a one week break in March accidentally turned into a whole month away. but I was as the kids would say - going through it. sort of still in it, but we move. very excited to be back writing and sharing with you all. also a massive thanks to every single person who tagged me in any of their wip wednesday’s, seven sentences and inspiration weekends posts over the past month <3

TK gasps and Carlos knows he’s got him right where he wants him.

“How about you tell me a little more about how hot I look then hmm,” he says, his thumb dipping into the waistband of TK’s boxers momentarily and snapping the tight elastic back against his skin.

TK plays along with the charade, “only devastatingly so Reyes,” he answers.

Carlos stifles a laugh, “Carlitos, Reyes, what’s next? Niño?”

“Well only if you’d like,” he teases back, wagging his tongue at him and stifling his own laugh.

He groans out a shut up before TK is pressing him back against the fence and pulling him into a sloppy kiss. TK’s delicious wet tongue sliding against his has Carlos’ c*ck stirring in his jeans, and the pure relief almost has him forgetting where they are.

He tugs him back sharply by the wisps of hair at his nape and unlatches their mouths, TK whining at the loss of contact.

“Baby not here,” he says, and TK ignores him, urgently moves to meet their mouths again, presses himself and his own quickly hardening c*ck into Carlos’.

“Why not Carlitos? You afraid the goats might see?” he baits, nipping at his chin.

“More like my mother you brat,” he huffs out, “but you already knew that.”

“Well we can’t go disgracing your virtue at ‘casa de Reyes’ now can we?” he says with a smirk.

“Not as much as you’d like to.”

TK sighs dreamily, as if he’s picturing all of the ways he wants to f*ck Carlos and be f*cked by him this weekend, none of which will happen if Carlos gets his way.

“I’m irresistible baby, you’ll be inside me by sundown,” he assures, using the moment to lift the bottom of his shirt up, wiping his face with it, and exposing his defined abdomen, enjoying the way Carlos can’t help but to gawk at him.

Carlos blinks and fixes him with the most unimpressed look he can muster, shaking his head in exasperation.

TK grins, “it was worth a try at least,” he concedes, knows that there’s an almost zero chance Carlos will indulge him any more than he already has.

He surges forward to press a final chaste kiss to the corner of Carlos’ mouth, tries to leave him wanting more as he separates their sun warmed, sweaty bodies.

Have one final snippet from the Hallmark fic. It's finished, I am hoping to post it a chapter per day on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, depending on factors. But it's coming soon either way!

Carlos appears beside him with a tray of festive looking drinks, something red and fizzy in margarita glasses adorned with sprigs of rosemary. Marjan has an orange box in her hands and nudges Paul out of the way so she can begin to set the game up on the coffee table.

“I’ve never played this before,” TK tells them, before he remembers Marjan already knew that.

“Don’t worry, it’s fun.”

“We’ll teach you,” Paul adds. “It isn’t that complicated. And we play on teams so Carlos can help you.”

“Hey, who says I want the newbie on my team?” Carlos asks.

TK puts a faux-offended hand to his chest and Carlos winks at him, holding the tray out so Nancy can take a glass.

“Oh, no, that one’s TK’s,” he says, turning it on his palm to present her with a different one.

They all look the same, although when TK takes a closer look he notices a blue rubber band around the stem of the first glass Nancy had tried to take.

“Ooh, a special drink for his new man,” Nancy teases.

“Pull up some chairs, guys,” Marjan calls from where she’s settled cross-legged onto the floor.

“I don’t know how you sit like that,” Paul remarks as he tugs over a striped sofa chair.

“Prayer and yoga,” Marjan answers.

Carlos finishes making the rounds with the tray, getting to TK last. A few feet away from where the others are gathering, TK feels his cheeks flush with embarrassment as he tentatively asks, “Um, what is it?”

“Cranberry juice and ginger ale.” Carlos lifts the remaining glass up and quietly, so only TK can hear him, says, “I made you one without vodka. I can add some, if you want, though. I wasn’t sure.”

“Oh.” TK blinks.

