In 2002, the Israeli army took our house for 11 days. We lived in an apartment building away from any fighting in Nablus. The main "fighting" was in the old city. A soldier knocked at our door around 2 AM. I opened the door. He had a gun to my head and ordered us to all go downstairs. They checked everyone's IDs then ordered us all to a single apartment in that building. They then told us that they will be using that building as a military base because it has a good view. They let us know that a multi-day curfew will be lifted for 2 hours next morning and that we should use that time to get out. We had no family in the same city to go to. We ended up going to a friend's house. Their house was searched that same night. A story for another time. We came back 11 days later when Israeli forces left the city. The house was a complete mess. They purposefully destroyed furniture, stole items, and poured everything from oil to "other substances" on our mattresses. Took us days to clean the mess with the help of neighbors. Thankfully, they didn't demolish our building. Others were not as lucky.

I was so moved by all the doujinshi I saw on my trip to Japan last month I wanted to make one of my own, so I spent the next six weeks revisiting some of that Giovanni/Lt. Surge business I was on about a few years back and made a 42 page sexy gay violent pokemon fancomic about Giovanni and Lt. Surge being handsy with each other.

I just finished it so if you want to read it the whole thing is pay what you want on itchio for anyone willing to throw at least a dollar my way for the pdf. (Content warning for blood, violence, eye trauma, gore, and animal/pokemon death, but the actual romancey parts are pretty fluffy and cuddly)

Katara is also grappling with the confusion of befriending an enemy, something that doesn’t prove as difficult as she had expected with the bond of shared, furious grief bridging old wounds. (Learning a new way to look at her bending doesn't hurt either)

Azula, struggling with the Fire Lord’s mistrust, encounters a few nasty surprises and has to make some difficult decisions. Luckily, she is a great deal better at making sensible choices than her brother.

Her father may have made a slight tactical error.

POTUS must put strong conditions on Israel funding now.

The time has come to put strong conditions on any aid going to the Israeli government. Benjamin Netanyahu isn’t listening to President Biden, or to the families of hostages, or to the global community. He’s not interested in negotiating towards peace. He doesn’t seem to care about freeing the hostages. Instead he’s insisting on undertaking an assault on Rafah, a neighborhood filled with starving civilians who have no place left to go. It’s a mission that will have a catastrophically high body count. Any American funding should be conditioned on his absolutely not doing this. In general, I do NOT want my tax dollars paying for missiles, bombs, or armaments to be used against a ravaged population of mostly women and children in Gaza. I don’t want it paying for war crimes. I don’t want it funding settlement expansion. The U.S. has leverage. It’s time use it. Sometimes even our closest friends require tough talk. Put strong conditions on Israel funding now. Thanks.
