okay i really hate to do this so soon after my last escapade into My Blog Being On Fire but. we need to talk about fan skin artists.

fan skin artists (and fan modelers!) are integral to a lot of the glitz and glam of a minecraft series, in particular, empires smp and the minecraft championship event, though hermitcraft is also bleeding into this lately. skin making to the level you see in videos and streams is really hard! i’m a skinmaker myself, actually, and my current default mc skin took me about six hours total to make, not including recent tweaks to the design, and on average my skins take me three hours each when they’re edited and five and a half hours each when they’re original. i’m also learning blockbench modeling, and though i’m very much a beginner, it doesn’t take much more than a beginner to tell you what kinds of techniques they use to get the models on empires and hermitcraft.

“well, luna, if you’re a skinmaker, why don’t you make fan skins? you clearly really like these series! it would probably be fun for you, right?” i hear you say, for the sake of my post flow.

you’re right, random citizen! i would love to make fan skins and fan models! it would be very fun for me!

however. there is a horrifically bad problem with ccs not asking permission to use people’s skins or flat out not giving credit for their skins at all. this is straight-up art theft, and it’s not okay. some of these artists already have online followings, and that’s the only reason i know who has made certain skins. ccs are notoriously terrible with affording skin artists and modelers the same respect they do with traditional fanartists (even if they pay modelers, it is my belief they should still be credited).

now, some ccs make their own skins! that’s great! but i genuinely cannot tell who has made their own skin and who has used a skin from someone else because nobody ever draws a distinction. i know a few ccs are typically really good with crediting artists in their videos—pearl, in particular, has a skin artist whom she credits often—but in events like mcc contestants often forget to credit their artists, and i’m left a bit skeptical if they asked to use the skins in the first place.

so. yeah. skin artists and modelers need to be given the same credit rights as fanartists. minecraft skins are just as much fanart as a painting someone put a lot of effort into. please, please, please always credit your artists.

idk i feel like we glossed over acosf way too quickly ?? like i need interviewers to stop asking about elriel and ask questions about feysand and about nessian like they never get talked about in interviews anymore !!!! i need to know why cassian doesn’t say i love u or why nesta was the 2nd female mc to lose her powers in the acotar series when no male character ever has !!

i know sjm doesn’t owe us any insights or explanations but i used to feel so much more connected to the series when she would answer questions on facebook and random cute questions about the couples or why she made the writing choices she did, now it’s all who’s azriel going to end up with like girl i couldn’t care less !!!!

anyway the release of acosf is a literal fever dream like even in the interviews ABOUT acosf the interviews were just hounding on az ?? and gwynriel or elriel ?? like god damn i need some archeron sister questions like feyre is never mentioned and she’s the literal mc ??

it really makes me feel like acosf just exists as a gateway for sjm to add lore that made the crossover possible. everything nesta did (dread troves etc) was literally just connecting acotar to cc more. really makes me sad to see nesta’s story be glossed over like that and then end up powerless as well and then we got no interview questions at all with sjm talking about her !!! it’s so frustrating to see feyre and nesta brushed to the side in interviews all the time i need more content about them

anyway if elain gets the same treatment as nesta in her book where she just has a half assed story i’m gonna be reallll mad 😭😭😭😭😭

Hello! Basically yes, she has talked more about the actual substance of her books in the past, but pre-COVID, those things weren't usually recorded. You just had to either go to the event yourself, and/or someone would make a really big post with a recap of the events. There are still some floating around here. They always got lots of notes because it was our main way of getting news from events.

EDIT - I meant to also say that I went to the Tower of Dawn event in London in 2017 and during that, she talked about her process of writing Chaol's trauma and stuff. So yeah, she does talk about these things! It's just not as easy to access that info for books pre-acosf.

