Intercepted houses & which sign rules these houses? 🤔 (Astro lesson)

🦋 A reader sent the following question: "I’ve always wanted to know and understand which house is dominated by which zodiac sign 🪧 if 2 or 3 zodiac signs are found within the zones of one House, e.g. because of where the person was born, geographically, the houses aren’t equidistant within the natal chart. 9th house may start in the latter degrees of Pisces and then contain the whole Aries sign and also touch the first degrees of Taurus. Another question following the below: would that house be dominated by Pisces (enters the house first) or Aries (completely encompassing the whole sign in the one house, surrounded by the adjacent zodiac signs). Which sign do we claim to dominate the house?"

If 3 zodiac signs are found within the zones of just one house, we are talking about intercepted houses.

The intercepted houses correspond exactly to this, and it means that in practice the person doesn't feel the energy of the intercepted sign flowing in any of the house cusps, as it is "swallowed" in the house and other signs manifest there, instead of it.

Your question is extremely relevant and in my understanding, the sign shown in that house is the sign that rules it.

In your example, from the description you gave, I imagine that the 9th house is being ruled by Pisces and the 10th house by Taurus, and Aries is intercepted.

interceptions are an overcharged, under-appreciated facet within a natives chart. its something you are acutely aware of and are usually extremely distasteful/uncomfortable of. Its something that was neglected in previous lifetimes so you are forced to fix it now...

1st/7th house or Aries/Libra - these people are very noticeable but in a uncomfortable way for themselves and others... they come off extremely strong (they are very imposing accidentally but also not in a good way) and they are always switching between being extremely self conscious of this or very idgaf. This creates a dynamic where they come off very wat da fuq > and are projected onto a lot and have a habit of projecting onto others a lot. 2nd/8th house or Taurus/Scorpio - These people are very insecure, but others are usually extremely unaware of this, which only accelerates the natives insecurity. To others they come off very valuable(2)/powerful(8) but usually they do not relate to this feeling within themselves at all. They however may overcompensate these feelings of inferiority by appearing stronger than they feel inside, and they are very good at convincing others this. Until it does inevitably crumble and everyone is shocked because their facade is relatively strong. 3rd/9th house or Gemini/Sagitarrius - These people are very talkative or the opposite; they are mindful of their answers and those of others, but because of their overthinking tendencies it makes them very fidgety and always need to have a great deal of input into the conversation. This makes others not sure if they smart, because they low key annoying to talk to (ya'll just sayin too much) but they dont appreciate their own cleverness because they mentioned every dot point in existence and this makes them feel stupid; don't know what a summary means or you made 5 summaries which defeats the purpose of one in the first place. 4th/10th house or cancer/capricorn - These guys had a rough childhood and you've never seen a more self protective person of their image. So they never reveal much and this statue-esque vibe they give off is very unesettling and many people talk about this lack of care they display because everyone knows ya'll just give a shit way too much. They avoid responsibility and emotional vulnerability often, and it creates conflicts within their personal life and that of their reputation. 5th/11th house or leo/aquarius - They doin a lot of vibin and not in a viby way. Its too much and they know it too and this creates conflict within their personality of not feeling like they shine in the way they wish they could, so they try even harder to shine the way they envisioned. But too others its the same song / dance we are so used to seeing this with them. This creates conflict in their presence within the community, and it can make them have a poor self image/ identity. 6th/12th house or virgo/pisces - they work a lot but they never satisfied with what they did, so they again work even harder. You can find these guys up at 4 am still tinkering their assignment/ project and even if theirs so many details implanted into it, its never enough and so they still doing more. They also neglect things that are necessary such as eating, or cleaning, because they are so focused on what they wanted to accomplish. This hurts their spirit because they never feel satisfied with what they have done with their life, despite working so damn hard.

Intercepted Houses

So, to start off, let's talk about what an intercepted house actually is:

An interception is when a house is found to be larger than 30° and engulfs an entire sign. Usually, folks will look at the (Gemini 2H/Gemini 3H) house cusps and confuse those for the intercepted houses, but the interception actually lies within the entirety of Cancer being engulfed by the 3H, carrying on a Leo influence to rule over the 4H. When we find interceptions, we'll always see an equal expression on the opposite side of the chart, meaning that interceptions form on an axis rather than focusing on one sign or area of the chart (ex: Aries-Libra, Taurus-Scorpio, etc. will always be mutually intercepted)

Some folks believe intercepted houses are indicative of past-life karmic failures, showing these influences are difficult for us to express because we face more challenges and opportunities to learn from them than other people. When we talk about intercepted houses, we also have to consider the additional interception of the planets themselves too, and how we find difficulty in expressing their themes because we're attempting to approach it from another signs' mindset and perception.

