Naughty turtles get put in the oven mitts of shame

I think Leo would be the worst about picking at his shell when he's shedding [Mikey is a close second] and we all know how Donnie problem solves.

Headcanons under the cut because brain go brr and I've been looking up stuff about turtle shedding [Donnie-centric because he's my favorite lol]

There are Donnie Mitts for everyone, but they can resist the temptation normally

Leo has tried for many years to be sneaky about picking at the scutes, but somehow Donnie Always Knows. Leo will continue to try out of spite, and he's certain that he will win one day

Donnie increases surveillance every year

When Mikey was younger he was really bad about it, but he's sorta learned how to keep his hands busy, mostly through baking. They go through food fast, but everyone is thankful for the sweet treats. Even if there ends up being way too much for even them.

Raph and Mikey both get a few chances to correct themselves if they accidentally start messing with them before they get the Donnie Mitts. Mostly because Donnie finds Leo's offense funny.

Donnie collects everything, and that includes the fallen scutes. He has a few small boxes hidden in his lab, all of them properly labeled and organized. Raph knows about this, and finds it weird, but has been sworn to secrecy.

At first Raph tried to hide the scutes from Donnie, but he found all the hiding spots, so Raph just started letting Donnie have them. Sometimes the fight just isn't worth it.

In exchange for his silence [and cooperation], Raph gets an annual pass to tell Donnie to do something, and Donnie will do it no questions asked.

If one of them starts getting sluggish, the rest know that their next week or 2 is going to be filled with doing absolutely nothing

Raph is normally the first person to notice when it's starting, and the last one to finish peeling since he's got such a big shell.

They all shed around the same time, leaving Donnie to be the temporary caretaker. He complains but secretly he likes feeling useful, and is very diligent [too diligent in Leo's opinion]

Splinter was so concerned the first time it happened. He thought they were dying.

He figured out that they would be fine quickly, but he still has a mini heart attack sometimes when he sees it.

If there was one time when Donnie will actually brag about being a softshell, it's peeling time.

Donnie was very confused when he was little, picking at his shell because he was trying to figure out why his brothers kept losing their shells

Splinter reassured little Donnie that it was normal for softshells [he was guessing] and Donnie eventually decided that he was simply built better

So me and SeeD have been working on fic and comic ideas for like two months now I think? And there's a scene I wrote in the middle of November for a fic, and then scrapped that fic idea, so I'm left with only that one scene. I still really like the scene and wanna use it, but I could not for the life of me think where it could fit.

I went over our ideas again today and finally found one where the scene fit. And not only does it fit, it makes more sense there than in the original idea XD

It's gonna make it so much easier to write the rest of that idea with a scene already existing so I'm hoping to find time this week to work on it and hopefully finish a first draft. You got the first page is SeeD's Size Upgrade AU, you might get the first fic in the Series of one-shots we're working on :D

I need u all to know I've been drawing Donnie for at least 3 hrs now, and when I went to color him I realized rise uses a cool way to shade the animation and I was like "oh cool shadows and lights haha- WAIT." Uh long story short I figured out how to shade in a way that I like :] so be prepared for a drawing with maybe too much shading

Okay so- it was normal day in the lair and Donnie just ran into common room to rumble about his newest invention/project.

After a couple of minutes he noticed that noone was listening to him, everyone ignored his monologue. He went quiet but as soon as he did so, he Heard "will you continue or..?" It was ofc reader. They were so interested and amazed by his imagination that they couldn’t stop listening to him!

After awhile, when he was done with his speech, reader and April had to go, bc you know, school and stuff. BUT before they did, reader remembered something, they came up to Donnie and gave him some materials he said he needed the previous week "OH! I almost forgot! You were rumbling about missing parts to your projects, and how you didn’t have luck nor time to find and get them, so i just thought im gonna get them for you…here!” And donnie just stares at reader with this shining eyes and slight blush

Donnie was used to being ignored. Truly he was. Still he would often talk about what he was working on to possibly find a solution to an issue, even if no one was listening.

So here he sat, in the living room with everyone else, yapping away about all the modifications he made on the Turtle Tank. Everyone else was doing something. Leo was reading a comic, Mikey was drawing, Splinter was watching tv, while Raph, April, and Casey all played a game. Donnie was tired of no one paying attention so he just stopped talking. No one moved.

"Are you gonna keep going?" He hears you ask. He turned to his right, seeing you sitting on the chair next to the couch. Donnie didn't even remember you coming in. He smiled slightly and continued his rambling, directing it at just you now. Of course he was making it sound so much cooler than it was... This is Donnie after all.

After a few hours of talking about his inventions, April tapped you and said it was time to go. Donnie was a little disappointed, he was finally excited to talk about an invention. He deflated a little, watching you leave. But suddenly you come running back in.

"Oh! Um... You mentioned last week that you were having trouble finding some parts and..." Donnie watched as you opened your back pack and handed him a few of the parts he'd been searching for. "I... I had some extra time and found them for you."

Donnie's cheeks heated up as he watched you run off. He was blushing? Impossible, Donnie doesn't blush. Still the fact that you went out of your way to find the parts he couldn't get his hands on made his heart race a bit.

"Ooooo! Donnie has a crush!" He heard Leo and Mikey laugh and nudge him as they walk by.

Crush? Donnie? Please, that's simply imaginary. Donnie doesn't do crushes.

"And someone's got a crush on Donnie." Raph chuckles, patting Donnie's back as he makes his way to his room.