He takes the drink, their fingers brushing over the stem of the glass as he does. It occurs to him that he never told Carlos he didn’t drink. Carlos knows so little about his history; TK revealed in a low moment outside the diner that he’d been to rehab, but that is the extent of Carlos’s knowledge on the subject. It strikes TK as surprisingly thoughtful, both that he remembered and that he made TK his own drink so TK wouldn’t have to turn a cocktail down in front of everyone, and he feels the warmth of that spreading down his neck and stirring in his stomach.

He looks up, realizing he’s gone too long without speaking and finding uncertainty in Carlos’s dark eyes. TK shakes his head and smiles. “No, this is … thank you.”

Carlos returns his smile, the slightest bit of tension leaving his shoulders as he lifts his arm and briefly rubs TK between the shoulder blades.

Sharing a section from Where All This Love Comes From, Chapter 7: A Boy's Best Friend (posting on Sunday!)

In which teenage Carlos has been unceremoniously dragged by his parents to visit a newborn baby, and he isn't happy about it. Luckily, there's also a dog. And a boy.

He’s escaped to the kitchen, because here he can hang out with their elderly golden retriever – a glamorous white-coated lady called Zelda – and he’s massaging her head with salad tongs when he notices the time change on his digital watch. For some reason it makes him fiercely angry, and it’s the exact moment Gabriel wanders in to find him like this: Crouched on the terracotta floor tiles, looking furious, while an ancient pup appears to be in a state of total ecstasy because her ear is being rubbed by a large wooden fork.

“There you are,” Gabriel says, carrying his empty coffee mug to the sink. “Everyone was wondering where you got to. Give me that.” He scoffs and snatches the salad tongs from Carlos, dumping them in the sink with his mug.

Zelda whimpers at the loss, so Carlos strokes her snout with his thumb.

“When are we going home?” Carlos asks it like a challenge, stares at the time of his life ticking away.

12:01, his watch says.

He’s expecting his father to huff, to stretch out a pointing arm and demand he get his moody ass back into the living room and coo over the boring baby, but that doesn’t happen. When it doesn’t happen, Carlos finds the courage to glance up. Gabriel is drying his hands on a red gingham seersucker cloth, regarding him with a half-smile.

“Not really your scene, huh?” Gabriel says.

Carlos shrugs with one shoulder.

“I get it. But the girls want to stay.”

“I know.”

“How about you and me go for lunch?”

Carlos gazes at his dad distrustfully, rising to his feet. “Just us?”

“Yeah. I want to take my boy for some food.”

“I’m really, really hungry,” Carlos tells him, quiet and ashamed, like it’s a terrible secret, even though him eating everybody out of house and home is probably the most well-established fact about Carlos Reyes.

Gabriel laughs, slapping the cloth down. “I’ll take you to Mockingbird,” he says, “It’s been a long time.”

Mockingbird Diner. Sometimes, when Gabriel’s shifts had allowed it, he’d meet Carlos at the school gates and take him for a milkshake. When did that stop? It feels like forever ago, but when Carlos thinks about it, he can smell salted fries. He can feel himself holding an ice-cold glass. He’d always get vanilla. If Gabriel had a milkshake too, he’d always get chocolate.

It’s a hectic weekend lunchtime at Mockingbird, but a booth by the window becomes free as they enter. A friendly college-age boy buses them over. The table is still messy with evidence of its former occupants. Carlos watches with interest as half-empty lemonade glasses and plates scattered with crumbs are lifted out of sight. He likes the boy’s hands – the way they open and close and flex as he works to clean up. The way his tanned forearms, with a clear seam of defined muscle, protrude through rolled white shirt sleeves. He probably plays sport at UT. Carlos imagines him as a baseballer.

“I’ll grab you some menus, sirs,” the boy says cheerfully after spritzing and wiping down their table.

Carlos accidentally follows the boy with his eyes as he walks away. When his gaze finally travels to Gabriel – Gabriel is staring back curiously. He doesn’t know how long his dad has been observing him for.

