“I learnt to love like a man – to love without feelings. And I shall never forget this lesson.” Abandoned at birth by her father and growing up as the daughter of a fisherman, #Satyavati knew that she was the only one who would be able to take control of her own life. As destiny brings her to Shantanu, she not only gets her freedom but also the throne of Hastinapur herself. However, nothing comes for free in a world ruled by power and politics. And thus begins her journey to become the heartless and ruthless queen she is famous as. But what led her to this fate? Pick up this book to know more. When I had finished reading my first book by the author, I knew that I would be picking up another one very soon. Kavita Kane in “The Fisher Queen’s Dynasty”, (@rupa_publications ) again, captures the raw and fearless spirit of a woman facing the injustices thrown at her. Satyavati’s character takes you through a rollercoaster ride throughout the read in which you are bound to sway between the extremes – hating her and sympathizing with her. The writing style is powerful from the start to the end and the simplistic language keeps you engaged. One thing that I love about reading Kavita Kane’s books is the gateway I find to so many new angles and dimensions to a story that I have been listening to or reading about from the very childhood which makes the entire reading process so much more interesting and perspective. I really feel like her books should be read by everyone as they provide a very diverging point of view of known tales, with strong women characters driving the storyline. Happy Reading! #qotd – Which Mahabharata character do you think met the worst fate? Or which type of mythology would you like to explore more? ‘- Posted @withregram • @bookish_misha • #kavitakane #thefisherqueensdynasty #mythologicalfiction #satyavati #mythologybooks #mythologygram #mustreadbooks #rupapublications #mythologyreads #indianmythologybooks #indianmythology #mahabharata #bookgirl #bookgraphy #bookgrammer #bookishgirl #bookinstagram #flatlaybookstagram #womeninmythology #girlreader https://www.instagram.com/p/CnQvbl4rL9R/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Posted @withregram • @amateur_.reader Kavita Kané @kavitakane (born 5 August 1966) is an Indian writer and former journalist. She is known for writing Mythology-fiction. All of her books are based on Indian mythology. She has stated a perspective for the side-lined characters in mythology who bear utmost importance in the execution of the plot. Her female centric books gave away the deeper sentiments of the characters who have suffered the consequences of the wars or wrong decisions made by the protagonists of the mythological tales. Even though their presence was a mere fraction of the size of the great epics in our mythology, people tend to forget their contribution in the happenings which have been given limelight by out author. A senior journalist with a career of over two decades, Kavita Kané is a full time author of the best-sellers Karna's Wife (2013), Sita's Sister (2014), Menaka's Choice (2015), Lanka's Princess (2016), Fisher Queen’s Dynasty (2017), Ahilya’s Awakening (2019) and Saraswati’s Gift (2021); all of them on marginalised characters whom she finds especially fascinating. . . . #kavitakane #authorsofinstagram #readersofinstagram #readersclub #feminism #bookstagram #authorscommunity #sitassister #lankasprincess #menakaschoice #thefisherqueensdynasty #ahalyasawakening #sarasvatisgift #bookishposts #authorsofig #mythology #indianmythologybooks #readmorebooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CgRuPaNr4pk/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

"AHALYA'S AWAKENING" BY KAVITA KANE @kavitakane - Ram touches ‘Ahalya’ Rishi Gautam's wife who was turned into stone because of her husband’s curse. That all I knew about the story of Ahalya but, Kavita Kane's "Ahalya’s Awakening" gave me a new dimension and many details regarding Ahalya’s story. Although, this is the first book I have read from the author and I must say now I am a big fan of her writing. Kavita Kane's writing has this knack of presenting mythological stories, and especially presenting them with a female perspective is amazing. The book is about the story of three characters- Ahalya, Rishi Gautam, and Indra which is my favorite character. Indra’s character seemed more developed and layered that actually wants you to know more about it. Ahalya’s part was a bit tedious at first but later starts to build and unfolds further. Rishi Gautam's character was a little disappointing and gave lesser details to us. The book is gripping, starts at a slow pace but later kept me intriguing till the end. The book perfectly showed the understanding of the complexities in a marriage and the story was relevant to today’s world. Even the book showed the forgotten women of Indian mythology whose story we haven't heard about. I will surely recommend this book for those who love mythological fiction and even if you are not a fan try this book, I am sure you are gonna like it. “ Posted @withregram • @ayhkid_reads Pages: 330 Genre: Mythological Fiction/ English #ahalyasawakening #kavitakane #indianmythologybooks #mythologicalfiction #bookstagrammer #indianbooks #bookstagram #bookstagramindia #bookreview #booklover #bookporn #instadaily #igreads #books #newbookstagram #recommendedreads #readersofinstagram #readmorebooks #bookstagram #bookrecommendations #bookstagram #bookstagramindia #bookreview #booklover #bookporn #bookbookbook #igreads #readersofinstagram #readmorebooks #bookstagram #bookrecommendations #bookstagramindia #bookaholic #booknerd https://www.instagram.com/p/CL6Bg0DgMN8/?igshid=1ta6hcblv9oes
