My Deal with Giselle Gewelle
So, let me preface this by saying that I'm trans. I'm not saying that to invalidate the feelings of other trans people, just to specify that mine isn't some outsider's perspective. There's also spoilers for Bleach: TYBW, but I'm guessing that there aren't a lot of interested parties left who don't know about this. You probably also know this goes into transphobia, necrophilia, and rape, but if you don't, uh... trigger warning! Reader beware, you're in for a scare!
Recently, an episode of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War came out in which noted bitchy asshole who uses too much product Yumichika Ayasegawa misgendered darling, sweet murderous trans babygirl Giselle Gewelle. It's also implied that upon necromancing Bambietta's corpse, Giselle had sex with her, probably against her will. That's all pretty fucked up, and I want to talk about it.
I started my transition about ten years ago, and exposure to trans or gender non-conforming anime and manga characters in general went a long way towards me accepting I was trans. Looking back, Giselle was one of the most significant characters to me at that early stage. I've always loved her design, and she was the first legit trans character I ever really saw and resonated with in anime and manga.
Get this: there used to be this thing in Shonen Jump's manga line-up called the Big Three. The most influential, bestselling manga in the bunch. One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach. And you wanna know something? Bleach was the first one to have a trans woman character. We can debate whether or not Giselle was good representation, but you know what? At the time, the closest we ever got was Haku pulling the "Oh, by the way, I'm a boy" card in Naruto's first major arc back in the early 2000s and a constant bombardment of okama jokes in One Piece. Okama is a derogatory term for gay men and drag queens, and for a long time, Oda could not get enough of making jokes about big, hairy men in women's clothing.
Now there was also Alluka Zoldyck in Hunter X Hunter, but the vast stretches of time Hunter X Hunter spends on hiatus makes it unclear to me whether she or Giselle came first. But within the Big Three - a designation which doesn't mean much now, but meant a ton back then - Giselle was first. Hunter X Hunter was never quite considered part of the Big 3. But either way, I think Alluka is the better character in terms of how her being trans is written. She's cute, she's precious, she's perfect in every way, and I'll make you pay if you say a single bad thing about her.
Years and years later, Oda would go on to write Kikunojo and Yamato. I still have complicated thoughts about Yamato as trans rep, but Kiku is great trans rep for being a relatively minor character. Oda has also phased the okama jokes out of the story over time. Jujutsu Kaisen also has a subtle, but well-handled example of a trans woman in Kirara Hoshi. She doesn't get nearly enough time in the story, and her identity hasn't been explored yet, but I hope GeGe will unpack that before the story's conclusion.
I tell you all of that so you realize that even if Giselle could have been handled better, Kubo was the first of the Big 3 authors to even try to write a trans girl. Not a femboy, not an okama - a trans woman/girl. He also gave us Charlotte Cuulhorne, and while Charlotte's depiction flirts with being just an okama gag and nothing more, she's so fabulous and so positive in her outlook on life that I can't bring myself to be mad.
So let's look at Giselle as a character. She's very cute, with her big eyes and goofy, purposefully adorable mannerisms. None of the other Sternritter girls try to be cute in quite the way Giselle does. Meninas likes cute things, but doesn't act cute, and that's as close as it gets. Unlike the other Femritters, Giselle wears clothes that cover up as much as possible. Even Liltotto's outfit shows off her shoulders and thighs some; Giselle keeps her shoulders and neck completely covered by a baggy sweater, and her legs covered by tights. Kubo drew a swimsuit picture with the Bambis all together, and he opted to put Giselle in a swimsuit with a skirt. It's pretty apparent that Giselle has concerns about how she looks and covers up as much as she can out of dysphoria. As a card-carrying member of the big jacket-long pants-closed toe shoes gang, I can tell you that when you're not very progressed with your transition, it's like that.
I think you can also make the argument that part of why Giselle acts so cutesy is because of her insecurities and feeling like she has to make up for them by being extra, overtly feminine and adorable. It's like that.
There's not a doubt in my mind that Kubo intended for Giselle to be trans. But is she good trans rep? Probably not, but she might not be as bad as she's made out to be.
People who criticize how Giselle is depicted as a trans character have two or three go-to arguments. Three points of interest to say that she's being written in a transphobic way.
1.) Yumichika scopes her out as trans and misgenders her.
2.) Charlotte says she and Giselle have a lot in common.
3.) The most damning: what Giselle does to Bambietta.
So, I've never liked people using Yumichika as a litmus test for how Kubo feels about trans people. Let me explain something to you: Yumichika is a bitch, an asshole, and the consummate gadfly. One of his defining traits is his awful personality and his inability to resist saying cruel, petty things to others. He's awful to Charlotte and he's awful to GiGi, and he's pretty much awful to anyone besides Ikkaku and Kenpachi, but especially Charlotte and GiGi.
Yumichika is an allegory for a closeted gay man. He has this deep admiration, respect, loyalty, and arguably love for Kenpachi and Ikkaku that's led him to stay in the 11th Division even though it's not where his talents are best put to work. He's adept at kido and his zanpakuto is based in kido, but he refuses to use the former or reveal the latter to his squad because he doesn't want them to reject him. The 11th Division is the manly man squad, all testosterone and sweat and bulging muscles and... ahem. Sorry, I got a little carried away. It's all very erotic. Anyways, Yumichika wants to be close to the men with whom he shares a bond of emotion and martial loyalty alike, and he refuses to embrace his gifts because of it. He's afraid his friends in the boys' club will kick him out for having interests and inclinations that most of them look down on.
I think you can make the argument that Yumichika hates Charlotte and Giselle precisely because they're being true to themselves, meaning they've made a leap he hasn't yet. He's too scared of what might happen if he doesn't keep the lie going about his zanpakuto, and he resents Giselle and Charlotte because they overcame a similar fear of rejection. And he expresses that by rejecting their truth, i.e., misgendering them. This is the interpretation I like the best. It's a sad fact that lots of gay men, closeted or otherwise, refuse to accept trans women.
Charlotte says she and Giselle have a lot in common, and honestly, I don't think this is transphobic either. If you choose to read Charlotte as a trans woman who isn't stereotypically feminine, but is true to herself, then what she's stating is just a fact. She and Giselle may not look the same, and Giselle may have an easier time passing, but they're both trans women if you ask me. And I think Giselle reacting with discomfort isn't innaccurate, either. Charlotte's confidence is admirable in some ways, but I think it sets of Giselle's alarm bells that she's going to be outed and rejected. Lots of trans women - myself included - are haunted by this fear that we'll never pass, never be accepted, or will be incapable of retaining our desired presentation as we get older. It's like that.
So, that brings us to the Bambietta Incident. Not quite as wide-reaching as the Shibuya Incident, but about as traumatizing for some, apparently. Full disclosure, I don't believe any heinous acts should be censored from fiction. If it makes you uncomfortable or awakens traumatic memories, then I'm sympathetic to that, but I do not believe that the right answer is to sanitize every work of fiction of every immoral act that could have that effect. You know where your limits are, so don't count on authors to protect you. Most of them won't, and I think you're stronger and smarter and more able to navigate a world with fictitious depictions like that in it than you realize.
I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, Giselle probably sexually assaulted Bambi. And is that right of her to do? Fuck no, it isn't. But nobody's really debating if that's right or wrong. The problem is that if you look at it a certain way, this is just reinforcing the old, awful stereotype of trans women being predators in disguise. Lots of shitty writers have done that, and it sucks.
However, those depictions assume that trans women are predators, by definition. Or at least sexual deviants. We could go down the rabbit hole of how sexual deviancy has historically been defined by people who use sex as a form of control anyway, but I'm not well-read enough to do that and - well, you've seen how long this post is. Be honest, you wouldn't want me to even try.
The point is that a depiction like that assumes trans woman = deviant. I don't want to make that logical leap here, because that means you need to assume that Kubo wrote Giselle with the intention that she assaulted Bambi because she's trans. I'm not a mind reader, so I'm uncomfortable with acting like I can know Kubo's intentions. It's a bad look to us in the Western sphere of the anime fandom, but I'm not sure how Kubo saw it. He might have not realized how it would look until that chapter was out there and he couldn't undo it, but given the fact they kept it in the anime, he either probably doesn't see a problem with it or there were other rewrites he saw as more important to allocate his mental energies to. Writing Bleach burned this man out, so I'll cut him some slack if so.
My point is, I'm not sure if you can say for sure that the story intends you to believe that Giselle assaulted Bambi because she's trans. When you look at it, Kubo seems to have a more in-depth understanding of trans people than some of you might have first realized. And I mean, shit man, he gave her biology manipulation powers. Every trans girl's first pick for super powers is shapeshifting or some form of biology manipulation. He knows. He's onto us. He's familiar with our ways. The jig is up, girls.
Looking at the broader scope of the narrative, Bleach is littered with characters who perform heinous actions and are not just shoved out the "All Villains Die" airlock. Chief example being Mayuri. The man committed war crimes, experiments on human beings, turns his own subordinates into bombs, and is heavily implied to have performed some very sexual deeds to reconstitute his daughter Nemu after Szayel parasitized her. Yet he still saves the day multiple times and he isn't gotten rid of, because he's more useful to the side of overall good alive than dead. Bleach is one of very few series to have characters who perform heinous deeds and still be treated as humans, rather than reducing them to those deeds and nothing else.
Plus, nobody really treats it as an issue with Kubo's writing that Bambietta killed one of her own fellow Quincies in cold blood just to vent her frustrations. I think because it's sexual and because Giselle is trans, she ends up being the lightning rod when... let's be honest, compared to what some of the Shinigami have done, what Giselle did is kind of quaint. She even helps rescue Candice and I think Meninas after they're taken captive by Mayuri in the novels, and she's considering releasing Bambietta from her control.
Given what we've seen, I think it's less accurate to pick on Giselle and try to say she's a case of Kubo being transphobic, and more accurate to say that living in the Shadow Realm under Yhwach's cruel, exploitative regime has made all the Sternritters fucked up in their own unique, vibrant ways. And for that matter, Kubo never kills her off. He clearly likes her enough to want her to still be around after the end of the series.
When you look at how Kubo draws Giselle in the manga and in illustrations after the manga's conclusion, you can tell he enjoys himself when he's drawing her. He always lavishes her facial expressions with detail, and you can feel love radiating off the page. That's more than you can say for a lot of the Quincies. I think Kubo was overjoyed to not have to draw PePe and his Vollständig anymore.
So like, yeah, Giselle is my problematic fave transgender character. And I don't think she's even as problematic as people's kneejerk reactions are to think she is. If you disagree, I don't care, I don't value your opinion. Particularly if you're not trans. If you're an ally, then that's sweet and all, but never try to speak for trans people about depictions of trans characters. If you are trans and Giselle made you uncomfortable, then I'm sorry you feel that way.