I was disappointed in a lot of the acosf events :( I know that she talked about how her own experiences fueled Nesta's journey, which is okay, fine, so I guess you don't actually self-destruct in the way that Nesta did because that was like nowhere in acosf. Good to know, I guess. I would love more about Nesta and Cassian and how she decided to create their journey with them having so much tension (and sometimes downright hostility) but I guess we have to fill in the blanks ourselves.

Honestly, same haha! The fandom has sucked so much of the joy out of this series for me, my fucks are critically low. For Az especially. Yeah I have my clear preferences for what happens, but at the end of the day? I am experiencing an increasing amount of Do Not Give A Fuck. For so many reasons. This series is like crack, and I mean that in the most affectionate and derogatory ways.

I would add that in addition to a lot of stuff lately just being about the crossover, she talks about the sex in the books just... too much for my tastes. I don't give a shit about wingspan. The sex talk is fine generally, but it annoys me when it *replaces* discussions of stuff like... the pregnancy plot. Or Nesta's drinking. Or how Feyre is finding herself in the role of High Lady. Or where Elain's head is at.

Re: Elain, I am hoping that by the time we get there, all of the logistics of the crossover are well established and won't distract from her story. A girl can dream.

Now that I have a little more free time once again, I’ve got some news. So let’s get the main thing out of the way. I’m done with the Sims 4 anti paywall Community. They’re a bunch of team killing fucktards, and they’re gonna eat themselves alive, and uh, as a good song once said. “I have no fucks to give, my fucks have run a-dry!”. Worst case scenario, if shit hits the fan, and we end up back at square 1 with EA, where they aren’t enforcing their policies, and CC creators are illegally profiting off of their content, I’ll do what I did before I found the anti paywall evidence community. I’ll pay for tiers, nab the content, and leak it with burner accounts. Point is, I couldn’t give less of a shit about the morons in that particular community. Karma is a real fuckin bitch, and everyone’s gonna get what’s coming to them eventually. It’s just a matter of time. P.S. There’s also been a lot of discourse since a bunch of screenshots dropped by Mack, and everyone’s bitching about how she was being dumb for it, and irresponsible, and I have to laugh at those people. Mostly because I know there are individuals who’d love to sit there and look over my account every second of the day like the fucking schizo lunatic they are (They will not be named, because I’m not drawing more attention to them than I need to, if you know, you know.), might as well clear out the weirdos that are either leaking them shit from my account, or allowing them to even look over my account, as well as ultimately burn some unneeded bridges. ive been calling c! beeduos relationship platonic because i thought that was what their cc’s said, and i thought they had said that they were uncomfortable with ppl shipping the characters. But ive seen a lot of posts that say their relationship is canonically romantic? and i absolutely do not want to come across as homophobic by watering down a mlm relationship to just friends because that happens so much in media so.

what is the canon state of their relationship / ur opinions on the platonic thibg

aw it’s totally fine, im flattered you asked me about this!

let me put it simply: it’s a whole mess, lol.

first im going to talk about what’s happened fandom-wide that caused differing opinions, and then i’ll explain my own opinion/interpretation. :]

(this got really fucking long im so sorry)

ranboo and tubbo initially proclaimed the relationship was romantic, specifically in argument with the wiki editors who had set it as platonic by default. (you can see this in the vod where they decide they’re canonically married— it’s very funny. chat tells them the marriage is already on the wiki, they check, tubbo is jokingly offended that it says platonic and asks if he needs to up the romance).

tubbo also makes jokes about adultry, which sort of implies the relationship is not necessarily a platonic one.