When we look at intercepted houses and planets, though there's infinite possibilities of different expressions, we have to understand that the native isn't fully aware of that signs' influence on their life because it's never been part of it.

Some people also consider intercepted houses to show the themes of life our parents/caregivers, whether intentionally or unintentionally, didn't teach them about because it was circumstantially seen as unimportant during the natives childhood.

So, looking at an Aries-Libra axis interception, this is someone who has difficulty enforcing boundaries between who they are and who they turn into around other people, finding it difficult to look at themselves without seeing the impact of everyone they've ever met.

1/4/7/10H: Struggling with past, wanting to be more known for who they are as individuals

2/5/8/11H: Struggling with what they have to offer, vehemently refusing criticism and guidance

3/6/9/12H: Struggling with emotions, always wanting to be more "logical" with things.

 

For a Taurus-Scorpio axis interception, this is someone who finds it hard to separate themselves from other people, and even harder to decide when to actually let go. They're always convinced cutting one tie will make them lose connection with the world entirely.

1/4/7/10H: Conflict arises from heavy-handed attempts to maintain traditions or memories

2/5/8/11H: Conflict arises from other people changing their opinion, thinking they're losing that person

3/6/9/12H: Conflict arises from confrontation, their "loyalty never being enough"

 

In terms of a Gemini/Sagittarius axis interception, there tends to be difficulty in knowing how to approach people and at what level, overshooting and falling short in their first impressions trying to mirror peoples' intelligence based on appearance and assumption.

1/4/7/10H: Troubles rise from other people feeling made fun of when they're trying to relate

2/5/8/11H: Troubles rise from overexaggeration, and lies, telling fantastic stories to pull people in

3/6/9/12H: Troubles rise from false empathy, which can be perceived as digging.

 

For the Cancer/Capricorn interception axis, this is someone who reveals more in the moment than they actually want to, struggling with the boundaries between their public and personal lives. They want to be seen and heard, but not exposed entirely.

1/4/7/10H: Someone who exposes their past and what made them who they are

2/5/8/11H: Someone who exposes their values, sometimes coming off more extreme than they really are

3/6/9/12H: Someone who exposes their desires, coming off focused and possibly opportunistic

 

For a Leo-Aquarius axis interception, this is someone with a lack of belief in their own individuality, feeling like they are only what other people tell them to be. There's a need to express themselves that, in part, they even refuse themselves the opportunity to fulfill.

1/4/7/10H: A belief that, no matter how far they make it, they will never make it [out]

2/5/8/11H: A belief that belief itself is a waste of time, planning for anything rather than hoping for the best

3/6/9/12H: A belief that they'll never be seen in the way they want to be

 

Looking at a Virgo-Pisces axis interception, this is someone who lacks belief in their own ability to achieve their dreams no matter the amount of work they put in, refusing to try for so long that they eventually forget how to.

2/5/8/11H: The refusal to believe that anyone believes in them, accepting complete loneliness

I've been thinking about Nika and Norea's various "talks" over the course of the last three episodes, and specifically about the point where Norea goes "you didn't think you were going to get to go to Asticassia for free, did you?" to Nika when Nika objects to being involved in whatever it is they're planning. And, frankly, Norea is wrong here. Nika has been doing quite a lot for Dawn of Fold, the attack on Plant Quetta was largely possible thanks to her and presumably she'd been helping out in other ways over the last three years she's been at the school. But, aside from that, Nika is also in a position of incredible danger here at this school. We saw what happened when Martin reported her, in episode 15 we see what happens when Spacians figure out where Dawn of Fold is located. Nika has been in danger of being arrested, dying or worse every single day she'd been at Asticassia for the last three years.

In a rare display on Tuesday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York was spotted speaking with the unlikeliest of her congressional colleagues: Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida and Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona.

Ocasio-Cortez was seen Tuesday speaking with Gaetz briefly on the House floor. The conversation between the two came as a surprise, considering how they have clashed and how ideologically different the progressive congresswoman and the House Freedom Caucus congressman are.

