flimsy excuses to not expose themselves as a pedophile enabling cult Soooo they pull out those coping excuses, saying that Aisha was actually twice older than the age described in their book.....which is stupid because you don't see them argue over other Islamic characters age, saying they are twice their described age. Like, WHY Aisha is the only character whose age is with a Islamic age calculation...but others characters' age isn't? 🤔 The math ain't mathing lol
And yeah I think people now are just scared to speak ill of Islam/Mohamed because of terrorism and Muslim overall aggressiveness whenever you dare criticize them. Look at them harassing apostates, and it's worse for ex Muslim converting to Christianism. Say what you want about Christianism, but ex Christians aren't out there changing identity because their family/community would literally KILL THEM for leaving Christianity. I do feel emotional when I hear the name of Mohamed too, but that's because I think of the countless victims his demonic cult did.

On a post that you made 06 days ago on toddler girls wearing Hijab, watch out your caption please.
First, whosoever told you that the sole purpose of Hijab is to hide the beauty of a woman from a man is problematic. Modesty is a part of Islam adjoined upon both men and women. About Hijab, Muslim women does Hijab out of modesty to please their Lord not for a men, any men.
Second, no one makes their toddler wear hijab and even if they do its on them they like it that way.
Third, when they grow up they have the choice of wearing it or not. No one is gonna persecute them.
The things such as persecution, violence because of not doing hijab etc comes from patriarchal mindset of society not İslam. So, please get your facts right.
And how about stop dumping your western feminism on an entirely different culture/population.(You might be from Bahrain but you've clearly misunderstood the whole concept of it).
Maybe seeing young girls pushed into slavery and sex work is also something that exist and much harmful than toddlers wearing hijaab and actually enjoying it.
Before you go in expressing your concern about a certain issue, you better educate yourself first. Go read the Quran, the supporting Hadiths and then go about it.
Thanks. 🌻
hadiths are garbage filled with misogynistic nonsense and if u think opposing literal 3 year old girls being made to wear the hijab (say all u want about 'its not for men its about allah!!!', the verse used to argue that the hijab is MANDATORY, as is believed by most muslims altho u guys sometimes wanna act otherwise, is a verse about modesty in PUBLIC and another verse about:
“The Arab women used to uncover their faces as slave women do, which was an invitation to men to look at them. So Allah commanded them to cover themselves with their jilbabs and cover their faces with them.” (Al-Tas-hil li ‘Uloom al-Tanzil, 3/144)
“O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e. screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [al-Ahzab 33:59]
“And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear therof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, or their brothers' sons or their sisters' sons, or their women or the servants whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex, and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O you Believers, turn you all together towards Allah, that you may attain Bliss.” (Quran 24:31).
also lol "western feminism" tell that to nawal el-saadawi! tell that to all the iranian women fighting very hard into not being forced into the hijab! tell that to eastern feminists whose feminism has been focusing on issues such as this, all while the west argues its just a free choice and to do with showing your faith. what's western feminism are people like you, deceiving others and acting like the hijab is a choice (when in most cases, it is not & to most muslims the hijab is mandatory. go read what most islamic scholars believe), people like you who act like women aren't persecuted if they wear the hijab and then take it off (anyone who lives in the muslim world can tell you otherwise), claiming that the hijab has nothing to do with hiding ourselves from men (as if the rules of hijab and the verses used to argue hijab is mandatory doesn't explicitly say so), and so on. your arguments are literally things western white feminists who know nothing about islam argue. its also telling you basically said "its not forced on those 3 year olds to wear the hijab, but if it is then its ok that theyre being forced!"
as for "waa read the quran read the hadiths educate yourself" i have. how about you do the same next? you can't correct me on this or deceive me into thinking otherwise because as every born muslim in my country has been, i had to take islamic studies for 12 years at school.