(theres definetly more in that stream alone but it’s been a long time since i watched it so i don’t remember a lot of it.)

the wiki, because of this, suffers from going back and forth on platonic and romantic, seemingly unsure where the joke ends and the canon begins, or if its canonically a joke! a mess, as you can already tell.

this gets more complicated as the marriage bit goes on: outsiders, such as phil and scott, both at one point say “platonic marriage”, which then ranboo and tubbo agree with. however, when chat asks them if they’re platonic, they say the opposite. so there is a lot of confusion there.

there’s also the difficulty of being able to tell streamers and characters apart. ranboo and tubbo both don’t like being shipped irl, and that’s their boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed. (they’re also minors, but tbh when they’re 18 in a year i will still be following their boundaries regardless of their legal age).

due to people not wanting to be accused of minor shipping, they started adding the platonic tone indicator to most of their drawings— basically a way of saying “no homo”. meanwhile, tubbo frequently on stream flirts with ranboo and makes quite a bit of nsfw comments towards him that are frankly hilarious.

this goes on for a while with nobody really sure what’s canon, but a lot of people assuming it’s probably platonic, until: the drama of the mods night. a few mods dmed all the wiki editors telling them ranboo wanted his canon character relationship officially set to platonic.

unfortunately for those mods; the very same day, a few hours later, ranboo on stream makes fun of puffy delivering him and tubbo “friendship flowers”. because, and i quote, “bruh. we’re literally married. this must be how the ancient greeks felt.”

in case you don’t know, the internet often jokes about how historians will call ancient greeks ‘very good friends’ when they are quite obviously gay. so in this context, ranboo is joking that people will call him and c!tubbo, who are married, “close friends”, when he doesn’t think they are.

basically, ranboo canonized romantic bee duo, the very same day the mods told everyone he’d wanted a platonic one.

chaos and drama immediately erupted everywhere. on tumblr, we were talking about how weird it was of his mods to do something like that without asking him first. we ALSO talked about how weird it was of them to assume that ranboo can’t make his own decisions, or assume teenagers cannot be in relationships without it being sexual. twitter did the same thing but in the opposite direction: called ranboo mods homophobic, or said they were mad ranboo felt pressured into making a romantic relationship canon ‘just so people could have mlm rep.’

i dont want to go into detail about the drama that happened that night because apparently official people follow me and i dont want to stir it up or have them come “clarify” things. im just saying what we talked about.

ranboo in typical ranboo fashion apologized quickly and seriously. he was deeply sorry for possibly offending anyone with how he’d portrayed his rp relationship with tubbo, and he also assured everyone the mod thing was just a miscommunication.

he said he would talk to tubbo and they’d decide once and for all whether it was platonic or romantic, and then announce so everyone would know.

it’s now been a few months and we've had no word from them on that development. we still have no clue.

now, here’s my opinion:

i want to take ranboos word for it that it was a miscommunication with his mods, but... we had it on good authority from people on the wiki team and people in the discord with the mods that (while it was happening) they were really going after the wiki admins, and also made some weird comments about it. that combined with the way ranboo seemingly had no clue (considering he canonized their romance that very same day).... it’s very. sus of the mods.

then there’s the canon we’ve got since then. although occasionally adults in the room have called it a “platonic marriage” and tubbo once (back when it first started) called it a “plankton tectonic” marriage, in roleplay it’s been... kind of not that. tubbo and ranboo make nsfw jokes about each other in character, and their characters also share a master bedroom and bed in the mansion. there's also the way c!tommy really thinks it’s a romance between them as well, and they agree with and play off that— for instance confirming that they “fell in love” when he asked, or ranboo confirming that they “make out on occasion”.

people will still put platonic on their art and posts, imo, because they’re worried about breaking ranboo and tubbo’s irl boundaries by looking like they ship them. or even just being accused of shipping real life minors. and that’s a valid fear to have.

the thing is though: c!bee duo are not cc!bee duo. they’re roleplay characters. cc!bee duo are not okay with being shipped, but they made their characters get canonically married, and call each other “husbands”. so it’s okay to write the word “husband” in your comic without adding “platonic” to it, i promise.

telling the ccs that their characters have to be platonic is... weird. it comes off as not only babying them, but also as saying teens can’t date without it being gross. which isn’t true.

