A/N: I need more Rhea fics in my life 😩 I’m using fanfiction to cope with my real life feelings so I need as much as possible 😅

Pairing: Rhea Ripley x Reader

Warnings: cheating (with Rhea), verbal abuse (from shitbag boyfriend), semi-public smut, oral (reader receiving), fingering, swearing, mentions of relationship issues

“Oh, please please please! I need your help!” You begged. Rhea looked at you with an annoyed expression.

“I don’t understand why you need my help for that,” she sighed.

“Because I need someone else’s opinion on whether I look good or not,” you said.

She wanted to tell you that you always look beautiful and no one else compared to you. She wanted to tell you that your no-good, sleazy boyfriend didn’t deserve you and the effort you put into the relationship. She wanted to tell you to choose her instead— but she just settled for “fine.”

“Thank you!” You yelled, jumping into her arms. She knew she was going to come to regret her decision, but your puppy dog eyes were no match for her.

You drove the two of you to the mall and headed straight to your destination.

You grabbed a few pairs of lingerie while Rhea did her best to look uninterested.

“What about this?” You asked, holding up a pink babydoll. The look on her face said enough. “No then, got it.”

“You so owe me for this,” she whined as you continued to browse.

“I definitely do! Whatever you want, just name it,” you said with a smile.

I just want you, was the first thought that popped into her mind.

“I’ll think about it,” she mumbled. “I think you have enough, now can we go?”

“I haven’t even tried them on yet!”

Her heart dropped into her stomach.

“Try them on? You didn’t say anything about that,” she said nervously.

“Well duh, that’s what I need you for; to tell me if I look good in them,” you said nonchalantly. Rhea felt like she was going to die. “Sit right here and I’ll be back.”

You sat her down in the back where the dressing rooms were and took your finds into the little room.

The first piece you tried on was red and left little to the imagination. You stepped out confidently and held your arms out.

“Well?”

Rhea’s mouth went dry at the sight (something else was definitely wet though).

“It’s lovely,” she nodded, not able to take her eyes off of the floor in front of her.

“You aren’t even looking!” You whined. Rhea forced herself to look up and play cool.

“It’s really great, sweetheart,” she said.

“I think I like it, but I still wanna try on the other ones,” you said as you went back into the room.

The next one was a white one-piece and much simpler than the first one.

“It’s cute,” Rhea chuckled.

“Cute? I’m not going for cute!” You scoffed.

“What are you going for exactly?” She asked.

“Fuck me.”

“What?” Rhea asked in a panic.

“I’m going for ‘fuck me’ vibes,” you said simply.

“Oh, yeah. I knew what you meant,” she said. “I still don’t get why you’re doing all this. He’s lucky to even be with you.”

“I know, it’s just…things have been different lately and we haven’t done…anything in a while. I figure maybe I just need to spice things up,” you admitted.

Rhea couldn’t believe her ears. How could someone have you and not want to worship you every second of the day? Before Rhea could say anything, you continued.

“And I know what you’re probably thinking-“ she doubted it- “he’s probably getting it somewhere else but I really don’t think he’d do that, right? Maybe he’s just gotten a little bored with me so I figured maybe this would help.”

Rhea couldn’t help but feel sad at the pain in your voice. If Rhea didn’t hate your boyfriend before, she certainly did now.

“I can guarantee it doesn’t have anything to do with you. If he doesn’t see how lucky he is then he’s an idiot. You don’t have to try and do something extra just to get his attention. You’re beautiful even when you’re in sweats and no makeup.”

“Thank you,” you said with a shy smile. “I have one more I want to try on and then we can go grab lunch, okay?”

“Sounds good, gorgeous,” she said. You went back in to try on your last piece. It was black lace with purple detailing.

You stepped out and Rhea was convinced she had died and gone to heaven. She stood up and circled you, taking in every inch.

“Now this, this is a winner,” she said, playing with the strap on your shoulder. A shiver went down your spine and you took a shaky breath. The way she was looking at you looked like she could eat you right then and there.

“You think so?” You whispered.

“I know so, but I do think it would look better on the floor,” she said, leaning in closer. “How about we find out?”

You should’ve been embarrassed at how fast you nodded. She pulled you into the changing room and locked the door behind you. She was so furious at your boyfriend for making you feel less than, she was determined to worship you exactly how you deserved.

She began to kiss your neck, her hands groping your ass. She finally pulled you in for a kiss and everything seemed to click. Years of friendship melted into more and it just felt right.

She slipped her tongue into your mouth and easily won dominance over yours. She began pulling at the straps of the lingerie and you let her strip it off of you. You tried to pull her belt off but she stopped you.

“This is about you, gorgeous. There’ll be plenty of time for that later,” she chuckled.

She sat you down on the little bench and knelt in front of you. She kissed up your leg and nipped at you thighs before diving into your center. Her tongue worked wonders on your clit. You were extra sensitive, not having been touched in so long.

She lowered her head back down and began to suck on your clit. You pressed answer and took a breath to compose yourself.

“Hello?”

“Where the hell are you? You were supposed to pick up my dry cleaning and bring it to the office half an hour ago!” Your boyfriend yelled on the other line.

