Spamton Neo battle but Susie and Ralsei never show up to help Kris fight Spam.

The soul can’t knock Kris into fight shape due to their fear. Spam is winning by land slide and is about to land the finishing blow on Kris but for a second either due to Kris’ weakened state or just another momentary flash in Spam’s delirium he imagines Kris as a younger version of himself.

Not projection but just straight up him before everything went completely wrong, battered and bruised and down trodden and stops the attack to heal Kris as he’s no longer seeing Kris as an obstacle or similar case to himself but a direct instance that he can “save” sorta how he wanted help and to be saved when he was in that position years ago. 

Whether the soul takes a back seat to watch or is just being stuck in a stalemate with whatever force is afflicting Spam, it’s just Kris and Spam and their odd kinship of feeling like empty shells left in that basement...

#cue kris either going along with it for the sake of not having to kill the person that reminds them so much of their situation #or just waiting for the time to strike as spam neo is really dangerous #in this scenerio ig Kris is kinda acting as the angels handler while Spams the metaphorical angel #spams effectively their weird dog that thinks kris is like its adoptive pup or ward #this isnt an au but i like the idea of Spam having this base hatred of himself when he reflects directly on HIS person #but through another person he has a lot of sympathy and compassion for himself and want the versions he can't go back to to be happy #also based this idea off the idea that Spam was controled in a way Kris was with the caller #like pretending to be Spamton by mimicing behaviors but correctly until it didnt and spam couldnt keep up the ruse #so kris is doubly conflicted with taking down spam now cause like what if thats what ahappens to them? like the soul is just gone and kris #has no buffer and everyone leaves them cause they liked the fake them with the soul just like Spam with the caller #im rambling now so ill stop #spamton #spamton neo #spamton g spamton #kris dreemurr #deltarune #deltarune headcanon #deltarune au #utdr

Reconciliation

Old dome squadmates Trito and Kinoga get together at Trito’s place to catch up after years apart and a meeting by chance on the surface.

For the lore, includes stuff from splatoon Octo Expansion: Trito and Kinoga were a part of an octarian military squad living in the domes, Kinoga being their squad leader that many looked up to and admired. There were 6 of them who considered each other to be their closest friends. Upon hearing about the tests from Kamabo Co. and the allure of the Promised Land, Kinoga wished to seek it out in order to find a better life for their squadmates. A difficult decision, since it meant leaving them all behind, promising to come back and take them there.

Kinoga enters the metro trials and soon realizes that the Promised Land isn’t what they expected, their hope crumbling when they encounter one of their sanitized squadmates Agara, who followed suit to the metros soon after. Kinoga narrowly escapes, eventually making a break for the surface, carrying the shame of unwilling to return for their squadmates with them (it’s justified, of course, there might not be an easy way in, they might get caught again, Agara is gone)

Trito enters the Metro not too long after Kinoga does, wanting to catch up to them, and an accident that occurs in a test early on results in Trito’s near sanitization, giving him his scar. Terrified, and realizing what happens to his fellow octolings, Trito is unable to return to his squadmates, not wanting to break the news of their loved ones’ untimely fates. He hides away on the Metro until the events of OE happen and Agent 8 dismantles Kamabo, opening an opportunity to escape to the surface. Unwilling to face the possibilities of going back, Trito takes his chance to leave, starting a new life and feeling that it’s for the best if he doesn’t acknowledge it, though he missed his friends dearly.

Years later, Trito and Kinoga run into each other on the streets of Splatsville by chance, and the implications of them both being on the surface and alive hit them, having to carry the burden of leaving their loved ones behind and finding out the truth, knowing the other felt exactly the same, not knowing the fate of their squadmates and not wanting to think about the possibility of them being gone. They have a tearful reunion about it, and set up a meet later, to sit down and really talk, and get into a brief argument when the topic of returning to the domes comes up. Trito’s in disbelief that Kinoga never went back down to check on the rest of their squad, wanting them to have been a better person than him, who was too cowardly to do so. Eventually they do reconcile, and end up at Trito’s place to hook up, where the above comic takes place :]

Random question you don’t have to answer, but how far ahead in chapters are you in terms of writing vs what’s posted on AO3? Are you posting the minute you fully finish a chapter, or are you writing chapters in chunks and posting when you can?

Currently posted up to date. I previously had a "buffer" [tried to stay 3 chapters ahead, and post on a weekly/tenday basis] but most recently I had to dismantle my backlog to fix a plot hole, so it's instant posting.

I would like to get a little bit of a buffer again in the future, but the problem with buffers is they give me the chance to go, "Wait this isn't perfect. I should fix this." As opposed to what I usually do, which is, "Oh that could've been cooler. That's fine! I will find a way to integrate this later and/or I will find a way to write around this problem."

[Or alternatively, force myself to let it go, because it's a fanfic and if it isn't perfect, who cares? No one.]

So I don't think I can have more than 1 or 2 chapters written ahead now. Know thy limits and all that.
