A good place to look to the future
Is when you are sat at the sea
With the salt up to your ankles
And a view of the end of the pier
You may look down at your model's feet
And wish that you’d just float away
And the weather here is overcast
And the sea is the same shade of grey
So the landscape before you
Looks just like the edge of the world
But to the left side and the right side
Either way is a crazy golf course
The sea is a good place (The sea is a good place)
To think of, to think about the future

reblog to give the prev a hot chocolate with (optional) whipped cream and marshmallows
[Doesn't apply to Harry Potter fans, no hot chocolate for you. JKR is an irredeemable bigot]

in classic /derogatory) tumblr fashion the boop-o-meter isn't accessible. For screen reader users it just says the numbers, not what they represent. I'll just say in case anyone here uses a screen reader that the thing on top of your feed is the boop-o-meter, the first number is boops given by you, the second is boops received by you and the third is total boops on the platform

Seeing stuff about it being normal to be sad about being aroace and I just want to say it's also normal to not be sad about it at all. To never have been sad about it. To never become sad about being aroace. Example: me :)
The second I learned it was humanly possible not to marry someone I was like yayy!! hurray!! that's me right there, unmarried forever! what a luxury!
When I later found out aromanticism and asexuality existed I was like: wait that's a thing yayy!!!! That's me!! It's a thing!! :D
And then with the aromantic community being so cool it's even more awesome!
Being aroace is wonderful!!

this is a reminder that these wonderful websites exist:
aroworlds.org - aromantic stories and stuff, mostly by K A Cook. aroworlds is also on tumblr
digitaltransarchive.com - well, digital trans archives. yeah. you can read old documents, look at pictures of trans people from before. all the way to like 1700s. For example browsing by topic (they have a long list of them)
azejournal.com - aro/ace/agender multimedia journal. there are some interesting formats. but above all it's a nice way to read reflections about aspec people (do agender people usually get included in aspec? Uhm now they do I suppose).
alternativeto.com - it's just kinda neat. a useful website for finding alternatives to whatever website or app
I also have a decent list of coding related ones if anyone's interested (just send an ask or something)
and a decent list of Norwegian websites and apps. which yeah, send an ask or something.

honestly one of the most bizarre things in the world in my opinion is how people can recommend books where one of the key things driving the plot is romance and not mention it. like "oh this sci-fi book is so good", but in reality it's romance sci-fi.

people who say all music is about love underestimate how many songs are about drugs and sobriety.
(reblogs are off because someone started talking about how x songs are actually about love)

I just realized people here probably know more languages than other places on the app/online. This is supposed to be a biased poll, I wanna see how biased.
How many languages can you speak & are you learning?
defining this as any language you know more than 30 words* in. Cause yeah.
*by words I include signs in sign language and such. Like, it doesn't have to be writable, or have a pronunciation. but it has to mean something.
Also, Norwegian bokmål/Norwegian nynorsk count as one. And same with similar stuff. If you know two really similar languages you have to know 30 really unique words in each for it to count. (in bokmål/nynorsk "hode/hovud" doesn't count, but "høve/anledning" does count)
so it's languages you know + languages you are learning but don't really know.