Speaking with The Intercept, Ocasio-Cortez said Gaetz told her that House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy — who is vying for the role of House Speaker — was trying to convince the GOP he could cut a deal with the Democratic Party to get the job.

In response, Ocasio-Cortez said she told Gaetz that the Democrats would not help McCarthy. McCarthy failed on three separate ballots Tuesday to get the votes he needed to secure the Speakership. By the third vote, the number of people voting against him had gone up.

"McCarthy was suggesting he could get Dems to walk away to lower his threshold," Ocasio-Cortez told The Intercept. "And I fact-checked and said absolutely not."

In another turn of events, Ocasio-Cortez was seen sitting next to Gosar and talking to him, nodding, and smiling.

Ocasio-Cortez told Semafor Tuesday that Gosar, too, had approached her to ask whether the Democrats were willing to help McCarthy secure the Speakership by exiting the chamber and lowering the vote threshold. Ocasio-Cortez added to Semafor that she told Gosar the same thing she told Gaetz: Her party won't help McCarthy.

The ABC reporter Gabe Ferris also spoke with Ocasio-Cortez about the conversation between her and Gosar. The congresswoman told Ferris she would "never" walk away to clear the path for McCarthy and that she would back Hakeem Jeffries, the leader of the House Democratic Caucus.

In November 2021, Gosar posted a violent anime clip depicting himself killing her. The video prompted Ocasio-Cortez to call Gosar a "creepy member I work with who fundraises for Neo-Nazi groups" and shared a "fantasy video" of himself killing her.

That month, Gosar was stripped of his committee positions by a Democratic-led Congress. He then refused to apologize for posting the video, comparing his censure to Alexander Hamilton's.

Ocasio-Cortez told Semafor that Gosar did not apologize Tuesday for the video during their conversation.

For his part, Gosar joked about the exchange, posting a screenshot of him and Ocasio-Cortez smiling during their conversation.

"So then I says 'The combustion engine was actually a miracle of engineering that people take for granted today,'" Gosar tweeted.

Gosar wrote in a separate tweet Tuesday that he and Ocasio-Cortez were talking "about the problem of the prior speakerships having too much authority and thus minimizing each member's potential contribution to the House debate." The congressman did not say whether he and Ocasio-Cortez agreed on the matter.

AOC'S HUDDLES SPARK INTRIGUE AND IRE

Ocasio-Cortez's conversations with Gaetz and Gosar sparked intrigue. The liberal Twitter account MeidasTouch tweeted Tuesday that someone should get a lip reader to decipher the conversation between Gaetz and Ocasio-Cortez.

Meanwhile, the conversations attracted the ire of the right-wing congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has broken with her House Freedom Caucus and supported McCarthy's speakership bid.

Rebuking both Gosar and Gaetz, Greene tweeted Tuesday that "making plans with Democrats is not what any Republican should be doing." Greene also expressed concern that Gaetz, Gosar, and Ocasio-Cortez had found something in common in not supporting McCarthy, tweeting: "First Gaetz and Good, now Gosar. They never talk to her."

Representatives for Gaetz, Gosar, Greene, and Ocasio-Cortez did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Meanwhile, the House failed to elect a Speaker Tuesday as Republicans voted against McCarthy. This is the first time in a century that the House has not picked a Speaker on the first vote.

Voting is now expected to continue Wednesday.

Hey, so I have a question about my natal chart. My 12th and 6th houses are HUGE, how do I interpret that?

This is what we call intercepted houses. (I have the same exact ones!) Typically or in Whole Sign/Equal Sign House Systems, each sign has one house cusp it corresponds to but since in our charts there is are sister signs that has two cusps (for you it is Gemini/Sag) it means one sign duo is intercepted (Libra/Aries for the both of us).

The way I interpret it for myself is that I struggle to access these energies (Aries being in the 12h does not help). That I do not assert myself enough and that hurts me in reaching harmony and forming equal relationships in my life. In more 6h/12h terms, I do not take initiative in the matters of my mental health so it kind of erratically erupts in ways that is detrimental to peace in my day-to-day and doing things for my physical health in a balanced way. I am very all or nothing type of person (although there is a different place where that shows up in my chart). Doing the chore-like things very Virgo-ey, bordering on obsession or procrastination due to fear of never reaching perfection and in my 12h problems I pretend they do not exist or make myself the martyr instead of looking out for myself first.

