In primis loro stesse. #MahsaAmini è stata uccisa il 16 settembre 2022 perché una ciocca di capelli le usciva dal velo e da quel momento le donne iraniane si sono alzate in piedi, rifiutandosi di essere messe di nuovo "al loro posto". Posto che qualcun altro ha deciso per loro. Hanno riempito le strade e le piazze, hanno bruciato gli #hijab, si sono tagliate i capelli e hanno dimostrato al mondo intero che la paura di morire era niente rispetto alla paura di vivere sotto ricatto per sempre. Per questi motivi, e per tanti altri, l'8 marzo di quest'anno è tutto per loro, con la campagna #ilcoraggioèdonna, voluta dalla ministra per la Famiglia e le Pari opportunità Eugenia Roccella. Portavoce e volto dell'iniziativa l'attivista iraniana @pegah_moshirpour, che spiega così la libertà: "Vuol dire poter studiare e decidere chi diventare. Poter uscire di casa con i capelli scoperti senza paura di essere arrestate o di perdere la vita. Avere l'opportunità di guadagnarsi da vivere e veder riconosciuto, equamente, il proprio lavoro. Vuol dire scegliere di costruire una famiglia in pace, lontano dalla violenza e dalla guerra. Il coraggio è donna come la libertà".