The Arabic Slave Trade is something that is rarely spoken about and often goes unheard of. When we speak of the enslavement of Africans, many of us like to connect it with Europeans, which is fine, but we should never forget they were not the only ones. For over 900 years, Africans were enslaved by Arabic slave traders. They would take Africans from all over the continent including West, East, and North Africa forcing them to march thousands of miles to Slave Markets. The Men, Women, and Children were bound together by the waist and neck so that if one died the rest could drag him or her along. These walks became known as the “Death Marches” and an estimated 20 million Africans died on these walks alone. The Arabs believed it was God’s wish to see Africans enslaved and believed they were uncivilized animals. Sound Familiar? Slaves were beaten and abused regularly although claims have been made that they were not supposed to. Many African Women, young Girls, and Boys would be used as Sex slaves for their owners. Islamic Slave holders would stick their swords and other weapons into the Vagina’s of Black Women and cut off the penis of African Men. This was done because they believed Africans had an uncontrollable sex drive.
Many Africans would be forced to convert to Islam believing if they shared the same religion, it would stop the abuse. Muslim slave traders would also promise them Freedom after conversion. This did not stop the abuse nor did it gain them their freedom. In Fact, one can argue it made them even more enslaved. When Europeans entered the slave industry, Muslim Slave traders would use the religion to exploit Islamic Africans to bring them other Africans. These Africans would then be sold to Europeans. Slavery in the holy city of Mecca would remain until 1966 and in all other Arabic countries until 1990. The Islamic Slave Trade began almost 500 years before the Europeans would come to Africa. It would be a catalyst for the dismantling of the continent and the massive expansion of the Religion. Had it not been for Islam, European Chattel Slavery may never have occurred. History is quite a teacher and once again as the late Dr. John Henrik Clarke once said, “Africa has no friends. If you want a friend, look in the mirror.”

do you know of any scholarly~ works re: concubine narratives? or re: historical (or mythic, etc.) concubines? been thinking a lot about concubine narratives lately. x_x
You bet I do.
(Usual caveat here that I use the term 'concubine' to describe a range of situations where someone is forced into an ongoing sexual relationship involving a spectrum of levels of violence and coercion. These are situations that have occurred frequently across cultures and historical periods especially in the context of war, imperialism, and slavery. I include both situations where someone is actively enslaved or otherwise taken captive in war as well as cultural circumstances in which the position of concubine to someone in power might be a respected role that gives someone access to some levels of power, even if it does not confer the same societal position as a spouse.
The term concubine itself has not great implications and associations, but I prefer it to something like 'sex slave' which I actively despise. Many of the people written about in these texts would not identify with that term and some might be insulted by it.)
On this topic, I eagerly await Kathy Gaca's forthcoming book, Rape, Enslave, or Kill: Men, Women, and the Religion of Sexual Warfare and Colonialism from Antiquity to Modernity. But, until then:
Camilla Townsend, Malintzin's Choices: An Indian Woman in the Conquest of Mexico
Leslie Pierce, Empress of the East: How a European Slave Girl Became Queen of the Ottoman Empire
Galina A. Yermolenko (ed), Roxolana in European Literature, History, and Culture
Ibn al-Sai, Consorts of the Caliphs: Women and the Court of Baghdad (trans. Shawkat M. Toorawa) [this is a very cool 13th century text]
Matthew S. Gordon and Kathryn A. Hain (eds), Concubines and Courtesans: Women and Slavery in Islamic History
Heidi J. Nast, Concubines and Power: Five Hundred Years in a Northern Nigerian Palace
Nina Kushner, Erotic Exchanges: The World of Elite Prostitution in Eighteenth-Century France
Elizabeth D. Heineman (ed), Sexual Violence in Conflict Zones: From the Ancient World to the Era of Human Rights
Gwyn Campbell and Elizabeth Elbourne (eds), Sex, Power, and Slavery
Ruth Bernard Yeazell, Harems of the Mind: Passages of Western Art and Literature [this is an analysis of western orientalist narratives]
The essay collections are more varied in quality than the single authored books in this list, but all of them have interesting material in them.