So I’ve seeing the ASOIAF author!Inquisitor AU has resurfaced. I have a curiosity: how does the DAI companion (perhaps also advisors) feel about the character Brienne of Tarth?
Cassandra: Sir Brienne of Tarth is without question or equivocation the greatest and most honorable character in any piece of literature. She is brave and unwavering in her loyalties, strong of oath and arm. Jamie Lannister does not deserve anything from her, but instead should be honored for whatever attention she chooses to bestow on him. Lady Stark could not have chosen a better champion for her daughters.
Years later, when the last book is finally written, Cassandra will receive the first copy. The handwritten note inside is simple and plain, but the Seeker will weep over it regardless and put it in a place of honor.
'I based her on you, Cass. I'm glad she meets your approval.'
Solas: A stoic and staid knight of little imagination who proves set in the thinking that might is right. Solas has no real opinion on the would be knight, for his attentions are on greater characters. But as Cassandra is one of the few companions willing to debate the merits of abandoning the North with real understanding he is willing to pretend greater regard than he might feel.
Varric: All he sees is Aveline, and while Kirkwall's resident author will never mention it to his friend it makes him smile. Somewhere far away Guard Captain Vallen is keeping his city safe with the same loyal tenacity-- he hopes Donnic sees the same parallels and points them out.
She still hasn't forgiven him for Swords and Shields.
Blackwall: She is fair and honorable, strong of arm and conviction. Everything a true lady knight should be. If she were real he would bet on her in the tourney. As it is her character is a welcome respite from those foul nobles in Kings Landing.
Vivienne: Madame de Fer can appreciate loyalty to one's charges and liege lord, even if Brienne's court manners would fail her utterly in the game. But she is a good role model for young templars in the circles Vivienne wants to rebuild, and so popular a series will help set the example.
Sera: Woof.
Dorian: Even if he is not romantically involved with the inquisitor (which he is, though it hardly grants him spoilers), it would not be hard to see that their resident Seeker is the basis for Brienne of Tarth. The necromancer fancies that his comment on Cassandra needing a blue scarf surely inspired the sapphire waters of Tarth, and is content with his addition to the Seven Kingdoms.
Now if only he can convince everyone else that Dorn is also a strategic name....
Iron Bull: She would be a hell of a sparring partner. The Qun badgers him enough about the books that even if he was not invested the Ben-Hassrath agent would have read them all. But he admires Brienne's singular focus, her loyalty and tenacity. Could use a bit more creative thinking, a little more ease with bending the rules. But she'd fit in well with the Qun.
She is added unanimously to the list of characters welcome in the Chargers. Krem will never admit his crush.
Cole: The characters are hard for him, when so many see them in so many ways. The books help--that is enough.
Josephine: She adores every character, except the Lannister's of course, and every winding path they take. Brienne would be about as difficult as Cassandra to train for social events, but just as useful. She does hope Jamie follows his heart and they wed though. That would be so wonderful!
Lelianna: She is watching greater characters, the horrors above the wall and below it, but something about the oath Brienne swears to Sansa reminds her of...
Of another, sworn long ago in far different circumstances with far greater sacrifices. It is a laughable thing, to sit in Skyhold a decade later and wonder how Shale would handle being compared to a fake human!
Cullen: He's just a little bit in love. It doesn't help that in some ways he sees himself in Jamie Lannister's redemption arc.

Flying Buckets
Tumblr media
“The White Council has spoken…” Thranduil growled out, having been reading the letter that brought him here weeks ago to talk sense into his oldest friends and get aid to move upon his lost peak within the Southern half of his forest. Glorfindel seated along the wall flinched as he did to the pained squeak and thud in response to his hard kick of a bucket through the window opening on the far wall of his suite.
“Always, the face….” A muffled and defeated voice had the pair spring up to race outside and find a petite woman plopped ungracefully on her side clutching her face to a angered flop of her foot down into the tall grass she was weighing down.
“Madam,” the Elf King felt himself sighing in a hard drop to a knee at her side. Blood clear as day from the now broken nose that hindered the already frustrated Dwarf Company of Thorin Oakenshield who were dead set on waiting until their most injury riddled member was right as rain for the continuation of their journey. Of course that was after an internal investigation on where the Princes were at during that time to ensure like a mishap with the ponies the first week had not been behind another bloody nose and facial bruise for her they were glad to be cleared of. Elrond was shouted for and the King himself carried her to aid without care of the stains to his outer robes terrifying so many in his pacing path outside the Healers Wing.
“You owe me,” was mouthed by her to the Elf King who was not blamed by the Company who would have ammunition enough already to despise him for all eternity off past grievances and grudges. The same Elf King who in his entrapped state offered a deal of his own, together they would call for aid from Dain to rid his Southern Woodlands of the Necromancer and then he would gladly aid in march upon the mountain, where they could surely work his lost gems once the arkenstone was recovered into a new trade deal to rekindle the relationship between their kingdoms.
Quietly as she stole a moment to the side of the grand hall being prepped for the coronation in a few weeks time the one to whom the King owed a debt felt his statuesque silent figure come up on her left. Silent as ever with more grace than she could dream to scoff at beside her now sling donning self thanks to another thankfully face bruise free incident one of Dain’s men unintentionally set off. “I believe we have yet to discuss terms of my debt to you.”
Up at him with brilliantly clear eyes she peered at him for another stunning glimpse of the face he’d sooner ache to coat with kisses and murmured sentiments of adoration than ever bring a single speck of a bruise to. “I want one of those head things,” that had his brow tick upwards to the circle of her good hand drawing a sloppy loop around her head. “Like Arwen and Elrond wear,” that gained a nod from him and she added peering back at the hall making his heart sink lower to her words than it ever had when he’d unfortunately caused her harm. “Everyone else has a title, some relation to the King and they all have some fancy bits and bobs they bring up to be wearing at the coronation. I get to go, but family sits with family and, I’m not family.” Up at him she looked after patting her bunched sleeve to her cheek forcing a grin onto her pinkened face, with eyes still glimmering with hint of tears in them. “If you have to you could say I cried and made you feel bad.”
“That is a poor repayment.” An answer that had her look away mid nod in the rejection riddled tone to the answer she assumed to be given so she would not actually become a sobbing mess and actually stir up some real trouble for the Elf King. An uncommon gesture of comfort of a hand on her shoulder blade halted a swivel of her head to search for a quick escape linked to ample hiding places until she would calm down. “The adornment is customary for such an event, consider it granted however many styles you deem to ask for.” Sloppily she sniffled and raised her hand and bunched up sleeve again to hover in front of the lower half of her face and cheeks as best as she could. “For now consider a much more proper form of repayment and do excuse me. On the subject of your seating arrangement, I have to speak to Lord Celeborn on terms of adopting you into his kin.”
“What?!” She squeaked out, turning to find he was gone somehow and was bent on greatly improving the station upon which would grant him a much closer distance to your seat than he could imagine possible at the moment for a Western wilds familiar Ranger.

May I ask for a Subnautica Cookie Run AU Licorice x Reader? Feel free to snipe me to heaven if you wish ^^
A necromancer’s favorite, that’s what you are.
When the Celestial crashed you were both lucky and unlucky enough to have your escape pod land in the Dead zone, the “Dark cookie’s” territory. You were lucky in the sense that the leviathans let you live, you were unlucky in the sense that you were being held prisoner and had to eat whatever they brought you, if they remembered to at all. The one known as Pomegranate was the least attentive to you, in fact she barely cared. The most attentive though…was a shadow leviathan named Licorice. When it was his job to do so he always made sure to bring food back for you, he’d talk to you and seemed to enjoy the chats.
His presence made you fascinated by the natives here, even if he tried to act like he didn’t like you. Whenever you spoke to him you could see a slight grin on his face, you could hear that genuine laugh at your jokes. He’d get so flustered whenever you pointed it out.
“Licorice, thanks for being so nice to me, I really appreciate it.”
“W-Well yes! Be grateful!” He stuttered.
“Don’t worry, I am grateful.” You replied with a genuine tone.
Sometimes you’d talk about your home planet, all the bad things that happened to it, Alterra, etc. He himself was fascinated by outer worldly things and on some occasions would ask about it without prompt. It made you feel appreciated and heard, especially when you’d lament about wanting to leave Plant Cookie as it was called here. Any mention of you going home was met with swift denial from him.
“Licorice please, I want to try to find a way home.” You spoke.
“No!” He replied, arms crossed.
“Well why not?”
“Because you’re our prisoner!”
“I’m starting to feel like it’s more than that with you…”
“No, it’s not!”
“Licorice…”
Back and forth with this, Licorice would keep denying you a proper answer to the question, you knew it was something else other than “being their prisoner”. You could see it on his face, something he was hiding. So, you kept poking and prodding at the topic every chance you got, until he snapped.
“Just NO! Okay? The answer is NO I will NOT let you go!!” He shouted.
You flinched, drawing back at his snap and harsh tone. You immediately saw regret cross his face as he muttered an apology, then a slightly more audible one. Arms crossed again as he refused to meet your gaze. Reaching over you placed a hand on his shoulder, this time he was the one to flinch despite being so much bigger than you.
“Licorice…”
“Fine…I have two reasons… One…I NEED to prove to my master that I’m worth something and two…I…I don’t want you to go. I’m so happy having you around that I don’t think I can go back to being without you…” He explained.
“Oh licorice…” You sympathized with him.
The giant mer creature let out an exhale before his head sunk more into the water. You reached out again and pet his head with your hand gently, Licorice’s eyes went wide for a bit before he relaxed and purred. You thought that was adorable, you didn’t know he could purr!
But soon the purrs stopped as his face became downtrodden again…
“I know it’s wrong to keep you here but, I just…don’t want…”
“Licorice it’s okay, really. I’ll try to find a way to visit you without getting blasted out of the sky!”
“Or, you could live here on one of the islands! That way I could visit you!” He said with desperation.
“Licorice, this is my whole life we’re talking about…it’s not that simple of a choice…”
He splashed a hand down, creating a wave that soaked you.
“Ugh! Why must things be so difficult?!” He cried out before gripping his hair and diving underwater.
You didn’t see him for the rest of the day, nor the next few days. You were getting worried when one day you woke up to feel your life pod moving. Poking your head out of the top you spotted Licorice moving it to a safer location. He didn’t answer when you called out to him, so you just decided to enjoy the ride. You were moved as far as his large body would allow him to go comfortably.
“Licorice.”
“…”
“Thank you.”
“…You’re welcome.”
With that, he swam away back to the Dead zone. You were sad but relieved at the same time, he decided to let you go regardless of what punishment he might receive for doing so.
Days passed and licorice would come to visit you, helping with whatever he could due to his giant size compared to yours. The two of you were closer than ever now and you liked it, surviving here got fun with Licorice there to protect you. You’d tell him how much you appreciated it and how much he meant to you. You could see it fluster him even when he’d try to coolly brush it off.
“Licorice, thank you for everything.”
“You’re welcome…. dear…”
“What?”
“Nothing!”
He started to get more flustered by just being around you. Stuttering a lot more and not knowing what to say at some points. You thought it was so cute and you were convinced he was in love with you. To be honest, you were in love with him too. You loved everything about Licorice! But that’s what made you sad…you’d have to leave him, go home, return to Alterra. You couldn’t truly promise to see him again…
After exploring the remains of the Celestial, you got the blueprints for the rocket that would bring you home. Licorice flinched when you told him but he assisted in gathering the materials so you could build it.
Finally, everything was built, and you looked at your creation with him.
“I feel like I keep saying this but thank you Licorice, thank you so much!”
“You’re welcome…can I at least give you something before you go?”
“Of course.”
Then he leaned in, giving you the gentlest of kisses. Your cheeks flared and you return the kiss, causing his cheeks to flare as well. You boarded the rocket…waving as it took off. Licorice waved back as the only one he ever loved left the atmosphere…