“Shit,” you sighed, Rhea speeding up her actions. “Um, yeah sorry, I forgot.”

“Well get them here asap!”

“I’m busy right now,” you told him.

“I don’t give a shit, bitch,” he snapped. Rhea’s eyes lit up with fury as she pulled away. You began to panic, worried she’d take the phone.

“Go get them yourself, asshole,” you quickly said. Everyone froze.

“What did you just say to me?” He asked, venom in his tone.

“You heard me. We’re done. Now leave me alone, I said I’m busy,” you said before hanging up the phone. You tossed it to the side, not caring where it lands. Rhea looked up at you with a shocked expression.

“I think that deserves a reward,” she chuckled before diving back in. She slid two fingers back into you and thrusted them, circling your clit with her tongue ring. You were getting closer and she could tell. She focused on stimulating your clit, finally pushing you over the edge. You bit onto your fist to keep from screaming out. She slowed down as you came down from your high and finally pulled her fingers from you and licking them clean.

“Hm I like the sound of that,” she smirked. She grabbed your hand and pulled you from the dressing room.

The smile on your face never left for the rest of the day. Rhea ended up accompanying you home and you spent the rest of the day making up for lost time.

Hi! First of all, I love ur blog it’s one of my favourites and I really appreciate your nuanced takes and the research you put in to your answers. :)

I wanted to ask you — I read today that EPE didn’t allow Sofia Coppola to use any of Elvis’ music in her movie. I figured he wouldn’t be depicted very positively in it but I kinda hoped it would be a realistic and human depiction of both of them, not like sort of a condemning ‘he’s the villain of their story’ vibe lol. I guess we still won’t know until it comes out… Anyway it got me feeling like perhaps the depiction will be more negative, but maybe EPE just didn’t consent to his music being used because they weren’t included in the movie. Hard to know. Wanted to ask for your thoughts/take on it.

Also, what do you think Lisa would think about this movie being made?

as for your question, according to the latest interview with Sofia Coppola and Priscilla Presley, it was “Authentic Brands Group” (who owns 85% of EPE) that denied the request to have Elvis’ music featured in the film. As Sofia tells it, it was because ABG only endorse projects that they have originated as they are protective of their brand ⬇️

so I don’t think Elvis’ music not being in the film is indicative of how he will be portrayed, the decision seems more business based than anything else (hopefully 😭). I’m also wondering if this was a funding issue as this film doesn’t seem to have had the biggest budget (they only had 30 days to shoot) and I would assume the rights to use Elvis’ music would be rather costly 👀

as for how Elvis will be depicted… I think I speak for many other fans when I say when this movie was first announced my heart sank 🤧 the 2022 film accomplished so many amazing things for Elvis and his legacy and I think we all felt like this Priscilla movie would jeopardize that. But this recent interview with Priscilla, along with the film’s official synopsis, has given me more hope that this movie will be more nuanced

Priscilla telling Cailee Spaeny, the actress portraying her, to be sensitive towards Elvis honestly made me breathe a sigh of relief 😩

if you have Instagram or Twitter (especially) you know what I mean 😭

people are literally praising Sofia Coppola (even Priscilla) because they think this film is going to be a hit piece against Elvis and will expose how he “groomed” and “abused” her

I can almost guarantee these people and anyone else who have made similar comments have never even read Priscilla’s book, or have ever read about Elvis besides what they see on social media through things like twitter threads on how he was a “predator” or how he “stole” music from black musicians

their dedication to believing whatever they see written about him just proves their ignorance to me. If they haven’t taken the time to research the claims made about him then I just disregard their opinion🤧 I’ve really struggled with disengaging from people who hate Elvis but I’ve begun to learn that nothing we say as fans will change their opinion of him, and no matter what they say, it cannot change who we know he really was

and whenever I do see these people reference Priscilla’s book I’m like… did we read the same book? did y’all not see how 90-95% percent of that book praised who Elvis was? and do y’all not see how Priscilla still defends his actions to this day and says things like “he was the love of my life”? I’m just confused as to why these people think Priscilla wants Elvis to be “exposed” 😭

and like the majority of people who have written about Elvis, Priscilla’s book has the good, the bad, and the ugly, and I expect the film to be that way as well. However, I hope the good completely outweighs “the bad” and “the ugly” just as much as it did in Priscilla’s book

People always hyper-inflate the “bad” stories (of which there are very few) that are mentioned in Priscilla’s book. For example the story where when they were pillow fighting he accidentally gave her a black eye, which is also referenced now as proof that he “abused” her. But they won’t mention how Elvis profusely apologized and felt incredibly guilty, nor do they mention how Priscilla blamed the pills they were taking for Elvis’ temper in that moment, as opposed to Elvis himself

I feel like a lot of anger has been misdirected towards Priscilla lately regarding stories like this but in all honesty you cannot blame her for people taking what she wrote out of context. I’ve seen some fans say that she is only out to make Elvis look bad but she very clearly states he was remorseful for the incident

Like I mentioned above, I think 90-95% of her book puts Elvis in a good light, and shows how truly good his character was