But to live a balanced life we all need to access all 12 energies. The signs as each follows the previous all have a certain corrective function to them. Aries brings a cure for the Piscean haze, a rude awakening but you do have to start things, break barriers, put yourself first to do anything in this life. Libra says to Virgo that it does not have to be perfect, it has to be balanced. Perfection sucks the life out of art and neurosis makes people uncomfortable.

The challenge is integrating these two approaches. Using the Piscean empathy to heal your 12h wounds but moving past it into the natural progression of Aries. Using the gifts of Virgo organization and chiseling to your advantage but reaching through it to the wisdom your Jupiter in Libra holds, finding luck through balance in 6h themes.

So I have a scorpio sun, moon, mercury and pluto in 6th house. Somehow like in my head it's always been like scorpios are supposed to be like 'mysterious' or 'people who talk less' and yet I find myself talking A LOT and being 'somewhat' of an open book abt things which do not matter to me. For the secrets i have, im pretty distrustful and secretive, sure. I feel nothing like the scorpio archetype except the sensitive emotions and all.

I'd suggest looking at your rising too. Rising is what you portray to people, how people look at you, how you're perceived. That may help you find how you look at people and situations in general. If it is in some air sign or fire sign you could be talkative and seen as easily approachable and friendly by people.

And the other thing is that, just because you have a stellium in a sign, doesn't mean that you identify with that and that sign only. I'd also look at your other stelliums if you have any, in other houses or other signs. That too may influence your personality. Apart from that look at the major aspects to your stellium which you have mentioned above. It could affect how your placements manifest.

And lastly, look if you have intercepted houses in your chart. It may create some inconsistencies in relating to your sign. I have intercepted houses and i always have problems in identifying with many descriptions I read on here. For example, I have an intercepted 4th house and i have Lilith in it. So even though i have an Aries Lilith, i read both the descriptions of Aries in 4th house and Aries in 5th house.

So these maybe the reasons for you not relating to the sign of Scorpio even if u have a stellium within the sign.

Hey Barbie! I was curious if you believe that signs over houses also rule someone’s personality of that area somewhat, like some people do? Such as someone having Capricorn over the 4th house and even if they have no planets, their home life or attitude towards it has a Capricorn flavor!

Hmm, yes and no.

I think it’s less to do with the sign specifically, and more to do with the planet that rules the sign! An empty 4H Capricorn should look to where Saturn is in their chart and then see what house it’s in, and what aspects are hitting it. For example, if Saturn is in their 10H conjunct their midheaven, they may view family as a social signifier, and find it hard to separate the work and family spheres. It might also mean that they struggle with tying emotions in to work, but they might find it really rewarding to bring family in and create a family business! Since the 4H is empty, it’s not an area that they’ll struggle much with or focus too much conscious effort on in this lifetime, but they may find that finding a way to leverage the 4H in 10H matters will make things a bit easier for them in the long run.

I think it’s less about an empty house taking on the sign’s characteristics and more about what the relative ease of empty houses can do to help support the other houses that take up more conscious space. 💛

Hi! If you have time, maybe you can help me with this. I don't know if I have a 1st or 12th house stellium and if there is something else that u can tell me about my birth chart. Thank u so much for your kindness.

You have a 12th house stellium, but I would cross-reference using astro.com. You may notice some apps/sites place your placements differently even if you're using Placidus. I haven't had this issue really, but it does happen to some people so it's good to be aware of it. I like astro.com because the slice of the chart in which each house rules is extremely defined (in my opinion).

The reason why you have a 12th house stellium despite your Rising being in Leo is because of how your chart is set up. Every circle chart is 360 degrees, but specifically, each house starts with a degree - and your rising defines this. Your rising is at 25 degrees, so your chart starts at 25. Similarly, your Leo planets are at 8 degrees, 21 degrees, and 24 degrees. That is why your Venus seems to be RIGHT on the line starting your first house haha. So, because your planets is less than 25 degrees it is in the 12th house. I hope this helps :)

You may have issues with identifying as a Leo rising because your Leo planets are in the 12th house. You may feel shyer than other Leo risings. This is because the 12th house is where we feel vulnerable, so your communication/speech, sense of beauty, what you enjoy, and your drive and motivation in life are hidden from the world. It doesn't mean you aren't confident, but you may dream (literally or figuratively) about being confident and showing it to the world.