I'm back >:) with a fun question this time.
If BW were to take place in the planet of Manas(where MotH takes place), what class of magic would each of the main cast get? Like necromancer, wizard, etc.
And what about if MotH were to take in New Tenesse? Which class would each one get?
Hmm...this is quite difficult to do without breaking too much canon, but I'll try my best.
Albus wouldn't have been ousted as someone to be hated or despised. That being said, he'd definitely become some sort of soldier. Maybe a warrior of Fusfeimyol, most likely specializing in offensive boosting enchantments and other battle spells. Fighting, not to survive, but for the thrill solely. He'd be a Battlemage.
Devlin wouldn't be designing weapons. I actually think he'd let his creativity shine in the way it wants and become a toy maker. Technically, still an artificer, just in a more fantastical and in a profession he enjoys much more.
Faith would become a school teacher in the impoverished nations like Fusfeimyol. She'd probably run into Albus at some point. Actually that's pretty cute now that I think about it lol! The Gladiator and the School Teacher. Adorable.
Now, let's move to the MotH cast! This was a bit trickier so I wrote out their stories in this world.
Zed would be considered weak by most standards for Paladins. However, his heritage would anoint him a great deal of prestige. In this AU where the MotH characters are swapped with BW characters, I would say that Zed would be a son of the Paladin King. But not just any Paladin King, a king who would be assassinated, most likely by the Triad, and force Zed to escape into hiding. If the Triad were to ever catch him, he'd be killed, or worse...this makes Zed a nomadic warrior with no clan or family to call his own. Constantly running, or else he'll suffer the same fate as the rest of his family.
Raze would probably have completely different powers. She might not even be a star captain considering the relationship between New Tennessee and the Landstar. Raze would most likely be one of the founding Paladins, or at least one of their children. She could be a Sister Paladin, or a Knight Sargent, until meeting Magreos. Together they'd most likely try to start a clan and succeed actually. Magreos would be able to vent his violent tendencies in combat as a sort of sharp relief, however that could spell bad news for their relationship moving forward...
Makkaro would be a Knight for sure. While he is smart, he's not technically minded. No, instead he is on the side of justice and fighting for honor and truth. Makkaro, being as smart as he is however, would make him a target for the Triad to be watchful. They like keeping their fighters dumb. They don't think, they kill. Makkaro doing both is a dangerous combination. Even more so when Makkaro inevitably picks up reading when he falls in love with the Paladin King's daughter (Gienne), resulting in him getting captured by the Triad who scramble his mind and make him black out all of it, before sending him back to his family under the guise that he suffered some form of demonic attack and physical trauma which developed in the form of Amnesia. From that point on, Makkaro would be afraid to do any more fighting, in fear of what might happen.
Gienne, as I said would be the Paladin Kings daughter. She might actually be inducted into the Triad, given her position and intelligence, but I think Makkaro would make her see passed that. This of course would lead to Triad interference again, where they would make her hate Makkaro and want nothing to do with such a sniveling coward who can't pick up a sword and doesn't even remember her. After that, she'd be sent back to her blissfully happy life as a princess.
Sorry for how long this all was! You may have noticed how depressing the lives of the MotH characters are on New Tennessee. Surprise surprise, it's not a happy world lol While a lot of clans do enjoy the thrill of hunting monsters and being blissfully ignorant of those in power behind the scenes manipulating everyone, characters with as much importance and personality as these would typically get screwed over. And fast too.

Who are “the kids”?
My friend, at this point it’s better that you just see for yourself of what’s going on with them than ask for a recap, because whew a lot has happened
But quick rundown, the kids were created when I had the idea of an au where in double life, they didn’t just share their life with their soulmates but also a child. The AU was more about how the couples would be as parents and less about the kids themselves, and their personalities were mostly made to fit fun scenarios
But then people liked that post a lot, and wanted to know more, so here we are
There’s Liana, the Scar + Grian child, who’s a business woman with wings but can’t fly, also she’s half watcher, has lost a foot plus half her eyesight, has heavy trauma from watching her dad die in front of her,is a superhero, and became Pixl’s adopted daughter ish, also her and Jassy are married
There’s Wes, the BDubs + Impulse child, who’s a gentle giant, but more in the way that he’s constantly stressed out, and he has a lot of OCD and anxiety, a bad relationship with both of his dads, a real passion for mining, and is engaged to Jekiv. Their relationship is a whole mess too
There’s Gertrude, the Rendog + BigB child, who’s a pretty chill redstoner with a big passion and love for classic fairytales and princesses, also she’s a werewolf but kept that a secret from her mentor for a while, also she caught her dad cheating when she was like ten, and she wears sunglasses so much that she’s near blind because of the light when she takes them off, and she’s dating Novo
Johnny, the Tango + Jimmy child, who’s like a pure southern country boy, very sweet and kind and friendly, plays the banjo and absolutely adores goats, he had an absolutely awful time after double life ended, and he suffers from major codependency issues to his dads, also he becomes an explorer with his horse Butternut, and he can speak to wardens, and he’s aromantic.
Jassy, the Etho + Joel child, who’s a pun loving ninja with a huge identity problem, has a lot of anime traits including the crazy hair that changes every day, is also a little green in some places because ogre, has a whole arc of figuring out who she was and wanted to be, is a huge horror fan, was a pirate for a while, she has a rough ass relationship with Joel, and she’s married to Liana.
Jekiv, the Cleo + Martyn child, who’s a monotone pastel clad half zombie with more daddy issues than all the bat kids combined, he has a lot of zombie traits that affect his day to day life, he kept a journal after his parents death, he became a necromancer for the heck of it, gore and corpses is his favorite thing in the world apart from frogs, and he’s engaged to Wes.
Novo, the Pearl + Scott child, who’s more nutty that a peanut in a nut factory, used to be a total momma’s boy but now hates both of his parents, loves the aesthetic of running mascara and has been doing it since he was eleven, has an accent that no one can understand, became a bard without being able to play an instrument or sing, and managed to become incredibly rich just by people paying him to shut up and go away, and he’s dating Gertrude.
This does not even cover the Hermitpires thing, the separation arc, the death ending, their many costume alternatives, the villain au, the Sklizzumbo children, Lily the Warden, and a lot more. So just like, check out the #double life fankids tag on my blog, most of it should be found there

Tagging, but don't feel pressured! (Also you do not have to make pretty pictures. Graphic Designer brain just took over and this happened.) @physicalvocalist, @sarenraegalpaladin, @vorpalbun, @captainqster, @leagor-majere, @sundered-souls, @ardberts, @hinganskies, @lilbittymonster, @janzoo

1. Harrowhark Nonagesimus - The Locked Tomb Trilogy
Harrow has true scrungly wet cat energy. I want to put her in one of those little backpacks with a window and carry her around in it for her enrichment. She's an absolute bitch. She is a pathetic little meow meow. She lobotomized herself to save the soul of the woman she refuses to admit she's in love with. She tried to kill a saint with soup made from her own bone marrow. She is a war crime. I like her so much!
Tumblr media
2. Magneto - X-Men
He is the platonic ideal of my favorite trope, "Does all the wrong things for all the right reasons." Magneto has gone through the polar opposite of villain decay. The longer he exists, the longer the universe has to prove him increasingly correct on most things. All I can really say is, "Magneto was right."
Tumblr media
3. Wei Wuxian - Mo Dao Zu Shi
Truly the most blorbo of all time. Are you also an ADHD burned out gifted and talented submissive brat with a praise kink? Boy howdy, do I have a character that you are going to imprint on like a baby goose! Wei Wuxian also has a hearty dose of, "Does all the wrong things for all the right reasons." Also like who multiclasses in wizard (specifically necromancer) and bard? This fucking guy apparently.
Tumblr media
4. Hythlodaeus - Final Fantasy 14
I am so normal about Hythlodaeus, I made an entire AU around him. That is a reasonable thing to do about a character that you like a normal amount, right? The idealized lost love, trapped in amber, untouchable but also incorruptible by the sands of time that keep eroding the edges of your soul. And then they gave him lavender dead anime mom hair!
Tumblr media
5. Varric Tethras - Dragon Age
I literally have a semi-viral post about how much this character has consumed my thoughts. Rule Number 1 of Dragon Age: Varric lies. He's a charming scoundrel. He's loyal to a fault. He knows everything worth knowing about Kirkwall. And he's a dirty fucking liar. The only reason Varric isn't romanceable in DA2 is that no other romantic interest would get any attention if Varric was on the table. I desire him carnally.
Tumblr media
6. Temeraire - Temeraire
My most precious and smartest boy! I adore Temeraire so much. Swear to god, I did not read the Temeraire books before creating Orion as a character, but the parallels are so strong, you would think I had! He's a bookworm, a little awkward but full of opinions, and he has an unwavering moral compass. Temeraire will forever be one of my favorite dragon characters.
Tumblr media
7. Jaina Solo - Star Wars Legends
I will never forget what Disney took from me. As a weird, nerdy girl who was also kind of a guy growing up, Jaina meant so much to me. She was an active participant in the stories she was in. She was an ace pilot, a skilled mechanic, and a Jedi to boot. She had her dad's sense of humor and her mom's moral certainty. I thought she was the coolest. Still do.
Tumblr media
8. Ansur - Baldur's Gate 3
Ansur! My beloved! If you had told me that the character I would be most obsessed with from BG3 would be an undead bronze dragon who you don't even know about until the third act -- actually, no that checks out. He was so in love, and so loyal, and so bitter at Balduron for embracing his corruption! And that reveal! All the build-up, only to find his bones and then wham! the entire narrative of the Emperor gets turned on its head. I still get chills. Also, they were absolutely fucking.
Tumblr media
9. Viktor - Arcane
Listen, as a disabled, obsessive nerd with too much to do and not enough time to do it all in, Viktor is my gender. I love just about everything about Arcane, but Viktor's storyline is my favorite part. I, for one, am very excited to watch his fall from grace and further corruption. I have already forgiven all of his atrocities. I do not care. He's babygirl.
Tumblr media
10. Clark Kent - DC
You thought I was going to say Jason or Dick for a DC character didn't you? (Or even Roy!) Those would all have been very reasonable expectations. I am pretty obsessed with all of them. However, Clark Kent is a very special character to me, and yes I specifically am focusing on the Clark persona and not the Supes persona. Yeah, they are ultimately the same guy, but I much prefer Superman stories grounded in his Clark Kent identity. Superman is at his best when he is attached to the mundane world by things like his job, his family, and his love for Lois. (Lois/Clark is the ultimate het ship. I will not be taking questions on this. It just is.) Clark is essentially a demigod, and yet he chooses to spend his time loving people and living as one of them, and I think that's really fucking cool.