One of my personal favorite stories is the lasagna incident, where Priscilla insisted on cooking for the whole group and in her nerves for proving that she could do such a thing, she forgot to boil the noodles before assembling the dish 💀

and this story is just one out of dozens that show how sensitive Elvis was to Priscilla

not to mention the very last paragraph of her book where she has nothing but good things to say about him… yet people who hate Elvis think this film, that is based on her book, will be out to “expose” him 😩?

obviously we can only really speculate on what the film will be like but I’m just hoping and praying this film will be a massive disappointment to anyone who is thinking it will affirm their opinions about how Elvis “mistreated” Priscilla… that would heal my soul 😩 like if this film is just a total love letter to Elvis I will be laughing my way out of the theater lmaoo

at this point the only reason I’m not excited about this film is just because I don’t think it was done in a way that would reach it’s full potential. That recent review of it that came out of Reddit was kind of what I expected the film to be (lackluster, lacking depth and Jacob not really capturing Elvis’ essence… Coppola’s reasoning for casting Jacob was that since all the females in the audition room were enamored by him he must have had a similar charisma to Elvis but I just do not get that vibe😭 (no offense to Jacob stans)

as for what Lisa Marie would have thought of this film being made, I’d imagine she would act in a similar way to how Riley is. Supportive but not involved perhaps? This film is really Priscilla’s story. Not Elvis’ story, not Lisa Marie’s story etc. etc. so I don’t expect as many people in the Elvis world to be involved with it as they were with the 2022 film. Like I don’t expect to see Jerry Schilling doing interviews for this movie or girlfriend’s/friends of Elvis to give their review of it

I really really wish Lisa Marie was here, I miss her terribly and I still haven’t fully processed her passing, but I believe that Riley is doing everything her mother would have wanted, and I wish the best for her and her sisters 💗

when you two pulled into the school parking lot you jumped out of the car excited to bug eddie, so you grab chrissy by the arm and drag her into the cafeteria where he usually sat with hellfire before classes started. eddie was there with hellfire, but there was a girl who sat to his left, laughing. in the spot you usually sat in. you look over at chrissy, "who's that?" jealousy blooming through your veins, you shouldn't be jealous because you and eddie were just friends. but you've had feelings for him ever since last year, and this girl was a complete match for him. black sabbath t-shirt and tattoos.

"uhh i dont know, maybe she's new."

you both walk over to the table "hey eds!" you sit in the chair on his right.

"hey y/n! this is adelaide!" eddie introduces you to the girl and she puts her hand out which you reluctantly shake,

"hey adelaide." you grit out, and you notice the venom in your words was noticeable as the girl and everyone else's faces drop.

"you alright?" chrissy asks,

you turn to her and form a tight lipped smile, "mhm," you hum, "i'm good. golden!" your jaw clenches in jealously, this goes unnoticed by you but chrissy notices and grabs your arm muttering a quick ‘excuse us for a second’ pulling you aside,

“what’s up?” she asks,

“what?”

“you look like you’re going to jump across eddie and murder adelaide, what’s wrong?”

“nothing.” you grit out,

chrissy quirks and eyebrow at you, you’re a bad liar.

“i’m just jealous.” you mumble,

“y/n, eddie just met adelaide you don’t need to worry about her, i guarantee she’s nothing to worry about.” she tries to soothe, which makes you feel a little bit better. eddie just met this girl so there was really no reason to be so jealous.

“yeah okay.”

you went back to the table and conversation flew by and it was time to get to first period, which went with you eyeing eddie down the whole time. which led to the predicament you got yourself into in 4th period, he grabbed your arm and dragged you to the janitors closet,

“what the hell is your problem y/n?”

“excuse me?” you say taken aback, what was your problem? “eddie you were practically making heart eyes towards that new adelaide chick at breakfast today!”

his mouth adopts a bit of a smirk, “okay? why do you care?”

“don’t fucking smirk at me like that!” god he was so hot annoying, “i don’t care eddie,” lie. i really don’t i just-it’s just you can’t-“ you start stammering trying to find a valid reason to be so upset with him,

“if you can’t find the reason you’re pissed at me and tell me by the end of today i’m not coming to movie night.” he says sternly, well that was one way for you to find the courage to tell him what was wrong. he storms out of the closet leaving you alone.

I’m getting fatter, I gained like 8/9 kg since January, I don’t know what to do, if I have to stop or keep gaining, because summer is coming so I don’t know how I’ll look like in a swimming suit, btw I’m hungry all the day😩😩

Gaining 8/9 kg in just a few months is quite the accomplishment! You should be proud of yourself for being able to indulge and give into your cravings like that. You must have been eating a lot to make such progress.

As for what to do next, well, my advice is simple: keep going. Don't worry about how you'll look in a swimsuit this summer. I guarantee you'll look amazing, no matter what. And besides, there's nothing sexier than a body that's soft and well-fed.

