The deadliest Earthquake to have happened in over 500 years has just hit Turkey and Syria, in just one day over 5000+ people have been killed and 20,000+ have been injured with casualties increasing as I’m typing this.
Turkey has called for international assistance and multiple countries have already sent aid to them and the internet is filled with links for reliable charities for you to donate, all you need to do is type “Turkey” + "donate” in the same sentence and click search.
Syria, as you can see here on the map, hasn’t received any international aid due to the corrupt Assad’s regime and all the sanctions the country has, not only that, but Turkey has closed the border with Syria, meaning whatever aid/volunteers arrive in Turkey will not be able to cross to Syria.
Not to mention that there have been some sick people online, mostly Zionists, who will deliberately post reliable charities and claim that they’re a scam/have connections to terrorism to discourage people from donating to them.
So here are some links to charities that are currently helping Syria through this Earthquake, please donate or at least share if you can:

Note: In 2017 Akkad streamed a live video on Facebook, coming out as gay after fearing that his family would have had forced him to marry a woman against his will. Russia is bombing idlib now please share 🇸🇾 #freesyria
(video source @FARED_ALHOR on twitter) (also a really good source on the situation in Syria in general)
From what I understand, russia together with the Assad regime have been heavily bombing civillians around Idlib, Kansafra, Al-Fatira, Kafr-Awaid while the people have been organising mass protests against the regime. Their methods are cowardly and abominable, and russians have a long history of specifically targeting hospitals and evacuation teams in Syria.
Aside from spreading the information, I urge people to look into if there are any local solidarity organisations that you can lend your hand to. I particularly know there is an upcoming march in Dublin

A UK museum has embraced inclusivity but courted controversy by relabeling third-century Roman emperor, Elagabalus, with female pronouns, based on historical accounts. The controversy surrounding this decision pushes us to further explore the fascinating, complex narratives of the past.

“I was incensed by the number of times I was told that the dialogue sounded ‘cooler’ in English,” Manal said. “It was disrespectful and I felt insulted. I was devastated by the excessive use of English dialogue and how superficial and cheesy it is,” she said. “It felt like one of those banal American films, filled with many orientalist cliches.”
El Hosaini prides herself on trying to make the film as authentic as possible, and went as far as filming the crossing scenes at the Aegean coast and hiring some refugees for scenes.
However, this left Manal feeling uneasy for a number of reasons, one being the six hours of filming in the middle of the sea, where they actually saw people in boats trying to cross.
“Some cast members were crying; others felt queasy about communicating their discomfort. I reached a point where I felt it was all too much,” Manal said. “I told them you can’t invoke trauma by creating a new trauma for the performers; you don’t hurt people to just get a scene,” she said.