Tav
SORCerer.
Very tired.
No thoughts, head empty.
Has no idea why he's been put in charge of this party.
Gentle Giant who is fully willing to be an asshole when people test his patience.
8 Strength loser who is only scary because he's an orc.
Weird, vaguely homoerotic rivalry with Gale.
Tumblr media
Dave
Necromancer.
He's Dad.
Took one look at the party and decided they were all his children now.
Buys everyone "treats" (magical items) using their own money.
Likes 'em big, stupid, and easily manipulated; Halsin is in danger.
Seducing Gale because it's funny to watch the wizards having a staff measuring contest.
Tumblr media
Little King Trashmouth (Druregard Murlistrasza)
Idiot Bard.
Coward.
They're going to kiss Raphael's ass so hard.
Refuses to do anything without being paid in advance.
Would try to seduce/cower behind Lae'zel if she wasn't so terrifying.
Just wants to go home and pretend this isn't happening.
Tumblr media
Skillet
Pint-sized Powerhouse.
Bluh bluh huge bitch.
She's so full of rage but her legs are so tiny, fights are almost always over before she gets there.
Married to a Githyanki Wizard.
"Stop hitting my WIFE!!!"
Tumblr media
Armageddon
Dark Urge.
Managed to break their Paladin Oath within fifteen minutes of escaping the Nautaloid.
Told Gale they're a kitten who thinks of nothing but murder all day long, and he said "I once wished a most impure demise on a colleague of mine who bought the last remaining copy of Etheril's Enchiridion of Enchanting Easements."
Gale, that's adorable but it's not the same thing at all.
Has outsourced their moral compass to Lae'zel. It's going about as well as you'd think.
Tumblr media
Caythaes
War Domain Cleric of Lathander.
The Elf. The Myth. My Original Tav.
Has put the WORST things in their mouth, including an Ilithid Tadpole.
Tried to seduce the entire party but failed because Gale kept looking at them sadly when they tried to slut it up.
Cried when Astarion rejected them.
Shadowheart is their little sister now.
Torn between letting Gale do what he wants and trying to keep him from turning into Karsus 2.0.
Sassed Vlaakith because they got pissed at the Githyanki for desecrating a temple to Lathander and all they got was a total party kill.

Ok! Hi deadass a little nervous for an ask but you got me to be a necromancer simp so.
How would actor, and or necromancer (if you can’t do both pick which one you want) deal with a s/o who’s very like cute and wholesome, like would make cookies if your sad or just very loving but makes the most unhinged threats. Like if someone is annoying them they’ll calmly go “I’ll hand you from your intestines!” Or “keep talking and I’ll take your your finger and toenails “
Anyways. Ignore if you want I love your work to death! Keep it up your amazing!
HAHAHAHA MY INFLUENCE IS SPREADING!!
Gonna do some headcanons for this, because I think it fits a little better for both of them.
Actor:
He doesn't even blink, he's said worse
Actor won't critique the cookies, only because it's you
Otherwise he'd be incredibly opinionated
He will hand you one with a smile that says "your lack of death inconveniences me <3"
So you both end up laughing at the ridiculousness
Necromancer:
He does not know what cookies are
Quite honestly he uses them as paper weights
When you point out they're food, and help him take a bite, he's even more confused
"Why are these not-rocks sweet?"
The next day he gives you a note that says "I will turn your bones into a rest for my feet"
Because you're a little unhinged, you just find it adorable

Tav Questions - Ralxire Edition
LIST
Listen, this is just for me lol. This is Ralxire Xarmus, he's a Teef Necromancer and an absolute greasy nightmare who I ADORE
Tumblr media
Why did you pick the race you did for your Tav?
I am trying to play at least one character of each race in BG3 to see all the custom stuff. I'd tried to make a few Teefs and none of them were really clicking. Ralxire was my latest attempt and I adore him even though I have a LOT of teefs with red skin and black hair. He could be my first DnD character's burnout cousin. But I don't care he's perfect
Why did you pick the class you did for your Tav?
I was DYING to play a Necromancer in this game. I really love the idea of it being the "bad" or "evil" wizard, especially on a good aligned character? I think it's a class that says a lot about the character straight away. Dedicating your life to decay and undeath is not something you do if you're not profoundly weird in a lot of ways
What is your character’s moral alignment?
Probably Chaotic Neutral. He's been growing more towards Chaotic Good into act 3, but if you're romancing 'Star, you're never really getting onto the Good line of the chart.
How did you choose your Tav’s name, if you gave them a unique one?
I thought it sounded like a stage magician! I wanted a lot of harsh sounds (in actual DnD he'd be a feral tiefling, so I wanted something with a demonic twinge), but ultimately he picked his own name and picked something a kid would think was cool. I wanted it to feel like a name a ye olde snake oil salesman would use. Hense: Ralxire Xarmus
What are your character’s strongest and weakest stats (strength, charisma, etc)?
Strongest is INT 20. Weakest is either CHA or STR (from my memory)
What is your Tav’s origin story?
I'll try to keep this *so* short
Street kid in Baldurs Gate. Orphan. The whole deal. Met his "sister" Oriana (made by @ms-scholars-gown-bnoc ) and joined a gang. Kept that up untill they were teens, when Oriana was "rescued" by a noble family who gave her a proper home. A little sad, Ralxire stayed - throwing himself further into his self taught wizardry - stealing what arcane supplies he needed. Established himself as a necromancer for hire. Then Oriana came back. Decided the toff life wasn't for her. So they went back to their old ways then.... Mindflayers.
That's as short as I can physically get it without going super into Ralxire's terrible dating decisions
What was the most significant moment in your Tav’s origin story?
Oriana leaving. Ralxire has a real protective streak and her leaving left him alone for the first time?? Ever??? It made him have to establish himself and he did that TERRIBLY. That's how he managed to become a greaseball asshole, and unfortunately also a very good necromancer. It isn't significant for good reasons, but significant nonetheless.
What deity, if any, does your character worship?
He respects Mystra from a distance, but you're not going to catch him saying grace.
What is your Tav’s biggest priority or goal?
It's gone through some revisions. Since the ship, it's been to restore his old powers and retrieve his old spellbook. That's a constant. Unfortunately, he's also started doing this insane thing called "caring for people"? Crazy. He'll do anything for Astarion - even want him to be better than he is. Hell, he'll become better than HE is for 'Star. Or Oriana.
He's trying, okay?
If your Tav didn’t become an adventurer, what else would they be doing?
NECROMANCY :D
What is your Tav’s most used weapon or spell?
In canon, it's probably Animate Dead or Necrotic touch. In practice, I think it's actually Haste, because I'm a filthy support wizard and I cannot be stopped
What is your Tav’s favorite school of magic/weapon type?
You got one guess.
How does your Tav fight in a combat situation?
More in the mix than your average wizard! He's not formally trained and a little scrappy - a solid handful of his spells are extensions of his claws. He'll be in the mix, throwing out what he can while concentrating on some support spell that makes Oriana into an absolute monster. Paladins, man....
Does your Tav know any other languages besides Common?
Infernal, Abyssal and probably a handful of the Primordials? Contrary to the way he acts and behaves, he is actually smart
If your Tav could/does multiclass, what other class would they choose?
I feel Sorcerer is cheating somehow.... But I truly cannot imagine him multiclassing. Being a wizard is so much of who he is? His life would be a lot more convienient if he was a sorcerer tbh.
Which of the companions does your Tav trust most?
He does trust Astarion. He does. But also it's gotta be Halsin. There's no world it isn't Halsin. Either that or La'zel, because she's always gunna have Oriana's best interests at heart.
Which of the companions does your Tav distrust most?
In truth, this was ALL of the companions in Act 1. Ralxire doens't trust easy. I'm going to cheat my way out of this by saying Jahira and Minsc, just because they're newest.
Who is your Tav’s biggest rival?
Mystic Carrion. Well, he's the biggest FINANCIAL competition. They run the same grift. The true answer is probably Cazador, for obvious Astarion reasons
Who is your Tav romancing, if anyone?
Astarion. Also Halsin, when they're feeling spicy. But 'Star is the love of his damn life, because he has terrible taste and I love that for them
If you’re romancing anyone, why did your Tav fall for them? And why did that character fall for your Tav?
Not even joking: They're both as bad as each other
Astarion obviously moved on Ralxire for manipulation reasons. I'm not going to give Mr No Wisdom the credit of thinking he saw through that. But there's something to nefarious company. Ralxire is a little more cutthroat than his sister. He's had a bad time since she left. So it's nice to feel his defensive impulses (and frequent fits of just sarcastic and mean comments) are appreciated by someone. They would often be at the back of the group, muttering, judging and getting up to crime. They weren't good like everyone else. The rest was inevitable
If you’re romancing anyone, who fell first and who fell harder?
Oh, Ralxire. This is the stuff that makes me insane, actually. So Ralxire's not a complete idiot. He knows his taste is bad. He knows guys like 'Star don't stick around. So he falls early - but he has NO illusions about it ever being reciprocated. He sees it as a flaw in himself - that deep down, under all the nastyness, he's still so so loving and caring, despite his best efforts. He doesn't expect 'Star to feel anything at all. He's waiting for him to move on.
Fortunately, Astarion falls like a meteor when he does.
How does your Tav act around their crush?
Completely normal. See above. He's just a taaaad more protective in ways that will likely go unnoticed by most
What is your Tav’s favorite moment they’ve had with their lover?
When Astarion told him he wanted their relationship to be real. When he levelled with him about the realities of his attractions. Because it was such a sigh of relief for him. He didn't have to pretend to care less - to pretend he was happy with only having sex. Astarions issues with intimacy were something they could work through - and 'Star wanted to work through it WITH him. As a team. It was the best.
What is your Tav attracted to? What are their turn-ons and turn-offs?
Terrible men is his type. If a man is transparently bad for him, Ralxire is all about it. But there has to be some kernel of goodness or they don't get to sleep over.
Does your Tav have any biases against other classes or races?
Of course, traditional Sorcerer vs Wizard beef must be observed. Especially because Oriana is part Sorc. Sibling rivalry is no joke.
What is the most prominent color in your Tav’s color scheme?
Red and Black the whole way down. Sometimes I'll throw in some blue for contrast
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What is their sense of humor like?
Driest sarcasm in the west. The kind where you think they're not joking, just being an asshole out of nowhere. When he's around family, he is partial to a dad joke but he wouldn't be caught dead making one
What is your Tav’s guilty pleasure?
I think in reality, Ralxire would indulge in every vice availble to man, but he wouldn't be guilty about it. I think he reads nonfiction for fun. I think he uses the mending cantrip to fix his friend's clothes while they're asleep. I think he really likes fancy food and deserts. That's the stuff he'd feel guilty about.
How easily offended are they? How do they act when offended?
My man has a temper and takes most things as a direct insult to his pride. He has an ego that could eclipse the sun. There's a lot of snarling and exhaling smoke through the nose. There's a lot of saying the first insult that comes to mind. There's a lot of just blurting out the most hurtful shit you can think of as a reflex.
He's... not great at keeping friends. He's working on it.
How does your Tav react when someone insults their friend/partner?
TIME FOR VIOLENCEEE
As I've said, Ralxire is BIG TIME protective. He's normally chill letting everyone else handle things, but if someone starts squaring up or targeting Oriana or 'Star? Violence.
How does your Tav dress for different occasions, like very fancy situations?
Ah, Ralxire's nightmare. He's a street rat - he's never been anywhere remotely fancy. If Astarion doesn't dress him, he'd wear the tackiest, most Look I Have Money getup he could steal. Ralxire is not blessed with drip
How did your Tav get their scars, if they have any?
Oh boy. Ralxire does have facial scarring. Yes, he did it himself. Yes, it was a choice that he then tatted over AND grew facial hair. His lower jaw is a disaster
Tumblr media
What is your Tav’s relationship with their family?
Blood family is nonexistant. Oriana is his closest thing. They've had...bumps. But Ralxire doesn't really care about that. He defends what he has
What is your Tav’s opinion on nobility and authority?
No respectable lower city kid LIKES either. Ralxire is no exception. Sorry, Wyll
How does your Tav react to wearing the Wavemother’s robe? How do they react to their partner wearing it?
I can't remember if this is how we discovered Ralxire has an incredible ass BUT HE REALLY DOES. He'd be down - Ralxire has absolutely no body shame at all. He wears a harness to relax. There's a naked statue of him at camp. He doesn't wear underwear. He's nasty as hell and everyone else has to deal with it.
'Star or Halsin wearing it would go exactly the way you think it would.
What is your Tav’s favorite type of environment? Like in a tavern, a library, out in the wilderness, underground, etc.
Lower City favoured terrain. Taverns, dirty sewer hideouts, nasty waterfront warehouses. Places that aren't too nice make him feel....out of place. Halsin is helping with that, on the nature front. Though, a necromancer is only ever going to be so comfortable in nature
What would your Tav’s Zodiac sign be?
My brain said Scorpio reflexively, but unfortunately I think he's inherited my Aries sun / Taurus moon combo.
 What is their favorite season?
Autumn. Cool. Everything is dying. It's in his colour pallet. What more could you want?
Where in the world does your Tav want to visit the most?
I think he'd do a big city tour. Waterdeep, Neverwinter.... I think he'd seek out cool magic places. He does love Baldur's Gate secretly though
What is the biggest mistake your Tav ever made?
Looking into Litchdom because "it's what Necromancers do"
What animal best represents your Tav?
Impulse said Rat and I think that's maybe correct? A giant rat. The biggest rat you've ever seen.
What flower/tree/plant best represents your Tav?
It's too easy to say Corpse Flower? I do think it's apt, actually. Massive for seemingly no reason. Smells bad. Obsessed with dead and decaying things. Looks like a massive dick
What does your Tav smell like?
Embalming fluid, probably.
What song best represents your Tav?
Bonus for Ralxire x Astarion from my playlist for them
What would be your Tav’s favorite music genre?
There is no world in which Ralxire would not have the worst drum and bass you've ever heard blaring 24/7 irl
What role would your Tav play in a highschool AU? (nerd, jock, bully, goth, etc)
Dropout/Burnout with bonus He's Secretly Smart trope
What is the most important item your Tav has?
His spellbook. Really, any book he gets his hands on. But his old and new spellbooks really contrast who he was with who he is now. Like, sure, his old one has Finger of Death in it. But now he has buffing spells! That he casts on other people! He learned spells to help others! Groundbreaking territory
Where does your Tav feel most at home?
Lower City waterfront. The area of Baldur's Gate with all the monsters in it
What is your Tav’s philosophy on life?
It would be something like "We're all getting fucked so we might as well enjoy it". He's got that optimistic pessimism going on
Does your Tav think more with their heart or their brain?
He'd love it if it was his Brain. It would improve his life. Unfortunately he is only ever guided by his heart, his ego or his dick.
What does your Tav want in their future? (domestic bliss, more adventure, a family, etc)
There was a time where he wanted to be immortal. Now, he mostly wants to give Astarion the best damn life he can until he's gone.
What is your Tav’s worst fear?
The loss of what little he has - mostly his family
Is your Tav easily tricked or deceived?
Not necissarily - but he is EASILY swayed by flattery.
If your Tav was granted a single wish, what would it be?
More wishes. The wish spell in his spellbook. Some loophole bullshit like that
How does your Tav feel about keeping secrets, both their own and others?
Sure, why not? You've got your reasons and I've got mine.
How would your Tav react to a love confession?
If it was unrecipricated, it would be the best day of his life. He'd be so happy because he's been given a gift. If reciptrocated, see above answer about Star
What are your Tav’s biggest insecurities?
Ralxire is more insecurity than man. He is insecure about how much he cares, primarily. Again, he's all ego. A lot of work goes into preserving that
What decision would your party have to make in order for Tav to consider splitting off from the group?
Honestly, I think the fact I couldn't think of anything is telling. But he does have a soft spot for his fellow teefs. I think if they'd murdered the tiefling refugees, he'd have quitely slipped away the night after
What is your Tav’s favorite food?
Anything insanely filling. Curries. Stews. That sort of thing. Most of his diet is unfortunately alcohol though
How generous is your Tav, especially to those they don’t know?
Almost 0%. Maybe a little if you catch him being sentimental
If an evil character told your Tav that they wanted to change and help them, would they believe it?
Not on your life. Ralxire mistrusts the nicest people on earth
What meme describes your Tav the best?
I've somehow forgotten every meme ever made by mankind. Maybe....
youtube
What does your Tav want to be remembered by?
Outside of existing fondly in the memories of the people he loves, I don't think Ralxire cares much about being remembered.
What Tarot Card best represents your Tav?
The Chariot (reversed) or The King of Wands (reversed)
What would be your Tav’s major in college?
I actually answered this here
but tldr Ralxire would be working towards a PHD in Biology or Pathology
Does your Tav consider themselves a hero, villain, victim or something else?
I think he would rather obstain. Though a bit like 'Star, there's something really funny about considering him a hero even a little bit
How good is your Tav at giving advice? How good are they at following it themselves?
Good and terrible respectively
How does your Tav get along with each party member?
Gale - > Inherent Wizard Rivalry is a big barrier here Wyll - > Too good to be true, for Ralxire. He's coming around Lazell - > She loves his sister and that's enough for him Astarion - > See any other answer. Loves more than anything Halsin - > The only grounding force he's ever had and he needed it SO MUCH. Adores sharing him with 'Star. Adores their strange, haphazard relationship. Adores how much he's not his usual type. Karlach - > Banter buds Shadowheart - > They hated each other for no clear reason, but now they bully each other with some affection in it
What are your Tav’s other hobbies?
He will read anything at all - but likes Philosophy because it's structured arguing.
(Free Spot: Ask any question you’d like!)
Ralxire's favourite way to end a day is to cuddle the shit out of Astarion while he reads aloud. 'Star gets to listen to his voice rumble and 'Xire gets to play with his hair. Astarion pretends to fall asleep, then Ralxire bundles them both up. Perfection