And several very strong texts on the role of sexual violence in the transatlantic slave trade:
Thavolia Glymph, Out of the House of Bondage: The Transformation of the Plantation Household
Lisa ze Winters, The Mulatta Concubine: Terror, Intimacy, Freedom, and Desire in the Black Transatlantic
Vincent Woodward, The Delectable Negro: Human Consumption and Homoeroticism within US Slave Culture

I think you being a muslim makes everything you said on that post about living without a faith a lot worse. Youre saying "i would be suicidal if i didnt believe in god" and the god u cant live without is the god described in islam. You think lack of divinity is cruel and uncaring but somehow a religious belief system that encourages sex slavery and posits its outsiders as subhumans who are condemned to eternal hellfire, is not? How do you live like this
you have no idea what i believe.

My favorite rap songs.
I like the one that starts like,
"BOOTY BUTT, BUTTCHEEKS, CLAPCLAPCLAP, ASSORTED 'OH!' NOISES AND SEX."
And also the one that's like, FEMALE AND/OR FEMININE PERSON SEX NOISES ON LOOP "MY DICK IS HUUUUUGE. OH. SEX. YES INDEED." Love songs, you know.
Also the timeless ones: "WEED. YES, WE'LL SPELL IT. WE TOKE IT AND SMOKE IT AND BLOKE IT AND GEL IT. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DISSECT MUSIC, WE SELL IT. THIS SONG'S ABOUT WEED! WEEEEEEEEEEEEED."
But there's also rap songs like: "BRAPPA BAP BAP BOW I GOTTA GAT AND IT MAKE NOISE LIKE THAT. SHOT A RIVAL SELLER ACROSS THE STREET, PUT HIS FAT BLACK ASS IN A BOX NEXT WEEK. I SELL DRUGS IF IT ISN'T OBVIOUS. IT'S THE ONLY JOB OUT HERE FOR SOME REASON BEYOND US. NEED A GANG FOR SAFETY, TOO MANY GANG BANGERS. WE'D PUT THE GUNS DOWN AND STOP SHOOTING, BUT THE GANG NEXT DOOR IS A DANGER. THANKS TO DRUG CHARGES, CAN'T OWN THEM LEGALLY. BUT THE DRUG DEALERS SELL GUNS, OR YOU CAN GET A HOT ONE THROUGH THIEVERY. DAMNED WHITE PEOPLE AND GUN CONTROL. FORBIDDEN TRIGGER FRUIT GET YOU LOCKED AWAY 'TILL YOU'RE OLD."
And also, "LIFE IS HARD FROM THE HEAT FROM ALL OF THE GANG DEALERS BUT I DON'T WANT TO BE A PAWN I WANT TO BE A TOP EARNING BIG WHEELER. I WISH THE LAWS DIDN'T TARGET INNOCENT BLACK MEN, BUT SO LONG AS CRACK'S ILLEGAL IT'S NOT IF, BUT WHEN. I LOOK DOWN ON OTHER BROTHERS FOR, 'BEING TOO WHITE.' IF YOU DON'T HAVE MY INFLECTIONS AND ACCENT, 'CUZ, WE GON' FIGHT."