(this is why seeing people overuse “platonic husband” so much bothers me. like, they ARE husbands. you can just say it. what are you trying to hide...?)

do i think they’re canonically romantic? ehh, its likely. it’s still okay to interpret them as platonic, because again, it’s hard to tell where jokes end and roleplay begins. like, maybe it’s jokes in the rp too, and c!bee duo are just friends. friends can and should be allowed to make jokes like that with each other! aro & ace marriages exist!

or, maybe it’s actually part of the rp, and they’re very much romantic. we don’t know!

some people say they could be a qpr (queerplatonic romance), which i could see. (a qpr is a relationship that fluctuates between, or can’t quite be sorted into, “romantic” and “platonic”. people in a qpr can do romantic things while having platonic feelings for each other). in my opinion this is a very valid interpretation as well!

its likely, but you can still interpret them however you like!

should i put /p on bee duo content?

ehhh? i find it annoying when it’s overused (as do others), but if you’re worried you can. its up to preference. putting it too much is weird though

no. you’re not the one saying it so you can’t decide the tone tags for that. imagine you said something to your friend and a random stranger came up and was like “haha but that was /p right...?”

mmm. i’m not sure on this one. they are canonically married and very flirtatious, but the ccs don’t like being shipped and they’re close enough to being the ccs that actively shipping might be against boundaries.

can i treat c!bee duo as romantic?

yes. literally just don’t be weird about it. it’s not that hard! you can understand that two characters are husbands without making it weird

here’s the most important thing: boundaries. cc bee duo still haven’t told us what their preferences and canon is about this whole thing.

right now, i am assuming based on what they already show us they’re comfortable with, but! the second they give us any more info! all these opinions will change!

i am only going off what they do. i would never want to cross boundaries at all. i just wish they would make theirs a little more clear.

Maybe It Was The Rain

Maybe it was just the rain. The sound of it pattering on my window shield so loud it could cover up literal screams. Or maybe it was the overwhelming tension building up in my body; like filling a cup with boiling water. Making its way all the way up to my eyes and pouring out of me in the most helpless, shameless sobs I have ever let out. My hands gripped the steering wheel on either side of where I rested my head. I haven’t cried like this in so long.

After a while I picked up my head and leaned back in my seat. I wiped away my tears with the sleeves of my sweater and took a few deep breath’s. Once I gathered myself and the rest of my things I ran out the car as fast as I could to the front door, trying my hardest not to get soaked by the rain.

I was welcomed into my home with an immediate thud coming from upstairs, followed by loud laughter and a string of curses. Just for a moment, the corners of my mouth perked up from their sorrowful position. Even a tiny smirk on a day like this felt so nice. I set my things down, a sigh of content drifting off my lips. It felt good to be home.

More laughter rang down the steps, catching my attention as I slowly made my way to the room I suspected they came from. Sapnap hadn’t told me he was streaming today, so I assumed he was just in vc with some of his friends. I usually hesitated before opening the door or I would just opt to knock and wait for him to answer but I was so groggy and upset that I just barged in. In the middle of screaming his head off my boyfriend whipped his head around to look at who had just walked in. On his screen was a Valorant game that seemed to have just been lost, as I could have expected.

“Hey” my raspy voice from the sobs I let out earlier must have caught his attention. I watched his expression grow worrisome as he turned back around to his monitor and muted himself in the discord call. The last thing I wanted to do was worry him while he was busy with his friends, so before he could even get up I quickly switched our attention to his lost game.

“Wow, I have to come home after a long day of work to a loser?” I cleared my throat to get rid of the rasp and let out a soft chuckle. His worry seemed to have subsided as he rolled his eyes at me before spewing out excuses.

“Well maybe if punz played a better reyna!” he unmuted himself in the vc just so his friend could hear his complaint. I pulled out the extra office chair and listened as the too bickered back and forth.

“You guys sound like an old married couple.” I laughed as punz suggested that sapnap play reyna instead this time.

“yeah punz when’s our wedding again?” he said as he closed out of the game and leaned back in his chair. I could hear an unenthusiastic laugh come from the headphones.

“Sorry man I’m gonna go now, have fun deranking for the rest of the night.” before punz could retaliate sapnap left the call and turned his attention back to me.

