I know this is just a silly bad quality random screencap of a screencap that I found on facebook lol, BUT it's a succinct enough image to easily describe the concept in a quick/accessible way hopefully :

(and of course, feel free to elaborate in tags, etc.! (especially elaborating about other senses as well.. can you "hear" in your mind just as well as you can "see"? taste? etc.) It's an interesting topic to me, as someone who's like a 4.5 at MOST lol. I'm curious what option will be the most common :0c )

#tumblr polls #hrmm... a little poll perhaps.. about a subject I find interesting.. since this image came across my facebook today #still really not feeling that well. no longer shaking violently and such but I still feel weird and weak much more than usual #They did say my markers for like infection or inflammation were elevated but that they werent sure of the cause so hopefully #it's nothing too serious. they did also say a lot of different things can cause that thing to be higher than normal but didn't go into spec #fics of what. maybe some of them are relatively benign or something. I still havent felt much back to normal since #I got really sick that one time though. I feel fine on and off but then little bouts of feeling weird and sick happen. hrmmm #ANYWAY.. looking for small ways to be productive. such as little doodles on evil ipad or editing game videos #or posting polls or cat pictures or some other like not very labor intensive things #I WISH I COULD FOCUS on writing HHRGGhh... I need to finish my game.. it would be so freeing.. a project that's been looming #over my head for like 5 years even though througouht that 5yrs I've probably spent a total of 3 months working on it lo.. ANYWAY #I still partially really cannot beleive that people CAN see stuff in their heads. There's always part of me that's thinking like. well mayb #e everyone DOES see the same exact thing but we just describe/conceptualize it so differently that we think we're talking about #different things when we're really not. But I have been assured by people I've talked to about it that they can GENUINELY really see #stuff in their heads like as vivid as an actual picture in real life or something. And the other senses are neat too. Like for exmaple I #can hear in my head much better than I can see imagery. I still CANNOT hear vividly like as if I were listening to actual music out loud..#but I think it's developed more than my sight. AND interesting how this varies the creative process. a friend I was talking to on the phone #said they write by literally just watching stuff play before them like a movie. where my process is COMPLETELY different. AND that affects #the content/what details we focus on as well as our individual styles of writing have differences that can be traced back to that.. hrmm

As someone who's terrible at discerning differences, what's the difference between cel-shaded and normal?

Also I occasionally check through your comms sheet and it always delights me that one of my old comms from you is used as an example

NOO no you are good! since you can't actually enlarge the images on carrd, it's hard to spot the difference. Cel-shaded works are somewhere between sketch and regular comms, I use textured brushes for linework and shading, and there is no full background option, only a cutout/patch/yknow! Regular comms take longer because the lines are more precise, and I use smooth brushes to work on them, they have simple backgrounds that fill the whole canvas. Here is a comparsion with the same beloved gal I had the pleasure to work on this year in both styles!

"oh animating was so much fun i wanna try doing it again" YEAH RIGHT. SHITS HARD I REMEMBER WHY I STOPPED.

#i hit my limit was when i attempted to do a 9second 12fps fully rendered warrior cats MAP part with flipaclip on my phone #never did frame by frame animation for at least a few years #but the absolute joy and whimsy of seeing The Character move around because *you* did it is so rewarding i think #flipaclip has a shitty ui but its gotten slightly better and im using an ipad instead of phone screen #so who knows i might develop patience to finish an animation or at least an animatic

Its always fun to laugh at kids not knowing how to use older technology like a casette or vhs player, or even CD, and then be concerned about their lack of knowledge about these things but the problem can be very easily resolved. Just... show it to them. Literally all youd have to do is play a cd in the living room at the age of 4. Let them pick out what music to play. And keep that up from time to time.

Its a dumb example but i just saw a bunch of 13 year olds stare at a cd as if they were in the caves handling fore given by prometheus himself. And theres so many more examples out there, of subject matters that are probably much more concerning.

I swear to god parents expect their children to just learn shit by themself, forgetting it is their duty to educate and nurture.

I wonder how many mascot horrors we'll get to the point the toys and silly character designs they rooted and were based from lose the nostalgia that made the genre effective and normal toys arent recognized as toys anymore but scary escape boo boo's plush factory merch lookalikes

#i talk #this goes out to the ipad babies whos never stepped into a toys r us &only exposure to toys is 24 hours of garten of banban youtube videos #dont even know if toys r us is still holding up . those things used to be packed. my only recent memory now is one of them shutting down #dont know!! i have alot of thoughts on mascot horror. its just a shame recent developments seem like theyre going nowhere with the genre #i still think it could be good. most is just evil factory but i think thats nobodys fault. websites just push that content more than others #its such a common setting and plot it loses the suprise & the contrast of twisting nostalgia into something scary had #from how much recent titles always use the same formula with little to no changes. youll know what to expect #its diluted... but i really dont blame any developers for it. Its a tried and true method on getting media recognition really fast #hmmmmm if it makes sense...

Did y’all know that “All centipedes are venomous and can inflict painful stings, injecting their venom through pincer-like appendages known as forcipules or toxicognaths, which are actually modified legs instead of fangs”…. Horrible! Millipedes don’t have either of those traits, on the other hand. I can’t wait for them to add them to the game!