Followed up immediately with, "FUCK COPS AND FUCK PIGS AND FUCK WHITE LAWYERS, ALL I DID WAS RUN FROM POLICE, B/C I'M A SOLDIER. THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO CHASE AND PURSUE, I GOT BILLS TO PAY AND THE RENT IS DUE. I DON'T PAY TAXES FOR THE DRUGS I SELL, I JUST COLLECT SAFETY NET MONEY, MULE DOPE AND YELL. THIS FILTHY SOCIETY IS NOT MADE FOR ME, I CALL 9/11 BUT IT TAKES HOURS TO SEE. PERHAPS IF THE HOOD HAD FEWER DOPE DEALERS, MORE PEOPLE TO BE NURSES, DOCTORS AND AMBULANCE WHEELERS. BUT INSTEAD WE GET CARNAGE, VIOLENCE, DEATH AND THE KNEE. I BLAME WHITE PEOPLE FOR GANG BANGERS, LIKE ME. THE LOCAL SCHOOL COMMITTEE EMBEZZLED FUNDS AGAIN, OUR DISTRICT HOOD IS 99% BLACK, BUT I'LL BLAME THE WHITE MEN. WE WON'T EVEN DISCUSS THE DEAD KIDS BY STRAY FIRE, JUST ATTRIBUTE THAT TO OUR SITUATION, MOST DIRE."
And sometimes the song that goes like, "WHITE PEOPLE ARE EVIL, WINK AND NOD, I'LL MENTION THAT EVIL SCIENTIST, YAKOB. MORE SOUR GRAPES THAT'D GET A WHITE ARTIST CENSURED, BY FAR. LISTEN AS I GET AWAY WITH SAYING THE WORDS OF THE R-. CASUAL SLURS AT GAY PEOPLE, BUT IT'S OKAY, I'M OPPRESSED. WE'LL BLAME WHITE AMERICA, AND FREEDOM OF SPEECH DO THE REST. MORE CONSPIRACY THEORIES, LIKE ALEX JONES, JUST WITH VAGUE SEIGE MENTALITY AND WANT FOR POWER, BLACK OWNED."
And who could ever forget this wonderful little ditty. "THINLY VAILED CALL TO ETHNOSUPREMACIST ARMS, WE GOT AN UNDERDOGS GRUDGE AND WISH INCREDIBLE HARM. UH YEAH, OPEN TALK OF 'US' FINALLY RISING, SEIZING A STATE AND THEN GETTING 'ENTERPRISING.' SOLIDAIRTY FISTS AND LAURELS, ROSES SICKLES AND HAMMERS. IT'S JUST A PITY OUR FINANCEERS ARE IN SLAMMERS. BUT WE WON'T BE DENIED, SOVEREIGNTY IS OUR MISSION. WE'LL ANNEX PART OF AMERICA, OUR SECESSION AMBITION. C'MON JOIN MY MOVEMENT." Pity nobody actually joined it. The artist hasn't given up hope that Black America will eventually personally finance his vaguely/lapsed Islamic Caliphate that practices polygamy and consumption of pork, and hopes for splitting off from the United States to form a legally sovereign nation inside the United States. Preferably one that can cry for reparations and the poor state of the reservation every year while the leadership misappropriates funds as they have the right to do, letting the populace demendent starve. Echoes of Sean P. Diddy Combs' compound and any time they try this ethnoseparatist movement.