hiiii anonnn [twirls hair, kicks feet] <3 this is gonna be LONG, so im gonna put it under a cut! the nepherits, Jax, Syvis, & Panathir are required reading for this blog bc i reference them the most, but im gonna add a couple others that i love
pics are posted at the end of each section!
(also literally who are you i adore you for sending this ask i hope u enjoy :3)
Early note: the nepherits, Jax, Syvis, & Panathir all exist in a very medieval-esque, magic fantasy world
Nepherits
Nepherits were created by The Necromancer thousands of years ago to be vicious warriors to help The Necromancer take over the world. These creatures were necromanced from dead bodies, and are, at their core, clones of The Necromancer, infused with his traits before being trained to hone their capabilities, based on what he wanted to use them for (e.g. melee, ranged weapons, stealth, etc.).
They are basically body-snatchers; when the body they're in begins to deteriorate, they pull the soul out of a living body and take control of it. Once they have control of the body, much of the biology of it ceases, and it takes on a very corpse-like appearance--its alive, but just barely. They have no blood, heartbeat, or body heat (they are constantly ice cold to the touch); almost no color in the skin, eyes, or hair; sunken cheeks, dark circles around the eyes, a discolored tongue (usually a purple-ish color); and they lose their ability to taste, detect temperature, and reproduce. However, they still have to eat, drink, sleep, and blink, or else the body will fully die (though nepherit-occupied bodies can go for longer periods of time without these).
The Necromancer was very close to taking over the world because the nepherits were such excellent fighters with extraordinary stamina and the inability to die. However, the nepherits, who were greatly abused by The Necromancer, rose up against him and killed him. They thought they would be hailed as heroes for this, but were so greatly feared and hated by the entire world that they couldn't live in normal society.
After The Necromancer was dead, the nepherits collectively started having an existential crisis. They had no purpose anymore. They didn't have their own identities. They weren't allowed to lead normal lives with others. Everyone wanted them dead. There was no point in existing anymore. Many nepherits committed suicide (allowing themselves to die without taking a new body), while the remainder exiled themselves to an island referred to as the Dead Isle, where they tried to build their own society secretly. It is a sad society of only around 50 remaining nepherits, but they try their best to survive and find some meaning. They are constantly afraid of being discovered and still periodically lose nepherits to suicide, but they emotionally support each other. They often have town meetings that act as group therapy sessions, and decorate the naturally desolate landscape of the Dead Isle with brightly colored flowers.
Nepherits are almost folklore at this point. People know what they are through stories and do suspect that some are still around, but most go their entire lives never seeing one. People do not know that the nepherits live on the Dead Isle. They just think it is a haunted island and stay away--if you go there, you do not come back. Nepherits are, of course, still widely hated and seen as monsters (though the rare few who are more knowledgeable about the scarcely-recorded Necromancer's War do see them as noble heroes).
Misc. facts:
Aside from Jax (see below), there are also four nepherits known to be in the world; 3 are employed by the king regent and used as body guards and as a scare tactic (there was one more, but the regent's father had killed him for insubordination); the 4th is a vengeful nepherit said to be working for a reincarnation of The Necromancer, though that is purely a rumor (see Panathir below)
Nepherits have no memory of the life they lived before they were necromaced and became nepherits
The Necromancer tagged the ear of each nepherit to distinguish them, enchanting the tags to attach to the nepherit's essence so they would transfer onto each new body
Many nepherits chose their name based on the letters and numbers on their ear tags
Some nepherits change their pronouns based on the body they're in, while others stick with one set
Jax (they/them)
Jax is a nepherit who had left the Dead Isle thousands of years prior to the present day. They were tired of being exiled and wanted to do something with their existence and see the world. They are nomadic and still an excellent fighter, and get by doing mercenary/adventuring work, as well as selling wooden sculptures that they hand carve.
While Jax is often discriminated against, they are good at getting others to like them by matching their energy and being socially intuitive. To others, they are easy-going, friendly, witty, agreeable, helpful, and successfully help others feel comfortable, supported, and included. Truly, this is key to their survival.
While they do not regret leaving the Dead Isle, it has been very difficult for them to grapple with the inherent issues of being a nepherit all on their own, without anyone else to be able to relate to or feel supported by. They have a lot of mental health issues and struggle with feelings of self-hatred, loneliness, depression, anxiety, neurosis, a lack of purpose, a lack of identity, abandonment, anger and rage, self-harm, existential fears, paranoia, and suicidal ideation. They constantly feel weighed down by the stigma they carry being a nepherit and frantically try to avoid reinforcing stereotypes about them, often to their own demise. They minimize their own issues and feelings to be as palatable to others as possible. This prevents them from making true connections with other people, even though they crave companionship.
In addition to the stigma that others hold against them, they also suffer from a lot of self-stigma. They often hate themselves just as much as others do, if not more. No matter how hard they try to show people they are a good being, they know they aren't. They lament ever being made and feel abandoned by the gods. They don't even consider themselves to be "alive" or a "person"--they just "exist" as a "being" or a "thing" or a "creature".
However, they've come a long way, and have a better hold on themselves now than they have in the past. They feel that they have found some sort of purpose through helping other people live the best lives that they can, even if its just in small ways. Mortals have such short lives, and it would be a shame to make these lives harder than they need to be. They have learned to cope better with losing people, but of course it still hurts when a friend is particularly close to them.
They do have a difficult time when they have to switch bodies. They always feel immensely guilty and will apologize to their victim. They do not react to killing people in fights and whatnot because those are enemies and, because they are dying normally, their souls get to go to whatever afterlife there is and can rest peacefully. When switching bodies, though, the person isn't really dying because the body is still alive--their soul is being ripped out and thrown into the ether. Jax has no clue where it goes and assumes they just wander aimlessly forever, which weighs heavily on them. But still, they have to survive somehow.
Misc. facts:
They keep a journal! Nepherits still have a human-length memory capacity, so Jax writes down a lot of notes that they think will be helpful in the future in a big journal. However, they are a TERRIBLE note-taker, so the journal is just full of random words, drawings, and symbols that they scribbled down. When the time comes to refer back to their notes, it's a total puzzle, basically.
They have a secret location where they store all of their past journals.
They love kids and get along well with them.
They had an adopted son once and loved being a parent.
They love to dance and are really good at it.
They love the theater but are definitely not gifted enough to ever be a part of a show.
With each body, they follow the same color scheme (black base, with red and purple accents), prefer to keep their hair short, and tend to wear long sleeves and pants; each body gets a different kind of outfit and a different dual-wielded weapon than the last one (they currently use axes!)
The scar across their nose appears on every body they take because it was given to them by The Necromancer, so it is bonded to them.
They love physical touch, but often avoid it because of how cold their skin is. When shaking hands, they will cover their hand with their sleeve or something, and when someone gives them a hug, they make sure to crane their face away from the other person's so their skin doesn't touch theirs.
Because they can't taste anything, Jax prefers foods that have a crunchy texture.
If something is hot enough (e.g. tea), Jax can *very slightly* feel a hint of warmth
Despite not being able to feel temperature, Jax will dress somewhat weather-appropriate, so as not to look out of place
Jax's ear tag was J4X-115
They pry their ear tag off every time they switch bodies
Ironically, they still love to fight and kill, a product of the nepherits' inherent--yet guilt-inducing--warrior bloodlust. Nothing brings out their "LET'S FUCKING GOOO" side like a tournament
Though nepherits take what they can get, body-wise, Jax tends to end up in biologically male bodies because their body-switching often happens when they're in a fight, which usually means there's more men around (though they have taken female bodies before, of course)
I play them in a game for the Genesys RPG system
Jax is VERY MUCH inspired by my own experience with borderline personality disorder LOL
They were a LOT sleazier in the beginning of developing them. Very scammy and fake with how they would make people like them and use others for their own gain
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(1. as a nepherit warrior; 2. their current body; 3. a different body!; 4. literally ignore Topher, but this is the only full-body drawing I have of them in their current design with their axes LMAO)
(if you go into my annikuh's creating tag, you'll for sure find more Jax :3)
Syvis (she/her)
Syvis is an elf! She's independent, intelligent, intuitive, confident, level-headed, dedicated, and excellent with a bow and arrow. She's the daughter of a florist (her father) and the region's head religious leader (her mother). All three are very well-respected. She and her community are very nature-based, as is their religion, and the elves in general are immortal.
She's also Jax's soulmate. She found them on the side of the road being beaten by a gang of cart thieves and (after almost shooting them in the head too lol) took them in to make sure they weren't hurt after hitting their head so hard. Syvis clicked with Jax quickly, even though Jax was truly a disaster and at the lowest point of their existence, and the two became friends and lovers. She got a lot of backlash from her community for associating with a nepherit, but she let it roll off her back and was sure to protect Jax from any negativity. Eventually, the community accepted Jax in--they weren't going anywhere, so they might as well. She's a great rock for Jax, being unconditionally loving while still being firm with them. And while she and her family are highly religious, they are very respectful of Jax's aversion to the gods.
In the present day, unfortunately, Syvis and the elves have been dead for several hundred years after the humans committed a mass elven genocide. She had been killed right in front of Jax by a dozen human soldiers, whom Jax promptly obliterated. Jax had recently found a drawing of the two of them, but because it was so long ago, they couldn't remember who she was but knew she had to be important. Eventually, they accidentally stumbled upon the room where she had been killed (thanks to their god-awful notes they followed)--littered with human bones and, at the back wall, Syvis's skeleton displayed, decorated with flowers and her headscarf. All the memories quickly came flooding back to Jax, and they are still struggling with this grief again. Now, they carry the scarf with them.
Misc. Facts:
She helped Jax raise their son
She loves adventuring
She is also a very good dancer; one of her and Jax's first bonding moments was them dancing together
Syvis was the first person to touch Jax's bare skin without flinching or reacting
She finds Jax's skin temperature refreshing because she naturally runs hot
Her color scheme is very warm and earthy colors--she likes orange and yellow the best
The headbands and the many piercings on her ear are common elven traditions
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(1. part of the Barbie meme i did with her and Jax, though she did end up in this situation once or twice; 2. the night they first met :3)
Panathir (he/him)
Panathir is another nepherit and considered to be Jax's twin. When he was created, The Nec had considered him defective for his purpose, possessing more extreme negative traits that outweighed any beneficial skills he had. The Nec held onto Panathir, as he was still one of the first nepherits that were created (number 11), and didn't want to fully destroy him--he was still another warrior that could be used. However, Jax was created to correct the mistakes that The Nec had made with Panathir, thus making Jax nepherit number 11.5. They are the only set of nepherit "twins" that were ever created.
Panathir is insecure, vengeful, impulsive, abusive, obsessive, codependent, power-hungry, and emotionally stunted, and makes it everyone else's problem. Whereas Jax feels stigma about being a nepherit, he knows he's evil, he knows he's a villain, and the fear makes him feel powerful. He's very obsessed with being the dominant position in every situation, but his insecurity makes any perceived disrespect--however minor--feel like a threat on his life.
He feels incredibly threatened by Jax, as he is fully aware they are better than him in every way possible (e.g. better warrior; self-sufficient without him) and far more well-liked than he is. This manifests in him tearing down Jax however he can to assert his dominance over them; he truly hates them. At the same time, he is obsessed with them. Jax makes him feel whole and he craves their love and acceptance, and he (often successfully) tries to isolate them from others who may steal Jax away from him. Jax is the only one who cares/cared about him (despite how afraid they are of him), and kindness from them make him melt; this makes him feel pathetic and even angrier at them. Very much an "I hate you, don't leave me" dynamic.
After The Necromancer was killed, Panathir and Jax tried living in the real world and, like the rest of the nepherits, were highly discriminated against. Panathir preferred to literally fight back against this; if someone wanted him dead, it gives him free reign to kill them. He and Jax lived by this for a while, terrorizing the mainlands who dared to hate them, but this got to Jax, eventually, and they insisted they retreat to the Dead Isle.
After mounting concerns about Panathir's violence and the vengeful person they felt Panathir was turning them into, Jax had abandoned him in the middle of the night to escape him, plunging Panathir into millenia of constant distress and anguish over this abandonment and betrayal. He spent every day thinking about them, hating them and crying over them and begging the universe to bring them back to him, and only stayed "alive" out of the small possibility that he'd find them again. His rage built constantly and he externalized his anger often. Whereas Jax often turns their distress on themself, he turns it outward on others and has never emotionally progressed.
Luckily for him (and unluckily for Jax), he has found them again and works constantly to make them regress back into the violent and vengeful person they were when they were with him, and isolate them from their friends by convincing them that nobody else understands them like he does. He genuinely thinks he is helping them by doing so, believing that their constant masking and catering to mortals is a waste of their time and actively harmful to their quality of life, but he will put that belief on the back burner if it means that they stay in his life. He wants the best for them, and thinks that what's best is being with him.
Jax doesn't remember him, but he is so desperate and in such clear pain that they can't help but take him in. They see their younger self in him, and want to help him be better, but his words also worm their way into their head and easily influence them, trapping them back into that abusive dynamic.
Misc. facts:
He is VERY smug most of the time, believing himself to be better than others
He walks very heavily, as if the massive chip on his shoulder actually holds weight
Anytime Jax threatens to leave him, he will go to extremely humiliating lengths to keep them there, even throwing himself at their feet; if they were to actually leave him for good, he'd likely commit a murder-suicide
He fostered some magical capabilities
His obsession with Jax resulted in a deeply and violently psychosexual attachment to them; his feelings are romantic/erotic in the same way that stalking, or wanting to skin and cannibalize someone alive, or keeping someone in your basement, or cuddling with the person you just murdered are
He is very handsy with Jax, often softly touching their face or their hair, and has to hold them while he sleeps; the amount of physical contact and the intimacy of it is often unnerving for Jax, but they are so touch-starved and so happy that they don't have to worry about him pulling away because of their temperature that they just let it happen
He's a talented artist and can easily draw Jax from memory
Over the time he spent without them, he created a wall of illustrations of Jax, some of which he collected (e.g. "wanted" posters), and others that he had drawn; he would frequently stare at these and throw darts or knives at them when he was angry
He has a good memory of Jax and can recall details about them that they didn't even remember, due to his obsessive fixation on them.
His color palette is opposite of Jax's--dark green and teal
He has a large scar diagonally across his chest (at the same direction and angle as Jax's scar across their nose), given to him by The Necromancer, that follows him into every new body he takes
He had coincidentally been working with the villains that Jax and their friends were going after, which is how their paths crossed again
When he had caught wind that Jax was nearby, he lured them to him by torturing and killing a family, then kidnapping and psychologically torturing one of their friends, knowing this would upset them enough to lead them to track him down
His nepherit ear tag was J4X-11, though he quickly changed that once The Necromancer was dead and the other nepherits began changing their names to try and distance himself from Jax
Like Jax, he, too, removes his tag when he changes bodies, often destroying them himself