“Are you ok?” he asked, his demeanor going soft as he grabbed my hands and rested them in my lap.

“No I’m actually quite traumatized, I just watched my parents fight for ten minutes straight.” I let go of his hands and got up to leave the room. “I’m gonna need a lot of therapy after that.”

He laughed at the joke which put me at ease for a second until he got up and followed me to our shared bedroom. “Very funny, but i’m talking about your eyes.” he said plopping down on the bed as I followed suit. I guess I didn’t realize that sobbing in my car for twenty minutes would probably still look evident on my face long after. It wasn’t a question, so I decided to ignore it. I got myself in a comfy position on the bed and pulled out my phone.

“Were you crying?” he asked. There wasn’t really much I could do to deflect this situation. He could absolutely tell that I had been crying and it’s not that I was scared to tell him I just didn’t want to worry him. He sighed next to me as I fiddled with my fingers, glancing up at his face for just a moment. I couldn’t tell if he was mad, upset, or confused. Whatever it was he didn’t look very happy with me.

I sat up in the bed and took a deep breath. Just as I was about to start speaking, a pair of warm arms wrapped around my torso, tugging me into their grasp. Sapnap pulled me into his lap and tightened his grip on my waist, placing my head gently in the crook of his neck.

It took me a moment to process what had just happened. Throughout our relationship I haven’t really been very open about my emotional state, so this isn’t exactly something that he’s done to me before. I let myself melt in his lap. His warmth wrapping around me and the smell of his cologne reminding me of exactly whose loving arms i’m being engulfed in.

We sat there for a few minutes before my heart started to pound. The butterflies in my stomach felt like cutting knives and my eyes started to water. There was such an overwhelming abundance of emotion that I just couldn’t handle. A small sob slipped past my lips and Sapnap’s arms pulled me in even tighter than before. After that I didn’t care, sobs pouring out of me just as they did not long ago. He shifted us so that we were laying down. His body still wrapped around mine as I sobbed into his chest, the sound of the rain and whispers of sweet nothings lulling me to sleep.

I woke up the next morning still wrapped in my boyfriends grasp. The sun was out though, and Sapnap’s soft snores made those butterflies make a reappearance. I felt better, so much better. In my recollection of last night, I can’t remember any words being spoken between me and him. And I don’t think there needs to be.

I think part of the reason that there’s such a dissonance between what kind of character Matthew is ~supposed~ to have and what kind of poor traits shine through, especially in his treatment of Alastair, is not just because of CC’s poor handling of alcoholism (and, in my opinion, mental health issues and depression) but also because: Our first introduction to these characters happened a long ways before some major changes to TLH.

Namely… Alastair and Cordelia were basically white in CC’s original planning. There’s just no way around that. Their flower cards, where they’re not just whitewashed but purely white, prove that (and they STILL haven’t been updated, by the way.)

Also, Alastair’s hair: in CoG it was dyed blond, and CC wrote it off implicitly as a racism thing when she decided he was Persian (which I guess happened after the short story where we met Alastair and before TLH) , which would have been fine it if it was an arc written better. Except, I don’t think she realized that it would make Matthew’s comments about Alastair inherently and obviously racist, being a white author. And I doubt that it will be dealt with and named or even acknowledged outright in the final TLH installment.

Kind of the same thing with Cordelia. I’m not saying POC can’t have like red hair because obviously POC don’t come in a prepackaged set of five or six traits that are all configured randomly, but something has always rubbed me the wrong way about the way that CC writes the majority of her POC and especially WOC as exotic. I mean, Kamala as a character is to me a special favorite (even though CC did her dirty and didn’t do a good job portraying her character or intersectional identity) but I rolled my eyes so hard when she had lighter brown or “amber” eyes in canon or officially commissioned art. With Cordelia, I know CC once said she uses henna to redden her hair which is great for her, and I guess I have less of a bone to pick with that because it’s semi(?) realistic, but still. Also the fact that so much of her description as a beautiful person comes from her hair. Again that’s cool, and women of color should be loved wholly including being loved for the parts of them that they freely change (such as Cordelia’s hair) but… the proportion of the fixation on her hair as what makes her lovely rubs me the wrong way sometimes. I feel like it’s sometimes an out from CC making the ~scandalous~ decision that a woman of color can be beautiful because of the traits she is born with. Idk it’s just for me I had this long standing repulsion towards my colorings and my facial structure and white girls would tell me I was whiny about it and then I finally began to piece together things like “Eurocentric beauty standards.”