And it's no surprise that you're hungry all day long - your body is craving more of what you've been feeding it! Maybe it's time to stop fighting it and just give in to your appetite. After all, it's clear that your body wants more, so why not give it what it craves? Keep it up, and who knows, maybe you'll be even bigger by the time summer rolls around.

hey I'm just loving the story so so much and that scene with Yvette was *chefs kiss*...sorry this will probably be a long rant its just the things you've made me feel 😩😔...if I could read the entire story right now I'd sell a kidney 😂

I'm hoping we can have more conversations with Yvette like we did to really dive into her character, thoughts and feelings especially towards our MC...I usually have a hard time with her character because it always seems like she doesn't really regret what she did as much and seems more like she's approached MC and doing what she's doing mostly, if not solely, because she feels cornered and not as someone that also regrets their decisions and wishes to repair the relationship they DONT have with their child...I know she can feel both those and they can be her motivations, but it just feels like she's driven by the former and not the latter..so I'm looking forward to our interactions with her and if there will be options to let MCs frustrations, sadness, anger and longing bare before her I will...I'd be open to making amends but she has to know and feel everything her absence put MC through and my MC needs to see her genuinely, proactively and consistently care for them before they consider thinking of them as their mother again, nobody can top papa Vic 😂 he set the damn bar too high but if she can put half as much effort hey then we're getting somewhere...

And i have to say, your characters as well are so well written and realistic and raw that I get so engrossed in every little thing they do and I can't help but feel that they're real people with real scars, issues, hopes, dreams, problems and aspirations and relate with them...because I understand Yvettes thought process its like 'I've come too far to look back now' and she feels like she can't let go of everything she built because it would sort of make all her sacrifices meaningless or she may feel she doesn't deserve too and I think she did mention something like that but I wonder if she knows that hurts my MC more 😭😭

Anyway for an ask i wondering what Yvettes fears and or regrets are 'if they're not spoiler' are towards MC and the relationship between the both of them especially because Yvette is asking them to hunt the man that killed her former lover and father of her child 😅...especially if its a vengeful 'I WILL STOP YOU EVEN IF IT KILLS ME' MC...do they fear losing MC like they did Victor or has that not crossed their mind

So, about Yvette, yes, MC will have an optional chance to do a little hang out session with Yvette in the future where they’ll be able to have another conversation with her ☺️

Also, I love how readers interpret the talk with Yvette a little bit differently from each other. Some readily accept her apology and see it as sincere regret, while some, like you, are more skeptical and don’t readily forgive her right away.

Right now, I planned to let those that don’t forgive her the first time to change their mind in the future if they want to. It’s not 100% guaranteed as all plans are subjects to change constantly , but I’d really love to include that.

As for your question, I’m actually not really sure what Yvette’s fears are in the context of her relationship with MC other than messing up her second chance if MC decides to forgive her and MC dying 🥺 She doesn’t really fear MC hating her per se, because it is what she has been believing and expected all these years.

And yes, the thought of losing MC has crossed her mind before, and you can actually see that in the Luka and Yvette Funeral Talk Side Story in case you haven’t checked it out. She would be devastated if MC died, she doesn’t want that. When she came to ask for MC’s help, she just expected MC to talk with Luka or Grandpa and basically just be on standby to help with sharing information about the underworld that’s needed and connecting the group to the Morozovs’ resources and connections, instead of MC actively participating and hunting down the killer 😔

- when You and Bill are mad at eachother, y’all have these passive aggressive type arguments that could last for dayssss (y’all always make up tho! or just finally come to an ‘agree to disagree’ type thing)

- correct me if i’m wrong, but I feel like you AND bills “social battery” can drain out real quick and sometimes you guys can just give eachother ‘that look’ and know that it’s time to go home, ( y’all do better together when y’all are alone compared to big crowds)

- When it comes to doing those true crime mystery cases with bill, he’s not the best at them and detecting definitely isn’t his forte but he loves seeing you get so into them and honestly is just happy to be there 🤣

Here I go ranting again- but I know y’all like the chisme comadres 😩

It’s funny to me that I met my bf through Facebook and he was the one who sent me a friend request and was the first to hit me up. And we talked for two weeks until he asked me if he could come see me up in Dallas, he lived in the Houston area.

At first I was hesitant cuz I was like what if he’s a serial killer 😭

But anyway I told him that if he wanted to date me he would have to move to Dallas cuz I don’t do long distance and he said okay. We didn’t even know each other very long but we started dating a month later and moved in together.

And as time went on together we became so in sync that we would have the same thoughts or sing songs out loud and one of us would be like I had that stuck in my head. Just like telepathic twin shit. My parents even started calling us ‘the twins’ and strangers would ask if he was my brother because we apparently looked alike.

So it does hurt my feelings that he’s apparently tired of always hanging out with me because I’m not. Like honestly don’t like being away from him long.

But trust our relationship isn’t perfect just like everyone we have problems. But I feel like I’m drowning.

Like asshole you came to me! You sent that request! You wanted to move to be with me! So wtf. You chased after me and now you’re feeling some type of way? Nahhhh. But besties I also have toxic tendencies.

I think about what if we give it a break? What if we just agree to break up and if things are right we can try again? But the thing is I know that’s not Guaranteed, he could move on, or I could.

But he’s my best friend and soulmate. I’ve never connected with someone they way we do. And he even says that.