[[here come some notable OCs that i love but don't talk about much!]]
Asma Acerbi de Pesce Verde (she/her)
Asma is a 35 year old human and comes from the lower fishing caste, Pesce Verde, on the planet Apep (culturally based on an Indian-Italian fusion). She comes from a big family with six siblings. Her father was a military cook until he had to retire after Asma's mother committed suicide when Asma was very young.
She is the captain and astrogator on a small cargo trading spaceship. She's mature, intelligent, good in a crisis, easy-going, and physically strong and athletic. She's alright with a gun, but great in melee.
Asma also has psionic powers! She was really good with them when she was younger, specializing in telepathy and telekinesis. Right before she finished her training, she was psychically attacked by an evil specter during her final demonstration for school. The attack left her traumatized enough that she became basically homebound, too scared to do anything. She does not use her powers very often now, out of fear of another attack and because the psychiatric medication she was put on affected her ability to use them well. But she'll pull em out in an emergency if she needs to.
Misc. facts:
She is in a very committed relationship with the ship's engineer, Kathra (who my partner made, and they are very cute together)
She's very spiritual, using a lot of crystals and meditation and such. It helps her cope with her trauma really well.
She has a pet water dragon (which looks like a bearded dragon), named Premee (meaning "sweetie"). Apep water dragons have mild psychic powers with sweet demeanors, which makes them excellent emotional support animals
Made for a Traveller RPG campaign!
Tumblr media
(I don't have ANY drawings of her in her actual design, but this is the art I use for her in our rpg LOL i'll update and lyk when i draw her fr LMFAO)
Lucia DeSalerno (she/her)
Lucia is a very conservative Italian catholic in her late 20s who hunts ghosts and demons. She was raised by an equally conservative single mother and has no siblings. Her mother was killed by a ghost several years earlier, and now Lucia is out to rid the world of these kinds of monsters.
Lucia has a very strange relationship with God. Her religion is all she knows and it's the only way she believes she can live her life, but even though she's taught that everything is in God's plan, she blames God for not protecting her mother and leaving her alone. She holds a lot of contempt and anger toward God, while also begging for his love, help, and forgiveness.
Her personality is very cold, bitter, judgmental, stubborn, self-righteous, and headstrong. She always has a huge chip on her shoulder and is clearly not coping well in any aspect of her life, but she's a really good monster hunter.
Misc. facts:
She uses a dagger that has been blessed by her priest, with a handle shaped like a crucifix with the sacred heart of Jesus in the middle
I have only used her once in a Monster of the Week oneshot, which is a total shame bc she's really interesting imo
Tumblr media
Odille Vale (she/her)
Odille is a sex worker who doubles as a spy and assassin, known in the criminal underworld as the "Hawk in the Mist" for her hooked nose--the only feature that can be seen when her hood is up when carrying out a hit. She uses her job at the brothel, The Painted Hen, to collect information on the other gangs in the city and her targets; it's surprising how much these male customers disclose. To others, Odille is serious, determined, straight-edge, cool, calm, and collected. She's stealthy, good with a gun, and an excellent improviser. The world she lives in is crime- and gang-ridden, dark 24/7, musty, and haunted by ghosts. It kind of has similar vibes to a creepy Jack-the-Ripper-Era England.
Odille's late husband, Colin, had met her when she was a sex worker and whisked her away to live an affluent life. When he suddenly died, his family left her with nothing, seeing her previously line of work as a stain on the family's reputation, leading her to have to return to sex work. When that was no longer enough to pay the bills, she got the opportunity to break into the criminal underworld and took it, finding that she had a knack for it.
Unfortunately, the loss of Colin has left Odille in a perpetual state of mourning. She deprives herself of any sort of fun or pleasure because it causes her to feel guilty--how can she be happy if her husband is dead? It is so severe that even smiling makes her feel bad. She refrains from drugs, alcohol, and non-work-related sex--not to mention love--lest she enjoy herself too much. People say that a late partner would want their widow to enjoy their life and move on, but Odille doesn't think so.
However, she is not immune to moments of weakness, especially around Henry (see below! please!). On nights when Odille gets too carried away celebrating a job well done or lamenting a job went wrong, she'll often have sex with Henry. She will give him a dollar that he then gives back to her so money is technically exchanged, creating a loophole that makes it a business transaction. She knows, though, that these spontaneous moments feel much different than any other time she's had sex with him at the Hen. She wants him, but her guilt won't let her have him, and she's sure to punish herself greatly for it the next morning.
Misc. facts:
While she dolls herself up for her job at the Painted Hen, she conducts her criminal work in male attire--a white button-down, black slacks and vest, black boots, a long black cape, no makeup, and her hair slicked back
Her gang is called the Audubon Society because, coincidentally, everyone has a bird-related alias
She still wears her wedding ring
She had never shot a gun before taking her first hit job
She's my newest character, made for the Blades in the Dark RPG system
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(picrew here! will eventually draw her too, but the few times i've tried i've hated it lol)
Henry (he/him)
Henry is Odille's closest friend, business partner, and most loyal customer. He runs a pub in the next neighborhood over and allows Odille and the Audubon Society to operate out of the basement. He is friendly, polite, intuitive, respectful, unassumingly intelligent, sober, and a shrewd businessman. He's knowledgeable about the criminal underworld from the information he overhears from his patrons, and helps Odille in her negotiations with other gangs.
He had first met Odille at the Painted Hen. It was his first time meeting with a sex worker and he was very shy and nervous, so asked if they could do some small talk before jumping into anything. They ended up talking all through sex, and he had such a good time with her that he kept coming back to see her. He would come by every night after closing the pub to come see her--sometimes for sex and sometimes not--and they struck up a good friendship.
Henry truly adores Odille, even though she keeps him at an emotional arm's length. He revels in the moments where she lets herself go, whether it be a loud laugh, confessing a deeper emotion, or spontaneously seducing him and making love to him. Henry truly cherishes those nights they sleep together outside of the Painted Hen's walls when she returns all the love he shows to her, though it stings to have to still "pay" her for it. He knows she has some sort of baggage that she won't tell him about and respects this, but it is heartbreaking to see her put her wall back up. He would never consider cutting her off, though; that heartache is worth it as long as she's still in his life.
Misc. facts:
He taught Odille how to shoot a gun
When he goes to the Painted Hen, he always asks Odille if she wants to have sex that night, instead of just expecting it because he's paying her
He lent Odille his clothes to wear on her first hit job