Going on a tangent slightly, but something else that bothered me was when Anna insulted Cordelia after buying her those dresses and everyone kinda treating it as a compliment? And just cause Cordelia, a fictional teenager, didn’t get mad about it doesn’t mean readers of color can’t see the underlying racism behind “Cordelia looks MUCH better in these dresses which are SUITED for her skin tone.”

I think that narrative could have been handled much better: if it was Cordelia picking out her own clothes as an act of maturity and self-realization and ownership, if Cordelia herself said (in a different way lol) “Damn right I can wear lavender ruffles if I want to and crimp my hair but I’m not going to let white fashion prevent me from outshining everyone because dark skinned women INVENTED jewel tones.” And I think some people will argue that Cordelia’s context makes this too self aware of a development but I would say that it would have been a powerful part of her development outside of her relationships, especially considering that she’s supposed to be a main protagonist. Full arcs for the win baby!

But even aside from all that what bothered me about Anna’s dresses was the fact that it was a white woman showing the “truth” or the “right way” or “saving” a woman of color, a trope which I don’t think CC intended but committed nonetheless. I think from a white author POV the thinking was “Anna is such a free bohemian who lives true to herself and she’s going to help Cordelia become that way too,” which irks me because I feel like that just worked against CC in terms of POC rep and also because that same ideology is used in an attempt to make Anna’s treatment of Kamala justified even though Anna as an out person, with racial and economic privilege and the support of an extensive and powerful family network, pressured and tormented Kamala into coming out.

I have a lot of thoughts on that relationship, mainly: it shouldn’t have been dragged out this long because from the beginning, Every Exquisite Thing, it was clear they were looking for different things. And if CC had left it at that and let them go on their separate ways after a week of knowing each other that would have been fine: Kamala can’t do an out and proud relationship and Anna doesn’t want secrecy, so they’ll develop on their own. And then later Kamala’s pursuit of Anna in the actual TLH books was I think meant to be a thing about “the lengths you’ll go for true love” but it felt forced. Honestly… It just feels icky. like this woman of color is just so hung up on this white woman who abuses her repeatedly and can’t handle her own misogyny and internalizations. And I hate that because both had such awesome potential! To me it’s less that I dislike Anna ( I’d need a whole other post to explain that) and more that I dislike CC for wanting so bad to claim sapphic rep but not wanting to put in the effort to portray it effectively- and pretty much all that entails is writing the relationship without acting like it exists in a pseudo-vacuum where the history and realities of interracial relationships and queerphobia don’t exist in the way we obviously recognize and experience.

And characters like Cordelia and Alastair are amazing and have so much potential; I think the true origin of the problems with their portrayal is that they weren’t really intended as POC or even queer representation in the first place. I don’t know if Cassie would have taken a different approach to her characterization had she known Alastair would be a brown gay man when she first introduced him, but I hope it would have at least made her more conscientious of the inherent application of colonialism and racism in her storytelling from that point onward.

I want to finally add that I’m not saying any portrayal of racism is bad. I’m saying that the racism in the story is not part of a conscious framework that critiques racism appropriately. I think CC wrote the beginnings of the narrative, decided she was going to develop the diversity point content, and then either didn’t look back at the older content to analyze it and the other (white characters) through a new lens of race and outsiderness and queer personhood, or she looked at it and didn’t know what to do with it, or looked at it and didn’t care.