A crush? You have a crush on Donnie? Why would anyone have a crush on Donnie? Now that's a tall tale, much like dragons but not Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, or Pizzasaurus.

He shakes his head, not wanting to believe it. He stands up and walks to his room, trying to think of other possible solutions. Why would anyone like him? He's a freak. Not even his brothers like listening to his ramblings.

Then Donnie comes to the same conclusion as Mikey and Leo. He has a crush on you, but that doesn't explain your actions towards him... No. He still doesn't believe it.

He refuses.

I roughed out a stupidly quick sketch, the proportions and size difference are super janky, and not what i had in mind (i wanted to make donnie much bigger whilst still having him all 'small', vulnerable & wrapped around Darling </3 but i kinda forgot when I was drawing until it was too late🧍‍♀️), I was just too excited and wanted to post it so i didnt fix those tid-bits in my hurry!!! :,) ahfsgugjd!!

Also, I think I accidentally took some creative liberty with the pose they're in... The audhd hyperfixation brain totally took over, I was on excitement autopilot when drawing, sorry...🙇‍♀️🧎‍♀️

That aside, I think I'll have another chance to make smth better because im still riding that emotional & creative high after reading the chapter!! So much happened!! I rambled on and on about it all on Ao3 like a freakazoid, so my apologies for the essay, Miss Dork 🙇‍♀️🙏🏻

oh he DEFINITELY freaked out at first. there was a lot of panicking and confusion and "how could this even happen?!" ("you think i'd genetically engineer a creature that's not capable of reproducing? all of you should be genetically compatible with practically any yokai," draxum said. "AND YOU DIDN'T THINK TO, I DUNNO, TELL US THAT?!" donnie said.) but eventually, he did calm down, and he and his partner talked about it (a bunch, multiple times), and eventually some of the panic gave way to... curiosity, first of all... and then maybe kind of excitement? and some fondness? i mean, he was still pretty scared, and sure, he doesn't really consider himself a 'kid' person, but it's not like he never thought about EVENTUALLY having kids, just maybe... not so soon? but. i mean.

well. if they're already cooking...

oh gosh. i'm not sure, but i know it definitely WILL affect their parenting... i think at first donnie will find himself just... deferring to his partner a LOT in almost any situation because he's afraid that he'll fuck it up, because he DOESN'T feel like he understands proper boundaries or what parenting is supposed to look like, etc etc etc, and he's afraid he'll mess up. he probably reads a TON of parenting books as well because RESEARCH and will often try to pull directly from them in any situation he can, and is confused when things don't go exactly the way they were described in the text... leo i think kind of tends to flounder between being overprotective and feeling the desire to protect his son from everything and anything and wanting to overcorrect this tendency by pulling back and trying to give him as much freedom and space as possible, which sometimes leads to some... inconsistencies. there's definitely a learning curve for both of them, but they both get the hang of it eventually. they both have lovely partners and a very loving and supportive family to help them and they'll figure it out with a bit of practice.

i like to imagine them all staying very close, especially coz i'm loosely planning on them all going through the kraang-apocalypse together (and then coming through to the other side!) so i can't imagine them ever drifting too far from each other, emotionally or geographically. there's a bit of a rocky start for a lot of them, but all of the siblings end up a very tight-knit bunch.

Most random thing but I love that you gave your Donnie a cat. He’s so cat lover coded and I just adore it! And making the cat a SPINX cat was just the cherry on top because yeah! This Donnie would totally have a spinx and adore it more than anything!

omg thanks!!!!! I really wanted to give him a cat or just some sort of companion in general and a sphynx cat just seemed so in character for him! I was considering giving him a black cat but I think big mama would get annoyed if he had a cat that sheds hair everywhere

Holy SHIT. i admire your work so much. it’s done so well, and the way the characters don’t seem to take in how truly fucked up it is? incredible.

poking the brain without too much precision, just straight up cutting open the skull and poking at it, calling donnie an ‘it’? the lack of empathy everyone shows only goes to make the horror aspect that much more disturbing /pos

him being AWAKE, too? he seems drugged or drowsy, but still conscious? that is so fucked up /pos

i write tons of horror/gore, but don’t draw it, though i consume a lot of horror-gore art. and oh my fuck im so excited for when the next part comes out. i could go on for hours about everything i love about this so far, but i don’t wanna bug you.

considering this is only the beginning, i cant wait to see what you have in store for the next parts. thank you for this work of art, im eagerly awaiting whatever comes out next!!

ps the way you drew donnie’s skull was awesome. like mid-surgery when he didn’t have his skin anymore i don’t think but his brain wasn’t yet visible? idk i thought that was really well done!! from one horror/gore creator to another, this was some good shit.

I’m going to Comic-Con in three days so here’s the next big poster that I’m really proud of!!! I made this for Kevin Eastman, as a way to thank him for all he’s done for the franchise and as a gift to celebrate almost forty years!!

As you can see I went in year order to when they came out!! My friends helped me pick some characters, so here’s who I chose!

1987 April, 2003 Raph, 2007 Casey Jones, 2012 Splinter, 2013 Alopex, 2018 Donnie, 2019 Mikey and finally, 2023 Leo! Some versions are absent because I didn’t have the space to squeeze them in, and I’m not confident enough in my art skills to attempt to draw the Bayverse turtles IM SORRY 😅😂

I used every single piece of colored pencil I had, including my prismacolors and some neon ones I’ve never used before!! I’m so excited to meet the legend who made the turtles possible, I really hope he likes this one 😂😂

Hope you like this too!! Comic-Con will be so much fun on Sunday!!!