Note
M4 with child!MC (another result of Felix's faulty potions) who's affectionate, playful, and is very honest. How would they be as caretakers? How would they react when MC gets attached to them with their grubby little hands >:) ? What would their day-to-day be like?
Sage would probably be like "oh shit😳 oh fuck what the hell". Felix would be frantically🏃 flapping through all parenting books in his possession. Anisa would be all heart-eyed like "oh MC you're so smol and adorable!!!😍🥺". Rime would lift you up by the armpits, stare at you like 🤨 tryna figure out what to do with you.
Man the gang is not well-equipped for taking care of a child
GN!Reader, they might have to put you on a leash depending on how energetic you are, Colored Bullet Rule (Felix, Anisa, Sage, Rime)
Anisa is out training with the Sunstone Knights. Sage is handling a tricky bounty. And Rime is off doing,, whatever he does in his free time. Frankly you aren't sure. He says he's doing Evil Necromancer Things but you're pretty sure he's just taking a nap.
Anyways that leaves you and Felix alone.
If you're dating then that's definitely a blessing. You guys mess with some spells and flip through a few books and probably take a nap on the couch.
Felix asked you to try out a new potion that's meant to increase mana. Well sure! You down it like a shot and wait for the effects to hit. Felix mentions it'll take an hour or so, so you might as well relax until then.
Alright. You have some studying to do any-
Poof!
,,, :)
Toddler!MC had appeared! And as Felix tries to wrap his brain around what just happened, you give a little giggle, tap his waist, chirp out a little 'tag!' and race off
,,,,,, fuck
Felix darts off after you but it's not like he's great at running y'know? So you're easily able to shoot off down the hall and out of sight
And if Sage is your partner and he's taught you about the secret passages? While your memory of your big (normal) self is certainly foggy, you still seem to have your muscle memories of where the hidden paths are and how to access them.
And since you're currently under the effects of his potion, the only magical signature he can track is his own, so that's out too.
I wouldn't say he's necessarily worried for your safety because Fathom is a safe place. He is worried about Anisa kicking his ass tho.
Speaking of, Anisa and Sage come back together, snacking on some pastries. Apparently they'd been tracking the same criminal and had been having a friendly competition to see who could catch him first. Which,, was,,, not the most successful thing because they got so caught up in their rivalry that the criminal nearly escaped and one of the other knights had to tackle them.
Anyways why does Felix look so disheveled?
Sage grins and says that oh, he and Anisa can leave if they're interrupting-
And then his ear flicks. A look of confusion passes over his face as he glances around. Anisa asks him what's wrong while Felix is slooooowly backing away.
Sage raises an eye at Felix and asks why the hell there's a kid here. Felix is further slinking away out of the room-
And then Rime walks in, carrying little-you from under the armpits, sweetly asking Felix what the fu- a glare from Anisa makes him pause - heck he managed to do
If you're normally dating Felix then he scoops you up with a relieved sigh, asking you where in the world you even managed to run off to! And then you boop his nose and say "You're it!" and run away again and now he has to try and find you while Rime and Anisa are lecturing him for improper magic use.
If you're normally dating Anisa then she's immediately scooping you up and spinning you around because Oh! Smol! Cute! And while normally she would be chewing Fe out she's a little too preoccupied with cuddling you. She leaves Rime to do the lecturing and goes to make you a snack, because you were running around for ages and you need some food. Will make you a sandwich and cut it into a cute shape.
If you're normally dating Sage then he's pulling you out of Rime's arms and giving the deer a quick snap of his fangs before asking if you're okay. And you, smol child that you are, immediately wanna start poking at his armor, ears, and tail. He lets you do it and he makes sure to keep his voice light and playful with you, but he's also glaring at Felix because What The Fuck Did He Do To You
If you're normally dating Rime then he's holding you against his hip properly. He thinks this is hilarious. Doesn't appreciate the fact that you're grabbing at his horns and pulling on his hair a lil bit but he thinks you're adorable so he'll let it slide. Could he fix this? Probably. Is going to? Not right away. Felix needs to learn a lesson.
Either way you're now a child and everyone is gonna have to work together to take care of you.
It makes sense that your partner becomes your primary caretaker, especially with how quickly and fiercely you bond to them.
You become Felix's little assistant! He gives you papers and crayons and a little lap desk and encourages you to doodle. Whatever you draw (yourself with magic, stick figure Rime and Sage fighting, a very crude attempt at Anisa in her armor, and Felix reading his books) gets pinned on the ice chest in the kitchen. Felix will go on grand sweeping rants and lectures to teach you about magic, and he constantly uses way-too-heavy language. He's patient with all your questions and does his best to answer them, but kids can throw some real curve balls.
Anisa is great at playing pretend! Obviously you guys play a lot of knight games. The little royal (you) is being guarded by your loyal knight (Anisa) when you guys get attacked by the fearsome dragon (usually Sage) that the knight has to slay. Anisa and Sage both really ham it up. Sometimes the Fearsome Darkness Wizards (Felix and Rime) will make an appearance as well, but they aren't great at playing pretend. Anisa always wins the battle and swoops you off to safety.
In as much as I joke that none of the gang are prepared to look after a small child, Sage actually is. He raised Tulsi after all, and she turned out pretty good! He's got enough energy to keep up with you, can use his hearing and smell to track you, knows how to make some tasty af snacks, and makes sure to put you down for naps on a decent schedule. He lets you play with his ears as much as you want but does remind you to be careful/gentle with them.
Since Rime still has his LoS-granted 'extra' magic and some access to forbidden times, it doesn't take him much time at all to find a reversal potion. But like I said, he wants to let Felix sweat a bit. And it's not like another two or three days will matter. So he spends most of the time walking around with you (or letting you ride on his shoulders) and showing you things.
You draw on the walls and Anisa tries to lecture you but you give her Big Eyes™ and she completely crumbles. Makes you help clean it up tho
Stella puts up with so much,, you are constantly pulling on her fur and chasing her and whatever,, Felix reminds you to be gentle but you're just really excited
Sage can swing you around,, you climb him like a jungle gym,,,, he grumbles a bit but he lets you do it
Rime makes snowballs for you to throw at Sage but you just eat them
You wake up in the middle of the night and wander around sometimes and fall asleep in weird places,,, scares the shit out of everyone
You are! Constantly! Complimenting everyone. You tell Felix his magic is cool! You tell Rime his hair is pretty! You tell Anisa she's really funny! You tell Sage he's really nice! Everyone is embarrassed because you're so open and honest about it.
Rime is reading and you crawl in his lap and ask him to read to you,, he puts on voices and stuff and it makes you giggle,,, and when he's done you say thank you :)
Everyone is so protective of you,, an older kid knocks you over and Sage and Anisa are going feral
Meanwhile Rime and Felix are spoiling you with toys and little outfits.