SO PJO CAME OUT TODAY

and i have a lot of thoughts

this is just me screaming into the void about this show that i’ve been excited about since it’s been announced.

i haven’t personally really read the books in a bit, so if i am remembering things incorrectly or forgetting if something was in the books or not, forgive me (and correct me and my terrible memory)

EPISODE 1: I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher

first off - chapter titles. i knew about this a while ago but im so happy we are doing this

getting the whole speech from percy in the beginning oh we are so back

i will never be able to speak highly enough about sally jackson. best fictional mom ever and i love her with all of my heart.

the “hold fast perseus. brave the storm” parallel at the beginning and end of the episode oh i’m sick to my stomach

the fountain scene felt a little… goofy? from what i remember percy just remembers her ending up in the fountain,like it sounds like he kinda blacks out. maybe that’s actually how it was in the books, but i did imagine it differently.

grover and brunner being the KINGS of gaslighting

percy is stronger than i could ever be if grover exposed me like that i couldn’t talk to him for like a year.

the biggest issue i’ve seen everyone talk about: gabe. i understand WHY they made him how he is in the tv show. it’s a disney show, they can’t have him be completely book accurate putting his hands on sally and threatening percy for money so he can play poker, but i feel like this doesn’t fit with how he ends up at the end of book 1. maybe we will see a more ‘evil’ side to him through the news interviews and stuff, or he will have a different ending, but i feel like the way he acts now doesn’t justify his end in book 1 that i expect to see in the tv show.

i find the whole sally explaining the gods to percy interesting. it fits for the tv show more, but i love book percy just getting forced into camp half blood without any real knowledge just like “what the fuck is going on”

grover dropping the fact he is 24 in a super intense scene is very grover

that first shot of thalia’s tree lit up by the LIGHTNING gave me CHILLS

the entire minotaur scene was incredible. sally’s speech to grover and percy. percy killing the minotaur. insane

not to mention sally taking percy’s jacket to throw off the minotaurs scent? such a cool choice

EPISODE 2: I Become Supreme Lord of the Bathroom

ik that the whole 'Mr. D trying to use percy to get a drink' thing is supposed to be a little joke, but its also such a good way to explain the whole "gods can get their kids to steal shit for them because they can't do it themselves" without having a whole dramatic moment explaining it.

in my head I imagined the entire camp being very heavily wooded, maybe that's just the movies having some influence over me when it comes to visualization, but it was cool to see the camp in the actually valley in a very book accurate portrayal.

OH THE CABINS MY EYES WERE GLUED THE WHOLE TIME

I personally feel like the way they have chosen to portray clarisse is quite different from the books, but I absolutely love it. i was not a fan of her for a while in the books, but I love her immediately in this version.

also did we get to 'see' the cloven council in tlt? I don't think we did, and I like seeing it in prep for sea of monsters.

the entire scene of percy praying to his mom breaks me. oh my god. favorite scene in the entire show so far. it breaks my heart he loves and misses her so much.

maybe its just different seeing all these characters portrayed well on the screen, but she feels super different than book annabeth but also exactly the same. im not 100% how to explain it but there is no one better to play annabeth than leah

if this show is your first introduction to the series. read the books! or at least the lightning thief. and for the love of god LISTEN TO THE MUSICAL. I cannot stress enough how good of a portrayal of the book it is and it is my all time favorite interpretation of the books (although this show may take that top spot soon).

they made aang leaving an accident. like he didn't deliberately try to run away from his problems, it was just coincidence on a midnight fly and he even says he will go back when he clears his head (then everyone else frames it as intentional??? Even himself???)

Kataras character literally feels like her ember island counterpart and made her perfect and I hate that she doesn't get mad at aang talent at all because she can't be TOO MEAN NOOO WHATEVER WILL WE DO IF SHE HAS FLAWS??? OR A REALISTIC REACTION TO FRUSTRATION OF NOT BEING ABLE TO DO SOMETHING SHE VALUES A LOT CUZ ITS HARD??? (took away all of her development about having to be the bigger person and gave it to sokka??? Fun loving joking sokka??? Even tho it ties in with her toph conflict later?)

jet blows up things with jelly and hurt civilians but…the entire point of jet was that he hurt people who did nothing wrong and there was definitely fire benders doing something wrong so he can justify his actions?? And the entire point was that he needed to REALIZE his actions were unforgivable before moving on from his vengeance to ba sing se?But now he does nothing wrong because we can't have the pretty boy terrorist be TO00000 BAD

i get that we are supposed to emphasize the power of friendship thing in the bumi episode but it just seems like instead of aang realizing he is going to make hard choices with no right answer his friends take that decision/responsibility AWAY from him? And the point in the show is that while he cant rely on others and has to do it alone???