I feel like CC handled everything poorly in regards to characters who had a lot of potential.

The fact that Cordelia and Alastair are both originally white and it's so obvious in the way every bit of racism is handled by the characters. Matthew's comments in CLS are very important and they should've been handled with the same severity that Alastair's words were. CC changing the characters to POC was a big decision and when she did so she should've went back and actually read her own material. I can assure you that it will not be handled in CHOT, my expectations for CC recognizing the importance and gravity in the words she writes regarding racism or any of her "implied racism" bullshit have gone to the ground.

Because while golden eyes are obviously so easy to write when discussing discrimination obviously racism is out of the question /j

THAT'S EXACTLY IT, women of color in these books are so pathetically rare that on the rare occurrence that she does write them they should all be given these features that aren't as common in POC and written as more beautiful because of those features. I read CHOG after I became more appreciative of my ethnic features but if I had read this a year or so ago? Or even if I had read it after just feeling insecure in general? It would've been awful. The implication is that the lighter features in POC are the most beautiful, with Cordelia's red hair being put on a higher pedestal than her dark eyes and Kamala's eyes being focused on more than her hair (because I literally went back and counted the numbers to prove it and it's exactly what happens.)

I'm sure Cordelia's hair is stunning, but it's the way that when she's described (or more accurately being sexualized) it is just her hair and body that is shown, not the color of her skin or the color of her eyes.

God the pastel thing pisses me off so much. It's not even that Anna tells Cordelia that she would look better in darker colors it's that she says it suits her skin tone. Implying that anyone with brown skin should be barred from wearing pastels. And Kamala? In the few times she is described, she's wearing dark colors or champagne gold, never light blue or purple or pink WHICH HONESTLY SUITS HER PERSONALITY. It's also the way that the dresses Anna sent her are described to be more revealing- it's weird. Anna barely knew her when she started dictating everything that Cordelia could put on her body.

I literally would have loved that. It recognizes that she doesn't need to follow these "rules" on what to wear but still shows her choosing what she wants to wear without making all the darker skinned readers feel like they can't wear a certain color.

I think what some people fail to realize is that these books are also aimed at upper elementary and middle school and a middle schooler with dark skin reading something like that? In a book with characters they love? It's going to be so harmful

Someone else mentioned that CC said Kamanna's relationship was complicated because Kamala didn't defend Anna: Defend her FROM WHAT? Literally what is there to threaten Anna?

These books are filled with tokenism and then praised for it. The idea of Kamala X Anna has so much potential but they're portrayed in such a toxic way. Throughout the last through books Kamala puts herself through so much guilt and regret and turmoil just for Anna to literally use her, blame her, and cast her aside. And it's so fucking annoying because it pushes this idea that this woman of color who was terrified and in an extremely vulnerable position is in the wrong for choosing her safety and presents them as guilty and shameful for doing such a thing.

I would disagree, the portrayal of racism is bad, because it is used at random points in the story and never brought up again, if you interduce racism take it seriously it's not the kind of thing you're meant to half-ass in a book thousands of people will read

I agree on everything else though, so much of these books are incredibly harmful and they are presented to a young audience so it's overall just a gross situation

I do wonder how in character cc!Tommy is going to be able to stay during this stream: on one hand he’s a master at staying in character even during lh moments, and on the other Exile arc is some Dark Shit and Dristas like what, 14?? Overall I expect this to be one of the lighter streams, with a smattering of moments where we remember that, oh right, Tommy’s pretty actively suicidal at this point and he sees this as one of his last hurrahs.

Speaking of our boy Tommy: it's very clear we are getting closer and closer to the infamous pillar. He switches rapidly between Fight and Fawn reflexes and has mostly internalized Dream’s treatment and conditions at this point. The one stand out moment being him calling out Dream killing Mexican Dream last stream, and pointing out he was changing his story even when Dream tried to lie and say he died of “a drug overdose [...] or natural causes”. I’m curious if Tommy is going to bring it up again, and even more curious if he eventually believes Dream about it; something to watch out for, for sure. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this moment of rebellion happened right after he had someone both stand up for him and spend time with him that wasn’t actively hostile or going to end (supposedly, at least by intention)

Yes, actually I do have some news on my project that I do want to share....