Acting Coach Anon here: how are you?

I love that you are into WoSo as well, I’m in LA and have the season ticket for ACFC, and I may start soon to work with something related to it. 😏

You know that I don’t even have the energy or interest in watching S19 any longer, not even the trailer, last season destroyed me, there’s no recovery from it imo, they reached the point of no return under many different aspects of production (and reading the comments of fans it’s enough to get an idea about what’s going on). 😒

The writing is obviously bias, repetitive, inconsistent, boring and hurtful towards all women characters. 😩

The BTS drama. 🙄

Clearly the budget was cut and that hurt many possibilities of storytelling and character development. ☹️

The casting and acting is subpar, only a few are all right.

If I were Danielle of Stefania I will get the fuck out of there ASAP, the problem in Hollywood right now is that no job is safe or guaranteed, so I do understand why they stick with it, especially for Stefania, it’s no easy for her to get roles being Italian and all, a part should be purposely written for her (or with an Italian woman in mind) and that’s hard to find.

Danielle may have more chances to land another TV role in the next 5 years Barrett and Boris the same but the rest of the cast I think it’s more likely to get some guest role or recurring character part.

Overall S19 wasted a lot of talent sad sad sad

Acting coach anon!!! It's so good to hear from you, I was just thinking about you recently as the show gets close to coming back, wondering how you were doing so I'm so glad you checked in! I'm doing good and I hope you are as well!

That's amazing that you have a season ticket to Angel City games! I really hope you're able to get some work related to the organization, that would be great! It would be incredible for the team and club if they're able to make the playoffs in their first year so I'm rooting for them to do it. Especially since Gotham is terrible lol

I don't blame you for not having the energy or patience to even watch S19 anymore. I think I just am still too attached to Marina so I'm still going to give it a go, but I don't expect to be pleased with anything this season unfortunately, especially after last. It's really a shame how much they've destroyed the characters and just the show in general and some of the decisions they've made due to outer factors (like BTS stuff) is just unfortunate.

I wish Danielle & Stefania could get out of there because they both deserve better and it would be ideal if we could see them together on another show because their chemistry is unmatched but of course that's unrealistic. I really hope they'll both continue on to be successful though because they deserve it. You're probably right that it will be easier for Danielle than Stefania though. I just will never understand how a show sees their chemistry and talent and decides to ruin it by inserting a man with less talent or just trying to dull it by pushing it to the side. It's wild to me.

When Hongjoong, San and Mingi arrived to the airport, they were surprised to see Wooyoung there, standing outside, smoking a cigarette, with his sunglasses on, looking as handsome as ever. He ran his free hand over his hair, smoothing it a little. When he saw his friends, he lightly scoffed and waved at them.

“Finally, I was thinking you wouldn’t show up,” he rolled his eyes which the others couldn’t see because of his sunglasses. “Let’s go.”

“You still decided to come?” Hongjoong questioned.

“Couldn’t miss a trip,” Wooyoung let out a fake laugh. “If you’re thinking about our summer fight, don’t worry, I forgive you.”

“You forgive us?” San asked disbelievingly, stressing the words ‘you’ and ‘us’ to make a point. It wasn’t Wooyoung who needed to forgive them, but the other way around.

“Yes, yes, I know I’m so kind-hearted and everything but if we don’t go now, we could miss our flight,” Wooyoung answered, throwing away the cigarette and entering the airport building, dragging his suitcase behind him.

His friends followed him quietly, deciding to drop the previously discussed topic in order not to ruin their trip and kill the mood. They all wanted to have a great time and they realized more fighting could only guarantee the opposite. They intended to at least pretend everything was okay; fake it till you make it, that’s what they were thinking. Besides, it was the first time they've seen Wooyoung in months since he was in his home town during summer break, actively avoiding all his friends. His last conversation was with San, the day after Mingi's birthday, through text messages, and it didn't go quite well. Even though Wooyoung was moody and immature, at least he was not avoiding them anymore. They finally had the chance to make things right and they weren't gonna blow it. None of them was even hoping to receive an apology from Wooyoung; he probably had no idea he has done anything wrong. That's why they intended to forgive and forget, even though they knew that way nothing was gonna change. But they needed at least a few days of simplicity and calmness; it would be great to forget about all their problems, go to the Halloween party and have fun. That's what they came for, after all.

Minutes before they take off, San took his phone out and texted Ara to let her know he was on the plane with his friends. She texted him to stay safe and he smiled, putting his phone away.

Since the flight was around 11 hours, San and the others had a lot of time until they reached their destination. Hongjoong decided to read a fashion magazine, then one about house furniture ideas; Mingi was playing games on his phone, Wooyoung was listening to music and San tried to take a nap but had trouble falling and staying asleep because of the excitement of finally meeting his crush.

When they arrived on the Los Angeles International airport, they passed all the passport checks, impatient to finally leave the airport and start the fun part of their trip. They took a taxi to the hotel they were going to stay at and they spent the evening chatting and having dinner together, acting as if nothing eventful has happened in the past months.