If I'm correct then your Virgo sun sign is being intercepted. This is because your second house should start with Virgo, but instead, it is as if the chart is 'engulfing' the Virgo-ruled part of your chart. You can see in the second screenshot you sent me it says the second house starts on Libra instead of Virgo. Virgo comes after Leo so you can see the issue here. This means that you can't tap into your ego (or soul), and understanding who you are seems extremely hard to tap into. Your life purpose may seem extremely muddled.

Interestingly enough, your North Node is in the intercepted house of Virgo. So, if you believe in destiny then you may be here on Earth to figure out exactly who you are. It is extremely muddled because of your South Node in the 7th house. Once again, these nodes represent destiny and past lives (specifically South Node represents past lives). So this means you probably were great at business partnerships, and partnerships, in general, and most likely a way to expand your horizons. 7th house placements are notorious for hinging their identity on how people perceive them, so this might have been an issue in a past life.

The White House Brushes Off Accusations of Hypocrisy, Courting TikTok While Seeking To Ban It.

As Congress And the National Security State continue their quest to ban the TikTok social media platform in the United States, President Joe Biden has been courting TikTok influencers to help him shore up youth support for his reelection. While the administration has been publicly casting TikTok as a grave threat to American security, the White House has quietly hosted a number of influencers to pitch them on pro-Biden content.

“Don’t jump, I need you!” Biden joked to a group of TikTok influencers as he walked by the group standing on the White House balcony on his way to deliver his State of the Union speech earlier this year.

In recent months, some of the biggest TikTok users with accounts boasting millions of followers have visited the White House, visitor logs reveal. Since September alone, some of the most prominent examples include:

Jason Linton, a dad who posts wholesome content about his family and whose TikTok account @dadlifejason has 13.8 million followers.

Michael Junchaya, (who goes by “Mikey Angelo” on the handle @mrgrandeofficial, 3.5 million followers), a young entertainer who specializes in rap recap videos.

Mona Swain (@monaswain, 1.9 million followers), theater enthusiast.

Alexandra Doten, space communicator, who previously worked for NASA (going by “Astro Alexandra” @astro_alexandra, 2.3 million followers).

Andrew Townsend (going by “Papi Dre” @andrewtowns, 3.1 million followers).

Alex Pearlman (@pearlmania, 2.6 million followers), comedian.

Josh Helfgott (@joshhelfgott, 5.5 million followers), LGBTQ+ advocate.

Perhaps the biggest TikToker hobnobbing at the White House was Oneya Johnson, a viral sensation famous for his angry reaction videos (@angryreactions) boasting 27 million followers. He visited the White House on September 27. (Johnson has since deleted his account after being arrested for domestic violence.)

Each of these TikTokkers’ meetings was coordinated by White House deputy director of partnerships, Morgan MacNaughton, who herself has a background with the company. She was hired away last year from Palette, a social media talent management company that specializes in TikTok personalities. While there, MacNaughton helped found the political group “TikTok for Biden” (since renamed “Gen-Z for Change”). Many of the TikTok users who visited the White House are themselves represented by Palette.

In 2022, Palette received a $200,000 payment from the Democratic National Committee for paid media, Federal Election Commission data shows. According to the Washington Post’s Taylor Lorenz, Palette was paid a retainer from the DNC to cover expenses for eight TikTok creators to travel to Washington in hopes of wooing them in the run-up to the midterm elections, resulting in an Oval Office meeting with Biden.

Anita Dunn, senior adviser to the president, told The Intercept that MacNaughton “helped to get POTUS’s message out to more audiences.”

“The reason Morgan’s position exists is because we knew the work she was capable of: discovering, ideating and leading creator talent,” Christian Tom, director of the White House’s Office of Digital Strategy, told The Intercept. “In just under a year at the White House, she has driven on many digital creator projects that have been vital to our digital strategy.”

With Biden’s reelection campaign in full swing, it would hardly be surprising that they’re meeting with influencers whose videos reach millions of Americans — were it not for the administration’s national security rhetoric about the app’s purported threat. Earlier this month, Biden raised his concerns about TikTok during a call with Chinese President Xi Jinping, their first contact since November. Biden administration officials have raised hypothetical concerns about the Chinese ownership of TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance.

Public opinion on banning TikTok is sharply divided, with support tending to come from older Americans but marked opposition coming from youth. Biden’s support for the legislation has irked even some of his most ardent supporters.