Originally, I was going to post a Descendants pack with Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay's main promotional outfits for each of the three films. I had the original day set to May 28 because that would have been Cameron Boyce's birthday and I thought it might be a nice way to honor his memory, I thought the storyline for Descendants was really cool and besides I thought it might be lots of fun to explore with the styles and designs, cause some of the outfits looked really neat and I thought it would be something I'd like to try out.

I'm still going to release this project, because I did promise it and it would be wrong and irresponsible of me to not follow through with that, but I'm going to have to downsize it to just the main outfits from the first movie because while I tried, I was not finding myself enjoying creating the outfits as much as I thought I would, and the quality was not where I would have liked it to be, which I think was partially fueled by me not being as into the project as I thought I would be.

This isn't to say that I couldn't do Descendants 2 or 3 content in the future, I'm just going to have to do Descendants 2 or 3 later, and any future Descendants cc would likely be the ballgowns and suits that are worn, because I could still make cc related to the franchise while working with a style that better suits my strengths in cc making, and I can really see myself enjoying making the gowns. (Uma's gown from Descendants 2 was to die for, for example, and I love Evie's one-shoulder glittering blue gown; it was so elegant)

I'm sorry if I disappointed you guys, I understand if any of you are mad at me, I think I bit off a little more than I could chew with the project that I attempted, and it was definitely impulsive and irresponsible as I was experimenting with a new style and didn't try it out first to make sure I liked creating cc in said style before promising a whole project based around it. However, I would rather be honest about the status of the project and why I think I need to make changes to it than keep you guys wondering what's going on for an extremely long time, only to turn up with cc that it was clear I wasn't too passionate about.

I hope y'all understand, but again, I will completely understand if I have upset you: Once again, I promise I will still release the four outfits from Descendants 1, and I will be more responsible about the projects I decide to pursue/promise in the future.

Unpopular opinion: im so done with game of thrones tbh. It's not even good anymore :/ I liked the first season but since then i've skipped through episodes because they are just sooo fucking boring and dragged out!

see like the first three seasons were pretty good because they stayed true to the books. (actually that’s a lie, littlefinger’s chaos speech in the s3 finale was real fuckin bad because guess what: it was original material LMAO) the fourth season was where it started to get messy and then the fifth season was a fucking shitshow because they completely IGNORED the fourth book and cherrypicked all the “good” parts out of it (read: the most action-y parts, while ignoring all the most important pieces of character development) and they botched the dorne storyline, oh and who could forget the iconic moment of throwing in a rape (THAT DIDN’T HAPPEN IN THE BOOKS) just for fun :) love it! but anyway if you think the show is boring i probably wouldn’t recommend the books, they’re even slower getting through them lmao. but it’s worth it in my opinion. there’s so much they don’t include in the show and it makes me Angery

ooooh ok. usually there are shops like those in cities or even in towns with like kitschy little promenades with independent shops. (i know there’s one around the town over from mine, which is so random lmao) i do have friends that have crystals but i think they mostly just collect them for the ~good vibez~ and don’t really look too far into the healing aspects of them. i would say first go with the one that coincides with your birth because those are the ones that are like specifically catered to you and strengthen your being. as for buying online, hmmmmm i mean i don’t really know any specific trustworthy sellers because i don’t have much experience with this, but definitely read the reviews! those will help you a lot <3

i honestly didn’t do much of anything that differs from my usual editing process! i made her eyes a bit bigger by using the clone tool, cloning the top of her eye and applying it a little bit farther up...if that makes sense. it’s hard to explain how to use that tool lmao. and i think i used the liquify tool to bring part of her eyebrow down to look more worried.
