We Don’t Have Flying Cars, But We’ve Got Robots
Tumblr media
You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time. While this statement, quoted by John Lydgate is over 700 years old, the crux of the message rings just as true today... if not more.  For C-Level professionals who are looking at an enterprise-class database, you would be hard-pressed to find a more modern system than Salesforce, for breadth of functions, support and training and a responsive user experience. But with all of the advancements that Salesforce has implemented, this still is not enough to satisfy some who are waiting for every feature to be enabled before making their move. While we would all love for the perfect solution to be available with every conceivable feature in one tool, it is a fool’s errand as just around the corner there will be another function that will be devised which not every system will (immediately) adopt. With this in mind, what should be taken into consideration is to evaluate the best of what is available now, and make comparisons that dovetail to the needs of your business. This is where the ‘Widely-Available’ mindset should be used and if your enterprise is speculating on such a move (large or small) consider paying mind to the following important (yet not widely discussed) criteria in addition to the pedestrian options common among many CRM solutions:  Critical Acclaim From Fortune to CIO.com to Forbes, for years the recognition of how to do CRM right have continued to be bestowed upon Salesforce and the reason is simple... their continued investments in R&D and acquisitions of best-of-breed applications within their ecosystem. This has allowed Salesforce to continually innovate and build for the future in ways that competitors have utilized after-the-fact. Apart from tech-as-usual, Salesforce has also adopted a customer-first focus on security by utilizing an open and transparent system of trust. At any time, anyone can see the strength (or weakness) of the system by going to trust.salesforce.com and get instant statistics on (i) the status of their network, (ii) compliance and (iii) overall security. The site also provides important dates for upcoming version updates and Sandbox refresh times.  In additional to investing in the future of CRM, Salesforce continues to invest in others through philanthropic efforts, most notably their 1% model, pioneered by Suzanne DiBianca, which provides 1% of Salesforce’s equity, time or product back into the community, a program that other’s such as Twilio, DocuSign and other firms have adopted. If your firm is of the Not-for-Profit status, Salesforce’s ecosystem provides many tangible benefits (some pro-bono) that your enterprise may find appealing in contrast to other competitors who may charge the same across the board. Continuing Education If ongoing education is a priority among your staff, you would be hard-pressed to find a better system of user adoption than Trailhead. For years, Salesforce has invested heavily by continually updating their education system providing anyone access to all aspects of how Salesforce works including Sales/Marketing/Service, Development, Pardot, Heroku and others.
youtube
Each module also comes with it’s own knowledge-check / quiz to reinforce the learning objectives and to ‘gamify’ the experience, badges can be earned for each topic. The best part about Trailhead is that the knowledge gained can be immediately utilized within your organization as the learning environment / platform is the same system as your team’s Salesforce org.
Along with Salesforce’s education system are the many resources available for assistance with troubleshooting, highlighting every conceivable issue that your team may be facing, be it Einstein, Apex, Tableau or others. From the Trailblazer Community to StackExchange (which has a specific subdomain focusing exclusively on Salesforce) most of the time there are multiple answers which can be curated in which to choose the best solution possible as it applies to your unique issue. After all, Salesforce has been around for 23 years, and the likelihood is that the problems that arise in your Org are not unique. User-Recommendations / Voting of New Features Popularized by eBay in the late 1990s and early 2000′s, if you are familiar with the way influence is displayed to make accurate and precise buying decisions, Salesforce has taken this mindset right to the customer. Similar to how reviews are ranked and prioritized through crowdsourced feedback (i.e. Yelp, Hotels.com, etc.) Salesforce allows customers to review existing items and/or submit requests for new features through the IdeaExchange. Using this innovative and transparent means of capturing requirements from the users themselves, it’s a win-win for both the requestors as well as Salesforce. Each submission goes straight to the developers at Salesforce where it is given an initial value (Open) and where others can cast their vote to adopt the new entity. As the idea gains in votes and real-world use and urgency, the status likewise gets updated to ‘Under Consideration’ to ‘Pilot’, and if passed goes live in the next Salesforce release (of which there are 3 per year). When it comes to managing and configuring the system that will store your company’s mission-critical data, there are many attributes above the standard CRM-as-usual items which while you may not consider to be top-of-mind, are nonetheless important when your team needs it which should be taken into account when rounding out your selection process. Standard Objects, Fields, Workflow and overall platform performance are just the beginning and may have similarities with many of today’s CRM systems but it’s the astute professional that can visualize the ‘full enchilada’ by considering the non-immediate essentials that come standard with a solution that has been around the block a time or two. Keep in mind that the decision you make today will have lasting effects for many years down the road and while not any single solution will have 100% of what you are seeking, the 90% should have 100% of the bases covered.

The Old Galt Post Office was designed by Thomas Fuller (Library of Parliament) and completed in 1986. After years of decay, the City of Cambridge purchased the building five years ago and it is now Canada’s first all digital library. A perfect melting of old and new. • • • #galt #ontario #cambridge #grandriver #waterlooregion #oldpostoffice #richardsonromanesque #secondempire #thomasfuller #architecture #library #ideaexchange #rdharchitects (at Idea Exchange - Old Post Office) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bpz2uVfHCFo/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1fy9o7dugew4g

🪨🥀Median Series 🥀🪨 Is the study of the in-between and hand anatomy. Design comes from within, literally. I do not limit discovery to the surface of the body, in fact; the tendency to adorn jewels on veins is a tried and true practice. Ancient Romans believed the fourth finger on the left hand had a vein that ran directly to the heart—the Vena Amoris, or "Vein of Love." According to Benjamin Robert Haydon, an artist with tremendous anatomical precision, there just ain’t a “Vein of Love”. See! Storytelling creates traditions. The Median Ring silhouette explores new tradition and vein adornment in fine metals and gems. Taking “Love in Vein” to another level. #bespokebijules #bijulesfine #bijulesritual #bijulescustom #goldjewelry #bipocdesigner #loveinvein #medianring #diamondjewelry #jewelrystorytelling #elevatedjewels #csarite #alternativefinejewelry #ditchtheboring #ideaexchange #clientcollaboration #educationiskey #bycouture #couture2021 #vivalasvegas #dacmentorship (at Couture show, Wynn Las Vegas hotel) https://www.instagram.com/p/CS7lyyCFCqA/?utm_medium=tumblr