azula sounds like she's complaining about zuko like a normal teenager gossiping to her friends even tho her entire beach episode was emphasizing how she is NOT A REGULAR KID AND DOESNT ACT LIKE IT. Or being mad zuko got banished and got himself an opportunity? No azula only cares about her dads orders/approval at this point she doesn't take zuko seriously as a threat? She was glad he was gone and tried to take him prisoner? Complaining that she is "risking her life undercover?" Did we watch??? The same source material???

im a mixed bag on how they handled suki (great to show that she is unsociable from being an isolated warrior all her life but I hated that they just…beat up sokka for no reason by taking out his misogyny arc…. And didn’t frame it as a bad enough thing?? And then they just… got over it? With no real apology? Cuz it’s fine now that they think the other one is hot!! Problems solved!!!)

i like that they made jet and kataras relationship less “ooooo hot bad boy!!!” And more a mutual relationship (then they threw it out the window for no reason cuz JET IS BAD BUT NOT TOO BAD! UHHH general warning for blood/murder/war crimes (kind of)/general fantasy violence.

I'll start this off by pasting a few of her character stories. In Genshin characters get several plus one that explains how they got their vision. This is Zale's Vision story.

Zale was only 15, but she carried the weight of centuries of suffering in her eyes that had already lost their shine as she slipped out of her house in the dead of night a few weeks after Ajax's disappearance. With a portable alchemy kit in hand, she carefully unearthed something stealthily marked with a trowel, digging until the snow and ice finally revealed a perfectly preserved dragon.

With shaking hands, Zale plunged her fist into the chest cavity, extracting the bleeding and still beating heart from the carcass. She squeezed it in her fist, the organ spurting blood onto her clothes from her show of force, and with a new resolve she set to work collecting the ruby red liquid in a beaker directly from the source.

She didn’t add much—just some slime jelly and powder from the dragon’s tooth—before she put the concoction over a small flame and called it done. She took a deep breath, steeling herself, before throwing her head back and downing the entire beaker in one go, frightened tears streaming down her face as she flirted with death.

Fire, red and noxious, spilled from her lips as she cried out in agony, clutching at her chest as if she felt she was being consumed from the inside. In her last moment of clarity, she ripped a scale from the dragon’s body and sliced herself down the middle of her chest, using the pain as a forceful anesthetic as the snow at her feet turned pink and red with her blood.

A Vision, red as the fire and blood, materialized in the fist still clutching the dragon’s heart."

So, essentially, Zale is born a few years before Ajax in Morepesok, Snezhnaya. Childhood buddies with him and my bestie @shimichazukes's insert Piper. Ajax is a little bit of a jokey jokester and gets himself almost killed falling into Abyss, aka a really fucking bad place to be. This makes everyone's lives explode. Zale, being the oldest and the one always yearning for adventure that egged young Ajax to take more risks, feels partly responsible for his disappearance. She grew up pretty sickly and wanted to go into academia, but Snezhnaya values the strong and not necessarily the bookish yet adventurous.

Due to feeling responsible for Ajax's disappearance and feeling helpless as Piper takes the fall for supposedly luring Ajax into it (his parents suck by the way), Zale gets desperate and decides to try something really fucking stupid—eat a dragon's preserved heart. She found said dragon preserved in Snezhnaya's endless ice and snow, marking it for herself for later study without telling anyone. This almost kills her, but she is granted a Vision and ends up pretty...scary. Zale changes dramatically, Ajax comes back but to the left, and Piper is left looking like

So long story short we all get drafted into the military. Piper enlists first because if you're an orphan in Snezhnaya and you make trouble you get sent to, in their words, "gay baby jail," aka the House of the Hearth. Ajax's parents want to get rid of him so he gets scouted second, quickly rising to Harbinger #11, Tartaglia/Childe. Zale is absolutely consumed with guilt and rage and is pressured more and more by the whispers of her parents/the other townspeople saying she's a monster and would do better being useful for her nation, so when the Fatui start playing the typical death cult card of making the very vulnerable and lonely person feel like they're part of a "family" she completely folds and joins as well.