[October 31, 8:28 PM]

Ara and Chaewon were in their apartment, getting ready for the Halloween party. They were putting some make up on as they couldn’t help but compliment each other every chance they got.

“Are you nervous for tonight? You’re going to meet the guy you’ve been texting, after all,” Chaewon reminded Ara and she sighed nervously.

“Maybe a little bit. You know, he’s really handsome and cute and… I just don’t want to embarrass myself in front of him,” Ara admitted, while struggling with her eyeshadow.

“So you admit you may have a little crush on him?” Chaewon asked curiously with a playful tone, taking the brush from Ara’s hand and helping her put eyeshadow on.

Instead of momentarily denying, Ara stayed silent for a few seconds before answering.

“Even if I did, it wouldn’t matter. I doubt he’s interested in me.”

“Judging by the playful, yet caring tone he uses in his messages to you, it doesn’t look like he’s indifferent towards you.” Chaewon smiled and Ara rolled her eyes. Chaewon tapped the brush gently to her best friend’s eyelid, finishing up her make up, then taking a step back and admiring the final result. “Just think about it: he texted you out of nowhere, using the dumbest reason, he remembers who you are, even though he was never close to you and four years have passed since he last saw you. He also used his friend’s phone to talk to you and he keeps insisting he was drunk every time he ends up texting you something flirty.”

“That’s because he’s actually an alcoholic,” Ara nodded her head, seemingly trying to convince herself more than anyone else, since there was no way Chaewon believed that.

“Yes, and I’m an addict by this logic,” Ara couldn’t help but let out a small laugh, hearing how preposterous her friend sounded. “All jokes aside… He’s probably even more excited than you for tonight’s party.”

Ara seemed to actually think about the possibility, before she brushed it off.

“Nah, I can’t see it.”

“Believe what you want, but one thing’s for sure: you look way too hot right now and if he can’t notice that, then he probably doesn’t deserve you. Now let’s go, my beautiful friend!” Chaewon exclaimed, starting to jump around, not even trying to contain her excitement.

Ara, on the other hand, was not so thrilled. She seriously considered rejecting Chaewon’s invitation to the party in the very last minute and explaining to her she suddenly had a change of heart, but then she realized her best friend could never let her do that so she had to face whatever life had in stock for her tonight. She really wanted to meet San, but she knew she was going to be awkward. It was so easy and natural for her to act sassy when they were texting, but in real life she didn’t have even half the confidence she showed in the chat. She hoped San would be okay with the fact that she was going to act very differently in person than in the chat. Tonight he would see a shy girl who definitely didn’t have a sassy remark already on the tip of her tongue. Even though she didn't believe anything would happen between San and her, she still didn’t want to make a fool out of herself in front of such a handsome guy. She was so nervous that she couldn’t even stay still.

She took a deep breath, then put her devil horns headband on her head, pulled her short black lacy dress down and tied her platform Converses. She was sure she could combine them with any outfit, since she hated how uncomfortable high heels were and how she couldn’t keep her balance, so sneakers were always her choice. When Ara heard Chaewon complaining that she was taking too long to get ready, she just took one last moment to look at her reflection in the mirror. She then went to Chaewon and the two girls went out of the apartment building, taking a taxi.

When they walked into the nightclub, they made their way through the people as they looked around and sat on the unoccupied bar stools they found. Ara almost instantly took her phone out of her bag to see if she had any new messages from San. Her eyes lit up with pure excitement as she saw he has texted her indeed.

Ara subconsciously smiled and Chaewon looked at her knowingly. When Ara noticed her friend’s eyes on her, she looked back at her questioningly.

“What? Why are you looking at me like that?” Ara questioned, but Chaewon only chuckled.

“You’re so whipped for him,” Chaewon commented with a huge grin on her face.

“I’m not whipped for anyone!”

Ara just sighed, obviously lacking the arguments to prove her friend wrong. She suddenly heard her phone received another message on her phone. Thinking it was San who was texting her because he was already there, she enthusiastically took her phone from the table so quickly that she almost dropped it. When she unlocked it, though, she saw another name appearing on her screen.

Ara put her phone aside, sighing. She wasn’t sure how she felt about Wooyoung; she knew he was hot and everything, but if she had to be honest, guys like her actually scared her. Ara knew what they were usually after and she wasn’t looking for something like that at all. She needed someone who valued the emotional connection before the physical one. Even though she didn’t know Wooyoung that well, she could see he wasn’t the type of person who got emotionally attached to someone. He was like an open book: he was a popular guy so a lot was known about him. Ara didn’t seem to find him charming, though. She wasn’t even sure why she told him she was at the club, when she didn’t really want to meet him; on the contrary, she was still hoping he wouldn’t find her in this crowded club. Her priority for tonight should be San, finally meeting him and talking to him. She really hoped their conversation would flow as easily as the ones they had in the chat.

“Okay, you’re not fun, you only look at your phone,” Chaewon pouted. “I have to leave you alone, though, I have plans with a friend. If you’re still free, I might bring him over to introduce him to you.”