“There are clearly some First Amendment concerns here and to do this in an election year seems wrong to me,” Harry Sisson told The Intercept. Sisson describes himself as a “pro-Biden content creator” and frequently uses his TikTok account (@harryjsisson, 800k followers) to advocate for the president and blast his opponents. (Sisson has himself visited the White House and is represented by Palette.)

“There are over 170 million Americans on TikTok, many of which get their news from the app, and to take that away and give Trump a talking point only hurts the Democratic Party,” Sisson said.

While White House visitor logs are only available through this past September, it is clear that TikTok influencers have continued to frequent the White House. When Biden gave his State of the Union speech in March, Sisson was one of dozens of social media influencers, including TikTok stars, invited to the White House where he spoke to his 800,000 followers during Biden’s address. The influencers sat on the White House balcony and watched as Biden headed over to the Capitol to deliver his speech.

Though the Biden administration has directly consulted on the creation of the legislation that could ban TikTok, the Biden campaign has embraced the app, creating an official account in February. The decision has drawn criticism from even some of Biden’s most stalwart allies.

“I’m a little worried about a mixed message,” Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said of the decision.

The White House, for its part, has brushed off accusations of hypocrisy, pointing to the fact that the federal ban on the use of TikTok on government devices is still in place and applies to White House officials, referring questions to the Biden campaign.

The campaign has said that it will “continue meeting voters where they are.”

Unless, of course, the app is banned.

Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida said Thursday he's certain that House Democrats will not change tack and elect a moderate Republican for Speaker — and if they do, he'll resign.

Gaetz was speaking with the Fox News host Laura Ingraham and was asked about the possibility of Democratic representatives breaking ranks. Ingraham earlier Thursday night said on her show that there may be a scenario in which the Democratic Party helped elect Rep. Kevin McCarthy or another Republican so that "both parties share power on the committees."

Gaetz disagreed.

"I'm on the floor, Laura. These 212 Democrats are going to vote for Hakeem Jeffries every single time," the Florida Republican told Ingraham. "He is a historic candidate for them. They are not going to cleave off under any circumstance. I assure you of that."

"If Democrats join up to elect a moderate Republican, I will resign from the House of Representatives. That is how certain I am. I can assure your viewers: That won't happen," Gaetz added.

Gaetz was referring to House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who will become the first Black congressional party leader when he's sworn in. Jeffries secured all 212 votes from his party for the 11 speakership ballots held as of Thursday.

McCarthy is vying for the Speakership but has failed 11 consecutive times to secure the 218 votes needed. He now needs to convince the 20 hardliners — dubbed "Never Kevins," a crew of congresspeople blocking his Speakership bid — that he's the man for the job.

Gaetz might have some cause for confidence. On Tuesday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York was spotted speaking with Gaetz on the House floor. The Democratic congresswoman told The Intercept that during that conversation, she assured Gaetz that her party would not help McCarthy get the votes he needed.

"McCarthy was suggesting he could get Dems to walk away to lower his threshold," Ocasio-Cortez told The Intercept of her conversation with Gaetz. "And I fact-checked and said absolutely not."

Other Democrats also struck a similar tone, making it clear that they would not throw McCarthy a lifeline.

"At the end of the day, this is a Republican mess," Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna told CNN earlier in the week. "This is a failure of them to govern. This is their problem to fix."

Gaetz is a prominent figure in the "Never Kevin" movement. Before the first speakership vote Tuesday, he delivered a scathing rebuke of the California congressman.

The Florida congressman has also been trolling McCarthy and mocking him for his consistent failures. On Tuesday, Gaetz posted on Twitter a letter to J. Brett Blanton, the Architect of the Capitol, asking why McCarthy was allowed to work from the Speaker's Suite despite not yet landing the job.

"What is the basis in law, House rule, or precedent to allow someone who has placed second in three successive Speaker elections to occupy the Speaker of the House Office?" Gaetz wrote in his letter. "How long will he remain there before he is considered a squatter?"

Gaetz has over the past three days consistently voted to block McCarthy from securing the speakership. On Thursday, Gaetz voted for former President Donald Trump to be Speaker, even after McCarthy made significant concessions to the "Never Kevin" camp.

McCarthy was initially confident in his bid for Speaker after winning the nomination at a House GOP leadership meeting in November, following the midterm elections.

But members of the far-right House Freedom Caucus threw a wrench into McCarthy's campaign, saying they wouldn't support his bid unless he committed to less government spending and agreed to give the party more power to remove the speaker.

Representatives for Gaetz and McCarthy did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