And the ever loved, "YEAH YEAH YEAH. MIC CHECK. POLITICAL COMMENTARY! THIS SONG'S ABOUT SLAVERY YES, AGAIN. 244 YEARS FROM THE FIRST TO THE LAST, WE BEEN LEGALLY OUR OWN FOR A CENTURY AND A HALF. BUT NOT IF YOU ALSO COUNT THE POLL TAX, AND TRASH. JUST A REMINDER THAT RACISTS EXIST, SO I SAY ON GOOD AUTHORITY, WHITE PEOPLE BE IT. IT'S WRONG TO STEREOTYPE AN ENTIRE GROUP, BUT ONLY IF IT'S US, MENTAL GYMNASTICS, WOOTWOOT. HOW DARE THEY SPEAK AS IF WE'RE MONOLITHIC. BUT IT'S COOL IF WE SAY WHITES COLLECTIVELY ARE DICKS. IT'S WRONG TO TREAT A GROUP LIKE THEY'RE ALL CRIMINALS, UNLESS THEY'RE WHITE, THEN: DAMAGE RECEIVED = MINIMAL. MY CAREER SURVIVES DESPITE INSISTENCE ON SLURS, AND I DON'T EVEN JUST MEAN THROWING AROUND THE N-WORD. IT'S THE 90S AND THEY'RE MAD, BUT CONSIDER IT CHARITY, TO LET A 'BROTHER' DROP GAY SLUR F-BOMBS AND STILL WANT MINORITY SOLDIARITY. SO WE GET TO SPICE IT UP WITH THE LYRICS, PEOPLE WANT TO SAY RAWNESS AND THEY ALSO WANT TO HEAR IT. WE'RE PRIVILEGED TO HAVE THE RULES LAX FOR US, WHITE ARTISTS CAREERS DISAPPEAR WHEN THEY MAKE THIS MUCH FUSS. THEIR STINT WOULD BE OVER AND THEY'D CATCH ENDLESS FLACK, SHOULD'VE KNOWN BETTER THAN TO CUSS ON AIR WHILE NOT BLACK. THIS DISPARITY COMES FROM ACADEMIC LEFTIST FLACK. WE GET TO MAKE WAVES, AND THEY'VE GOT OUR BACK. ANYONE ELSE TRY TO SPIT TRUTH, GETS HIT WITH VAGUEPOSTS THAT DIRECT PUBLIC RELATIONS' NOOSE. THIS IS FAIR AND IT'S TIGHT AND NOT AT ALL TRITE OR A SPIT IN THE FACE TO EQUAL RIGHTS. "
And who could ever forget the classic: "HEY YOOOO I'M A WHITE RAPPER. IT'S '94 TO '04, AND I HAVE MOXIE AND SASS. MORE THAN THAT, HOWEVER, I'VE GOT UNLIMITED N-WORD PASS. A PRIVILEGED, CARTE BLANCHED AND SHELTERED USE, DON'T YOU WORRY, BUT ITS USE CAUSES CONTROLLED OPPOSITIONAL CONTROVERSY. THE ONES THAT AREN'T COLLARED TO BIG BOY GAME RAPPERS GET THEIR CAREERS DESTROYED AND THEIR BUTTCHEEKS ALL CLAPPERED. SEE, RAP CAN BE PARTICIPATED IN BY WHITE PEOPLE! I'M PROOF! IT'S A LIE WE'RE NOT WELCOME OR EVEN TOP OF THE HEAP-LE, THE TRUTH. I HAVE AN AUDIENCE BECAUSE I'M A PLANT; WHAT A RACKET, IF NOT FOR MY USE IN WHITE SOCIETY, I JUST COULDN'T HACK IT. MY CLAIM TO FAME IS I USE A THESAURUS AND DON'T SPEND ALL THE SONG JUST REPEATING "UH" AND "YEAH", FOR US. M.C. PET-MAJORITY SIGNING OUT, DADDY NEEDS MORE LIPS UP HIS ASS."
But I also like that rap song that goes like: "UH. YEAH. CHECKIT. PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY, MY JAM. THIS SONG HAS NO POINT, BUT I'M FOND OF THEM, MAN. SOME ABSTRACT FLOW, WHERE IT GOES I DON'T KNOW, IT HAS NO POINT BUT THAT'S THE POINT OF THE SHOW. IT'S HARMLESS, GARMLESS, THERE'S NO CONTROVERSY HERE. JUST STREAMING OF CONSCIOUSNESS, MAYBE THANKS TO WEED AND BEER. BUT, THEY'RE NOT REALLY MENTIONED IN THE SONG, JUST IMPLIED BY THE TONE AND THE AMBIENT SOUND EFFECTS OF PING-PONG. MAYBE I'M REFERENCING RAPPERS THAT SAMP'D MORE POPULAR SONGS HOPING TO MAKE SALES MORE AMPED."
Maybe I'll add to this list when I can think of a few more rap song niches, complaints and themes.
Also, chill out. If you can handle boiling down country music as a genre to the same songs about beer, trucks, sex and racism, you can handle a tongue in cheek post about rap song tropes.