As Ara nodded, Chaewon got up from her place and went to look for Mingi in the crowded nightclub. When she found him, she excitedly ran to him, hugging him right away. He hugged her back with the same enthusiasm as he was glad Chaewon was as happy to see him as he was. When she pulled away with a wide smile on her face, she saw two more guys.

“These are my friends, Hongjoong and San,” Mingi said.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Hongjoong.” He shook Chaewon’s hand with a polite smile.

“My name is San,” San said, also taking Chaewon’s hand for a handshake.

“I have one more friend, but he went to buy cigarettes from the shop nearby,” Mingi explained and Chaewon nodded.

“If he isn’t dumping us for girls, he’s doing it to buy cigarettes. Looks like we’re never a priority for him at all,” San murmured and sighed.

Chaewon took a good look at him as she seemed lost in thought. She suddenly spoke, startling San who also seemed to have been in a similar situation, immersed in his own thoughts.

“Wait, did you say your name is San?!” Chaewon exclaimed with surprise. “Are you perhaps looking for a girl named Ara?”

“Wait, how did you know?”

“She’s my best friend! She told me she’s supposed to meet you tonight.”

“Oh, really?!” San couldn’t believe what was happening.

It turned out Mingi’s friend happened to also be Ara’s best friend and so they all met there. He instantly saw an opportunity to impress his crush: he thought that he should slowly try to get close to Chaewon and help her with whatever he could, so that she could share some advice on how to win her best friend’s heart. Besides, he knew Ara wouldn’t like someone who wasn’t treating her friends well, so he knew he had to pay special attention to that part. He wanted Chaewon herself to root for him, so that things would go smoothly.

“She’s sitting on the bar just ahead. You should see her if you walk just a little more,” Chaewon explained energetically and San nodded with a smile before waving his friends goodbye and walking away so that he could find Ara. His heart was beating fast as he was trying to contain the excitement of finally meeting his crush after so long and eventually having a whole conversation with her in person – something he never had the chance to do before.

It didn’t take long to find her, sitting on a bar stool alone, scrolling through her phone, looking more bored than ever, taking small sips of her Cosmopolitan cocktail. He approached her slowly, but also excitedly, because he was feeling so lucky to be having the opportunity to finally meet her and spend time with her.

“Hey,” he gently said, close enough to Ara’s ear so she could hear him over the loud music. He hoped she wouldn’t be startled by his actions, but as she saw her suddenly turn around, nearly falling off the bar stool, he realized he has failed to do that.

As soon as she saw him though, she smiled widely with excitement, standing up.

“San!”

“Can I hug you?” he asked shyly and Ara nodded with a small smile on her face.

She really appreciated how considerate he was and how he was not forcing physical contact on her. As expected, he was proving himself to be a gentleman. Before she could do anything else, he had his arms wrapped around her body in a warm, comfortable embrace. He was especially careful that he didn’t touch her bare skin, but the parts her dress covered instead, in case she felt uncomfortable. He didn’t want to ever let go of her, but he eventually had to, otherwise it would start to look suspicious in the sense that his feelings would eventually no longer remain hidden. He stayed like that for a couple of seconds more before he reluctantly pulled away and he sat on the barstool next to Ara.

San ordered a whiskey and returned his attention to Ara.

“Cool outfit, by the way. What are you dressed as?” San asked curiously, as he took a look at her black dress, trying to figure it out. He was also doing his best not to stare at Ara since the outfit was anything but modest. It wasn’t too provocative, but it worked really well for her body type and showed just enough skin to attract attention, yet leave some things to the imagination as well. It was sexy, but in a classy way; just as expected from Ara, San thought.

“I was supposed to be a devil because I lost a bet with my best friend, but I felt awkward wearing the horns so I just put the headband in my bag,” Ara admitted bashfully.

“I hope you don’t find my request weird, but could you put them on? I’m curious how they look on you.”

Ara just laughed softly before reaching to her bag and taking out the headband. She slightly fixed her hair with her fingers before putting the devil horns on her head.

San looked at her, contemplating on whether she could actually pass as a devil. She blushed as he felt his intense gaze on herself; this only made her costume look even more out of place.

“I think an angel outfit would have been a better choice,” San said, as he chuckled, remembering how he once called her an angel in the chat in order to tease her. He took a small sip of his whiskey, already feeling his flirty mood taking over. He only hoped Ara wouldn’t be uncomfortable with it.

“Come on, didn’t we decide to drop that nickname?” Ara laughed awkwardly, as she put a strand of her dark brown wavy hair behind her ear, thinking of this whole conversation as some kind of a friendly joke and not San actually attempting to flirt with her.

That’s why Chaewon kept teasing her for being totally oblivious when someone was interested in her. It was just so funny to her watching her best friend receive all those messages from San and her being totally confused and unintentionally friend-zoning him. Why would someone like San be romantically or even sexually interested in me, Ara kept asking herself. She still believed Chaewon was just imagining things that weren’t there. And it wasn’t because Ara was that insecure in her looks or personality; she thought she was just herself, not bad looking, kind but just too weird and chaotic (not in the quirky, conventionally attractive way) for someone as breathtaking as San to actually like her.

“You did, but I did not,” San said with a cheeky smile. He burst out laughing immediately after, as Ara followed.