Laisren - Necromancy 2
- They're not quite capable of a "perfect" ressurection yet, in cases of severe decay and such. Actually calling the soul to the body and tethering it back down is fine, it's more the "sculpting" that trips them up a bit. Necromancers of extreme skill are able to mold even a decayed, severely damaged, or otherwise heavily disfigured corpse into almost anything they please.
With enough time, effort, and energy, anyway. Sculpting the undead back to the exact appearance they had before death? Easy. Changing things like hair, eye color, etc? Perfectly doable. Adding things like wings, antennae, claws, or even structural changes like adding or decreasing height, widening shoulders, etc? Again, with enough time, effort, and energy...it can be done. Most people would never even be able to tell that the one they're interacting with is undead in the first place.
With a fresher, or more whole corpse, Laisren is capable of doing most of these things...but when the body is more mangled, it's easier to tell that the being that results from the resurrection is undead. Blemishes might be left, or other mild deformities, but they're otherwise fully functional and able to go about their new "lives"
- Unfortunately, because the true Laisren wasn't a necromancer-- or really much of a magic user at all-- it would be weird if all of a sudden he was. Though Laisren (the current one, Oleander) always wanted to learn the way of the blade like their father, that's now essentially the only method of fighting that they can rely on for protection. Their necromancy needs to be kept a secret; only to be used in private, or in times when their life is imminently in danger.
- That being said, Laisren does have a familiar. A decently sized undead lizard that he's named Plinko whom he loves and adores. It looks similar to an alligator lizard, but...probably dang near 4ft long, including the tail. He also has two other undead (people, not animals.) that he can more or less summon at will, if the need arises. Typically they're passed off as servants to one of the Tuatha Dé Danann though, to keep them hidden any other time. One is named Graea, and the other is Cellach!
- Part of what makes it so easy for Laisren to call and bind souls back to a body is the plants that are part of his aspect. Because they're parasitic in more than just a physical manner, they often are able to create fine threads, or links between a body and a soul. This helps him to draw back some souls, but it typically used to help ease the process of actually rebinding them. Or preventing them from breaking apart at all during the rebinding. This results in a (typically) more "perfect" resurrection, in which the being is much the same as they were when they were still alive. Memories, personality, powers, and all.
- Plinko doesn't actually carry any of Laisren's plants in or on them. Rather, they have some of Laisren's bioluminescence-- the other half of their full fae aspect-- which allows it to glow, yes, but also makes it poisonous to the touch. Graea and Cellach, however, both carry some of Laisren's plants within them, and can spread them if given the order to do so.
- Laisren always makes sure to get permission from the prospective undead before resurrecting them. Makes sure to know what he needs them for, if anything, and ensures that they're aware of everything that goes along with the process.
- Those that Laisren bring back can't be killed by normal means-- Laisren can always (rather quickly, might I add) "heal" their wounds if they're gravely injured in a fight, or something like that. The only way to kill them again is to either kill Laisren first, or cut their bond to him.
- In order to keep them from heeding to the ever present pull that death has on the undead, regular "maintenance" is required. Other necromancers or similar beings are incapable of doing this for Laisren-- they can't maintain his undead, and they can't seize control of them from Laisren unless he's killed first, or the bond is completely cut. If they're taken from him and aren't properly maintained, they'll slowly start to succumb to madness, lose their sense of self, have their senses and other bodily functions slowly start deteriorating over time. If left long enough, all that will be left of them would more or less be a mindless husk, incapable of thought or movement.

Meir's and Feyre's first meeting
@fictionalbullshitter kinda reminded me I only shared bits and pieces of this since it took me days to finish this. I tag those who seemed interested in the snippets so far. Tell me if I am wrong, if you like to be tagged in the future. @verba-writing @cljordan-imperium @oh-no-another-idea @ettawritesnstudies @ashen-crest
The sunlight told him it must be close to noon. Meir went through his stuff and grabbed his dirty clothes from the road to pack them up for the washing women to drop them off on his way to Maud. If there was one thing, he was sure off today, then it was no new assignments, contracts or whatsoever for a week at least. Relaxed and calm due to being home, this mother of all bruises on his rips started to hurt like shit, and he knew he wouldn’t be fit to fight like this.
Hair still wet but bound together in a messy bun on his nap, he made his way to Maud. Mer’Teval was the same as always. Busy streets with busy people going through their day’s work, chatting and yelling after the kids while in the distance The Crystal shone like its namesake enforcing how distant the royal family was from the daily life of their subjects.
Meir snorted at this. Just four years ago he could enter The Crystal to his liking and enjoy a small fraction of the amenities as royal guard, but now he was here, just one of many. Just another misfit. Deep down, in those small moments of honesty, Meir admitted, he liked this life more. It was real, but most of all, he was free.
“You are healers! What would Ashetan say about his followers treating a person in need like this?” The angry voice of an equally angry beast-woman pulled Meir out of his musings. His gaze followed the sound and found her in a faceoff with one of the other healers in town. Curious about the situation, he stepped closer. “We don’t treat your kind here. Get lost.” “My kind? What do you mean?” Anger left for confusion, and the cat ears on the beast-woman twitched rapidly. Her tail lashed left and right. “You know what I mean.” The healer, a sturdy older woman, nodded towards something on the beast-woman’s chest. “You…” A mean hiss followed before she turned around.
Meir still stood a few steps away and followed her side by side with the hope to catch a short glance on what got the healer riled up like this. Abruptly, the beast-woman stopped and took a deep breath. “Ok, Feyre, you can do this. You can find a stupid healer, who still remembers their stupid vow. This is a big city, and you are a big kitty.” A small smile crept on Meir’s face as he overheard her motivate herself in this adorable way. The smile froze when he finally caught what the healer took offense in: The crest of the necromancers. Confused about a female necromancer, he almost lost her in the crowd. He heard of them, and he also heard of the necromancers teaching everyone interested in their doing, but a beast-woman was clearly something he never saw nor heard off.
Feyre stopped again when she tried to make out the signs on the shops to see if one was a healer, and gave Meir the chance to catch up with her. His bag of dirty clothes in his arms, he stepped in front of her with a small smile. “Hello, I happen to see how the healer treated you and I might be able to help you.” Her eyes narrowed at him. Slowly, she crossed her arms in front of her chest. “You can?” “I know a healer who didn’t forget her vows to Ashetan. I happen to be on my way to her.” “You have a kind face and a charming smile”, she stated. Nothing on her posture changed. Even her ears gave away how tensed she was. “Is this a problem?”, Meir inquired innocently. “Kind faces hide the cruelest hearts.”
He was sure he looked as dumbfounded as he felt. Even if you never could really estimate the age of beast-people, Feyre seemed young, and such a statement from someone young was a bad sign. Meir reached out to shake hands. “I don’t know who hurt you to make you think this, but I am Meir. I am really just on my way to drop off my laundry and see a healer. I don’t even have my daggers on me. You could overpower me any given second if I would pull something weird on you.” For another long second, she just looked at him until she loosened up. “Show me the way then, but don’t think I won’t hurt you.” “I don’t doubt this.” Reluctantly, she shook his hand. “Feyre.” “A lovely name.” “Also a sweet-talker?” “Only if I meet sweet people.” Again she narrowed her eyes on him, what he took as a warning sign. Feyre was clearly a cautious woman. Slowly, he turned around and motioned into the direction where Maud’s small healer’s place was situated. “It’s down the street in a side alley. She is a friend, or more like an aunt?  Maud has a huge and caring heart, but also a huge mind and lots of opinions she won’t hold back. So, I apologize beforehand if she starts rambling about how the other healers treated you or politics or maybe both. You never know with her.” With a glance over his shoulder, Meir made sure Feyre followed him. She was only three steps behind him and started to look slightly scared at his warning. “Aunt?”, Feyre repeated, obviously confused. “She and her husband Amon kinda took it upon them to take care of misfits like me. You know, make sure we stay alive and won’t do too many stupid things.” He chuckled at this and shook his head. “What’s so funny?” “They aren’t successful with me. I hope they have more luck with Iskra. Poor girl really deserves to get known, singing herself coarse every night.”
After he said that, Meir realized how he rambled. Even if he was always a talkative guy, this wasn’t normal. While walking, he turned around and continue walking backwards, knowing the way to Maud in his sleep. “There is something about you”, he remarked with his index finger raised at Feyre while he held his laundry bag with other the hand up to his body. “You mean, beside my self-control? Others would have hexed you to make you shut up halfway through your rambling.” “Done that, been there, kinda fun.” He grinned cheekily and turned around again under her annoyed groan. “Give me a moment”, he warned her with the laundry bag raised and vanished into the house of the washing women. “Meir! Where have you been? The girls already bet on you either being dead or behind bars for good now”, the old warden greeted him. “Neither, as you can see. Got an assignment and just got back yesterday. Would you be so kind and also mend the shirt that got ripped?” Using his best puppy look on the old lady, Meir pulled out the purse to pay in advance as always. She sighed defeated. “You really need to learn how to do it yourself, boy.” “I can do it, but no one can do it as good as you, and I would only ruin your work with pricking my finger while mending it and get new blood in it.” “I get it, you damned smooth-talking bastard. Now get lost, before I change my mind.” She took the coins from him with a smile and a shake of her head. When Meir turned around smiling, he found Feyre who rested with her shoulder on the doorframe. Her face looked thoughtful. “Let’s go ahead. Maud is only a little further.” Softly, he pressed past her after dropping a bow. “Are you always sweet-talking?” “It never hurts to be nice, does it?” “Maybe.” With a gentle nod, Meir motions onwards. Maud’s place was only a few more houses down the street and whatever Feyre needed help with, it hopefully lightened her mood. “So, Feyre, what are you doing alone in such a big city? Aren’t mages usually in contract with adventurer groups?” “I am.” “Don’t they have a healer.” “No.” Abruptly, he stopped and held her by her shoulder. “What kind of adventurer groups doesn’t have a contract with a healer?” “A stupid one who thinks hiring a necromancer will keep them from any harm”, Feyre spat. A quick movement with her shoulder freed her from his grip. “Can we go?” “How badly wounded are you?” “Nothing bad, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to walk, right?” “Yeah, right…” Skeptically, he eyed her. Her getting more defensive the moment her adventurer group got mentioned put him on a tensed alarm. Kellen warned him about the rise of wannabe adventurers who ignore the rules of the kingdom and pulls clueless newbies along them. Greedy bastards who think they can skip on contract fees with healers and priests, not dividing the money fairly to those they hired, additionally and take borderline illegal assignments. All things he heard so far from Feyre pointed towards such a group, which meant she must be fresh out of training and had no clue about what to look for. Or the tower sold her out, for whatever reason.
In silence, they reached Maud’s healer house. Rhya came running outside with an empty bucket. “Whoa, slow down, curly. What’s the matter?” “Enriks again…” Meir groaned, knowing well it means the poor guy managed to get into something poisonous again and is now full of blisters that needed to be opened. “Let me get the water. It’s easier for me. Why don’t you help this young lady with her problems so long?” Happily, the female halfling handed him the bucket and grabbed Feyre by the hand. “What’s your name, sweets? How can I help you?” “Uhm… Feyre… I am with some adventurers and got some cuts and bruises that I like to be taken care off. Especially the one on the back.” Rhya smiled encouraging and nodded, sending her thick ginger curls flying. “Come in. We get your wounds cleaned up first thing, once this big buffoon comes back with the water.” Feyre’s laughter was the last thing Meir heard before he left for the well two houses back.

So I saw a post about this concept and thought it would make for a interesting ask. Magical damage, like a necromancers fingers slowly turning black and losing sensation or a wizard with lighting bolt scares across their arms. What dose it look like when your oc's push their magic beyond what their bodies can handle?
Ooh, spell strain and spell scars. This is a concept I adore.
Cypheus' magic is drawn from light and the stars, and over exertion is shown through the magic bleaching his skin. The effect is similar to Vitiligo, only more streaky, originating from his hands and eyes.
Xiltas' spell strain I think I've discussed at one point a long time ago. His magic being bases in chaos and transmutation causes some of his more... Volatile spells to leave a backlash that transforms parts of him body. Most notable both of his arms are covered in strange patterns of mismatched skin where he has to undo the damage caused by his magic.