Consuming dragon remains made Zale a little fucked up, to put it mildly. She's essentially superhuman, but due to being human FIRST really pushing herself hurts her. A lot. This is not helped by the fact that once some annoying officer of hers eggs her on to try and kill an Archon (aka a god), which happens to be Morax/Zhongli, and she nearly SUCCEEDS, she is promoted to Harbinger as well and dubbed #0, The Deceiver, or Covielle. (Harbingers are ranked by power, with a smaller number indicating higher power). Her main assignment? Murder of minor gods. She builds up quite a lot of what Genshin lore calls "god residue," and her pain is incredibly bad as a result. For anyone familiar, this is what Xiao deals with. Piper is infected with something similar later. Zale is so willing to carry out these murders because she feels cheated. Aren't gods supposed to protect or at least assist their subjects? If so, why have they forsaken her loved ones? If gods are so willing to abuse their power, she feels she should just take it away from them.

Eventually, she catches on to the fact that something is amiss with the Fatui. She realizes how badly Tartaglia is treated and how his unhealthy habit of viewing himself as simply a weapon is fed into by being used as one, sees Piper fall ill with Tatarigami poisoning as an intelligence officer, and sees how the other Harbingers seem hellbent on making sure she doesn't know the full extent of their plans, intentionally left in the dark and only used as some sort of goon to do the dirty work.

Thus, she leaves without giving anyone prior notice. This is described in another of her character stories.

She thought she was going to die. Fighting so many of her old coworkers all at once was the most taxing thing she had ever done, and she had fought gods for the Tsaritsa. Her Vision, rendered useless by something, hung grey at her side, her Electro Delusion shining a lurid purple as she fought relentlessly to keep from being apprehended. Scaramouche was particularly merciless—she was certain most if not all of the blood streaming down her face and arms was his fault. At least Ajax, her best friend, stood still, making no move to help or hurt her.

She certainly could have picked a better time to turn in her two weeks’ notice. But, of course, everyone was home and awaiting their next assignment when she chose to cut ties. To cut ties as a Harbinger meant your life was to be cut short as well, but Zale had never played by the rules.

For the first time in her life, the Iron Dragon ran. She stumbled through the snow, staining the countryside red with blood and lightning as she made for the border. She would not cause any more suffering. She would not be the reason for any more pain and loss. The gods were wrong, but so too was the Tsaritsa a god. Zale would be taken in by her ruse no longer.

She wasn’t sure how, but she managed to board a ship heading Archons knew where, desperately clinging to life as she lied through her teeth to the captain and said it was an Abyss Order attack that had her in such a state. The boat docked many hours later in some foreign port, and she fell to her knees on the shores of what she would later realize was Liyue.

All she remembered was someone calling to her before her body finally gave up and fainted.

She was battered, bruised, and bleeding, but those angry sparks in her eyes had dulled to cinders, her Vision grey and empty at her breast as she stumbled from the ship and slid to the floor with her back to a stone wall. Her wounds were grave, and she looked as though she were going to pass away quietly at the docks, but that familiar brown coat from years before hauled her to her feet, asking quietly where she wanted to go.

She woke in a home that was not hers to a voice calling her that most certainly was not hers. It belonged to a man who was kind and warm, the polar opposite of the chill back home in Snezhnaya that had nothing to do with the climate. He was saying something —something about needing to take pills—while he dressed Zale’s wounds, and in her bruised and battered state Zale could have cried at how gentle the man was with her. She could not endanger someone so kind with her presence that tainted everything it touched.

Zale slipped out of the house in the dead of night, leaving naught but a note to say thank you and to not come looking for her again…lest trouble follow.

Far more alert, she marched on, away from Liyue and then away from the city of freedom whose freedom her very presence could endanger. She wasn’t stupid. She had seen the Fatui agents the city was crawling with, and she knew there would be a warrant out for her head. If she wanted to survive, her place was not among others. Dragonspine Mountain—cold, lonely, and unforgiving—felt like a fitting place for her. She ascended to the summit, clearing out monsters, braving unusually strong gales, and setting up a makeshift home sheltered by what looked to be an enormous nail.