“How was the flight yesterday?” Ara asked, changing the topic.

“Long and boring,” San said, taking another sip from his drink. “And how was school for you?”

“Tiring, I have so many assignments to do and zero motivation to actually start them. It’s kinda overwhelming honestly.”

“I understand that too well since I’m in a similar situation. And deciding to skip classes to go on a trip to place as far away as Los Angeles definitely isn’t helping,” San laughed, quickly fixing his hair.

“I’m sorry. I was the one who gave the idea to Mingi,” Ara pouted and San automatically smiled because of how cute she looked.

She was adorable in his eyes, even though her dark eyeshow and red lipstick as well as the short black lace dress definitely made her give off more sensual and mature vibes than she usually did. But he would have lied if he said he didn’t like this side of her too.

“Don’t apologize. I think it was totally worth it.”

It was worth it just for him to see her in that dress. Just for him to be able to sit next to her and talk to her the whole night as if they weren’t in a crowded nightclub right now, as if nobody else but them was even there at the moment. The eleven hour flight, the lack of sleep, the total negligence over his studies; for him it was all worth it just to be there with her for the first time ever. Yet it felt so natural, as if he has spent his whole life until now with her by his side.

Ara smiled softly, before feeling another presence near her, this time on the barstool on her left side. When she heard the deep voice, she suddenly remembered who it belonged to. Even though she hasn’t interacted much with him in the past, he was the university’s star back when he was studying in LA, so everyone knew so many things about him despite the fact he only stayed for an year.

“Hello, Ara,” his breath tickled her ear as she felt the smell of cigarettes mixed with mint candy which made her turn her head a little.

“Jung Wooyoung? H-hey,” Ara said absentmindedly, not really happy to see him, but trying to hide her true feelings out of courtesy.

“What the… Wooyoung?!” San asked, shock written all over his face, seeing his friend sitting next to his crush. In this moment, one could say he looked as if he had seen a ghost: totally terrified, but it was due to the fact he was finally beginning to put together the pieces of this messy puzzle that this whole situation was.

“You two know each other?” Ara looked really surprised that they definitely seemed to have some kind of relationship. She kept thinking how could they know each other, before remembering they both studied in her university for an year. Then she thought of another theory: what if Wooyoung was a part of San’s friend group? They don’t seem to like each other at all, though, Ara thought to herself as she observed the hostile looks the guys kept exchanging.

The two totally ignored her since they were just too focused on each other that they forgot that she was even there.

“What are you doing here?” Wooyoung asked almost monotonously as he was not any less surprised to find San right next to the girl he had his eye on, but he tried to mask his surprise with his usual cool attitude.

“I’m talking to Ara, but it seems as if you two already know each other?”

“We met while we were studying abroad,” Wooyoung explained, feeling a little nervous, an emotion he wasn’t familiar with, slowly realizing what situation he was in, but still not stepping back. “And now we’re here. To talk to each other. Because we’re friends,” he gave as many details as possible in order to make San insecure about his relationship with Ara, but he wasn’t going to give up so easily.

“Hm? Interesting. I’m here to talk to her too because I’m also friends with her. Why don’t you go out for a smoke, huh?” San was trying to get Wooyoung to leave them alone, but that wasn’t an easy task at all.

“I already smoked. Why don’t you go, though? I wanna talk to my friend,” Wooyoung smiled with feigned innocence, which only made San more frustrated.

“Guys, can’t we just talk together, the three of us? I don’t understand, why does someone have to leave?” Ara looked really perplexed, not understanding the reason for their fight.

“Nope. I have nothing to say to him,” San took a big sip from his whiskey, looking Wooyoung angrily in the eyes, not breaking eye contact even for a second.

“Me neither,” Wooyoung confirmed that there was a problem as Ara continued looking at them with confusion before coming up with a solution.

“I think you should both go then.”

Both San and Wooyoung looked at Ara with disbelief.

“You clearly have a problem and you should discuss it. You can come back when everything’s okay.” Ara suggested, while Wooyoung and San were looking at each other so intensely that they were barely blinking.

“Let’s go,” Wooyoung said through his teeth, taking San by the arm, but he moved out of his grip.

“Do not touch me,” San responded through gritted teeth, as they both exited the club.

Realizing they both had a crush on the same girl made them wonder about what would happen to their friendship. They thought they could no longer be friends because they’ve already began seeing each other as rivals. Thoughts like that made them feel beyond frustrated and they had a lot of questions which were most likely to stay unanswered. This issue, added to their last unresolved fight made the current situation even worse and was definitely going to be a base for even more serious problems. They only knew one thing for sure: that none of them was going to back down.

San was often told that he was everything a girl wanted to date: handsome, funny and smart. That was until they got to know him better. Then he was told he was too much, too overwhelming, had too many emotions and was too chaotic. Thus his experience with dating was not as good as one would have thought. The problem: he has the biggest crush on a girl he met whilst studying abroad. But every time he messages his crush, he seems to mess things up further and further. With the help of his hyperactive friends he tries to win Ara's heart but before that, he has to convince her he doesn't actually hate her.