As she curled into her fur cape, the familiar kiss of the frigid wind lulled her into her first deep sleep in a long, long time.

So, essentially, she hightails it to Liyue, gets nursed back to health by Zhongli and is given god residue management pills that he also gives to Xiao, and then hoofs it to Mondstadt and climbs Dragonspine to live out the rest of her days.

Aaaand then the Traveler shows up. She doesn't particularly want to be their bodyguard, but she also sort of wants a chance to start over and see the world...and maybe learn a little bit more about herself. So, she accepts, and then her story is more intertwined with the plot of the main game. There are some big plot beats that diverge a little bit from what Genshin actually does, namely the Golden House fight and the battle against the Shogun in Inazuma, but this is already long winded enough.

Oh, and one last thing.

That dragon she ate?

She'll eventually learn its identity, and it's an important one. TFW you accidentally complete a burial rite for the king of dragons and end up with an ancient god's power essentially eating you from the inside and telling your body to either adapt and become less human or die. Fun stuff. Never needed that stupid Vision and Delusion after all and the Fatui were just keeping your identity a secret so they could drip feed you Abyssal energy to corrupt you from the inside out so that you would do their bidding!

When playing cookie run I like to imagine i'm a friendly witch that's just sort of living with them.

do i fit into a house? probably not unless i use a spell, but the weathers good enough and theres soft candy grass, and when it rains I just shrink down and crash on one of their couches but otherwise i'm camping somewhere new most nights enjoying the twinkling stars. I work over at the bird tree wrapping up little gifts for them and making sure they always have their little magic supplies or- whatever they need all these axes for, i don't really know how they keep breaking them, and I admit it makes me nervous when pure vanilla is all like "oh this will help me bring peace to my people" and he's put in a request for an axe. But you know what it's not my business what they're up to.

Sometimes i scoop up cookies and carry them around and it's very wholesome and cozy and even the dragons are just little cookies so I can just carry them about in my pockets and we're all happy. Sometimes i struggle with madeline cause he insists on doing things on his own a lot, i suppose the republic didin't have a resident witch to keep everyone doing their chores so they can have their 50 axes they want so badly the other witches probably have said *something* about "playing with your food" but my food can make me cappucino's and they're bringing me little baskets of jelly beans and if they want to eat my little guys i am THROWING HANds. there will be a kaiju level WITCH THROW DOWN. Yes i was too emotional when i realized there was a 'welcome back' quest and they work so hard to welcome you back to the game yes i know it's just to make it easy for returning players to get back in but it was VERY EFFECTIVE in getting me invested again . yes shes a peppermint hot chocolate witch- though that may not convey well without color lol

ok ok so. i have a lot of stuff 4 grian so far so im gonna start with him.

first of all his horns r supposed to be somewhat like the evo symbol. shortly after the last edit he got kicked out of the brooding caverns early and they just kinda gave him over to whatever cult represents the watchers here. also it's my au and i get to decide what old grian content is canon. yhs is too. one of his horns got ripped out by sam while they were both like 3 sweep olds. also he dresses like a rust instead of a purple (w the makeup instead of facepaint. slay) because something something not wanting to associate with the other purplebloods.

for scar uhhhh. i just think he fits rlly well as a jade. cannot explain why. maybe it's lanque but he just gives me male jade vibes. also jellie is his lusus and thats important and everyone needs to know this. his whole story with jellie is kinda like crytum and platycat (if u havent played all of sbb, he never had a lusus and then got a cat one for emotional support after moving to the stronghold). scar's horns r also based off allay wings and i think they r rlly cool :D

i made mumbo a gold and i was gonna make his eyes red like redstone, but i thought he fit more like jentha with whatever the fuck she had going on. his horns r supposed to be redstone torches. dunno where he fits in the present though (ie second edit) maybe he died idk.

i have less 2 say abt ren and martyn since i dont remember much from 3l but i am so insane abt them. ren as a rust and martyn as an indigo :shoutpole: GET THIS. ren takes sestros place as ceo of the world basically but his second in command is on the complete other side of the spectrum. idk if the differing lifespan thing is canon in ve (like it is in aleph null) but it WOULD be funny if it was.
